AKECHI GORO — PERSONA 5 NAME ANALYSIS
Major p5r spoilers, minor “The Boy Detectives Club” spoilers.
First and foremost, I’m starting with Akechi because I thought his name was the most obvious, so I know the references in his name better. I will be making a post about Joker too, and hopefully more if I find enough material.
Akechi, meaning wisdom and intellect, Goro meaning “Fifth son.”
You might think that it was smart of the persona devs to name him Akechi for this reason, but it actually goes far deeper than that. (There’s reason for the name Goro too!)
(i promise this is relevant) Edogawa Rampo is a Japanese author who is highly important to mystery and thriller genre. He lived through the 19th-20th century and wrote many books considered classics.
Being a mystery writer, of course Edogawa had a main detective character. Known in the stories as “Japan’s greatest detective” is Akechi Kogoro, a private investigator inspired by Sherlock Holmes. That being said, naming your detective character “ Akechi” is pretty much equivalent to naming your detective character “Holmes.” Funny, right?
Akechi Kogoro is undeniable a genius, but quite eccentric. (For any BSD fans, the character Rampo is somewhat based off of Kogoro!) He appears in MANY of Edogawa’s books, as well as Edogawa’s juvenile fiction series, The Boy Detectives Club. Kogoro is a master of disguise, particularly good at disguising as young women. (Perhaps explaining Goro’s more typically effeminate appearance?)
Of course, Akechi Goro in Persona 5 is inspired by Akechi Kogoro, but it goes farther than that! I believe Goro is specifically based off of Kogoro in “The Fiend Of Twenty Faces,” the first book in Edogawa’s juvenile fiction series. The fiend of twenty faces is a gentleman thief based off of Arsène Lupin. I don’t want to spoil his name, So I’ll be calling the gentleman thief Kichi. Kichi and Kogoro have a relationship of mutual respect despite being rivals. Kichi is particularly well known for a character inspired by him, that character being Joker from Persona 5. I’d say Kichi is a notably worse person considering he threatened a group of ten year olds, but thats another story.
I won’t get too into whatever Kichi has going on since that’s more related to Joker than Goro, but you get the idea. Initially however, Kichi was going to be called “The phantom thief of twenty faces” but it was ruled out because… It wasn’t appropriate enough for kids..? Regardless, Joker and Goro are clear parallels to Kichi and Kogoro, from Mutual respect to their rather dramatic rivalry.
SECTION TWO - Akechi Goro & Akechi Mitsuhide
Goro’s name holds a genius double meaning — The other being historical figure Akechi Mitsuhide. Considering this is based on reality rather than fiction, this part may be a bit disturbing. I’ll be using Goro for Akechi Goro and Akechi for Akechi Mitsuhide, because it feels wrong to use his given name.
PS: Im a random canadian teenager, Please tell me if i got any history wrong!!!
Akechi was a samurai in the Sengoku period, but also a grand traitor. Best known as Oda Nobunaga(One of the three great unifiers of Japan)’s killer. Akechi was Oda’s bodyguard, but rebelled against him and forced him to commit seppaku, which is essentially suicide. Goro’s use of mental shutdowns is likely a reference to this, as is his rebellion against the Phantom Thieves.
SECTION THREE - Crow, Kuro, and Karasu.
Goro’s codename “Crow” is pronounced in Japanese as “Kuro”, which is “coincidentally” also the word for black. Because of this, as soon as the Black Mask was mentioned (i had already been spoiled on Goro’s codename) I immediately knew it was going to be him.
Crows represent misfortune and death, but also self-reflection and intelligence.
And finally, something that was most likely unintentional but I found funny nonetheless. When Akechi first teams up with the Phantom Thieves, he suggests his codename be “Karasu”, meaning crow. The other members suggest Crow instead since they all have english codenames. The first time (I think?) Joker is given an official name is in a spin-off manga, in which they call him Akira Kurusu. It probably means nothing, but I found the idea of codename Karasu working with Kurusu pretty funny, so I decided to mention it anyway.
That’s all I caught on to!! Let me know if I got anything wrong :)

Hihi Renza! :D
I was wondering if I could maybe request some tmnt if that's ok! I was wondering if maybe you'd be comfortable writing a headcanon for the 2012 turtles finding out reader's secret of having an otome game obsession (me) ><
I was just kinda wondering what thier reactions would be to like...the honest to goodness library of otome routes both of us have read at some point in time! ><
Hope that's ok! No pressure to write at all! This is only if you're comfortable with it!
Hope you're having the loveliest day, and getting plenty of rest, and receiving some warm happy hugs!!!
Tumblr media
Girl I am so sorry that this has taken me so long to get to!
Leonardo:
Leonardo has definitely dabbled in otome games, although I don't see him as having played a whole lot of them. I could see him being a huge fan of Ikemen Sengoku, though. His favorite IkeSen suitor would probably either be Hideyoshi or Sasuke, no you cannot convince me otherwise. I think he would have a loose-liking of Nobunaga but mostly just because he kinda gives Karai vibes (i do not ship Leo/Karai). I can kinda see him kinning Hideyoshi and admiring Sasuke, being more attracted to Nobu. Leo may be taken sightly aback if he realizes just how many otome games you've played. I don't think he would judge you, though. In fact, he might find it fun to play some of the routes with you and share thoughts, almost like an otome version of a book club. I giggle at the though of playing IkeVamp Leo's route and talking to TMNT Leo about IkeVamp Leo (his almost-namesake) and just how they're so different lmao. I NEED TO HEAR HIM VOICE AN OTOME MAN, HAVE YOU HEARD HIM SPEAK??? HE'S GOT THE PERF VOICE
Raphael:
As much as I hc Raph to be such a (secret) sucker for romance media, I feel like he wouldn't really understand or be interested in otome games. He wouldn't seriously judge, but he would tease you for playing so many. He'd joke, saying that you probably like your anime boyfriends more than him, but I think deep down that he would really want the reassurance. If he was gonna like any otome game, it would have to be one here the MC falls in love with a "monster," be that a literal one, in the sense of them just not being human (Like IkeVamp) or in the sense of the LI just having irredeemable qualities/being aggressive/being evil, I think that's the only kind he could really get behind. Any kind of Beauty and the Beast type of story he looovesssss. Because of that I could see him enjoying Ikemen Prince (very lightly, he just likes the comparison to beauty and the beast), but if he were going to get attached to any otome game, it would be Ikemen Vampire. I think Theo would be his kin, and his crush.
Donatello:
No matter how many otome games you've played, I guarantee that this man has played more. And not just otome games, but really any dating sim. The FNaF Dating Sim will always (ironically, mostly because of nostalgia) have a place in his heart, but honestly, I kind of see him being a big fan of MLQC (Lucien is his favorite 100% sweetheart, but also evil scientist? What do you mean it's not Don?) No matter what game he plays, he always either falls for his kinnie, or a woman way out of his league lmao. Without fail. I think he would also be a fan of the Your Boyfriend Dating Sim. It scratches the immoral, fucked up, obsessive part of his brain (my boy just wants someone to love him as much as he loves them :c)

I Will Take You Tonight (Part 1)
These translations are not intended as a replacement for the game. Please support Cybird by buying their stories. Expect grammatical errors. Not 100% accurate.
Tumblr media
The glaring rays of the sun cast long shadows on the skyscrapers.
The seventeen warlords and I slipped through time and found ourselves in the parking lot of a TV station building.
Mai: "Sasuke, are you sure this is okay?"
Tumblr media
Sasuke: "Not only did they promise to pay for our performance, but they also promised to arrange a hotel for all of us while we're here. Also, everyone is excited, so I think we'll be fine."
(I never thought this would happen.)
A few hours ago.
We were having a tea party when we suddenly got caught in a wormhole and transported back to the present day.
Just when we were wondering what to do, a TV station staff passed by and spotted all the warlords.
(It's incredible to think that we'll be appearing on TV. And to top it off, the concept of the show is一)
Ranmaru: "Phantom Thief, huh? I'm looking forward to it, Lady Mai!"
Mai: "Yeah, I wonder what it will be like."
The show's concept was for everyone to split into three groups and engage in a treasure hunt, dressed up as phantom thieves.
(I think it's a typical variety show, but I wonder if everyone will be okay.)
Despite my concern, everyone was in high spirits.
Tumblr media
Keiji: "I'm just grateful that they're willing to give us a place to stay just so we can have a fun treasure hunt."
Kanetsugu: "I'm just thankful we didn't end up on the street."
Yoshimoto: "I guess it's gonna be different competing with the tools of this era."
Kenshin: "If it's a game, I won't lose."
Kanetsugu: “I’ll be happy to help you, Lord Kenshin.”
Nobunaga: “We still don’t know what will happen to the groupings, though.”
Staff 1: “Everyone, please follow me to the waiting room!”
With the call from the staff, everyone stepped into the TV station, one by one.
(This is nice!)
(Hm?)
At that moment, I suddenly felt someone’s gaze and looked behind me, but there was no one there.
Staff 1: “Miss, please come with me.”
Mai: “Ah, okay.”
(I’m sure they’re looking because it’s weird to see everyone in kimonos.)
(Even I would be surprised if I walked by knowing nothing about it.)
I drew that conclusion and walked into the building as well.
Nobunaga: “How do you like it, Mai?”
Mai: “Wow! You all look fantastic!”
(They’re just like the phantom thieves I see in movies and dramas!)
I met up with everyone after they had changed their outfits and was surprised to see their dazzling appearance.
Kicho: “It looks elaborate, but it’s pretty easy to move in.”
Kennyo: "It seems that each of us has been assigned a specific gemstone, indicating our respective teams."
Motonari: "The costumes also have a distinct design to avoid confusion."
Tumblr media
Team "Sapphire" consists of Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, Ieyasu, Mitsunari, Shingen, and Yoshimoto.
Team "Ruby" consists of Masamune, Kanetsugu, Yukimura, Sasuke, Keiji and Ranmaru.
While Team "Diamond" consists of Mitsuhide, Kenshin, Motonari, Kennyo, and Kicho.
Mai: "You all look really cool!"
(If everyone appeared on TV dressed like this, someone might start a fan club.)
Masamune: "Are you willing to be stolen by me?"
Mai: "Masamune?"
Masamune suddenly hugged me by the shoulder, surprising me.
Ieyasu: "Hey, Masamune. Stop pestering Mai."
Mai: "Ieyasu."
Ieyasu pulled me away from Masamune and hugged me, making me tense.
Yoshimoto: "Fufu, perhaps competing to win over Mai isn't a bad idea after all."
Yukimura: "Don't hold her hands, Yoshimoto."
Mai: "Please compete for the treasure, not me."
Just as it seemed the competition was about to begin, the staff returned.
Staff 1: "Here are some of the props. Feel free to use whatever is inside this box. I have preparations to make for the set, so if you'll excuse me."
Ranmaru: "Lord Sasuke, what's this?"
Sasuke: "That's a wire gun. It's a gun, but a wire pops out of it, and you can use it in different ways."
Motonari: "What is this kite-looking thing?"
Tumblr media
Kicho: "That's a hang glider. It's like a kite, but you can use it to move through the air."
(There are warning cards, paint guns, smoke screens, and all kinds of things.)
I stared at everyone as they got excited, and the door to the waiting room suddenly opened.
Staff 2: "I have a favor to ask of your female friend."
A different guy approached and beckoned me over.
Mai: "Okay."
Tumblr media
(How far will we go?)
I followed him, and he led me down to a deserted hallway.
Mai: "Um..."
Mai: "----!"
At that moment, someone suddenly covered my mouth from behind, and I desperately tried to resist.
(I'm losing strength.)
Then, I lost consciousness.
At that time, in the dressing room一
Yoshimoto: "Mai sure is late."
Tumblr media
Kanetsugu: "Didn't the staff call her?"
Ranmaru: "I'm worried. I'll go check on her."
Just as Ranmaru placed his hand on the doorknob, the door opened.
Staff 1: "Is something wrong?"
Mitsunari: "One of the staff called our friend to leave. Do you know anything about it?"
Staff 1: "What? I don't think we have a staff like that."
Everyone: "!"
As if triggered by the staff's words, everyone dashed into the hallway.
Kennyo: "Is this Mai's earring?"
Yukimura: "She was wearing that. It's strange that it fell here."
Shingen: "Did someone take her away?"
Mitsuhide: "The phone the staff gave her is not working either."
Kicho: "This is not part of your plan, is it?"
Staff 1: "O-Of course not! I'll contact the police immediately."
Nobunaga: "We won't leave it to someone else."
Tumblr media
Kenshin: "Obviously."
Hideyoshi: "We'll rescue her ourselves."
Ieyasu: "I will never forgive him for kidnapping that girl."
Masamune: "She's our treasure. We will do whatever it takes to get her back."

Here we go again 🎶 [Rant concerning Cybird’s favoritism]
Tumblr media
TOLD YOU! But I am genuinely surprised the other popular LIs didn’t hit the goal, but then again, I called Nobunaga being among the winners. Where’s my coins now? And to be honest, the ticket stipulation for votes is very not f2p friendly, since we are restricted to five tickets a day. Would have been better if they somehow could measure how many people chose a specific route during the timeframe they gave, and I know they could tell route metrics, if the LIs they select for story events were any indication.
Oh, speaking of story events:
Tumblr media
🎶One of these things are not like the others, one of these things just doesn’t belong🎶
Oh, Mitsunari, you poor, cinnamon roll.
I must declare, I have no hate towards the popular characters, hell, some of them use to be my favorites when I first got into ikesen. However, I recall Masamune being in a recent story event, same with Kenshin! Where’s. The. Variety?
One popular character is fine, but damn, must it always be practically the same roster over and over again? Ranmaru’s bday is coming up, why not choose him to be a LI here? Why not go with a romancing the spies SE, where the lineup is Keiji, Kanetsugu, Ranmaru, and Motonari? I just gave you a theme! Or how about another theme, men that remind you of the summertime, like Shingen, Hideyoshi, Keiji, and Ranmaru? I do not know about everyone else, but I am practically begging for more f2p content about the current routeless guys and the Underdogs. I want to know more details about them, no matter how small! Have Kanetsugu host a damn book club, have Keiji rear in a hoard of angry wild boars (Not MC), have Ranmaru throw a pop star-esque show! Hell, just… ANYTHING!
I really like the popular characters, I do. But it is about high time to share the popular characters’ spotlight with the rest of the cast. Once I get through this damn writer’s block of mine, I will get right to that, but oh my goodness…
It is like eating the same food everyday. Sure, its your favorite, sure, its tasty, but sometimes you just want something different, something besides your favorites.
If time constraints are the issue regarding SEs and CEs, then I much prefer they just delay them and take the time to make great LONG events that everyone can enjoy at their leisure. They be talking about all for love, but that love seems to only be for the popular characters, and it is beyond infuriating.
When fellow fanfic writers have written far more compelling and interesting stories about the characters that you choose to neglect, then we have a big problem, don’t we?
When artists make beautiful fanart of the characters you choose to neglect, then we have another big problem!
When you neglect the opportunities to give the underdogs their own birthday fests and only give it to select characters, we also have a big problem.
You added more LIs, and for what? To push them to the background and continue to just churn more content for your favorites? What’s the point of including more LIs to begin with, then?!
I will be damned if they keep adding more LIs when a huge chunk of the ones they already have had been neglected. And what about characters who have been here since the near beginning, like Yukimura? Where’s their grand variety of content, huh? Oh. my. goodness.
And sorry, but p2w content for them does not count when their f2p content is abysmally low compared to your popular characters! Do better! Ramp up the romance! Since you seem to refuse to, then it is up to us ikesen fans to make up for it!

The fan club and Mieko, took the bullying to the extremes and proceeded to shoot fireworks into the shrine with Yuzuki trapped in it. This caused a fire that burned down the shrine that was Yuzuki's home.
As a result, Yuzuki has severe low self esteem and is slightly afraid of fire from that incident.

Megumi Ogata (Kurama) and Nobuyuki Hiyama (Hiei) Interview
Source: Namco video game magazine "Nours" (1994), shared by @AboboZ
"Yu Yu Hakusho: Tokubetsu Hen" (Special Edition) was the third Yu Yu Hakusho game released by Namco for the Super Famicon on December 22, 1994. In this interview, Ms. Ogata and Mr. Hiyama talk about various things related to voice acting, Yu Yu Hakusho and games. Ms. Ogata also shares a curious fact about how she studied to the role of Kurama.
Although it requires artisan-ish skills, voice actors don't just act with their voices.
Tumblr media
Voice actors are Homo Ludens
Mr. Nobuyuki Hiyama and Ms. Megumi Ogata
Nobuyuki Hiyama
Born on August 25, 1967 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He studied at the Japan Narration Actor Institute in Tokyo Announce Gakuin Performing Arts College, making his full-scale debut with "Kaiketsu Zorori" (video). His representative works include Rai Ryuga from "Ginga Sengoku Gun Yuuden Rai", Maito Senpuji from "The Brave Express Might Gaine", Hiei from "Yu Yu Hakusho" and many more. On his days off, he devotes himself to snoozing, but since he was impressed by NHK's taiga dramas as a child, history has been one of his hobbies. As for games, he have conquered all of "Nobunaga's Ambition" and "Records of the Three Kingdoms" series.
Megumi Ogata
Born on June 6 in Tokyo. She took an entrance exam for a university without knowing that only that faculty was located in a rural area, and although admitted, she returned to Tokyo after one year. She entered a drama school aiming to become a musical actor. Her debut work as a voice actor was Kurama from "Yu Yu Hakusho", and she suddenly gained popularity. Her other representative works include Haruka Tenou from "Sailor Moon S" and Roka from "Yamato Takeru". On her days off, she is busy with daily life such as cleaning and laundry, but as an actor, she won't forget physical training and also goes to the fitness club.
When game consoles are showy contending for supremacy, the importance of the voice actors in games will definitely increase
Although the original series has ended, the fans are getting more and more excited with the development of "Yu Yu Hakusho" media mix, including anime, CDs, games, and even aniparo doujinshi. In terms of games, Namco's SFC version is the most popular, beating out a number of competing titles! In response to the overwhelming support from the fans, the third installment, "Special Edition," will be released as early as this winter.
Therefore, this time, among the many "Yu Yu Hakusho" characters, we invited the voices of the immensely popular Kurama and Hiei, and also heard from the development staff.
Kurama who scrutinizes, and Hiei who takes on a relaxed attitude.
Tumblr media
― What kind of games did you play as a kid?
Ogata: My house was in the city center and there weren't many playgrounds, I was more likely to go out and play with the boys. I had a Licca-chan doll, but I grabbed her by the legs and swung her around (laughs).
T/N: Licca-chan is a dress-up doll series introduced in Japan in 1967 by Takara, enjoying the same kind of popularity in Japan as the Barbie series does in the United States.
Hiyama: Everyone did all the things kids did back then. From tag to board games......We also used to play make-believe with the Kamen Rider series.
― You seemed the one playing the leading role, did you?
Hiyama: I liked the combatants. They come back to life many times over (laughs).
T/N: The "Combatants" (戦闘員 Sentō-in) are a group of soldiers that a Kamen Rider faces and dispatches with ease.
― What made you become a voice actor?
Ogata: I've been playing musicals for a long time, I didn't really set out to be a voice actor. Before I knew it, I had joined Aoni Production and was working as a voice actor.
Hiyama: When I think about it now, it's probably because of the broadcast drama I did in the broadcasting club in high school. All we did was take turns speaking bad lines.
― Are there any differences between actors and voice actors?
Hiyama: In baseball, so to speak, it's about the difference between infield and outfield. Rather, you could say that voice actors are part of the larger field of actors.
Ogata: Voice actors are relatively more technical, it's an artisan-ish job. For example, it requires unique techniques such as speaking and matching the lines with the number of seconds. However, they're not just acting with their voices, so I think they're basically the same.
― When creating a role, are you the type to get right into the character or are you the type to calmly analyze the role?
Hiyama: If it's dubbing, I'll consult with the pictures. In the case of anime, the setting has been created through the original work and drawings, and in foreign films, the actors have already created the roles. I think what I've been given is the ability to put it to practical use and flesh it out, so I enter a role as close to a blank state as possible and will explore what's in there.
Ogata: I'm the type who dives into the role. For example, I once played the role of Himiko, but I wanted to know the background of that time period, the dietary habits, what would she say if she were to address the common people and the inevitability for that kind of language to come out, so I looked it up.
I want to feel the "atmosphere" of the time and setting. Acting is all about recreating the "atmosphere". Of course, I'll to throw it all away when I enter the studio, but before that, I want to hammer it into my body.
T/N: Japanese has an extensive grammatical system to express politeness and formality. The person in the lower position is expected to use a polite form of speech, whereas the other might use a more plain form. So, Megumi Ogata meant she studied the way Queen Himiko would address the common people, people in a lower position than hers, and probably the archaic forms of the language used in that period as well.
― Androgynous and attractive roles such as Kurama and Haruka (Sailor Uranus) stand out. Did you do any research in particular?
Ogata: In fact, I was an idol at my all-girls school. I've been tall since then and had a more smooth body shape than I do now (laughs). When I was a senior in high school, I received over 50 chocolates and also hand-knitted sweaters for Valentine's Day. Therefore, I understand Haruka relatively well.
― What about Kurama?
Ogata: I had not the slightest idea. Since he is a demon fox that has lived for over a thousand years, I thought that he was experienced and complex, so I went to a certain school and interviewed an elderly teacher, and reread the original story. Moreover, since he is a fighter, I also studied the voice used in fighting.
Even if you punch, the way you apply the strength is different from the upper and lower parts, right? I learned how to use my muscles from a Shorinji Kempo practitioner...
Hiyama: Well, um, I didn't do anything. I read the original work, but just followed the storyline smoothly. However, if you read it too much, you might end up with a fixed image in your mind, so I'd rather avoid that.
The secret joys of the development staff and voice actors
Tumblr media
Development: Hasn't the work to add voices to games increased these days?
Ogata: There are a lot of "Yu Yu" games out there, but they're all fighting games, right? They all have the same lines "Yaaah, Taaa, Rose Whip!" (laughs). But in Namco's game, I barely had a line that said: "A beautiful rose has thorns...."
Hiyama: For me, it's usually "huh, foolish" and "you idiot", and the rest is the name of the technique (laughs).
Development: By the way, Hiyama-san, do you remember the line: "Are you surprised!? Kororin"?
T/N: KORORIN comes from the Japanese fairy tale, "Omusubi Kororin" (The Rolling Rice-balls). It's a cute mimetic word that refers to the rolling of a small object.
Hiyama: That's my roots.
Development: Since there is no sound during development, I borrowed that line from the sample CD. Instead of saying "Jao Ensatsu Kokuryuha", he says: "Are you surprised!? Kororin" (lol).
Ogata: That's how the development people secretly play. We also have fun like that. The other day, we were recording something related to "Yu Yu Hakusho" and when we went out to the lobby during the break, there was Namco's "Yu Yu Hakusho 2". Mr. Hiyama and Mr. Sasaki (Nozomu) immediately started playing it, saying live: "Reigun!!" (laughs). Whenever Genkai or Younger Toguro is the opponent, I'd apologize "I'm sorry, Ms. Kyoda (Hisako)" and "I'm sorry, Mr. Genda (Tesshou)", every time an attack hits them. In the background, Ms. Sanae Miyuki, in a voice just like Botan's, says: "Yusuke, hang in there!" (laughs). It's like watching the anime.
T/N: Voice Actors mentioned by Megumi Ogata - Nozomu Sasaki: Yusuke Urameshi; Hisako Kyoda: Genkai; Tesshou Genda: Younger Toguro; and Sanae Miyuki: Botan
Hiyama: That line "To a beautiful rose" has a bad reputation among my friends.
Ogata: He (Kurama) says it after defeating the opponent.
Hiyama: I get really frustrated when I lose and spontaneously shout "Ogataaaaa!" (laughs).
Ogata: But, Hiei instantly wards off saying "It's an afterimage!", I think it's frustrating.
Hiyama: That makes two of us! I eventually cleared "Yu Yu Hakusho 2" with Shishiwakamaru, because I couldn't get the technique to work with Hiei. Thanks to that, the voice of Morikawa (Mr. Toshiyuki) was burned into my memory: "On Ko Shō Baku Heki!" (laughs).
T/N: "Cage of Hell" (怨呼障縛壁, On Ko Shō Baku Heki: Binding Shield Wall of Resentful Shouting) is one of Shishiwakamaru's techniques. Toshiyuki Morikawa is his voice actor.
As games evolve, the possibilities for voice actors will also expand
― How did you feel after trying the "Special Edition" (Tokubetsu Hen)?
Hiyama: The controls are easy to understand. I wonder if the Super Famicon itself is aimed at a younger audience?
Ogata: I have to put the manual in front of me. Like in Street Fighter II, I can't just "rotate the D-pad clockwise three-quarters..."
Development: This series has a particularly wide fan base, so it's all about the operability.
― What is your favorite game?
Hiyama: I like simulation games. In "Nobunaga's Ambition", I am called the Heinous Hiyama. I will definitely smash up the enemy with 20 times more military strength (laughs).
T/N: Togashi also mentions playing "Nobunaga's Ambition" in the TOC of WSJ N°1, 1994.
Ogata: I prefer RPGs. I like "Final Fantasy" and I also play "Dragon Quest". I'm a follow-the-crowd type, so when people say something is interesting, I'll buy it.
Hiyama: I also like sports games. I've already "mastered" Namco's "Prime Goal". A 20-0 win.
Ogata: I've also worked for 3DO during this time, there are so many new consoles coming out recently. I borrowed a game from a friend the other day and played the old FC for the first time in a long time. While looking closely at the pictures I thought "I can't believe how much progress has been made since then" (laughs).
T/N: 3DO is a home video game console developed by The 3DO Company. Despite having a highly promoted launch and being a host of cutting-edge technologies, its high price and an over saturated console market prevented the system from achieving success comparable to competing consoles from Sega and Nintendo. As a result, it was discontinued in late 1996.
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is an 8-bit third-generation home video game console first released in Japan in 1983 as the Family Computer (FC), commonly known as the Famicom. The Super Nintendo Super NES is a 16-bit console that was released in Japan in 1990 by the name of Super Famicom (SFC).
Hiyama: I also played "Famista" for the first time in a while, but I couldn't keep up with it because the tempo was too slow. I was supposed to be invincible. When the SFC came out, I thought "Oh!", but it's getting even better nowadays.
T/N: "Family Stadium", also known as "Famista", is a series of baseball sports video games was released for the Nintendo Family Computer (FC) in 1986.
Development: The capacity of CD-ROMs is two orders of magnitude greater than that of the SFC, so the pictures and sound will be much clearer. Voice actors will also be able to do more and more work for games. I'm sure even animations will be included sooner or later, so you will be asked to start creating roles.
Hiyama: Will it be dubbing? What if it's a *line drawing (laughs)?
*When voice recording an animation, if the pictures have not been completed yet, the voice actor looks at the screen where lines are drawn, and says the dialogues when the lines turn red. This is quite difficult because there is no sense of perspective, let alone facial expressions.
Yu Yu Hakusho - Tokubetsu-hen (Special Edition)
SFC (Super Famicon)
Released on December 22nd
Tumblr media
The visual battle, which established a new genre with its powerful animation and voice synthesis by voice actors, is back with an even more advanced version. A total of 17 characters, including the main members from the previous game, in addition to the characters from the Sensui Arc, will battle it out in four different battle modes. A hot battle unfolds.
This time around, the gauges for techniques and spirit attacks have been integrated to improve operability, and 3 levels of difficulty are available for both enthusiasts and beginners to enjoy.
In addition, a new balance meter and evasion effect values have been set, significantly improving the strategic nature of the game.
The biggest selling point, however, is the character transformations! There's a close-up of Youko, a must-see for Kurama fans, and you can also see young Genkai. Hiei has also been renewed with the Dragon of the Darkness Flame. In addition, it is full of secret tricks and hidden commands that will make any enthusiast cry with joy. The sampling rate has been increased by 1.5 times (compared to our previous version). The accuracy of the sound has improved, so you can hear the lines cleanly.

檜山 修之さん・緒方恵美さん
Nobuyuki Hiyama
Megumi Ogata
SFC

Oda Forces as Authors/Writers!
Nobunaga:
Writes books surrounding mystery, assassinations, political battles. Things that are tense and make you unable to put the book down
Gets his inspiration from his own experiences in war
But will get a writer’s block easily and can spend months lazing around, thinking about how to write a book even more exciting than the last
Never writes series because he believes the greatest stories are the ones that are told in one sitting
Hideyoshi:
Writes books on advice, slightly dabbles in philosophy and authors beautiful poems which is popular among all the ladies
Is currently begging Nobunaga to allow him to write a biography on the him. He swears he’ll keep it realistic but for some odd reason, Nobunaga won’t believe him... o.0
That one author that can spend hours at his table constructing a new world through words. Stays up real late letting his brush go and the ink flow, soaking into the paper where he gives life to his imagination.
He forces people to go read his books on advice. For example: “Mitsunari, you need to eat proper meals, refer to my recent book on page 31!”
Mitsunari:
He mainly writes reports, factual political assessments and journal articles. Not much of a creative writer, but does tend to speculate on what new ideas and future directions should be taken
Similar to Hideyoshi, spends all night writing, especially when he has an innovative idea on how the current economic status should progress in the future.
Earns big bucks from interested researchers and corporations doing this
Tried to write a romance book after meeting his s/o but he couldn’t manage the colourful descriptions Hideyoshi can, so ended up writing an autobiography on his perspective and thoughts when he first met his s/o. It’s kept hidden in his shelf, never to be published.
Ieyasu:
Like Nobunaga, writes mystery, but he secretly believes that his writing will never be as gripping as Nobunaga’s. Also writes medical journals, but unlike Mitsunari, uses much more (and sometimes inappropriate) colourful language
Is a complete perfectionist; has more stories sitting in the drafts than books because “that one’s too predictable, I just didn’t like that one, that one’s just not right, I think I’ve seen that being done before...”
Truthfully, yes, his books aren’t as popular as Nobunaga’s, but it’s actually because they don’t have much advertising!!
But, he does have a very dedicated fan club that wait impatiently on their toes for his new releases :D
Masamune:
Like his personality, his books are wild. Action, fantasy and betrayals!
If John Wick was a book, it’d be written by Masamune. Oh, and there’s always a female lead who falls in love with the bad ass male lead or vice versa ;)
Almost couldn’t get published once because the editors couldn’t read his handwriting. His imagination moves faster than he writes ^_^;
Writing is his hobby, so his books come out slowly (when he has free time), but they are very entertaining for those who love guns, fights and a bit of cheesy but spicy love. Tends to write series.
Mitsuhide:
The master of thrillers, horror and mystery. His ideas are so advanced they are not understood by normal readers. Poems are not for him either; no one understands them
Throws in little Easter eggs/references to other things in his books all the time
Of all the books he wrote, he did have one hit book which was a mystery/action book loosely based on himself and how he changed since meeting his s/o
After that, he retired his pen (because no one understands his 10000 IQ writing).
Ranmaru:
Used to be a fantasy writer with very good plots twists, but recently has switched to writing and illustrating children books!
Loves drawing short and fun illustrations for little kids and seeing their smiles light up. Would totally write a book with a similar storyline to Shrek
He won the children’s book of the year which made him really, really happy
Is currently looking to expand the genres that he writes and wants to write a book as dashing and cheesy as Masamune’s.

Remain Nameless
chapter 2: doves will cry
summary
One thing that everyone needs to know about Chrollo Lucilfer is that he loves to dance. Machi discovers this fact the first time she meets the boy.
They’re young, heartbroken, and all they can feel is the heat of LED lights across their skin and the sweat of the bodies that surround them. Machi’s pink curls fan out wildly around her head, short spirals falling into her eyes - she lost her hair tie a while ago. She’s pressed against a boy with grey eyes and black hair, and she’s having the most fun she’s ever had in her life. The boy has a habit of taking her hands and twirling her about, pressing himself to the line of her body and swaying them both. He seems to know what he’s doing, and although Machi isn’t familiar with the music of the far East, she catches on quickly. This music is lively - fast, heavy bass and repetitive beats. Not once does the beautiful, lazy smile leave this boy’s face, and Machi thinks she could have very well fallen in love with this boy if she liked boys.
The two dance for hours, and when Machi says she needs a drink and a rest, the boy grins and presses his lips to her ear, “Come back when you’re rested up,” and continues to dance as she heads to the bar, but his eyes don’t leave her until she is seated.
Machi is incredibly observant, something the teachings of her mother instilled into her. She watches the boy, watches his loose limbs, the freedom that radiates off every movement he makes. His shaggy black hair moves with every shake, his shoulders are strong but they look delicate in the way they shimmy, and the rest of his body moves as if music alone commands it.
Machi wants to know this boy.
At the end of the night, when the music turns slow and people are either in drunken slumber on the furniture of the club or on their way out, Machi and the boy are swaying together, one of his hands on her waist and the other holding her own tightly. Her arm rests across his shoulder and her head is comfortably laying on the hand that clutches his opposite shoulder. Her eyes are closed and she’s lost in her thoughts when she hears, “What is your name?”
Maybe it was because of how loud the music was before that she had missed how rich the boy’s voice was. In her core, she believed that voice could lead a thousand men to their death happily. ‘This man is a leader.’
Still, she gives her name, because maybe she is looking for a leader, “Machi. And yours?”
“Chrollo Lucilfer.”
“Well, that explains the cross,” she jokes, but not unkindly.
Chrollo laughs a bit, Machi feels it rumble in his chest against her own, “I guess it does,” and he waits a moment before saying what he really wants, “May I speak honestly?”
“I’d prefer that you do.”
Chrollo continues to sway them, and the hand on her waist rubs comfortingly, in the way her mother used to when she was sick.
“There is a particular look people have when they are… searching for something. I see it, in you. I know you are not from here. Yet, with a broken heart, you’ve come to a city where outcasts disappear. What are you looking for?”
Machi’s throat hitches, she was not expecting that. ‘Should I be honest? Does this boy even deserve to know anything about me?’ A million thoughts bombard her mind. And yet, only one really resonates with her: ‘I’m so tired of being alone.’ Machi has spent a year traveling to this place, having gotten used to countless nights alone, talking to no one but herself.
“I’m looking for a place to belong, and to be accepted unconditionally.”
“A family?”
Machi lets out a soft laugh, “I already had a family. A lovely one, and a horrid one.”
“I believe you can have more than one family. There’s the one you’re born into, and then there are the ones you choose,” At this, Chrollo slightly pulls away and places his hand softly against Machi’s ruddy cheek, taking a moment to appreciate the contrast of his pale skin against her deep brown. “Would you like to be a part of mine?”
Machi’s mind halts for a second. On one hand, she doesn’t know this person at all. On the other, she is more than capable of defending herself, and she is too curious, too tired, and far, far, too lonely. She raises her head, and searches the boy’s grey eyes, looking for any signs of deceit. She has to hand it to him, the boy has one hell of a poker face, but Machi’s instincts are never wrong. Finally, she softly agrees, “Okay.”
That is the night she meets Feitan, Nobunaga, Pakunoda, Franklin, and Uvogin. It’s the best night she’s had in a long, long, time.

Ratatoskr private academy in Tenguu City, Tokyo.
Itsuka Shiori, who suddenly transferred there, on the day of admission witnessed a shocking truth.
For some reason, the principal of the academy is Itsuka Makoto, her adoptive brother!
When Shiori was confused, Makoto spoke up:
"Here at this academy, there are some very special students.
Shiori, please tighten your bond with them.
And among them, let's choose a fiancé candidate.──Is it okay, Onee-chan?"
Makoto (the color of the scarf has changed from white to black) is different from usual saying that, and Shiori's school life begins.
"Aa~n! What should I do from now on~!?"
Starring: Tohru Yatogami, Orion Tobiichi, Yoshiko Himekawa (and Yoshimune), and Kyozo Tokisaki all voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki

Oh nooooooo!!! 🥺🥺🥺
My friend just showed me this the other day! Why are you up at top 1 Keiji! Go back to top 2!! 😤😤😤
I have a scary feeling some diehard stans may dislike this and think of the unfairness of Keiji releasing right at this campaign 😱😱
But I hope everyone is civil and just support their second or even third male leads in their Sengoku life. Have fun, enjoy the change! In my opinion, it’s nice to see change!
I am a major fan of Masamune since the release of the ENG app! I have to mention though, I also do have love for Nobunaga and Mitsuhide as well but let’s stop and think. Don’t you also find it slightly boring and predictable to always just see the “regular” top 3 warlords at the top??
This is just a regular event so let little things slide and support your second, third, fourth, fifth male leads!!
Please feel free to go all out again when it’s events that ranking really matter such as the yearly anniversary and host club, allow other favourites to get some time to shine 🥰🥰
~~~
Oh gosh, I just noticed and now wondering what would the difference be for rank 4 and 7 because it just says letter LOl. Would it be longer? Or more intimate? 🤔🤔
~~~
Have a safe and wonderful holiday everyone!!
🥳🎁🎄

IkeSen Nobu: Well? Does your MC allows you to drink sake from her lips?
SLBP Nobu: What-
IkeSen Nobu: Hm. I see that your MC is not bold as mine, then.

IkeSen Sasuke: *Looks from his chest to SLBP Sasuke's toned and bulky chest and back to him* I see. So this is the feeling like those anime characters with flat chest compared to those who has plump chest. *sigh* (´・ェ・`)
SLBP Sasuke: Don't let it get to you! I trained for years to get this too!
IkeSen Sasuke: It's alright. I don't think my MC has interest in Jojo-Like Humans as we are all created with a normal toned body.
SLBP Sasuke: Jojo who 🙃?
IkeSen Sasuke: Do you say ORA ORA ORA ORA when you attack your enemy?
SLBP Sasuke: ...No ʕʘ̅͜ʘ̅ʔ.

Winter anime 2020
And it’s time for another one of these lists. They kinda keep growing in number and it’s scary, but here it is! This season there were some continuation and some anime that got new seasons (ahiru no sora, chihayafuru, isekai quartet,  kaibukichou sherlock, iruma-kun, radiant, nnt) but here are the new anime we started ^^
{ Winter ‘18 }  { Spring ‘18 }  { Summer ‘18 }  { Fall ‘18 }  { Winter ‘19 } { Spring ‘19 }  { Summer ‘19 }  { Fall ‘19 }
BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.
Tumblr media
This is a typical isekai with a game-like action and plot. It doesn’t have any deeper meaning, but okay for relaxing. Basically, if you want to take your brain out for a walk - watch this!
Darwin’s game
Tumblr media
The manga is better. It always is, but here especially so. It has a really good concept - a battle to the death game in real life, but not as good execution with the anime adaptation, they skipped some of the really important parts. Don’t let that discourage you tho! It has a good character development and nice action scenes, which makes it quite good! And move on to the manga later ^^
Dorohedoro
Tumblr media
A very interesting anime! Weird, but good! Not surprising tho, it’s mappa. The world in which the story is placed is, although very dark, refreshing and unusually good. The characters are unique, lovable, but weird... like really weird. The animation is a bit different, but it has it’s charm. Also, it has it’s fair share of blood and gruesome scenes, so skip it if you don’t like that. We loved it though! One of the favorites ^^
Hands off the motion pictures club!
Tumblr media
Soft. Just goddamn soft. The animation is a bit different and simplistic, but it fits the characters so well. This slice of life pulls you into the imaginative and colorful world of three high school girls who share the love for animation, and the viewer follows their process of getting inspired for plots for their anime and working on creating it. There is not much action going on, but it always leaves you with a positive feeling after watching it.
ID:Invaded
Tumblr media
Yes. Watch it please. Awesome detective/ mystery story. The idea of entering a criminal subconscious (aka the id) is a unique and it gives new possibilities for detectives to find clues. The plot is very intriguing and keeps you on your toes. Its confusing at the beginning, but the story connects better after a few episodes and it makes you want to watch more. The characters are intriguing and their conversations well paced. (also great voice actors and music *-*) It has some darker scenes, murder and suicide mention, just thought I should mention that, but it’s an extremely good anime, so would definitely recommend!
If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die
Tumblr media
As you can see from the title, this is about a girl fangirling over her favorite idol and that’s it, that’s the plot. But, it’s somehow soft, nicely animated and the story is just enough for an episode a week. It shows both the idol and the fan side of the idol culture, especially the less famous groups. Overall, it’s not an anime that will knock you off your feet, but it’s a solid comedy with relatable characters ^^
Infinite Dendogram
Tumblr media
Generic entering-a-game anime. The point of the anime is that every persons possibilities are endless and everyone has the potential to develop into a strong person. Like we said, nothing new. It’s old, but cute concept.
Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
Tumblr media
And we’re pretty sure most people already know about this one! It’s playful, colorful, cute as heck, the main girl gets a bit annoying, but it’s hella good! The story balances comedy with a school setting and a darker side involving yokai and evil things that lurk in the shadows, making it interesting to watch. The animation is pleasant to the eyes and the characters are great, what’s more to want ^^
Kyokou Suiri
Tumblr media
The plot of this anime is more focused on logical and critical thinking rather than on action, though it may seem otherwise from the synopsis. The relationships between the main characters are kind of weird, but in a good way and their interactions are always interesting. We were pleasantly surprised to see the main female character to have a crush on a guy and still maintain her IQ level. Overall, it’s a good anime, it has good voice actors (Mamo-chan <3), but don’t expect to be kept on the edge of your seat.
Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica Gaiden
Tumblr media
If you watched Madoka, I’m sure you’ve heard about this release. We were happy that they kept the same dementia animation style, especially of witches. It kinda has a more positive vibe than the original but it still keeps some of the original darkness. There are a lot of new magical girls and more plot and action. It’s pretty good, but the original is better (we love them darkness).
Natsunagu!
Tumblr media
A very cute five minute anime about a girl searching for her friend who suddenly stopped answering her texts. The animation is cute and you have nothing to lose if you watch it.
Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga
Tumblr media
It’s about japanese warlords and historical figures, who are resurrected as dogs. Even though they’ve kept their personalities, they can’t say no to dogs drives (pet me hooman!). It’s cute, but not a lot of plot.
Pet
Tumblr media
It has a very interesting idea of entering peoples subconscious and changing it, manipulating their memories in order to control them. But the executions of that idea is... meh, at best. The characters aren’t lovable or memorable, you don’t feel a connection to them. It’s one of those anime that at the end you say ‘It could have been so good’. But yeah, it wasn’t.
Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It
Tumblr media
The title says it all. Comedy, slice of life (but not really, the sample is not representable). You really start rooting for the main couple and they are funny at proving their love. It’s also educational, it does mention and explain some principles. It’s quite funny ngl.
Smile Down the Runway
Tumblr media
A heartwarming anime about a guy who wants to be a designer and a girl who is too short, but still wants to be a model. It’s a story about perseverance, hard work and pushing towards your dreams. Positive and emotional, and you find yourself cheering for the main characters. Perfect if you want a slow paced anime that includes character development.
Somali and the Forest Spirit
Tumblr media
It’s heartwarming, has very clear animation and great voices. The concept is really interesting, the accent is on understanding others different than you and showing love and support. Basically, lots of emotions, it doesn’t have action or a complicated plot, but as a soft story, it’s pretty good.
The Case Files of Jewler Richard
Tumblr media
This show is so filled with emotions and softness, it’s amazing! It’s mostly peoples stories - problems and difficulties they overcome on their own or with help of the people close to them, which also have some connection to a jewel. The plot focuses more on the main characters in the later episodes. But the art is very pleasing and the main characters have good chemistry. Of course, it’s not for those who don’t like a bit more of a slow paced story, mostly based on storytelling and human interactions. But it’s still good ^^
Watched but got to lazy to properly review: Ishuzoku Reviewers (sometimes you just have to admire that someone had the imagination to come up with some of the episodes), Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (not terrible, not that good either)

Romance with Mr. Right...hand Man Ch. 1
A/N: This is just a fanfic I am starting following Hideyoshi's romantic route ending. I hope it's something everyone can enjoy! This will be a multi-chapter fic and I'll be bouncing between it and my Shingen fic. I will hopefully be moving my Nobunaga and Mitsuhide fics over here from fanfiction as well soon.
Chapter 1
I found myself sitting in front of Nobunaga on his horse. His arms were on either side of me, holding the reins. We were in an open field outside of Azuchi. It had been a little over a year since I had traveled through time and been living in the Sengoku with the Oda forces.
Mitsuhide and Masamune were on either side of us. We had a small portion of the Oda army behind us. On the opposite side of the field at the head of his own army was the love of my life, Hideyoshi. He was flanked by Ieyasu and Mitsunari, with their own portion of the Oda forces behind them.
I can't believe I agreed to go along with this. Granted it's not like I was truly given a choice in the matter. I thought to myself.
"You seem rather tense, Ava." Nobunaga observed, though there was a smile on his face.
"Oh, you know, just wondering why this is all necessary?" I replied, my tone a bit disgruntled.
Nobunaga grinned at me. "It is the only way." He answered.
I let out a sigh as I turned to look at Hideyoshi across the field. We were close enough I could see the determined look on his face and noticed when he leaned over to discuss something with Mitsunari or Ieyasu, but we weren't close enough for me to hear what was being said.
"Ava, aren't you the least bit curious as to how determined Hideyoshi is about all of this?" Mitsuhide asked, his tone teasing. "What lengths he will go to?"
"I would think you would be excited that he was willing to do this in the first place." Masamune added.
"I mean...it is definitely impressive." I replied. "But I also know how much he's going to be hating this the entire time."
"Don't worry, this was my idea. I will hold nothing against him when this is over." Nobunaga replied.
"The rest of us won't ever let him live it down though." Masamune replied grinning. "That is assuming none of us run off with the prize."
I rolled my eyes and sighed once again. My thoughts then turned to the events that led us to where we all stood right now.
Three days ago...
I was going around the room of the great hall, carrying a bottle of sake and pouring for everyone. We were having a banquet to celebrate the anniversary of Nobunaga surviving the Hono-ji incident.
"Ava." Nobunaga had said just as I was about to go join Hideyoshi.
"Uh...yeah?" I asked. "Were you needing a refill?"
"I would not say no." Nobunaga replied. "But you should also allow me to pour for you. This banquet is as much about celebrating you as it is me."
"I don't..." I began to protest.
"Without you saving me that night, we would not all be here now. So, come drink with me a moment." He said.
"Uh...alright." I reluctantly agreed. I wanted to go be with Hideyoshi, but I knew that even he would tell me I had better get up there to follow Nobunaga's orders. Hideyoshi was basically the president of the Nobunaga fan club.
I made my way up to the dais and sat by Nobunaga and filled his cup. He handed me another one and then poured for me. "Thank you." I said.
"You have earned it and proven yourself." He told me. "This haori coat you made is excellent as well. I commend your work."
I couldn't help but to smile. I always felt proud when my work was complimented. "Thank you." He had commissioned the haori from me a couple of weeks ago and I had put a lot of work into it.
"You know, you should share a drink with the rest of us." Masamune spoke up. "We want to celebrate the brave lass who saved our lord as well."
"Why do you always say we like you're including me?" Ieyasu grumbled.
"Because you're just as happy to have Ava around as the rest of us, lad." Masamune replied.
So, I ended up not getting to go join Hideyoshi and drinking with everyone. I planned for just one drink with each of them and then I would join Hideyoshi. Hopefully I could catch Nobunaga in a good enough mood that I'd be able to go home with Hideyoshi to his manor tonight.
What I did not realize at the time, was that everyone was enjoying the game they had stared. They were playing keep away with me and Hideyoshi. What I was also unaware of, was that Mitsuhide had manipulated Hideyoshi into drinking quite a bit more than he normally would. Hideyoshi was not the most composed drunk. When drinking he would speak much more freely than normal.
"Alright, Ava, it is my turn to share a drink with you." Mitsuhide said, taking my hand and pulling me to sit beside him.
"Only one drink." I said, remembering the last time I had drank with Mitsuhide. It was seriously the worst hangover the next day.
Mitsuhide grinned at me. "Why, my dear little seamstress, are you worried about what will happen if you drink with me?"
"I am not wanting the hangover from hell again." I replied. "Your alcohol tolerance isn't human."
"What if I promise to take it easy on you?" Mitsuhide asked, leaning in close.
"That's it!"
I jumped at the sound of Hideyoshi's voice. He was then coming over to sit beside me, wrapping an arm around me and pulling me close. "Hideyoshi?" I asked, looking up at him.
"I will not have the lot of you taking all of Ava's time. I will not stand for this anymore." Hideyoshi boldly declared.
"Are you challenging us for our dear little sister?" Mitsuhide asked, his voice teasing.
"As the man who loves her, yes I am." Hideyoshi answered. "And not just tonight. I am going insane not having her by my side every night."
My breath caught in my throat as I looked up at the man I loved. "Hideyoshi...what...are you saying?" I asked.
Those warm golden eyes focused on me. "Ava, I can't stand the thought of another night not having you come home with me. I want you to live with me and to be my wife."
I felt the tears stinging my eyes and the smile tugging my lips. "Oh...Hideyoshi!"
"That is quite the bold declaration, Hideyoshi." Nobunaga's deep voice came from his seat.
We all turned to look at him. "It is the truth." Hideyoshi replied. "If Ava will have me, I want to take her home and make her my wife."
"Have you forgotten, Hideyoshi?" Nobunaga replied, an amused smile on his face.
"My...Lord?" Hideyoshi asked.
"Ava is my treasured little sister." Nobunaga answered. "You truly intend to take her from me?"
"I...Lord Nobunaga...it's already been too long. I can't take it another day." Hideyoshi replied, looking Nobunaga in the eye.
Holy cats! He's...he's actually challenging Nobunaga for me?! I felt a swirl of conflicting emotions in my chest at this moment.
"You believe you are the best man for her?" Nobunaga asked.
"I will do everything to see to her happiness." Hideyoshi answered.
"How far are you willing to go for Ava?" Nobunaga asked.
"Uh...what...what are you trying to say, my lord?" Hideyoshi asked, confused.
"You have challenged me for her. You've made quite a bold declaration, Hideyoshi." Nobunaga replied. "Would you fight for her?"
"What kind of question is that? Of course I would." Hideyoshi answered.
Nobunaga's grin became devilish at this. "Then it is settled."
"What exactly is settled, Nobunaga?" I found myself asking. Is he agreeing to letting me finally move in with Hideyoshi...and then us planning our wedding? I thought with cautious excitement.
"Hideyoshi, you will prove your resolve to take my precious little sister from me." Nobunaga declared. "In three days time, I will have the perfect challenge for you."
"You name it and I will meet the challenge." Hideyoshi declared.
"You shall face me in battle." Nobunaga declared.
I am pretty sure my jaw hit the floor as Hideyoshi's eyes widened. "L-lord Nobunaga?"
"If you truly wish to make Ava your wife, you shall face me in battle." Nobunaga repeated. "We will work out the details over the next few days."
I looked at Hideyoshi. I half expected him to back down at the thought of fighting Nobunaga. There's no way...right? I should probably say something. Take it off of Hideyoshi. I thought, though I couldn't deny that a part of me was holding back, hoping he would respond and accept the challenge. "Nobunaga, come on, this is a bit ridiculous. Besides, you didn't wait to hear my answer. You spoke up before I really had the chance."
"Because I already know your answer." Nobunaga replied. "But that is not what is important here. Hideyoshi, will you fight for Ava?"
Hideyoshi's eyes met mine. He gave me a smile and then turned to Nobunaga, determination set on his face. "Alright, if that's what it takes, then yes, I will face you in battle, my lord."
A devilishly gleeful smile came to Nobunaga's face. "Good. I look forward to this."
Now...
And that was the story of how we ended up here. The details had been worked out that Hideyoshi would face Nobunaga in battle essentially for my hand in marriage. Nobunaga had declared that Ieyasu and Mitsunari would be Hideyoshi's subordinates in the battle, while Mitsuhide and Masamune were his to command.
The rules were relatively simple. It was similar to an actual fight, but the goal was not that anyone would be hurt. Or only minor injuries were allowed. Hideyoshi was to command his forces in an effort to take me from Nobunaga. He literally had to physically take me from Nobunaga and run off with me.
Of course this meant that he would have to fight Nobunaga and more than likely try to knock him off of his horse or something. I knew that is that happened, Hideyoshi would be devastated at having caused any injury no matter how minor to Nobunaga. I knew he would also be terrified of hurting me in the process.
"Don't worry little mouse, no one will get hurt." Mitsuhide told me from his place beside Nobunaga and me. "Especially you. You are our most precious little sister after all."
I found myself rolling my eyes once again.
"I am very much looking forward to this." Nobunaga said, smiling like a little kid.
"Why exactly is that?" I asked.
"To see exactly how Hideyoshi plans to pull this off." He answered. "It has been quite amusing to see him change since being with you."
I looked up at the man whose arms I was currently trapped in. I raised a brow at him. "I don't think I've really changed him that much." I replied.
"He values his life now." Nobunaga replied. "He is no longer willing to throw it away. That is something I am happy to finally see."
"What else are you hoping to see today?" I asked.
Nobunaga smiled. "I am just looking to have a bit of amusement today." He answered, but I could tell that that wasn't the truth. Though I am not sure what he was really searching for, I was certain that it was more than amusement. Something told me that Nobunaga really did care about Hideyoshi and this was somehow his way of proving a point or trying to get Hideyoshi to learn something new.
It was a few moments later that a the war cries sounded. Horses and soldiers from both sides took off. I found myself gripping the saddle to keep steady as Nobunaga kicked our horse into a run. I was preparing myself to be able to jump off and into Hideyoshi's arms at a moment's notice. I didn't want him to have to do all of the work when it came to this mock battle. I also wanted to try and make this as easy on him as possible. I knew what Nobunaga meant to him. So the fact that he was willing to participate in this mock battle was major and showed how much he truly loved me. Even if it was something he agreed to when he was drunk.
I hope this ends well. I thought as I kept my eyes open and waited for my opportunity. Though you know this is the stuff most girls dream of...I mean I literally have men fighting over me right now. I couldn't help the rueful smile that came to my lips at that thought. Though no matter who the victor in this mock battle is, my heart will always be Hideyoshi's.

Hi Puts, this week I just received my first Botanical Tsushin, my FC card and a letter (I can't read the letter though), so I'm freaking happy right now and I wanna share my happines. Talking about that, how often do they send you something? I wanna use the FC Store too but the delivery is more expensive that I thought. Btw I have another question, you know if the girls play videogames?, at least I would adore to see Wakana playing some game like Mario Kart. Thank you as always.
Tumblr media
YAY! *high fives*
That's great news! I am so happy for you!
Huh. You should have also received a little present for joining the FC. Back in the day it was a thin cloth with a Botanical Land print all over it. I am surprised it wasn't included. Maybe that's what the letter is about? They could be sending the present separately? Feel free to send me a picture of the letter in my DMs so I can take a look at it. Or alternatively, you can use the app google translate with its camera feature to find out what the letter is about.
Botanical Tsushin usually comes out four times a year, one issue for each season. The last one came out in April, Wakana and her team are currently working on the summer issue so I am expecting that one to be sent out in mid to late July or early August.
Wakana regularly holds little contests where it's possible to win special presents. For example, during events there will typically be a lottery where she draws a few member IDs. Also, every fan club magazine contains a contest (you will see a banner on the Botanical Land site during the application period - to take part you just enter your information and impressions of the latest magazine). If you are lucky enough to ever win something like that, those things might be shipped separately (although they do try to make sure to send stuff together with the magazine).
I recommend making a big fan club store order so it pays off to pay a lot of shipping. Not sure how the import regulations are in your country but if they aren't too strict and you don't risk having to pay outrageous fees (like I do T_T), nothing is holding you back from getting a huge-ass package with a ton of stuff.
Maybe...I don't think so? Hikaru loves mobile games and both Keiko as well as Wakana have enjoyed playing some too in the past but I can't remember them ever talking about video games. I could be wrong though. I am clueless when it comes to video games so I have a hard time remembering information like that. I am sure they have all played games like Mario Kart at some point in their life though because really, who hasn't? And they might have given "Nobunaga's Ambition" a try (for which they sang Hoshi no Utai).
