ur post abt the roommate. wow the audacity of white ppl never fails to amaze me. they rlly only perceive the world through their lens and think if someone hasn’t established themselves in their community they’re a nobody. u had to find out abt kanye west due to a white woman prevalent in ur community? what does that say abt u more than anything? it’s so funny how they rlly think poc success relies on whether they’re relevant enough to white ppl. it makes me understand now why a lot of them will be obsessed with and hype up artists like tyler the creator, since 90% of his audience are white. i experienced this first hand at one of his concerts earlier this year.
It def changes the narrative a lot, but I'm also white and I was really shocked, too. I knew it was possible, but I never really thought someone would be so blatant (and intentional, too) in their cultural deafness and blindness about a topic that's not only easy to understand but also... important?
Like... idek know what to say. The fact that there are (white) people out there who have never had to challenge their worldview, even with different styles of art and music... to the point where distinct history, at the very least, isn't even remotely important? Or considered at all?
Not only does it touch upon what you say about it reflecting poorly on them (which, BIG FACTS) but also... you wonder how that's something to even defend or take pride in. It's pure stupidity... and overall just hard to watch, someone having the nerve to so wrongly but confidently have opinions about a topic they never even bothered to learn about.
And exactly as you say about TTC, too. We were just talking in one of my education classes, about how culture can be alienated at the exact same time society starts to accept it. Like, who is truly benefitting from making something mainstream? Not that this is inherently/automatically bad, per se, but when art, music, food, etc, becomes popular at the expense of the people who made it and who it was made FOR... what's really going on? Definitely nothing mutually beneficial, that's for sure... and ESPECIALLY not if this version is the only thing shared, valued, and understood of the culture.
Like Kanye West at the VMAs vs. the impact of his entire discography, for example.

But yeah. People will really value one famous white lady who makes nothing but mediocre love songs about her own life over popular and meaningful expressions of black experience... and then say they aren't racist.

Work is destroying my sanity and I’ve barely been here 30 minutes
#everything is on fire 24/7 and it doesn’t have to be#I tell people how to fix things in simple terms and we fuck that up#I get an email w less than 24 hours notice that someone wants to do a cameras-on interview which I distinctly Do Not Like Doing#my office set up is not camera friendly rn and I would rather die#but on top of that it’s just like people complain we don’t have enough people so I modify hiring just enough to get people in the door#but now another team is upset bc somehow it didn’t get to them and they’re worried abt training not being done correctly#so which is it do we need people as desperately as we’re complaining we do or do we need to train people?#people are arguing and being dramatic and the stress is so unnecessary#I have never wanted to just quit more#I had to go home early yesterday bc I had a horrible migraine and now that I’m back at my desk I can already feel another one#this job doesn’t have to be this hard but everyone is making it hard#and third party people aka corporate or literal outside companies keep adding more and more and more to my plate#acknowledging that we’ve got a lot going on but can we do this or can we get this done or can we do xyz#and it’s stuff you can’t say no to#I am losing my mind and I don’t even know how to explain it in a way that would matter to anyone who could make something change#so I just. want to scream#I have to be here every fucking day of the week for so many hours and I only get two shitty days to recover from this place#even tho I got a generous raise I still don’t feel like they pay me enough for what I am dealing with rn

how do i just apply? whenever i do i stress that i’m doing it wrong because i feel overwhelmed by the amount of info and things i have to make sure i’m doing right then i spiral and over consume again. i don’t want to rely on tumblr anymore.
what’s the simplest way to apply all of this and just “manifest” (i don’t rlly like this word bc it implies there’s a process or that i’m trying to get) my dream life? thank you

it takes some courage! i also read a lot as a way to feel secure, but eventually i just got tired and just decided 'i have no more fears from this day on! done with this!' and i made it a practise to stop avoiding myself whenever something comes up

well, learn how to stop yourself in the moment. you're putting too much pressure on your character! it only know what it knows now, it will not accept anything outside of what it already knows! thats why you leave it alone. read all you want to read, but stop when you feel like you have to. like you must. let yourself relax.

just do it. try it and see. something that is a recurent theme in all the posts and book i read, is to try it. experiment. just for this one moment, let all the worries go. promise to never make problems for yourself again. you've given up troubles now, no more. just test it and see. surrender. let the mind cry and scream, for this moment, you won't allow it to deter you from freedom.
i'll give a list of stuff that helped me
theres only now -> stop bringing the past to now, learn to sit in the present moment
stop avoiding emotions, sit with the fear, discomfort etc
you already are Self! nothing can undo that!
be patient
non attachment (or detachment)
experiment - take something you already know and test it
question everything
find out what are the stories you want, what the desire will supposedly give you
it is not necessary to get rid of thoughts or images just stop deriving identity from them

soon more lovely thoughts and images will appear in your awareness and you can choose what you want
can you outgrow it? not you. observe it? not you. in the absense of it, you don't dissapear? not you.
be okay with not having it. get to a place where no one and no thing can disturb you (and your happiness and peace)
just see how absurd all this shit is. like i was born? what was it like before i was born? why is it normal to hear your voice in your head? no one knows what tomorrow is but we all worry abt it, where tf does the voice in your head come from? how can we actually identify feelings, what if the feeling pride isn't actually pride and you've been lied to? do you know how crazy this is for an infant?! we say we are an [x] person and that changes and so we say we are an [y] person, so who are we?? if we can change like that? being a human is confusing, seek the truth out and question all
just start to disidentify as the body-mind. when you disidentify as the body-mind you'll start to feel better as all the pressure you put on your character falls away. this will intice you to keep going as you feel freer!
have fun!! go and live life!! appriciate what you have now - this is all expressing the character, omnipr3sence, perfectly! you'll start to see "i barely thought abt x 2 days ago and now i see it here lol" "i was worrying about y and now i see it here too" "oh so this comes along with being the character too, maybe i should change that story"
you're in your own dream, see it as your dream and you'll start seeing the connections.
no need to convince the character, just move on. let yourself doubt this 'reality'

i’ll give you my entire left tiddy for some more mspar alien difference fluff. written or drawn, with mallek or marvus or pretty much anyone else. warm blooded/cold blooded cuddles with marvus. mallek purring and being embarrassed abt it. mspar not realizing they’re being flirted with til someone spells it out to them. just any troll/human (??) difference shit or any of your hcs please i’m starving
Starve no more!! I'll feed you AND me cause I honestly fucking live for alien differences between trolls and humans like? Omg...I'll try to sneak some Mallek and Marvus for ya since you seem to mention both of them (and I'll throw in some other ones for more comparisons >:])
So for general troll temperature headcanons, let me tell you, you'd better enjoy being cold/not be too bothered by it cause the higher on the spectrum, the colder the blood you're touching and cuddling. The warmest a troll will ever be is if they're a mutantblood, the closest thing to getting to normal human body temperatures and the ones with any real warmth to them. Rust bloods being the lowest on the hemospectrum that aren't mutants don't have as much warmth but still tend to run warmer than other blood types on the hemospectrum. Not exactly lukewarm, little bit warmer than that. When we hit the goldbloods, that's when it starts getting lukewarm temperatures. Smack dab in the middle of the spectrum, the Jades, aren't very warm or anything, but it's a few hairs away from being able to consider them cold feeling. Anything above the jades is when things start getting cold.
Teals you could say are cold, maybe not unpleasantly so, you could feel such a difference that you would no longer feel any real warmth. Cerulean is when the temperatures could be so stark as opposed to human warmth that coming into direct skin to skin contact with it could definitely shock your skin and make you flinch initially. Purples are. Man. Remember how I said you'd better like being cold? This is where the cold could be the brink of being unpleasant for some who can't handle it very well, it really starts setting in the longer you choose stay in physical contact with them. Violets, I'd argue, would be downright unpleasantly cold to the touch, like, you know how if you go outside in the snow and your body feels numb and face would be stinging? Like that.
With that general stuff of how perceive the coldness of some trolls established. Um. Mallek and Marvus :} I'm going to apologize in advance, Marvus is a character I've always been intimidated by in terms of writing. I feel like I just don't get him enough, and I'd hate to mischaracterize him :(( but I'll do my best!! (Putting a break here cause I type a lot)
Marvus and Mallek I feel like have a tendency to be mischievous little shits sometimes, once becoming aware and acquainted with the warmth Mspar emits and how cold they are in comparison they like to have fun with it. Mallek likes to do that thing some people do, ya know, where people take something fucking cold like a thing of ice cream or an ice cold drink and fucking PRESS it against your skin and it makes you scream? That. But no ice cream, it's his hand touching their bare skin (which still makes them shriek and jolt in surprise). They turn around and playfully smack him on the shoulder in retaliation.
Marvus likes doing the same thing but for him GOD FUCK the cold feels so much worse than Mallek. Bitch IS the ice being pressed against your skin. He doesn't even need to use his whole hand, he could press a finger to them and get a reaction. Punching doesn't do much to Mallek anyways, trolls and their thicker skins, but Marvus doesn't have a lot of squish to begin with. It's weird punching someone who feels so..solid? Not to say he's got absolutely no squish, but he has very little of it.
Cuddling... ahehhehehe cracks knuckles.
Since I'm already talking about Marvus lemme get to him already. Since he is a freezer, it'll take a bit to get fully comfortable laying against him. Warmth can overpower or balance out a trolls temperature, this is something that's very hard to do with bloods higher than indigo. Something like either them or Marvus wearing a good amount of clothing to separate makes it to where they don't feel immediately uncomfortable with the chill of his skin. Marvus I feel like is kinda finicky when it comes to touch or laying for long periods of time?? It's kinda funny, you could hug him, and he'd allow it for just a few seconds before he'd wiggle his way out of it, a playful look to his eyes. Or allowing you to rub his skin for a bit before pulling away. Only when he's tired or is ready to be settled in completely is when you can really, for real, cuddle him without him squirming out of it.
Now Mallek? Umpfh. Touch starved. Mspar too actually, I headcanon that they are a touched starved person themselves. So how about two touched starved people help another out..by cuddling. And everything else that involves touch under the moon really.
For him, he kinda loses it when he's in physical contact with them. It's the warmth! It really gets to him, and it makes his brain go nuts. He used to fight the overwhelming urge to wrap them up really tight in his arms cause ya know. Snake brain, cold, friend/flushcrush is warm, curl around the warmth. He didn't fight it anymore when they actively sought out physical touch from him themselves and was actively encouraging him and letting him know it was okay to search for it back.
It was through being around him that they discovered the most surprising thing they never thought of a troll doing. Purring.
They have never heard of a sound as soft as purring coming from a troll.
Trolls only purr in the presence of those they feel the utmost comfort with. To feel the safest with, to trust them the most, and to be at your most vulnerable with. It's super intimate stuff in troll culture. Hearing that anywhere out in public could make trolls snap their head in that direction and make them flush in the face. Get a room!!
I imagine it was one of those many days where they stayed over at his hive. They had just decided that they were done playing video games and it from leaning against each other in silence while the game systems powered off, then it transitioned into Mspar coaxing Mallek to lay on then while they had their back laid down on his lounge plank. His weight against them was comforting to them.
They were just nuzzling his shoulder and rubbing their hands all up and down his back and sides, all with no patterns to it. He had his face pressed against their chest, his arms pushed underneath them to wrap around them. They could feel his smile against their skin, and they were all smiles and happy, too. Then they, well, they felt it before they heard it.
It was something they didn't even notice at first, the rumbling, the small vibrations emitting from his throat and chest. When it was growing stronger and the purring became audible, they still didn't question it at first. They were just so comfortable, and the cuddling was just so nice, his purring could put them to sleep and...wait. Purring?
When the realization of Mallek purring hit them, they temporarily halted their hand movements. Mallek stayed put for a bit before his purring stuttered a little, and he cracked an eyelid open to gaze at them, wondering why they stopped. He finds them kind of staring at him, their hands still under his tank top just stopped on his back.
"you okay;"
This snaps them out of it and they and they lean in to kiss his forehead, Mallek snorts in response and immediately relaxes against them again.
They kindaaa wanted to point it out at in the moment but ultimately decided against it so that he didn't get embarrassed or shy and stops. They think it's SUPER fucking cute.
As for general differences between troll and human romance? Cracks fingers. Obviously it depends on what quadrant a troll is interested in having you in. I'll go with red romance for now unless someone later wants the other quads too lol.
I talked about purring before and purring is a BIG one. Purring is how trolls communicate that they feel absolutely safe and comfortable in their partners presence along with purring being a form to heal when their partner is hurt or isn't feeling well. It leaves them very open and vulnerable and so it feels very intimate for most trolls. A troll purring in the presence of human they're interested in a human may not pick up the significance of it so they just see it at its simplest until explained. Some trolls may feel a little hurt when their human partners don't pick up on their purring and they don't purr back in response, again, until explained that humans aren't capable of making sounds such as purring. Make no mistake though! Troll purring does not sound like how a cat's would. It's sounds like how you would imagine an insect purring would sound like.
Sleeping in the presence of a person you're interested in or around your partner is another big thing trolls do. Sleeping near other trolls is again, a vulnerability thing. To sleep near someone? To be so open and let your guard down like that? To trust someone that much? Wipes sweat from brow. Humans being able to do this with trolls they're even a little comfortable with is absolutely flabbergasting to most trolls.
Okay there's sleeping when someone is nearby...then there's sleeping WITH someone. No not like that ya nasties. Sleeping with someone, in their recuperacoon, it's a vulnerability thing again woo boy. It's the HIGHEST form of trust a troll could show their partner! The significance of this can really go over a human's head, they truly don't understand the gravity of trust at play here.
Here's something not sleep related. Scent marking. This one is more subtle than just. A partner wearing their sign or typing the way their typing quirk is. This one is when a troll leaves something, take a shirt or their socks or something, at their partners hive. It leaves a bit of them, their scent, there and it's meant for their partners + any other trolls that are over know. Humans tend to also seek their partner's scent/how they smell (think stealing your partners clothes), it's another thing that means more deeply than they originally think about.

the thing abt talking abt c!dreamity is that it's not...about shipping. really.

like really at the end of the day it's just about humiliation. about subjugation. about everything that "sir" and "our bitch" entailed, about how c!quackity explicitly derived pleasure from c!dream's torment, about the power that comes with taking the top dog and grinding him under your boot. like id argue that there's plenty of evidence that c!quackity could have gone that route in the torture (and when people argue abt SA in terms of c!schlackity, i'd argue that that almost makes it more likely for c!quackity to use it against c!dream in the prison) just because of the emphasis on c!dreamity and how it has always, always been on the fact that c!quackity explicitly LIKES the torture. it's about the sadism. it's about how c!dream struggles to reconcile the fact that c!quackity enjoyed it, and kept doing it because he enjoyed it moreso than because he had a "reason" (tm), that c!quackity was motivated in particular by the fact that he LIKED making dream scream.
and you know you consider other scenes like c!q cheering when c!dream trades a sexual favor for peace with mexican lmanburg, and the jeering at dream on top of the wall with a specific emphasis on how he HAS to do what they say whether he likes it or not and so he's now a weak little bitch for them to use (and own), when he's encouraging c!sam's little fantasy and cheering about how c!dream can't do anything about his situation and explicitly taking part of a fantasy that involves holding c!dream down as he's crying and begging and screaming--like all the stuff is there. but unlike, say, c!wilbur and c!sam, this idea of subjugation and ownership is...like, explicitly violence and just violence. kinda?
c!wilbur's relationship with c!dream definitely involves an Element of having dream do things for him, or at his encouragement (see: dream getting him the TNT to carry out his plot, i'm so proud, "keep my throne warm," and wilbur would have his alliance, just to name a few) but is it really about violence, per se? not really? like. the point of all of this isn't to Hurt him. wilbur's thing with the Guy In Charge is about power, and is about control, but his relationship with dream is also colored with a lot more complicated feelings on both sides. and c!sam's ownership is meant to be ownership in Whole--there's really nothing that c!dream has that he doesn't in some capacity want. his super complicated relationship with whether or not he actually wants to kill c!dream is pretty indicative of this--he doesn't want to destroy c!dream. he can't cope with the idea of him being dead, as we well know (he'd beg for me to save him, and i would.and all.)
meanwhile with c!quackity like. sex in any capacity when you consider it in terms of c!dreamity in the prison is just another weapon, just another means of power and control and subjugation and humiliation, just another instrument of another kind of violence. and like believe me i do think abt it and i think that to a certain extent it's definitely an angle that's (understandbly, but at the same time...sometimes unfairly) overlooked, but there's also not that much complexity in comparison ig

Theorys about yorks name origin vary a lot. Tho most think that he got the name because he’s been to all of new york. He has live in all the burrows and gotten thrown out of almost all the lodges . In reality it was simply because he came from yorktown.
Even some newsies dont know that there are seperate lodges for boys and girls because that isn’t used. Neither the keepers nor the newsies care. There are so few newsies girls anyway so it wouldn’t pay to open an extra one for them. Plus the boys lodge is overfilled anyway and they can’t afford to not use the space they have. Newsies boys are usually very respectful and responsible though. Some say its because they’ve been through stuff themselves some think their simply normal human beings. In reality its a mix (sadly). Since most never had family etc and was rejected by society, that automatically meant that society couldn’t shape them. Society never got to make them think that it was okay in the first place.
Spot and Davey both either bite their nails and they are totally rotten or have the most beautiful and cared for hands/nails
Spot had full on tears in his eyes maybe even down his cheek when Jack scabbed. He didn’t know if he could trust Jack again after what happened what ended their relationship. When he thought he could finally trust him again he pulls this.
Spot spreads rumors abt himself sometimes. Racetrack (and others) help. But race not by saying stuff but by doing stuff.
When crutchy has to sign stuff with a real name, he doesn’t want to use his real name, charlie, he uses shawn because he reminds me of shawn the sheep so yeah

this is by no means trying to be a rant post but i just needed a different perspective on this issue so to speak. i got into an “argument” (one sided tbh LOL) with an ashleon shipper (which…. is whatever… ig…) and they were saying that ashleon is canon in re4 remake and i was like how ???? they were completely mischaracterizing aeon too. so im just really confused bc before i became a hardcore re fan and was an outsider so to speak, i just assumed that leon and ada were an “item” bc thats how they have always been portrayed. and then i go on here and retwt (eww) and ppl do not think that AT ALL. ppl think ur crazy for thinking aeon is a canon thing. i just feel like im missing a puzzle piece all the time bc its like … i thought it was pretty obvious? and its so hard to hear the other side on these conversations bc they are so rude and judgmental and dont want to have a civil conversation and hear the other side. so i just wanted to get ur perspective on this issue and why ppl might not automatically think aeon is a thing bc i really like ur takes on aeon as a whole! this also isnt trying to be negative or a shitpost, i just want to hear a different positive and ig “constructive” perspective on this!

typically when it comes to promos and stuff, aeon tends to be pushed together though (like from capcom) so that's always been kinda cute and nice. (i love seeing all the teppen art of aeon, and random capcom promos of aeon together)
i just feel like because the ship is "not conventional" it gets a lot of backlash, particularly because the female character doesn't adhere to social norms and gender roles. and typically because aeon falls into this category, people are quick to tear down ada because of it
it's just the same shit lol. i just choose not to engage with it cause i got better shit to do with my time

Mike x Max friendship headcanons
(Blaming @berrymoos for this as we talk abt them so much I couldn’t not post something)
(The amount of time I spent finding a gif of them is embarrassing)
Firstly their classifications which are both flips with a little lean
They are ‘twins’ because one time they were arguing in the back of the car over who was older so bad that Nancy made Steve pull over so she could turn and go “you are now twins, same birthday, same age” the pair accepted it
Twins means shared birthday party’s and themes (ie. Skateboards and dnd, California and photography (cough cough my photographer Mike Hc))
They have such a sibling like love/hate relationship
The passive aggressiveness is unmatched by anyone in the party
When they’re little they always fight about dumb stuff that quickly turns not dumb when Mikes starts throwing things and Max starts reeling back punches
Poor Lucas and Will have to stop them from killing each other on a regular basis
Then again, they would set fire to anyone who dares be mean to their twin. Have and will argue or get physical with people in the others defense
Max tries to teach Mike how to skate and he does surprisingly well, much to the rest of the party’s annoyance as they all suck
The adhd those two share is something nobody ever comes close to understanding
They stim together but it’s not the normal ones, no they’ll just stand and scream at each other with laughs being the only thing to break it up
Mike listens to max talk about comics when nobody wants to hear it and max let’s Mike talk about cameras when nobody wants to hear it
Max got Mike his first Polaroid camera for one of their birthdays
Mike got max a brand new skate set up that he was going to build himself but didn’t want to do it wrong
They like to play pranks on Steve together as he is their older brother unofficially
They tried to play pranks on nance and John but ended up feeling too bad when Johnny got super scared at max in her Micheal myers mask and nance had to comfort him
Being flips mean they can care for the other and they secretly love it more than anything else
It’s like they can talk without words, they just know things, they have the twin powers™️
They are the most reckless and fast drivers of the group and give Steve a heart attacks every time he takes them out to practice driving
They do that thing of “well if max isn’t going I’m not going” and “If Mike won’t do it then I won’t do it” no matter the headspace they are in
Mike has stomped down the school halls to yell at a teacher being mean to Max, he got detention but seeing Max’s small smile makes up for it all
As much as Mike and Max do pranks on Steve together, sometimes Mike will go pull one on Steve by himself but tell Max about it so she can see the reaction if Max is having a particularly hard day
They talk about a lot of depressing and serious topics that they can’t with others of the party
Steve and Robin are they’re favored older kids and they never stop themselves from annoying either of the pair
Mike honestly leans to Robin while Max leans to Steve
Max lets Mike do her hair back into braids but then he has to let her do it to him
Max drags Mike outside to play games when they’re little as he’s much rather just sit on the floor coloring with Johnny
They death glare each other and it is ruthless
But sometimes Mike doesn’t mean it and he just has rbf so he gets very confused on why Max is staring him down
They swap music all the time and Max will share cassettes with Mike and only Mike nobody else >:3
Mikes really quiet and mumbly when he’s little but max is the complete opposite so sometimes it sounds like Max is talking to herself when really Mikes too whispery to hear
Steve and Robin call Mike “mouse” while Max gets called “tiger” for the obvious reasons
Lucas also pulls out those nicknames when they aren’t small and both of them blush like mad men
Mike will share food with Max but nobody else and anyone who asks why will get things thrown at them
Max and Robin like to stick hair clips into Mike and Steve’s hair to make them look pretty
Both the boys love it and Steve always encourages Mike to say he likes it
Robin and Steve definitely have a picture of each kid in their wallets but shhhh that’s a secret
Mike gives max one of his old bikes even if she has her board
Max helps Mike escape family outings and such with the excuse that she needs help studying, she never does
They have a little life plan for living together when they’re older, their partners are included in it but a lot of it is just what their shared apartment would look like

well, first is the obvious !! prisoner number nine, mikoto .. his whole character just. sucks. for reasons that have already been said many times, and i dont think i could bring anything new or meaningful to that table. but. his character is just harmful n sucks !! n, ofc, i dont have did but its clear it sucks . begone, prisoner number nine
other than that,, all the other icky things about it could be like . explained that theyre that way to keep the audience on their toes or something like that. like, they could all be explained with symbolism - like prisoner number two, yuno's murder(s) being abortions. which, theyre heavily considered murders by lots of people, so its like. could just be the. the. man my heads empty rn. but, milgram has a lot of 'your comments affect the characters a lot your words can affect them' stuff, yea? so, it could just be that because its considered murders . like, sure, its a bit icky, but it cn be explained with symbolism. i do think yuno is cool tho i like her:3 has bg vibes sorry to say. and, also, mahiru and kazui consider their 'murders' murders, even tho i'd dare to argue neither of them actually killed anyone. mahiru was in a codependent relationship and just couldnt save her bf. thats nothing to blame her for.
this isnt about milgram itself but id change the fandom to think about what it says sometimes!!! "oh if mahiru was a guy shed be voted guilty" my guy she literally was. thats a pretty significant thing that happened. she got voted guilty. and, no, if she was a guy, people would defend him for being hot and stuff!!! like they do with kazui!!! 'ohh she made her bf end his own life' yea well what did kazui do. mhm? care to tell me what His murder is? huh??? same as mahiru, but he wasnt mentally ill or anything about it, . his murder is pretty vague, but, from what i can tell, he just. i dont know he spent time with other women that werent his wife without actually cheating on her but also wasnt close with his wife at all. i dont know. and im not saying hes a murderer either, theres not enough info for me to even think about that, but luckily once his t2 song comes out it'll clear up some stuff. but, like. man. i think milgram should get weirder overall, actually. i think the characters should get weirder. like, i think many of them should be inconsolable, at least in the first trial,. i think they should get weirder... or Something... i think es should get weirder, too..

IM SORRYYYY I LIKE CALLIE! SHES SILLY AND GOOFY AND VERY NICE I CAN ADMIT THAT! I JUST... don't really have a favorite... i always cared way more about salmon run stuff than literally anything else in the game...
and speaking of which oh my god FINALLY someone who also loves salmon run. i'm so enamored with the horror aspect of it. just the whole system of going to war with the honor of accepting a death fought tooth and nail for... a massive swarm of bloodthirsty fish who want nothing more than to see your ink on the walls... and man it is INTENSE. splat3 salmon run is SO MUCH HARDER than splat2. way more mobs and way tougher ranks - the danger percent can go up to 333%. insane. and then of course the lore of the gamemode itself is great too - even beyond splat3's story mode, it's so fascinating to see their culture and the kinds of fish that can develop depending on conditions. and of course the aesthetic of it being much more grungy and dark and industrial than the rest of splatoon is just so very good.
i doubt you have a favorite fish (i mean what kinda crazy guy would! hahah °_ °") but please allow me to tell you how much i LOVE horrorboros. first of all he looks so fucking awesome. very solid design and detail. and he looks like a SNAKE FISH. two of the world's greatest creations in ONE... AND he KILLED it in the first impressions department! like:
HOW AWESOME IS THAT??? i'll tell you just how awesome it is: HELLA!!!!!
secondly, the symbolism of horrorboros' original symbol (uroboros as i'm sure you're aware of) is just SUCH an incredible pick for salmon run. first of all, it's just a very good ancient symbol in general (i'm a sucker for cyclical motifs that embody infinity...) and secondly it is very fitting to the salmonid's culture in general! the strong focus on consumption and a salmon's life cycle in general, with the babies using the nutrients from their parent's corpse (it isn't exactly pretty) to survive, both make uroboros an incredible pick to draw inspiration from for a king salmonid. i love horrorboros so very much. what a great snake fish <3
(if you do happen to have a favorite salmonid... feel free to tell me... :-) i quite enjoy the salmonids if you couldn't tell already)

OKAY SO yes!!! i really love the horror parts of salmon run! usually splatoon handles horror in very subtle ways, like the unnerving sounds hidden in splat 1 + 2 and octo expansion's whole sanitization thing, but salmon run went ALL OUT and i love it
i had stopped playing splat 3 around the time horrorboros was introduced, but the posts i saw abt it were HORRIFYING, especially it's scream! splatoon could traumatize an 8 yr old child...
salmon run has always been very interesting, from the design taking the "octos use scrap for their tech" concept to a WHOOLE another level never ceases to amaze me how much effort the splatoon team put into that mode... especially with the symbolism you mentioned earlier! salmon run has a very unnerving feel to it, i recall it's lore also had something to do with splatoon's religion themes?? although it has a good chance to be another reference, it is very interesting...
also, my fav salmonid is the maws and the big shot!! i dont know i jus like them... ive killed a lot of maws but i think they are growing on me....

'reverse colorism' lmaoooooooooooooo. ive seen that thrown around once or twice and its like...is the reverse colorism in the room with us right now? cuz ive seen plenty of this normal colorism. yet to see it in reverse. and what ppl claim is reverse colorism is just....ppl calling out someone who just refuses to acknowledge that all across the world darker skinned ppl suffer more. and if a mixed person doesnt wanna id as black thats fine thats YOUR identity live it. ino one should argue abt that. but don't not wanna be black until its profitable then say no one respected your blackness lol. i would LOVE to have a conversation on blackness and how it feels like a giant margin of black ppl are told they aren't 'black enough' for arbitrary reasons and how it really fucks with you. but a lot of the ppl complaining don't want to have a conversation. they just want darker skinned ppl to apologize and praise them at all times over stuff we....also....faced growing up 😭😭😭😭😭 like i was told so many times i was too white growing up by other black ppl and i'm not harboring a resentment against a whole race for the words of random people

MAKE IT NATURAL
SUGAWARA KOUSHI -> WEEK ONE, DAY ONE
The fresh summer afternoon was pretty, with the sun high in the sky coming through the windows. It was about a solid 11:30 AM, and the sun was shining as bright as it liked to.
However, it wasn't for you as you were struggling in the bathroom of your huge house, since Sugawara works at a private K-12 School, trying to comb and pick out your hair while it was not listening.
Sugawara was downstairs, with the TV, watching Rupauls Drag Race, until he heard your frustrated screams of annoyance from the bathroom upstairs.
With a ragged sigh, he took himself up the stairs to find you literally dragging your comb through your hair, trying to comb it out before washing it.
He sighed to himself once again, and gave you a hug. He took the comb from you, and proceeded to do it himself.
To your surprise, your hair actually was tame for once in your life. As Sugawara combed through the tangled hair, you were still sort of mad, but only because somehow your hair didn’t wanna behave when you did it.
However, you sucked it up. Because your hair was never gonna be this tame again.

# sakusa, komori, and hinata ! i feel like they have undiagnosed ODD (like me) and had struggled with it growing up, and their families had already been very taxing on them. Hinata’s dad kept causing problems which resulted in him walking out on Shoyo, Natsu, and their mom. Sakusa and Komori had naturally taxing families
this led to a lot of fights and arguments, which ended up with sakusa and komori becoming more aggressive than the normal person.
so when you come along, its way different.
they’re hostile towards you, they’re more aggressive when it comes to certain things, and they love to try and start fights with you just to push you away.
but you still stayed.
and that’s exactly why, as soon as they had asked you why, they might’ve been afraid of you leaving.
but not as much as they would be, because you always stayed.

ahh hollow being close to front and influencing my (spyte) own emotions towards things is certainly,, Something. its not like its out of the ordinary for us to bleed over neutral or positive opinions + emotions + etc. but like.. this is more negative stuff (which is a little more uncommon, but not rare). its mainly bcuz they dont like any ship content between them and their sourcemates. this is not good bcuz a good 50% of the fan content we see is ships w either quirrel or grimm (and another 50% of those ships arent fucking tagged w the ship names so theyre almost unavoidable). they Do Not like either of them for almost the same reason. theyre repulsed by most people (irl + in source) and they esp dont like romance. quirrel is okay as a person (boring + annoying but not the worst to sit in silence around), and they just dont feel anything towards him and they feel disgusted when they see the fan content. feelings r the same w grimm, they dont like him (boring + annoying again !!! how wonderful) and think hes off putting in the worst way possible.
anyways im neutral towards the ships on a day theyre not bleeding over to me but the days they are,,, wow. okay. hatred and disgust vibes x500

our mom is okay in their opinion, shes interesting to them and likes us and doesnt get mad at us that often and almost never argues w us. our father though.. he argues with them all the time. anytime he speaks theres always a problem and hollow does Not have a filter so they end up getting pissed and arguing and then its a whole Thing for a few hours and our dad just starts screaming at a point etc. etc. they also generally dont think hes interesting and theres nothing to benefit from interaction w him. sooo 0/10 for dad, 7.5/10 for mom bcuz she does get after us for our arfid and thats beyond annoying.
also, our friends piss them off regularly. they often feel like snapping at them and getting mad but hold back most of the time cuz they know i would cry my eyes out if we even had a minor disagreement. the only times they dont stay quiet abt it is when i agree w them (typically out of confusion on my part).
they also seem to b the main source of our whole "we are the only real people. everyone else doesnt actually exist. no one has real emotions or lives, we're the only ones who actually exist." thing. so thats a bit telling of one reason why they dont like many people. this happens especially with our brother and most people we see once and never again. they also feel this when they see others in sexual, romantic/romance adjacent, or generally affectionate (?) relationships.
its.. very strange to see others be in love and then only have the thoughts and vibes of "thats not right! why are they doing that? thats disgusting, i cant believe thats something they would do in front of us! what the fuck! that looks/is so unnatural!" etc. etc. its like.. x20 strength when we witness someone we're close to doing it. we've been in relationships before, and the feeling only gets worse as time goes on while we were in the relationship.
it also happens to ANY physical touch. handshakes, fist bumps, hugs, kisses (platonic or not), hair touching, cuddling etc. is all disgusting to them (and whoever is close enough to feel it too)
its. also very difficult to get their approval. i think i understand what "they dont like many people, so dont be surprised if they dont like you" means now. they even have neutral feelings towards the other members of the system, and they only like me moderately enough to talk to me.
so uh. i think its safe to say hollow is our main holder/source of repulsion towards people and any sort of relationships. i was wondering where the feelings would come from because they seemed to come and go at random, but i think i got it now :P

My twt timeline is partially filled with the new pokemas alt bc it got officially revealed and fanart next to the important stuff and it is wild how it has been a decade and I can still turn into a blushing mess and feel my temp rise it's ridiculous how much power a single fictional pretty boy got over me fuck. I might be aroace irl but reg the aro part am I not immune to a select few fictional guys. You can really figure out who fronts by testing this I remember having been such a mess on my 18th birthday when I replayed w a friend and some wine. I cannot think of a single other char that makes me that incapable and like sure I'm kinda into obey me again and lucifer is my dear there but it's so whatever in comparison. I started stardew valley and like harvey you're cute but by 99% of fictional guys it's just out of boredom. Maybe wilson from don't starve ages ago ig I recall having read a lot of x reader on good ol wattpad *shrugs*. All I know is I realized I have a thing for science dudes ig esp when we take my only ever miracle irl crush into consideration who was our class science nerd who I gen still think abt a fair amount,, anyways this ain't about him everyone hope I get my husband once the event drops without falling into bad habits again or I will combust <3
I'm getting more and more over it now I think the discovery gets it's one year anniversary or already did but I had zero idea how to proceed reg this aspect when being a system got found out w a fictive of him I remember I felt like dying out of embarrassment even tho it was already who cares and I can easily differentiate esp since the relationship is so different but man it's still weird sjsksk. All I know is fandom space is smth w this bc both extremely different reactions to specific kind of fanart and such comments get avoided completely. A single specific ship sure whatever literally following multiple artists and reason my twt acc even exists him single it's closing eyes pretend I do not see and scroll away unless maybe for once I am single fronting then it's forgetting what the fuck I wanted to do again and brain needing as much reboot time as the oldest pc ever. Also ngl the ig relationship difference between the char w me being a mess and fictive which is way more purely parental/familial I'd argue is a bit funny.
Also quick note exclusive gameverse talk I do not like that specific anime part at all I could rant abt aniverse and that one specific fit in one ep makes me scream I hate it sm
Anyways uh back to grinding for the dlc in case the talk abt that academy in sv being hard is true I will schedule this post so I forget and won't delete it.
