Everyone likes to create problems between Shen Jiu and the other peak lords. For the unnamed peak lords, its kinda a whatever thing. For the named cast, well.... Yue Qingyuan and Shen Jiu had terrible misunderstandings, secrets, and a shared past. Liu Qingge and Shen Jiu had poor first meetings, bullheaded opnions, and nasty words between them. Shang Qinghua and Shen Jiu probably had an envy problem, rumor mongering, and spy v stratigest things going on behind the scenes. Likewise, Qi Qingqi and Shen Jiu probably had rumors and general male v female misunderstandings.

All this is valid.

This consistant trope where Mu Qingfang shorts medication to Shen Jiu's peak either in revenage for Liu Qingge's death or something else is not.

Well, it is valid, but I'd like to see some different things too please.

So, here is my proposed other option for why Shen Jiu and Mu Qingfang don't get along:

Mu Qingfang's teacher was female. His rival for succeding diciple was female. And yes, he beat her out to the position some hundred years before Shen Jiu showed up on the mountain, but they were rivals still.

When Shen Jiu recieves his check ups and treatments for various wounds and malnutrition, Mu Qingfang's female teacher does it. Shen Jiu is much more comfortable with women because of his past. He's compliant with medical care and seaks it out as needed.

Then the previous generation of peak lords ascends, so Mu Qingfang takes over as everyones doctor. Shen Jiu requests the female rival to treat him instead.

What Shen Jiu meant was "I want a female doctor please."

What Mu Qingfang heard was "I do not believe you're qualified to treat me or lead your peak, I want your rival instead who should have had your job."

With the authority of a peak lord, Mu Qingfang insists he will be Shen Jiu's doctor now. Shen Jiu stops seaking medical care. While he will obey things Mu Qingfang orders as nessacary, he will not go see the man on his own free will.

Mu Qingfang is of the opnion if the idiot rather suffer then see him, fine its one less patient. He will supply the scholar with extra salves and ointments instead.

Shen Jiu would rather suffer then let a man touch him. Even for medical help. But if there is extra medication around his bamboo hut, then so be it. He can pass it to his diciples as needed.

Ning Yingying snags from the extra stores as needed for A-Lou.

With or without her Shizun's permission is up for debate. But either way, he knows what she does with it.

so I actually really enjoy the OG SQQ, he is such an angsty and dramatic bitch absolutely stuffed with trauma and terrible coping behind that ice cold veneer and it’s a shame we didn’t get more of him. there’s just so much to explore with him and he gets cut out and missed by his sect exactly 0% which is pretty heartbreaking.

dunno if this has been done yet but: airplane didn’t first become aware of peerless cucumber in the comments of pidw, he first saw peerless in the comments of a different web novel (that perhaps was one of airplane’s earlier works?) and so when initially drafting pidw he was inspired to write a villain just like cucumber bc “he’s MEAN MEAN for no reason, a literature snob, and pretends to be all high and mighty while looking down on others. also likes to kick down the little guy” and boom. sqq was born. cut to years later post-transmigration when sqh just casually drops this info with “lol i always did find it funny how much you hated the guy considering he’s literally based off you”

Bingliu has all of lqg’s confidence, lbh’s social graces, and both of their crippling need to avoid failure!

Bingqiu loves himself sooooo much, is pretty detached, and definitely thinks he’s better than everyone else. He’s just helping, why are you running away!

In the ficlet I said lqg doesn’t like interacting with BingQiu (or… sqq thinks that) but really it’s because BingQiu mercilessly flirts and teases him, is effortlessly stronger than him, and kind of projects ‘oh you sweet thing, I could just eat! you! up! [pinches cheeks]’ energy and this is such a contrast from his interactions with lbh and sqq that he just gets very awkward all the time about it.

And for Shen Yuan I went with the pastely green I've been using for him before.

funniest part of svsss is that luo binghe was the protagonist of PIDW so if u assume he was also the POV character a good chunk of the time... then the original assertation that Luo Binghe is the Hottest Man Alive was like. probably a reflection of binghe's own narcissism.

but shen yuan takes it as word of god and it becomes the primary tenet of his belief system.
