Those who wore their hearts proudly on their sleeves were considered fools in Severus’ mind. Those who could not control their emotions; were easily provoked; wallowed in painful memories. It made it all the easier to twist and contort the mind. Especially in dark times such as the one Severus found himself smack-dab in the middle, now.  In times where a powerful, dark wizard has a tight grip on many fates. Including his own.

‘I don’t need help from filthy little Mudbloods like her!’

His own words echoed in his mind, but had to quickly push them out. Severus would not let himself be weak. As if out of a daze, the young man shook his head and memory from his mind and noticed one of his journals open on the table. The page itself, had spinets of sentences; unable to be complete; the whole page rendered incoherent. Gulping, his eyes flickered towards his hot toddy, still being stirred by the spoon he had cast a small spell on, and closed the little book. He only looked up when he felt a presence near him.

What on earth is going on in the Star Trek fandom today, it's like my dash exploded

lol 28 years ago today, the Star Trek Voyager episode "Threshold" aired. The premise of the episode was that humans cannot travel at or faster than warp 10, because if they do, they would be traveling at "infinite velocity" and would exist in all points of space time simultaneously. Tom Paris found a way to travel at this speed, and doing so accidentally hyper-evolved him and his captain (Janeway) into giant salamanders, whereupon they immediately reproduced and created 3 baby salamanders. They were then turned back into normal humans, and forced to leave their salamander babies on the planet they had escaped to.

The episode was long held as the worst star trek episode. Not just the worst Star Trek Voyager episode, but the worst episode, period, because it was extremely weird and people turning into salamanders greatly annoyed a lot of people who don't know what fun is. Tumblr, having discovered this episode like excavating an exciting fossil, has taken a shine to this episode and many people now produce art and memes and eat pepperoni pizza in celebration of its air date, mostly to annoy the episode's creator, as in a very Arthur Conan Doyle way, he hates this episode and wants it de-canonized.

I know the holidays can be stressful, so this Threshold Day try to keep in mind what really matters. It's not about the gifts or the shopping, it's about breaking the warp barrier. Threshold Day is meant to be a time of transformation (into a lizard), love (for your captain/lizard wife), and spending time with your family (of lizard babies) before you abandon them on a planet forever and never think about them again.

Eyes like the sky widened at the aggression in Suguru’s tone. He hadn’t meant it to come out that harshly, but the deluge of unwelcome emotions generated by the sight of the singer had landed somewhere near panic.

‘We left the shoot in a hurry, I didn’t have time to change.’ Satoru looked down at himself with a frown. ‘You don’t like it?’

And Suguru almost laughed — because the singer was so far off the mark it was actually funny. He’d never been intimidated by Satoru’s height before, but the tall, broad frame of the man before him made his knees weak then. Satoru looked like every mean-mouthed, motor-head bad boy Suguru had ever fallen for — but better in every way, because he was Satoru.
