NO TIME FOR THIS. #so after everything. and MONTHS after OMB. he invites garak to something like a playful rematch. sort of. #after all theres only so long that garak can stomach being a sidekick u know? he needs to be able to do his own machinations. #so they make a character for him thats a villain. a little more cerebral than falcon. a little more ambiguous in his motivations. #now there's also. a secret game at play here (there are always games. doctor) and its actually between garak and his own self #you see garak Also wants bashir to defeat his character. he also wants to be shocked. challenged. a little dismantled even (state forbid!) #and because garak wants that for himself? hes going to fight tooth and fucking nail to make sure it doesn't happen. #that Gayle clip from ''COMPANY IS COMING'' but its garak yelling ''WE CAN'T LET THEM KNOW WE [WANT]!!!'' #and its a horrible idea for both of them but. oh so so exciting #you understand. #these rituals arent intricate so much as they are transparent but all encompassing. a fish doesnt know its swimming in water until its out #you understand? you understand. #thank you to anyone who found the time to read these tags i hope you enjoyed yourself and/or found what you were looking for #also garak is dressed so boring bc hes hiding himself u know how it is

Ask game, please! AU where Yoichi, back in the Dawn of Quirks, discovers that he does have a quirk. He can steal the quirks from anyone he bites. Please.

Ehehe ok, two people asking

1- Yoichi discovers this the first time he's kidnapped. (It's one of his brother's goons on order to scare him.) They cover his mouth with one hand, holds the other away from his face, igniting a fire on it and threatening to light the whole building up if he fights. Yoichi bites his hand at the same time his brother kicks in the door, so he assumes the fire flickered out in fear and barely even realizes his body runs a little warmer than it used to.

2- until a dinner with his brother turns into a screaming match and Yoichi slams his hand down on the table, ready to march out- and then smells smoke. AfO is stunned that his little brother has a metapower after all, and one... Familiar, to him, but Yoichi thinks it only makes sense and is so happy to finally have one of his own.

3- he talks about being a fire themed hero and teases that he should have had red eyes where his greedy brother had green. AfO doesn't want him to suspect that his quirk might be something more, so he acts like it's just a little fire quirk, nothing for Yoichi to get too excited about, it's not very strong and he's still sick, don't want to catch a fever.

4- but Yoichi did realize what his quirk actually was. He feigns ignorance as well, until yet another argument with his brother leads to AfO trying to steal his quirk- unsuccessfully. Yoichi bites him in retaliation. He can't steal anything from him either. AfO quickly locks Yoichi up so he can't interact with anyone he could potentially take a quirk from.

5- this leads to Second inheriting a stockpile of a couple powers from Yoichi (fire, and a limited stamina boost), as well as the ability to steal more by biting- but he realizes he can't use any he stole. When OfA is passed to Third, Third can use any quirks Second stole - but none from Yoichi or that Third takes. This continues until All Might, who's able to use all of the quirks in the stockpile, but can't seem to steal any. He wonders if the quirk is full. It certainly seems to be, and Izuku is under the impression he can't steal any more either, and wouldn't want to with how difficult balancing the huge amount of powers from All Might already is. That is until the Muscular fight, when Izuku gets desperate and bites- and is suddenly able to use the muscle quirk where the villain can't. (Izuku finds using any he himself steals easier than the ones given to him, but he's determined to figure those out anyway.)

Four was riding Wolfie as they explored this part of the long abandoned ruins. When they had started it had seemed as though it would be a normal sized mansion, but they further the group went the weirder it got, the first major split after having seen no monsters in the first 10 minutes of exploration, Time grabbed Warriors and Hyrule, Wind bouncing along behind them as he waved his pendant at Wild who stayed close to the rancher's side.

Hmmm taking this in two ways:

Proud to have finished as in, proud that I managed to finish it has to be Wander the Drifting Roads, which is one of my two long fics. I was editing while I was posting and caught up to the point I'd edited to, which caused me disproportionate stress haha. For a minute, I wasn't sure I was ever going to get that last chapter into a state I was okay with posting. I briefly considered walking away, but I am so glad I didn't!! It is still one of my favorite things I've written.

Proud that I wrote in general is probably Palimpsest, which 1) I still feel clever over the name and 2) that section of act 2 remains the crunchiest Dragon Age thing to me (it is just so!!!! *paragraph deleted*) and 3) I love writing from inside Fenris's head and I am very, very proud of how the fic came out in general.

*gets out the red string* okay so you know how there are a bunch of statues of people in random poses that don't really look like they're carved from anything? and how Solas froze a ton of people in Trespasser in stone? well, in my fic The Scourge of Sundermount, the Lavellan there comes across a left-behind remnant of Mythal's soul in a bit of the amulet Merrill used to bring her back and she becomes a sort of Medusa-esque figure, capable of (involuntarily) turning people to stone with a remnant of that power. I have a hard time reading that story because it is very sad, but I do feel clever about the details in the way I situated that AU.

1 The character everyone gets wrong Hm, would it be cheating to say all the clones? Because I honestly don't think there's much basis for the whole "one big family" thing fanon has going on in TCW.

Like, they're first and foremost a military, with the ranks and discipline and all that at the forefront of their social structures. At least that's what it looked like to me when I watched the show. They work together - some of them are really close, others are aquaintances or annoying colleagues. Some of them are in the position to make decisions that may send thousands to their deaths.

And I think that's way more interesting than going for a 'traditional' family structure.

🔥 curious about what the train hot takes are

I just realized I'm a bad person to ask about hot takes because I don't spend enough time talking to other members of most communities to know what is and isn't controversial, so this might be lukewarm at best but I will say: the more I look into certain restoration projects the less I like how much gets obfuscated in the locomotive restoration world. Which is to say, I don't think anyone who goes into restoring a locomotive goes in with bad intentions, but I sense a constant need to present nothing but the best possible version of the project at all times and it ends up meaning that bad news gets delayed and the donors get nothing but radio silence until it's too late and there's no hope of saving the project.

To me, it feels like a culture thing. The guys doing the restoration work want to continue to work on their baby and don't want to seem like they're asking too much or trying to tackle the impossible, but the truth is that bad news is better than no news, and people should be allowed the opportunity to have a realistic version of the hurdles involved, even if it means it's going to cost more or owning up to having made a mistake.

I'm being vague on purpose because I don't want to point fingers and say "I think this project is being mishandled" because the truth is, I don't know if it's being mishandled! There's not enough information to come to any kind of conclusion!

I think a lot of train guys would respond to this by saying 'Well, if you're so worried about it you should get involved directly.' which is the dream for sure, but I'm not really able to pick up my whole life and move to fucking Pottstown to work on the T1, as much as I'd like to! (And this is not to say the T1 Trust is a bad operation, I actually think they're the gold standard that other newbuild and restoration projects should try to emulate, this is just an example.) Realistically, the most people my age and skill level are able to do is donate, but we want to donate intelligently and we want to feel involved even if we can't be physically.

Like I said, part of it is maintaining a certain public image, the other part of it (I think) is cliquey subculture drama bullshit that happens in every hobby, and I think will eventually be the death of these kinds of projects if more isn't done to keep interest in them alive. 🔥

100% your MHA fics brought me to your blog. I even got into MHA because of your “Just for a minute.” Fic. I had no idea who the characters were but I liked your fic so much I HAD to find out. After I binged the entire anime, I started the manga (first manga I ever tried to keep up with) then reread and binged the rest of your fics with a newfound appreciation ☺️

As far as favorites go, I LOVE your entire Deku v Kacchan storyline. music.. i genuinely can't function without music lol i love it so much. i'm more of a lyrics over melody person but i don't think i'm too picky when it comes to genres. i'll listen to pretty much anything. i broke over 200k minutes for spotify wrapped last year.. hahaha.. i'm normal about it i promise reading.. i love reading and i prefer it to watching since i struggle to stay focused whenever something's on. i'll read manga, manhwa, novels, articles.. pretty much anything that interests me. i have a couple favorite books! like if we were villains, on earth we're briefly gorgeous, a little life.. i'm in a bit of a slump right now but the last thing i was reading was tender is the flesh my friends.. i refuse to get too sappy about this but i love my friends!! i'm just a very sentimental person in general so i really do cherish the unique relationships i have with everyone i talk to. i was born to love other beings and the world around me ^_^ my dogs.. i have three and i love them all so so so much. they're like my little children i adore them. i haven't been home in a week and the entire time i was gone i just wanted to see them so bad. but i'm back home now and they're with me yayyy my ocs.. they make me so happy and i get embarrassed about it sometimes. they're swirling around in my head incessantly and i can't do anything about it! i went on a trip to georgia a few months ago and while my friends were putting on music my brain was like 'this would sound nice on this oc's playlist!' sooo yeah the brainrot is bad per se.. but i'm thriving

haunted stare. the one problem with writing about cannibals is that it inevitably results in a lot of googling re: the logistics of killing and eating humans, e.g. what aqueous humour (fluid that keeps human eyeballs inflated) tastes like, and what happens to the viscosity of human blood if you freeze and then melt it

his arc in the imperium: cataclysm is absolutely fantastic and the bits where he's arguing with vincent are so entertaining

i have nothing but respect for men who are comfortable enough in their masculinity to be unashamedly switchy without feeling like it's beneath them

he talks about star trek in exactly the same way i talk about the doctor who revival so i have to give credit for that

For the ask game: least favourite Terror character 🫣😢

Fuuuck, I didn't expect this to be quite so difficult - I've been thinking about it for days!

Honestly? Incredibly unpopular opinion, but my gut-answers are Crozier and Hickey, at least as far as major characters go (as previously mentioned, I sometimes have a hard time engaging with the storylines of certain more minor characters like Sophia and Lady Jane).

Just to be clear, I DO NOT hate Crozier or Hickey. I enjoy thinking about them at great length, I find them to be fantastic, engaging characters, and I very much subscribe to the idea that they can be fantastic and engaging without having to be good people.

But with all that said - FUCK ME, are they not good people, and fuck me do I find that fact so hard to get past sometimes!
