You know, I think Lucius might be the most badass character in the entire series so far? I mean:

1. Jim is about to stab him in the face, so he distracts them long enough to whack them on head and escape

Here's my opinion. Actually, we can start with facts:

I don't wanna see this movie. I'm tired of hearing about this movie. Everything I've learned about this movie has been against my will. It's been 2 years of pre-release fatigue. I'm tired of the PR stunts, I'm tired of the obvious photo ops, I'm tired of the press leaks, I'm tired of the on set leaks, I'm tired of the "anonymous sources", I'm tired of all of it. Any interest I might've had in this movie doesn't exist anymore.

This film went into production in 2020 during a time when every single studio was panicked and desperate to figure out how they were gonna survive the pandemic. With theaters being closed, everything shut down, them losing money to streaming services. And the PR campaign for this film, which started during casting, is a direct reflection of that [studios being panicked].

Again, the budget is small, it's a $20 million dollar budget, it's not a ton of money in movie-money, and they're obviously supplementing that small budget with a never-ending PR campaign to make up for it. (edit: it went over budget to 30-40M! All the more reason for the excessive PR).

On to my opinion:

1 - Harry and Olivia are obviously in a PR relationship.

2 - The movie is not gonna do well. It's gonna tank.

3 - Florence comes off looking great. I don't know her that well, I've seen her in a few movies, she's not my generation, but whenever I see her mentioned, whether she's being slighted or supported in the PR campaign, I think she comes off looking fine. Love that she's also pretty silent in terms of press. This film wrapped a year ago (edit: it was 2 years ago) and she's probably moved on to better things at this point, and will probably just do her minimal press, which is fine. She, despite being the lead actress of this film, does not have as much at stake as the stunt queens, Harry and Olivia do.

4 - General opinion on Olivia Wilde: I'm more the same age. I remember back when she was just a rich girl socialite in NY. I love that she's into acting and into directing. But, I know she directed this film....I dated a director one time, and when his film went into post-production I didn't see that man for months because he was locked in an editing bay and would not come out for air. This chick [Olivia] was on tour with Harry Styles 2 months after production wrapped, I don't know how that worked. (edit: it was 6 months but she still fucked off to England the day after production wrapped, and the film needed extensive edits and was delayed so yeah...she was not "directing" anything really). Also, as a director she is behind the camera role, but her PR team are dead set on over-saturating her in media as the face of this title. Even putting her out more so than the actual actors in the film. Which is weird. There's a word for it, I can't figure it out (edit: I can, it's narcissism. You're welcome.). She's all up in the video, all up in the studio, all up in the radio...it's like...just say this is your vanity project and move on.

5 - Harry Styles: there is no way in god's green earth that a role that Shia Labeouf was cast in could be back-filled by Harry Styles. Harry Styles is youth marketing - that is simply it.

6 - Shia Labeouf is right. I'm sure that when Shia quit this film the studio was desperate and panicked, and went into a tailspin and said 'figure out a way to save it or we're pulling the plug'. And just like Shia has a video of Olivia begging him to stay, I'm sure Harry has a video of Olivia begging him to join this film.

DOVDH - Hoofdstuk 63-65

Hallo lezers,

Dit is een van mijn laatste posts over mijn leesdagboek. Ik vond het een leuke reis in het boek om met jullie te delen.

Dit is wat ik vanaf hoofdstuk 63 t.e.m. 65 heb gelezen:

Hoofdstuk 63, p 873

Quinten vond het lachwekkend:"Is het dan niet om je gek te lachen? Al die biddende mensen, terwijl er nu juist niets meer te aanbidden is? Alleen die malle wandelstok van jou." Ze kochten vervolgens een nieuwe wandelstok voor Onno en stapte rond. Ze kochten een platte grond en gingen naar de joodse wijk. Ze gingen naar de muur dat de enige restant was van het tempelcomplex van Herodes. Ze gingen daarna ook naar de olijfberg en de Al-Aqsa. Een ene Ibrahim, een dichter met als bijbaantje gids, vertelde een beetje meer over de stad Jeruzalem en zijn geschiedenis. Alle drie stapte ze langs de belangrijkste religieuze monumenten en plekken in de stad.

Quinten wilt de stenen terug geven aan de Joden, maar Onno wilt dat niet. De derde wereldoorlog tussen de religies zal uitbreken als dat zou gebeuren.

Hoofdstuk 64, p 894

Onno en Quinten gingen zitten aan een tafeltje op een terras. Onno legt uit hoe de Koran, Torah en de Bijbel een verband hebben met elkaar. Ze praatte over het verleden en wat ze na deze situatie gingen doen. Toen Onno keek naar een oudere vrouw die rechtstond met de tatoeage 31415 op haar arm en met lapis lazuli ogen, zweeg hij. Er was iets met hem, misschien een kortsluiting in zijn brein. Quinten was ongerust, maar Onno zei dat hij alleen moest zijn,. Toch volgde Quinten hem terug naar het hotel, om te zien of hij ok was.

In de kamer ging hij direct op het bed liggen. Had Onno nu Eva WeiB gezien, Max zijn moeder? Maar als het zo was, dan moest hij ook de onvoorspelbare consequentie onder ogen zien. Dan was Quinten niet zijn zoon, maar die van Max. Alleen door de identieit van die mevrouw 31415 vast te stellen, kon hij achter de waarheid komen.

Hoofdstuk 65, p 906

Quinten wou weten hoe het met zijn familie ging in Nederland. Toen Quinten uit het raam keek zag hij een raven, Edgar. Ineens begint Max te hallucineren of te dromen, hij weet het niet zo goed. Alle muren en deuren beginnen te verdwijnen. Hij ziet de Burcht en Edgar is een soort gids voor hem dat hem door deze plek begeleid. Quinten heeft al het gevoel van tijd en richting verloren: "Nee het is geen droom al het andere is een droom, Istrael, Italie, Nederland, - de Burcht is het enige dat werkelijk bestaat." Het enige wat nu in de ruimte was was de brandkast. Hij opent hem en pakt de koffer eruit. Hij pakt de stenen uit de koffer en houd ze vast. Edgar vliegt op zijn schouder om hem te volgen. Hij stapt rond en ineens nadert er een wit paard in galop. Het paard brengt hem ergens naar toe en zegt dan vaarwel. Hij was bij een poort. Een vrouw kijkt naar hem terwijl ze zit te bidden en voordat hij het weet kijken alle vrouwen naar hem. Ze hadden allemaal het gezicht van Ada, zijn moeder. De stenen begonnen ineens heel zwaar te voelen en hij liet ze los. Ze vielen op de grond en braken in stukjes.

Onno was ondertussen wakker geworden en klopte op de muur van Quintens kamer. Hij deed niet open en de deur was opslot met een ketting. Onno wist dat er iets aan de hand was en begon Quinten zijn naam te roepen. Hij trapte de deur open en Quinten was nergens te bekennen, het raam was te hoog om uit te springen en de deur was opslot: er moest hier iets onmogelijks gebeurd zijn. Onno ging naar de receptie om te kijken of hij nergens beneden was.

Onno belt Sophia om alles uit te leggen. Maar op het moment dat hij iets wou zeggen kreeg hij barstende hoofdpijn en ging alles zwart.

Epiloog, p 924

De twee engelen praten over de opdracht en zijn verhaal. De engel heeft gefaald en heeft zijn opdracht niet goed volbracht. Hij is daar boos over en vraagt om een antwoord,maar dat kreeg hij niet.

Dit is hoe ik mij de twee engelen voorstel:

-> Ik vind het jammer dat we een soort openeinde kregen, maar op hetzelfde moment vind ik het wel interessant dat het geen 'echt' einde heeft.

Breaking Isolation

Synopsis: With a holiday rolling around, a Guardian of the Sanctuary decides to test the waters in an attempt to give everyone a better time living there.

Word Count: 924

A/N: Had a sudden spark to write something for New Years. Unfortunately, I started writing this literally 1 hour before the roll of the year in my time zone so I'm technically late with this. Regardless, hope you'll enjoy this. Happy New Year, everyone!

A faint explosion noise suddenly echoed all over Sanctuary. Are we being attacked? We've always kept a close watch on the humans' communications channels, as Transit Protocol takes quite a while to start. We should have known earlier if an attack is going to happen. It is possible that they're using some hidden comms channel that we haven't tapped yet, but that would be unlikely.

I should probably check our communications. That noise is definitely louder from the perimeter. Something this sudden is sure to attract the attention of the perimeter watch.

[Watchers Communications Channel]

Solace >> What's going on? None of our perimeter sensors have been tripped yet.

Flux >> LIDAR isn't showing anything strange within Arrays 1 to 16.

Zeta >> Solvith says that he's not feeling any humans close to us.

Drokuzel >> Could be a distraction tactic. Just ignore it unless an alarm gets tripped.

That's a fast response time. At least all that training with sudden emergencies worked out. I'd check for souls myself, but having such a strong ability to sense souls... it doesn't work out well with this many close to me.

I should probably figure out what's going on. I manifested my disguise and opened a rift to my apartment in Aurora City. Immediately, I noticed various colors flashing from outside the window. I looked out and found lights of different colors and patterns in the sky.

Is it that time already? I guess living in a world where the passage of time isn't that important messes with your ability to tell time.

I turned the television on but found no special broadcasts. They're probably going for a test run with some of their surplus fireworks. The robots in Sanctuary would probably like to see that fireworks display. But... we can't go out of Sanctuary. One thing we could do is send a drone to the display, but that drone is going to get shot out of the sky the moment they realize that we own that drone. I could ask the military for a temporary truce, but that would be a clear violation of op-sec. I would be revealing our plans for the day to them. But, if they were to accept, that drone would be safe while it watches the display. If not, then nothing will happen.

Normally, I'd ask the other Guardians for things like this. But not now. They would most certainly decline the idea. I opened a rift to the front gate of Marshal Station. I removed my disguise, summoned my soul shield, and stepped through. Sure enough, the guard is taking cover, already calling for backup. I closed the rift behind me to show that there's no one else with me.

"I'm not here to fight," I shouted in a voice deeper than what I normally sound. "Allow me to talk to who you're answering to."

I felt some souls heading to my direction. That should be the backup that the guard called. This is going to be much harder than I thought it would be.

"We don't have to fight out here," I shouted again. "Let me speak to who you're answering to, then I'll be out as if nothing happened."

He kept hiding behind the station, occasionally peeking out to check if I'm still here. I summoned a rift towards him and walked through it. I ended up within a meter away from him. I looked at him straight in the eye and reiterated my request. He went to his radio and said, "He's asking for you."

"Say that again?" the person in the radio said.

I grabbed the radio from the guard and answered the question myself. "I'm looking for the person who is in control of containing us."

After a few seconds, the other person replied. "Who am I speaking to?"

"You're speaking to a Guardian. Now, are you going to acknowledge my request?"

The backup rolled up to our location. Soldiers came out of the vans, all pointing their weapons at me while taking cover behind their vehicles. I guess none of them have fought against magic. That vehicle wouldn't do much to protect them from fire pillars and soul-based attacks.

"For what reason do you want an audience with him?"

"I have an offer for him."

Silence enveloped all of us as I waited for a response. I looked at each of the soldiers around me, reading each of their souls. Had humans retained their magical abilities, some of them would have been adept mages. At least their weapons could fight against our magic on equal grounds, though I doubt they'd last should I unleash the entirety of my magical abilities.

"What guarantee do we have that you wouldn't kill him on sight?"

At least they know of our strength. I guess that's why they aren't attacking Sanctuary. They're scared of our power. "If I wanted to kill any of you, I would have just attacked this outpost."

"He's on the way."

I tossed the radio back to the guard and hopped to the roof of the station. I watched the soldiers talk to themselves as the situation they were in confused them. I'm guessing they were called to a demon intrusion but instead, they're face-to-face with a Guardian of the Sanctuary. I don't even know if they knew of any of us from before the Sanctuary was a fortified fortress. Or why we were even called Guardians in the first place.

I just hope that whoever leads the fight against us is someone I can reason with.
