Just a little blurb but- I can't wait until conventions slow down and I'm able to focus more on the video game.

I realized the bare bones basics of most of the world visuals is done. I think I have close to 100 maps finished right now? And 3-4 of the locations have mostly finished enemies (The AI needs tweaking for some of them but that's alright)

I know game dev isn't my job and I have to pay my bills but... MAN it's really fun.

Every time I watch this show, I am struck by how easy it would’ve been for them to make Rajan the absolute worst. They could’ve had the easiest possible route to make him just a terrible person and a bad prospect and make the good qualities he projects into this facade and shell.

And they didn’t!

Instead they were like “he is from privilege, and he sometimes is drawn to play by the same fucked up rules that allowed his family privilege, but he loves and adores this woman, not to spite his father but because of her.” And when he finds out about the other sensates and he finds out about Wolfgang he decides he loves his wife more than anything hinky in this situation, and he also kinda, when given the opportunity, realises he also loves her criminal empire German boyfriend, and I love him

Hm, I'll be honest, I've been thinking about this ask for a bit and I don't quite get what you mean by gnc Link.

My best guess is the GBC/GBA Zelda games. If that's what you meant, then absolutely! I'm currently playing Minish Cap (I've been taking my time to enjoy the game ^^). Next on my list is alttp and after that I'll probably play the Oracle games (...again. Never got too far before but I'll definitely beat them this time!)

okay all of the reviews for "severance" by ling ma said it was a hilariously deadpan satire on the post-apocalypse — and maybe that was true in 2018 — but now that i've read it i can say i probably laughed Once and felt a bone-deep nihilistic dread Constantly. the bit about the protagonist's company gifting her a self-care kit of 2 N95 masks, a nutrient bar, and an expanded insurance plan in response to a worldwide pandemic isn't really funny post-2020, it's just realism.

#good novel i felt actually insane reading how many parts of the 2020 pandemic ling ma accidentally predicted #and then felt insane experiencing Everything Else #idk i just love works about corporate gothic and alienation and shame and isolation. and severance hit like every beat #also i think the way the protagonist's immigrant experience tied in with her behaviours and the plot was just really clever #that she is essentially saved by and doomed by her lack of home. her severance from society if you will. ba dum tss #i figured out i can check out books from my library through a phone app. and then stole all my friends' library card information. im balling #beepbeep.txt #literature

I have now played enough D&D to distill a quintessential experience that everyone should go through at least once, but I do literally every time I make a character:

Make a joke character because you are just a silly little clown and this is easier for you than committing to a hard concept

Be easy-going about your backstory because it's a joke character and you don't care, haha I'm such a funny little clown

After a few sessions, fall into a deep imagination hole and develop a complicated backstory that fits into the loose ideas of what has already been revealed for your little clown, but also explains why they are such a little clown, tragically

Grow unbelievably attached to your awful little joke character

Get fucked by your dice and die or have a close brush with character death

Get emotional about the prospect of losing your stupid fucking joke character

Get equally emotional when they are saved and you get to go on pretending to be a stupid little sad clown with your friends

Be surprised when your backstory always becomes the one the DM gravitates to, because you were actually the one that fleshed it out the most and left the best hooks for them, despite the fact that you made a joke character

Get invited to another game and do the exact same damn thing all over again
