Call me a dork 🤪
A, D, I, and W for the hubbans? 🥰
Thank you for the questions 😚 For other's reference, Nathan belongs to @rindemption and any info relating to him comes from them and our shared HC's
Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?
Valen is happy doing anything as long as it's with Nathan. It could be anything from staying in all day to going out someplace for something fun. Granted, Valen is an introvert and can't do really big get togethers back to back because it tires him out. But going out to eat someplace, going to a concert, visiting a club so they can dance together, going for drives, going shopping together, those are all things Valen likes to do with Nathan. There's plenty more, like chatting in the kitchen while one of them cooks, fitting them both onto one deck chair on his balcony so they can hang out in the fresh air, playing games and watching shows together. Finding a new coffee place, going swimming, cuddling on the couch, all things he likes to do with him.
Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
The future with him looks bright, a whole lot of sunny days together. It looks like peace and contentedness, like waking up every morning together with a kiss. They're going to grow old together, Valen will retire from active field work around 50 and be a handler (safely in a facility and not out running around doing contracts) until he's 65. Nathan is going retire from mercenary work around 45 and opens up a tech/mechanic shop where he'll run it until he's too old to do the work himself.
I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
Valen was changed in plenty of ways for the better by Nathan. He got so much softer, gentler, he opened himself up willingly because he wanted Nathan to be right inside his heart. Thick, heavy walls were cracked open when his partner came along and he let them fall because he knew innately that Nathan wouldn't harm him. Valen's done a lot of healing in their time together, learning how to let himself be vulnerable again. He spent a lot of years protecting himself, being inherently threatening and dangerous. And unlike a lot of common foils, that doesn't mean he's unaware of how to be gentle; Valen knows how/wants to be sweet and loving and he has the opportunity to give all of that love to Nathan now. He's learning as he goes along how to make Nathan the happiest, and it's all growth. Leaving old habits behind, reigning in his aggression because Nathan doesn't require that of him, learning he's far more than just what he can do for other people. He understands that he isn't solely a sword and scales, he's more than that in Nathan's eyes. Gigantic pieces of development occurred now that he has Nathan in his life and it's been wonderful to watch.
Wild Card - A random fluff headcanon
They've shared and introduced plenty of things to each other and enriched each other's lives. Nathan introduced Valen to a Mexican food street vendor he really likes. He takes him on joyrides in hotwired sports cars. Some fix-it-up reality show programs and one self indulgent romantic drama. Heavy rock and brit pop bands Valen might not have known before. He's introduced Valen to the sweetest, most caring, and most fulfilling love that Valen's ever known. Valen has introduced Nathan to various house plants, teaching him their different names and how to care for them. He showed him his art and different art styles. Being excellent in combat himself, he's taught Nathan a few things about CQC. He introduced him to hearty and heavy home cooking. Valen offered Nathan a very safe and protected and comfortable place at his side where Nathan can be himself.

hi :D i was wondering if i could get a tbb ship?
i’m 22 with wavy blonde shoulder-length hair, blue-grey eyes and 5’6”! i’m studying aviation management in uni and have a huge interest in the aviation industry!
in my down time i love love love relaxing and watching videos, playing games with my friends, drawing and painting or reading! i’m a bit of an ambivert and can be super friendly and outgoing sometimes, but also enjoy keeping to myself and can get overwhelmed and socially drained… i tend to hyperfixate and ramble a lot so i worry that i bother others with my talking! i can be an extremely emotional person and i find that i cry very very easily even over small issues… i also find that i am a good listener and can empathise with others when they need to rant
my love languages are most definitely gift giving and physical touch! i love showing my friends and partners that i care for them by buying or making them things that reminded me of them or that i think they’d like! i love cuddling and holding hands and soft touches - just something to ground me and remind me i’m wanted
i love love gloomy and rainy weather and curling up and sleeping as the rain hits the windows. i prefer night to day and wanted to be an astronomer when i was younger because i loved the stars and moon so much. i find peace in these quiet times
my fashion sense can be all over the place.. i love comfy oversized loungewear but also dresses and skirts with cute heels or chunky boots! i love jewellery too and find sentimentality in the pieces i own - treasuring ones that are gifted to me or remind me of others!
thanks so much & i love your works <3 have a great day!!
Thank you 🥺 you too!
I ship you with...
Tech!
Tumblr media
Being a pilot himself (among many other things), you and Tech quickly bonded over all things aviation-related. He wanted nothing more than to show you the Marauder, and one day when it was just you and him, he got to do just that. He shyly asked if you wanted to learn to fly, and when you said yes, he got so excited!! To be fair, he did end up infodumping about the ship for over an hour before the actual lesson began, but you weren't about to complain.
Speaking of infodumping, sometimes you and he will spend an evening together just... straight up infodumping on each other. And you both love it. You both really enjoy learning and being in each other's presence, so it works out well. Once you've been together for a while, he will even let you lay your head on him while the infodumping is occurring. At first, Tech was very hesitant with physical touch; it fended to overwhelm him pretty quickly. However, as your relationship progressed, he became more comfortable with your touch- and sometimes even initiating physical contact himself.
When Tech discovered your love for astronomy, he wanted to show you so many different things! It's one thing to look at/learn about celestial objects while looking through a telescope; it's another thing entirely to be on a ship, sitting in front of those same celestial objects. He'll take you on the Marauder to see everything- nebulas, asteroid fields, gas giants, all types of stars; you name it, he takes you to see it. He loves being able to show you different parts of the galaxy and teaching you about them. It's one of the many ways he shows you how much he loves you.
-
Thanks for reading! If you want a ship request like this one, drop it in my ask box, and don't forget to reblog 💚 it may take a little bit, but I'll get to it eventually!

title: seize the day and after hours(ao3) pairing: gojo satoru/geto suguru A jujutsu sorcerer’s life is always busy, especially those of the strongest ones, so when a window of opportunity opens itself up just to relax and be with someone you care most about, one can only give in to it. Notes for this AU: In-demand jujutsu sorcerer Gojo x Teacher Geto! In this setting, Toji failed in his mission and still got k-worded, Riko successfully merged with Tengen, so Geto didn't spiral down the "I hate monkeys" hole and Gojo didn't think of becoming a teacher. \o/
“It’s of vital importance that you do not forget to put up a Curtain before you start a mission, even if you cannot see the curse at first glance,” Suguru then carefully dismantles the Curtain before five pairs of inquisitive eyes, “Can anyone tell me why?”
A hesitant hand rises up in the air.
“Yes, Nanako?”
“Uhm, because non-sorcerers might get to see if ever the exorcism becomes a big event and it’s important that we keep the matters of the jujutsu world hidden from them to keep the status quo?”
“Yes, exactly,” Suguru smiles at her. Then, upon noticing the nearby presence, he makes his voice a little bit louder, “So don’t ever forget to set up a Curtain unless you want to be like a certain someone whose magnificent accomplishment of exploding a house got featured in the news.”
“Hey Suguru, stop slandering my renowned name in front of the kids.” The ‘renowned’ Gojo Satoru saunters over to their group, distributing the several bags on his hands. “Got you all souvenirs!”
“Did I lie?”
“Nope. Totally happened.” Satoru grins cheekily, standing next to Suguru and hooking an arm around his shoulder. “Missed me?”
“We’re still having a lesson here.” Suguru flicks at Satoru’s forehead, but he doesn’t pry away from his hold. It’s been over a week since they last saw each other after all. He did miss the man. “Any contribution to make up for your disturbance?”
“Hmm, let me think…ah! If you want to exorcise curses, you’ve got to be crazier than them.”
“That’s not particularly helpful.”
“It’s because you’re unimaginative.”
In front of five unwilling audiences, Satoru clings to his side like a leech. Suguru tries with all his might to deliver the last few important points of the day’s lesson, with one of his hands keeping Satoru’s face at bay from smothering his own.
“And that’s all for today’s session. Tomorrow, we’ll discuss some preparations before your next field assignment.”
“Yay! Suguru’s mine now!” Satoru almost didn’t let him finish his final remarks, squeezing by his side even tighter.
“Gah,” Nobara is the first one to openly show her complaint about the public display of attention in front of them, “Can you please have some consideration for us single students, Gojo-san?”
“Aren’t you too young to be thinking of romance?” Satoru answers back as if he’s talking to someone of his own age. “No dating until you’ve graduated!”
“Weren’t the two of you already dating during your second year in high school?” Megumi points out without missing a beat.
“What?!” Yuji’s jaw dropped, “They’re that long already?”
“Because it’s true love, dear students,” Satoru answers confidently, providing Suguru much embarrassment.
“Anyway,” Suguru finally cuts them off, “This has been a very fruitful conversation. You can go spar now, maybe the second years are looking for sparring partners as well.”
Teacher and students finally part ways, with the teacher dragging a long clingy blindfolded man with him. Satoru recounts to him every detail of his trip the past two weeks, even those that are not related to the mission at all, and Suguru is all ears. Ever since they reached Special Grade level as sorcerers, they’ve been given fewer missions together. Sorcerers are very few, after all, and they need to maximize their numbers efficiently. Sometimes, Suguru would find himself wishing there’s some especially dangerous situation that would require both of their presence, but he’d take back the thought as soon as it’s out, still preferring this kind of stability. So for now, he can only live through Satoru’s lively retelling.
Right as they arrived at their shared room, Satoru finally ends his narration.
“Seems like it’s another breeze of a mission, huh,” Suguru pulls off the blindfold over Satoru’s eyes and smooths down his hair.
“Mhm,” Satoru wraps his arms tightly around Suguru’s waist, burying his face on the crook of his neck. “Would have been faster if you were there.”
“Do you even need me?”
“Of course! What are you talking about?” Satoru lifts his head and stares directly at Suguru’s eyes, “Individually, we are strong enough to take down the most powerful curses. But together, I bet we could take all over the world.”
“And your point being?”
“Since we’re not onto world domination yet, we can’t help but not be together all the time.”
“Idiot.” Suguru presses a finger on Satoru’s forehead, earning him a pout. “No world domination. Keeping the peace is enough.”
“Mmmm…yeah but I still want to do something about those idiotic higher-ups.”
“You’re too chaotic for your own good. How about settling here and teaching with me instead?”
“Suguru.” Satoru’s tone is suddenly serious. His hands grabbed at Suguru’s waist, pulling him close. “Is that a marriage proposal? You know I’m gonna say yes.”
“Still thinking about it.”
“What a tease.” Satoru’s fingers find their way through Suguru’s hair, undoing his bun to let his hair loose. He then leans forward, uttering lazily against his mouth, “If you don’t propose first, I might just do it ahead of you.”
“Is that a challenge?”
“Maybe.” With a smile, Satoru closes the distance with a kiss.
Suguru sighs into it, letting Satoru lazily nibble on his lips. Some days, it’s more than enough to just lay down and let time pass, no rush, no urgency, just the two of them entangled in each other’s arms. A jujutsu sorcerer’s life is always busy, especially those of the strongest ones, so when a window of opportunity opens itself up just to relax and be with someone you care most about, one can only give into it.
_ _
A familiar ringtone wakes Suguru from his sleep, his eyes opening to the darkness. The analog clock by the wall shows 07:21 PM…he has been out for a few hours. A weight is draped over him, rendering him unable to move for a moment.
“Satoru.”
“Hm?”
“Phone.”
Satoru doesn’t budge. “That’s yours.”
“Well, how can I move with you wrapped around me?”
After a slight pause, Satoru reaches for the phone himself and answers the call. “Hello? Oh, Auntie, you called! Yeah, he’s right here. Nah, you didn’t bother us at all. I’ll give the phone to him now.”
Suguru takes the call, stifling a yawn as he answers, “Hello Mom, it’s been a while.”
He watches as Satoru lazily walks to the cabinet and pulls out a set of comfortable clothes, simultaneously gracing him with an unhindered view of his naked back.
“Yeah, it’s good here, just a bit busy with the students’ upcoming field assignment…Hm? Wait let me ask,” he covers the mouthpiece and sits up, “Satoru, Mom’s asking when we can visit.”
“As soon as you’re free,” his head comes out of the shirt, hair all messy, giving him a youthful and unrestrained look, “I have all the privilege to request a leave anytime I want. I’ll go get us dinner, okay?”
“Sure, go ahead.” Suguru waves him away, returning to the phone call with his mother, “I think we can visit during the break if there’s nothing urgent. Is there something up?”
The door outside shuts close. Satoru turns to his side, his gaze landing on the frames displayed on the bedside table. The largest among them is a group picture from last winter vacation — him, his parents, Satoru, and the four kids. For some reason, it felt like a family picture, so he had it especially framed, taking center spot among the others.
“Well, the girls are always on their phones in their free time, of course, they’d be easier to contact than me. It’s a bit busy handling a class of five, they said it’s already a big batch. Yes, yes, I’ll tell them that.”
Ten years ago, after Suguru has successfully rescued Mimiko and Nanako from that one village, he immediately went to his parent's house to ask for their help. After all, what does a seventeen-year-old know about taking care of kids? His parents were initially shocked, but upon hearing the situation, they immediately took pity on the girls and gladly took them in. You’re always in Tokyo anyway, the house feels a bit empty without a kid, they said. But the girls wanted otherwise. After a bit of coaxing, Suguru managed to convince them to stay in his family’s house until at least he graduates from Jujutsu Tech, then he will take them back to Tokyo to live with him.
Little did he know, Satoru would also pick up two kids to take care of, and this was after he declared he would not babysit anymore after they completed their task with Riko two years prior. They’re not simple kids either; though they go by the surname Fushiguro, the boy — Megumi — has an inherited technique of the Zen’ins, and yet Satoru fought tooth and nail to be their guardian. Since he didn’t want them to be involved with the jujutsu world yet, he decided to let the kids stay in Sendai until Megumi has to attend Jujutsu Tech.
The twins and the Fushiguros occasionally met when Suguru would come to Sendai with Satoru, but last year’s winter, they decided to spend it in Suguru’s home much to his parents’ delight, and they were one complete family.
Suguru smiles at the memory, just as his mother finishes her long list of reminders for the kids on the other side of the phone.
“Okay, okay, you take care, too. I won’t forget. Love you. Tell Dad I love him, too. Bye.”
After stretching a bit, Suguru finally gets up from the bed and picks up his scattered clothes on the floor, dressing himself up. Just as he is about to wear his shirt, he catches sight of the marks on his body, most especially the bruising spot on the nook of his neck.
“Goddamnit, Satoru,” he mutters, coming closer to the mirror to check how badly Satoru left evidence. “Gonna make you pay next time.”
“Dinner’s here!” Just then, Satoru’s head pops from the doorway, his blue eyes peeking right above the rim of his sunglasses. He sees Suguru standing in front of the mirror, then chuckles audibly.
“Shut it.”
“What?” A sly smile grows on Satoru’s lips as he strides closer to Suguru. He caresses the bruising mark on the nook of Suguru’s neck, then bends down to lightly kiss it, murmuring, “Any complaints about my service earlier?”
“Magnificent as always,” Suguru sighs defeatedly, “The marks you leave though…”
“I made sure your uniform will hide this,” Satoru winks at him in the mirror. “Come on, I got food.”
He drags them to the dinner table where two bowls of meatballs and steaming rice are waiting for them, “Here, eat up.”
“You bought this?”
“No, the kids made that. Yuji was teaching them earlier when I dropped by. Mimiko and Nanako especially made these meatballs for you.”
“And how about the meatballs in the bowl you’re eating?”
“Megumi made this for me.”
“…”
“He made this for his friends, but I took it.”
Suguru flashes him a smile, “I love it when you’re being honest.”
“Shut up.”
“Did you really make that much of a bad first impression on that kid? I can’t believe it’s been nine years, but he still hasn’t warmed up to you.”
“I dunno,” Satoru pouts, trying to recall the memory of their first meeting together. “I wish he could rely on me more, you know, like how the girls rely on you.”
“I do think they rely too much on me, I’m still wondering if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Well, I guess it’s because they see me as a parental figure, too. Does Megumi see you like one?”
“…”
“Figured as much. He doesn’t know about the real deal from your negotiations with the Zen’in clan, doesn’t he?”
“No need to tell him that. I don’t want him to feel indebted either way.”
“Mm-mh,” Suguru smiles. Satoru can be such an insensitive prick sometimes, but when about the most important matters, his compassion pulls through. “Megumi’s such a spoiled child with you.”
“As if you’re not spoiling the twins yourself? Why is Mimiko’s phone new again?”
“Ah…her previous one got destroyed while on a mission with Nanako last week. Of course, I had to buy a new one immediately.” Suguru reaches into Satoru’s plate and grabs one of the meatballs, quickly eating it before Satoru can complain. “Unlike you, buying stuff for Megumi and Tsumiki even though they don’t need it yet. A good thing those two kids have a sound head above their shoulders. You’re such a bad influence — huh, these meatballs sure have so much ginger.”
In revenge, Satoru steals one of Suguru’s meatballs as well, munching on it with much gusto, “Gonna have to use my money somewhere, you know, since you still don’t want to marry and all.”
“Can we get married here in Japan?”
“Mmm, I don’t think so. Not yet. Flying to another country to make it happen is no big problem though, just say the word.”
“Since when have you been a fan of formalities?” Suguru raises an eyebrow at him, “Don’t use me as an excuse to squander your fortune.”
“Come on! Think of it: when we get married, you’ll be officially under the Gojo clan. We’ll have two Special Grades in one family, the higher-ups would be so pissed!”
“You!” Suguru gives him a light kick underneath the table, “And here I thought you’re being serious. Turns out you just want to get under those old men’s nerves.”
“Of course, I’m serious! Just noting out the fact that there’s that bonus,” Satoru grins, wiggling his eyebrows, “What do you think?”
So many years have passed, it can be said that they’ve also developed in different aspects. But in simple moments like this, Suguru is reminded that though the two of them have grown together, many things never really change through the passing of time. Just like when Satoru once suggested the idea of going against Master Tengen and he readily agreed to it, this newer plan doesn’t seem less achievable. What’re a few higher-ups with the two strongest jujutsu sorcerers in Japan?
Finally, Suguru grins back, “Sounds like a great deal to me.”

Playing Favorites (part 1)
...here we are not! Or are we?
Anyways, I’m on a ranting streak and I would like to present you with a verbose post about my favorite TS2 premades and why I love them.
It’s gonna be TOP 3! Or... more like TOP 5! No no no, still too few. TOP 10, maybe?
TOP 15 TS2 Premades (according to my personal tastes on 22. 04. 2021) (not in any particular order)
Erin Beaker (Strangetown)
Tumblr media
Erin, the ray of sunshine in the Beaker clan. I headcanon her as a very smart but naive young woman who has just returned to Strangetown after graduating with a psychology degree from the La Fiesta Tech. In a fanfic I’m writing she joined Law Enforcement to put her “psychic powers” to use for “catching bad guys and protecting people” but she quickly becomes disenchanted with the actual police-work and starts her own little “adventure” to uncover the truth behind Strangetown’s most infamous mysterious deaths. In my current gameplay she’s in the Paranormal career.
The slow realization that all of her colleagues are scam artists and she might not have any powers either, almost destroyed her. But she didn’t give up. Yes, she may not have “powers” yet but that doesn’t mean she is not going to obtain them. And oh boy, she is. She builds ties with other residents, building her influence, collects skills and rare magical objects and travels a lot to understand and obtain mythical knowledge.
It’s not like she’s building a cult! It’s not how it looks, I swear! She’s way too nice to be a cult leader!
...she’s totally building a cult, although she doesn’t realize it yet.
I love Erin because she is a very flexible Sim. I find it very engaging to play a Sim that has such a different set of beliefs to mine. (Erin would be an anti-vaxxer and a user of essential oils and healing crystals, let’s accept the painful truth.) She also has a very interesting implied dynamics with her brother and with the rest of the Singles squad. She starts with a moderately low relationship with Chloe and it’s always interesting to see where it leads.
In conclusion: High intelligence, low wisdom queen.
Tumblr media
Ripp Grunt (Strangetown)
Tumblr media
There is something extremely relatable about Ripp. For me it’s the mystery of them growing up badly both toddler-to-child and child-to-teen, despite having been taught all toddler skills and their parents being still together and their mother still being alive. I read that as them struggling with depression since early childhood.
Maybe their parents’ relationship was already in a terrible shape when they were a small child and that’s the reason for their suffering? But Tank and Buck both grew up well under the same conditions which would indicate that there were more issues young Ripp was facing.
As you probably noticed, I headcanon Ripp as being too cool for the gender binary, using both he/him and they/them pronouns.
Anyway, there are many reasons to like Ripp. They stand up against their family’s xenophobia, violent nature and militarism. Having highest relationship with Buck out of the whole family, it is implied they’re a caring older sibling. Also, they’re framed as the underdog in the household, the trademark black sheep of the bunch who is never good enough, and are being actively mistreated by their emotionally distant macho father and physically abusive older brother.
Because of their amount of nice points and their rebellious nature (social conventions what?), I always play Ripp as polyamorous. They’re a Romance Sim, therefore they simply won’t be satisfied with just one partner in the long run but a wholesome consensual non-monogamy simply suits them better than the cheating bonanza Romance Sims often initiate, at least in my interpretation of the character. Let me just enjoy that and not think too much about the fact that since they grew up poorly two times, their life is probably going to be a relatively short one.
In conclusion: Have I mentioned that Romance is my second favorite aspiration?
Tumblr media
Vidcund Curious (Strangetown)
Tumblr media
Yes, him.
Vidcund is a very unpredictable Sim. He tends to cause a lot of trouble (3 nice points...) and generally sails through life being a jerk. But... A scientist? Unpopular? Cranky? Eccentric? That’s my kind of jerk.
You see, Vidcund’s not your average plant-loving conspirator, he has another side. He has a hidden Family token which makes him act a bit more Family Sim-ish. As a result of that, Vidcund tends to be a very attentive and protective father/uncle.
In my current gameplay, I gave him Family as a secondary aspiration to even strengthen this trait of his. It had mostly positive results but it did make him seem and act even more lonely.
I find Vidcund relatable even though I’m almost his exact opposite personality-wise. Maybe it is because I project my own autistic traits onto him? Maybe it is because he stands out like a sore thumb everywhere he goes (both fashion-wise and in behavior) and no matter what he does he always comes off a bit silly and somehow vulnerable?
I also love how if Strangetown is your main hood, if a Sim uses a telescope during the day anywhere in the game world, Vidcund makes the effort to travel there just to lecture them. It’s like a “Summon Vidcund” spell!
In conclusion: Playing Vidcund Curious is good for my soul.
Tumblr media
Jill Smith (Strangetown)
Tumblr media
In the shadow of her very popular brother, there is a little girl that will surely conquer the world someday.
Don’t worry, I love Johnny as much as the next person but my favorite member of the household is his little sister, Jill.
She has a vision. A very ironic one, given that she dreams about working with the sea creatures one day while living in the farthest possible place from the ocean but... if it’s ironic, it’s iconic.
Although she does have a token (Popularity) which makes her a bit more unique, there isn’t that much to the actual canonical portrayal, given that she is a small kid when you first play the Smiths and she has little going on for her aside of what is described in her bio. I mean, almost all kids act like they had a Popularity token anyway, the Grow Up aspiration is full of friend-making and socialization in general. But!
What she lacks in the Maxis character-building department, she makes up for in the sheer potential of what you could do with the character.
A human-passing half-alien hybrid who is, moreover, a member of the (in)famous scientist clan (...that what the Curious’ deserve to be)! She has the perfect balance of interesting and peaceful to be that Sim you can do anything with.
In my personal gameplay, she grew up to a teen and I chose Knowledge as her aspiration. She is friends with several stray animals, including the pack leader, so maybe there is a werewolf transformation in her future. She also rolled gay. She’s my laid-back lesbian disaster that knows more about the animal kingdom than pretty much anybody else in Strangetown, takes splendid care of her fish, hopelessly crushes on Lucy Burb and I love her to bits.
In conclusion: She deserves all the love and a career in Oceanography when she’s grown up.
Tumblr media
Also, this post is getting massive even for my standards so I’ll cut it here and do the list in several parts.

Do you have any Demon Martha headcanons? How do you think her reunion with Mrs. Mayberry (The teacher who paid for her assassination) in hell would go?
OK YES I HAVE HEADCANONS FOR THIS HERE WE GO --
MARTHA HEADCANONS <3
So, I’m gonna start with her before she died so I can fully get into why every part of her is the way she is as a demon.
Martha is light skinned Latina woman with family coming from Venezuela. Her mother has a much darker skin tone than her, but her father is far more light-skinned, where she gets her complexion from. While she was raised in America, her parents were immigrants. She was born at home, and she didn’t get a birth certificate until she was four, the year before she started schooling.
She has three older brothers. They were very rambunctious with Martha as a child, pulling pranks on her/with her, taking her hunting, etc.
She was raised out on a farm in the middle of a forested area in Kentucky. They raised cattle, sheep, chickens, and horses. Martha’s main job on the farm was to groom/ride horses and feed chickens.
She learned her sharp-shooter skills in a more intense version of something like 4H unique to her area. She was fantastic with a bow and arrow, and even better with her firearms.
Cannibalism was normalized in Martha’s life from a young age. She knew that it must be kept secret from the outside world, and that it wasn’t accepted. However, it wasn’t something she found to be horrid.
Her family -- and their close friends -- came from a long lineage of Satanic cultists that practiced cannibalism to purge any bit of, “soul” remaining in the corpses of their sacrifices. Due to this, Martha had evolved to be able to be immune to the ill side effects of cannibalism, along with the ability to not feel repulsed by the idea of eating human meat.
Her favorite part of the body growing up was the brain, and it still is to this day. She loves the frontal lobe slathered in spices and hot sauce.
She began her cultish killings at age fourteen, when she officially joined the cult of her family’s descent -- Compañerismo de la Fruta Prohibida (Fellowship of the Forbidden Fruit, a refrence to their following of Lucifer)
Martha didn’t love Raphael Peterson, or, “Ralphie”. She was married of to him at age sixteen, when she became a, “Woman” in the cult’s eyes. They were both meant to appear as an ideal couple so that people wouldn’t suspect them, as their parents before them have.
Ralph and Martha always saw each other as friends with benefits.
They moved to Dayton, Tennessee to start their family when they turned eighteen.
In Nashville, Martha started singing to music her husband played in Taverns. Think Dolly Parton style music. She sounded a lot like that.
Their first child was born when Martha was eighteen: Their daughter, Jolene Peterson. Two years later, they had their son, Beau Peterson.
Martha was always really involved with her kids’ school activities, and she was always volunteering to work events, and her kids were in every activity they could be.
She used her physical attractiveness to seduce and kill men.
While sex favorable, Martha is on the aspec -- greysexual (sexual pleasure is irrelevant to her, and she only engages in it to appease her partner generally. She only finds sexual attraction in people while in the act.) Because of this fact, Martha only has affairs for the sake of gaining trust to bring the men home so they can be killed and eaten.
When Martha was shot, the community villainized Mrs. Mayberry because the town darling, Martha Jane Nunez Robles-Peterson, would NEVER cheat, right? The situation was misread: Martha was just talking to Jarold Mayberry that night about t-ball-related things, right? He WAS the the little league captain for her 6-year-old-son’s league, wasn’t he?
Martha was gifted millions by the community, and people were insanely supportive of her. They wanted the sweet Martha they, “knew” to get better soon. They loved her so -- such a darling woman!
Her music became more well known, and soon, Martha was all over TV. Her big musical break came from when she auditioned for American Idol and made it. Her sob-story propelled her, and she eventually won.
Martha was a hero to everyone around her -- surviving a traumatic event that was uncalled for, while also being so damn chipper and kind.
Hell, did you guys see the background in one of those scenes?! Martha was canonly proclaimed a SAINT! People loved her that much.
She used the public trust to lure in more victims and never be suspected.
Martha was 28 when she died. Ralphie was 28 as well. Jolene was 10, and Beau was 8.
Ralphie managed to survive the explosion, albeit he was completely paralyzed, and the two children went to heaven. Ralphie repented during his last month alive, and confessed to his crimes. He was sent to heaven as well.
Martha and the children were declared to have died in a bear attack, as Compañerismo de la Fruta Prohibida covered up their true demise with ease.
People were heart broken -- Martha’s music was used in sad collages on Youtube, Tik Toks had Martha’s face in them for memorials.
No one ever realized her crimes.
Now! As a demon....
In hell, Martha picked up the alias Hero -- it’s what she was in life, right? I’ll be calling her Hero from now on.
Hero is both different and similar to how she was when she was alive. She’s still the got her kind-hearted, southern mama vibe going for her: She tends to be able to fit into any demonic crowd well, either by attractiveness or by sheer, overwhelming allure -- she’s a very magnetic personality.
As far as powers go, Hero’s are mostly related to firearms. She’s acquired these powers through deal making and soul dealing, as most demons do. Her charming aura very quickly lure people into thinking she’s naive or really just being honest with them.
Her nails can peel back to allow her to shoot from, “finger guns”. Each finger is a different gun, besides her middle and index fingers. They are both shotguns. Together, they make a double barrel shotgun.
When in full demonic form, Hero’s bandages become sentient. They peel away from her wound, revealing a minigun like weapon in the hole in her head. This can rapid fire while the bandages can grab onto things or hoist Hero up. She can make this last for five minutes -- ten at the longest -- before she gives out to sheer exhaustion and needs to eat demon meat to replenish herself.
Within her first week in hell, she was known to be powerful. Not quite an overlord, but powerful enough to hang around overlords.
She hit overlord status three months later, during the terf war seen in Hazbin Hotel’s pilot: She took several areas of land, and was seen to have several lesser demons flocking to be on her good side.
Hero used her land to build up a bar and grill that serves strictly demon meat and blood, where demons can play music and dance. It’s like a fucked up country dinner. It’s an insanely popular addition to Cannibal Colony, where she lives.
The place is called La Cocina de la Calle Kuru (The Kuru Street Kitchen)
Hero REALLY wants to get her hands on exterminator tools, but she’s not really a fan of black market deals -- it’s too “trashy” for her.
Hero knows Alastor pretty well, as he’s came in for meat and to watch the music. They’ve had pretty decent conversations while she was on break, seeing as they were both influential  southern, cannibalistic serial killers. It’s a running gag between them where they jokingly talk about who was more iconic -- “I bet I took out more belles in a lifetime than you could in your entire afterlife!” “Well hon, at least I could eat the brains without gettin’ Kuru!”
She talks to Rosie a lot about business, and has met Niffty and Mimzy before. (Al hooked a bitch up with some friends lmao)
She REALLY likes Mimzy. She reminds her of Ralphie, and they became super fast friends.
Vox and Hero have a confusing sort of friendship, as neither really wants to be seen with the other -- In his case, because she’s much lower on the overlord spectrum than him, and in her case, because she’s no stranger to Alastor and Vox’s hatred for one another. However, she often finds herself consoling Vox on sleepless nights after closing up the bar, trying to convince him that Valentino is NOT worth his time. Beyond that and him occasionally paying her back in tech at random hours of the morning, they don’t talk often.
Hero LOVES dancing! Like, a lot.
She’s seen Charlie’s ad for the Happy Hotel. Her and Mimzy watched it, and they both thought it was the stupidest damn thing they’d ever seen. However, Hero said she was happy Charlie got up there, because she was just, “Cute as a button, that lil’ sweatpea was!”
Hero’s best friends are Mimzy and an unnamed demon who specializes in black market, extermination tool selling (the one seen in in Addict -- Cherri Bomb’s former lover).
These two people, and these two people alone, can call her “Martha”
Hero cooks whenever she’s stressed. She also adores sewing and binging soap operas and reality shows on Voxflix.
Hero’s Instagram would be, “HeroicMelodies” in reference to her music career and name.
Hero gets hit on A LOT, and she despises it. She doesn’t need to seduce people anymore to get away with murder, and she doesn’t want to. She dresses the way she does because she LIKES that clothing. People can fuck off.
The reason Hero is white and pink is to show how innocent she looks. Her pitch-black eyes show her dark soul.
Hero sings in Spanish to herself when cleaning up.
Sometimes, Hero and Rosie spend holidays going around with ground demon meat to throw to the hell crows and other critters. They find it peaceful.
Hero, shockingly, holds no hatred for I.M.P., and commonly jokes about how the I.M.P.’s, “Did her a favor” by sending her somewhere she can actually be her. She has no idea who called for the hit, though.
Hero finds Blitzo’s Instagram posts being poorly spelled to be, “Damn near precious”.
She thinks he’s a teenager, and probably would think it less adorable if she knew he was a grown man with a grown kid.
Hero doesn’t care about Mrs. Mayberry at all. Like, at all. She honestly assumes the woman is in heaven. She knew Mayberry wasn’t bad -- she probably wouldn’t care if she was in hell, though. Oh well. Sucks to suck, bitch.
Husk frequents La Cocina de la Calle Kuru to drink and engage in the gambling scene. Hero finds him trashy, but can’t say she hates him. She finds him funny as hell, and enjoys the business. Just not someone she’d personally hang out with.

for the symbols ask, would you mind all of them that you havent yet done for vader? you have very good opinions on him and i would like to hear them
Aw, thank you! Although man that is A LOT of Vader headcanons left to do :D But I like writing random stuff about him, soooo... Sad:
Vader still remembers all the Jedi younglings' names.
Angry/Violent:
I mean, what in Darth Vader's life *isn't* angry/violent? Lol. The particular way that he uses the Dark Side produces a really fucked up feedback loop: he's angry and in various forms of pain all the time, which produces an energy he can channel into violence, which produces self-hate and further pain, which produces more energy. Lather, rinse, repeat.
A lot of Palpatine's work with Vader is simply about managing this loop and adjusting as necessary. Giving him enough outlets for his rage that he doesn't just combust where he stands and start breaking things he isn't supposed to; tormenting him enough, and giving him the tools to self-torment, so that it never quite subsides into peace.
This isn't the only way of using the Dark Side, but it's a common one for Sith warriors; both Maul and Kylo Ren use something similar.
Sex:
Disabled people can, too have sex - it just takes a little more creativity. Vader has plenty of creativity, as well as magic super powers. If he doesn't indulge in such things - which, honestly, in canon he probably doesn't - then it's due to psychological factors: a conservative upbringing and ascetic lifestyle, unresolved grief for his wife, self-hate, depression, not wanting to let anyone in that close, etc.
Anyways if I see one more "BuT hIs DiCk DoEsN't WoRk" post here on Tumblr dot com, as if that body part is all that sex boils down to, I may actually scream.
Living Quarters:
When he's meditating in his stupid lava fortress, Vader senses the Dark Side nexus underneath him as if it's a living being, a kind of elemental lava spirit. Sometimes he talks to it in his head. (Is it "really talking" back to him? Is he just carrying out a strange symbolic drama in his own head? Don't ask - if you don't intuitively understand how a spiritual experience can be both these things at once, then you're not on Darth Vader's level.)
His favorite thing about the lava river is that it isn't Palpatine. Vader of all people knows how destructive lava is, but lava is direct and straightforward. It doesn't lie to him. It doesn't play games on purpose just to jerk him around. It just flows on and burns what's in its path, and there are days when Vader finds that both relatable and soothing.
Romantic:
Vader has a weakness for partners who are older than him, brave, smart, outwardly stable (the insides may vary), have a cute accent and strong negotiation and leadership skills, feed him attention in measured amounts, and are convinced they know better than him about everything. Padmé and Tarkin (and Obi-Wan, for that matter) all fit this type...
Friendship:
I mean, Vader doesn't really have friends, though. He is capable of forming really intense attachments to a few specific people, and tolerating others because of their competence, but anything in between those ends of the spectrum? Doesn't really compute. Vader does not chill or hang out or make pleasant conversation, not a lot of room for friends here.
Even as Anakin, he was a little like this. It was harder to tell, because his social circle was a lot bigger then - there were way more people in the "would die for them" circle, and way more who he went out of his way to be nice to, even if they weren't exactly close. But all of these social relationships involve some kind of power relation. Anakin has masters and fellow generals and an apprentice; he has favorite loyal troops and a favorite droid; he has a Supreme Chancellor who is being very nice to him for some reason. These are all people he works with, or who want something from him; he doesn't really have anyone he hangs out with just for the sake of hanging out with them. Padmé is the closest he gets to that, and even with her, he’s acting out a romantic role in the way that he thinks is expected of him so that he’ll deserve her love. (And doing a bad job of it, because Anakin is awkward, but never mind.)
Anakin has a huge heart and many attachments, don't get me wrong. But I don't think he's ever fully grasped the idea of a social connection that doesn't revolve around one of the people involved being useful to the other.
Quirks/Hobbies:
(I already did a “workshop/tinkering” one, so here’s a “flying” one...)
Vader's special experimental prototype TIE fighter is in constant need of repairs because of how recklessly he flies. It's not even that he crashes into things - it's just wear and tear because you're not actually supposed to yank the throttle that hard every damn time you turn the ship, Lord Vader, seriously how are you not passing out from those g-forces.
Vader is genuinely confused why the techs keep complaining. Podracers are used to having to rebuild their entire pod after every race. By that standard, he's doing great.
Childhood:
Tiny little bb Anakin wasn't actually any angrier than normal, at least by the standards of traumatized child slaves. Like, he was about at par. There were plenty of angrier ones. You couldn't have looked at him, in comparison to the other child slaves doing similar jobs in Mos Espa, and said "oh yeah that one in particular is gonna have anger and attachment issues."
He did stand out from the other kids, though, on account of just being a weird little nerd. He built a whole droid and a racing pod by himself and his master didn't even make him do it! He keeps talking about how he's going to be a Jedi and fly all around the galaxy and save the planet and marry a queen, when everybody knows there are at least three good reasons why that's wrong. He thinks random customers who come into his shop are his new friends! Anakin is just... weird. Off in his own little world. The other local slave kids know not to be too mean to him because he will always help you out in a pinch, and he is really good with machines, but other than that, I dunno, would you wanna hang out with Mr. I’m Gonna Be A Special Jedi?
Shmi sees this dynamic happening, but there's not much she can do, except to give Anakin all the love and reassurance that she wishes he was getting from his peers.
Cooking/Food:
Idk the Wookieepedia says that Vader can eat nutrient paste out of a straw in his mask if he wants to, but he doesn't want to because it tastes awful. So my questions here are (a) considering everything else they have to do, how can the suit's recesses possibly fit enough nutrient paste inside them for Vader's needs, and (b) seriously we're how many years in the future and we can't even make a nutrient paste that tastes good? We haven't even hit on "bland"? For the Emperor's chief enforcer, whose personal care budget is virtually unlimited? Yeah no, I'm calling canon error on this one. He can't eat, or it's too much trouble to get food into him with the other life support, so he's tube-fed. That's my headcanon.
Appearance:
Vader is very muscular. (This isn't really a "head"canon? He's literally played by a bodybuilder? But some fans disagree, so, eh.) He was already tall and strong when he was Anakin, but the suit adds height and it adds a LOT of extra weight that he has to be able to carry around with him literally every time he moves.
His recovery process after Revenge of the Sith involved having to learn how to move again, with new prosthetic limbs and horrifying new chronic injuries, basically from the ground up, and having to do it well enough that he could sword-fight Jedi Masters to the death, and he had to put on a ton of muscle in order to do that.
Palpatine was very strict in the nutrition and exercise regimes he imposed for this purpose. I have a sneaking suspicion that steroids were also involved.

Dean Winchester and Cas Devereaux, seniors, are roommates and best friends. Cas is the president of the beekeeping club, and he eventually cajoles Dean into coming to a couple meetings. Meanwhile, Dean is struggling with his relationship with his estranged father, whether or not he’ll get to graduate, and the fact that he’s maybe, kinda-sorta, almost definitely in love with Cas. Pair those things with his lack of confidence, a sudden road trip home to Kansas, a nosy creative writing professor, and the fact that he might be drinking too much—Dean’s a wreck who believes he has no future. With the Marshals compromised and Castiel being framed for murder, he and Dean are on the run from KGB and law enforcement alike. He’s the perfect one night stand...that is, until Dean decides he wants an instant replay of what was supposed to be a one-time event. Married life in the compound for a month was not as blissful so when he could, Dean fought for that freedom. Castiel relented and as Dean tried to put the pieces of his normal life together, getting a bike messenger job and dealing with pain in the ass clients, he now also needs to deal with the dangerous presence of his very jealous and very protective husband watching over him.                                                       Venture
Entrapta places her recorder in her pocket, done for the time being. There have been advancements in the settlement on Beast Island. It continues to grow in size and technology, and contains more portals than other places on Etheria. Most places only have one portal, with Bright Moon having a few. The Whispering Woods contains the second-highest amount after Beast Island, predominantly so that if anyone gets lost, they will eventually find a portal and land in one of the main kingdoms, with that particular portal having that kingdom’s crest.
She and her lab partner have been diligent in the upkeep of Beast Island. It had taken time for the island to become fertile. First One’s tech had buried its roots deep within the earth, far below what anyone but drones could see. Soil had melded with machine, somehow: dirt containing minerals that were not of Etheria, and when they attempted to dig out the First One’s tech—mostly from the other princesses’ insistence that it be done—they learned their mistake when slumbering beasts and inanimate plants had sprung to life and attempted to kill them. That had been terri-fun-fying!
But it did confirm what Hordak and she suspected: Beast Island and the First One’s tech had morphed into one gigantic organism. A problem to be sure, however, they also proposed a radical hypothesis: by changing the code of First One’s tech, they could alter the parasitic relationship to a symbiotic one. That had been a major doozy, since there was so much, but it worked! The island had released its many species from its catatonic state, and they had called She-Ra to aid the process run smoother with her magic.
The First One’s tech proved to be a valuable asset in not only repairing Beast Island, but creating a thriving metropolis that used the natural resources and ancient machinery available. Buildings, bridges, plumbing, aqueducts, everything made by Horde clones was molded around the landscape. They were determined to function alongside the proper residents of Beast Island.
It really surprised everyone how well they behaved when not obeying the rules of a tyrannical madman.
Entrapta found life on Beast Island exciting and peaceful at the same time. Being the princess of Dryl, she would still go to her old home, but she pretty much gave it to Wrong Hordak and the other clones who desired to live a little closer to the other kingdoms, to mend relations and have a better comprehension of the way Etheria works. Hordak’s brothers were curious, inventive and engaging once they were free, and went through rehabilitation to cope with the loss of Prime.
They were all so cute!
Entrapta looks to her left, watching Hordak move around the room. He keeps his eyes on the clipboard, hair falling over his forehead. He taps the back of it with his fingers, humming to himself as he kneels down to inspect a piece of equipment.
Entrapta smiles, propping her cheek against her hand.
Hordak senses a gaze on him, and he looks at her, smiling, “Did you need anything?”
“No, I’m content,” she says. But none as cute as him.
                                                                -
Odessa disembarks first, greeted by several of her uncles, her parents and siblings. Imp flies toward her, landing lightly against her back. She instinctively moves to the piggyback position, kissing his cheek. Emily whirs happily, and she leans over to kiss the top of her dome.
“Find anything fascinating?” Imp plays back in Entrapta’s voice.
“Yes! There was a lot on the flagship that we had to explore,” she says.
“Ooh, what’d you get?” Entrapta herself asks, hanging upside down from a rafter.
“I’ll show you in a bit. Right now, I need these two to go,” Odessa says, annoyed.
“Your friends?” Hordak asks, confused.
“No,” she points at Adam and Molly, who are standing behind Tristan and Hydrangea.
“What are you two doing there?” Entrapta asks.
Adam, shameless, grins at her, “Oh, we snuck up on the ship! It was awesome!”
Entrapta blinks, surprised by this development. She furrows her brows, “Wait, so you two were on the ship for that long?”
“Yeah, it was great!” Adam says, jumping over to stand by Odessa. “Can’t wait to do it again!”
Odessa glares at him, the urge to grind him underfoot intense, “You could’ve jeopardized the mission!”
“Uh, but we didn’t? I don’t see the problem,” Adam replies, folding his arms.
“The problem is that we had to have two additional people on board! Our supplies were meant for three, you’re lucky we had spares!”
Entrapta moves in, looking at Adam, holding his arms out with her hair, “Ooh, so you used my suits! Tell me, did it affect your mobility? What was your heartrate? Can you grab me your suit so I can scrape your skin cells off the inside?”
“Mom, please,” Odessa begs. “I want to yell at this idiot!”
“I know, sweetie, but can’t it wait ‘til after I pluck some hairs?”
“No way, you can’t go plucking my hair!” Adam protests.
Odessa whirls on him, poking his shoulder not-too-gently, “You get involved with my mission and you think you’re in any position to object to anything!”
Hydrangea approaches her, “Des, calm down.”
“I’ll calm down when he gets out of my sight! Having to deal with you for this long was torture!”
Entrapta hovers over Adam’s head, measuring his body with her tape, lost in thought.
“Entrapta,” Hordak says, getting her, and their, attention. “Perhaps this is the time to lay out ground rules.”
“Oooh, gotcha!” Entrapta swings over to him, sitting atop her hair in a swift motion. She nods at Hordak.
He walks forward, hands behind his back, coming up to Adam and Molly. Molly shrinks under his scrutiny, while Adam has the decency to look like he fucked up for once. “I will send the two of you home by portal immediately. I will be speaking with your mothers to inform them of your behavior, to ensure neither of you tell them anything different.”
Molly groans inwardly, knowing she’ll be the only one to care. Adam is likely forgetting everything as it’s said.
Adam’s ears flatten against his head, annoyed, “Dude, no offense, but we didn’t do anything to risk her mission.”
“It is not a matter of you managing to be competent aboard the ship,” Hordak chastises. “It is the matter that you were not privy to the information or mission itself to begin with. Your inability to think ahead has always been a problem.”
“But—”
“Do not argue with me,” Hordak whispers, deadly quiet, leaning close. At Adam’s silence, he pulls back. “The two of you will accompany me to the portal now. Come.”
Adam keeps from huffing, crossing his arms, ears pressed to his head. Molly rubs her left arm, looking over her shoulder.
Tristan meets her gaze, giving her a reassuring smile.
With that, she follows her brother and Hordak.
Odessa turns to her mother once they’re out of range, “I found some things on the ship that I know you’ll be interested in.”
Entrapta squeals, “Oooh, I can’t wait to see it!”
Hydrangea yawns, patting Entrapta’s shoulder, “I’ll have to see you all tomorrow, I need to go home and see how things have been.”
“Aaaaw, so soon?” Entrapta asks.
“Unfortunately,” Hydrangea says, hugging her tight. “I’ll be back later after I get some rest.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow, Gea,” Odessa says, opening her arms for a hug of her own. Hydrangea shakes her a little, the two laughing, before heading toward the portal. Odessa looks up, “What about you, Tris?”
He shrugs, “I don’t have anywhere to be.”
“You’re welcome to hang out with us!” Entrapta shouts.
Emily spins in place, beeping with excitement.
“Awesome,” Tristan says, giving Imp a high-five as he flies around his head. “I can hang out with your siblings while you and your Mom talk science.”
Odessa touches her mother’s shoulder, “So, do you think Dad is going to be gone a while?”
“He does have to talk to Adora and Catra, so probably,” she replies.
“Okay, because maaaybe I should show you one of the things I found without him.”
Tristan raises a brow, while Entrapta blinks in puzzled silence.
                                                              -
“Oh my,” Entrapta breathes, peering into the case. “That’s my girl! Not a single mark or blemish on it.”
Odessa grins, “I know! It came out perfect.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to let your dad know?” Entrapta asks a second time. “I think he might find it interesting, too.”
Odessa’s lips are pursed for a moment, folding her arms across her chest. She sighs, “It’s not that I don’t want to tell Dad. I’ll ask him some questions to hint about it, I suppose, but I don’t know how he will feel about it.”
“I think it would be best to be upfront,” Entrapta says.
Odessa bites her lip, uncertain.
Entrapta continues to study the brain in the jar. These discoveries could be important, but she understands her daughter’s concern. Hordak has been making reparations for decades now, but when it enters especially sensitive territory about his time serving Horde Prime, he becomes sullen, despondent and incapable of holding a good mood. She doesn’t blame her husband either. That’s a part of his past that continues to pain him. The years have softened his heart, and he feels shame and guilt every day for things he had done. She doesn’t want to lie to him, but she doesn’t want to hurt him either.
She imagines that’s how her daughter feels. Ethical dilemmas are her least favorite kind.
“I will see how he feels by implication,” Odessa reaffirms. “I won’t do more than that, at present.”
Entrapta nods, not liking any of this, but standing by her child’s decision. She takes the jar in her hands, “We will study it later. Why don’t you go and take this to your room?”
“Alright, I’ll put it away real quick. I’ll be back to show you and Dad the other thing I found,” Odessa says, jumping toward the ceiling and heading into the vents.
Entrapta sighs, then her smile returns when she hears Hordak’s voice from behind, conversing with Tristan.
“You’re more than welcome to spend the night,” Hordak offers, clasping his hands behind his back. “We have plenty of rooms to accommodate your needs.”
Entrapta bounds over, eager, “We’re having mini pancakes in the morning!”
Tristan smiles at them, “Thank you! I’d be happy to.”
Odessa hops down at this moment, grabbing him into a headlock, “Cool! If Gea was here, it’d be like old times!”
Chuckling, Tristan pats her forearm, signaling for release, and she obliges. He gives a yawn and stretches, “I’m gonna head to bed, then.”
“Imp, Emily, can you show him to his room?” Odessa asks.
More than happy to, the three exit the room, leaving Odessa and her parents in the sanctum. She walks to her bag, “There wasn’t much on the flagship, but I did discover this.”
Hordak and Entrapta stare at shining fragments, clattering softly on the table. Entrapta holds one in a hair strand, “Pretty! Where was this?”
“It seemed to have been located in one of Prime’s trophy rooms.”
“Look, hon,” Entrapta says, holding it up to Hordak. “The craftsmanship for this must’ve been delicate and precise.”
Hordak takes it between his fingers, inspecting it slowly, quietly. It does have an air of elegance. He somewhat recalls seeing it before in that room. Lined with trinkets from planets no longer around. Hordak frowns, placing it on the table, “Did you find anything else?”
Odessa considers her words carefully. She says, “I did find an area that had past Primes.”
“Was it intact?”
“More than we expected.”
“Did anything of consequence come about?”
“I did interact with one of the bodies,” Odessa tells him. “But it’s nothing that important.”
Hordak peers closely at her, and Entrapta glances at the ground, trying not to pull down her mask.
“An entire vicinity filled with inanimate bodies, and you didn’t do anything with them?” Hordak asks.
“Not really. I turned one on by accident, though, so I got to take a close look at it.”
“That must’ve been elucidating, on some degree, I suppose,” Hordak scowls, tilting his head. He adds, “Well, there’s no need to go to the flagship anymore.”
“I know, Dad,” Odessa says, sitting on the table. “That part’s done with.”
Hordak pats her head, an unexplainable relief coming to him.
Odessa’s stomach grumbles, and she gives a sheepish grin, “Oh, guess I’m hungry.”
Entrapta beams, “Late-night snacks! We got lots of fizzy drinks! I missed my little drinking buddy.”
Laughing, Odessa hops to her feet, “Mom, the day we get actually drunk together is gonna be nuts.”
                                                              -
Tristan wakes up to the sound of scuttling on the walls. Seeing Imp climbing around, Tristan closes his eyes, getting drowsy again.
“Morning!” Odessa yells, jumping on top of him.
Tristan throws her off him, smirking as she falls, “Des, I’m sleeping…”
Landing with ease, she stands, arms akimbo, “But don’t you want to eat?”
He debates whether to leave the warm comfort of the bed or enjoy the warm comfort of mini pancakes.
Noooooo…
“Gea’s bringing the really good syrup,” Odessa teases, poking his shoulder with her hair.
He opens one eye.
Tristan doesn’t take much convincing afterward, pouring caramelized fruit syrup onto an assortment of small pancakes, his third helping. Hydrangea pours him and her a cup of green tea with lemon, setting his cup down in front of him. He says thanks with a full mouth, and she smiles at him.
Odessa, on her third plate too, licks her lips, “This is so good! You’re turning into a pro at making syrups.”
“Thank you,” Hydrangea blushes. “I’m glad you’re enjoying it.”
Taking a healthy sip of his tea, not minding the burn, Tristan lets out a satisfied sigh, “You keep this up, there’s no way I’ll be able to move.”
Entrapta looks up from her plate, peering closely at his face, “Have you been experiencing a slack in your metabolism? Are your joints functioning, or are you showing signs of muscle atrophy?”
Tristan smiles reassuringly, “No, no, I’m okay. The food’s just delicious.”
“It is!” Entrapta says, returning to her meal. She turns to Hordak, “Do you want to try any?”
“Hmm…” Hordak looks at the sweet cakes, drizzled with thick syrup. All of it golden in color. Pleasing to the eye, but he isn’t sure.
Entrapta grins at him, expectant.
“Very well,” Hordak says, taking her fork. He tries to not be aware of the eyes on him. Giving it a delicate sniff, he sticks it into his mouth, chewing meticulously. Thinking.
He looks at Hydrangea, giving a nod, “Excellent work.”
“T-Thank you!” she stammers, beyond shocked. She is going to remember this compliment for the rest of her life.
Entrapta, delighted he had a good experience, finishes up the rest of her food. Getting up, she announces, “Well, we’ll see you later! Hordak and I have a lot of work to do, so we won’t see you until tonight.”
“Alright, Mom,” Odessa says. “You two have a good day!”
Squealing at how adorable she is, Entrapta kisses her face multiple times as she says goodbye. Hordak pats her head before joining his lab partner.
“So,” Tristan begins, dabbing his mouth. “What are we up to today?”
Odessa turns to him, “I was thinking we might begin preparing for our next trip.”
Hydrangea sips her tea, “Our next trip will be when, do you think?”
“Preferably, sooner than later, and I am going to begin preparations in the coming days,” Odessa explains. “The next trip is going to be significantly longer, even with using portals.”
“How long do you expect?” Tristan asks.
“It might be more than a year,” Odessa answers.
“Oh!” Hydrangea says, setting down her cup. “More than a year… Where are we going?”
“I’d been thinking about it since we left the flagship,” Odessa says. “I think it would be provident to visit my uncles on Inicos. If no one on Etheria knows, maybe I have relatives that can give me better answers there.”
Tristan and Hydrangea glance at each other, both wondering what it would take to prepare it all.
“I understand it’s a lot,” Odessa tells them, aware that they’re unsure. “There’s no rush, since it will take a little time to prepare. I will inform you before we launch. Take your time to figure it out!”
Hydrangea smiles at her, “Alright, that’s good. It might take my parents a little convincing.”
“And you, Tris?”
“I’m sure I can figure something out with my folks,” Tristan replies.
“Excellent. I have a little bit to do around here for a couple hours, but I’ll meet up with you both later today.”
“That’s fine, I got stuff to do too,” Tristan stands, stretching out his arms.
Hydrangea claps her hands together, “I’ll see you guys later!”
                                                               -
Tristan doesn’t go home.
He swims through the ocean for several hours, thinking. Enveloped in the comfort of water, Tristan swims further down into the water, the light dissipating as he descends. Tristan looks to his side, shadows moving in the liquid black. He reaches out, skimming the surface of smooth skin. The aquatic behemoth lets out a sound of greeting, its voice thrumming through the water.
Swimming deeper, the pressure intensifying, darkness consuming his sight. He senses the scales of another animal, and it swims beside him for a while, enjoying his company. He loves to come down here. Communicate with all the oddities beneath the ocean, gliding along its floors, descending into greater trenches.
Despite what people think, the bottom of the ocean isn’t silent. There’s a cacophony of sound here, all varied in tone, pitch, and layered.
His mother never went beyond where dolphins ranged. Her demeanor, his father had told him, has remained exactly the same since they were young adults. But she has a penchant for cuter creatures, spending her time with more mammalian ocean-life.
His interest in creatures from dark depths was something she had no qualm telling him wasn’t to her taste. The first time he told her he would like to go out and swim into less shallow ends, she looked at him like he was bluffing. Like what he was telling her was a mere joke. At his insistence, she gave in, with much reluctance.
They swam toward the black, but never entered past where the dim sunlight ended. She told him it was an uninteresting place down there, and was rather disgusting. Made it obvious that she thought his choice was inferior to her own.
Tristan didn’t ask her to accompany him after that. He would only tell her he was going out, until it got to the day he knew it didn’t matter if he informed her of his whereabouts or not. She occupied her time and he was expected to do the same.
Being in this unfathomable space, he found a sense of peace. There was so much life here, unseen and unwanted by all above the surface.
He isn’t sure if anyone in his family had this desire for the darkness of the ocean, but he knows that he takes after his grandfather. Where once, Tristan shared the similar dolphin tail to swim, the more time he spent on his own, exploring, sensing, he found his own identity. His fin elongated, skin becoming sharp. No longer as agile or fast, but powerful all the same.
He pushes onward, tail propelling him downward still. Lost in thought and the feeling of not knowing where to go, but believing that if he keeps moving, he’ll eventually reach somewhere.
                                                               -
“I don’t like it,” Perfuma objects, arms crossed.
Hydrangea bites back a sigh, “Mom, it won’t be forever.”
“I think she’ll be able to handle herself,” Scorpia says.
“But for more than a year—”
Hydrangea sets down her teacup, “Mom, I know you’re worried about what will happen, but I would be among friends. And we would use a portal to help speed up the trip.”
Perfuma frowns, looking down at the table.
Scorpia turns to her daughter, “Hydrangea, hon, where is it you’re going again?”
“Inicos,” she explains again. “That planet where a majority of her uncles went to.”
Scorpia turns to her wife, “See, that’s good! That’s a planet where she’ll be more than okay.”
Perfuma rubs her temples. The idea of Hydrangea being gone for that long isn’t one that is sitting well with her. She would prefer if she remained in place. A child needs roots; what good would it do her to be away from home for that long? And there’s the fact it’s Odessa. There is no chance that this will be a one time thing. Hydrangea has been her friend for years; Odessa is too much like her mother—fixated on her goals.
“Mom, I don’t see any reason why you should be against this,” Hydrangea tells her.
Perfuma rises from her seat, “I’m going to bed. I will think about this.”
Hydrangea watches her mother go, knowing better than to continue her argument.
Scorpia sighs, “I’ll see if I can talk to her about it later.”
“Okay. There’s time left, but I would prefer to know sooner than later. You know how Odessa can be,” she replies, smiling.
Scorpia nods, sipping from her mug. There’s no reason for Perfuma to reject the notion, and with little base to go on. She knows Perfuma means well. She always does.
Once she encourages Hydrangea to retire for the evening as well, Scorpia leans against her bedroom door; she stares at Perfuma, brushing long yellow hair. Approaching her, Scorpia leans down to kiss the top of her head.
“I’m not wrong to be worried,” Perfuma says.
“I know.”
“I just…” Perfuma trails off, gently setting down her brush. “Hydrangea is growing up so fast, and I would prefer that she spend her time here, with her family.”
“I know it can be difficult. But when I was her age, I was getting ready to go out into the world.”
“Not for good reasons,” Perfuma says.
“The reasons aren’t really the point,” Scorpia says, holding up flaxen locks in a claw. She tried brushing Perfuma’s hair, once; she clipped right through it, and, horrified, she refrained from touching her for a good while. With practice, she can do it now, but only because she forced herself to try again. Even now, though, she feels… out of place. Bizarre and incongruous. She doesn’t want Hydrangea to lose her connections. To feel alone, and not know who she is. “The point is to let her discover what she wants out of her life.”
Perfuma reaches behind her, trailing her fingers along Scorpia’s jaw, “I know…”
“Give it some thought, at the very least,” Scorpia tells her.
Glancing down, Perfuma meets her wife’s eyes in the mirror, “I will see how I feel.”
                                                                -
The brain floats in its case. Undisturbed.
Odessa furrows her brows, wondering what she should do. Should she inform her father of her true intentions, or should she wait until she finds something of value to offer him? To show that it’s worth the effort?
She has deliberated over it for a while. She doesn’t want to exclude her father from the potential discoveries that await within the stars. But Prime…
He’s beyond a sore subject for Hordak. Her father is confident, proud, and immovable. But when Prime is delved into, either on a shallow or intimate level, he becomes sullen and distant. Similar to how he used to be, according to her mother. It normally takes Entrapta to bring him out of whatever reverie decides to perturb his thoughts.
Is it really a good idea to bring it up?
Odessa is not the sort to believe her father is weak. To the contrary, she has the highest respect and adoration for Hordak. And that’s partly why she hesitates to confide in him her plans.
He will eventually find out, though. He might not be good at picking up lies, but he is suspicious by nature.
Folding her arms, Odessa sits back in her chair, allowing the front legs to hover in the air. If she kept it a secret, he wouldn’t like it, but he may understand her reasoning if she explained why.
Ethical dilemmas are the worst.
“Odessaaaaa!”
“Hey, Mom,” she says, looking up at the ceiling.
“So, I was wondering what to prepare for your journey, and your father suggested that we give you a mini portal,” Entrapta says, hanging upside down. “The portal to Inicos will save you some time getting there, but if you want to send us something of value ahead of your arrivals, a mini portal might help!”
“Oh, that’s a good point!” Odessa says, feeling uncomfortable. “I’ll thank Dad for the idea later…”
Entrapta brushes Odessa’s cheek with a lock of her hair, “What’s wrong? Do you feel bad?”
“A little,” Odessa admits. “I don’t like not telling Dad anything, and, perhaps, I’m being unfair to you too—for having you keep it under wraps right now.”
Entrapta sits on her hair, “It’s not too late to be honest with him. Your father can handle more than we give credit for.”
“I know he can, but he has reservations about anything involving Prime,” Odessa says, shifting the chair back and forth. “He didn’t object to going to the flagship, but everything that comes after might not be to his liking.”
Entrapta places her hands on her cheeks, leaning forward, “Maybe we can try again to hint at it?”
“Dad’s too smart,” she says, setting the chair legs back on the ground and mimicking Entrapta’s position.
Entrapta and Odessa sit in silence for a few moments, each wondering about the best course of action.
“I still feel we should tell him,” Entrapta says.
“I do too, but I don’t want to risk Dad getting upset.”
“Then… I won’t say anything until you do.”
“Thanks,” Odessa replies, staring at the brain in the jar.
She doesn’t know why she hesitates so much when it comes to this. But she has inkling he might not approve. That isn’t a potential circumstance she wants tainting this trip—that he might not give his full support if he knew that this whole thing was to find out their origins.
                                                                -
Tristan lays in his room, staring up at the ceiling. Music plays in his ears, low and smooth in its lull. He can hear the faint sound of seagulls beyond his window, which gives him a growing sense of calm.
A knock on the door disturbs that calm. Annoyed, he says, “Yes?”
Mermista enters the bedroom, walking in. She inspects the room for a moment before addressing her son, “Are you busy?”
“No,” he answers, continuing to look at the ceiling.
“Good,” she tells him, folding her arms. “Because you’re needed downstairs to discuss matters in Salineas.”
Tristan groans, “I don’t know why I need to be down there.”
Mermista raises a brow, “You’re the prince, that’s why.”
He waves a hand in the air, “Still don’t see why I should.”
“Because I say so, how’s that for a reason?” Mermista declares, turning on her heel. “Hurry up, we can’t keep members waiting.”
He doesn’t move, wanting to drown out everything.
“Tristan, I said now!” she snaps from outside the door.
At the command, he throws his arms in exasperation, getting to his feet in a huff, “Fine!”
Walking quickly through marbled walls, Mermista shakes her head at him, “It wouldn’t kill you to be more involved with your kingdom.”
Tristan rolls his eyes.
“Don’t give me an attitude,” Mermista chastises. Another shake of her head, and she pauses mid-step to reach for his hair. “You don’t look the least bit presentable!”
“You told me to get going right now, you can’t get upset about that!”
“You should’ve been getting ready a while ago,” Mermista says, continuing to—very poorly—comb through his locks.
He steps backward, waving an arm, “I’m not a child, stop touching my hair!”
“If you didn’t look like crap, I wouldn’t need to,” Mermista says.
Tristan flushes in embarrassment and anger, “I never look like crap.”
“Right now you do,” Mermista insists. “Straighten your back.”
“It’d be a lot easier to do that if you got off my back,” Tristan snaps.
Mermista turns to narrow her eyes at him. She lets out a groan, “You know what, go back to your room. If you’re going to be immature, I’d prefer you not be there.”
With that, she continues walking without him.
Tristan stands there, miffed. Another waste of time! What does she even want? Whirling, he stomps back to his room.
This whole place is fucking stupid.
                                                               -
Hydrangea approaches Perfuma in the garden. Her mother seems to be in a good mood, “Hey, Mom.”
Perfuma turns, smiling, “Hello, dear! Would you hand me that water container please?”
Doing so, Hydrangea decides to mosey through the pathway. She lifts her hand over a row of violets, brushing their petals lightly with her fingertips. They respond to her touch, swaying gently beneath her palm.
“Is there something that you wanted, sweetheart?”
Hydrangea doesn’t look at her, listening to the flowers hum quietly, “I was wondering if we could discuss the trip.”
“Oh? I thought we dropped the matter,” Perfuma replies, tone nonchalant.
“No, Mom, you did,” Hydrangea says, voice equally collected.
Perfuma walks over to another section, pouring water into the soil, “There’s no reason to give an attitude, my young blossom.”
“Mom, no one is giving an attitude to you,” Hydrangea says, turning to her. “You’re the one who’s been avoidant about the issue since I mentioned it. Don’t you think you should hear me out?”
Perfuma sighs. Setting down the water pitcher, she places a hand on her cheek, “Alright… what is it?”
“All I’m asking is to go on an expedition for a while. I don’t think it’s that large of a request.”
“I believe you’re forgetting that you are a princess; you can’t go wandering the galaxy whenever you please—you have responsibilities here to your people!”
“I don’t understand your resistance. You’re always telling me that the best way to understand others is by putting yourself in their position.”
“You don’t have to travel around to do that,” Perfuma scoffs. “You can learn everything possible right here on Etheria.”
“Mom.”
“You aren’t ready to go out and be away from home for so long.”
“Traveling the galaxy is infinitely more safe than fighting a war, yet you did the latter around my age.”
Perfuma sighs, irritated, “You are being too argumentative.”
“I’m not being argumentative,” Hydrangea says, keeping her voice even, despite her own growing sense of frustration. “I’m trying to explain to you why this isn’t as bad as you make it out to be. This could be a really good experience for me!”
Perfuma shakes her head, “You are asking for too much at your age. You should be concentrating on your duties here on Plumeria, as well as your studies.”
“I haven’t slacked at all when it comes to my princess responsibilities. My studies are just fine, not to mention that if I travel around, I can learn about plants from other planets.”
Perfuma clasps her fingers together, taking a deep breath. Count to ten…
Hydrangea waits, knowing not to interrupt.
“I’m going to be frank with you, Hydrangea. I don’t like the idea of you traveling without proper support.”
“I’m not without support—Tristan should be coming too, and Odessa is capable. We’re going to be communicating with her parents, so there’s nothing to worry about.”
“They’re not going with you?!”
Crap… “No?”
“That’s even more reason to not let you!”
Her patience wears a little thin, though Hydrangea keeps her temper levelled, “Mom, this isn’t a scary trip that is going to harm me. We’re going to a planet that has lots of Odessa’s relatives, we have a portal to go back to in case we want to arrive sooner, and we’re always well-stocked on supplies.”
Perfuma inhales through her nose, exhales through her mouth. She can’t help but be nervous about the idea of her baby girl going through the universe with absolutely no parental guidance whatsoever. She might not be a young child, but she has a lot to learn. Scorpia thinks she is being too restrictive, even though she doesn’t believe so. She didn’t have her parents during formative years, and she would’ve wanted to have direction when she was around Hydrangea’s age.
But she knows that Hydrangea is determined to help Odessa in any way possible.
Perfuma walks over to her daughter, patting her shoulder. She stares directly at her face, solemn. Hydrangea stares at her, expectant. Sighing, Perfuma gives a small smile, “Very well. I feel this is against my better judgment, but you are free to go.”
Hydrangea breaks into a beaming grin, “Really?! Thanks, Mom!”
“I want you to let me know what’s going on every day, okay?”
“Mom, I can’t do that, I’ll be busy. Once a month?”
“Weekly.”
“Biweekly.”
“I guess that will do...” Perfuma gives in. She can’t help but hug her close when Hydrangea embraces her tightly in her arms.
Hydrangea couldn’t believe her luck—she was actually given permission to go! This is going to be awesome!
                                                                -
“You want to do what now?” Mermista asks.
“I want to go with Odessa and Hydrangea on a space trip.”
“No.”
“Why?” Tristan asks.
“I say so.”
Leaning his cheek against his palm, Tristan scowls, glaring at the fruit spread along the table.
Mermista doesn’t look up from her food, “If you continue to frown like that, you’re going to get wrinkles faster.”
Tristan bites back a retort, knowing there’s no point arguing.
“I don’t understand why you even want to go space travel. There’s nothing out there that’s important to us Salineans.”
Tristan rises from his chair, “Fine. I get it.”
Mermista watches him go. He’s been more insistent on being away from home the last several years; he didn’t spend much time here for about a decade or so, choosing to go frolic with his friends nearly every day, and it was more so when Odessa would return from her trips. Mermista is not quite sure if this is something that all teenagers go through, or just her son in particular.
She spent much of her time in Salineas, occasionally visiting her friends from other parts of Etheria. But Tristan is the opposite of that.
Sighing, she doesn’t bother to call him back, listening to the faint echo of his footfalls past the doors. If he wants to be a brat someplace else, that’s his issue.
Tristan strides through the hallway in a huff, discontent written across his face. Never breaking his pace, Tristan heads outside, where the once calm surface churned and frothed as a raging sea. Diving straight into the waves, his tail morphs the moment his skin makes contact with cold water. The weather was unexpected, but that’s fine—he loved storms.
Racing through the darkening ocean, Tristan swims northwest. He doesn’t think of anything—simply revels in the sensation of darting through water. Eventually, the seas revert to a quiet demeanor. Approaching nearby docks, Tristan catches the sounds of roughhousing and glass breaking. Changing from tail to legs, Tristan moves his arms in a simple motion, wrapping water around the lower half of his body, he lifts himself onto the pier.
Walking toward the tavern, Tristan enters the establishment. Without another thought, he slides to the right, avoiding a body that got flung in his direction. Not looking down at the unfortunate patron, Tristan heads to the center of the room, glancing around.
“Alright, men! What do you say we go set a couple boats on fire!”
Tristan turns in the direction of the voice, accompanied shortly after by exasperated groans and complaints.
“Well, don’t everybody jump up at once,” Seahawk complains.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll come around when they’re not hungover,” Tristan says.
Seahawk looks up, grinning from ear to ear, “Tristan, my boy!”
“Hey, Dad,” he replies.
“Pull up a seat, son! Barkeep, a drink for the young man!”
Tristan watches one of his father’s friends fall onto the floor, passed out. Taking the chair for himself, he says, “You seem to be in a good mood.”
Seahawk twirls his moustache, “Ho ho ho, my boy, you’ll be pleased to know that I have an expedition coming up! A crew and I are supposed to go south and find a coveted treasure that hasn’t been seen for hundreds of years!”
“Oh yeah? What’s it called?”
Seahawk hums to himself, then waves his hand, “I can’t remember right now. But it’s bound to be a glorious trek across the grand blue that is the sea!”
The bartender places a drink in front of Tristan, who nods his thanks before taking a generous gulp. Tristan sets the mug down, “That’s great! It’s been awhile since you’ve done anything like that.”
“Indeed, my boy. And what about you? Have you been answering the wild call?”
Tristan traces the side of his mug, “Odessa does have an expedition coming up that would be fun.”
“Ah, sweet Odessa! That girl is always ready to explore. Hydrangea is going too, I presume?”
“Yeah, I don’t doubt that.”
“From the sound of it, you’re unsure about your place in this. Why don’t you go too?”
Tristan rolls his eyes, “You know how Mom can get.”
“My dear Mermista does tend to be unyielding,” Seahawk says, then shrugs. “Your mother doesn’t have to get upset about what she doesn’t know.”
Tristan smirks, “Dad, are you giving me permission to go?”
“No, but I’m not denying you the call to adventure, either!”
Shaking his head, Tristan takes another swig of beer. He slams it down on the table, much to his father’s delight. Seahawk shouts, “Barkeep, more of your finest alcohol, please!”
Tristan smiles to himself, relaxing in the midst of chaos. He might even sing a shanty with his dad for the shits and giggles of it.
                                                               -
Hordak has noticed a change in Odessa’s demeanor, however slight.
He didn’t think much of it, at first. She has been preoccupied with her upcoming mission, but she’s been working near non-stop since she returned from Prime’s flagship. Not wanting to pry into her affairs, Hordak believed it would be best to let her do as she pleases.
And it’s not that she’s pulling away from him. On the contrary, she’s always been an affectionate child with him and Entrapta. She’s, in essence, a good kid. But that’s the thing about good kids—they’re not total experts at covering up what they don’t want you to see.
Hordak comes up to Odessa, tinkering away with one of her personal tech projects. He leans slightly forward, “If you turn that bolt to the left, you should be able to get the polarity to work.”
Odessa, mutely, does so. At the sound of it working, she smiles at him, “Thanks, Dad!”
Smiling in turn, he pulls up a chair and sits beside her. He reaches for a wrench, and tightens a loose bolt, “You’ve been deep in thought as of late, Odessa. Are you excited for the expedition?”
“Yes! It’s going to be exciting,” she replies. She takes the wrench from her father with a lock of hair. “I haven’t heard from Tristan yet on whether he can come, but Hydrangea informed me her mothers are allowing her to go.”
Hordak gives a quiet nod. They enter the state of routine: Odessa works, and he watches. She asks for tools and he hands them to her. Their roles reversed from when she was a child. In addition, he gives her suggestions about what to do next and she’ll do it, or make notes for future projects. Hordak glances at Odessa. Not wanting to disturb the silence, but she breaks it first.
“What is it?” Odessa asks.
“Traveling to Inicos will take a fair amount of time,” Hordak begins. “Even with a portal taking you a part of the way, you will be absent for a while.”
Odessa giggles, looking up at him, “Aw, are you going to miss me, Dad?”
“Of course,” Hordak says, sincere. He turns to her, eyeing her movements. “You are my daughter. I want you to be safe on this mission. You’ve been gone before, but this is different…”
“It’s not too different,” Odessa replies, eyes centralized on her work. “I’ve been on trips before.”
Hordak inhales deeply, then exhales. “I know.” But there’s an aspect to this venture that is niggling the back of his mind. “You have a… passion for this journey that is dissimilar to the ones prior.”
Odessa’s hair moves around the table, skimming over the tools, “I guess I do.”
“Odessa.”
She looks up, meeting her father’s eyes.
“You would tell me about your goals, wouldn’t you?”
Odessa’s eyes flit over Hordak’s face, his expression earnest, open. “Yeah, Dad. I would.”
At his smile, Odessa stands up, “I’m going to get a snack. Do you want anything?”
“No, thank you. I’ll wait for you to return.”
“Okay,” Odessa tells him, walking out of the room.
Hordak’s smile fades, unable to shake that niggling sensation.
                                                              -
“Launch day!” Entrapta yells. “Are you excited, my little cupcake?”
“I’m born to be excited!” Odessa shouts.
The two look at each other, shaking their hands and screaming in anticipation. Emily spins in a circle, letting out a long beep, as Imp yells in his natural voice.
Hordak stands with his arms folded, chuckling.
Entrapta kicks her legs in the air, cackling at the top of her lungs, “This is an absolute thrill, and I’m not even going! Ooooh, my baby is going away for a while! Ah, I’ll miss seeing that cute widdle face every day!” For added emphasis, she squishes Odessa’s cheeks together, kissing her nose.
Odessa doesn’t pull away, a light blush on her cheeks, “I know, Mom. I’m gonna miss you too.”
Withdrawing, Entrapta goes into scientist-mode, “Now, remember: your uncles will be there to greet you and answer any questions you may have. By the time you arrive in Inicos, they should have a portal functioning again, so they can send you back to Etheria directly. Make sure to contact them when you are nearby.”
Odessa nods, shaking in place. Her heart always beats faster when she’s about to head out into space. She hasn’t been to Inicos in a long time, that it’ll practically be new. She has so much to look forward to! She hopes this won’t be a dead end before her true exploration begins.
She looks to her left, waving, “Gea! You’re here!”
Hydrangea walks up, Scorpia at her side, “Hey!”
Entrapta scuttles over to Scorpia, the two going for a large hug. Scorpia picks up Hordak, and he shakes his head in resignation, despite the smirk on his face.
“Must you?” he asks.
“Every time, Lord Hordak!” Scorpia teases.
“Scorpia,” he threatens.
“Whoa, haven’t heard that tone for years!” Scorpia says, setting him down. “Brings back memories.”
“I know,” Entrapta says in a softer tone, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
Hordak blushes, clearing his throat.
Hydrangea glances around the hanger, “Where’s Tristan?”
Odessa shrugs, “I’m not sure. I haven’t heard from him in a while.”
“He’ll be here soon, I think,” Hydrangea replies.
Odessa isn’t sure. She’s been holding out on his reply for weeks. Well, it’s not that she isn’t sure about his intentions; it’s his parents she isn’t certain of, and even then it’s just the one.
Hydrangea touches her shoulder, “I’m going to get my things inside the ship. Relay the plan to me when I get back.”
“Alright,” Odessa says. Arms folded, she taps her fingers quickly against her skin.
The hours pass and Odessa sets the final cargo in Celeste’s compartments. Sighing, growing frustrated and upset, she continues moving about the ship.
Hydrangea stares out at the front, equally worried.
Entrapta walks up to Odessa, “Has he arrived yet?”
“No.”
“I have everything set up for you in the cockpit,” Entrapta says, sitting on her hair.
“Thanks, Mom.”
Entrapta pats her back, “You still have an hour before you head out.”
“I know.”
Hydrangea suddenly yells, “Tristan! There you are!”
Odessa looks up, screaming at him, “You son of a bitch, where’ve you been?!”
Tristan runs up to them, an apologetic grin on his face, “Packing!”
Hydrangea holds a hand to her chest, “Thank goodness, we were beginning to worry.”
“If you missed out on this trip, I was going to be pissed at you forever,” Odessa tells him.
Tristan laughs, placing his luggage in the ship, “Well, you can love me more now.”
Odessa rolls her eyes, despite the smirk on her face.
Soon enough, they’re heading inside the spaceship. Entrapta is squealing in joy, kissing Odessa’s face. Scorpia hugs Hydrangea tightly, and pulls Tristan in for good measure.
“Have fun! Keep me updated on all the cool stuff you find!” Entrapta says.
“You got it, Mom!” Odessa replies, giving a salute.
Hordak comes up to her, patting the top of her hair, “Take care, Odessa.”
She pushes the top of her head into his palm, “I will. You know me, I can handle anything.”
He smiles down at her, “I know you can. But…”
“But?” she repeats, eyes bright and alert.
“Nothing,” he replies. He draws his arms behind his back, “I wish you safe travels.”
Odessa beams at her parents, kissing both of them on the cheek. She runs into Celeste, and waves at her family as the ramp closes, “I’ll see you all soon!”
Hydrangea and Tristan are already in the cockpit, awaiting her instructions.
“You guys ready?”
“Ready!” they crow together.
“Let’s go!”
Celeste rises into the air, and once it breaks the atmosphere, it gives a jolt of energy and light.
Scorpia wipes her eyes, “Ah, I forget they’re not little anymore.”
Entrapta pats her shoulder, “We made food, do you want to join us?”
“That’d be nice,” Scorpia says.
Entrapta turns to Hordak, “You coming?”
“In a moment,” Hordak replies, staring up at the sky.
Smiling, she pushes up from the ground on her pigtails, placing a soft kiss on his lips, “She’ll be okay.”
Hordak’s gaze scans the stars. Wondering if he should’ve been more forthright with his thoughts. He supposes he can talk to her at a later point…
Observing the sky, he waits until it darkens before heading inside.

Day 3 - Dearest Wish
The camera blinked on, only the synthetic muscle of an exo’s hand was visible as they adjusted the camera. The hand moved out of the way, linking up with its other half on the table. The exo’s optics looked everywhere but at the camera as he sighed.
“My name is Cobalt and this is the first… log?” He winced as he said it. “That sounds stupid.” with a groan he let his head fall into his hands and stayed like that for thirty seconds of the video.
He finally sat up again.
“It’s been one day since you left.” Cobalt looked away, a grimace pulling on his face plates. “I already miss you even if I could be there… even though if I jumped into a ship right now I could probably catch up.”
Leaning his head to the side, supported by his hand, the exo looked around the room. Muffled and outside of view the telltale sound of a ghost’s voice could be heard but the words were hard to make out through the video.
“Yea, thanks Bandit.” Cobalt replied, glancing back to the camera he sat up.
“I still want to stay and help in the city, be a guardian, have a purpose but-” As he trailed off he closed his optics again, holding his face as if he was pinching the bridge of his nose, something that did nothing for the exo but was an odd habit anyway. “Sometimes I wish I could cry, to get all of this sadness out quick and easy.”
Instead he had to sit there and deal with it.
“You’re never going to see this, but I miss you.” Cobalt said, a small smile on his face, the first in the video. “And for what it’s still worth after what I said before you left… I love you.”
The exo reached out to the camera and the video ended.
The Drifter stared at the last frame for minutes after, blinking away a few tears. When Evelon had given him some of Cobalt’s belongings and files recovered from his dead ghost, he hadn’t expected to find a couple hundred videos behind a password that was embarrassingly easy to guess.
A couple hundred videos all dedicated to him.
He took a deep breath and continued watching.
The camera was clumsily adjusted again, synthetic tongue slightly poking out as Cobalt concentrated on getting it right. Drifter smiled at the sigh, it looked cute. Satisfied after a few seconds of fiddling the exo sat back.
“I’ve been out of the city for a while.” Cobalt said, taking a sip out of one of Drifters old mugs with the text ‘I boo what I want.’ with a ghost flipping people off. “Met another guardian, a titan named Alejandra.”
He kept the steaming mug in his hands and stared inside of it for a few seconds. From the angle the video was shot at it was hard to make out what he was drinking, but Drifter could bet it was more sugar than anything else.
“We talked about the people we lost.” He took a shuddering breath. “I guess you technically count as a lost one now.”
Cobalt’s hands visibly clenched around the mug as he frowned. “Doubt you’ll be back before I get myself killed fighting hive or whatever, or that you’ll ever get back at all with how likely you are to get yourself killed out there.”
Drifter winched at the reality of his dead partner's statement. He had almost died, and when he had come back it was indeed Cobalt who had died at the hands of one of the ‘enemies of the city’.
In the video the exo took another long swig of his drink. “Nevertheless, I still wish for you to come back to me.”
Cobalt stared at the camera for a solid 20 seconds before sighing and moving to turn it off.
Several videos later Drifter had moved from leaning on the railing to just sitting on the ground as he watched Cobalt moving things around his desk, tidying up. The exo had gotten more comfortable recording with every video he watched.
He finally looked up and smiled. “The hunter from our fireteam, Dione, he’s a good kid.” Cobalt said as he absentmindedly fiddled with a pen. “We worked with another fireteam, Voidlight, on a raid into fallen territory recently and he hit it off with their warlock, Avil.”
Drifter knew those people, Evelon was still friends with them and had dragged them into Gambit once or twice.
“With how spotty Dione’s memory can be, he managed to remember Avil pretty well so that’s a good sign.” Cobalt said, his smile widening. “It’s cute to see the budding romance, they have the freedom and safety here in the city to actually… date and woo each other without worrying about their final deaths every other day.”
Cobalt looked somewhat lost in thought as he was talking and accidentally shot the pen across his desk. He cursed and moved partially out of frame as he dove after it. Putting it back in its place when he had located it again.
“Cobalt, Siph and the others are here for that game night, you coming?” A person moved into frame, their face not visible just his waist as he stood next to him. “You recording again?”
Cobalt smiled at his teammate. “Yea, be right there Orion.” The other exo patted his shoulder in reply and walked away again.
“This is a short one then.” Cobalt grinned in the camera and turned it off.
It had been a few hours since he started up the first video, the Drifter had stayed up all night and it must’ve been nearing morning again when he heard guardians moving around the annex again. He had moved to a different spot, not wanting a stray guardian looking for gambit bounties finding him tearing up.
He was nearing the end of the videos.
“Bandit you’re recording?” Cobalt asked, the ghost turned around and then he was in frame, smiling.
“Uhm, I’m ready I guess.” Came a familiar voice from out of frame.
“I present to you, our newest fireteam member.” Cobalt pulled the awoken hunter into view and hugged her close to his side. “Evelon Naleen, kinderguardian and hunter extraordinaire.”
Evelon gave the camera, Bandit, a small wave, as her face and body language gave away how uncomfortable she was. Drifter had never seen her with hair that long but that was definitely the godslayer he had come to call his partner in crime. Although she definitely didn’t look like much of a godslayer right now.
Orion moved into the frame as well, patting the taller guardians head. Both of the exo’s being dwarfed by the beanpole of a hunter.
“We are very happy to have her on the team and look forward to our many adventures.”
Evelon gave a more genuine smile at Cobalt’s words.
“Bandit, end recording.”
The videos leading up to the last one were the happiest Drifter had seen Cobalt in the hundreds he had watched by now. He was glad his love had found friends he could trust, that would have his back.
As he opened the last video Drifter held his breath, he wasn’t sure what this was going to end up being.
Cobalt came into view, the scenery behind him showed forest and ruins of a church and other buildings. He was likely to be somewhere around the EDZ, which is where Evelon said they had found his dead ghost. This was not long before he died but Cobalt in the video didn’t know what was going to happen and smiled.
“I’m feeling good about today, Eli.” Cobalt had always liked that name best, probably because he had picked it. Drifter smiled ruefully at the irony as he watched his lovers last moments, hours or perhaps days.
“Nev and me have been tracking her old house in hopes of establishing some contact.” Off screen said fallen chittered in Eliksni, Cobalt turned his head and answered back in the same language, the wonders of an exo voicebox,  Nev let out what must be a laugh at the reply.
Cobalt smiled as he turned back to the camera. “Nevrik’s kell is first and foremost a technocrat, so we hope to build a good relationship by giving them some new tech from the city they could use.”
The Drifter could feel his stomach sink, he knew how this was going to end.
“This could be the first step towards peace with the Eliksni.” He smiled a bit sadly. “Although you might call me hopelessly optimistic.”
Cobalt stopped walking and leaned against a tree, the fallen he was traveling with nodded at him as she walked past the frame towards the distance, firewood under her arm.
“I guess Evelon rubbed off on me.” Drifter could definitely relate to that, the kid had a way of worming into your heart even though he met the hunter at a way darker time in her life.
After a few beats of silence Cobalt looked directly into the camera. “I miss you everyday still, it’s been years and you haven’t come back yet..” His voice box stuttered as he got choked up, closing his eyes for a few seconds to get his bearings. “But I saw a falling meteorite a few days ago, wished on it like the kids in the city told me to, so maybe I’ll see you around in a few days, or a few years.” Cobalt’s smile was sad.
“See you around, Eli.”
The video ended.
And all that would be left of Cobalt was a stray leg that Nevriks old kell had ripped off and apparently hadn’t needed for whatever fucked up project he was going to repurpose him for. His ghost crushed into a pile of scrap just outside the encampment.
Drifter pressed the palms of his hands into his eyes and willed himself not to cry.

part 3
so. it’s been a while. i had this pretty much written up months ago but i petered out near the end which is why it took so long to post it.
so this covers my thoughts&observations on ep37+38 regarding takeru+ken post-kaiser. i’ll be posting another post later summing up my overall thoughts.
part 1 | part 2
[ep37]
ken tends to have a lot of anger in his voice when talking to archnemon, which makes sense. it's personal. and just like yamato said; ken and takeru share similar feelings.
daisuke: we worked so hard :D (looking back and forth between friends) takeru: you're right C: daisuke: right? right?
ken and iori aren’t looking at daisuke until daisuke goes 'right right'. ken looks down and iori looks at daisuke. daisuke notices something's up with ken. 'what’s wrong ichijouji? what? if you have something to say, say it'. further example of how jogress partners tend to notice when something's bothering them.
ken reflects his thoughts that if the darkness isn’t completely destroyed immediately it will continue to absorb its surroundings and produce more 'sad lives' like bwg; hikari's thoughts are that ken is also referring to himself and how he created Kimeramon. this is something that daisuke and miyako are implied to be aware of as well; the way takeru and iori are looking at ken when he talks also suggests they're aware of it as well.
it's kind of fitting, then, that takeru speaks up. after all, he's the one who kind of inadvertently brought this to ken's mind back in ep 34.
takeru first says ‘i don't think so/I think differently’ in response to ken, directly to him, which has ken react in surprise and turn his head to face takeru.
takeru goes on to say that 'sure, darkness is terrible, and we'd feel peace of mind if we were able to get rid of it completely, but I'm sure that's impossible’. ken repeats "impossible?" takeru then looks slightly away, as though he's deep in thought/thinking of how to say what he’s thinking, and says how where there is light, there is darkness, which has hikari respond with 'the brighter the light, the darker the shadow, right?' which has takeru turn his head back to the group (and ken) as he responds 'yes', adding 'that's why it's important not to lose sight of the light inside you'. focus on ken as he repeats 'not losing sight of the light inside of you'.
now what does this mean? what is its importance? bc it's definitely significant. but how?
I think this is the first time since ep28, where takeru told ken to not act cool, that I think takeru has directly talked specifically to ken post-kaiser stuff.
up until now, Takeru's stance regarding Ken was externally vague at best, as he was the only one who hadn't made his position clear to Ken. Ken generally knows where Daisuke, Miyako, and Hikari side, and where Iori sides -- or at least where Iori sided, and he doesn’t really have any reason to think he’s changed his mind. He doesn’t really have any idea where takeru sides, as takeru hasn't made it clear to him.
Takeru's willing to work with him, sure. he's civil enough. but to be fair iori has also been working with ken and being civil for the most part too, esp post ep28. this doesn't necessarily reflect their personal feelings towards him.
what Ken knows is Takeru told him he was way over his head regarding the power of darkness in ep19 and physically assaulted him with a significant anger present, warned him that playing around with the power of darkness would have grave consequences if he didn't stop (and it did), told him they'd settle their 'match' (which was really just takeru beating up ken) next time, and lectured him on digimon being alive like the rest of them, before wormmon died. (and said ‘he’s dead’ after wormmon died).
what ken knows is, after wormmon died, takeru told him, somewhat upset, not to act cool in response to his offer to kill archnemon so the other kids wouldn't have to, and then suggesting a (temporary) nonlethal alternative. even more, ken knows that takeru has repeated the sentiment that using the power of darkness to create 'unhappy life' and destruction is 'unforgivable' with a similar intensity that was present in the ep19 encounter--which is something ken did. ken also knows that takeru declined to attend the meeting at daisuke's house in a suspicious manner, followed by iori.
it's not a stretch to imagine that ken figures that while takeru is willing to work with him and be civil, takeru finds what ken did to be unforgivable and personally does not like ken.
and I don't think that's Takeru's intention. the fact that takeru seemed to express possible/potential concern over ken's guilt motivating him, I don't think Takeru means for Ken to beat himself up when he says those things. and in this scene we have Ken feeling guilty, which is presumably understood by everyone, and disheartened. and takeru kind of reaching out, in a way.
there are several ways that what takeru said could be taken I feel.
for one, it's a hopeful (heh) thing. when ken expresses his thought that as long as there is darkness, the cycle will continue. takeru expresses that darkness winning is not an inevitability as long as you don't lose the light inside you.
it works on a personal level, too. it's okay if ken continues to struggle with the darkness -- it's unfortunate and not fun, but that doesn't make him a bad person -- as long as he holds onto the light inside of him, and there is light inside of him.
there's also something about the way qinglongmon said some stuff. earlier he claimed that "in order to bring the one swallowed by darkness back, it was necessary to temporarily create the digimental of miracles with the crest of kindness engulfed by darkness." he then later reiterates/rephrases Takeru's feelings when expressing what hope means -- "and hope means not to lose the light even when engulfed by darkness."
ken lost sight of the light inside of his heart for a while (his kindness, you could say), but he found it again after wormmon's sacrifice, as a result of a 'miracle' (tech found it in ep23). and it was a miracle that ken was saved before it was too late! the important thing for ken to do now is not to lose sight of it again.
and aside from the physical destruction the power of darkness can be used to create, takeru also knows about falling victim to the darkness from emotional vulnerability, for lack of better explanation. I can't recall exactly what he knew about Yamato's experience or what he picked up when witnessing Sora's, but Takeru more or less knows how people can fall prey to it. Yamato was engulfed by darkness, falling further and further into it; he was lost and ended up doing some misguided things as a result -- seriously fighting Taichi (in front of his little brother!) and when it really wasn't the time, for one. thanks to Gabumon, though, Yamato was able to find his way back. which is why I don't think Takeru would really hold it against Ken once Takeru had felt Ken had changed from before, and furthermore, Takeru knows that you can come back from it.
whatever Takeru's intent is, his meaning is -- naturally -- one of hope, and it's directed towards Ken.
and Takeru's words, particularly about not losing sight of the light inside you, seem to... impact? reach? ken, for lack of a better word, in some way, to an extent.
upon further thinking, it actually kind of reminds me of ep23 at the village of beginnings. when the baby digimon tell Ken “What is done cannot be undone. What you did was something unforgivable.” and “You can’t erase the past. Everything is part of you: the good and the bad are both part of you.”
while what ken did was unforgivable [kimeramon], he has to accept the good and the bad are both part of him. and ken tends to focus on accepting the bad as part of him, but he also has to accept the good part of him, too, in the sense that he acknowledges that there is good -- that he’s not solely a bad person. and maybe the good that’s a part of him is sort of analogous to the light inside him -- that despite being engulfed in darkness and all he’s done, there is light inside him, and the important thing is to not lose sight of it (again).
it also kind of reminds me of a line in ‘beat hit’, the jogress song. ‘There is light and shadow in both the heart and in the world. That’s testing you, the never ending battle.’ [Hikari to kage ga aru kokoro ni mo sekai ni mo / Sore wa kimi wo tameshite iru kesshite owaru koto no nai tatakai]
i don’t have too much to say here at this point about this other than encouraging others to throw their two cents in about what they think, bc this is definitely a significant moment. but in what way?
not really related to takeru+ken but later, when qinglongmon talks about the crests of hope and light, hikari turns to takeru and smiles saying 'our crests!' and tho Takeru's lookin back at her, I think, he's not smiling. which I find interesting. In ep34 it was shown that takeru can go from serious&intense to ^.^ pretty quickly and smoothly. I don't know what if anything it signifies but I found it interesting. idk
later, at the restaurant.
miyako and daisuke are fighting over the Chinese bun daisuke took; takeru holds out a bun to ken and says 'ichijouji-kun. they're delicious. will you eat with us?' and while ken was initially surprised by Takeru's action, he gives a small (cute!) smile which grows a little more as he says "thanks! :D" and accepts Takeru's offering. takeru is smiling at ken in the background as ken opens/splits the the bun and gives half to leafmon. leafmon says 'ken-chan, eating with friends is great, isn't it?' and ken replies 'it is'! and after this exchange takeru is still seen smiling at ken as he watches on.
so not only has ken accepted being nakama, he's accepted being friends, too! good for him! and takeru seems happy about that, too, which is swell.
also an interesting thing I noticed is that throughout this episode after qinglonmon appears, takeru, iori, and ken are often showed/grouped together in the same frame/shot.
takeru, iori, and ken are shown in frame when takeru goes 'is this what bwg was waiting for?' when qinglongmon appears. takeru, iori, and ken are once again shown in the same frame when ken goes "then, I..." after daisuke goes 'the dark towers seal his powers?'
then takeru and ken are in same frame, to the side, when archnemon and mummymon walk back in with the two other digimon subdued, archnemon saying 'oh well you found out' re: her/their goal ('building as many dark towers as possible and destroying this world's balance'). this shot is repeated after archnemon says 'but then you got the wrong idea, joined the chosen children, and started to destroy them'.
then takeru, iori, and ken are shown in the same frame again when takeru says 'so that's why they can only reach perfect level at certain times'. iori turns to look at takeru when he talks. iori says 'that's what koushirou-san explained to us a while back right?' and takeru and ken turn to look at him. iori turns back to qinglongmon 'he was talking about qinglongmon and the others' ken and then takeru turn back to face qinglongmon.
daisuke, hikari, and miyako are together in the same frame when daisuke and miyako say 'that must be us' & 'yeah. daisuke, me, and...'. the next shot is of iori with parts of ken and takeru shown in frame when iori goes 'myself'.
after bwg screams and goes off into the sky, there's a shot of daisuke+hikari+miyako, and then a shot of takeru+iori+ken. daisuke+hikari+miyako are again shown when daisuke says that 'now you can recover your lost power, right?', to which qinglongmon replies that not right away but he'll plant seeds of light in the meantime where the holy stones once were, and takeru+iori+ken are shown in the shot when ken echoes ‘seeds of light?'
then, daisuke+hikari+miyako and ken with most of his head cut off are in the same shot after ken talks about how unless all darkness is destroyed, it'll absorb its surroundings etc. then there's the focus on hikari thinking that ken was also referring to himself, and then there's a shot of takeru+iori+ken+daisuke, with the focus zooming on ken until takeru speaks up. even in the group shot when qinglongmon says ‘however, it does not mean that all threats have been eliminated', there’s a bit of a gap between Ken and Daisuke, dividing the kids into three and three (Takeru, Iori, Ken & Daisuke, Hikari, Miyako).
it’s interesting, especially considering the relevance these three have had during Takeru&Iori’s (pre)jogress arc.
[ep38]
ken is standing apart from the other kids. wormmon basically encourages him to give his invitations to the kids, but ken asks 'but will they accept?' and his hand is shaking. he's so nervous! even though his relationships with the other kids have improved. which is understandable. I suffer from social anxiety I get it.
it's reasonable to expect daisuke, miyako, and hikari to accept it, especially the former two. it's reasonable to expect iori /not/ to accept it (from kens pov). takeru has the most room for doubt, since he did make the offering of friendship more or less the prior episode, but is still a rather mysterious dude.
wormmon tells him it'll be fine. daisuke, in daisuke fashion, noticed something's up with ken and runs up to him. 'what are you doing? what do you have there? c'mon what is it?' ken, super nervous (aah!!), tells them that his mother said he should invite all of his friends to a Christmas party at their place. he lifts the invitations slowly, hand trembling. and the kids (minus iori) are excited and run over.
ken's hand with the invitations is still shaking and starts to retreat/withdraw, as if he's expecting a rejection, when he asks if they'd like to come. it makes me really feel for him honestly he's so nervous :( but when ken, uncertainly, asks if they would like to come, takeru immediately asserts "of course! [Mochiron yo]" and ken goes " :o ". takeru has his hand already out, directly in front of him, smiling, and ken lifts up the invitations and goes ' thanks !”', blushing, to which takeru says 'same to you. i'm happy you invited us.' and goes ^.^
the fact that takeru is the one to first accept ken’s invitation is intentional from the show. they emphasize ken's shaking hand with the invitation retreating. ken has doubts. and takeru clears up those doubts with his confident 'of course!' and 'I'm happy you invited us'.
and this is also takeru clearing up his own position, which has been relatively unclear until the last episode. takeru goes a step further from last episode by making it clear that of course he wants to come and he's happy they invited him.
and taking in Takeru's 'I'm happy you invited us' as well as his smiling at ken at the end of last episode, it seems that Takeru's happy that ken seems to be ... healing? in a way, for lack of a better word, which kind of ties into his apparent concern over kens motivations re: guilt earlier on. this kind of is also related to the end of the episode when sora looks at hikari and takeru and says that kens 'really changed, hasn't he?' bc it's not that he changed from kaiser to ken, it's that he's also changed in that he's happier. and everyone's glad about it too. also shown by the kids’ reaction when ken laughs at the party.
also takeru goes to ken’s party instead of supporting his brother at his concert. not that yamato probably minds or anything but i thought that was neat. i do like that koushirou and jou came to yamato’s concert too though that’s sweet heh

Thoughts on interclan relation/lore? You've got rad concepts! Be need to see how some of em blend.
Firstly thank you! And yesss interclan stuff is very spicy
My clan has a lot of relations to others especially since few members are actually from the plaguelands. For example, Taro, Rose, Janus, and Pepsi all moved from the Hewn City and still maintain connections there. While Taro’s syndicate has since collapsed, he still has many allies and business matters he attends to, especially with the Talonok. Pepsi’s work partner still gives her the news and she occasionally helps with his cases.
I’ve always imagined clans maintain their flight culture of course but it could heavily differ depending on area. Life in the plague deserts is far different from the Wyrmwound so you could potentially have conflict between dragons who have wild ideas about what survival means and how to do it right. Of course they can definitely bond over the fact that they’re both stuck in a meat desert and that’s pretty fucked up amirite broski. Then they high five
There’d be so much trading and connecting among clans too. Nature clans can ship seeds and saplings to other regions that rely on farming. Lightning provides much of the world with the latest tech. Dragons all over come to Wind to watch parades of kites and balloons. Many clans trade with nearby neighbors for supplies and may send out search parties in case communication ever stops. It is common for clans to scavenge each other when nothing remains but ruins and close knit clans will keep foreign mementos. Often clans will have ambassadors live in allied lairs to keep the peace and relay messages. Alternatively clans may have rivalries and raiding is commonplace. Weaker clans will usually be absorbed, resulting in a mix of cultures.
Dragon clans also interact with beastclans though friendliness will vary. Longneck clans are often the most amicable if only because they enjoy the cashflow from dragons who will pay inflated prices for their hard to find wares. Longnecks make sizable herds in many dragon cities where they adapt well into the local culture. Adversely there are beasts who hate dragons with a passion and will do anything to disrupt their society or at the least, be a pain in the ass. Serthis and Harpy clans are well known for their animosity and frequent raid clans and caravans.

the  year  is  2224.  evolving  technologies  can  no  longer  be  regulated  &  have  advanced  astronomically.  humanities  are  capable  of  extended  life  through  genetic  mutegens  &  mix  &  match  synthetic  tissues  &  cybernetics  in  efforts  to  maintain  their  positions  or  to  propel  themselves  forward.  major  conglomerates  manage  every  aspect  of  life  from  their  top  floors  of  their  towering  sky-scraping  fortresses  while  down  below  the  streets  are  run  by  drug  pushing  gangs,  tech  hustlers  and  illegal  body  enhancement  back - alley  clinics.  the  extreme  poverty,  classicism  and  continuous  technological  surveillance  has  pushed  the  supernatural  community  further  into  the  shadows  and  the  underground,  seriously  depleting  their  populations.  however  the  advancements  of  technology  has  also  forced  all  species  to  work  together  in  order  to  maintain  the  secrecy  of  their  existence  as  well  as  their  survival  as  mankind  stretches  across  the  stars.
as  the  last  remaining  original  vampire  kol  has  taken  a  more  prominent  position  of  power  among  the  supernatural  community  and  makes  kol  partly  responsible  for  the  vampiric  community  alongside  the  hybrid  marcel  who  operates  out  of  new  orleans.  both  kol  and  marcel  speak  for  the  vampiric  survival,  existence  and  inter - relations  with  the  other  species  but  are  also  responsible  for  their  attacks,  mistakes  and  overall  social  behaviors.  kol  has  a  large  network  of  vampires,  witches  and  humans  to  make  this  possible,  establishing  law  and  order  amongst  a  species  that  had  otherwise  done  as  they  pleased.
marcel  has  a  much  more  public  position  of  power  than  kol  as  marcel  is  more  charismatic  and  sympathetic.  kol  lacks  the  same  tolerance  for  people,  while  kol  can  easily  manipulate  and  charm  single  or  duo  targets,  marcel’s  skills  of  persuasion  extend  to  entire  groups  and  manipulation  of  a  mob  mentality.  no  one  is  more  surprised  than  kol  or  marcel  at  how  well  they  are  able  to  work  together  .  .  .  given  that  they  rarely  have  to  deal  with  each  other  face - to - face.
kol  has  become  the  very  thing  that  he  has  always  despised :  an  authority.     even  worse :  he’s  good  at  it.
for  the  majority  of  the  supernatural  realm  kol’s  past  as  being  a  homicidal  maniac  are  whispered  only  in  stories  and  tall - tales,  nowadays  there  are  few  still  alive  who  knew  him  before  his  family’s  deaths  and  his  reputation  now  is  that  of  a  stern  but  level - headed  and  visionary  leader  of  vampires.  while  kol  still  possesses  a  reputation  for  his  skill  as  a  fighter,  his  wealth  of  knowledge  on  magic  and  his  cunning,  he  is  also  known  for  being  capable  of  mercy  and  for  making  decisions  that  aid  in  the  continued  existence  of  all  supernatural  creatures  and  not  only  his  own.
kol  has  two  main  hubs  of  business,  the  first  being  one  of  the  sky - scraping  fortresses  in  upper  society  that  he  leaves  in  the  hands  of  one  of  his  previously  mentored  vampires,  nasir,  and  his  disciple,  vaenia  who  is  a  techno - specialized  witch.  the  pair  have  proven  capable  of  operating  the  high  society  politics  and  actually  being  able  to  stomach  the  high  rise  political  and  largely  plastic  societies  and  communities  that  would  otherwise  drive  kol  into  bloody  and  brutal  murder,  though  kol  does  still  oversee  major  decisions / choices  and  makes  appearances  for  important  conferences,  interviews,  business  meetings  etc.  the  second,  and  the  one  that  kol  is  most  active  within,  is  located  in  san  francisco  undercity  and  is  a  direct  link  to  the  underground  supernatural  movement  that  is  disguised  as  a  cybernetic  enhancement  facility  that  specializes  in  weaponized  synthetic  innovations.  kol  is  backed  by  a  handful  of  advisers,  vampires,  witches,  humans  though  his  most  localized  partners  are  a  witch,  reela,  two  vampires  fei  and  her  disciple  zada,  two  humans  sameen  and  aja  and  one  werewolf  jian.  this  inner  circle  of  advisers / specialists  help  maintain  the  relative  peace  between  supernaturals  and  mankind  but  kol  oversees  it  all.  every  final  decision / play  or  action  must  go  through  kol  first.  the  san  franscico  hub  has  an  upstairs  nightclub  that  also  acts  as  kol’s  main  office.
he  also  works  closely  with  the  the  other  supernatural  communities  for  community  wide  decision  making.  the  politics  of  his  new  lifestyle  can  be  somewhat  overwhelming  at  times  due  in  no  small  part  to  kol’s  nomadic  nature  and  he  can  become  increasingly  restless.  he  rarely  has  the  time  to  go  out  of  his  way  to  do  things  he  enjoys  himself  and  every  decision  or  action  he  takes  has  become  a  reflection  on  his  entire  species.  there  are  times  when  the  pressures  of  responsibility  can  have  kol  act  out  but  these  have  become  rare  and  far  between  since  coming  into  a  place  of  power.
kol’s  sireline  still  exists  ( as  my  kol  has  never  died ),  and  now  makes  up  the  majority  of  the  vampire  population  giving  them  incentive  to  keep  kol  alive  as  they’re  still  bound  to  his  life.  there  is  no  surviving  white  oak  and  the  white  ash  daggers  have  long  since  been  destroyed.  kol  has  also  added  to  his  tattoos  --  there  are  several  magical  runes  that  provide  kol  a  much  stronger  resistance  to  magic,  curses / hexes  no  longer  have  as  much  effect  on  him.
in  regards  to  cybernetic / synthetic  enhancements  and  supernatural  communities :  vampires,  hybrids,  un - triggered  werewolves  and  witches  are  capable  of  receiving  these  kinds  of  alterations  to  their  bodies  and  have  them  stick.  triggered  werewolves  however  run  the  extreme  risk  of  their  cybernetics / synthetic  upgrades  killing  them  when  they  transform  during  the  full  moon  as  the  technology  doesn’t  shift  or  morph  with  them.  most  werewolves  who  trigger  their  curses  after  already  receiving  upgrades  must  have  them  removed  before  their  first  shift.  hybrids  who  have  been  cybernetically  upgraded  sacrifice  their  abilities  to  shape-shift  so  as  to  avoid  the  same  effects  that  werewolves  suffer.  some  witches  have  also  found  that  extensive  cybernetic  upgrades  or  synthetic  implants  have  caused  their  connection  to  their  magic  to  wane / weaken  or  even  become  unstable,  others  have  adapted  their  magic  to  specialize  in  techno - magic  but  find  other  forms  of  magic  difficult  or  even  impossible  to  perform.  vampires  can  receive  cybernetic  upgrades  and  synthetic  implants  but  must  see  a  supernatural  specialist  so  as  not  to  raise  any  questions.  they  must  also  be  dead  when  performing  the  surgeries  in  order  to  withhold  their  healing  factors  long  enough  for  the  cybernetics  and  synthetic  implants  to  bond  with  the  body.
as  an  original  vampire  kol  is  entirely  incapable  of  receiving  cybernetic  upgrades  or  synthetic  implants  due  to  his  physiology.  when  passing  for  human  this  has  caused  kol  to  be  mistaken  as  a  ‘ purist ’.  a  group  of  mankind  who  reject  cybernetic  upgrades  and  synthetic  implants.  he  possesses  ‘ obsolete ’  technologies  such  as  a  contact  lens  for  communications,  online  internet  streaming,  contact  information,  daily  planner  etcetc  and  a  bracelet  that  acts  as  a  currency  payment  method  whereas  most  in  society  have  implants  capable  of  performing  these  feats.  however,  despite  the  advances  in  technology  and  genetic  manipulation,  kol  is  still  faster,  stronger  and  capable  of  supernatural  feats  that  far  out-wane  other  species  and  besides  marcel,  is  one  of  the  strongest  creatures  in  existence  and  continues  to  become  stronger  and  faster.
side  notes :  as  of  sticking  to  canon - ish,  klaus  &  elijah  died  destroying  the  hollow.  rebekah  received  the  cure  from  damon  and  lived  a  long  human  life,  had  children  and  grew  old.  freya  in  much  the  same  with  rebekah,  lived  her  life  with  keelin.  unless  discussed  with  hopes,  hope  never  became  a  vampire  and  so  she  lived  a  long  life  as a  human / witch.  marcel  runs  new  orleans  and  has  a  large  community  of  loyal  and  steadfast  allies  of  both  vampires  and  witches.  davina  left  a  sizable  legacy  in  witches  community  and  started  the  claire  projects --  an  advanced  magical  schooling  system  that  protects  young  witches  and  cultivates  traditional  magics  as  well  as  spearheading  the  campaigns  of  adapting  magic  for  the  new  technological  age.

10 Ways Playing Board Games Can Benefit Your Mental Health by Gabe Nelson
In one of our latest episodes of the New Level Cap Podcast, we discussed some of the effects and causes of burnout throughout the development process. To follow this up, special guest writer Gabe Nelson steps in to show us how playing board games can help with your mental health in general! Take it away!
10 Ways Playing Board Games Can Benefit Your Mental Health
When you’re looking for ways to relax and have fun board games are a natural choice for many people. They give you a chance to have some fun and just enjoy the company of others around you. They can take the pressure off of social situations by giving your entire group something to enjoy together so conversation flows more naturally.
There are so many types of board games out there that you’re sure to find a great match for your personality and the types of games you enjoy. You can play strategy based games like mahjong or you might enjoy games that are more group-oriented like Monopoly or Risk.
With the internet at your fingertips, you can even play mahjong online or find a group chat about strategies to solve a game of solitaire. There are countless ways you can take some time to relax and enjoy board games in your life. There are even some benefits to be found when it comes to playing board games and your mental health.
If you’re curious about mental health benefits of board games you may not know about yet, you’re in the right place. Here are 10 benefits of playing board games when it comes to your mental health.
1. They Are Natural Stress Reducers
Board games are a fun thing to do, and having fun gets your mind off of things you may be worrying and stressing over. When you’re focused on the board game and not your job, or budget, or whatever else might be going on in life, you’re giving yourself a break. You’re taking some time to breathe and reset your mind.
When you’re playing a board game you’re pulled into another world almost. This is especially true if you play tabletop role-playing games. So if you find yourself stressed and unsure of how to handle it, try playing a game. It could help more than you realize.
2. You Can Play While Increasing Your Mental Agility
Board games aren’t all created equally. While some are just focused on having fun, others really do require a lot of skill and focus. When you’re playing Yahtzee you’ll need to use math skills to make sure you’re choosing the best roll for each slot you’re filling.
Card games like solitaire require you to use your memory in order to win more often than you lose. You’ll be keeping track of the patterns you start to see in the cards you’re dealing out as you flip through your deck. Things like this really help you increase your mental agility without even knowing it. It’s all just fun and games, literally.
3. You’ll Increase Your Self Confidence
Are you someone who worries about your skills in life not being up to par? Maybe you struggle with knowing if you’re a good decision maker, or you aren’t sure if you are able to develop strategies to solve problems effectively. If that’s you, then board games may help more than you realize.
Every time you’re playing a game and you make a decision you’re gaining confidence in your abilities and talents. When you’re working on a winning strategy and it works, you start to see yourself as a capable person who is able to make a good plan. All of these things help you increase your self-confidence. The next time you need a little boost to your self-esteem, try breaking out a board game.
4. You Can Make Great Social Connections
Like you read about earlier, board games give you a way to interact with a group without the pressure of coming up with topics of conversation. Sometimes mental health issues can cause you to want to isolate yourself. Playing a board game is a way to work through that without a lot of extra social pressure.
Focus on games that require group interaction but won’t force you to spend a lot of time thinking of what to say or when to say it. Things that you can just really immerse yourself in the experience are the best option. Playing in a group setting and working towards a common goal, like a cooperative play game would be great choices when you’re trying to stop isolating.
5. You Get To Have Fun
Laughter reduces cortisol, a hormone that occurs when you’re highly stressed out. Although this is related to the reduction of stress you learned about earlier, fun in and of itself is its own benefit. When you play a game that’s all about having fun you’re allowing yourself to really let go and just enjoy life.
Don’t underestimate the power of laughing and enjoying some time with a group of friends. Choose a game that encourages you to act silly, like a game similar to Charades. Anything that gets you to break out of your shell and just be in the moment, having fun. When it comes to having better mental health time spent having fun is never time wasted.
6. Board Games Help You Unplug
When it comes to technology you have a lot of screens in front of you at all times. Whether it’s for work or for something like interacting on social media, it’s easy to get too involved. What that can mean for your mental health is that you start to feel less grounded in reality. You can get lost in the world of tech and lose touch with real life.
This can be a pretty disorienting feeling but board games are a great solution. You’ll want to choose a real board game this time and not an online version, but as you’re playing you’ll notice that you probably feel more grounded. You might start feeling more aware of everything and everyone around you. You can start to enjoy the real things in your life a little more, and that’s a great thing. Don’t underestimate the power of unplugging and playing a board game regularly.
7. You Can End A Fight
Have you ever been bickering back and forth with a spouse or friend for so long you’ve forgotten why you were angry in the first place? It happens to a lot of people, and it’s a very common thing to experience. Surprisingly, board games can be a great way to fix this situation.
If you find yourself in a stalemated fight with a loved one, try playing a game together. Focus on the fun and strategy involved in the game and you’ll find that you are losing the energy to keep being angry or continuing to fight.
The more fun you have together the more likely you are to end a fight that seemed like it would last forever. You’ll give each other the chance to be seen in a more positive light and remember why you enjoy being together. Give a boardgame a try the next time you aren’t sure how else to end a fight with a friend or partner.
8. You’ll Get An Energy Boost
When you’re struggling with mental health issues like depression it can feel like you have no energy at all. Sometimes even getting out of bed really feels impossible. It’s understandable and you don’t need to be ashamed of that. When you’re ready to try and break that cycle you may be left wondering where to turn.
Real life chores might still be too much for you but a board game could be a great place to start. It’s an activity that’s enjoyable, built for having fun, and while you’re doing those things you will start to gain more and more energy naturally. As you go about playing if you really put your heart into it you’ll find that being involved in something interactive gives you the boost you’ve needed.
9. When You’re Overwhelmed, Try A Board Game
This builds on the self-confidence you read about earlier but it’s also a little different. Life can throw a lot at you at one time and getting overwhelmed can stop you from figuring out the best decisions to make to move forward. A great way to practice quick decision-making skills is through board games that use a lot of varying play types and strategies.
As you watch yourself make decisions quickly even if you’re being asked to do two or three things at once, you’ll be gaining skills you can transfer to your real life. It’s like practicing for the big show. The sharper your on the fly decision-making skills are, the less likely you are to get overwhelmed. Think of board games as a way to keep your skills honed and ready to go.
10. Board Games Can Teach Social Skills
When a child plays board games they can learn about social skills that transfer to other areas of life. Board games can teach you about effective communication, patience, waiting your turn, and how to be a graceful winner or loser.
All of these skills are essential to doing well in the real world, so board games are a great way for children or adults with limited social skills to learn these types of things. Most people will just see it as a fun time playing, but the things they’re practicing will be useful for the rest of their lives.
By now you’re probably very clear on some of the best benefits of playing board games. You can see that although they are really meant as a tool to have fun, there are great things that can happen when you’re spending time fully involved in a game. The skills and benefits gained will help you out in your life in many ways.
Now that you know, you’ll never have to discount the time you spent playing a board game as time you could’ve been doing something productive. Playing a board game is productive all on its own, so go enjoy being productive… by playing.

A CYZJ spam (ep. 7)
So for anyone who can’t find it on the tencent account, here’s another link: x
This spam is long, contains spoilers, typos, keyboard smashing and (very) rough translations. Read at your own discretion :)
OP is not paying 100% attention to it because she has to mark stuff so this will be inconsistent and weird. Why she refers to herself in third person’s POV is also unknown to even herself...
- oh? I recognize one of the girls from sing my song! china...
-oh no, promises of tears so early in the episode
-asklhdaslks so zhennan ( i think?) goes “handsome ones, sit at the front” when they have to gather and jun looks so shook, he’s like “bitch, im sitting in the back. what does that mean”
-now they’re joking about the fact jun doesn’t have a partner and he’s jumping from chair to chair to make up for yanan’s absence
-okay, so the round is called double attack and i think they said something about 2 performances
-1st place in the first round does not need to participate in the second round, noice
-no elimination this week, that’s good cuz i”m still mentally exhausted from longfei’s elimination
-samuel is just beginning to understand the situation
-victor says something about produce 101(the chinese version ofc), i think it’s about who he wants to work with. Minghao’s quietly cackling beside him
-samuel thinks justin bieber might come...
-i don’t know most of the girls and i’m bad at remembering names so excuse the mess that is my nicknaming for the guests
-aw the first girl (summer although i thought she said samuel at first) called minghao “little 8″. cute.
-so they get to talk to guests before they choose groups
-oh my god, victor’s english voice is so deep
-ooh second girl, her voice is so soothing,,,,liuxi.....oh wait jun is freaking out how cute. i still haven’t figured out how to romanize her name...i’ll call her xijwing for now
-he’s so shy uwu cute
-eric and xiaowu are playing bazzi
-i remember that girl!!!! i forgot her name but i lover her voice so dam nmuch from her previous shows.
-they’re teasing eric about his dancing again lmao i didn;t catch her name. i'll call her suzy for now
-OH MY GOD the guest for samuel and zhennan isn’t physically there so they just thrust a phone into zhennan’s face so they can talk
-the guest on the phone just said that the boys have never met her but she has met them
-zhennan is so confused oh.... oh her name is Tia
-samuel says he’s better than zhennan oof zhennan is having a rough day (just jokingly don’t worry)
-what kind of high-tech phone stand??? damn that song they’re playing sounds good
-damn victor might be even more insistent than minghao. ahhhhh they said her name but i didn’t catch it
-jun is such a fanboy oh my gosh he’s so cute
-zhennan won’t sing love song
-wow summer’s voice is really great and she sings rock as well as uhhh...how do i say this....songs from the chinese minorities??? oof i’ve never had to say this in english so idk how to explain it
-someone save jun, he’s hiding behind a chair
-wow the8 and victor are so so excited about Summer’s song, it’d be so cool if they collabed
-i want to know more about victor because his english is so fluent and he incorporates it so casually into his chinese. i feel like he speaks chinese  like i do.
-they get to choose in order of their ranking so victor’s excitement was in vain
-victor and the8 are popular
-the animation on the phone stand is killing me
- zhennan refuses to speak...oh wait he’s speaking
-AQAHHHH HURRY UP AND CHOOSE
-ahhh i wish they didn’t choose her i wanted to see minghao and victor to choose her (but that’s fine, i’ll look forward to their performance too) oh no victor’s gonna be pissed
-he looks like he’s hiding his dissapointment oh no
-i’ll take a wild guess that victor’s from socal. i wouldn’t know, never been there, just a wild guess
-lmao she’s volunteering to help choose
-okay little blonde girl’s name is xouxou, i think,,,that’s how you romanize it
-i feel kinda bad for Tia but Jun is at least happy with the choice he got left with so all’s good
-lmao the power of wechat bringing people together
-YANAN IS BACK
-THE JUN/YANAN SHIP IS SAILING
-tia has arrived in person
-practise with no audio but intense bg music
-damn, taking paid promotion to the extreme. none of the guests have realised it’s a joke yet
-”brring brring”
-yikes jun lost his voice yiiikkkkeeess
-this is serious but it’s so funny how xiaowu’s tip to jun is literally to “shut up”
-they’re lucky they got Tia, she seems quite knowledgeable about vocal techniques
-jun went to the washroom to practise singing because he has to “push” to go to the washroom and it will help him sing; i’m cackling
-i also feel bad for yanan, this is a hell of a way to return to the show
-ahhhh nervous about jun’s voice. this performance looks amazing though (from what little i am seeing right now)
-okay so far so good
-the performance is really good. I’m happy Jun was able to pull through and i’m so thankful to Tia for helping so much
-aww minghao and victor wants her to be the “goddess” in the performanceas in she’s like... unattainable??
-minghao says that she’s his ideal type and victor tries to clarify the ideal type under what context because, well... if it’s romantic, it would be scandalous
-okay so the story of the performance is that Minghao and Victor has 2 different love related relationships with Xijwing. Victor wants to be with her and Minghao is an ex
-i look away for 1 second and minghao is mid flip
-if i was to be critical, i would say that their performance lacks a bit of connection between the 3 although i think the concept they went for didn’t help, otherwise it was great
-xouxou looks so put together and formal wow i’m not used to her dressing like that
-oh no, eric’s laptop overheated
-adslsdjlsfdj he looks so worried
-she does aegyo on him but it’s not working, i’ve never seen him like this alsdjsdfk
-xouxou’s voice is so unique, it’s actually hypnotizing
-the world is against eric, poor boy
-i’ve said this twice but let me say this again, xouxou’s voice is seriously one of a kind
-wow, that was magical
-(as of now), if eric, xiaowu and xouxou doesn’t win, i’m gonna riot
-oh she recommends a kanye song (i don’t like kanye)
-okay i guess it’s chosen, oh well, the song itself is at least good
-damn, samuel is an amazing artist (they’re exchanging gifts)
-zhennan is worried his present doesn’t meet up to samuel’s iron man figurine
-ZHENNANIS INTERVENING ON SAMUEL’S HABIT OF EATING RAMEN (as a gift) IM DYING
-they want sunny to rap, then they ask if she can dance (they want to make the last chorus different, like more exciting), they end up deciding on something to do with her walking down from a platform or something like that
-samuel forgets sunny’s name lmao he gets confronted by her
-oooh zhennan has white tips and a top hat, it’s a good look
-*randomly cuts to xouxou being very excited for 1 short second in the middle of the performance*
-it’s a good performance, they all did their part well, i think samuel and zhounnan has developped a sort of formula that works for them
-it ends before the results. they show bits of all 4 performances so i guess 1 of them is just for show and doesn’t count with votes
-the ending shows samuel imitating zhennan’s habits on stage
-why can noone read what’s on the paper
-LMAO xiaowu can’t speak for 10 minutes and does charades
-well that’s about it, thanks for tuning in. damn, this was longer than i thought. if anyone needs clarification about my spamming, my ask box is open. peace out

Ducklings as they grow up masterpost
hey, so i’ve made a lot of posts about how everyone grows up and for your convenience i’ve decided to put the important bits plus extra into one post.
this gets long to under the cut it goes
Huey
13-16: wears sweater vests because he’s a nerd. Around 15 he realises he’s asexual and is generally pretty chill about it and is generally not interested in dating. Puberty is fine except for when his voice breaks and for a while it just… randomly pitches higher. Donald gets how he feels since when he hit puberty the same thing happened (so between that and his speech impediment puberty was not fun for Donald). Huey’s siblings tease him relentlessly for it tho.
17-21: still wearing a sweater vest. Still not interested in dating, but people who talk to him are and his naturally sweet nature means a lot of people crush on him, not that he really notices (boy can tell from the next room that Louie has fallen in love again but can’t tell when someone is flirting with him smh). Is learning to fly from his mother and Launchpad, so he’s not only going to be able to fly expertly, but also be able to survive and repair/rebuild after any crash. Ends up about average height for a duck, like Donald or Scrooge’s height and gains some muscle.
21+: finally changed his look and now tends to wear overalls. At some point, Ma Beagle passes away and Huey is asked by Bouncer and Burger to take over, which ticks off Big-Time and a small group of the other Beagle Boys. the rest embrace his leadership and make peace with his family as he changes the groups from a criminal gang to model citizens. They do a lot of charity work like recycling, building homes for the homeless and raising money for the needy etc. and the Junior Woodchucks are flooded with the youngest members of the family. There are also a lot of turf wars with the Beagles who broke off, they call themselves the Big-Timers now.
Dewey
13-16: cycles through various adventurer-style outfits and does not suit any of them, mainly because he has dozens of zits and keeps having random growth spurts which makes him all gangly and awkward. Bi as hell and uses bad pick-up lines when he has a crush. Getting a more in-depth education on sailing from Donald. Has developed a tendency to jump onto high places and belt out musicals out of nowhere. Is also being taught to fight by Webby.
17-21: finally picks a look, tank tops and sleeveless denim jackets, and he’s also considering getting an anchor tattoo (don’t tell Donald). Actually looks pretty good since he turns out really tall (like, a head shorter than LP) and gains a lot of muscle, he loves being tall since it drives Huey crazy. Tries to be a suave, flirty adventurer, but can’t flirt to save his life, so it drives him nuts that Huey gets so much attention without even realising it. Loves to party, sneaks into clubs a lot.
21+: sticks to denim, does get the tatoo (Donald faints), still can’t flirt. When Scrooge retires they go adventuring together with Dewey working as skipper. Very capable on adventures now, what with the skills he learned with Webby and Scrooge, but often needs his uncle to drag him out of danger (and visa versa).
Louie
13-16: goth phase. He ends up with Scrooge and Fergus’ sideburns, and more or less looks like Scrooge did as a teenager. Wears a black, zip up hoodie over a green shirt, green hair dye on his bangs, and too much eye-liner. Gay edgy boy with a diary full of bad poems. Reads the Duckverse equivalent of Twilight and develops an unhealthy concept of romance where his type is jerks with heart of gold; falls in love with jerks with hearts of jerk super easily, cries a lot. Retains some sense of humor, mainly in the form of standing behind Scrooge and mirroring his movements, Manny sometimes joins in.
17-21: over his goth phase. Very confident, snappy dresser, wears blazers, scarves, and bling. Also really short and chubby and cute, loves himself. A good hustler and gambler (he cheats like crazy) to make some cash since he’s stuck as an unpaid intern at the Money Bin (Scrooge: you’re being paid in experience. Fenton: that means he’s cheap. Louie: don’t I know it). Has moved on from duck-Twilight to awful romance novels and duck-Fifty Shades of Gray. So he still has terrible taste in men and gets his heart broken (he eats so much ice cream). Can use his rep as “Love-struck Louie” to trick suckers into thinking he’s fallen in love with them for hustling purposes, but he has to be careful because this can backfire if he accidentally does fall for them. Also flirts to get what he wants and has a really good gaydar, no matter how deep in the closet someone is.
21+: turns out hard work really does pay off! When Scrooge retires to go adventuring full-time, Louie’s the only one with the experience and any actual desire to run the company. Wears tailor-made gray suits and silk, green ties. Remodels the manor and loves throwing lavish parties hosted by the ghosts of Beakley and Duckworth. Is actually a hard worker, pulling all nighters, as well as putting a lot of money into charity. “Recommends” the board of vultures who stopped Scrooge from searching for Della retire, replaces them with new members, including Gyro and Fenton, and makes Manny head of R & D. Also hires Webby as his bodyguard and keeps LP on as his chauffeur. Also finally burns all those romance novels and tries harder to protect his heart. For reasons i don’t fully understand, I love the idea of Louie and Mark Beaks becoming enemies. Like, maybe mirroring Scrooge and Glomgold; they take over the Billionaires club and spend their time there glaring at each other, whilst their bodyguards Webby and Graves (because I said so) are on hand to keep them from getting into a slap fight. The rest of their time is spent trying to outdo each other in new tech (and with Gyro and Fenton now being part of his board of directors there’s no end to the ideas to one-up the jerk).
Webby
17-21: doesn’t grow much, she and Louie end up around the same height as adults. Lesbian. Still loves the colour pink, and also denim jackets; wears a handkerchief wrapped around her head instead of a bow (like this but pink). As hyper and excited about the world and adventures as she’s always been, but thanks to the influence of her honorary siblings she’s ridiculously sarcastic. she’s also become a bit of a prankster, so everyone in the manor has developed a habit of slowly and carefully opening doors and cabinets in case anything jumps out, checking “treasure” for price labels, and making sure maps and documents relating to treasure and artifacts are what they appear to be. Duckworth and occasionally Della are often her partners in crime. Joins in when Dewey randomly starts singing. She’s in the process of officially joining SHUSH.
21+: as I said, she becomes Louie’s bodyguard, but that’s mainly an excuse to hang out with him, and is also her cover for her other job as a SHUSH agent, since Louie can actually defend himself just fine (she also keeps him awake during board meetings). Wears a black suit when on bodyguard duty and a pink catsuit on missions. Grows her hair out and ties it back with a pink bow.
Lena
16-21: pansexual. Generally wears a heavy coat over a dress and various enchanted items of jewelry that Scrooge lets her keep. BTW yes Scrooge has long since adopted her and is now her dad. About as interested in dating as Huey is, but might still flirt if she finds someone cute; having said that she’s gotten into more than one fight with Louie over a boy (but if the guy is interested in Louie she chases him off since he’s clearly a creep, Louie’s a kid after all). She’s generally a pretty chill person, but she does struggle to make her needs known to her family and is kind of closed off around new people. Has power over both dark and light magic (a connection to shadows and celestial objects, can travel through shadows and shape shift + general magic stuff), but for a while she has poor impulse control, even though she wants to use it for good. Luckily, she finds Scraps the familiar, and black and white corgi who protects her and tries to keep her from doing dumb stuff with her magic.
21+: develops into a powerful sorceress, recognised by various magical authorities as Empress of Light and Queen of Shadows. Wears black with various shades of blue and purple, wears long skirts and long baggy sleeves, generally develops a more elegant style. Outside Duckburg everyone believes her to be the town’s mysterious sorceress and protection, to its citizens she commands a certain amount of respect but is generally regarded as Lena McDuck, the girl who blew up Funzo’s when she was fifteen and who occasionally shows up out of nowhere, her corgi likes to be petted too.
