Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
Character design based on the toothbrush from Peter Combe’s ‘Down In The Bathroom’, a kids song about the tragedy of discarding an old toothbrush. It resonated very hard with me when I was little. And now <33
Re-Animator (1985) and Bride of Re-Animator (1990) v.s The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
I love these films so much !!! After seeing The Curse of Frankenstein I immediately saw the similarity between their dynamic and the the one between Herbert West and Daniel Cain
Jeff Combs was someone who I had known from the Re-Animator movies. I'd never met him, but I was a big Re-Animator fan. Still am. You know, these films are about 10 years old, and I hadn't seen him.
Doing any movies in recent times, and I wondered, you know, "Where's the Re-Animator guy now?" He'd be someone who was interesting, and I mentioned his name to Victoria Burrows. And she tracked him down and asked him to come in to audition for us.
I remember the first time that Jeff walked into the audition room, he ran up to me and he shook my hand, and he says, his first words were: "Do you know you and I are both in the Fangoria Hall of Fame?"
Jeffrey Combs:
This is very rare. He met me before I auditioned. He wanted to just meet me and say, "This is sort of what I'm looking for. Now go away and come back in 10 minutes and we'll do it."

This is a water colour based on Tadpole Blues by Peter Combe. It was my absolute favourite song when I was a kid and it's honestly still one of my favourites.
It's a song about growing up! I think it has a really good message about how difficult it is to change. But it's really rather nice to be a frog...
Heehoo Jeffrey Combs fans (and spooky movie nerds) ! Does anyone remember that one gif of Jeff as Milton Dammers goofing off ? It was a night vision shot, very green and dark. It was rumored to have been part of a cast lipsync to 'Kung Fu Fighting', iirc.
My question is.
What happened to that video ?
a friend of mine literally owns SEVEN versions of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray and hasn't found it. Where does that gif come from ?????
He proceeded to do a really, you know, great audition. We put him through the hoops. I remember he wanted to audition with his glasses on. He had an idea that this character wore glasses. And I couldn't imagine Dammers in glasses, so I asked him to take his glasses off after the first take.
Jeffrey Combs:
Now, you have to imagine, I'm blind. I can't see. I've got pages. Fortunately, I had it memorised, but I always have that crutch, and I, So I had to basically take my glasses off and act with Michael J. Fox as a blur before me. It was pretty weird. I have a blurry memory of what the audition was like.
