god there's something so special about dnp's sims play-through. like you have sims youtubers who play with so many different households that you can't really get invested and you have other gaming youtubers who played the sims for a while when it was trendy but dont play it anymore, meanwhile here's dan and phil, who have been slowly expanding the lore of their sims series over the course of almost ten years, calling their sims their children, dressing up for the weddings, coming up with in-universe plot reasons for irregularities. its like a long game of pretend or a story of ocs that you get really invested in and add to its lore over time as you grow up. its just so fun to follow along with and see where it goes :)

phil symbolizing dan’s comfort zone and his home in his 2021 pride video made me sob like a baby the second time watching it
the way he has to send phil away in order to be self-introspective, regretful, and sad reminded me when they said in dystopia daily that dan had tried to move away from phil because he was too “comfortable” and phil was just like “no.”
AND THE WAY that after dan completed his introspective journey in his queer identity and was super overwhelmed he called for phil to help.
dan howell is an actual genius!! the more we learn about his journey the more the i understand his artistic decisions in his projects and i love it

we've got chemistry, we either gonna kiss each other or headbutt each other, and you never know what. phil is disgustingly talented, he can sing, he can dance, he can do frontflips, he can act, he can do comedy, he can do sound effects, he can play football very well... there's really nothing he can't do, other than believe in himself enough.
