What are your favorite Chase moments from the show so far?
Just like with Zuma's post, it's in no specific order, I just really loved all these moments
That first Mission PAW episode when the Princess chose specifically HIM to be the watch dog and guard her crown. That was so adorable I can't even. He seemed so genuinely proud and happy there! Plus he's so damn cute wearing that tux lol
When they were going to rescue Skye and Chase was so worried upon hearing that she was the one in need of rescue. Then when Ryder was choosing which pups would be part of the rescue, that moment he was like "Pick meee pick meeee-"?? That was so cute, he really cares about her and wanted to impress her so bad lmao personally make sure she would be safe (Bonus points for his excitement over being picked for the rescue and everyone else like Go ahead king, we all know you wanted this XD)
The entire time he spent with the owlet and working to rescue the mama owl from that fallen tree. It was so sweet!! The fact I also love owls surely didn't help AUSHAUSHAUSHAU I love that episode SO MUCH
That moment when he finally turned into a Merpup. Poor boy was so fixated on "being on duty" despite wanting SO BAD to go and participate in "the fun". And he couldn't even enjoy being a merpup immediately because he was transformed just because he needed to swim faster for the rescue but he was so overjoyed anyway! Only after that mess, he could go and finally have the fun he wanted and deserved so much.
That moment in the first Sea Patrol episode when he and Skye were left behind at the beach while the rest of the team went on the first mission with the Sea Patroller. His face upon SEEING the HQ turn into a ship and sail away was just priceless XD (Also it's rare to see Chase being put on the sidelines for once lmao)
The first Ultimate Rescue episode!! God, Chase was SO HAPPY. He's THE Police Pup, he gets to lead the mission, supervise, plan, give orders. And the way all the other pups clearly loved the experience and were SO ON BOARD with being Police Pups with him, it was just awesome!
So far these are my favorite moments! Actually I legit just got to watch this first Ultimate Rescue episode like one hour ago. Not to mention it took me five days to think of these moments and then go find the episodes again to take the respective screenshots XD

NGL I think one of my least favorite "gotchas" that I see/get while critiquing stories is "so how would you fix it? oh so you don't have an idea of how to rewrite the story to make it better? oh so basically you're just complaining that you don't like it and don't have actual critique."
Buddy.
Sometimes the reason I don't have a "solution" to how the author should've rewritten their story to be better, is because I'm not privy to the author's thought process, what their alternate story ideas were, what they talked about with their editor, what they might've been forced to do by deadlines, or even what they might've thought they were writing towards at first but then later changed the trajectory of their story to be about something else.
It's all well and good for me to say something like, idk, "I think Character A should've gotten more narrative focus because their story could have helped fix XYZ Plot Hole," but it could very well be that the author never intended for Character A to be a prominent character (just a secondary or tertiary character). Maybe using Character A to solve one Plot Hole would've gone against the writer's plans because then it would open up a different plot hole for something else they had planned later in the story. If it's an ongoing story, maybe something I see as a "plot hole" is actually a deliberate mystery that the creator left open to write about later-- or maybe the plot hole is because there was a deadline crunch and the author had to drop a certain character/plot point/etc because they couldn't fit it into the story any more. Maybe having Character A be a more prominent part of the story is just based on MY personal tastes and what I would want to write in MY version of the story, but completely clashes with the characters/conflicts the author wanted to focus on.
Because yes, there are some story critiques that are as simple as "part A doesn't make sense, you could just fix it by doing B", but there are also some story critiques where suggesting a viable "solution" would require BEING the author or someone involved in the production of the story to understand what limitations or plans were involved in the selection of that flawed plot point. There are also some story critiques where even if there is a "problem" and my critique offers a "solution," there could be another "solution" or even dozens that do just as good of a job fixing the issue, but involve vastly different characters, plot ideas, so on and so forth.
Being a good critic isn't (just) about going "the story would've been better if X happened" because the story is ultimately in control of the author and their vision, and without knowing what the author's vision was (something that you almost exclusively know if you're 1. the author or 2. their beta reader), it's impossible to definitively say "this plot point should've been cut/[completely different thing] should've happened instead" because THAT is the point at which you're complaining, not critiquing. I would argue that in some cases, trying to "fix" a story yourself actually makes your critique worse, not better, because it ends up being a case of you simply imposing your artistic vision over the author's to say "I think it would've been better this way."
At least if you just say "this part of the story was flawed because XYZ" without saying "it should have been ABC instead", then you're stating your grievances with the story without being presumptuous enough to assume that YOUR version of the story would fit the author's original vision, or the constraints they were working under, or the other versions of the story that they were debating over at the time before ultimately settling on one version (even if flawed).
There's a point at which "this plot is flawed, that should've happened instead" is just fix-it fan fiction and not actual critique that could help the writer write their story in a way that fits their vision.

Learning more about CRISPr actually gives my whole DNA maintenance and "thresholds"(a personal concept in my own world) theories more credence. Interesting they've fixed genetic issues but something in the body remembers the old "incorrect" or "damaged" DNA/genetics and fixes back to that state.
So, more to explore in future chapters and fics with all things touched by the Elders having varying DNA/genetic problems due to lack of maintenance and/or planned issues. Fun time limits to explore for the various subjects. Importance and usefulness may give you a longer or tighter leash!
And makes the Elders more imperfect in my book too, and more ideas for their own health issues to explore.

(I like my own prompts. This is what happens when I have no self control and no responsibilities.)
Prompt is "The Underground Market and it's customers", from my own prompt sideblog ( @s2esmpprompts btw :] )
---
Humans are such curious things, with their gathering and trading of things.
Sometimes the trades make sense, like a basket of food for something shiny, or an excess for another's excess.
Bdubs didn't quite undrestand the.. bartering that they would do.
"So you really don't use diamonds? Really? None at all?" He questioned a different emperor this time, wondering if there were things even Mythical Sausage didn't know.
Scott, creator and leader of Chromia, the color kingdom, gave him a smirk and said with a faux casual tone, "Well, there is one place.. but it doesn't legally exist."
Humans and their words. So confusing for no reason.
Luckily for Bdubs, Scott continued. "It's a market of sorts. But the only stuff that's sold there aren't things that are allowed to be sold. I sell hats, like my fedora. Harmless, unless the sheriff decides to break out the handcuffs for a night."
Bdubs doubted that considering the mischievous look on his face when the Sheriff was mentioned. "And the Sheriff knows about this place?"
"Oh no! He's the only one not allowed to know. It's mostly just funny at this point. Why? Wanna make sure you don't get on his bad side? Cause that's pretty hard with a man like him. He finds issues everywhere, and looking at Fwhip, holds a long grudge."
Bdubs still didn't understand, but decided to humor him. "I think I like my sunglasses more, fits me as the Sun God, y'know?"
Scott chuckled. "Oh yes, handsome glasses on a handsome god. Just let me know if you ever want a new wardrobe, cause I can hook you up if you want."
Bdubs took offense at the comment, shouting with his whole chest. "My cloak is a timeless piece of art! I handcrafted it over the course of decades! I shall never wish to replace it with mortal clothing!"
Bdubs ignored the weird look on the other's face and marched off to Chromias nether portal to go complain to Princess Gem. She'd agree with him, he knew it!
