"Professor Dream"
1. This really starts with Dream getting dragged into Calliope's classes to do poetry readings. It is next to impossible to say no to her these days and she knows it. Obviously, the incentive here is that he is, of course, inspired by thoughts of Hob especially when it's love poetry. Inevitably, everyone walks out of that room with a severe case of kilig meltdown afterwards.
2. Hob forgives him, of course, when it's Shakespeare. Also the Sonnet 29 Incident is still fresh in everyone's minds so it's not like Hob has a lot of ground to stand on right now. "Sodding Sonnet 29 gets me every sodding time."
3. Lucienne already knows to prepare for the inevitable arrival of flowers. The one who is happiest about this is Nuala, the newest addition to the Castle Staff, because as a member of the Fair Folk, she does love her blooms. She shares them with Snottor.
4. The Pinoy students are ENTIRELY responsible for coining the phrase "Kilig Apocalypse" and having this spread all over campus. The reason? Calliope convinced Dream AND Hob Gadling to do a reading from one of Kit Marlowe's plays. Who knew Professor G had such mad acting skills? "I was inspired by the greatest of all Muses," was the very wry response to that, with a pointed glance at Calliope who just laughed at them both.
5. Hob, of course, is always the gentleman and made sure she got flowers and a lovely tin of chocolate fudge cookies the following day. All of his students knew better than to ask about the nice tartan scarf that he kept on even while he was in the classroom. They all loved him, to be honest, and really didn't want to disrupt his obvious good mood. He was also pretty cute to look at, what with the near permanent blush.
6. So, of course, all of these shenanigans get around to the head of the Literature Department, who asks Calliope to bring Dream around for a meeting.
"Why am I not surprised to find you heading the Literature Department in this university?" was Dream's first wry reaction upon meeting her.
"Well met, my Lord Morpheus," purred the lady who was currently known in this century as Mary Godwin. "Since our dear Lady Calliope has spoken so glowingly about your good influence upon our students, we'd like to present a proposal to you."
"Present your case then."
Dream knows he doesn't really stand a chance here but he's going to have some fun with this before he gracefully gives in to the inevitable.
7.  Look, we all know that Dream has a very soft spot indeed for storytellers and he isn't Prince of Stories for nothing.  He's very fond of this storyteller in particular, especially since she'd been in and out of the Dreaming all her life.   So this is how he gets convinced to hold a limited series of classes for the university's grad students about the power of stories and myths.  Which is promptly overbooked.
8.  The name Dream uses to conduct these classes is "Thomas Murphy" to avoid any confusion.  What confusion? Well, because his paperwork actually reads:  Thomas Morpheus Gadling.

sharing some of my xyx headcanons
so that my mind will be at Peace, i'd like to share some of my own xyx headcanon crumbsszxs, related to him being Filipino and other random stuff (from a Filipino [me] who can't stop having xyx brainrots. v detailed, sort of political, and self-indulgent themes ahead):
his parents are full-blooded filipinos, who decided to migrate to australia (to have a better life~~) (taking it from my experience of having relatives telling u to get a job/move abroad bc living in the ph suckz)
his dad passed away when he was in his early teen years. his mom married a local aussie man years later.
yes, he loved his dad so much. his dad was That Present, Supportive Father yeh
he grew up seeing his parents being so loving, caring, etc to each other. like that was his basis of love; he wanted to experience what his parents had. he hoped for it so much that i guess after how many heartbreaks (uhuh lovesick teenager xyx), he got tired and gave it up lol (until fLASH FORWARD to meeting us, and there: the love that was really something. not just the idea of something *bow)
his sister (yes, he has one) is a nurse and he is a lawyer. not bc they were coerced by their parents, but they just really decide it for themselves (imagine the number of times they had to say "no, really. i just want to be one") (v random hc, yes)
he used to visit the ph when he was young. those trips stopped since most of his family members already moved to australia too, and other places abroad.
even though he speaks english with a strong australian accent, it's like it's turned off when he speaks tagalog.
(i reckon that he can speak better tagalog than me 🕴 Jose Rizal be laughing in his grave rn)
he grew out of his catholic roots when he lived by himself, but still tries complete all 9 Simbang Gabi/Misa de Gallo masses. to have some connection with his devote catholic mom, and to honor the times he spent attending these masses with his late dad. (i like Simbang Gabis because of the native delicacies being sold outside the church every after mass)
after the first time you attended Simbang Gabi with xyx, he made a mental note to add Ben&Ben's Bibingka to his playlist about u (v self-indulgent but iykyk) (well if he has one) (i think he does tho)
he is Anti-Marcos and you cannot convince me otherwise. (he could've been that guy who called out marcos jr. personally when he was in aus for a family vacation) (can't find the video of it SKSKSKS)
he was supposed to study in the ph for college because attending university in australia is Expensive ™. luckily, he was able to enter one with a scholarship.
if he didn't though, he probs studied in UP or Ateneo (xyx wearing the UP sablay... as an iska, *tucks hair behind ear*)
(to my fellow filo/filo-speaking bp players) he didn't tell you he was filipino and can speak tagalog when you first got together. he decided to keep it to himself for a while bc he wanted to see your reaction 😎 the moment you knew was when he responded to an endearment you said in tagalog.
"so all along, you understood what i was saying?" "yes." "🕴️" "also your tagalog sucks." "oh f*ck off (affectionately)"
there is a news article about him written by a local ph news source. headline was "Australia-Raised Filipino Lawyer helped win big case vs. big company" something something. (you can smell the Pinoy Pride 🇵🇭 XD comments from here)
xyx listens to OPM !!! it's his 3rd most played genre on Spotify.
he grew up listening to it because of his dad (it is a way for dad to cope with his homesickness) (one more and i'll make a separate hc post about his dad)
with that info, lemme tell u that you both once danced to Ang Huling El Bimbo and/or Panalangin
v sorry for the many random, unorganized thoughts lol and the grammar errors. anyw lemme know what you also think ‽‽
(OPM songs i listened to while writing this: Isang Anghel by zild *highly recommend!!; dekada '70 by zild; Torete by moonstarr88)
(also gonna promote my bloomic but pinoy shitposting hehe)

How P-pop Have Reinvented Itself through K-pop
Sing, dance, rap—these are the core elements of pop groups. Although the concept is not new, it has been popularized by South Korea over the years. As a result, other countries followed suit and created a group of their own, infusing their language and culture, such as the Philippines with their own P-pop or Pinoy pop. Although P-pop has a long history, the current generation of P-pop uses the K-pop system as its foundation, which raises a question on the identity of P-pop. The introduction of P-pop in the masses received mixed reactions from the Filipinos, especially Filipino K-pop fans, for its attempt to replicate the look and sound of K-pop. Public figures, such as Imelda Schweighar and Janus Del Prado, criticized the attempt highlighting that they are losing their identity trying to be Koreans. As a pioneering P-pop group, SB19 is a testament on how some Filipinos prove their perspectives by setting them as an example of a K-pop group copy. This, in turn, shows an opposite image of P-pop to the Filipino people.
P-pop drew origins from K-pop as can be observed on their training, fashion, and music styles; however, tracing back its history, it has long existed even before K-pop began. Moreover, K-pop itself is influenced by Japanese pop and western music, making it a hybrid musical tradition. This emphasizes that music evolves overtime with the influence of music itself and other various factors, such as social and cultural factors.
Although P-pop is closely similar to K-pop, it is not truly replicating K-pop and the success of it. For instance, Alamat. They use the K-pop system, but they also consistently display the rich culture of the Philippines through their fashion that sometimes include indigenous outfits, and music that sometimes uses multiple languages to make a difference. There is also SB19 that started with K-pop influences but uses it as a foundation to reinvent Filipino pop music as they grow and infuse more their Filipino roots. This exemplifies that K-pop serves only as a reference for P-pop to thrive in the scene where K-pop dominates, which catalyzes for it to evolve. Furthermore, the indulgence of Filipino music labels and Filipino companies to P-pop might come as a strategy and way to introduce a niche of music to possibly entice Filipinos of the same music interests to gradually lean back to listening more Filipino music.
P-pop is still in its infancy stage to date. For Filipinos who are unaccustomed to this kind of music and for Filipino K-pop fans who are more into K-pop music, P-pop will sound more as novelty, and it will take a long time for Filipinos to accept P-pop as a now becoming part of the Filipino music culture. Longevity of music relies not just on the support it is receiving but also on its uniqueness as a music; hence, reinvention must be made for P-pop to look and sound more authentically Filipino.
Indeed P-pop drew inspiration from K-pop; however, this does not necessarily make P-pop a copy of K-pop. Music is influenced by the world and through time, they evolve to a music that is unique on its own, and P-pop is just one of that music that transcends to become a music that embodies a pop distinct to Filipinos.

Pinoy movie 001 // Ngayon Kaya
Here's the plot (wikipedia):
Five years after going their separate ways, close friends Harold and AM unexpectedly reunite after arriving late at the wedding of their friends, Justin and Charmaigne. Old feelings resurface as the two reflect on their almost decade-long friendship, pretend to live the lives taken away by their clashing dreams and obligations, and lament their many "what could have beens." Will they get it right this time around, or will they have to go on wondering what life would've been like if they didn't let their chance pass them by a second time?
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
So ito ang masasabi ko
ANG GANDA
ANG SAKIT
NAKAKAPANGHINAYANG
Story:
Indie film ba ito? Pang indie film kase yung story kase ang ganda talaga. Yung tipong may hugot, parang "boring" pero deep yung atake.
Cinematography:
Isa to sa mga pinoy films na naganda ako sa cinematography like ang ganda lang talaga. Yung color grading ang ganda rin. Kung e rarate ko ito i'll give this 9/10
I'll give you guys snippets from the film:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Music:
Ang ganda rin ng choice of music nila nagkataon pa talaga na trending yung jopay by mayonnaise these days. Pero di ko masyadong na appreciate yung pagkanta ni paulo like i'm sorry 😭 pero sige pwede na 😅
Actors:
Janine gutierrez ang galing mo as always.
Realization after watching the movie:
● what if? — kung gusto mo talaga na wala kang pagsisihan, take a risk.
● may nabasa ako na "don't expect what you can't communicate"; tama naman.
‼️ SPOILER ALERT ‼️
Pero maiba ako, diba medyo confusing yung last part? Do the right thing harold. Dami mo ng sinaktan 😂✌🏻 pero seriously mas mabuti talaga na tumuloy si harold sa canada and break up with his fiance and work on himself, mag move on. Ito yung ultimate lesson from the film na "pag di pa tayo tapos sa past natin, wag muna mag commit sa iba."

Food Blog
Tumblr media
This is a Korean corn dog; it is one of the famous street foods in Korea. If you watch Korean mukbang, you'll probably notice that corn dogs will not be missed. As korean corn dogs go trendy on social media, I was craving for them and also confused by how they tasted. And while scrolling through my Facebook, I saw a post from the SM Consolacion page that there is a newly opened cafe named Itaewon that offers Korean foods that are perfectly suited for Pinoy taste buds, and on the next day I went there to try their corn dog. As I get my order, I can't help but take pictures of the food. After that, I immediately ate it, and my reaction was like, "OMG, really?" How, how does this Korean corn dog be this good (just an honest review, hehe)? This corn dog is delicious! It has a great, crispy outer layer and the perfect amount of sweetness. The sausage is also cooked perfectly, and it's juicy and flavorful. Overall, this corn dog is an addictive treat that I can't get enough of!
As I am done eating, I observed that the cafe has a nice interior design, the design is minimalist inspired, the place and surrounding is clean. The price are worth the taste, also, staffs are very friendly and accommodating, and will surely be back there.
So if you are a Korean food lover or craving for Korean foods, then Itaewon is the best place to be, your cravings will be satisfied. It is located at the ground floor of SM Consolacion, Cebu North Road Barangay Lamac, Consolacion Cebu. Support local:).

QUEZON, MANILA -- A saddened momentous terrestrial developments signaling a major shift in the landscape of Philippine entertainment, Pinoy Interactive Entertainment (PIE) Channel is officially set to air a final broadcast on Sunday night (December 31st, 2023 at 11pm -- Manila local time) as DWKC-TV 31 in Metro Manila and here in Central Visayas as DYCT-TV 31 in Cebu and Dumaguete. The culmination of this long-standing collaboration of 917Ventures (who is subsidairy of Globe Telecom), KROMA Entertainment and ABS-CBN Corporation, comes as a response to changing viewer habits and the channel's decision to fully embrace the digital era.
The decision to bid adieu to 917Ventures, under subsidiary of Globe Telecom and two other entertainment entities stems from the evolving dynamics of the entertainment industry, with lower viewership on Philippine Cable TV (with the examples of SkyCable and Cignal) prompting a strategic pivot towards online platforms. The move is aligned with PIE Channel's vision to adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving media landscape.

PIE Channel releases the first of its own Christmas Station ID in mid-November 2022. And the rest is history ends with these current shows of PIE Shorts, Kung Saka-Sakali, Watchawin, Mukhang Perya, Sinong Manok Mo?, Tamang Himala and Ur Da Boss.
In an official statement released by KROMA Entertainment on late-November 2023, the entertainment powerhouse expressed excitement about embracing the new digital era through PIE Channel. The move aligns with the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation and meeting the evolving preferences of Filipino audiences, to catering televised players to participate every single game shows.
This ongoing shift into an online platform isn't just a strategic decision for PIE Channel, but also a reaction to the evolving dynamics of viewer behaviors. With an increasing number of audiences turning to digital platforms for their entertainment needs, PIE Channel aims to meet them where they are – on the web. As part of this shift, PIE Channel will be hosting its content on the PIE Channel website in a coming days or weeks, accessible via the PIE website from 2024 onwards. This move towards digitalization is expected to open up new possibilities for audience engagement, allowing PIE Channel to connect with its viewers on a more interactive and dynamic level.
Fans and followers expressed their sentiments on social media platforms, with many acknowledging the channel's contributions to Philippine entertainment throughout the years.

Subsequent to the final sign-off broadcast on the PIE Channel, a momentous notable transition occurred nationwide. A group of popular K-Pop stars wore Barong Tagalogs while participating in the South Korean variety show “Idol Truck” filmed in Clark, Pampanga.
In this show’s 13th episode, Sandara Park and her fellow K-Pop stars, DinDin, WINNER’s Jinu, and NU’EST’s JR and ARON visited a boutique and tried on Filipino clothing.
Tumblr media
(Source: Photos are posted by @daraxxi on Instagram)
Igniting the Filipinos’ Pride through the Posts
Filipino fans reacted and shared on Sandara’s Instagram posts. The view of Philippine barong Tagalog clothes on international stars has resulted in many Pinoy fans expressing their reaction and admiration for international personalities.
Before becoming a K-Pop idol, Sandara was part of the reality show Star Circle Quests in 2004. The show was popular at the time, and was the factor that helped Sandara rise to popularity. After competing in the show, Sandara starred in various shows in ABS-CBN, such as Crazy for You, And Your Song: Everything you Do, to name a few.
Sandara took to Instagram to express her gratitude towards her Filipino fans. Forever!”
She also followed it with “Sa halos lahat ng generation, naalala pa nila ako. Kahit sa mall, sa market, sa restaurant, sa lahat ng places. Nakakagulat. I’m so happy!”
The Korean celebrity is touched for the continued support and acknowledging the enduring remembrance towards her fans.
The Impact of Barongs Among the Locals
The photo that Sandara shared greatly shows how elegant these celebrities are with the local barongs. It instills and triggers Filipinos’ deep pride in the country, where wearing traditional national clothing adorned by popular figures is a sight.
It gives the Filipinos the feeling that they are admired by looking at their best with our national costume. When well-known figures don these attires, it sends a message that showcases the Philippines’ rich heritage and its worth of global recognition.
Additionally, celebrities, such as Sandara, pique the interests of people on a worldwide scale, potentially boosting the country’s tourism and demand for Filipino products.
It is especially the case when Sandara visits the country and wears traditional clothes alongside her fellow K-idols, bringing light to the local establishments and clothing.

support? anyone that feels this way, maybe? (trigger warning: xenoph0bic views)
these days I've been getting quite insecure about being half filipina. this is because since it seems that apparently everyone (unfairly of course, nobody deserves this sick hate towards them) acts like filipinos are... butt-monkeys. just that. butt-monkeys. also, it feels like people do think that filipinos are hideos creatures with prides those of "brush every issue off and cause paris syndrome" narcissists. again, people bully filipinos and treat them like stupid monkeys with brains those of malformed tardigrades. it feels like that.. big group of people would have the same reaction towards a half-filipina mestiza like me. it makes me feel like an ugly creature which was created in a laboratory full of crazy outcasts who have an immensely big imagination. also.. as a Latin america-born girl, it sort-of feels like no matter how much knowledge i conjure or how much latina physical attributes i point out i have, I'll never be a true latina and instead I'll remain this... philippine creature worth of fake pity. because.. i simply can't be considered "pure" or "regular", like they call it. does anyone feel like this over their varied heritage, especially if half-pinoy? or.. am I just being weird?

Hinge Era: August-November 2022
8.3.22
Update Week 3 of H:
Pros:
The compliments and flirting are really dope- and the ULTIMATE mood/ego booster
i can totally see now why there are some people out there obsessed with that sensation of getting to know someone - bc it’s the mystery and thrill of something new and the possibilities of what a stranger is. someone who appears to admire you & feel something for you - a person who - at that moment - is a fantasy and could be anything. and they’re a figure where you can pin all your expectations onto. and there’s definitely a sense of pride knowing that another person sees YOU in that very same way. “this person doesn’t me” they only see what they want to see and what i’m putting out. that’s thrilling to me
and so i can definitely see where people are obsessed with that experience
it’s also quite nice to get these “firsts” out of the way - the liking, the messaging, the first few compliments and ice breakers. it’s nice to finally claim that I -judson - am finally getting to experience this at my own leisure. just as in the way everyone else gets to. maybe not 100% in the full way, but i’ll take it .
cons:
if it were not for the constant feelings of guilt and shame. and internalized phobia toward myself. that i’m doing all of this in secret. still hiding. that i’m not who or what i was proud to be a month ago when it came to dating and sex and relationships. sting if it were not for those feelings i think i’d be in a much better headspace.
and also just the stress of having to explain to someone else my circumstances, fearing their reaction, fearing what they could do to me if they got angry enough, and even just trying to plan out a “future” just getting to know them. all of this further re-emphasizes the idea that i’m hiding and that i’m not in complete control of my timeline or lifestyle. which definitely aggravates my soul haha
8.27.22
My dream.
Degrassi, Britney Spears, pop music careers.
everything that i’ve ever watched and enjoyed has shown me that — you have to keep progressing you have to be getting better. you MUST be bigger and better everytime.
but what if you just can’t?
and i think that’s the reason i feel so unsettled.
It’s not the idea of being stuck - it’s the idea of feeling like i’ve been stuck for so long. that has kept me down.
it’s not being unambiguous
it’s living with the sensation of being  filled.
8.29.22
+ REMEMBER THAT YOURE GOING TO BE A LAWYER ONE DAY AND/OR THE SICKEST RICHEST PARALEGAL
> Don’t get hung up on Hinge activity. It’s literally so fickle and whatever. REMEMBER THAT ITS FOR TWO THINGS WHILE YOURE IN THIS TRANSITION PHASE:
ENTERTAINMENT & BOOSTING
+ Britney’s voice notes aww
+ Love that i’ve had a slow day at work lately
perfect timing for apps and babyshower
+ Shoutoit to Michigan Law Dean, Halloween Horror night theme park podcasters, Black Tea Blog, Empressive, Comics Explained, Soy Nico,. and other channels for keeping me company
I’m a BARB NOWWW
Charles Brandon and David, wow. giving me everything. giving me the two sides of the coin that is me and i’m living for that. is it just a fun fantasy? yes. and i will deal with it ending when the time comes
speaking of ending, sorry james. it’s just now what it was 2 weeks ago lulz
H updates:
oddly enough, i think matching can be the easy part. i mean sure you get the occasional dessert and you kinda get underwhelmed and it’s like “DAM i just want attention” but once you DO have those couples ones - esp the ones where THEY end up initiating the convo. it’s so ncir haha  . and so yeah — i only count the ones i actually taaaalk to for a while.
so def counting:
1 Pinoy (G)
1 Chinese (JL)
1 Itim (CB)
others TBA
BUT have matched with desi and puti g.
i don’t think i’ve matched with a hispanic person, unless you count M   but .. eh Lol
there’s something comforting about matching with other AAPIs. there’s just a unspoken level of comfort
8.30.22
+ I HAVENT EVEN TALKED ABKUT GEE OH AND GYM AZN GUYZ LOL
really proud of myself for how much steam andd discipline and work i’m putting into my stuff. even tho i cant see a SET finish like - i’m motivated by much closer i am and the idea of celebrating a fun christmas and holiday season
8.31.22
i’m free, but i’m not. and i know it’s not personal, it just… i think the waste of it all was the fact that it was bc we weren’t in the same geographical location. that sucks
i’m only imitating freedom
like dam i really wanted to lose my V over em LOL.
+ Was bummed at first but feel a lot better after talking to Josh
+ Also loved coming home to my family and being with  caden and reading and playing earthquake with him. the simplest joys and most irreplaceable love comes from here and i’m blessed and so immeasurably spoiled to have it
