English is not my native language, so I'm sorry for bad writing in advance. 😅
I didn't really like the result of this... anyway, I like gregstophe, and I'm really inclined to Bottom!Greg, but I also enjoy seeing him top and in a loving relationship with Damien when Chris isn't on stage (and I have a guilty pleasure for Bottom!Damien).
I hope you like this little drama on the European team.

Slizers vs Throwbots: Regional differences
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Its well known that the Slizer line was changed quite a bit for its release in North America. The line was renamed Throwbots, the individual set names were all changed (Honestly this seems to be an okay change, as apart from Judge I quite like the new names, and this doesn't seem to be an uncommon opinion), and the setting was changed.
One very subtle change that I've had a hard time tracking down was the actual art for the sets. I managed to acquire copies of the instruction booklets for every set, Slizer and Throwbots, and have scanned them all, and they can be found HERE.
What follows is comparison between the Slizer and Throwbots instruction booklets.
8500-Fire Slizer/Torch
Tumblr media
The Slizer version features a humanoid fire being, but the Throwbots version removes the face entirely, though this being can still be found on the 6 pip disc art. In fact its the same illustration, just mirrored.
Tumblr media
8501-Ice Slizer/Ski
Tumblr media
The Slizer version features an ice outcropping with an evil looking face. The Throwbot version erases the face.
Though this creature doesn't appear in the discs, a similar concept of an avalanche with a face does, on the 6 pip disc.
Tumblr media
8502-City Slizer/Turbo
Tumblr media
This is the first one to not have any changes that I can see.
Every piece of Slizer art features the main set, and in the background one of the enemies the Slizer would face in its region. For City Slizer it seems to the be city itself, this large building featuring a monstrous face. For whatever reason this face was deemed not necessary to remove, perhaps because it was positioned mostly behind the logo.
The instructions use the cover background and the face can be seen more clearly there. Notably Flare Slizer uses the same background for its instruction book.
Tumblr media
Turbo's 6 pip disc doesn't feature a malevolent building, but instead a truck intent on running them over.
Tumblr media
8503-Sub Slizer/Scuba
Tumblr media
Again, this one was not altered, perhaps it was found that removing the evil eyes off the giant jellyfish was counterproductive. A modified version of this art (or is the cover version the modified version? Hard to know what came first) can be found on the 6 pip disc.
Tumblr media
This same creature also appears in the small comic on the poster I believe was included in some Slizer sets. Its delightful.
Tumblr media
8504-Judge Slizer/Jet
Tumblr media
Again, no change. Unlike the other's Judge doesn't feature this, or any creature on its 6 pip disc. This star monster is featured in the comic though, seeming to be the target for the disc launching game, of which Judge is the...judge of.
Tumblr media
8505-Jungle Slizer/Amazon
Tumblr media
Finally, there are more differences. The Slizer version features Jungle Slizer slicing this evil tree, complete with mouth, eyes, and hands, in half. The Throwbot version simply removes the eye light, the facial features are still there. The 6 pip disc features them fighting a different type of plant, something more modelled off a Venus Fly Trap. The 5 pip disc though does feature them chopping a seemingly not evil tree in half.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8506-Rock Slizer/Granite
Tumblr media
This is one of the more subtle ones, way in the background there's a rock formation that resembles a skull. In the Slizer version it features slightly glowing eyes, the eye glow is removed in the Throwbots version. The 6 pip disc art features Rock Slizer facing off against a similar stone face with glowing eyes.
Tumblr media
8507-Energy Slizer/Electro
Tumblr media
Finally we come to Energy. This one I think is one of the more odd ones, as the Slizer version features this evil cloud zapping Energy with arms made of lightning. The Throwbot version removes the red eyes, but everything else remains the same, the mouth, the lightning arms, the zapped Electro. This exact art appears on the 6 pip disc.
Tumblr media
To my knowledge there was only one set of discs, so despite the changes made to the packaging the Throwbots's discs featured all these creatures that the modified box art didn't want to show, its very odd.
And this is where the version differences end, for the instructions at least. After this, with the release of 8520, though they still changed the name, Millennium Slizer vs Millennia, they stayed with one instruction book for both, the back of the booklet even featuring both line's logos, and both names for each set (though you can see they are using the Slizer box arts).
Tumblr media
Then by wave two proper there was no more name divergence, and the logos and names were left off the instructions entirely.
Tumblr media
One has to wonder if the successor series, Roboriders, featuring the names of the characters printed right on their face pieces was an attempt to stop this whole naming issue coming up again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just wanted to have all this data in one place, I've spent a lot of time searching for the different versions and its quite hard to find good images, even leog's own site isn't consistent, featuring okay versions of all the Slizer's instructions, then this awful uncropped vertical scan of Electro.
Tumblr media
So now everything is at least in one place and in consistent quality.

Round 2 - Resurrect Bracket (Losers Bracket) Side B
Tumblr media
ashes to ashes, dust to dust; in sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to [make it to the finals]
Propaganda below ⬇️
Jason
Okay it's cannon but like in an alternative universe because Comics. I just think the fact DC made Known Murderer and Reblious Teen with Daddy Issues a Catholic priest in a different universe. Just. Casually.
Jason Todd is may or may not be Catholic in the main timeline of DC Comics, but I the Flashpoint storyline, my man is a priest! He was a drug addict, thief, and in the Blood Brother cult before dying, only to come back to life and decide to become a priest in the hellhole that is Gotham. In the main timeline, he comes back after dying and stuffs a duffel bags full of heads! The common trait before all Jason Todds is that they all have to be as dramatic as possible. Dying and coming back as the most unexpected thing. Unbelievable. I love this man.
Vector
Single dad who is a private, self-employed detective who loves banging it to some tunes and is trying to pay rent. Thats literally the Chaotix’s whole thing: they pick up cases to pay the rent. And he’s Catholic.
There’s a big note post somewhere on this website that jokes about this and I think it’s funny. This guy takes communion
I saw him in the high submissions list and I had no idea this is hilarious and I need to make sure he gets in
https://forgottensonicfacts.tumblr.com/post/697923206384926720/according-to-his-profile-in-knuckles-chaotix honestly, I don’t really know how to explain this in my own words. Toodle pip!
He is a single father of a bee child and a teenage chameleon at age 20. Who else has a popular tumblr post of them baptizing a chao with pepsi?
Vector is one of the characters ever: he has a gold chain, he never takes off his headphones, he leads a detective group, said detective group is a teenage ninja chameleon, a six-year-old, and occasionally an armadillo with herculean strength
I think (hc) vector is the only cishet character in all of the sonic universe which makes him being catholic that much funnier like. He goes to church wearing a “proud dad” t-shirt then he goes home to his 2 trans kids to tell them how much he supports them etc etc. Also one time someone posted how Vector would be the funniest character to be catholic only to find out in the notes that was basically canon so.

If you’re willing to share, what sorts of changes are you going to be making to Fedallah and the other Asian crew members? (I’m reading Moby Dick for class right now, and Melville’s racism blindspots are really interesting)
hello! this is an excellent question, and one which i’m constantly in the process of wondering how to address.
melville’s racism is rampant in moby dick. even as he tries to write consciously abt race & capitalism, he still perpetuates racist, orientalist, etc stereotypes and beliefs, with all his characters of color. queequeg hardly ever gets to speak for himself, and instead is spoken over by the white narrator. the three officers, all white men, get introduced with backstories and personalities and nuance, while the harpooners, all nonwhite, are introduced via reductive stereotypes and descriptions that center almost exclusively on their “exotic” bodies. the officers all get last words, final soliloquies, as they die, and the harpooners get no such respect. ahab & fedallah’s filipino crew are regularly described as demonic and referred to with pejorative anti-asian language. pip’s suffering as a Black character at the hands of a white supremacist is treated as some divine revelation, & pretty much exclusively is used to further the (ostensibly) white ahab’s anguish.
and fedallah himself — a textbook orientalist caricature of a ~spooky exotic persian man~, whose prophecies and ~satanic~ tendencies plague and doom the narrative.
(putting under a cut bc this got long)
i’ve tried to deal with much of melville’s racism through my comic by expanding on the gaps — like you said, the blind spots — that melville left. queequeg, tashtego, and daggoo all get to speak for themselves and to each other; they exist beyond their relationship to the white characters; i’ve tried my best to deliberately ensure the cast of the pequod is diverse and full of characters of color as whole & non caricatured & authentic as i can. this includes the filipino stowaways who we later discover are ahab & fedallah’s oarsmen.
i’ve mentioned this a bit in the past, but i’m trying to draw a line between moby dick’s watsonian or in-universe racism (stubb being a racist dickhead to, well, everyone, but especially pip & fedallah), vs it’s doylist or out-of-universe or authorial racism (melville calling queequeg a s*vage and referring to pip as “bright” in the way “blacks” are bright). so while i’ll keep the fact that stubb is a racist asshole, i’m not going to treat queequeg and pip the way melville did. characters in moby dick: or, the webcomic (henceforth MDOTW) are racist, but hopefully, if i’ve done my job right, the narrative itself is not.
i’m not going to get this right every time, but i’m hoping i’m doing an okay job.
fedallah specifically is...difficult. he is also deeply personal to me as a persian person & someone w zoroastrian roots in my family. the stereotypes to which melville reduces him are ones that i’ve directly dealt with in my life.
some things i can do to fix fedallah are simple: design choices such as getting rid of melville’s stupid matted hair thing & giving him a proper & period-accurate hair covering, etc. some are more difficult — the things that make fedallah a racist caricature (ie the mysticism and prophetic bullshit) are also the things that mark his role in the plot: his prophecies are important foreshadowing, and they do come true.
some of the things i have done to mitigate this:
-- the design choices i mentioned earlier . no more fucken weird visual orientalist caricature. he is a person and will look like one jfc
-- fedallah is not the only middle eastern character in MDOTW. i have made a very deliberate and conscious choice to cast ahab as nonwhite, particularly a middle eastern man. (i’ve waffled back & forth abt the specific ethnicity, but). i read an essay ages back called ‘the question of race in moby dick’ by fred v. bernard which made the case for reading ahab (and ishmael, tho that’s not the point of this post) as mixed Black, and since then i’ve had trouble reading ahab as white. i’ve talked a lot about how the take of ahab as just “privileged dude leading everyone to their doom” is sort of the most boring one for me; it’s certainly a valid reading of the text, but not particularly interesting. what’s more interesting to me is how the world in which ahab lives is legitimately an awful one — violent and colonialist and capitalist — and how ahab tries in his own deeply flawed ways to fight that world. in what ways is ahab’s rally against the white whale a rally against whiteness itself, and capitalism and colonialism and all these systems that have caused his trauma etc etc? but i digress — my point here is that i personally get even more from this narrative by casting ahab as nonwhite. i’ve made him swana as a persian person myself — i don’t feel equipped as a nonBlack person to tell this specific story about ahab if he were Black — but also because there are a lot of things about ahab where him being arab or persian makes a lot of sense. one of them being his relationship with fedallah, certainly, but also the way he describes religion, his relationship with fire (slash the worship of fire) etc etc lend to this. this also means, back to the original point, that fedallah no longer has to bear the burden of sole representative for this group of people. it allows the two of them to feed off each other. it also allows another dimension to their relationship — how does ahab know fedallah? why does ahab trust fedallah so much? well, the solidarity of being two persian or two swana people in this hellscape of USian whaling certainly is a compelling reason
-- and along those lines, making fedallah more of a person than just a vessel for spooky cryptic nonsense. sure, stubb and flask might not-so-jokingly speculate on how he’s the devil in disguise and keeps his tail tucked into his pants, and sure he might make a weird comment about how ahab can only die by rope on a ship full of hempen rigging, but what else is he? does he care for ahab? are they friends? what does he think about the white whale (bc we know what starbuck and ahab and stubb and etc etc think about it)? what is he gaining or losing from this? can i put him up as a foil against starbuck — the voice of reason, begging ahab to turn back — vs him seemingly egging ahab on? almost baiting him to continue? who is fedallah beyond his prophecies? does he believe his own prophecies? is there a way i can depart from those prophecies even further, and not have to rely on them so much to push the narrative forward?
tl;dr to answer your question, what am i changing about fedallah? oh god. hopefully lots of things. hopefully enough.

Brotherband Championship Results: Round Three
Match 1: Stig vs. STEFAN
Match 2: Jesper vs. HAL
Match 3: EDVIN vs. Ulf
Match 4: INGVAR vs. Kloof
Biggest sweep: Edvin, unsurprisingly, against Ulf. Congratulations, however, to one-half of a comic relief side duo for making it this far.
Narrowest victory: Stefan pipped Stig to the post on a fingernail margin of 5.1%
Hardest-fought battle: there was, alas, very little propaganda at all this round. I expect great things from the semi-finals, friends!
Characters proceeding to the semi-final: Stefan, Hal, Edvin and Ingvar
Congratulations and consolation to Stig, Jesper, Ulf and Kloof.
The minor characters' bracket will go up once this championship is completed. In the next few days I'll set up a poll to pick the eighth returner.

I just chugged half a bottle of cola and I'm feeling SO PUMPED RN RAHHSHDHAHAHAAAA- also, I was originally planning on adding a small article about Void's planned comic but I feel like that'd add a bit of pressure, so consider this snippet here a special mention! I love your work Void, but I love you more. If plans change, that's totally okay!
•Server's "Counting if bored" channel is currently at 266!
Server addition count! (13th of November- 19th of November): 15 new characters to the server!
This includes,
•quentins thirst will never be satisfied
•Bob sparks
•Lonan, Pip's father!
•...."my brother"??? I don't have a brother? What are you on about Pinface- this isn't canon!
Guys just letting you know I am NOT registering THE IMPOSTER as an actual character! That guy like.. bullied me for hours yesterday! No one seemed to get my sos signal<//3 BUT THATS OKAY I FORGIVE YOU ALL!!

Dusk and Titch are friends!?
It was Jack the jester's birthday yesterday! Brother of invidia and son of Lord Zapza, we wish him a very happy birthday. Now, as my associate mentioned in a previous post: Dusk and Titch have been at eachothers throats since the BEGINNING- thankfully, due to the word of DUSK X JACK getting out, Titch and Dusk had a one on one talk in which they've been honest and caring towards eachother!? SHOCKING: TITCH SAYS SOMETHING NICE AND GENUINE.
Dusk: "Thank you.. so.. what exactly is your problem with me?.. there has to be something I can do to not anger you so much!"
Titch: "It's just....it feels like you get special treatment...like everyone treats you like a helpless baby that can do no wrong....I know that it's not true but.....this....upset me so much"

The Ethan vs Spirit phone debate
It was heavily argued wether Ethan or the spirit phone gang would win in a fight- setting the scene: its a boxing ring. No weapons, no hand to hand combat. Even if Pickles is a murderous spirit, Ethan has memorised banishing spells so that's all 3 ghosts out the picture immediately. Arabella is out of the picture too- it'd be a pretty miserable fight, Arabella vs Ethan.
Ethan vs Kolby: if Ethan had prep time beforehand and a weapon he would win but I'm pretty sure in terms of hand-to-hand in a boxing ring Kolby takes the crown, Void declared it a draw.
Ethan vs Pip? Imagine this: feisty crows in a trenchant vs mortal boy. Its a pretty even matmating you ask me- the winner was never declared and personally even I can't decide!
Now, if you have a a differing a opinion, lmk! You can even tell me anonymously if it's that good.. >:) we support fighting and drama here

for anyone wondering, Dani is still in the process of being saved. Uh.... at the time I'm writing this I'm actually kinda in danger but yknow- whatever. To save Dani!

what's your favorite era (appearance, characterization, etc.) of adam warlock? you're like the #1 fan of adam warlock 😍👌
Tumblr media
This is no joke anon I'm incapable of being normal about Him.
My favorite comic Ever of All Time is the classic 70's Warlock by Jim Starlin!!! What is there to say about it even it's simply THE quintessential Adam Warlock story and I think everyone should read it :^) it has it all... unavoidable tragedy, evil alter ego, martyrdom, blatant anti-christian allegory, catholic guilt, suicide, existentialism, nihilism, funky visuals that make it obvious it's the 70's and everyone's on drugs, the wizard of oz, clowns, shark in space, Adam/Soul Gem OTP, first appearance of The Magus, Adam's first time meeting Pip/Gamora/Thanos, Thanos killing Adam, Adam killing Thanos, Adam and Thanos kissing in a tree (ok I made this last one up) etc.
Also Adam's perfectly coiffed hair + sideboob/bootyshorts look goes hard as hell I refuse to hear otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My other fave looks <3 Counter-Earth + Infinity Gauntlet/Infinity Watch/Infinity Crusade
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like Roy Thomas/Mike Friedrich's baby Warlock, he's cute, but Jim Starlin's Adam is the most specialest boy in the whole universe I LOOOOVE HIM with my whole heart and everything Starlin has written with Adam and/or Thanos is near and dear to me.
I think there's at least something to like about every "era", I love the Magus, I love the Goddess, Adam's big queer gender self-discovery adventure is definitely a highlight, I LOVE the Infinity Watch... I am admittedly a bit of a Jim Starlin purist though, Adam (and Thanos) written by other people always just feels a bit off and ranges from ''bad'' to ''pretty good'' but I'm fond of Annihilation/GOTG Adam by DnA too.
Definitely though my BIG FAVE era besides Warlock is the combined last two trilogies by Starlin, Thanos Annual + Infinity Revelation/Relativity/Finale & Infinity Siblings/Conflict/Ending + Infinity Entity + Thanos vs Hulk + GOTG: Mother Entropy. I know that's a lot but it counts as one in my head lol.
Best comics ever actually, I was already obsessed with Adam and Thanos beforehand but these really irreversibly rewired my brain so there's no hope for me anymore. For context you must understand that by the time these books started rolling out Starlin hadn't written for Marvel in a decade with no sign of returning so I lost my fucking shit when they were announced lmao. I had already accepted that we wouldn't get any proper sendoff/conclusion to Thanos and Adam's character arcs after some 40 years of slowburn because that's just the nature of comics but!! WE DID!!! Starlin came back and gave them an actual ending, he tied up his version of these characters with a nice little bow, while it's obviously still left open for other writers it frankly doesn't really matter to me what anyone else does with them going forward because I'm satisfied with the story that's already (almost) entirely contained within Starlin's work. Not that I won't still complain if they're terribly ooc but that's not My Canon, you know.
Like. I would sit here with my tinfoil hat on and conspiracy theory board out connecting the dots and yelling about the growth between Adam and Thanos and the overarching themes/motifs... Just endlessly speculating on how this tentative friendship of theirs would even work since we hadn't actually gotten to see it in action since they Officially became Friends™ in the very last issue Starlin wrote before leaving Marvel for 10 years and no other writer wanted to touch them. Big thoughts about how it's all REALLY about loneliness and love and TRUST and redemption, how Thanos is desperately in love with completely obsessed with Adam, how Adam in many ways mirrors Mistress Death, how perpetually aloof Thanos learns to genuinely and wholeheartedly trust in Adam and how opening himself up to the living (Adam/Eros/Gamora/Pip) gives his life true meaning, how Adam and Thanos literally cannot exist without each other or they'll self destruct... THEN my guy my dude my very bestest pal Jimbo strolled in and casually validated all my inside brain thoughts by further expanding on the pre-established themes and making all that more explicitly canon and I just had to grin and bear it and pretend I'm normal. like???? HELLO????? IT FEELS SOOOOO GOOD TO BE RIGHT ABOUT LITERALLY EVERYTHING
The juxtaposition between these books and his older work (Warlock in particular) is actually so satisfying to me too. The numerous callbacks, echoes of past storylines, the role reversals... I know some people hate how repetitive Starlin's storylines can be but I love the consistency, this infinite loop of death/rebirth that Adam and Thanos are stuck in narratively really highlights how they change (or don't change) over time, it works perfectly for them both in text and metatextually. The becoming God and blowing up the universe for the 50th time doesn't matter it's about the friend(s) we made along the way.
Anyway. I've actually grown to really like Adam's outfit in these books too, it's very old school but I'm into that... a glorious return to pointy shoulders <3 (he matches with Thanos hehehehe)

Silver-Tongued Devil
Tumblr media
Doctor Strange III #32
Mixed bag.
DS vs. Silver Dagger.
Pretty darn cool to have a comic that opens with Doctor Doom, Adam Warlock, the Silver Surfer and Doctor Strange standing around chatting in the midst of a crisis. Chatting... and drinking wine. It gets even better when Rintrah and Pip the Troll head out on a side-adventure. They are fun together, and it’s shaping up to be a good comic. However, Doctor Strange reappears and, in the end, it’s just a generic battle between him and the villain. Dense with the sort of detail that only matters to Roy Thomas. That said, the art is beautiful and it’s a fun read.

Pip pip cheerio good chap, are you familiar with the Lantern Corps’ from comic books? If so what Corps would your characters be in vs. what Corps would the want to be in?
Howdy! I, unfortunately, do not know anything about Lantern Corps! I looked it up and there seems to be just enough lore that I wouldn't feel confident guessing, either 😅 let's talk superheroes anyway!
Siruud
Good guy turned bad, with hope of redemption. In a bad superhero show, he's a one off episode character that teaches the boring lead an important lesson about what they could become. In a good one, he's a season arc and reoccurring character who's never really good again but he's on the side of good so like...okay.
Tahira
The extremely practical heroine; principles are nice and all, but no moral code is iron clad. She's at the very least a source of comedic relief because after a long speech about ethics she shows up with the villain already caught and handled because she didn't need to monologue about her job before she did it.
Valerian
Supervillian, but a fan favourite. He starts flame wars because some people are defending him because his actions don't not serve a greater good and so what if a few buildings fall in the process? But on the other hand cool motive but—
Abeni
Magical girl. Western Superhero canon can't handle her, because she's about to do good, have an ethical crisis about it, and look like a four hundred dollar cupcake while she does it. Fans will wildly misinterpret her motives, oscillating wildly between her conflict with institutional crime and punishment and her undermining of authority to serve a greater good.
Gnarl
The anime villain that Abeni is fighting. Redeemed at the end of a long arc that is held up by fans as one of the best runs the series ever had.
Tumblr media
Trigger
Washed up superhero that mentors a bright young punk, who slowly manages to chip away his cynicsm and make him believe in heroes again...after he makes them run errands for him. Fandom is split between people who see him strictly as a mentor figure and find it weird that people want to bone him, and people who want to bone him.
Mantis
The most effective supervillain you've ever met in your life, the opposite side to Tahira's coin. No, she will not tell you her evil plan, no you will not be lecturing her on inherent goodness. She had a twelve step plan and she is going to execute it and possibly you. She shot him in ze legs because his shield is ze size of a dinner plate and he'z an idiot.
Crave
Good old fashion, home grown superhero. By day he's a nice boy who helps people out and builds his communities, by night he punches guys dressed up as clowns and weird stuff like that. Most likely to win with the power of friendship, half shojo main character and half Clark Kent. Undergoes a harsh round of corporate woobification, but his original comics run is dark as hell.

12. Do you have an OC?
I tend to be so focused on the core canon cast that I don't really do too much with OCs! But I did tinker with a hamster mutant for IDW!verse one time :D

She was sort of envisaged as a shady antiques/black market dealer, more of a grey villain working with, and sometimes against the turtles.
I've also made a few rebel characters for my various SAINW!verse projects - probably Beckett is the most frequently used! She features in my Matricide comic and a few RPs.
1. What's your favorite iteration/version?
Ahaha you totally know this already xD
2k3 owns my heart and soul, for many, many reasons. For me, it has:
- the best balance of dark tone vs ridiculous mutant shenanigans
- plenty of action, angst and peril to satisfy my thirst for suffering :D
- lots of long, meaty plot arcs that flow consistently and are followed up and have consequences
- my favourite versions and voice actors for most canon characters cross-iteration, with the possible exception of Casey; he's ever so slightly pipped at the post by Elias Koteas in the 90s movies :'3
Season 1-4 are amazing, 5 less so, 6 and 7 sorta fun but very aesthetically and tonally different to the point of being jarring. Whenever I need cheering up, 2k3 is what I watch. The intro is like a warm hug.

18. THE THANOS IMPERATIVE
It can be convenient at least know the context and a summary of War of Kings event, and, specially, it’s continuation Realm of Kings, because first Thanos’ appearance in The Thanos Imperative takes place as result of this second event. Plus, it is the reason why he is in the next Guardians of the Galaxy chapters.

———  ————    ————
At the end of The Thanos Imperative, it’s clear that no one knew what to do with Thanos, but he had to start becoming an important character in the comics because he was going to be the main villain the in movies. So they decided to reboot the character in a more dark tone, changing basic features of original Thanos, for a more modern view. In particular, they made official the idea of Thanos never getting over his obsession with Death; indeed, she is manipulating him since birth. This was because most of the public never followed the main canon properly, so Thanos was more known because of his sporadic appearances during 20 years as a standard basic villain, his obsession with Death never forgotten (and being she the responsible of that obsession and his acts), as if the development after Infinity Gauntlet never took place.
Thanos and Gamora relationship is going to change too, gradually, and Nebula will become Thanos’ daughter too, both cases adapting the movies canon. Plus, in this new canon, Adam Warlock and Pip aren’t included as Thanos’ related characters.
19. THANOS RISING
Thanos Rising #1
Thanos Rising #2
Thanos Rising #3
Thanos Rising #4
Thanos Rising #5
Based on the reboot, Jonathan Hickman put Thanos as one of the villains of this series Avengers, New Avengers and Avengers World, that taked place at the same time during some years with a unique plot (ok, Avengers World started later in his run). The first turning point of this run was the event Infinity, in which not only Thanos is introduced, but it’s also the most influential work for everything related to his lore at this moment. If you are interested only in Thanos part, you can read his plot understanding the main ideas, and ignore the rest of the event. Problem is that, after Infinity, the series continued to a shared ending in the next event, Secret Wars, and Thanos appears sporadically to the end. My recommendation, if you don’t want to read the three series from the very beginning, is to search for a detailed summary to know what’s happening at any moment. Otherwise, even if his part in Infinity can be understand, the rest to Secret Wars is nearly impossible.

24. The New Infinity Trilogy
Actually, only the first part, The Infinity Revelation, was published at this moment. The rest of the graphic novels and the mini-series were released during the next years. But as this is the end of Starlin canon for Thanos, and has nothin to do with the official Marvel canon, I prefer to put all of it here for a simple reading.

32. The Last Infinity Trilogy
Before the second Thanos’s regular series was approved, Starlin signed an agreement to make a new graphic novels trilogy about Thanos because Marvel wanted new material about him for IW release. At this moment Starlin can’t draw because an accident, so he works with Alan Davies. Shorly after the first part was published, the plot of the second part of the regular series was known, and Starlin was furious with Marvel because, according to him, they are copying his story. However, he accepts to end the trilogy because Davies involvement. Again, this story has nothing to do with current Thanos in Marvel canon.
