DPxDCxMLB Prompt:

“The Wizard was a Ghost King”

Now I love Danny Phantom, even though I haven’t had the pleasure to watch even a 1/4 of the show. But I love crossovers, and DPxDCxMLB is one of my favorites honestly, but there isn’t a lot.

This is more about lore stuff and is my personal brain worm of figuring out how to fill in a plot hole in Miraculous via crossovers.

So in Miraculous apparently a Wizard somehow learned about the Kwami. Now how could an alive mortal know of these beings? Now we could say they used magic, but let's go a more fun route!

This “Wizard” was actually a Ghost King, because from what I’ve gathered there have been multiple unless I’ve been lied to through headcanons. (I promise I’m getting to doing proper research on Danny Phantom, kinda got a list) Also, I don't recall most of what was actually said about this “Wizard” in the cannon.

This Ghost King could have been one of the kind or kinder ones, or just another selfish ghost craving for more power.

The “Kinder” Ghost King was friends with the Kwami hearing his friends complain or weep over not being able to truly interact with the creatures in one realm or another. Only tipping a few scales here or there, leading them somewhere else, among other things(Like Plagg committing genocide on the Dinasours or however cannon went…). The Kwami could only do so much in their current state, as they didn't have ties to the physical level/plane. So the Ghost King gave them options, for them to be tied to an object that could be handled by the creatures of the realms.

(Maybe they were acquaintances, or the Kwami came to the Ghost King for help to be on the physical plane of these other Realms? There are so many ways this can go)

The Kwami got to choose the realm(or Universe if you want to refer to it as that) that they could reside in.

It may even be the duty of the Ghost King to tie new Kwami to items and send them to their Realm, or to enact it when a Kwami would wish to join the world that their brethren now are in.

Now if you want to go the Selfish-Power-Hungry route, the “Selfish” Ghost King saw the potential in the Kwami and wanted to use it for himself. So to abuse their power the Kwami were tied to their objects, the “Selfish” Ghost King would be overthrown(the Ancients might have played a part if I'm remember who those are correctly), and the Miraculi would somehow end up their eventual Realm/Universe.

Or another one I came up with, the Ghost King of that time was a wizard in their part life! Or it could have just been a super powerful ghost, but the GK route is funner…

So imagine Kwami haven’t gone to a Ghost King in so long cause they’re wary, but these newer or older ones (older ones probably just didn’t want to join the physical plane) have heard of Danny even before he was crowned or was to be crowned. So they take a chance to ask for him to tie them to the physical plane of the realm their fellow Kwami reside in.

So chaos ensues on Earth as magic users, Guardians, and Amazonians alike feel the arrival of the new Miraculi for the first time in hundreds of years.

Redesign of Adrien and Chat Noir for the deed, Miraculous Heroes.

I changed Adrian's outfit because it was, honestly, generic. He now follows a more formal style that fits both his father's personality and his career as a model. If you look closely, the collar of the jacket has the symbol of an "A", being the brand of the clothing line Agreste.

This Adrian is more reserved and quiet at the beginning of the rewrite, he didn't know how to interact with other teenagers his age, much less how to act like one. His style would change throughout the story with the positive influence of his friends, encouraging him to choose his own style. As much as he hates being a model, he loves his father too much to ask him to stop, and he also always has an interest in free styles and different from his father's.

He is never the one who chooses what he wears, always being just Gabriel or Natalie, Chloe and Felix are the only people his age he spends time with, and for that, he prefers to keep to himself, not knowing how to act since Chloe acts as if she were superior and Felix is too closed to interact with other people.

He would not be able to attend the first day of school, but he would be present during the first appearance of an akumatized who he would try to help some people close to him, disobeying Natalie's orders and attracting the interest of Plagg who would immediately spot him and choose him as his holder.

As Chat Noir, I gave him a hood with cat ears, long, full sleeves, a vest with a green line and two holes in the sides, and a long belt that serves as a tail. Underneath the vest is a dark green skintight outfit with green triangles on the shoulders and green flourishing claw marks on the corner of the waist. His baggy pants go down to his cat paw-shaped boots (which contain green lines) the pants contain a similar division as the sleeves that go from black to dark green with details of green rays.

Chat Noir still has cataclysm, but he also has night vision, great hearing, agility, balance, and an ability called seven lives. Nine lives is one of his weaknesses, he cannot be seriously injured, that's because, even if the heroes receive a certain amount of resistance when they transform, they can still feel the pain of battles and even hurt themselves. And, while Ladybug has a lucky effect, Chat Noir has an unlucky effect, that is to say that he has much more chance of getting hurt or getting something wrong.

And Isis includes him being easily injured during battles. Therefore, the nine lives serves as a way to give him resistance, and just as Ladybug can give some of her luck to others, she can give some of her extra lives to others as well. And no, he doesn't die if he runs out of nine lives, he just becomes unconscious and he destransforms.

So that would be his version of the countdown for him to untransform (all heroes would have after a long time using their powers). He still has his staff, and the baton would serve as a communicator and shapeshifter like in canon, but he uses the staff to perform various tricks with it during battles.

Another thing I forgot to mention, the bells on his wrists are retractable, he can pull the bells off and throw them at enemies like smoke bomb grenades, but the bells are not destroyed, The smoke comes out of the little bell holes and it's kind of black smoke, it's more used as a form of distraction.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this redesign of Adrian and Chat Noir! Next one I'm between Gabriel and Alya, maybe I'll take a poll.

Okay, I watched it-

I get why people are upset, completely. I 100 percent agree. Were there good points? Yes, but there were definitely way more bad points to the ep. I really hope season 6 fix’s some holes that this left.

I will however make myself feel better with the thought that when marinette put the amok ring on Adriens finger, that was just her proposing and now they’re married despite being so young and I will die on this hill. It’s the only real happiness it can bring out of the whole thing

i mean for me the happiness in marinette giving adrien his ring and trying to ensure he wears it is her trying to make sure adrien maintains control of his freedom. that’s a great thing.

honestly the questions that are supposed to carry through to the next season don’t bother me so much as the way it played out. like i said before we waited five seasons for this confrontation and chat noir just… isn’t there? adrien doesn’t get some hand in taking down this man who has hurt him so much? instead so much screen time was given to the specials characters (to show the scope of gabriel’s plan? to give a cinematic look at all these heroes working together? ladybug and paris isn’t alone (but adrien in his weird box without even plagg is the very definition of it).

adrien being the princess in the tower is a major motif in this show. i love it, i respect it. i also hate it.

people can say “just wait until next season, you don’t have all the facts, the show isn’t complete” all they like but that doesn’t mean that we can’t be disappointed/unsatisfied about something. obviously the show is continuing but when you are told that a major arc is coming to an end you expect some of the major through lines to have a conclusion or at least to bring together the core part of the show to witness it.

i know the nature of the wish, the fact that gabriel “won”, means that the fabric of their reality is altered even if we don’t know how. that gabriel being considered a hero is temporary, that the weird sparkly hollow perfection is the point, that marinette not telling adrien about his father is the brewing conflict, as well as lila and whatever cosmic horror terrified her at the end. that doesn’t mean that in a show called the adventures of ladybug and chat noir, where they’ve spent five seasons building up towards defeating hawkmoth, a final battle that doesn’t include the other half of that equation is unsatisfying.

do we know if gabriel is gone for good? no not really. but him being dead in the text as we have it now and adrien not being able to confront the reality that not only was his father horrifically abusive to him in his daily life but that he has actively been trying to kill him as a superhero months (?) feels so empty as viewers who have been watching this story unfold over years. gabriel saw that ladybug was marinette- i would have killed to see him realize adrien was chat noir. do i think it would have changed his actions? no. would it have hit something we as an audience have been waiting for for years? hell yes.

as i said before it may very well be that the finale ages better through the lens of s6. but in this moment where it’s been built up as “the end of an era” and the closing of a major chapter- some of the decisions that were made just make me feel… empty.

How about Feline club kwami swap? I mean, for some reason they had to swap their miraculous. And by the way, I love the feline club idea, It will be an au like Rabbit Hole?

Lila and Alix would not do that great with Prowl. Lila would have an issue with being invisible and that would hinder her, she'd be kinda pissed that she only has one power. Alix would do better than Lila, she still might have some issues with self-control.

Ivan would struggle with Brilliance but would be happy to have a Cure. Alix would have some better control of Brilliance, as it's better to perceive than Cataclysm and her precision is pretty good so she'd do better with staying further away from the fight and doing stuff from there. She probably wouldn't like it tho

Lila wouldn't do bad with Cataclysm but would prefer Brilliance since it's more attention-catching. Ivan would also do better with Cataclysm, Brilliance is just more scary to him.

As for the kwamis, Lila would find Roaar and Plagg a bit annoying. She'd get along with Roaar quicker than with Plagg.

Alix wouldn't mind Luxx but she'd think that he's a bit bland. She'd really like his nonchalantness with the miraculous stuff and how much he tells her (she'd be kinda concerned/suspicious at first tho). Roaar would love Alix, thought Alix would find her a little annoying, and thinks that she could tone it down a bit or be less,,, childish.

Ivan and Luxx? Great, absolutely chill, Luxx would encourage Ivan to be more free and stand up for himself. Plagg would keep his distance at first (just like with all of his holders) but would warm up pretty quickly, maybe he'd think that Ivan is a bit boring and could spice his life up a little.

No, it was just an art request and ask. I wouldn't have thought of this thing if no one asked.

so what was the s1 hiatus era like?

Beautiful chaos?

Like.

We had only Season 1, which was still flawed but had a hell of a lot of promise. We only had so much info. So everyone made things up in terms of both lore and future stories!

Things I remember:

Everyone clocked the Alya = Fox and Chloé = Bee thing. Most people had Nino as the Turtle, but some said he'd get the Peacock somehow based on the clothing theme. If people made him the Turtle, then the Peacock user was up in the air(we saw the Peacock in Gabriel's safe in Volpina, the 'last' episode of Season 1 other than Origins. Though no one knew if it was real or just similar because Plagg didn't react to seeing it at all. Which.... is now a plot hole).

Nathaniel was a bit more prominent in the shipping scene. If you were into mlm you had Adrinath(because fandom prefers mlm white prettyboys so since Luka didn't exist yet Nath was the option). And if you were straight then you had Chlonath.

Speaking of, Luka and Kagami didn't exist yet.

Though it was obvious, we didn't know for sure that Gabriel was Hawkmoth. This led to a few different tropes. Sometimes fics would have an entirely different person be Hawkmoth(sometimes random OC, though Alim Kubdel was a popular choice for 'if it's not Gabe'). I saw a few where that whole 'Peacock in the safe' thing led to Gabriel having been a Hero with it before, and with the Hawkmoth thing he breaks it out to try and help keep the new Heroes safe

There was some speculation on Gabriel and Emilie being Heroes before Canon in general because how did they get the Miraculous and what did they do with them?

We didn't have exact powers for the other Miraculous. We /kinda/ guessed that Volpina was correct and the Fox has Illusions, and the Turtle being a shield made sense. But no one knew what to do with the Bee or Peacock. Also no Hero names existed yet so you'll have variations of those.

The Zodiac Miraculous didn't exist. People creating new Miraculous either yoinked whatever animal(s) they like, or used the old concept art.

Up until the Christmas Special, we had no context for how long Emilie had been 'missing'(a plot in the special is that it's Adrien's first Christmas without his mother). So most people had assumed she'd been missing for a while, not just less than a year.

We also had no idea what happened to her! Did she die? Is she legit missing? What's going on?! (tbh we also didn't know her name. If you read my fics from that era I called her 'Felicia'.)

Speaking of mothers, Chloé's mom was unknown! Some wrote her as dead. I accidentally predicted the 'she had an affair that resulted in a half-sister and abandoned Chloé' bit lmao! Though I didn't predict her being as /actively/ awful as Canon.

Lila was in a weird kind of limbo? Technically the end of Volpina implied she'd come back, but most people kinda forgot about her. People who did write her tended to have it that the events of the episode revealed her lies so the class knew her shit was fake. This resulted in either her being the 'opposite Chloé' where she likes Mari but hates LB, or she dropped the nice act all together and started bullying Marinette either with or instead of Chloé(depending on the writer's ideas of Chloé!Redemption)

Fu's ability as a mentor and overall backstory was up in the air. We knew he was hands-off at first, but we assumed he'd be more directly helpful in Season 2. We know he 'made some disasterous mistake', but we didn't know what it was. A lot of people speculated that he had his own team of Heroes that went sideways.

On that note, the Order of the Guardians wasn't known. We had Fu, but no knoweledge of them or other Miracle Boxes

Balance of power

Normally when I create an au, I avoid changing many things, but the scale of powers is something relevant to level up, because theoretically speaking Tikki and Plagg would be the strongest, but only Duusu wins from both alone.

That's why I'm here making a list of "Kwami - concept - powers - weapon - detailing", maybe I'll change some in the future, but it's pretty much fixed.

* Note: all of miraculous's powers can be used by wielders without the transformation, but in a weaker and not very apparent way (such as the lucky charm and the ladybug pattern).

** Note: This is a topic for another post, but the kwamis have transformations and can merge with each other, in addition to the powers merge.

Her weapon is still a yo-yo.

The lucky charm remains the same, but now has 2 powers in addition to purification and healing: Genesis, which allows the user to choose an object to create, just like the goat's previous power. And the third is Terraforme, which allows the terrain to be altered only by creating and not destroying.

*Note: Purification of Akumas has been split with the cat's, but it only works on destructive Akumas; and Repair of Luck (Miraculous Ladybug) only works on things destroyed by the Akumatized.

Bee Miraculous 🐝

Yang Alignment

Plagg - Kwami of destruction

Your weapon is now a giant hammer.

In addition to Cataclysm, I've added 2 powers: Black Hole, a point that can be fixed somewhere and attract everything to a single point, or launched, going in a single direction destroying everything in its path, until the bearer deactivates it. And the third is the Feral, which basically increases physical characteristics such as speed, sight and strength, as well as creating claws that cut anything, but only for a short time.

*Note: Purification only works on creator Akumas; and the Chaos Destroyer (miraculous ladybug) only works on things created by the Akumatized.

Fox Miraculous🦊

Wood Base

Pollen - Kwami of submission

His weapon is a spear.

Toxin allows the user to manipulate a toxin with varying effects of the user's choosing, but direct contact is required to have any effect. Honey comb releases a calming aroma, not in the sense of emotion, but in the sense of reaction, slowing the inhaler down.

Turtle Mirauculous🐢

Fire Base

Trixx - Kwami of illusion

His weapon is a bow.

Make believe is basically mirage, but with the difference that it can't be applied to the user, apart from illusions becoming "real" if someone believes it to be real. Trick is only applied to the user and is basically shape-shifting.

Butterfly Miraculous 🦋

Water Base

Wayzz - Kwami of protection

His weapon is an umbrella.

Aura allows you to create matter that is practically impermeable (only for cataclysms), very malleable, basically being able to create anything inanimate. Resistance I put Stompp's power because I think it makes more sense with Wayzz and his concept.

Peacock Miraculous🦚

Earth Base

Nooroo - Kwami of emotion

His weapon is a dagger.

Akuma Alignment is the division of the akuma and, in a way, choice of powers, since he can put Yin, Yang and both energies together, i.e.: Yin akumas only give powers that create and can only be purified by the miraculous cat, while Yang gives destructive powers and only the miraculous ladybug purifies. Emotion locator is basically echolocation based on people's emotions, and can be used for Akumas and in combat with various enemies.

Mouse Miraculous 🐀

Metal Base

Duusu - Imitation Kwami

His weapon is basically a malleable feather cape.

Sign is the power that forces the target within your field of vision to imitate your movements, where it would only be canceled with the loss of visual contact or external interference. Mimer allows you to copy any skill that you know how it works, from fictional to real.

Your weapon is a giant needle

Scale is the change in size, it can be just for him, objects or both.

His weapon is a pair of English punches.

Living creates a hallucination where it can be a person's biggest dream or biggest nightmare, which will stay in their mind constantly reminding them, which is pretty much what the nightomentor does.

Orikko - Kwami of foresight

His weapon is a laminated tonfa.

Alertness is briefly a vision of the future, but only limited to one target.

Ox Miraculous🐂

Yin Alignment & Water Base

Ziggy - Kwami of the opposition

Your weapon is a flute.

Breaker any effect, on itself or on allies, whichever the user chooses, will have the opposite effect to the default, before or after receiving the effect, so a slow effect would be agility and vice versa.

Dog Miraculous🐕

Yang Alignment & Fire Base

Stompp - Kwami of fitness

His weapon is a whip.

The Boost increases the user's or ally's physical attributes to the extreme, but is limited to just one thing, such as strength or speed.

Horse Miraculous 🐎

Yin Alignment & Wood Base

Barkk - Kwami of order

His weapon is a staff.

Order allows the user to create a rule that forces the target to follow, from blocking a skill to forcing a switch of senses. However, it can only be used with non-magical orders, so asking something that has turned to ash to return to its original state wouldn't be possible, just as it couldn't make anything indestructible.

Snake Miraculous 🐍

Yang Alignment & Wood Base

Kalkki - Kwami of migration

His weapon is a rapier.

Instant is the travel upgrade, allowing instant teleportation and use up to 3 times.

Dragon Miraculous 🐉

Yin Alignment & Water Base

Sass - Kwami of intuition

Your weapon is still a lyre.

The second chance is also the same.

Rabbit Miraculous 🐇

Yang Alignment & Earth Base

Longg - Kwami of the dimension

Your weapon is a fan.

Rupture allows the user to enter a dimension that varies from bearer to bearer, where they can enter and manage timelines, where time does not pass, and can only be managed from their year of birth to their year of death. It is not possible to manage other places, only the place where you activated your power, aka city/state.

Fluffy - Kwami of multiplication

His weapon is a pair of boxing gloves.

Divisor is multiplication, but does not change size.

His weapon is a sound gun.

Sound Breaker creates a wave that the user controls the frequency of and which affects electronics and motor functions, basically swapping senses, and depending on the frequency can break anything.

Yin Alignment & Wood Base

Xuppu - Kwami of evolution

His weapon is a ruyi jingu bang.

Upgrading allows you to improve weapons, objects and powers, but it's a double-edged sword, because in addition to choosing 1 upgrade, 1 downgrade is required.

Isekai'd as Chloe

You were watching Miraculous Ladybug on your phone as your bus got hit by a truck. You died, it sucks. But a godly being gives you the chance to start anew in a brand new world. Sadly it's Miraculous, with all the plotholes, and flat characters, and don't forget worshipped while being a sexual abuser Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir. Could your day get any worse? You shouldn't have asked because you were reborn as Chloe and forgot who Papillion was. Someone wanted to see you suffer, that was sure! But you wouldn't give them the satisfaction. It was time to throw canon out of the window and make Miraculous a better show or in your case world!

Main Pairing: Reader/Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng

Chapter 10: All cards on the table

“Are you sure you want to progress like that, [Y/N]?”, asked you Master Fu.

It was early morning, even before school, as you sat with the guardian of the Miraculous in his little massage parlor and were discussing what you should do next.

Plagg was taking a nap on your shoulder and Wazyy was drinking like you humans tea.

“After Adrien is now totally out of the picture, the only way to get the Miraculous Spellbook is to: a) Steal it, but we could get the Colletor as Akuma or b) wait till Lila comes into the picture because I know that’s the day Mr. Agreste takes out the book from his safe and I can just say I saw him doing it and as a wearer of the Miraculous it’s my right to have the book or a copy of it.”, you listen again.

“And option B will mostly prevent an Akuma?”, wonders Wazyy.

“Yeah, I think so. Mr. Agreste wants just to keep the original book I don’t think if one of the superheroes of Paris asks him for a copy he will be upset enough…and if he will, then we have a candidate for being Papillion.”, you remind.

Master Fu sipped thoughtfully his tea.

“An Akuma at our hands or a step closer to finding out who Papillion is…Both options are risky in their own way.”

“That’s way we need to have Marinette now on board.”, you insist. “She needs to know about you Master so you can teach us both in the way of the guardians. Also, I think it’s best she knows my full story, I’m sick of it of being hated by her as Chloe. If our partnership has to work no secrets. Secrets screwed over the canon partnership of the ladybug and the cat, we can’t take this risk.”

Wazyy hummed in agreement, while Master Fu locked like he bit into a lemon. You bet anything in him, his guardian training was screaming no at this plan, but he couldn’t fight the logic.

You already knew Marinette’s identity.

It was only fair she knows yours and learns the truth about yourself. It will make you a stronger team.

Then you two with Master Fu would decide who to give out the other Miraculous and train with them to be ready on Hero’s Day.

Hero’s Day was set to be the end of all this.

Papillion would curse the day he decide to come out of his hidey hole and with luck he would lead you straight to Mayura too.

“I see your points [Y/N]. I really do, it’s just so hard for me to go against the rules of the order. I did it once and it ended in a catastrophe.”

“Please Master, believe me, it’s better this way. How you did it in the original timeline didn’t work out.”

Master Fu signed but nodded.

He trusted your judgment and knowing what had happened in the original timeline, he couldn’t really disagree.

He promised he would send word to Marinette today. This evening all cards shall be laid out on the table.

You would be lying if you said you weren’t a bit nervous. Would Marinette believe your story, would she see and accept the truth?

Accepted you?

For now, you could only thank Master Fu for agreeing with you and for the tea.

It was time to go to school to prevent another Akuma.

Since she know Adrien and Chat Noir had been the same person…Marinette hadn’t been the same.

She had sworn… sworn to herself that after what happened last year with Kim no boy would trick her again.

Like possessed she had tried to find out anything about Adrien. Her room full of pictures of him. Presents for years and years to come prepared.

But that all got destroyed as she saw the boy behind the mask.

Chat Noir had always flirted with her, never accepted when she said no, and continued, even calling her this stupid nickname she detested after she told him to stop.

He proclaimed to like her, love her, yet he didn’t care how she felt about it and what she said.

Him been Adrien, who after all her research…no call it right Marinette, stalking had seemed like an angel from above was devastating.

Again she had been tricked.

And worse…she had become this crazy obsessed stalker because of him.

How could she have fallen so much all in the name of "love"?

Yes, she had a traumatic experience, but it didn’t give her the right to act the way she did.

So after she had returned home that day, she ripped and burned all Adrien-related things and took a deep look into herself.

Marinette realized, that she was probably not ready to let in someone again in her heart. She didn’t want to turn crazy Stalker again.

So she decides to take a break from all romantic things.

It was better that way.

Anyway, the good thing was that Adrien got out of his abusive home and Alya had not only cleared the Ladyblog of Chat Noir, but she also support Marinette in her healing.

Alya admitted too, that she had been an enabler. Instead of pointing out how sick her behavior was, Alya was so into supporting her ships that she didn’t see the red flags also.

The two best friends had a long heart-to-heart after Lady Wifi.

The midnight black-haired girl had a feeling that her friendship with Alya had only deepened and transformed. It was an amazing feeling.

After all these crazy days it was a bit funny to take something like a school photo.

All were still reeling from Adrien being Chat Noir, then him going into forest care and his father would face a trial for child abuse, that hearing about Juleka and her supposed curse was a nice change.

Weird, right?

But Marinette took this change to help her friend.

After the photograph had arranged them to his liking, he took the photo and Marinette felt her heart light seeing Juleka’s pretty smile of happiness.

Seemed like a curse was broken.

And she could help people without being Ladybug.

It was a nice feeling.

Then it was time for lunch. She was ready to eat with Alya and the other girls, as she felt how Tikki poked her through the purse.

Must be something important, since her kwami left her alone in school if an Akuma wasn’t on the loose.

So she told her friends to go to the cafeteria without her because she needed to use the bathroom.

A lie, of course, but the only safe space she could talk with Tikki.

After she carefully closed the door to the bathroom stall she let Tikki fly out of her purse.

Her kwami floated before her with crossed flippers.

“Marinette, what I gonna tell you will sound probably really confusing for you, but it’s time.”

She frowned.

“Whatever it is I’m ready to hear it Tikki.”

“That’s good to hear. It’s time that you meet someone special. The one who gave you the Miraculous.”

The midnight black-haired girl thought she heard wrong.

“Wait a second?! Does it mean it wasn’t yourself who choose me to be Ladybug?”

“No it was the honorable Guardian of the Miraculous…and he will meet you and Calamity today in his home.”

Speechless couldn’t even describe what Marinette was feeling.

The world…it was changing so fast.

As Calamity, you sat again at Master Fu’s tea table and enjoyed a nice cup of tea, only now it was evening.

You were happy that no Reflekta Akuma happened, and also that Juleka’s "curse" or whatever had ended.

One day, if things would be going well, she would be your sister-in-law. Also, you liked her, it was nice seeing a problem being resolved without the need for superheroes.

All in all a good day.

Still, you wonder again why Papillion didn’t make another Akuma today. Someone at least in Paris had to have a shit day. It was a big city!

Or…was he occupied with other things?

If he was who you thought he was then he was surely searching for a really good lawyer and trying to get Adrien back in his grabby hands.

But could he really be Papillion? Were the creators of the show so without fantasy, they just made the dad of one of the superheroes the villain?

…Well, Miraculous Ladybug had crappy writing, honestly, it would be shocking if it was someone else.

Yet, could it be so simple?

Maybe….you should just tell Fu after Marinette was on board and all, that you should just start swinging at Gabriel Agreste and see what happened.

You could find a reason why you attacked him surely.

You just wanted to end this show and then live a nice happy life in this world without stupid Papillion around.

Maybe some competent supervillain would appear, so you could use your powers really for the good of humanity.

You already have told Fu, that after Papillion and Mayura were done, you would hunt down Feast, defeat him, and get the Miraculous Order back.

Then maybe scream at them for an hour or so since their teachings were shit. In what world was it a good idea to take children from their homes and practically force them to become guardians?

So no wonder one day one child, Fu, snapped.

You still don’t get what sense it made to not eat for 24 hours and protect the Miraculous Box. What showed this test?

Whatever you would cross this bridge when it was time.

Right now you heard how the door behind you opened.

Every so calm Fu greeted Ladybug.

You turned also around.

Marinette was indeed transformed, skeptical looking around the little Massage Parlor. After she saw you, she seemed to relax more.

You gave her a reassuring smile.

Hesitantly she smiled back.

Master Fu invited her to sit with you guys.

“So you are the one who choose me as Ladybug and…Agreste as Chat Noir.”, it was not a question, she just stated things.

The master gave her a tiny nod, which made her frown.

“What made you think me and especially Agreste were the right ones for the job? What kind of method did you use to pick us?”

You had to bite your tongue to stop yourself from laughing. You kinda told Fu the same.

Of course, the master remembers how you have called him out and can’t help but smile a bit at Ladybug.

“Calamity asked the same things before I made her the new black cat. I assure you I thought at the time, that my test was sufficient, but I realized now that it was really flawed. With you I had luck. You are a good person, in and out of the suit, Ladybug. Chat Noir hides his true color well, even from me.”, he admitted.

Ladybug huffed crossing her arms. She said that she was glad that you all were at least on the same page now.

The Master apologize to her for the mess he had made, which Ladybug accept after a few seconds.

She was too good of a person to hold a grudge.

At least if your name didn’t rhyme with liar, but Lila was crazy smart and evil, so she had a right to hold a grudge against her.

If all worked as planned, Rossi would never give you trouble, as she did in the canon timeline. If she tried, you had already a few plans to counter that.

Then it was time to tell you her story.

You hoped all would go well.

Ladybug admitted…she wasn’t sure what to think of all that.

Her life, in another dimension, been a television show for kids?

How some misogynist dude and his posse gave her trauma over trauma and practically worshipped the ground Agreste had walked?

The universe was really against her, she been the punchline for many stupid jokes.

Your face as you told her about an Akuma named Backwarder had been really something. She didn’t want to think that she could have embarrassed herself so much in the future.

Then this Kwami Dime and Khee who had a sadist pleasure to let reborn people from other dimensions here, living the life of another, till it ended in suicide?

You been reborn as someone she hated?

It was all so…crazy.

Yet a part of her, who got bigger with any revelation and Master Fu telling her that this hadn’t been the first time nor would it be probably the last, started to believe.

Then you transformed back and her chin meet the floor.

Now all made sense!

“You are Chloe?! That’s why she changed so much, you live now in her body!”, she shouted, pointing a finger at you.

You smiled crookedly.

“Yeah…you guys weren’t far off with the alien theory.”

“You heard that?”

“Yep.”

This was mindblowing.

“So who are you?”, asked Ladybug curious.

You told her how when you were Calamity, that this was your true body, besides the cat accessory obviously, and told her as much as you could about yourself and your old life.

After that, she was quiet for a while.

You, Fu, Plagg, and Wazyy looked at each other.

What would Ladybug to next?

Well, she detransformed holding a hand out to you and told you smiling: “It’s nice to meet you [Y/N], thank you for helping me already so much and being on my side. I hope we can be friends.”

It was like a huge weight got lifted from your chest.

Marinette, and also Tikki it seemed, since the little kwami smiled cutely at you, seemed to accept you.

You took her soft hand and shook it.

“The honor is all mine, Marinette. I always wanted to meet you… Being your friend is like the greatest gift you can make me.”

That made her smile prettily, a cute blush on her face.

Yeah, suck it Dime and Khee, you were winning at life!

How do you think things might have gone if Adrien got Tikki and Marinette got Plagg? Because I think it would have been the beginning of their villain origin stories.

I feel like Tikki/Marinette and Plagg/Adrien work because they appeal to what the other needs. Tikki needs a holder that thinks outside the box with a ton of creative potential but those people are often frazzled and let their minds run away with them. So Marinette needs someone with a grounding influence and some responsibility to get her back on track.

Plagg needs a holder with a sense of responsibility and restraint to wield such a destructive miraculous, but those people are often in the box thinkers, afraid to step out of line. Adrien needs someone who he doesn’t feel beholden to, someone that encourages a more free thinking spirit.

Tikki is often gently scolding and rerouting Marinette and Adrien is often gently scolding and rerouting Plagg.

So if Adrien had gotten Tikki, they would have worked well initially because of their mutual dedication to doing the responsible thing and following rules. He would happily accept being essentially Spider-Man at first. But Tikki would have eventually become just another directive voice in his head and a daunting responsibility as the more analytics heavy hero and the one who is required to save the day. Adrien is already dangerously close to burn out in canon with his civilian responsibilities and always being the responsible/perfect one. With no outlet and added pressure to be two ideals that everyone looks to - Mr. Bug and Adrien Agreste- I think he’d crash. Hard. Possibly into a depressive, uncaring state. At worst, into a meltdown. And Tikki’s words would fall flat on his ears because they’re just another echo of the expectations that trap him.

And Marinette, oh man. Becoming Ladybug served as a way to build her confidence and encouragement to channel her frantic energy into something productive and clever. Plagg would channel it into pure destruction and chaos and enable her worst impulses. Like Adrien, she might be okay at first, developing an “I’m taking no shit now” attitude and becoming less of a pushover. But without Tikki’s restraint and guidance, With no one in her ear to stopper her more chaotic tendencies, she and Plagg might be menaces together. She might become an antihero or a vigilante. She’d be an emotional wreck because in her moments of clarity she’d be like “I was right! I AM a disaster!” And Plagg would be there like “… yep… really fucked that up. Well at least we have cheese.”

I think that Adrien with Plagg and Marinette with Tikki is more balanced than the alternative, but I don't actually think it'd go that badly if the kwamis were swapped.

There would be an issue with Adrien potentially getting burnout even more than Marinette has if he had the Ladybug role, what with how constrained his civilian life is and not having that much of a support system, so that might potentially be even more of a problem for him than it's been for Marinette.

As far as Tikki's presence though, I think that she could fill a valuable niche in Adrien's life, though a different one than Plagg occupies. Adrien doesn't have the sort of reasonable adult influence that Marinette does. I think Tikki might end up filling that role for Adrien, essentially mothering him at times, helping to fill a bit of the hole left behind when Emilie died.

As for Plagg and Marinette, I do think that him enabling some of her worst instincts could be an issue. Tikki's tried to rein her in when she started going down a path she shouldn't, though admittedly with little success. I don't think she'd ever become an antihero or vigilante though, both Plagg and Marinette have decent moral compasses, they can just be a little lax on the actual rules at times, or when their priorities conflict with their other priorities.

I don't think Plagg would be quite as unhelpful while Marinette was being an emotional wreck as you think though. For her more mild freak outs, sure, he might be unhelpful. But if she was really down, if she NEEDED that reassurance? We've seen Plagg with Adrien during those times, I'd say he's actually a more sensitive, caring kwami than Tikki is when he needs to be. He might try and play it off afterwards, but he's actually pretty good at encouraging his Holder when he needs to, and even getting his Holder out of an emotional hole - we saw that in Syren and Kuro Neko. So Plagg might actually be more helpful than Tikki in that regard.

*SPOILERS* For Miraculous S5 Ep Pretension Ahead

You have been warned!!

This episode did a lot in favour of the sentimonster theory, and I was not expecting to get so much more evidence.

Like, Wow

This episode was clearly setting up something big about the family rings and the children who I believe are sentimonsters - or sentibeings as Felix puts it.

Let me tell you how sacred I was for our girl Kagami when she gave her ring back to her mother at the end of the episode. Thank the Kwamis that Felix came through with his magical ring duplication abilities :)

And boy, let me tell you that speech was pretty deep for a 'kid's show'

Felix really surprised me with his motivations. And proved my interpretation of Emotion correct (mostly) - although he does seem to have less information/knowlegde on the whole thing that I expected from his earlier appearances or maybe that was just in regards to Kagami, who knows

Speaking of, Feligami was kinda cute, although I really could have done without the hole *kidnapping* thing. But they do make a nice couple

But now the main reason why I had to make this post: Adrien being unable to dispbey his father and having an anxiety/panic attack about it. 10/10 favourite scene of the episode! On one hand, it perfectly shows the control Gabriel exerces over his son (he didn't even touch the ring) and how truly abusive it is on his part - also neither Plagg nor Marinette found Adrien's silent obedience strange which means its probably the usual, expected reaction for being ordered around by his father. But then his breakdown !!

Somebody give him a hug, the angst was real

On a lighter note, this scene alone gave so many points in favour of senti!Adrien that I can't even ahkfasrggrhr

"Anything is a lot" is an understatement

Cataclysm is such a bullshit and underestimated power that almost no one sees Chat as the threat that he should be. Writers could've used Chat Noir's underestimation as a way to show his skills, his smarts, his capability... But Noooo! We can't have him be equal to Ladybug! Just saying that he is an equal is enough, even though, episodes show otherwise every. Damn. TIME!

Would it kill writers to make Adrien have the same realization as Ladybug that powers are only limited to the user?

Why couldn't he have this?! :

I thought weebs ,being a weeb myself, were supposed to know a lot about destruction, considering animes are full of it. You can use that miraculous to destroy magic, air, molecules, emotions, thoughts, Space And Time Continuum. What would happen if you destroyed a concept like illusions for example? Would the miraculous and all illusions all together cease to exist? Would Trixx die? And these are the things that show is refusing to explore.

They even could've spun an explanation about how Plagg and his ring are dangerous, using the distrust of Fu and other guardians have shown in episodes, therefore, little is actually known about it unlike others. It would've been a perfect backstory for Plagg, as his bond with Adrien needed time to develop compared to Tiki and Marinette, and a way to show why Adrien is the best black cat ever, because he is the first one to actually unlock something about the ring that not even centuries old order of miraculous would know. A way to prove that Adrien was not chosen for nothing and that he really is one of the most powerful people in the show, not some love interest or side character

And I rant about the missed potential, being able to think of a prompt on top of my head that adds more depth and sides to characters, while writers are still fixated on Marinette....

Another thing that keeps me awake at night is Chat Blanc. Words are such interesting things to play with. You can make them mean anything you want. What did Hawky say in that episode?

Hawkmoth: Chat Blanc, I give you the power of infinite destruction!

Infinite... Infinite is an interesting word. Does he mean infinite = more than one use?

If yes, then I will be going down that rabbit hole for a while and will gladly make it my head canon, if it's not true. Writers can't just drop us these broad statements and leave! Overthinkers like me will find many scenarios, meanings and usages for them! Because by equating infinite to being able to cataclysm more than once means that our favorite cat can do this!

And when he learns how to use that power more once he is an adult, he will become Chat Blanc 2.0, just without an akuma like in this fanart

I legitimately had a dream where I was watching a new Miraculous episode and it was Gabriel somehow magically tying Adrien into a cage in his room with black leather around his neck in a very obvious reference to his Chat Noir costume and basically being like "you're my son and my property and if you're going to dress up like an animal I'm going to collar and chain you down like an animal" and all this happened after Gabriel had tried to bond with Adrien by watching movies with him but accidentally let slip that he knew about Plagg -

God, I when I woke up I wasn't sure if that was an actual episode I had watched because this is approaching canon-typical behavior for this a-hole.

Side note, I'm increasingly convinced that Nathalie was in love with Emilie the whole time, not Gabriel, and what looked like her being in love with him was actually her own grief and obsessive love for Emilie making her act stupid.

I'm going to have to rewatch the series to see if this all makes sense. However, I have a theory that would cover up a good few plot holes in S5 of Miraculous:

I've seen a lot of people saying that it doesn't make sense that Nathalie has never made any effort to stop Gabriel before, and has in fact been a willing participant in many of his plans, if she promised Emilie that she'd stop him. But she wasn't always involved.

It's established that Emilie disappeared a while prior to "Origins" meaning that Gabriel clearly hadn't gone straight to the butterfly Miraculous as his immediate solution. However, notably, that day is Adrien's first day of school - he runs away and Nathalie is busy trying to track him down. My theory is that she'd been keeping an eye on Gabriel - making sure he couldn't use the Miraculous - and that day, because she was distracted with trying to find Adrien, Gabriel saw his chance and ran with it. Edit: this also explains why she forgot to get Adrien a birthday present, because generally she's very organised - we can safely assume that she was busy trying to keep on top of all the akumatisations and it slipped her mind.

Obviously Nathalie would then know that Gabriel was Hawkmoth - but she never turns him in. Why? The simple answer is "oh she was in love with him" but a) it's always felt a little bit on the Stockholm-syndrome side to me and b) I'm not buying that so early in the series - I'm fairly sure she isn't interested in him for quite a while, until around mid-S2. So why is it? There's actually a very easy answer here - Gabriel's her friend. Putting aside the fact that she's entirely dependent on the Agreste family (which I partially explained in another theory here) - she never goes home or seems to have any other family, and from the photos we see in Revelation, plus things she says in Passion and various other episodes, she, Gabriel and Emilie were very good friends. In S1 I don't think we ever see her do anything obvious, but at certain points of S2 she looks exhausted after talking to Gabriel about the Miraculous, implying that she's partially against him on this - notably at the end of Queen Wasp, where she confronts him - "I thought you'd given up".

So by the end of S2 she's angry, but not just with Gabriel - from Nathalie's point of view, Gabriel is still her friend and possibly the closest thing she has to family, and Ladybug and Cat Noir are prolonging his madness - in S2, she and Adrien, as well as Gabriel in some cases, are frequently targeted by akumas. Therefore, she starts to help him - leading to the line in Catalyst "They've been keeping you from achieving your dream for way too long. I will go to any length to end the reign of Ladybug and Cat Noir". Add to that the name of her akumatized form, Catalyst, meaning something that speeds up a reaction - she's not exactly aiding him, she just wants it over as quickly as possible. By the end of the episode, of course, she's become Mayura - as a desperate last resort, because no matter how obstinate he's being, Gabriel is still her friend and she doesn't want him to get into trouble, for both his and Adrien's sakes.

As of season 3, she becomes Mayura more and more often, even though it's hurting her, because she wants to help him - this is where she falls in love with him (*indistinct growling that sounds a lot like "utter bullshit"*) and wants to help him because of that - also, as Mayura she looks very different to her civilian form. This is where things get interesting and I'll do a separate post on it at some point, but Nathalie's design is very similar to her civilian form as Catalyst - where ultimately she had some degree of control over her appearance - but as Mayura, it's very different. This is possibly because it's a more subconscious matter - Plagg tells this to Adrien at some point - and we could potentially see this as a very similar matter between Adrien and Nathalie, that using the Miraculous gives them not only superpowers but the ability to be who they really want to be, deep down. Of course, as Nathalie was weakened by the curse, using the Miraculous probably also became an incentive due to the fact that it will have given her back some strength and some sort of control over her life again - this sort of addiction that is now being alluded to with Gabriel, particularly in Evolution.

Then, after the finale, everything changes, and in S4, while she's still actively aiding Gabriel, she can't directly assist him anymore as Mayura. Perhaps she was keeping him in check a little before, or perhaps it's simply both of their characters changing, but throughout series 4 Nathalie appears to become more and more uncomfortable with Gabriel's actions, finally coming up with a solution in Evolution which would put everything to "rights" without hurting anyone - we can assume that she's had these plans for quite a while and has been waiting until they could get ahold of the Rabbit Miraculous. We could even perceive this as a test - she's trying to see whether he really does still care about Emilie (and, by extension, her) or whether he's just after Ladybug and Cat Noir now (as her plan did not involve either of them). When he fails, she cuts him off. She still can't turn him in, because that would implicate her (and undoubtedly Gabriel would immediately turn her in). But she does keep on working against him - in Passion, where she tries to take the Miraculous so she can grant her own wish, for example. Again, Passion is interesting because Safari's design is nothing like Nathalie's usual attire - bright, bold colours and dramatic clothes, like Mayura, implying that Nathalie is in control this time - she holds the cards here, and Gabriel has no choice but to let her try and carry out her plan, which very nearly works. Also, it implies that she's dropped all pretence and is refusing to conform to the "assistant" role anymore. In this episode the videos are revealed - videos that clearly hold a lot of sentimental value for Nathalie, as do the photos - did she perhaps take them without anyone knowing? The photos are burned at the edges, implying that somebody (probably Gabriel) tried to do away with them - but Nathalie, who thus far has been one of the least sentimental characters in the show, held onto them, and kept them safely locked away where no one would find them. The same with the videos - Gabriel says that the videos were destroyed, but we know they weren't.

I've gone way off track with this, but in my defense a) Nathalie is an absolutely fascinating character and b) I'm a media student. But you see my point - those videos didn't come out of nowhere, and neither did Nathalie's villain arc - they all built up very slowly and gradually over time.

with season 5 being so chaotic (has not actually watched season 5) im half tempted to (instead of finally finishing oh he’s a phantom alright (just not the one you’d think)) just rewrite and post the danny phantom/miraculous ladybug crossover i wrote when i was like 13 that’s like 50,000 words and never finished and has the weirdest fucking plot points including:

-marinette throwing bags of flour at danny

-a student exchange program allowing danny to sleep on a couch for six months instead of giving him an actual fucking bed

-grossly inaccurate representations of time zones

-danny accidentally figuring out both ladybug and chat noir’s identities (marinette knows he knows, adrien does not)

-danny and plagg being bros (including one of my favorite scenes in the entire fic, adrien ranting about some random shit while danny plays cards with plagg on the couch. adrien does not notice they are interacting)

-akumatized danny being almost as overpowered as danny himself

-danny just fucking burning akumas with plasma blasts whenever they try to get him

-danny becomes ghost king

-adrienette goes on a date and chat mentions that to ladybug who is horrified at how jealous she is (aka reverse love square before it was cool)

-and my favorite part, i wrote a shit ton of weird-ass memes to go along with it. including (but not limited to):

ML Conformation (5x25) - Alternate Ending

Okay!! This episode almost worked for me and I really enjoyed watching it. Here’s how I would have integrated Adrien in without changing a whole lot:

• Adrien realizes that nightmare isn’t real - that it’s caused by an akuma - most likely his father because it’s the SAME nightmare that was in the previous episode.

• Adrien in his cell uses the alliance ring to cover the mic of the robot spy just like he did in the episode so he could talk to Plagg. He knows that he’s being watched and he knows the only way to get his father’s attention elsewhere is to pretend to conform to his father’s wishes. He tells Plagg that he’s going to put on the app and that he needs Plagg to bite him in a few minutes to get him to take it off.

• Gabriel falls for it, and once it looks like Kagami and Adrien are complying, he starts his plan.

• Plagg removes Adrien’s alliance. Adrien fights off/resists his nightmare knowing it’s caused by an akuma - most likely his father, it’s not real, and he’s gotta help Ladybug. He blocks the robot camera again with the alliance ring same as he did above, transforms and cataclysms his way out of the cell - (maybe makes a hole small enough that he can drag that foosball table over it, so it’s not immediately obvious. Haha!!)

• Chat Noir heads towards Paris and to his father’s mansion, since he knows his father is most likely the akuma. He gets there after Ladybug has experienced all her revelations, right as the miraculized are attacking.

• He and Ladybug fight of miraculized back to back for a moment, but not long enough for them to compare notes.

• At some point he takes a hit for her, or pulls the miraculized away from her with a distraction, but in the process gets cornered. Monarch shows up at this time. Adrien knows that he’s going to lose his miraculous, so he removes the ring revealing himself to both Monarch and Ladybug. While they’re busy reacting, he throws the ring to Ladybug or shoves it into Plagg’s hands.

• Adrien is restrained by the miraculized or ordered to stop fighting by Monarch.

• Marinette’s nightmare strikes in that moment seeing Adrien restrained and Monarch controlling him and Ladybug goes a little crazy. This allows Monarch to break past her defenses, and she loses her transformation.

•Adrien says something inspiring/calming/reassuring or how much he loves her, and Marinette is inspired all over again! She then transforms into Bug Noir. End of episode!

I don’t yet have thoughts for what to do with Recreation (5x26). That episode felt batshit to me and I feel like I will need the context of season six before I know how I feel about it.
