I love the Keith and Lance friendly antagonism/rivalry (yk that thing the show could've eventually gotten to but forgot to) as much as the next person but I will always be the biggest Pidge vs Lance rivalry/friendly antagonism

It's too funny cause neither of them value the same things as being the thing to compete in, but they're also both competitive

Like I think Keith has to be pushed to care about competition tbh (or at least the writers had to contrive situations and his personality to make it work) but Keith doesn't hugely care about the same things Lance does in the way that eventually it was clear, even when they did really contrive to make Keith care, that the whole thing was really one sided (which is interesting but in different way)

But with Pidge and Lance, they both value certain traits in a way that even though its not the same and theyre each competing over different things, the pair of them would believably die on their respective hills just to prove a point, in a way that Keith just wouldn't. Pidge and Lance will go above and beyond to compete and be petty in a way where they know they have a close friendship but also they're gonna win. That competition can rarely be mistaken for actual antagonism and when it is or if it actually is, then the two are direct and blunt enough too to get to the bottom of it

Meanwhile being playfully mean for them would be different, cause they're both highly insecure and while competitiveness is one thing, being mean to each other would kind of cause problems for them if they hit a button or nerve they weren't aware of

I think Keith and Lance are better with the sort of relationship where its less competitive but more that they can honestly express their more negative traits and beliefs in front of each other without fear that the other will try to correct or fix the others belief. They can be as playfully mean, negative or cynical as they want in front of each other cause they're both the sort that try really hard not to come across certain ways and try to hide (sometimes in vain) these parts of themselves. They can show their darker traits that others would be concerned about to each other and know that the other is capable of being honest enough to both be able to handle it but also to know when there should be some actual concern and lines drawn

Plus on top of this, competition for Keith has always been this thing put upon him so tbh I think that's also a reason for me why Keith and Lance should be more playfully mean than competitive cause for Lance competition has been historically safe and fine for him with certain people, while for Keith it's always been something that has had people treat him negatively and therefore means something different to him.

This got longer than expected but TLDR (shut up ik it's not that long): Pidge and Lance are the rivals, but Lance and Keith are the playfully mean ones. Maybe that just makes them rivals but in a different font but to me that different font is important

ok so back in the day i kinda shipped plance and I just had this idea where pidge, lance and hunk are eating in the kitchen or sth and someone (maybe keith or allura) tells them not to lick their fingers and then pidge just says sth like 'but there still is food in my fingers' and lance just says 'i can take care of that' and licks her fingers and they both are a blushing mess and then the rest in the room are just, awkward silence

it also works for klance if you think that maybe keith would be reluctant to lick the food off his fingers and i am 100% that flirty/horny loverboy lance would willingly take his lover's fingers to his mouth

idk what to do with this. just take it or leave it

Trigger warning:

"Lance, you don't you don't understand!" Keith argued, "nothing has been working!"

"Keith, you can't just do this, please. If not for me, then for shiro? Or Pidge, Hunk, Coran, Allura?"

"Allura," Keith spat. "You expect me to do anything for her when she stole everything from me!?"

"What has she ever stolen from you?!" Plance claimed. Keith looked at Lance, his expression un readable but silent none the less.

"You.." Keith whispered.

"What?"

" I said You! Okay? She stole you from me." He cried, his voice began to crack. "She stole my everything" he whispered. Lance stood stunned at Keith's declaration. Every beat of silence became loud, lance had said nothing, not even a sound. He just stood there as if the idea of Keith linking him in that way was un heard of, like it was impossible. Every second the large drop that was in front of Keith became more tempting. Every second his urge to jump, to get rid of the pain of all these years was getting larger. Everything he tried, the drugs, alcohol, any of it lead to only momentary numbness. Happiness for only a short time. Death though? That was a different story, everything would be gone, finally he would have control, it was like this was the only thing in life he could control and Lance was taking that away from him. Keith heard foot steps shuffling frantically up the stairs to the roof. "What did you do?!" Keith demanded "no, no, you are NOT taking this away from me!" Keith's tears began to fall down his face. A dreaded sense of betrayed looming over him. Lance wanted him to be happy. Right? So why would he take that away?! The footsteps got closer. "Probably shiro, pidge, Hunk and coran, of course not Allura though she hates my guts" Keith thought. A worry filled Lance's eyes. And yet, Keith didn't care...

One step...

Keith lowered his head, "Lance, I love you, I really do." he looked up, seeing the broken and dishevelled Lance one last time, and he jumped.

"NO!" Lance cried, leaping forward, his hand just slipping past Keith and failing to grab on to him. "I love you too..." he said, voice cracking and eyes filling with tears.

"You can join him." Somone said from behind Lance. He turned around quickly.

"Wha-" He began, but no one was there.

"Over here," the voice said, pulling Lance over to the edge, his stomach slamming against the railing borderline winding him. "Tempting, isn't it?" The voice giggled. "Do it, I know you want to. Follow him." The voice whispered in his ear. The ground became tempting, like it was calling him. Lance couldn't believe he was being persuaded to actually do this. And by the air at that. "Oh, I'm not "Air. " I'm the other voice. The one inside your head. The one with the "bad thoughts." But really, is this one "bad?" The voice questioned. "Go on... be with him. Join us."

"I-" Lance began

"They are almost here. Choose now. I think you know what you want..."

"Keith"

"Go on, do it."

"Yeah... I'll see him? Yes?"

"Yes," the voice responded. Lance looked to the stars.

"I'll he there soon Keith... I love you, " he breathed into the night. Slowly, yet hastily, he crawled over the railing in front of him...

"I'm coming, my love..." he whispered. Still looking at the stars, he submitted himself to the ground. Giving in at last.

Killed Lance this time!

even more ND Plance Headcanons! Autistic Pidge and ADHD Lance!

Lance bites his nails. A lot. Pidge bought him a giant box of chewy jewelry to get him to stop.

There’s just a comforting weight about the glasses on Pidge’s face. She’s started to feel exposed without them.

She doesn’t sit in Lance’s lap, per se, but she curls up tight against him and nuzzles him like a cat until he cuddles her.

Lance has caressed her cheek before and she hates it. The light touches drive Pidge mad.

They once spent 36 straight hours hyperfocused on a video game.

Lance’s back massages are. The. BEST! Hello, deep pressure, Pidge is in stimmy heaven.

Always, always, always have the TV on or music playing during dinner to drown out the chewing noises. Pidge and Lance share a deep disdain for people who chew with their mouths open.

Voltron Season 1 Thoughts (Review)

Season 1 was a very good introduction to the series. We learned a bit of each character’s base personality and went into depth with some of them such as Pidge and Allura and even bits and pieces of Shiro’s past. We got to see Voltron’s power and the Galra’s cruelty and how seeing that cruelty changed Hunk.

Shay was being oppressed and when he realised he could do something about that, Hunk grew. He stopped being a coward and scared and changed. That was amazing character development on his part.

Pidge also had some good character development this season, going from pushing everyone away to find her family to coming to realise that the team was her family. Hunk and Pidge were probably the two characters who evolved the most in this season and I love that.

I don’t support the trans Pidge headcanon. I believe Pidge was happy to be a girl but made the same decision Mulan did where she chose to pose as a boy to help her family. But she seemed miserable cutting her hair and struggled to let the others in close until she told them she was a girl. I am not super pro- LGBTQ+ but I am okay with same sex couples as long as its not turned into a fetish. However, I am anti-transgenderism. I don’t like it. No hate for the people but it makes me uncomfortable.

Hunk/Shay is adorable though. I support it. I will read it. I write it too. Keith started off interesting and I love his bad boy traits, so sexy and it made him very cool but he also feels very one-note this season. Still sexy, but I don’t like his personality very much. Shiro and Allura do really shine for me this season too though. Shiro is very strong – struggling with PTSD, which was written awesome but still being there for everyone and trying his best as leader.

And Allura, omg girl, my heart. You lost your planet, your people, your family and you’re still fighting for the greater good. Like that is true kindness. The way she helped the Balmera omg and her speech brought tears to my eyes. She definitely is my favourite this season, followed by Shiro.

Lance annoyed me. Like he’s not bad, I know but this season wasn’t really good for him or for Keith, but he’s too shallow for me to like him just yet. The parade stuff and constant flirting annoyed me a lot. I think the only time I liked him was when he defended Pidge in the first episode, like covered her mouth and all to keep her from getting in trouble. Weirdly enough, the two moments I liked him were when he was defending Pidge, once from Iverson and once from Sendak. I think I’ve always been a Plance shipper lol but never admitted it because it felt like that one odd ship.

Overall, I feel this season was a good introduction to the series but it’s not one I rewatch constantly as a whole season. Oh forgot to mention, I also liked the little snippets we got of Shiro and Keith’s brotherly bond. Keith rescuing Shiro from quarantine was probably his best moment to me in this series as well as protecting him when he had a PTSD attack. So yeah, that was sweet!

Raising Paladins Headcanons

Some lovely headcanons for if Lance develops a not so subtle crush on Pidge. @rueitae asked for it and you can quiznaking believe I’ll deliver. It’ll cover the main family she knows and loves, even Sendak. So! Without further ado!

Matt

Supportive all the way

He knows Lance and though a goofball, he knows Lance would be good

He would give the usual “if you hurt her I will hurt you, that’s a promise and not a threat” talk

He may tease Lance constantly about it, but he means well

“Don’t worry, buddy, I’ll find out if she likes you, too.”

Drek

“Wait, what? You like her!? As in… like that?!”

Extremely protective over Pidge; they’re like siblings

Will try to block Pidge from Lance’s view

Pupils shrink in agitation when he sees them interact more closely than they should as paladins (as in sitting close to play video games or Lance knitting Pidge a scarf and putting it on her; it’s innocent but he doesn’t care)

May get aggressive at times but won’t actually threaten or hurt Lance

He vents to Kullo and is afraid that Pidge will leave them for a possible boyfriend

“I can see what’s happening and they don’t have a clue, they’ll fall in love and here’s the bottom line, our trio’s down to two.”

Doesn’t know if this is a fleeting crush or serious

Will tell Lance a few things about Pidge that she likes to help him bond with her more

Thinks Lance is a nice guy

May give tips on how some Galra court each other

Also teaches Pidge how to handle a guy and reminds her to hit him if anything goes wrong

Is not afraid to give Lance “the shovel talk”

Will watch Lance closely to make sure he’s not up to something

Sendak

Does not approve of Lance or anyone for that matter

“You want to date my daughter, then you must fight me for her honor! Victory or death!”

Very protective of Pidge

Openly threatens promises harm upon Lance, especially if he does anything wrong

He’s got one good eye and you can bet he’ll keep it on Lance

“I don’t know how to program, but I will learn and I will program a sentry to keep you away if I must.”

If Pidge one day decides she really likes Lance and wants to date him and asks Sendak not to be mean, he will be putty in her hands and treat Lance like a member of the family

This would terrify Lance and make him wary and worried that Sendak kill him at any given moment

But wait. We’re missing the most important part about these headcanons.

How would Pidge react?

“Um… what? Like me? I mean we’re friends but...”

Is confused and not sure how to handle things

Probably asks Coran or Allura for advice because they would be more impartial on the subject

If Pidge likes him, she would try to tell Lance in the Galran way

She would probably be nervous and flustered, not sure if she was doing things right or not

She may run away and hide in a pile of stuffed toys

If Pidge doesn’t like him, she won’t make it awkward but she’ll also try not to make it painful on Lance

she would continue being his friend and work well alongside him as paladins

So uh-- wow I never thought I'd come back to Plance when I needed comfort,,,

Here are some really self-indulgent Plance headcanons, enjoy ;)

- Whenever they watch rom/com's together, Pidge likes to just look at Lances face and see his change in emotions,

(From his teary eyed look when the couple does something cute together to the look of pure and innocent joy at the dumb gags thrown in, Pidge never gets bored)

- Lance really likes to plan date nights for the two of them, he usually thinks up of really strange yet romantic things to do/see, but most of the time something will go terribly wrong with Lance's plan and his only backup plan is "invite hunk to join us and mess with people" so they generally just spend time bonding as the garrison trio,

- Once they got stranded on an alien planet for almost two days, with no technology to call for help around them,

- They've definitely also tried to recreate a beach setting somewhere within the Castle of Lions, and ended up making a mess that took weeks to fully clean. (Even leading up to the loss of the Castle, most of the paladins were still finding sand literally everywhere, even though it was contained only in one room...),

- I like to think that, despite his meticulously thought through sleeping routine, there are days where Lance does all his regular routine but instead of going to bed he likes to stay in the main room with Pidge whilst she works so she has some company,

- On the days where he sleeps in the main room, he makes sure to bring a bunch of pillows and blankets to ensure the most comfort in case Pidge gets tired and wants to sleep too - which is very rare but it has happened once or twice.

- They're both the biggest pokemon nerds, so when they find a bunch of pokemon movie box sets at the same place they got Kaltenecker, you bet they're going to watch it almost every week,

-I always get this warm feeling imagining them hanging out in one of their rooms, the room dimly lit by the screen, surrounded by snacks & technology, and them just belting out the original pokemon theme.

- Pidge is also the type of person who's laptop is just full of movies, shows and games she's downloaded,

- Despite the range of movies and shows Pidge has, the paladins tend to only watch, the Shrek movies, Jurassic Park and on an off chance they have a lot of time, you'll catch them watching The Walking Dead.

- Pidge and Lance 100% play Stardew Valley,

- They both miss the domestic aspect of earth and they find comfort in the little farming simulator,

- Lance romances Abigail because she reminds him of Pidge with her love for games, her bravery/strength and her overall cuteness ((he was previously married to Sebastian but has since divorced him in game to be with Abigail))

- Pidge romances Alex, because his love for the beach, cockiness and crippling self-doubt reminds her of Lance.

Plance Headcanons Part 3

They both love musicals

Pidge likes to sit on countertops

Lance likes this too because it makes her so much easier to kiss

Pidge once dumped an entire box of altoids in her mouth to prove a point

She instantly regretted this decision but will never admit it

Pidge took 5 years of piano lessons

She doesn't remember a lot of the songs she used to know but she can read music

Lance cannot read music but he taught himself how to play guitar and is incredibly good at it

Lance whistles all the time

Pidge cannot whistle at least not well, but she likes it when Lance whistles

Lance likes black coffee and dry wines

Pidge cannot drink either of those two things

Her coffee must have almost a 1:1 ratio of cream/sugar to coffee

She doesn't care for alcohol that much but if she was going to drink, it would have to be sweet

Lance likes olives

Pidge thinks that's gross

But Pidge likes black licorice

Which Lance says invalidates her opinion on any foods ever

Pidge is afraid of spiders

She doesn't really like any bugs but she really can't stand spiders.

But she also can't kill them because she's afraid they will jump on her

So usually she just traps it under something with a note to Lance to kill it

Lance is terrified of snakes--and a little bit of reptiles in general, having grown up in Florida

Thankfully neither of them have to deal with either of their fears very much living in space

Lance grew up near Disney World and has probably been a dozen times

Pidge has never been to Disney World

They had planned to go once, but her Nonna had passed away and they had to cancel the trip. Then her dad went into space and she never got another opportunity

They definitely go to Disney World after defeating the Galra empire

Oh hello anon!! I never get asks about fandoms outside ATLA so this is super exciting to me 😂

I vibe with plance in a sibling bond kind of way. I think they’re great friends— best friends that have a hoot together. Of course, as a general multi shipper I can also see the value in a romantic relationship between them. It could be cute and I’ve seen some amazing fanart for romantic plance!
