would have too much to say that inevitably repeatedly breaking things up into tweets wouldn't be a pain but already going back like, lets check out andor episode one again in full true connoisseur mode and i'm not pressed if i make it into a proper in order rewatch, also when the bonus for me is that i'm always more likely to better keep track of names or faces or pick up on something that was supposed to be like a straightforward plot moment or whatever else, right, though i didn't have any especial problem with that. anyways i'm just already like oh this entire first sequence fucks, and i didn't really go into this that skeptically but do remember like yeah first time around it was like with this intro premise alone like ah i see this fucks then

like first of all an initial shot choice that is stylish, which tells us that there will be stylishness. fun that the couple evil [police procedural] characters are great at being pathetic zero charisma soaking creepy & wet disgusting in their own special ways, but cassian is getting rained on all the time he's cutting the plumbing line he swam here soaking wet literal treatment

things feeling figuratively and literally grounded (walking, only seeing that walkway, streetview, no soaring establishing shot to show This Isn't Your Ordinary City (scifi edition)) like, also still clear enough it's scifi but really with the Magical Realism type of approach, which i do imagine i enjoy more

the scoring is so good. BANGER of a track used when walking into the bar, also used later when dropped into the introduction of his beach getaway new life scene, brief as it is. the sexy edm style track, and it Is also like "well i mean. sure then" getting so far into this scene before it's evident like oh you're not actually here to have sex. pretty flirtatious w/this proprieter but it's like, maybe discreetly acting natural, maybe just acting naturally for real and it's just like that, we've all been there re Blend In, Follow Their Lead as a rule for operating anywhere ever, presumably relevant here, the Everyone's Wary nature of the whole series....tbt talking about jyn like yeah idk maybe her brand of wariness that's not charismaticly intense enough nor closed offedly intense enough is like, itself confusing or whatever but absolute "what's not to get or like" sense from me, and naturally cassian cropping up like it's your wary kindred spirit

anyways then having fun in there. looking at the required sexy hologram dancer like hmm they're a little space androgynous. a little space gnc af. the guys who are just immediately pissed off b/c the supposed new customer is getting preference. the delay after the proprieter lady is like Behave to them and cassian looks at her, then them. his immediate brooking no nonsense w/the two as soon as they're all hostile mode at him about all of it, at least in terms of like, not playing it utterly neutral. the It's Political times of him asking about a woman from kenari, proprieter lady going for both a) how about this other planet of origin and [names an inferred similar feature] as well as this kind of establishes already that [from kenari] can be space racially profiled, since cassian doesn't have to explicitly confirm that's where he's from too, and her inferring this is a Preference that can be catered to around physical features, and certainly once cassian's Wanted about this, the urgency around maarva & co asking who they've ever told that cassian's from kenari is sure like ah, space borders, space immigration, space [indeed the racial profiling when the soaking is he creepy or wet pathetic heinous cop pulls up an Image], the repeated like space colonialism and space indigeneity and space resource extraction that gets to come up more with [i've been in this fight since i was six years old] flashbacks....it's great like, the magical realism aspect where it's like [yeah Real Life but slight au] feeling immediately relevantly recognizable and as viscerally dramatic as you'd want, like, everyone's daily lives involving this inherent lack of safety that can turn into the stress of imminent danger on a dime. also the eventual b) asking if he's a Boyfriend or Husband like, space gender, magical realism style where it's like of course the space misogyny power disparity they'd be on the lookout for, might be vulnerable to a partner who is a space man. oh and then also the shift when he says it's his sister he's looking for, from more guarded to sympathetic when it's like, the context then isn't the woman's vulnerability being heightened if this is someone here out of like, a possessive angle, and rather that he's now not only presumably sympathetic to her as well, but potentially some of that vulnerability being extrapolated to him as well. which is not inaccurate

obsessed w/the Long Shot where cassian's getting held up by the two company sentry guys and it's him close up center frame slightly from above and just tearing it up acting while we only hear the other two for a good while until they wander in out of focus, that at first we also can't see and thus can't immediately Know they're talking to him....as well as again establishing like, yeah this is a prequel where we know our protagonist won't die no matter how [people are definitely dying] the situations are, yeah we know he's cool action guy even, but he's not operating in a story here where it's all about his protracted solo epic action sequences, he wants to avoid those, other people want to avoid those, everyone's better off operating more stealth mode if they can help it, but also that it doesn't matter to him that We know he's not gonna die, he doesn't know it, and Everyone knowing those stakes and reacting to the stress rather than being like stoic too epic to be at all fazed badasses. d luna crushing it, everyone's great but yeah sure acting as hell huh

also this time around i was just so much more noticeably affected by like oh i feel bad for this guy who's realizing his buddy who also sucks is dead and now that he's in over his head majorly life and death....everyone acting in every part is just going ham like bevy of these varied performances in varied roles and nobody dropping the ball in the least. while it's obvious too that like, feels bad for the panicky source in rogue one intro as well but cassian can't give much away then b/c he's not the protagonist and it's all very mysterious at this point. and that in addition to upping the surprise, it's presumably nonzero meant to be a kindness from him to take the time to comfort the guy before then blowing him away. whereas here the guy sees it coming and like, really brought this upon yourselves and you made this potentially life or death for cassian from the start, as he was aware, but this time it's like yeah cassian wasn't expecting that to turn into [bad luck, that headbutt killed you. and/or also the fall] and is Not so mysterious to us so can be clearly surprised and less than thrilled about things as well....but feels apropos that also w/ this intro of these two rando sentry guys from the bar who the proprietor was like yeah they're not really cops but they annoyingly like to act like it, it can be a bit more genuinely pathetic vs the Pathetic(tm) quality of the like imperial space feds characters. like oh i do feel bad for this guy and all the time he has here to plead for his life :( but doesn't feel like it's meant to be some [dun dunnn?] moment re cassian b/c it's like, tells us the stakes, tells us he's not fucking around and Will shoot someone but we've also been told he's not like here to be, or feel, badass invincible, is not unaffected by fear of death nor of having killed someone / death in general, but also Will be blowing you away if need be, also speaking to like, he's run calculations before abt like, whaddaya gonna do, what are the risks and which are you willing to take, and obviously has fought before and if he's ever killed someone before it wouldn't be surprising, some like "my god i've never done that before / now i'm out for blood, never look back" factor does not seem to be relevant. but fr was fun to be surprised by like oh i feel bad for this guy this time around lol noticeably much more than affected me the first time around. true [oops in over your head] vibes but which also then speak to like, yeah probably would've stopped pretending to be cops, just feels like yeah he's more distant from [uh oh, attention from Empire cops now] figures so it's like, ah, you bring it upon yourself but. i'm not quite sure what got me this time around lol, again i guess just more ability to focus on details and thee moment b/c i'm not like, needing to intently devote my attention to potentially following names and faces and plotlines b/c it's the opening scene here and don't get lost before things even happen. maybe it's having subtitles on where i'm all the more sure of the dialogue and him talking about "we'll go in together" has me like "there but for your fucking around, no need for this, i remember the vaguely friendly acknowledgment before your egos were bruised and you got hostile about it and escalated it to This" maybe it's even him offering a story and phrasing it like "we played too hard in hitting" when i have this like, vulnerable association lol like if anyone's upset / distressed enough And there's the immediate proximity / presence of something meant to be like, purely fun, where even talking about Playing may be enough to be like oh no lol, even when that's not really what happened. again, the acting from everyone, maybe it's just focusing all the more on that, wherein truly epic seeming distressed and miserable, maybe it also helps that we also get shots of more diego luna acting which is also to the effect of: pretty distressed and miserable, soaking wet. i dunno but i'm like hell yeah being all the more caught up in whatever.

also that this was like, oh a seeming potential thread establishment? and of course "whoops killed two guys" is indeed an established thread, the [looking for his sister] remaining latent as the setup to that inciting event and otherwise like, just something he does, characterization and [backstory thread] relevant, but only that. and yet, the way that opening scenes are generally meant to do, this whole sequence conveying plenty about how things are going to be, establishing overall contexts, thee vibe, that the soundtrack fucks, that nobody's messing around here in the least like. just as these first minutes didn't have to go so hard, so neither will the rest of the series have had to. i also didn't have to say all this or post at all but i get hype and when i have anything to say i really do. no concision. oh shit and we end with like the directional reverse of the first opening stylish shot but w/cassian in frame as well yeahh boyyee

You can't even imagine landing someone so hot!'" He raised his voice, cupping his mouth to make himself even louder. You gave a nervous laugh.

GENESIS CHAPTER!!! YESSSSSSS MY BOYY

Genesis is a hate-reader 🍷 Canon to me. I'm also glad you give him time to shine as a strategist, like, he IS a caster and one of the most proficient SOLDIERs in existence 💅stands to reason he does have to think things through on the battlefield and this isn't addressed nearly enough imo.

Zack "I'm not traumatized 😀" Fair is breaking my heart here. Both Cloud and Zack get to miraculously be together after losing the other, but the fear is fresh in Zack's mind. And unfortunately due to the rapidly developing situation (SCREAMS) he doesn't really have time to process and address it, and that's assuming he isn't avoiding doing so like the plague because Cloud's alive so everything's fine now right? 😀 Except it's super not and now Zack is the only one who really knows how not fine it is 💔

Speaking of not addressing emotions lol Angeal is in full repression mode and Sephiroth is isolatinggg 😬 I know how easy it is to withdraw when you're used to not having anyone there for you, when you have to figure out and manage everything yourself regardless of how unequipped you are for the task, but I also feel for Genesis here because it really does take a lot of work to gently coax people out of that over and over again. I like how you're addressing this in general, but especially from this pov! I really feel Genesis' frustration here. He knows it would get better if Seph just came home 😥

I really enjoyed the intel gathering scene with Bolin 👌👌👌 You're really serving up top shelf Genesis in this chapter and it's delightful to watch! But Camp 28 is stressing me tf out agagshshshshs Zack is somewhat reassured for now but even Kenny is worried about Cloud's lack of self preservation (physically and emotionally damn) and he doesn't even know how bad of a situation they're walking into! Though no one really knows and that's kind of the problem, but I love Kenny and I want him to survive this 😭 He needs to survive so he can be brave and trust Juvie with the kids!

Speaking of kids, CLAUDIA IS SO PRECIOUS I CANT 💕 I'm as bad as Vincent at this point. Claudia deserves the world (and she doesn't even exist anymore.. I will never be ok again 🫠)

Hi, I'm in Denver and i saw you were treated by Denver health? I got an email from an advocate but it was unclear what I'm supposed to do except wait? You can't call the lgbt center it always gives you voice mail. I have a couple of questions: 1. Tf am i supposed to do, i gather i need to find a pcp to talk to them about this but they were kinda just like HERES STUFF YOU ALREADY KNOW ABOUT HOW BULLSHIT IS GONNA BE K BYE GOOD LUCK in the email 2. Yeah healthcare for trans people is such a minefield and I'm sorry fuckers keep disrespecting you.

I get my HRT and other trans related healthcare at planned parenthood. There are several in CO, but the one I go to in Denver has amazing doctors. It just takes a while to get in to any of their locations and even to get ahold of anyone on the phone. But it's worth the wait because they understand what you are asking them and get to the point quickly. I had to have a letter from them and my therapist so my insurance would cover some of my top surgery just as a heads up for you.

I only got top surgery at Denver Health. What I did was contact them specifically about gender affirming surgery (boob removal). In general, I think the doctor at DH are extremely rushed, understaffed, and underfunded so I would not seek a pcp or gender affirming care there. Anything else honestly is a waste of time.

I went to this part of their website to start the process https://www.denverhealth.org/services/lgbtq-services/gender-affirming-surgery/chest-reconstruction-surgery . It took me like a full ass year waiting to even get a consultation so we could schedule another appointment that was to then schedule the actual surgery 3 months out.

Their work sheets are extremely unhelpful most of the time, but don't be afraid to email them and ask for clarification. It's annoying though. I got passed between people constantly on the road to top surgery. But ye. Hopefully this is helpful and I'm wishing you luck dude ❤️

so like. out of curiosity what happens with the small insignificant group - 👹

RIGHT. SO.

Putting this under read more bc it's pretty long (so strap in!! Lmao)

This group starts off as maybe a dozen people who know people who work in/actually work in the palace

EVERYTHING about the vessel/dreamer plan has been kept HEAVILY under lock and key, so while very few people know the details, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that that weird statuesque guard you've been seeing trailing after the king for the past decade and a half is also the god-killing, infection-destroying "secret" child of the king and queen.

So!! Word gets out that PK basically took away all rights to the throne from his child and instead raised them as a knight, and people start to believe that maybe it's because he was afraid of their power. If he raised them to be completely subservient to him, they'd never use that power against him. (obv that's not true but at this point these people are basically just conspiracy theorists)

THEN when Hollow starts making more public appearances, they're surrounded by guards CONSTANTLY, which prompts these conspiracy theorists to believe that PK is STILL afraid of them and, coward that he is, is putting his guards - the cannon fodder - in harm's way.

It doesn't take long for people to realise that Hollow is actually the fkin sweetest, kindest, most patient person you're likely to ever meet, which spurs confusion as to why the king seems to think they're so dangerous.

Eventually, this group of people come to the conclusion that their king is a coward who'd rather hide his child away than face the fact that they're 'CLEARLY ' more qualified for the throne than him, and that the only reason they're known to the public now is bc of their spontaneous resurrection (which is used as more 'evidence' that they're more powerful than the king lol) and he had no choice but to "spin their story" into one of a happy family reunion. (some people actually believe that PK killed Hollow out of fear originally, and held the funeral out of guilt but there's no "evidence" for that so it's not a particularly popular theory"

SO it takes a while for them to gather enough members to actually consider trying to stage a coup, but they do manage.

They call themselves PHFTT (Prince Hollow For The Throne) bc I think it's funny (tho I'm open to suggestions if u can think of a better name)

MEANWHILE during one of Herrah and Hornet's visits to the palace, Herrah, using her motherly powers of intuition, noticed that Hollow was unhappy with their constant surveillance, and tells them that Deepnest is always open to them.

After the confrontation™️, Hollow decides to take Herrah up on her offer and catches the first tram to Deepnest, escaping their guards for the first time.

(RIGHT!! ABOUT THE CONFRONTATIONS:

The first happens when Hollow decides they can't take having zero privacy and tries to talk their dad into getting rid of their guard detail, which PK basically completely ignores, promoting Hollow to give him the silent treatment for a few weeks.

After that, PK approaches Hollow, confused as to why they seem annoyed at him, which starts confrontation 2 electric boogaloo, where the screaming match happens (and where they find out that they can project their thoughts thru the void to anyone who's been touched by it (the heavier void poisoning u have, the clearer u can hear them, but at this point they're SCREAMING so it's p easy to hear lmao)), Hollow storms out etc etc)

WITHOUT TELLING THEIR DAD

PK, naturally, freaks tf out, believing his worst fears to have come true, and sends literally as many people as he can out to look for Hollow.

While on the tram, Hollow manages to calm themselves down enough to feel guilty about just upping and leaving, so resolves to basically just pop in for a visit before going home (let's say the tram to Deepnest takes a couple hrs, so they'd be gone for about 5 hrs if they spend an hr ish with Herrah and Hornet)

By the time they arrive back in the city, they've completely cooled down, ranted about PK to Herrah, played with Hornet for a bit ect, and they're ready to try talking to their father again, resolving to be firm, but also apologize for their earlier words bc they absolutely did not mean it and in fact love their dad to pieces.

By the time they arrive at the palace, they notice that it's strangely free of guards and retainers (bc when I say PK sent EVERYONE to look for Hollow, I mean EVERYONE)

As they approach their father's workshop, they notice vases, paintings, curtains etc along the corridor are completely destroyed/ knocked over. It looks like a blind stag ran through the corridor.

Opening the door, they hear a commotion coming from inside.

Turns out, having sent out p much the entire palace staff and then some, PK has left himself completely vulnerable to intruders, and was taken off guard when someone he recognised as a retainer walked into his study without knocking.

Remember when I mentioned the palace staff being some of the first members of PHFTT?? i.e. people who know the layout of the palace like the back of their hand AND will be able to know the exact moment that the king becomes vulnerable???

PK is ambushed by over 2 dozen people, each screaming that he's a COWARD, a DISGRACE, UNWORTHY OF THE THRONE OF HALLOWNEST and his first thought is that they're infected, but there's not even a hint of orange in their eyes, and his confusion and hesitation is what allows them to get a few decent blows in, along with him being distracted bc of Hollow's disappearance.

SO at that moment, Hollow opens the door, and when the attackers notice them, they immediately drop to their knees in front of them all like

"My Prince!! We, the Prince Hollow for the Throne society have elected to destroy this coward, and pave the way for y-"

And the room goes silent.

Feral Hollow ensues

BASICALLY after the fight and everything gets sorted out, PK is able to see that Hollow is quite capable of taking care of themselves actually, and Hollow is able to realise exactly how their dad feels

Hey its me I'm back. Back with a different idea.

So a couple weeks ago I made a post about Nefarion. Nothing in depth, just a little shitpost. But that coupled with @unofskylanderspages recent posting of stuff from the Mask of Power books got me thinking.

What would happen if Nefarion was never stopped? I'm not talking about what would happen if Kaos screwed with the past too much, I'm talking about what would happen if Wizbit (I think that's his name) chose to take the Obi Wan Kenobi route instead of trying to stop him himself? Because Wizbit stopping Nefarion (one way or another) lead to Eon becoming the Portal Master we all know and love, and the subsequential events of the games. But if that never happened, how would that change things?

So. Let me detail what I'm thinking.

If Nefarion were never stopped, there would not be any Portal Masters willing to expose themselves as such lest they be hunted down and killed. Wizbit and any other remaining Portal Masters would hide themselves away and probably never use their magic unless necessary, and probably not be very willing to train anyone as such either. There also would not be any Skylanders as Nefarion banished the Skylanders of his time, and I highly doubt he would allow any sort of rebellion to take place under his reign.

Now, where does that leave the characters of the time we know? Well, that leaves me to pull some bs from the mess of lore that we have in games. First, I'm going to talk about Kaosandra and Kaos. Because hoo boy is that a freaking contradictory mess, lmao. So according to Giants, Kaos' parents HATE Portal Masters. This is kind of confusing later on as it is later revealed that Kaos' mother is herself a Portal Master. Now, most people just take this as Viarious Visions not paying attention to previously established lore from Toys for Bob. If it is or not, idk. Maybe it's just that they hate Light Portal Masters, but are fine with Dark Portal Masters (Kaos being the exception because... bad parenthood).

Most people take it that Kaosandra just hid the fact that she's a Portal Master from her husband, whoever tf he is. (Because remember, according to game canon, Kaos and Eon are not related). And I can see this making sense ONLY if one goes off part of Spyro's Adventure's lore for Kaos; that being that he is a prince from a different world entirely. Again, this stuff has some MASSIVE contradictions. He's from a different world, but you can also go to his childhood house within a day. He's royalty, but also his parents amassed their wealth from gross soda. Nobody plays these games for the lore.

ANYWAYS. So if Kaosandra hid the fact that she's a Portal Master to gain power and wealth from a man that hates what she is, I can 100% see her doing so to stay alive. ...and still get some power and wealth out the deal. May as well go big or go home even if it puts you within closer ranks of someone who wants you dead, right? Here, I imagine that the man she marries is probably related to Nefarion in some way or another. Definitely not his son, nor some kind of king. Possibly a grandson or even great-grandson. (Also, would Nefarion be alive at this point? I mean, I suppose he could be. For all we know, the mask could grant immorality) I mean, children of princes are still called a prince, iirc. So that would still check the box of Kaos being a prince. It could also grant Kaosandra a bit of invisibility because what Portal Master would be dumb enough to marry into Nefarion's family? Hiding in plain sight, as it were.

Now, this would still probably lead to Kaos being a Portal Master himself, but the threat of death would DEFINITELY subdue at least SOME aspects of his personality. He'd still have a complex and be an ahole, but just a slightly less LOUD ahole. Your great great grandfather hanging death over your head does wonders for behavior, I imagine. Now, whether Kaosandra knows that he's a Portal Master or not would definitely be up in the air; as it could either be a very rare instance of motherly love from her to teach him to hide it, or him just being the disappointing, ugly runt of the litter that she constantly overlooks. Which would still be a slight advantage for him to, again, avoid death. Because he wouldn't know she's a Portal Master either. So this would probably lead to him NOT kicking his father in the shins at a party and leaving. Straight up bad idea in this context.

Now, where would Eon be? Tbh, I can't see him in anything less than a position of power. He's too grandfatherly. Now, according to lore, he was a servant boy to the previous Portal Master who led the Skylanders. Well, that sure can't happen here. So I imagine that on top of being a genocidal maniac, Nefarion is also probably legit racist. He probably wouldn't have any mabu, molekin, dragons, or what have you in any position of power. Perhaps in that case, Eon's family would be granted a lordship or something just because "haha human" idk. I'm pulling stuff out of thin air for this idea. Leave me alone.

Now, would Eon still be a Portal Master? Yeah. Would he be trained? ...maybe? Maybe one of the few Portal Masters that still knew what they were doing noticed that one of the local lords (that is actually a decent human being that disagrees with Nefarion, but uh... too smol to do something) has some interesting qualities about him and offers to teach him how to harness and hide it in exchange for safety? Could work. What would he be lord over? Probably a small part of the mabu country. And who would he be a lord FOR? Well, obviously, Nefarion or whoever his successor is if I'm not going the immorality route would be the ultimate authority. However, depending on the time period and area, there are cases where children of the king who are NOT very close to succeeding to the throne are given presidence over a land and its lords so they don't have to go to the king directly for things as small as taxes. So heck it, let's put Kaos' family there.

Now, even without being a Portal Master, I'm sure the guy wouldn't like Eon. Eon would be a fair lord who probably doesn't overcharge taxes, and according to most stories, evil people don't like that. So they'd be on board with getting rid of him, but can't because he hasn't really done anything that would warrant it, nor is it their call.

But he is old and doesn't have an heir.

One thing that is a fact:

If it was really Azriel's shadows that Elain stepped out of, Feyre would've mentioned that. Feyre has seen Azriel's shadows and I just know that she would've said "Elain stepped out of one of Azriel's shadows". And no I don't want to hear "Feyre doesn't know his shadows" because the author does have to let us know what is going on. Or maybe Feyre should have said something like "smoking shadow"? It was never even mentioned again that it happened so how important is that moment really? What is important and shocking is that it was Elain who stabbed the enemy, not that Elain stepped out of a fricking shadow. The word "shadow" doesn't always apply to Azriel's shadows. The shadow that Sarah meant was probably just the King of Hybern's shadow or the shadow of something above Elain? You know these scenes in movies where the characters are coming out of a shadowy place? Where they come to the light and you see them clearly? It was most likely a scene like that and I will laugh at all those who thought this little word has some big meaning behind it when we'll see that scene on TV.

It also doesn't make any scenes? They would never leave Azriel, even if it was for a moment. They skitter back from Elain and isn't it already claimed that "Elain will make his shadows vanish because they're not good"? And how tf are they able to transport someone who isn't Azriel to another place? I never knew that they can do that because it never was mentioned before and after that scene.

Yes, Azriel can give orders to his shadows. He controls them, but wouldn't Feyre or anyone at least mentioned how Azriel had helped her? Wouldn't Azriel have mentioned that?

So what else is Sarah supposed to call those dark things if not "shadow" so everyone wouldn't think it's Azriel's shadows??

Sarah would just have to write about Elain pooping and some people would try to make her poop connect to Azriel because her poop is dark like Azriel?! Idk anymore...

This is an interesting point... sjm doesn't shy away from the shadow imagery in general, and so she is usually clear about when she's talking about Az's shadow and when it's just your run of the mill shadows. Doing a quick search of that word in acomaf and acowar, and you can see pretty quickly that it's one of her typical "light, dark, night, shadow, glow" etc.

I mean the alternative is Feyre to be like "Elain appeared, where did she come from!" Or perhaps "Elain tiptoed behind Hybern" or something like "Elain crouched behind and waited to attack". But you know what that does? It completely ruins the impact of the moment, the surprise that she is there. So yeah. She stepped out of the shadows, which is something people do when they are trying not to be observed.

Mor also steps out of a shadow in acomaf (this is why I put this in my drafts, I was trying to find the quote and I got tired lmao), Ianthe's face is described as being in shadow, Feyre "exploded into night and shadow". Az is a shadowsinger but much like Elain and roses, he did not invent shadows. He does not own the patent. Shadows exist without him and vice versa.

The reason that Elain stepped out of shadow is to emphasize that no one noticed her there. She hasn't been training with her own powers let alone someone else's so how in the world??? I wouldn't be surprised if she knew to be there to save Nesta because of her visions, but that's the extent of it.

And I've said this before and I'll say it again, it wasn't a big moment for Elain - she saved Nesta, but I am willing to bet she has nightmares about killing Hybern. We don't celebrate Feyre killing the faeries in acotar. She had nightmares about that, she got up in the middle of the night to be sick over it. If Elain hasn't been dealing with something similar, I will be fucking shocked pikachu.

ALSO I am adding something on, but if Elain actually did that, then why has no one said anything since? Like you mentioned that Feyre wasn't clear, but um, that's sort-of a conversation to have. I don’t know the exact order of some of these things but roughly, and mostly categorized by what school I was in at the time because its easier to remember where I was spending my time thinking about these lol:

Robin Hood. (just elementary school I think) Just in general. Consumed anything I could find about him. Somehow believed I was his descendent 💀 I actually visited Sherwood forest and I can’t remember if this Started the madness or if I was already starting lol

Warriors (elementary and I think going into middle school a bit too) The king. the big one. It was my fucking lifestyle. Believed I was a cat in a human body. I had my dad preorder the books as they came out, they’d come in the mail and I’d read the whole thing in a day. I literally prayed to StarClan. I prosthelytized these books to anyone who would listen. I still proudly display the books in my room they are a part of my soul even if I barely remember particular events of them anymore lol

Fushigi Yugi (middle school I think) I don't know how tf I found this anime and I've never heard of anyone else talk about it before. I don't even remember what it was really about anymore. But I know I was making OCs and drawing fanart and had books of notes and little fanfiction things that I never shared with anyone lol. I vaguely remember that this show actually had a trans character, though its anime so of course it wasn't done particularly respectfully lmao. But I think its part of why it stuck with me so much at this time that my gender was starting to trans lmfao. (All i remember is the protagonist was going to get the ability to grant wishes at some point, and one character who was mostly seemingly male asked if she would use her wish to term him(?) into a woman)

His Dark Materials (middle school) I ate these books up and I liked The Golden Compass movie too, but definitely not as much as the books. I made myself a daemon and I am so sad to say I don't remember his name anymore. At the time I was still identifying as female so the daemon was a male lol. I think I had decided his settled form would be a Jaguarundi even though I was still a kid lmfao. I remember gently forcing my friends to make daemons for themselves too lol

Hetalia (middle school. pretty sure the hyperfixation was about done before starting high school) I don't know that I want to share much details about these dark times but I was so insane 💀

Star Trek (high school) I watched The Original Series when I was younger with my dad and I loved it but didnt particularly hyperfixate until high school, where I started also watching The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. Loved them all so much. Made OCs, fanart, etc. For some reason I never really got into shipping with Star Trek though. I've always said they feel like my family members so it feels wrong LOL. I do ship Spock and Kirk and stuff but it took me awhile to get into seeing actual ship fanart because it felt like seeing your parents kiss or something 😂 I remember I would draw little star trek things and look up lore and I'd talk about the different species and stuff to anyone who would listen lol

SuperWhoLock (high school) I sort of fixated on each of these more at random times, though I'm pretty sure that Doctor Who was the strongest interest of the three? I think I did cosplay stuff for all of them, fanart stuff for all of them. Read so much Sherlock fanfiction it makes me sick to think about now

Homestuck (high school) pain. OCs, fanart, cosplaying, everything. Parodies of real songs made to be about homestuck filled my song library. Madness

Marvel (high school and slowly tapered off into the medicated years lol) MCU, Xmen, comics, everything. I watched all the movies religiously and I had a subscription to the marvel comics app where you could read most of the comics or whatever. I LOVED The Young Avengers and I was sad that they never really made a movie or show for them, but I'm sorta glad they havent now. They would have fucked them up. I also loved the XMen First Class movie and was obsessed with Cherik. And I ate up all the MCU crap, I loved Thor and Jane. I just watched Thor: Love and Thunder which was my first MCU movie in quite awhile and the Thor and Jane stuff in it was kind of cathartic tbh

And then I was medicated 💀 The medication was good in some ways, but it seriously deadened all of my emotions. I just did not deeply care about anything or anyone and thought that was just part of maturing. The MCU movies getting worse and worse until they were unwatchable kind of crushed me and the urge to be interested in anything as well. The closest thing I had to big interests in this time was weirdly enough all games: Pokemon Go, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Minecraft. Not full obsession but they took up most of my free time. But I sort of realized that most of my zest for life died around the time I started taking the medication. And the main reason that I stopped taking it was that when I forgot to take it the detox symptoms or whatever were so violent and it literally would make me sick for days just from forgetting ONE day. So I decided to stop taking them (I weaned off them slowly) and have mostly not regretted that decision. Now I get the thrill of hyperfixations again, which feel even more exciting after being numb for so long lmao

Our Flag Means Death. Obsessed obsessed obsessed. I think I may have read more fanfiction for these ten bitch ass little episodes than anything else before. I made the sideblog to allow myself to go full balls to the wall without flooding my main lmfao. I loved being a part of this fandom as it was born and it has been so much fun. I joined a discord server for this show and I love talking to them. Even though the hyperfixation has faded I still adore this show and I am SO happy there's going to be a season 2, I can't wait, and I hope the hyperfixation sparks up again when it comes out. I can't wait to tear apart every little detail again.

The Magnus Archives. This shit hit me out of left field. I was sad from my OFMD era being burned out and I was tired of all of my music and I decided to listen to this just for something to do. This shit grabbed me by the gooch and swung me around the room. I listened completely blind I had no idea what was going to happen at all and I am just fucking losing my shit. That ending literally has me eating drywall. And since it ended like over a year ago pretty much everyone else is over it now and I have no one to talk to and I'm losing my mind. Help. Help.

Welcome To Nightvale (high school) So I was MAINLY obsessed with the fact that the protagonist was gay and less so with the actual plot lol. I did cosplay for this though, I was even Cecil for Halloween one year. I want to restart listening to this soon, to give it another chance, since I have a new appreciation for spooky shit. Once my TMA era has faded lmfao.

Ice Planet Barbarians Series (I think I was reading these right around the time I stopped taking meds lol) I started reading the first one as a joke because it has a funny name and funny cover but I actually loved it. I loved the world and the lore and everything. It frustrated me in the end though because a) each book got too formulaic. Every book was a brand new couple. Girl I want to hear more about the established couples and their families and shit. and b) because gay stuff was almost impossible given the way things worked in this series lol. Anyways close but no cigar. I read at least 20 of those fuckin books tho

Howl's Moving Castle book series (Post Medication Modern Era) I fucking adored these books, they were so easy to read and the world was so delightful and funny. I wish there was more. But there was not enough lore or community for me to hyperfixate

The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings books (PMME) Fucking incredible even if they were very hard to read. I'm almost certain I would have had a full LOTR era if OFMD had not hit me like a train. So maybe this will happen eventually but I think I've been enjoying it The Normal Amount for a longer amount of time instead lol. I did also have sort of a mini era back in high school or something over The Hobbit movies but now that I've read the books those leave sort of a bad taste in my mouth lol

Black Sails (PMME) I was still too obsessed with OFMD when I watched this lol. This show was so good and had I seen it before OFMD I might have gone super crazy for it. I still think it was such a good story though.

It's the Porsche + Vegas stuff that doesn't make any sense to me. Every time they teamed-up/interacted became less and less believable until it reached a point of absurdity imo. Ep 5 (makes sense)/Ep 7 (eh...)/Ep 9 (oh porsche honey)/Ep 13 (...tf)/Ep 14 (why are you acting like he's an old friend and not the guy who threatened to murder you to piss off your bf lmao?). Even the concept of having to see Porsche interact w Vegas in a season two... pls no thank you.

Initially, it makes narrative sense for them to team-up. Initially. Porsche teaming up with Vegas after 1x10 just makes him look stupid and naïve. Sorry not sorry. I wrote a meta piece about my lack of faith in Porsche's judgment due to this decision. I don't trust Porsche's judgment; I love him to death, but I don't trust him to make smart choices and good decisions. I think most people in the fandom were too focused on the Porsche betraying Kinn argument/angle that they didn't really pay attention to the optics of Porsche literally choosing to trust Vegas after he'd betrayed him ... again. The fandom was too busy discussing that aspect of it, instead of trying to figure out why the fuck Porsche keeps choosing to run off with someone who has proven that he can't be trusted in any way. I always gave Porsche a pass for the first time because he didn't know it was Vegas who drugged him.

The second time was bad enough when he decided to escape from the main family compound and run off with Vegas during the Tawan Debacle. But the third time? The time after he knew for a fact that Vegas had been playing him for a fool the entire time and manipulating him? Hell no. People don't understand that it's more than just my bias and hatred for Vegas talking when I talk about this. It's the fact that all this does is make Porsche look stupid as hell. It does. You can't tell me that Porsche constantly choosing to run off with Vegas after knowing what he knows makes sense to anyone. It is not a smart choice. It never has been and never will be.

I know some of you guys trust the writers and BOC and that's fine. That's your right. However, I don't trust them at all. From what I can tell, that is the one aspect from the novel that the show writers are intent on keeping. In the novel, Porsche teams up with Vegas multiple times, yes? Well, I'm 90% certain the show is going to hold onto that aspect of the novel too. They may change literally everything else, but I guarantee that's something that's going to keep happening and it's going to keep making you question Porsche's intelligence every single time.

Wilbur interrupting Hannah to learn about Niki is a bittersweet kind of thing with the information it brings. Themis doesn't seem to care about anyone, but when it comes to one of their own, a siren (I doubt they'd care as much if she wasn't a siren), there's clearly some weight there. But at the moment it doesn't seem like that matters, because Niki is out!! I'm so glad for her. Tommy swearing at the information and Hannah completely agreeing is just, very funny to me, considering what they were just talking about.

Hoo boy, Quackity really went for the kill there. He's cocky, and he's a little shit, and he wants to provoke people. He wants a reaction out of them, and particularly out of Wilbur and Tommy because they're just mysteries to him. He gives off the vibe that he's not a fan of royals, and he's clearly curious as to why Phil and Techno care as much as they do. The jabs hit particularly hard, especially after what they just came out of, and Wilbur loses the small semblance of self control he had keeping him together. Throughout the starting of the chapter there's so many descriptions of how numb Wilbur is, coming back full force after the failed output with Themis. But now, now all he sees is red hot anger. It's a startling difference which shows what a mess Wilbur really is right now.

yeah you nailed it, Themis cares far more about their own sirens than they do anyone else. because of how closed off Themis is as a planet, there are almost no citizens of Themis that aren't sirens. in case it wasn't clear, men and women are both referred to as sirens. siren is the name of the species, Themisians is the name of the nationality for those who are citizens of Themis, but they are almost always tied together so most people use them interchangeably

lmao yeah I wanted to include a brief moment of levity with tommy swearing and hannah being like "yeah same" because even if she's a very strict and snobbish princess, she's still the same age as wilbur and still reacts like "what the fuck" to situations like that.

yeah quackity isn't a huge fan of royals. he's not part of the upper echelon of politicans in the galaxy, especially not the royal side of things. he's not a fan of all that type of BS, and he definitely doesn't understand why phil and techno are so attached to these random princes. and because of this, he accidentally breaks wilbur out of the numb shell he's been in the entire chapter. wilbur has reached a point of stress where he doesn't fully feel it anymore, and instead is just having wild mood swings whenever he gets pushed too hard, which is what we saw happen with quackity
