Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
Power Drift (PCE / Sega AM2, Copya Systems / 1990)
It will always be weird to me that Power Drift got a PC Engine port but not a Mega Drive one. Regardless, this is an admirable attempt to bring Yu Suzuki’s sprite scaler roller coaster racer to consoles.
Actually going insane over the implications of Jason asking Dick to be the Robin to his Batman in Battle for the Cowl.
Like I initially took it at the purely surface-level of Jason wanting a partner in the general sense. Which made sense, it's a huge responsibility and a lonely one so an assistant/sidekick/partner seems a no-brainer if you can get one.
But then I really thought about it, because Jason is not asking Dick to be his partner in the general sense; he's not even asking Dick to be his Nightwing. He's asking Dick to be his Robin.
And they both know exactly what Jason means: "Be the light to my darkness. Be the smile to my scowl. Be the hope to my fear. "
He's saying "Be 'Robin'; be the embodiment of Love and Justice and Goodness. Be the exceptional person that you have always been. Be the slightly-less exceptional person that I was when I wore your colors. Be the person that I was in the process of becoming and might have been (or might still be), if only Joker hadn't clipped my wings."
He's saying "I am prepared to become vengeance, become the Night. And I will go further than Bruce ever dared to, because it is what is needed. I will be the necessary evil. But you don't have to be. If Batman is Gotham's curse, Robin has always been its blessing. I will be the brutal punishment to our world, and I am asking you to be its incandescent gift."
He's saying, "Be for me, what we were for Him. Be my anchor, my comfort, my hope. Remind me what it's all for, why it's all worth it. And remind yourself as well."
He's saying "Be 'Robin' again--for both of our sakes."
So beyond the whole "Ganondorf is now Canonically a Femme Fatale" conversation, I feel like this part of the interview wasn't discussed a ton? Because apparently the original vision was that Zelda doubted whether to restore Hyrule at all (an interesting conflict! put it in the game next time!), and then got punched into the past and then seemingly was convinced of the necessity of her role and Hyrule as an entity (I'm extrapolating but it feels like it's what's being suggested, the direction they wanted for her arc, and it's basically what we get in the game).
And uhhh.
that certainly does not help the whole. imperialist. thing.
Summary: He stares at HuaiSang, incredulous “If Second Jade wanted to drift with me, he would have done it when I asked him five years ago.”
“People change, Wei Ying.” Lan fucking WangJi’s voice sounds from behind him.
Pacific Rim AU.
Kay's comments: Loved this Pacific Rim AU! In which Jiang Cheng is no longer allowed to pilot a Jaeger and so, Wei Ying has to look for a new partner. Enter: Lan Zhan, who he knows he's drift-compatible with, but who didn't want to drift with him the last time they had seen each other. Very cute and I like the glimpses into Wangxian's past.
Excerpt: From the front of the room, Marshal Nie looks ready to skewer him alive, so Wei Ying plasters on his best smile and turns around instead of bolting right the fuck out of there.
“Lan Zhan!” He notes that the other somehow learned to emote even less with his face since they last met two years ago. “It’s been a while!”
“Indeed.” Lan Zhan says, bows slightly to him like he did back then, and walks away as if he didn't just use five words to leave Wei Ying with enough shit to process for a year.
“You better put together another fucking list.” He hisses to HuaiSang before grabbing a bo staff.
pov wei wuxian, modern setting, modern no powers, pacific rim fusion, jaeger pilots, drift compatibility, developing relationship, getting together, love confessions, fluff

motorcity / transformers crossover my beloved . . . I cannot stop thinking about it. Ah heck. Just gonna mumble about it over here untagged for a bit.
Mike and Dutch tow a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse back to the Burner’s garage. *Admiring oohs and aahs all around from the gang of automobile enthusiasts.* In the early twenty first century, that Bugatti model was one of the fastest street legal cars in the world. This particular vehicle has several incomprehensible mods going on under the hood, components that none of the Burners have ever seen before. And the parts that are recognizable are just - wrong.
Chuck opens the fuse box and stares in bafflement at the segmented metal plates stacked neatly in the place of actual fuses.
“The battery doesn’t have terminals,” Julie says. “I’m not even sure it’s a battery.”
Texas leans in next to them and taps the engine block with a wrench “I don’t need to understand how the dang thing works to use it! Let’s just take this out and hook it up to Stronghorn, Dutch!”
The Burners are shoved back as the car somehow flexes and bends. The hood of the Bugatti snaps shut with a firm clack. And it drives away.
*cue chase sequence at over 200 mph ending with a disgruntled Drift transforming and declaring their driving to be “truly remarkable for organics”*
