So all the lowest level mooks were forbidden from fighting the Straw Hats, but, like, the Vice Admirals are also not getting involved. Technically I suppose they’re staying back so they can give orders, but how disheartening would it be to get your ass beat knowing your much stronger boss watched and did nothing to help.

I think it works pretty well on the power scaling level, too. The Straw Hats at this time aren’t strong enough to over power a handful of Vice Admirals, but are strong enough to match captains.

Okay so I’m only kind of into Rottmnt and tmnt 2012, but I came across some old discourse and so I wanted to share my opinion no one asked for lol

Basically a lot of fans argue that the Rise turtles would be more powerful or better fighters then the other continuities, because they were created to be great warriors and were able to become heroes even without a lot of training, with the addition of their ninpo which allows them to basically have magic. However, I disagree. (Explanation under the cut)

In martial arts movies and anime, one thing that is repeated a lot is that martial arts technique, skill, and training, always overcomes raw power. Dragon Ball Z shows this brilliantly in its early arcs - Goku fought warriors from other planets who had superior power used power levels as a way of determining strength, but beat their asses because he was a better fighter in martial arts technique and trained more. He wasn’t more powerful, but instead put in the work to be a better fighter.

So the way I see it, turtles like the TMNT 2012 (or almost any other continuity really) would be overall better fighters than the ROTTMNT turtles. It wouldn’t be EASY, and they definitely wouldn’t win the first time they fight since they don’t know what they’re going up against, but they trump the ROTTMNT turtles with sheer experience, skill, and training. It’s shown in the 2012 show that they put effort every day into their skills by training against one another and learning new skills, and it takes April a long time before she even starts approaching the turtles in skill, and they have fought (and beaten) magical/more powerful opponents before.

Meanwhile the Rottmnt turtles have much more situational skill, and their ninpo helps a lot, but are shown that their training is much less rigorous and that they often win because of their enemies having a weakness or some other outside advantage rather than overcoming them on their own. It’s why the finale hits so hard, they are out of other options and need to tap into their own inner power to win. I’m not saying wither show is better or worse for this, just how I see it and how writing conventions of both shows would play into this.

The Rottmnt turtles would go into this overconfident and loose, to comedic effect, while the 2012 turtles tend to be under confident and win by using their skills and teamwork.

Also the whole ROTTMNT vs TMNT 2012 “rivalry” is dumb and I hate it (and was why I left the fandom, it just became too common to see in fanfic and got really toxic). Just let them be friends after beating eachother up like every other action show crossover.

MY DISAGREEMENT WITH GEEKDOM101'S SHORT

Geekdom often combines both the DBS anime & DBS manga continuities (as many ppl do) & I believe that's what he may have done in his YouTube short. So, I disagree with Geekdom on this point. Halway disagree because the manga version of Jiren is far weaker than the anime version. But, in the DBS anime continuity, I DO NOT believe that Orange Piccolo is stronger than Jiren and there are a few reasons why...

HOW STRONG ARE GAMMA 1 & GAMMA 2?

In the film, Piccolo says "those Gamma androids SEEM on par with [Goku & Vegeta.]" That is just what it "SEEMS" like to Piccolo. It's close, but not exact. And we see from Gohan's fight against Gamma 1 that they are weaker than Goku & Vegeta since Gohan could easily handle Gamma 1 once he used his Potential Unleashed form. The Gammas' strength is likely a little above SSG.

HOW STRONG IS ORANGE PICCOLO?

When Orange Piccolo fought Gamma 2, the android's attacks were nothing to Piccolo & couldn't even make him flinch. Then, Piccolo one-shotted Gamma 2.

In comparison, Jiren (not using his full power) effortlessly blocked SSG Goku's punches with 1 finger.

So, Orange Piccolo's strength would be somewhere between "base" Jiren & Full Power Jiren. However, Orange Piccolo definitely IS NOT stronger than Super Full Power Jiren (that is shirtless Jiren who has Awakened with power on par with Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku.)

HOW STRONG IS JIREN IN THE DBS ANIME CONTINUITY?

Jiren wasn't made weaker as many still believe. Here's this post I made in 2022 that explains what Vegeta's statements meant.

In short, Jiren was in the same realm of power as Goku & Vegeta, but positioned at the top while they were somewhere in the middle. And Vegeta realizes that Jiren's power was due to the masterful ki control he had that was beyond what they could currently do with Super Saiyan transformations. And in Dragon Ball, the more mastery over your ki that you have, the stronger you can become. (The advancement in power is different between a character who can physically transform & a character who cannot. My link directly above explains it.)

Vegeta was referring to his battles with Jiren in his "base" state and Jiren in his Full Power state. Vegeta never fought Jiren in his awakened state, Super Full Power Jiren, which is strong enough to hang with Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku.

HOW STRONG IS CELL MAX?

Cell Max is said to have been able to defeat Broly if it's mind was complete. Because having control over your power makes you stronger than mindlessly using your power.

Orange Piccolo kept up with Cell Max, but was still weaker in the end. This means that Orange Piccolo is close to DBS version of Broly's full strength, but still a bit weaker. Just like with Cell Max, Orange Piccolo would be able to hang with Broly, but ultimately lose in terms of power. However, it is possible that Orange Piccolo could barely win against Broly with his skill and strategy. A Special Beam Cannon may need to hit a specific weak point on Cell Max to defeat him, but a Special Beam Cannon anywhere on Broly would be deadly.

RANKING THE STRENGTH OF THE CHARACTERS BASED ON CONTINUITY

And now I will put in order the strength of the characters in the DBS anime continuity (which the DBS movies are part of) & the DBS manga continuity. They differ greatly, so you have to know which continuity you are referring to when discussing how strong a character is. (It can be confusing, so I don't insult ppl who get it confused.)

I can't say how Toyotaro will write the strength of the Gammas, Piccolo, or Gohan. Since Goku has mastered Ultra Instinct & Vegeta has Ultra Ego in the DBS manga continuity, the manga adaptation might actually have the Gammas at SSB level & Potenial Unleashed Piccolo might be above SSG level. Gohan is always in the Potential Unleashed state in the DBS manga, so Toyotaro may correct that or keep it the same. But, Toyo will make Potential Unleashed Gohan stronger than SSB for sure. Gohan Beast will probably be stronger than Black Freeza, Orange Piccolo might be slightly below Broly, & Cell Max might be around or a bit higher than Broly. We'll find out soon enough.

I hope this ask falls under the criteria/guidelines! But I find it interesting to ask

Which among the following ROs: M,L,S,B,A are the most powerful? Or typically stronger/if it gets to a free for all whose coming out on top?

Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind.  I'm still kinda working through the fine details of the ROs characters, so I might not answer them if the answer is one I dont know yet.

Now to your questions…

Michael/Michelle and Lucifer/Lucielle are evenly matched in terms of power.  These two are the most powerful overall.

Simeon/Simone and Abaddon come next in the power scale.  I think Abaddon has more sheer power, while Simeon/Simone has the most intelligent and surprising inprovisation.   It will be quite a battle to see. ^^

Belphegor/Belle comes next.  They're a powerful demon in their own right and easily outstrips most cannon fodder.

Callis/Charmaine is a normal angel of heaven.  They prefer to attack from afar with the elements and are rather inventive.  Agaisnt most angels, its a 50/50 whether they'll win or lose.

The next in power and, at the bottom, is Ellis/Elaine.  They are quite powerful for a human and against most other humans or monsters they would win.

How strong do you like Superman being. And if you're not one to care about, what version of the character has the power level you prefer?

I like Superman's power levels to vary across his career. Ideally he starts at the Golden Age/early New 52 power levels where he can't even fly, and a tank shell could kill him. By the middle point of Year 2 he grows in power to around the DCAU level, and he stays there until Jon is born. After Jon is born he grows in power again, in the form of learning to control his bioelectric aura to perform new feats, and he stays at that level until Lois dies and he goes off to explore the galaxy.

Ultimately my ideal is where he is right now. He's powerful, to the extent he's only beginning to explore just how strong he is and what he can do even with his years of experience, but he's not Silver Age tier. Of course any fluctuations in his power levels are fine by me, whatever makes a good story.

Fate Franchise-- Servants-- A Question

Okay I’m not exactly a deep diver of Nasuverse lore or anything, but if memory serves a Sevant’s potential power comes from two main things: What they did in their legend, and how well known/entrenched their legend is. Meaning a more famous hero has more potential than a less famous one right? At least in theory? In that case what about a super powerful hero that very few people have ever heard of? Like a local hero that is said to have fended off a demon bear or a thousand marauders with their bare hands? Would that hero have A-Ranked strength because their legend says they were that strong? Or would the fact that their legend is so ‘weak’ mean they cap off at D-Ranked strength? What about the opposite like with Robin Hood? He’s incredibly well known in the English speaking world but he’s never really depicted as being overly strong or fast, just clever and skilled. So does he have E-Ranked strength because he is remembered as ‘just a man who did the right thing’ or does he get C or B-Ranked strength because he is so well known and his fame grants him power?

If someone who knows the lore better than me could clear this up I’d appreciate it. I greatly enjoy the Fate anime and I like learning new lore.

Alright so I was just having some late night ramblings about the au and the power level of witches and warlocks in it with Kaz. I decided to share the ramblings here so you guys can have an idea of the strength scale. I got permission from Kaz to post this!

Side note: If you don’t know, Aine is the Fairy Queen in Irish folklore.

As a reminder, the ranking scale of a mage from weakest to strongest, to literal bullshit levels of strength are:

Recruit - Novice - Advisory - Veteran (Only 10% of the population makes it here) Your own Rank (About 1% of population) - Council (Only 5 members)

Hamon users: Low rank, but if they're competent like Joseph, Lisa Lisa, and Kazuno, they can also go head to head with mid rank. If they're a hamon user with a stand like Joseph…uhhh I'd still say Mid rank because high ranks and above are literally just bs levels of powerful XD

In range of stands? Star Platinum could go mid. He could also do high but it'd be a headache and a half.

Gold Experience Requiem. I say Requiem because this is the only way I could say you could confidently kill a high rank witch without being a magical being yourself. GER could go against high rank. Probably survive a council encounter but he'd have to be really lucky to actually land a hit on any of them. The only one I think he could actually hit is Fernande because of her big ass spider body.

Made in Heaven: laughs in resets the universe Well, Granny Ann would probably challenge him as the only "survivor" if hes going against her specifically. I doubt there would be a winner here, they're even.

However, since Star Platnium Requiem is literally canon in the au, once SP reaches Requiem he could probably go head to head with the council but I don't think he could go higher than Fernande and Jurgen.

As a refreshers, the council order is:

Granny Ann: Time

Ayane: Hope

Giglio: Despair

Jurgen: Fortitude

Fernande: Illusion

This being order of power with Ann being the oldest, Fernande being the youngest, and Ayane being in the middle. Giglio is Ann's granddaughter and the only reason Ayane is stronger is because of her raw talent. (She's also Ann's favorite thus explaining why she can rebel against the council without being killed.)

Kaz:

They'd have to be saying their prayers though. Star isn't to be trifled with in his normal form.

Ann plays favourites, no dignity.

And I guess I might as well say this as I have revealed fae blood in the human world existing because fairies be fucking humans lmao:

Yasha and Saki: If brought to the dark realm their fae blood would awaken and they'd be the normal fae level

Shanna and Rose: They have the blood of Aine flowing through them so they'd be awaken as royal fae level

Does this happen? I have no plans to make such a thing happen but it is still fun to think about~
