@momopeachchild and I tossed around a little bit on an AU idea for Juni and Nami (And Olly and Hawthorne/Oleander) (how do i even spell Hawth's name? I don't know) and it was just (I mean I've approached some of this before)

Juni and Nami and Olly are college roommates who met in college through becoming roommates per craigslist or something like that (idk modern things), or having shared classes and

Olly & Nami are mutually attracted to Juni but aren't doing anything about it because Juni is seeing someone. Nami is also seeing someone but her thing is super casual.

Juniper has/had a crush on Olly but Olly's straight (as far as he knows) and anyway he's dating a guy and it's getting serious. Nanami intimidates him but he likes her, too.

Nanami's sleeping with a milf she met at a party and they're keeping it super casual.

Juniper's seeing a college professor who is NOT one of his professors but does work at his school.

It turns out both these people are Olly's parents who divorced amicably. (No, I don't know what Olly's Mom looks like and maybe I never will.) Juniper did not realize this despite Olly and Prof. Hawthorne having the same last name. Nanami didn't realize either but she's like "Ah, yes, I see, those cheekbones were a dead giveaway."

Nanami is down for a foursome if her not-gf is down for it (idk if she is).

Nanami likes to tease the fuck out of Olly because they're frienemies.

So i wanted to hunt a paradox pokemon during the first jaunt into Area Zero but having the NPCs around and the fact that they seem to spawn less before the endgame made that tedious, so I decided to postpone the final hunt until AFTER the prof fight.

and it paid off!

The last shiny in my badge quest! He was somewhat named after the Elf who did not show up for elf pratice.

This was so fun, and i'm thinking of doing another challenge like this.

The Shinies (Featuring my starter who got to be who i hunted shinies with for the most part, mostly to try and stay around the level cap):

In total Nine shinies. The meowth is the one Salvatore gives you, its not shiny!

In order: Oleander the Toxapex found as a Mareanie! Vermillion the Kilowattrel, found as a Wattrel. Esch the Haryama. Tusk the Donhan! Zest the Flareon! Matcha the Ursaring! Ampora the Vaporeon! Zell the Dragonite, caught as a Dratini!

My final team consistated of Toxapex, Kilowattrel, Haryama, Flareon, Dragonite and Donphan!

This challenge was hard! The shinies I found sometimes had me ad a disadvantage but with thinking, and battle items we did it! I feel accomplished. ;o;

I may do another thing like this in the near future! Maybe I'll make a sideblog for Pokemon stuff...

Initial concepts for my animation final that I lost a lot of time on due to losing a pet and my mental health tanking.

For an animatic to Jonathan Young’s cover of ‘Shiny’ cause of course it was

First idea was a continuation of the world I started developing for an earlier project. Which is basically fairytales meets sci fi action, edgy fairytales so original I know lmao. Where the heroines are suited up warriors. 

In this one I considered Alice in Wonderland being a behind the enemy lines type scenario or something, where the Cheshire is using cloaking technology and trailing her throughout her journey as a rogue operative just doing whatever he wants. Yes I realize how cringe it is to draw the Cheshire as a catboy but idgaf. 

Second idea was inspired/based on this old piece of mine. Wanted to try and twist the ideas of plants and especially flowers into something negative/harmful because the general idea and symbolism of plants is life and growth. It’s a very rough sketch/ideation but the flowers are supposed to be Oleanders which I found in my research to be deadly but beautiful.

Obviously the designs would have needed a lot of work but I do still like the concept itself.

Third idea was heavily inspired by Vox from Hazbin Hotel and my own interpretation and development of him through years of roleplay. Basically considering a villain for the object head universe I’d created for this project. 

It was the idea/concept my prof ended up thinking had the most potential so going forward in it’s development I tried to make it it’s own thing, but credit where credit is due! Also heavily influenced by a bunch of old cartoon villains like Carface from All Dogs Go to Heaven and the villains song about money from the old Tom and Jerry movie. As well as just. My rage and frustration with billionaires like Jeff B/ezos.

Dianda would probably murder some people at mcdonalds so I'll be trapped in an elevator with her. She can teach me how to punch and I know the game says we can't escape but we can at least punch some holes in the walls.

Which leaves walther as my employee trainer at mcdonalds which, sure. He seems nice, I don't mind him having to teach me stuff, maybe we can do alchemy with fries.

Drawn in collaboration with CocoaPink Bath & Body, I design the characters, they make their perfume; and I've tried the one for 'Proud Queen', and it's brilliantly insane.  Her perfume is:  Foxgloves, opium poppies, bitter nightshade, green roses of hellebore, oleander's apricot notes, with a breath of raspberries, white chocolate, marshmallow, and warm white musk.

I'm confused and idk if this means that I did good or I'm being mocked.

(Did You Know her name comes from olive and not oleander? like thats a clever bit of misdirect for the english audience only unless the characters used in olive can also double as a poison pun!)

Hypothesis: What are the evolving capabilities of an artificial lesser elemental over time? What are the thresholds to its ability to shape its form? What are the thresholds of its power, as it grows with its summoner?

Notes:

2.14 - Received stone from Professor Khannfyrsyn, the subject appears in a shape mimicking Prof.’s fairy Poppy, except with small differences and a changing color pattern.

2.25 - Subject refuses name ‘Pyrope-Spessaratine’ or ‘Garnet’, has evolved communication skill--if rudimentary. Subject name changed to ‘Oleander’.

3.01 - Subject has changed its form for the first time, after being introduced to a krakul at a nearby farm. Appears to enjoy form more than fairy form, and remains krakul-shaped stubbornly.

3.12 - Subject introduced to a common field mouse and changed form. It appears to be able to modify its shape after changing; elongating its ears past the original’s, for example, or changing its color. It stayed as a mouse for several hours before eventually going back to Krakul.

3.14 - Subject goes back and forth from krakul to mouse throughout the day, rarely returning to the form of a fairy. 

3.18 - Subject introduced to Eastern Shroud Goobbue, and attempts to mimic. Lasts several seconds before subject snaps back into krakul form. Noticeable exhaustion occurs. Hypothesis: holding the shape of a large creature exerts too much energy, yet holding the shape of a krakul can be done seemingly without excess exertion. 

3.24 - Subject will not allow attempts to test prior hypothesis, no matter how much it is bribed with sugar cubes. Unethical attempts such as squeezing it like a pillow sometimes present a result, yet the forms are always at random and do not grow larger than, well, a pillow. Subject might be too poor in intelligence to realize the responsibilities placed on me by my teacher while he is away to further his research, and how important this all is! Subject also doesn’t listen to my commands as his summoner and just hiccups bubbles!

1. How tall are you?

5′5″

2. What color and style is your hair?

Natural dirty blonde. I dye it to about a level 8 blonde. My hair is currently to the top of my butt (which I love) but it’s so damaged from dying it that they’ll have to cut it to a medium length. I have a slight wave to it, but I don’t think it suits my face shape, so I either straighten it flat or do a blow out to smooth is all out.

3. What color are your eyes?

Blue. Gray blue.

4. Do you wear glasses?

No

5. Do you have braces?

No but I did for about 2 years. They took them off too early, one of my bottom teeth was never completely in line with the rest of them and then I decided not to wear my retainer (because I really appreciated all the money my parents shelled out on my teeth). So that fucked tooth moved back again. So maybe if I have the money in the future I’ll get invisalign for the bottom.

6. What is your fashion sense?  

I’m broke right now so I can’t afford my ideal style. Ideally, more mature goth. I feel best when I look put together. I like the quote “Dress everyday like you’re going to Jimi Hendrix’s funeral”. So sort of glam boho rocker goth. Other days I want to look really polished and chic. But in reality it’s the same 3 t-shirts and 1 pair of jeans. 

7. Do you have any siblings?

I’m an only child

8. What kind of student are you?

I was a pretty good student. About a B average. I was on the Dean’s List several times throughout college. I would have won whatever the lowest award is for your GPA when I graduated, but I started to get lazy, and I took too many “mental health days” off from my fashion class and I ended up getting a C. All my other grades were A’s and B’s so I fucked my GPA over -_-

I would get stressed out about workload sometimes. But I was usually pretty organized and I always found a way to get it done without waiting to the last minute. I was never much of a studier, though. Some people would be like “I spend hours studying!” and I was never like that. I’d study like 30 minutes tops over a period of days before exams and I’d do fine. 

9. What are your favorite subjects?

I graduated college in 2014. I loved art history, which I majored in. There were only 2 other people in the art history major in the entire school. I really cant understand how anyone, particularly art majors, don’t care about the stories behind the art. Since there were so few of us in the major, all our professors loved us and we’d have great discussions. When I went to pick up my last paper from my last art history class my professor handed it back to me and said that he was going to miss reading my papers and talking to me. I cried in the hallway outside. 

I also really loved anthropology. I would have switched majors to anthropology but figured there wasn’t a better chance of finding a job in the field after I graduated. Loved geeking out with my profs. my anthro classes also translated really well to my art history classes, so I felt like I really grew as a scholar.

And I’ve always loved history in general, psychology, and literature.

10. What are your favourite TV shows?

Mr. Robot (I missed this last season though), Black Mirror, Stranger Things, The Great British Baking Show, any special Lucy Worsley does, the IT Crowd, American Horror Story (but this last season was so horrible I gave up after 2 episodes). 11. Favorite books?

I love everything my Mary Roach, particularly Stiff, Spook, and Bonk. She’s very informative about a variety of topics but makes it all really funny and entertaining.

12. Favorite pastimes? I used to write a lot. Mostly poetry. I’m trying to get back into that. I’m trying to get back into piano too. Painting, drawing, and photography. I make a lot of beauty products like lotions and perfumes.

14. What is your dream job?

I want to do a lot of things. I want to teach art in some way. Either in a physical school or working in a museum. I’m thinking about starting a youtube channel where I talk about art history and contemporary art. I want to expose people to different styles of art and artists and inspire them to make art themselves, or to at least become curious. 

15. Do you want to get married?

In the sense that I want to find someone and settle down and raise a family and all that, yes. I used to be like “I definitely want to be officially married” but in the last year I’m less concerned with the official document of it. I’m not against it at all, but I’m not so concerned with it either. I’ll consider my partner my husband/wife/whatever. My ideal wedding has also gotten much simpler. It’s more about the relationship and the love than a piece of paper and a white dress for me. But I’d totally do it. 

16. Do you want to have kids and how many?  

I definitely want kids. I started picking out names when I was in friggin middle school lol. I want a lot but it’s up to how many my partner and I can afford to take care of. I want a house full of kids running around, totally. I was an only child and very lonely. I want at least 2. I also worry I might not be able to conceive or carry a child because my mom miscarried her other 2 pregnancies. I’m technically a middle child. I want to adopt and I wouldn’t be heartbroken if I could only adopt. I’d just kind of always wonder “Oh, I wonder what they would have looked like” or what traits they might have inherited from me or whatever. I’ll have kids one way or another. 

17. How many countries have you visited?

None. Never had the money. I’ve only been out of state twice! Growing up there was never any money or my dad couldn’t get time off for any vacations for years. Not a single one. I feel so stuck. I don’t want to die without traveling to at least a few places out of state or outside of the country.

The Mode of Transmission of Banana streak virus by Paracoccus burnerae (Homiptera, Planococcidae) Vector is Non-circulative | Chapter 01 | Recent Advances in Biological Research Vol. 3

The causative agent of banana streak disease (BSD) is Banana streak virus (BSV). In tropical countries such as Kenya, the virus causes considerable damage to the banana crop besides lowering banana production yields. Several mealy-bug species have been reported as vectors of BSV. The latent and retention time of the BSV in the oleander mealy-bug (Paracoccus burnerae) is however unknown. The latent and retention times of viruses in disease vectors are important characteristics in the determination of the mode of transmission of viruses by their vectors. The purpose of this study was to determine the latent and retention time of the BSV in its vector, P. burnerae. We employed both the Immuno-capture Polymerase Chain Reaction (IC-PCR) and Rolling Circle Amplification (RCA) techniques to select diseased and healthy plantlets for transmission trials. RCA assays were performed on the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples of viruliferous mealy-bug instars of P. burnerae and on the DNA of virus-inoculated plantlets. The findings of the study indicated that BSV has no latent period in P. burnerae during transmission at ambient conditions (9-30°C). However, the vector can retain and transmit BSV for a period of four days under ambient temperatures (9-30°). The results revealed that the vector P. burnerae, transmits BSV semi-persistently which is an indication of a non-circulative mode of transmission of the virus. The results of this study contribute to the elucidation of the mode of transmission of BSV by P. burnerae and impetus for the development of novel control strategies of BSD. Further studies are recommended to determine the specific BSV and vector proteins involved in the transmission process. Such studies have the potential to contribute to development of novel disease management strategies based on the use of viral genes that encode for proteins that are defective to prevent vector inoculation and successful transmission of BSV by its vectors. From our results, we also recommend further screening studies for banana plant encoding molecules (e.g. peptides) that are able to bind to cuticle protein receptors in the vector mouthparts which may provide innovative virus management strategies by interfering with the process of virus retention.
