BtoB went on Kingdom to keep Cube people from getting blacklisted? What do you mean?

there's a conspiracy theory how more senior groups didn't want to take part in kingdom, so mnet pulled the 'if you say no, everyone from your agency won't be able to appear on our channel'. probably that's why btob, after initially declining the offer, suddenly announced they will join the cast. monsta x rejected the offer, and for some reason all starship acts aren't appearing on mcountdown anymore. it's not confirmed but obviously something is going on... it would also explain the budget issues - the groups that "weren't informed about first stage budget increase by accident" are also the same groups that initially declined the offer to participate in kingdom... mnet also loves to misspell 'btob' on that condom show.

cube has not only ptg, jo kwon, seonho, clc and gidle but also lightsum will be debuting soon. eunkwang, as one of the directors in cube, probably decided they will do it for the sake of others. minhyuk is still under treatment for herniated discs, changsub got sick after 2nd stage and missed on like 4 episodes :/ they are too old for this lol

it wouldn't be the first time music shows pds show their power hungry side. how many idols got mistreated, stages were cut short etc because post music show taping they didn't greet pds "properly"? it's a mess. it takes hours to film an episode of a music show and rookies, usually spend half the day at broadcasting stations, as after taping their stage they have to stay for ending stage and later greet the staff. sbs already hates cube and every year btob was taking part in gayo, an "accident" would happen. i could go on honestly

Highlights of 2020

Top 10 shows

1. Cherry Magic

This. I was so not expecting to be so invested in this drama, but it quickly became one of my favorite dramas ever. It constantly gave me serotonin and it was so well executed too 😭 I absolutely adore Eiji's and Keita's acting, they did such a good job, that even if I watched without subs I could understand the characters’ emotions, they conveyed them so well! Amazing. Stunning. I love it so much😭❤️

2. The Untamed

I watched it bc my friend dared me to, but oh wow, it is worth all the praise I heard about it. I got so attached to the characters, it's truly an amazing show. And don't even get me started with Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo, bc– oh well, I just fell for this series bc how can you not. Can't believe I only got to watch it this year, I need to rewatch it soon too, I miss it ;-;

3. 2gether/Still2gether

I was so excited when I heard about it first coming out! I thought it would be a lot more of a fake dating au then it actually was BUT I enjoyed it a lot ❤️ Especially Still2gether was just pure fun to watch and I couldn't get enough of it. Plus, it got my creative juices to flow (even if I still haven't written much for recently, oh well)

4. Gameboys

This! The way the story was told using the pandemic as an opportunity for new type of storytelling rather than a limiting factor... Plus I liked it a lot and was low-key crying when they finally met ;u;

5. Where Your Eyes Linger

I miss Han Gichan every minute of my life, ngl. And I got to watch produce bc of him too, and here I am obsessed with K-pop now. Thanks Gichan. But the drama itself is just lovely, too short for my liking, but definitely played on my heartstrings ❤️

6. Pearl Next Door

I'm happy to see my girl Pearl have some time to shine! I'm so in love with Adrianna look at her she's so beautiful how This series can be a little silly at times, but I'm genuinely curious how it's gonna pan out. Also love me some good gl series, I don't have enough of it usually.

7. My Engineer

I started daydreaming about ramking recently and oh boy do I miss them. I know we're getting s2, but wHEN is the question. This was a cute series too, definitely wasn't expecting it to take over my life.

8. Life Senjou no Bokura

I've seen the drama and I've read the manga and you know, there's something about japanese bls that gets me. I adored the parts that they added in the drama so much and the story is so good ;u; This has the angst and the fluff and is kinda short but totally worth it!

9. He's Coming To Me

I genuinely think it's one of my favorite thai dramas ever. The plot isn't conventional and concept is intriguing as well. It made me fell in love with Singto, too~ 

10. Road to Kingdom

This... Is not a drama, and I hate mnet and I hate survival shows, and I hate that they made this a survival show (hopefully Kingdom won't be tho) but oh the performances. The performances were so good I couldn't stop watching. Idk if I'd recommend watching the whole thing bUT the performances are on yt so I recommend to check them out! (especially 'Danger' by tbz and 'Kill This Love' by ptg & onf ❤️)

Stan Talent, Stan Pentagon

So many reasons to stan Pentagon:

1. Self-Produced

They just have a ton of talented songwriters in here! Cube is popular for self-produced idols after all, like BtoB, another super talented group.

Hui is a composer-producer, not really a secret because he’s well-known as a genius as he also composed hit songs for other popular groups (such as Energetic by Wanna One)

Kino and Wooseok wrote a lot of songs in their albums too, including some of my favorites Spring Snow (Kino) and Nostalgia (Wooseok). Kino also wrote their special single Eternal Flame. Wooseok had a big contribution in writing my absolute favorite, Daisy (but mostly written by Hui), and honestly his songwriting talent seems to be underrated.

Jinho has also composed a few and helped write a lot. Yuto also composed songs (aside from his rap lines), one song being Camella that a lot of “unis” love. *Universe/Unis = fandom name

Both Kino and Yuto have their own soundclouds for the songs they write/produce.

Yeo One composed his own solo songs (yes, even as rookies, they were already composing), and they’re actually so good. 

Also, in general, they are so creative in their songs and performances. Example: their Road To Kingdom performances, and also their super fun b-sides like Round 1 and Round 2!

My personal favorites: Obviously the genius Hui, Wooseok (I love him so much!), and Kino (such a talented person)

2. Vocal Kings

Their main vocals (Hui and Jinho) are absolutely top-tier vocalists, two of the strongest ones in the kpop world (imo).

Jinho was LITERALLY a vocal coach of kpop stars. Incredible vocal range.

Their lead vocals Hongseok (actually now a main vocal) and Yeo One are potential main vocals! And their sub-vocals, Kino (honestly surprised he was a sub-vocal cause he’s waaaay too good to be sub!), Yan An and Shinwon, are on par or better than other groups’ lead vocals, imo.

Vocal kings of harmonization. I love it so much, they sound so good! They take after their sunbaes BtoB, the OG harmonization kings. (Song references: You Are, and Shine acapella version).

Wooseok and Yuto’s rap are also so good! Honestly, I go crazy sometimes, especially with Wooseok’s delivery.

Edit, random trivia: I actually found out Wooseok auditioned in Cube as a vocalist and a model. Thank God, he discovered his talent in rapping later on, because dang, this guy is SICK. His rap touches my heart. He is proof that the basis of what a good rapper is doesn’t need to be about how fast you can say your words.

My personal favorites: Hui, Jinho, and Yeo One (what a beautiful voice, and he’s so good and stable live, halp huhu, totally underrated), Wooseok’s rap (I’m a big fan, my eyes are filled with hearts)

3. Musical ability (in general) and Dance

Being composers/producers, they have a good understanding of music theory and techniques, especially for Hui (obviously, the genius), Jinho (as a vocal coach) and Kino (I think).

Musical Instruments: Almost all of them (except for Hongseok) plays musical instruments

Piano: Hui, Jinho, Kino, Shinwon - I have to make a special note here. These guys can really play. They’re not the type to say they play the piano but only press a few chords here and there a bit and sing a song. They play their keys!

Guitar: Yuto (he is really good! he posts electric guitar covers on Twitter), Wooseok, Jinho, Hui, Yeo One, Shinwon

Erhu (Chinese traditional instrument): Yan An - studied it for 10 years. Haha! This is so unique, I’ve never seen him play it, and it’s not exactly a useful instrument to have for kpop music, but I love it!

Edit: I also found out Wooseok can play the violin. Not only that, he’s won a violin competition.. I couldn’t believe it! Violin it’s such a hard instrument. It’s not easy to be good at violin, let alone win a violin competition. Wooseok really surprises me with the musical talent he has sometimes.

Dance: Quite obvious as a kpop idol group, even though admittedly they aren’t exactly the best as a whole group. 

But anyway, Kino is the main dancer. (Also known for being such a good dancer of girl group songs. Hihi cute)

Lead dancers: Hui, Yuto, Yeo One

Apparently, Kino is also the choreographer! I think he was the main choreographer for Daisy. (Don’t @ me, I’m not sure. But in general, yes, he does choreograph for the group.)

My personal favorites: Kino, Hui - this also includes stage presence.

4. Visuals

Their official visual is Yan An. (Pentagon is whipped for Yanan, btw.)

Other unofficial visuals, at least in my book: Yuto, Hongseok, Yeo One, Kino (but tbf, as a well-loved idol group, everyone becomes an unofficial visual)

Shinwon was actually a legit model before being an idol, and he became viral for being “the handsome part-timer” at a cafe Exo went to.

Men’s Health Korea models (YES, ACTUAL MEN’S HEALTH COVER BOYS aka gym freaks): Hongseok, Yeo One. *PS: I have a feeling Yuto will also be on there soon, one of these days

Let me just reiterate though that while Hongseok is known for his muscles, he more than his abs. He’s smart, funny, and talented, as you can see in this whole post. So yeah, basically, please don’t objectify him.

My personal favorites: Yuto (the reason why I checked Pentagon out in the first place! my heart went deugun deugun), Hongseok (what a great face, beautiful eyes), Yeo One (cutie), Kino (very very pretty face)

5. Other talents

Acting

Literally THREE of them are musical theatre actors, and all were actually the main characters in their respective musicals: Jinho (already a theatre sunbae), Hui and Yeo One. Honestly, this shows both acting skills and strong vocal ability. (Imagine the strong vocal ability of the lead vocal, in PTG, Yeo One, a main character of a musical. It gives you an idea of how good the vocal line up is.)

I think some of them had some acting in dramas, like Hongseok and Yeo One

Update: Yanan and Wooseok are also on dramas/will be on dramas now. That makes almost everybody in Pentagon (still waiting for Yuto and Shinwon) an actor.

Another update: Kino is now hosting his second podcast with Dive Studios! :)

Randoms

Hongseok, Jinho and Kino speaks three languages pretty comfortably: Hongseok/Jinho (Korean, English, Chinese), Kino (Korean, English, Japanese) ---not super fluent but able to have good conversations. And foreigners Yanan (Korean, Chinese), and Yuto (Korean, Japanese) are obviously fluent bilinguals.

Kino drew and painted the album art for WE:TH / daisy. He even gifted a painted version to Hui for his studio!

6. Personality

Let me start by saying Pentagon is a crazy group. They aren’t really kids but they are so chaotic. I love that they have no filter!

Even the leader, Hui, who’s not really young, is very chaotic! Hui is actually such a cutie pie. And also so funny, especially in their TMIs

Hongseok is so funny, so witty, and has absolutely no shame. I love it!

Shinwon is very witty, and is known to be the mood-maker of the group.

Yeo One is a little 4D. He’s like a messy kid and sometimes has his own world. :)) An absolute cutie!!!

Kino is the sweetest person ever! He never fails to tell Universe how much he appreciates us.

Jinho is known to be the kind and caring hyung they can depend on.

My personal favorites: Hongseok (hilarious and crazy, has me dying), Hui, Yeo One (ugghhhh super cute personality!), Kino also!!!

Overall: They have a bunch of all-rounders! (My personal favorite all-rounders: Hui, Kino, and Yeo One) They’re so talented and deserve a lot of recognition and support.

Hui is my bias and my ult, but I can’t decide who’s my next bias.

Update: I think Kino is my next bias, cause he’s just so good, so multi-talented! I can’t with this guy. I’m even considering adding him to my ult list.

But my gosh, Changgu is absolutely adorable. Wooseok talent. Huhu idk if second tier bias or...

***Not to be this obsessive OT10 fan, but I really like Dawn (formerly E’Dawn), so I’m writing his skills as well: Great composer (Shine, one of my faves huhu), such a great Rapper (he gets some amount of hate for his voice, but I actually really like it!), Main Dancer (what a good dancer tbh), and very unique personality. I love him, he’s so talented. (But anyway, even with him gone, Pentagon isn’t lacking! They’re still so great!)

Request: Writing fic for Pentagon Jinho with the prompts #3 “How oblivious can you be?” and 4# “this is the 3rd try at confessing.” (*ﾉ∀`*) . if ur free and all. thank you!

~of course! Sorry this took me so long but I got it done now finally, I put a lot of effort in it which is why it took so long💓

Prompts: #3 "how oblivious can you be?" & #4 "this is the 3rd try at confessing"

Synposis: Going to the dorms to hangout with ptg will be normal like usual, right?

Pairing: Jinho x reader

Jinho had tried 2 different times already to confess to you, once at the mall.

"y/n I have something to tell you." He said as his hands started to get clamy.

"what would that be?" You said with a smile leaving him breathless, he looked at you and was really to pour his heart out to you but then you saw a old friend of yours that you got distracted by so he decided to save it for another time. The second time it went south since you where both hanging out at the park, he started to gain courage and took you by the hand and asked,

"will you go out with me?" He squeezed your hand heat running to his cheeks. You smiled and giggled.

"where to? Whe're already at the park where would we go?" You ask obviously oblivious to what he act asked and so he settled on talking you to the ice cream parlor down the street and questioned if he'd ever gain the courage again. This time will be different though, he had planned it out perfectly all he has to do is gain the confidence and tell you tonight when you come to the dorms to hang with him and the others. He confided in the members a lot if he should do it and all of them said yes. (I mean that was because all of them had a good feeling you liked him back but that's besides the point.) Him and the members got the house ready for your arrival in 30 minutes. He hyped himself up 3rd time, deciding he'll do it at the end of the night when you walk home so if it goes wrong you'll both be able to leave the situation quick.

Fast forward to you getting to the dorms, you where greeted by a very loud and happy Wooseok, he pulled you into a big bear hug which made you smile. You then walked through the door way and said hello to Yeoone and had a small conversation since everyone was choosing what game to play, the way you smiled at Yeoone made Jinho's heart burst he would love to make you smile like that and he knows he could if he just had a little more courage. Jinho soon walked up and joined both of you two in a conversation. While you all talked the others decided on Mario Kart to play and you could quickly tell by them screaming. Yuto and Wooseok made a alliance and Hui was just loosing it, you couldn't stop laughing at how funny it was. The night kept going and everything played more games, no one checking the time enough to realize it was already 11 PM. Everyone was talking and a lot of them where whispering to Jinho and him hitting them which got you very confused, you checked the time and it hit you that it was 11 at night.

"guys I made a mistake,,," you said with nervousness in your voice causing panic to ensue throughout the boys.

"oh no, what's wrong?"

"is everything okay?"

"what mistake?"

"what's going on?" All of them talked over eachother in concern not letting you finish yourself.

"it's nothing too bad don't worry, Its just 11 at night I don't think it's safe for me to walk home,," you said with concern still in your voice.

"stay the night. You can leave tomorrow when it's bright out and safe, you can sleep on the couch or one of us can volunteer our bed." Hui said immediately, everyone agreeing.

"why not Jinho's room, he'd probably give it gladly" Hongseok said with a joking tone.

"oh yeah definitely" Kino said elbowing Jinho, you where confused but they all kept joking on it.

"No. Sleep on my bed I'll sleep on the floor or the couch don't worry." Jinho said smiling.

"No you really don't have too! It's fine I can sleep on the couch." You said putting your hand on his shoulder.

"no-no my bed is way more comfy than the couch and it's your first time sleeping at our dorm I think we all agree we want you to be the most comfortable."

"okay okay, but please make sure you're sleeping right since couches aren't always the best,," you said since you knew the amount you'd try to fight it the difference wouldn't matter because Jinho would stick to his thought and not let go of it. You said goodnight to the rest of the members and Jinho lead you to his room, he made his bed and grabbed a spare blanket and started walking out the door but you realized you didn't have a change in clothes.

"Uh,, Jinho" you said very quietly he almost didn't hear it. He turned around and looked at you wanting you to continue your words.

"can I borrow a shirt? This one isn't that comfortable to sleep in,," you said blushing incredibly, causing his ears to go red.

"uh,, yeah uh, right over there in that dresser grab whatever shirt you want" he said, walking out the door starting to set up the couch to sleep on. You changed into his shirt and had butterflies hit your stomach no matter the amount you try to compress your feelings for Jinho, you laid in in Jinho's bed feeling a little weird but you turned to the wall and closed your eyes. Jinho realized he didn't have a pillow to sleep on so he went back to his room, but realized you had called asleep when he opened the door. Shinwon walked up to Jinho at the door way.

"so when are you gonna confess to y/n?"

"I am going to try for tomorrow before y/n leaves, I was going to ask y/n when leaving to walk home so if it went bad but I got sweaty at the hands when choosing what bed to sleep in was decided." Jinho and Shinwon continued to talk about the matter at the door way, not realizing you where awake by you being turned to the wall but your head was spinning.

"well good luck tomorrow" Shinwon said patting him on the shoulder and heading to his room. Jinho walked into the room to sneak out a pillow from the bed, he smiled looking at you.

"gosh you'll be the death of me y/n" he said with a little laugh at the end.

"do you really like me?" You said not facing him yet, causing him to freeze. The alarm in his face was obvious but you couldn't see it.

"oh wow,, you heard that?,,, Well no point in lying especially since I was going to get the courage for this tomorrow, yes I like you I have tried asking your out 2 times already but this is the 3rd time now." He said with a anxious laugh

"oh my God,, 3 trys?? When??" You'd said turning to him.

"well the most notable was at the park when I asked if your wanted to go out with me and you thought I meant to a different location." He said laughing once more

"oh my god,,, I really thought you where just asking if I wanted to go to the ice cream parlor" you said hitting yourself in the head, Jinho quickly grabbed your arm and took your hand in his.

"it's fine but ugh how oblivious can you be?" He said, squeezing your hand realizing what he had to say.

"okay this is the 3rd try at confessing so how do you feel? Do I have a chance?" He said nervousness in his voice.

"Absolutely, I have liked you for so long and compressed those feelings for so long,,, want to come into the bed and sleep? We can cuddle" you said laughing, tugging him to lay down next to you as he smiled.

"I'll take that offer gladly" he said wrapping his arms around your waist.

Hey uh I'm about to write the sappiest, greasiest post in existence so uh skip if you dont want to read lol

Anyways so, for almost 4 years straight i would make a wish at 11:11 pm every night. And while my wishes would change, there is one thing that I would consistently wish for. And that thing was to meet my soulmate. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart and I really do believe in soulmates but I dont think we are necessarily limited to one -and I dont think its limited to romantic soulmates either.

For a really long time, I didn't have many close friends at all. I didn't have anyone to talk to, anyone to give my love to, anyone to support and be supported by. I was really lonely for a long long time. I was bitter about it at times and mad about it at times and really really sad about it almost all the time. But you know I decided to start living my life and acting the way that I wanted to be loved. I told myself, if no one else will do it for me I'll do it for myself and for others. I decided to try my very best to put all the love i wanted to receive out into the world. It isn't easy by any means, and oftentimes i still struggle with loving myself and expressing myself. But I still wanted to try my hardest. And I would keep making those wishes at 11:11. I would wish so desperately to have people in my life that i could love and support and encourage -and just maybe they'd do the same for me. And you know what, I met those people eventually.

@moongaera @jenojam @closer-stars @lovely-ptg @atiny-ahgase and so many other people I met and interacted with here. All these people came into my life suddenly and they each were so sweet and so kind and all their presences were so comforting in such an innate and inexplicable way. And even though I've only known each of these people for short amounts of time, it feels just a little bit like I've known them for far longer. I'm not saying that I'll know these people forever or that we'll always keep in touch (though I'd like to) -and I dont wanna sound weird or creepy. But what I am saying -or rather what I would like to say- is thank you. To each of those people I've mentioned above (and to those I didn't mention) -thank you for being your authentic selves. Thank you for being kind. Thank you for being so caring and encouraging. Thank you for talking to me about random stuff and for sending me wholesome memes and videos and for talking about your interests with me and for sharing even some small part of your life with me. Thank you for letting me love you as my friends.

Id like to think that something or maybe someone out there was listening to that wish that I made for all those years and it sent you all my way. That wish, it came true because of all of you. So thank you very much.

RTK Round 1 (EP2/3) Evaluation:

ONEUS: I find it amazing that they chose such a difficult and serious message to convey. However the performance was a bit too messy in my eyes, for me there was too much going on and I partly didn't even get what exactly happened, so I'm unfortunately again not convinced of their performance ... Which is irritating because I usually love their performances (of their own songs) a lot.

TOO: Bruh that was great. The choreo seemed super strong, I really loved the team moves. But what I truly found the most impressive are their vocals here. The song choice was on point af because it showcased their vocal and dance skills. In general it had some really epic vibe to it, especially these sun-themed dance moves were absolutely stunning.

VERIVERY: So they srly did an "adult" version of mansae, that came unexpected. I liked how they transferred the boyish lovely concept to some uniform navy concept. Also they added such cool catchy scene with Kangmin. However I think they could have chosen another SVT song to better showcase their dancing skills (like clap or very nice). Also their usually great vocals weren't rly showcased either...So yeah, it was a nice stage, but sorta underwhelming for me.

Golcha: I was a bit sceptical before bcos I'm not so fond of the song, but dude that was amazing. It had sth ethereal and really calming, their performance definitely stood out a lot because the theme was not "in your face", but rather consumed the viewer with each second passing. It had sort of a majestic vibe and that was definitely unique.

ONF: HOLY SHIT. That was so dope. The mysterious and dark rearrangement in the first half of the performance, the outfits, singing, dance, everything was great. It also didn't feel too long (I felt other perfs were too long), it was just absolutely on point and I enjoyed this stage a whole lot.

Regarding only these 5 I've seen so far (I added the others below), TOO, Golcha and ONF were absolutely amazing. Also on a sidenote, it's incredible what TOO pulled off there, considering that they just debuted weeks ago. My reaction at them be like:

Pentagon: I found it cool af that they chose a rather unconventional group as their king of kpop, I felt pretty nostalgic right there. However for my personal taste that rearrangement was a bit too loud and too much. I rly liked their acting and expressions, that was very strong, but the choreo was kinda underwhelming. I felt like everything was a bit too focused on the acting stuff.

The Boyz: Ambitious song choice tho. What I found strange about this performance, was that it was rather a ... "stunt show" with risky athletic moves than a music performance. I mean, it definitely was stunning, but for me that theatrical musical show elements were a bit too much. Maybe I'm too oldschool for this hahahaha but somehow it wasn't my cup of tea. I found it good tho. But for my personal taste not as good as others. If I had seen this in another context, MAMA or KCON for example, I'd loved it. But in that context here I found it a bit over the top.

So my personal overall ranking for this round would be: 1. GolCha - 2. TOO - 3. ONF - 4. THE BOYZ - 5. PTG - 6. VERIVERY - 7. ONEUS

but before i log out again my paranoid/pessimist brain has some more thoughts i want to share. this is based on severe overthinking, a lot of guessing, and i could be (and hope i am) wrong about everything. if anyone has any thoughts please share, because i feel like i’m going a little bit insane.

1. im pretty sure the reason cube sends pitigi to all this random festivals is so no one tries to terminate their contract early clc style, because blue box can argue that they as a company fulfilled their part and supported them throughout the entire 7 years career. performing at festivals is part of being musicians, right?! who cares that we’re letting thousands of songs rot in the vault?!

its easy for them, they probably often dont even organize transportation, they dont need to hold any of the responsibilities if they were touring. the company can just rake in some cash while pitigi rearrange their songs and choreographies for whatever the lineup of the month is and, like, the members, the closest stylists, managers and festival staff do all the work while the company can save money. (bp and bg had cashgrab tours why couldnt we get one!!!!!! i know its because the company is lazy and budgets in their own way but its still pissing me off)

2. how is it not...illegal...or at least frowned upon for them to just straight up lie and shittalk the group?

obviously success is relative and depends on what you consider most important, but, yet again, if we’re talking overall success and stability, late 2020-2021 was pitigi’s strongest era. the fanbase was the biggest, the highest total album sales were achieved, they did good (for a bg that debuted after 2015) on kcharts... but cube’s just going to pretend nothing notable happened after 2018 now, and get away with it? actually, since cube is so into album sales without realizing that semi-frequent comebacks are a necessity for keeping a fandom alive, i’m just going to throw out the fact that the most recent album, in:vite u, had their highest first week sales ever, thus highest preorders and biggest fandom size willing to preorder.

i don’t doubt that hui honestly feels invisible or rejected, but are we really going to let cube get away with acting like thats the natural cycle of the industry, and not a very deliberate decision on their part? the company is the only reason there was no comeback when the fandom was at its biggest ever in the summer of 2021. the company forced them to release feelin like agaisnt their will, made them promote it at the worst time in a really rushed, weird way, and then act like “oh, their time is just past them”. they even passed the company’s stupid test of getting a music show win when all music shows are canceled, so for months they worked so hard (links to a video compiling moments they teased AND CUBE ANNOUNCED a second ptg comeback in 2022) on a comeback it now feels like we’ll never hear. the members did their part in preparing the songs, seemingly the concept too, but when it’s time for the company to do something they cancel it for...an mnet survival show?

to me this feels like deliberate attempts at sabotaging their future career prospects out of the company, and, while i’ve seen other companies do it before, these pure lies being spoonfed to everyone anhd just being eaten up really amazes me. how can they get away with that?

3. re:invisibility and rejection. it’s clearly not to the point where they can’t come back, no matter what people say, they’re working with their usual producers, the feelin like choreo team (auspicious) worked with them when they did worse, and work with smaller artists, sane for stylists. music video directors seem to care more about how much they get paid than fame of the artists. it feels silly to even mention this because in the past 3-4 years of their career ptg have always been near the end on music shows; they’re clearly seen as a bigger name there. they’ve also kept going to random non-comeback related variety shows, like three special weekly idol episodes in 2022, random dingo shows, some new variety show that’ll air this month or next, a lot of radio shows big and small, singing shows of different scales, brand ambassadorships. none of this is huge, but, tbh, they’ve never been on the biggest variety shows anyway, so why would that be an obstacle this time? they were the 7th most booked idol group of 2022 and attended big end of year shows too... seriously... it’s not like they’re only doing random gigs here and there that anyone could be booked for.

4. this is very heavy guessing i could be even more wrong about than anything ive written above. we all know hui was super rushed into boys planet, auditioning a week after coming back (and if we’re humoring more of my shots in the dark, the idea could have been introduced about 3-4 days after him coming back), and from the way he talks on that show + one of his vlives, it sounds like the company really has been lying to him too, making him think all fans have left, and, yeah, sns interactions have gone down (because feelin like didnt attract new fans, some old fans went inactive bc they dislike it, and now its been a year since) i dont remember his exact phrasing, but hui went, like “thank you all for still being here and commenting and clicking the hearts”, and i remember him almost sounding surprised... but what i was going to say was that i wonder if they made him audition with him/the members still thinking they’d let the group come back if he achieved a satisfactory result. i’m basing this on hui’s “rather thank rank, it’s about proving” bio, choosing “just do it yo!!” as his favorite song, and shinwon saying every member’s decision was made “because we love pentagon so much” (30 dec 2022), as well as jinho in his seasons greetings message saying “in 2023, we’ll do what we couldn’t in 2022″ (november 2022, but likely to be after the boys planet participation was decided), shinwon and kino both saying pentagon will come back in 2023 (30 december 2022) and kino on his birthday asking universe to look out for pentagon in 2023 too (27 january 2023). however, based on yuto’s recent instagram live, it sounds as if the boys planet thing is just a hui thing, and like there are few group schedules planned in the future (imo, looking at it pessimistically), (11 february 2023). this makes me think that the company might have initially said they’ll just postpone the comeback, but now, maybe after the reception of their well-crafted mnet script, they’ve decided to cancel it for real. i also wonder if we’ll actually get any serious japanese promo, like CUBE ANNOUNCED (again!) was the plan for 2023, or just a random snow show. (i’ll take it though).

this is barely coherent, but i really just feel so angry, sad, and tired for them. is one stinky mnet survival show really this much more important than 10 years of the lives of, and the future livelihoods of 9 people, who weren’t even doing that badly for themselves, but now everyone will think they did...
