It starts with sorry
Vox slips up, he finally finds himself confessing after all these years of rivalry. But, It starts with sorry, doesn't it?
Chapter 1: Love me dead (WIP)
"I gave you SO MUCH" Vox shouted in the other man's direction, an uncontrollable amount of rage coursing within him as he balled his fist and lunged at him, only just missing as Alastor dodged his attack with a well timed sidestep.
Why was he feeling this anger, this rage? What was the reason behind all these emotions? He felt so enraged, so betrayed. Even after all these years, these feelings refused to leave him.
"You gave me nothing." Alastor bit back with a cold expression, eyes narrowing as he sent a tendril towards Vox, only for the TV demon to teleport out of the way. "Nothing?" Vox practically chuckled out, "NOTHING?!" He repeated, his tone turning twisted and violent, "I gave up everything for you! I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING!" He shouted, his voice glitching and full of emotion as he brought his hands to his chest. "I..did everything i could for you, Alastor." Vox said, his voice threatening to break, "But that.." he chuckled, "that was never enough for you, was it?" Vox asked, looking up to meet the other man's gaze, his expression slightly crazed.
Nothing. Alastor said nothing, standing there with an unreadable expression; his smile remained plastered on his face, his eyes were staring coldly into Vox's, his hands were balled into fists. It was like he wanted to say something, but was holding himself back.
"It wasn't, was it?!" Vox snapped, grabbing hold of Alastor's jacket, "WAS IT?" He exclaimed angrily in hopes to get a response, but still, there was no reply.
For a brief moment, there was silence. Though for the few seconds it lasted, it felt like minutes, hours even! It was ample time to collect himself, to think over things, yet he didn't. He couldn't. All he could feel was this anger, this burning rage as he looked into the eyes of a man he once loved, once cared for. For a split second, Vox's gaze almost softened, his eyes widening as they searched Alastor's face.

Hiiii! This is a little WIP I decided to post ^^
Lastly, I'd like to apologise for this being out of character and poorly written, this is a WIP and will mostly be better once I've edited everything. I am very sorry, I am not the best at writing 🥲
I really hope you enjoyed what I have so far! despite this being rather crappy and bad, I do hope you somewhat liked it.
This is an au created by me and my wonderful friend (@culssi) She is extremely talented, especially when it comes to art, so please do check out her amazing work!
I did all of the writing, though I couldn't have done it without my friend and her miraculous ideas.

RFTVS, is an AU where Alastor and Vox become friends once more, slowly pushing aside their differences and past hatred for eachother, but, Vox still can’t push past his feelings for Alastor. And that brings me to the next thing, radiosilence. Radiosilence is the one-sided version of radiostatic, and it is the main ship, if you could call it that, in our AU.
I, (@culssi), helped @llserenell with creating this au. @llserenell does the writing, with the exception of me sharing some ideas, and it is posted on ao3.
I will do art and we will answer your asks :)

Things we allow!
All asks are allowed as long as they are respectful. Ask anything you want.
We allow criticism as long as you keep it kind.
We would absolutely LOVE fanarts and even fanfics about our au. We don’t mind as long as you credit us and @llserenell ‘s writing.

Love me dead:
“I gave you SO MUCH" Vox shouted in the other man's direction, an uncontrollable amount of rage coursing within him as he balled his fist and lunged at him, only just missing as Alastor dodged his attack with a well timed sidestep.
For a split second, Vox's gaze almost softened, his eyes wide as they searched Alastor's face.
“You..." Vox peered into Alastor's eyes, hoping to find a trace of regret, dreading to be heartbroken once more, but there was only a chilling, disdainful glare. "You never really cared for me," he realized, his voice betraying confusion, almost transforming the assertion into a plea for affirmation. "Did you?" he added, a bitter chuckle escaping him as he noticed Alastor's gaze soften slightly.
Electricity sparked from his hands, nails digging into his palms enough to draw blood. "After everything I did for you..." his voice was low, spoken through gritted teeth. "You NEVER CARED!!!" Vox glitched out, a hot pink substance leaking down his screen, eye spiraling as he lunged for Alastor, pinning him to the floor.
Looking down at Alastor, seeing him in such a frustrated state, pinned down like this, it filled Vox with pride, an overwhelming heat rushing down to his groin.
“Fuck, you little bitch…” Vox breathed out, chuckling as he wrapped his hands around Alastor’s neck, slowly digging his claws in.
“You never meant anything to me,” Alastor growled, struggling to get him off, eyebrows knitting together with annoyance. “You ARE nothing.”
Static emitted from his screen, glitching and buffering, his face growing cold as he bared his teeth, raising his fist in a blind fit of rage. "YOU FU-FU-FŲCK-CKING PRICK!!" Vox shouted, delivering hard blows to Alastor’s face repeatedly, immediately feeling a rush of satisfaction wash over him.
He loved the sadistic pleasure he derived from it, yet at the same time, he hated how much he enjoyed it—inflicting pain on someone he once cared for, someone he still cares for. But this rage, this hatred, still coursed through him.
“YOU MEANT THE WORLD TO ME!" His voice was filled with raw emotion, his anger escalating with each word.
Hands grabbed hold of Alastor’s jacket, hoisting him up to meet Vox’s enraged gaze, “YOU MEANT E-ÊVERY-EVERYTHING TO ME!” Vox screamed in Alastor’s face, bringing him to his feet and slamming him into a nearby wall. The only thing keeping him up were Vox’s hands, which digged painfully deep into his arms.
His vision looked blurred, and he could feel the blood trickling down his face. His eyes widened and filled with panic as he was met with bright monitors staring down at him, giant claws digging through his sleeves and into his skin. “I LOVED YOU, ALASTOR!!” Vox shouted, “Vox-“ Alastor spoke with a shaky voice, a cough following shortly after, “I LOVE YOU!!” Vox interrupted, breathing heavily, slowly shifting out of his demon form, his grip on Alastor’s arms loosening as he came to a realisation.
He messed up.

Friday Special #5
December 4th, 2020
Welcome back to another Friday Special!
For this week, we’ll be looking into a console that has touted as SEGA’s last hurrah in the video game console market before becoming a third-party developer.
For this week, we will be going into the SEGA Dreamcast!
Tumblr media
So what exactly was it?
So to start things off, the Dreamcast was SEGA’s last major console before becoming a third-party developer. It was part of the sixth generation of consoles released around that time, having to go up against Sony’s Playstation 2, Microsoft’s XBox, and Nintendo’s Gamecube, despite the fact that it preceded all of them.
(Considering that the Playstation 2 would end up being the best-selling video game console of all time, that’s some heavy competition.)
So let’s start with the production history.
After the failure of the Saturn console (problems arose due to really complicated hardware design and limited third-party support as the released of the iconic Nintendo 64 releasing the following year) back in 1995, SEGA needed to get back in the game since their reputation was on the line with not only Nintendo but with newcomer Sony too. Microsoft would eventually join the party but that wouldn’t be for a few years down the line.
So in a last pitch effort to save themselves and whatever piece of the console market pie they could salvage, SEGA released the Dreamcast on November 27, 1998 in Japan before eventually releasing in North America, Brazil, all of Europe and even India, and it lasted from 1998 until 2001 when support discontinued with the console along with SEGA’s decision to leave the console market.
The Dreamcast was created with “off-the-shelf” components like Hitachi SH-4 CPU and an NEC PowerVR2 GPU (the latest at the time for graphics) meant to bring down costs and to avoid creating a console too complex that it scared off development teams from creating games for it (another problem that the Saturn had). It was even the very first console to utilize the internet for online gaming thanks to the power of Microsoft CE way before Microsoft joined the console race with the original XBox in 2001. Its library was impressive with innovative titles like Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue and it even saw Sonic the Hedgehog’s leap into 3D with Sonic Adventure. Because of this, the console was considered by many gamers and critics to ahead of its time. It sold well in the Japanese markets and it was a massive success in North America, where the original price was $199 ($317.90 in 2020).
Here’s a video for all of the commercials that aired for the console
youtube
So what happened?
First, when the console was released in Japan, the launch there was first marred by the shortage of PowerVR chipsets which had a high failure rate. Then when the console was released only one of the four launch titles for the system, Virtua Fighter 3, sold well. The oddball title Seaman, alongside Namco’s Soul Caliber and the price reduction to ¥19,000 from ¥29,000, actually helped keep the console afloat in Japan. In total, 990,000 Dreamcast units were sold in Japan.
In the United States, the Dreamcast sold out overnight with 225,132 Dreamcast units sold in 24 hours, garnering $98.4 million in that day alone. Sales continued to soar to 500,000 two weeks later. However, the American released also saw its fair share of problems. Another blow to the console was when EA (yep, that EA), withdrew their support for SEGA by refusing to make games for the Dreamcast after the Saturn debacle and SEGA refusing to allow EA to be the only sports brand. This was especially a big deal because EA at the time was the largest third-party video game publisher and losing that support was brutal for SEGA. To combat this, they teamed up with other developers/publishers like Midway for games to be released for the console (there were fourteen launch titles in the North America launch. Fourteen.) In total, over 1 million Dreamcast units were sold.
Over in Europe, the Dreamcast also did well by also selling 1 million units. It was marketed at GB£200 and part of the marketing campaign for the console was sponsored by four European football clubs, which were Arsenal F.C. (England), AS Saint-Étienne (France), U.C. Sampdoria (Italy), and Deportivo de La Coruña (Spain).
Although it held up to 31 percent of the market share, Sony held onto 60 percent thanks to the success of the PS1 and the upcoming hype and release of the PS2.
The PS2 had the following:
More raw polygons than any other console in history thanks to its own CPU at 294 MHz and estimated 7.5 million[80] to 16 million polygons per second
DVD-ROM (compared to Dreamcast’s weaker GD-ROM)
Backwards compatibility with hundreds of PS1 games
Ability to play both games and movies
All at $299 ($452.13 in 2020)
With the Gamecube and XBox still unreleased, the Dreamcast was left to its own devices against the behemoth PS2.
So what edge could the Dreamcast have?
Remember when I said that “it was even the very first console to utilize the internet for online gaming thanks to the power of Microsoft CE”?
Say hello to SegaNet.
The internet gaming service SegaNet was online on September 7th 2000, and it changed the entire industry by not only promoting online gaming but players could also surf the internet, chat with friends and send emails. At the subscription fee of $21.49 per month ($32.50 in 2020), the world of the internet was at the touch of your keyboard and mouse. Games that thrived on this new platform included Quake III Arena and Chu Chu Rocket to name a few and for the first time, you could play with friends across the internet. The service was so popular that it managed to last until 2003 when the servers for Phantasy Star Online and Online Vers. 2 were shut down. It was rumored that until a few years ago, you could still surf the internet with the console.
So how did it all end?
Despite everything to keep it afloat, the Dreamcast was officially discontinued on March 31, 2001 world-wide.
A shift in command took place as Isao Okawa took over the role of CEO from  Shoichiro Irimajiri in 2000. Okawa had greatly expressed his desire for the company to exit the console market and there were similar sentiments that were shared among the staff. After discussions with the higher-ups, SEGA, through Peter Moore (then-president of SEGA of America) announced in January of 2001 that the Dreamcast would be discontinued on March 31, 2001 world-wide and that SEGA would officially restructure the company into a third-party developer and publisher. During the restructuring, one-third of the company’s workforce was laid off as SEGA continued to struggle during the transition. SEGA did eventually recover thanks to Okawa, before his death, forgave the debts that the company owned to him and even returned his $695 million worth of SEGA and CSK stock back to SEGA, and the company now focusing strictly on software. Its comeback was viewed positively and as a result, helped build the reputation of being a high-quality gaming developer and publisher.
So long story short, what killed the Dreamcast?
Hype and release for the PS2
Lack of support from EA and Squaresoft
Disagreements amongst SEGA executives about the company’s future
Okawa’s lack of commitment to the console
Despite its many misgivings, the Dreamcast was, and still is, fondly remembered by many players who for many had their first exposure to 3D Sonic or fighting classics like Soul Caliber. With built-in internet and an impressively massive library, the Dreamcast was ahead of its time and it will truly stand as a testament to SEGA’s legacy in the final years of console developer.
Tumblr media
Thoughts From The Head
As odd as the system was at times (the controller design definitely being questionable), it certainly still has its charm and it’s honestly one of my favorite consoles I currently own. From classics like Space Channel 5 to Sonic Adventure, this console has a game for practically every single genre out there. With its beautiful graphics and high-definition sound, the Dreamcast is definitely worth checking out and they’re not too expensive on eBay if you decide to look for one (they’re usually within the $30 to $60 range which isn’t bad for an older console).
Oh Dreamcast, you tried so hard but you could not land harder if you tried.

When I listen to my car radio, certain songs always remind me of certain characters. They’re not always characters I roleplay, but I’d better stick to the ones I have blogs for here. I’m going to combine all my characters in one post so you don’t have to hunt through all my blogs.
Kimimaro: @kimimarothechosenvessel
Boats and Birds
I first heard this song online rather than on the radio, but from the first listen it has always embodied Kimimaro for me. The vocals remind me of the childlike innocence that made it so easy for Orochimaru to manipulate him. The swaying accompaniment is gentle, yet it carries a foreboding undertone–this submissive soul will pour himself out until it leads to his doom.
“If you’ll be my star I’ll be your sky You can hide underneath me and come out at night When I turn jet black And you show off your light I live to let you shine I live to let you shine But you can skyrocket away from me And never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by.”
Unfortunately for Kimimaro, Orochimaru did “find another galaxy:” Sasuke. But Kimimaro was still content as long as he could still find a way to be of use, because then his existence would have purpose again.
Hayate: @selenophilephile
Photograph
Hayate is my most well-adjusted character, at least while he’s alive. Around four years younger than his classmates and battling a chronic illness, he still managed to become a tokubetsu jounin (swordsmanship specialist) and spy with his transparency jutsu. Unfortunately, he is most remembered for dying at Baki’s hand while on the way to warn the Hokage about the impending Konoha Crush.
In a beautiful and heartbreaking filler episode, Kabuto revives Hayate with Edo Tensei and forces him to fight his former allies. Hayate eventually encounters his lover, Yugao, and begs her to stop him by killing him again. With great difficulty, she does it, but not before he reassures her that the vows they made to each other weren’t a mistake, even if it ended up this way. (If you haven’t seen this scene, you’re really missing out.)
“Photograph” reminds me of Hayate because Yugao is shown looking at an old picture of them together, and because the music reflects his gentle, steady nature. The refrain even sounds like something Edo Hayate would have told Yugao if he’d had more time:
“You can fit me Inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen Next to your heartbeat where I should be Keep it deep within your soul
And if you hurt me Well, that’s okay baby, only words bleed Inside these pages, you just hold me And I won’t ever let you go .”
Tomomi: @mama-gekkou
So Brave
Tomomi is my only original character on Tumblr. I’ve hardly done anything with her, mostly because her headspace is so dark. She’s a civilian who grew up completely unaffiliated with shinobi culture. Then she fell in love with a shinobi and moved to Konoha when she married him. They had a son: Hayate. You can see where this is going.
Hayate was sick his whole life, and Tomomi did not want him to be a shinobi. Even if he could manage it, she hated seeing him suffer, and she hated that he was in danger so often. But Hayate idolized his shinobi father and became determined to follow in his footsteps. When her son was killed, Tomomi couldn’t help seething with resentment towards her village and her husband. In the world she came from, little boys weren’t encouraged to risk their lives in battle. If Konoha hadn’t made that look so attractive, and if his father hadn’t encouraged Hayate’s ambitions so much, he would still be alive.
I had to look for a song for Tomomi, but I ended up finding a little-known ballad an American woman wrote about her son, who unexpectedly decided to join the Army.
“I remember when you learned to walk, I remember when you learned to talk, But I can’t remember when You learned to be so brave.”
Shin: @saisbrothershin
Renegades
Shin is the boy who was raised in ROOT with Sai as brothers. Sai didn’t even have a name yet–he only received “Sai” for his mission with Team 7–but Shin held onto the name from his former life. He even managed to hang onto his personality, despite Danzo’s brainwashing the ROOT operatives to have no names, feelings, or identities. But Shin cared more about his brother than about ROOT, and I think this song perfectly captures his optimism and detemination to find a better life for his brother and himself. Also, the blog title “Two Kids, You and Me” comes from this song.
“All hail the underdogs All hail the new kids All hail the outlaws Spielbergs and Kubricks It’s our time to make a move It’s our time to make amends It’s our time to break the rules Let’s begin
And I say hey, hey hey hey, Living like we’re renegades Hey hey hey, Hey hey hey, Living like we’re renegades Renegades, renegades”
Heathens
This is the other song that always reminds me of Shin. Towards the end of his short life, his ebullient spirit was broken by ROOT’s brainwashing, the guilt of unethical secret missions, and a terminal illness. The only thing keeping him alive was the hope of losing to his brother in their forced battle to the death. When Sai remembers Shin’s death, we see someone bitter and despairing. “You must kill your emotions, or else duty will destroy you,” Shin tells Sai, as if speaking from experience. In my verse with @shadows-of-shimura , the last straw for Shin was severe physical abuse at Danzo’s hand for breaking a very minor ROOT regulation in order to save his brother’s life. This whole song could be a look inside the desolate, isolated world of ROOT:
“Welcome to the room of people Who have rooms of people that they loved one day Docked away Just because we check the guns at the door Doesn’t mean our brains will change from hand grenades
[…] All my friends are heathens, take it slow Wait for them to ask you who you know Please don’t make any sudden moves You don’t know the half of the abuse.”
Yukimaru: @yukimaruthecinnamonroll
Yukimaru, the sweet child who forgave his mother’s murderer and even let her adopt him, is so precocious that he has his own theme. That he played himself. On a leaf flute. Look at this kid.
It’s called “Guren” after Yukimaru’s repentant adoptive mother, but it’s Yukimaru who plays this music during the story. His dead mother taught it to him, and it expresses the bereft child’s longing for a home and a family, or even just “someone to think about me.” Even though Yukimaru and Guren were filler characters, their theme became a mainstay of the Naruto OST.
Lullaby for a Stormy Night
Yukimaru is a little boy who saw his mother and his whole village killed, was captured and experimented on by Orochimaru and Kabuto, was forced to control the Three-Tails despite it nearly killing him, and then learned that his newfound protector was the one who murdered his mother and everyone he loved–and he still retains the joy and innocence of childhood. If any character deserves a happy ending, it’s Yukimaru. Thank goodness he got one. This utterly nostalgic song perfectly portrays the bond between Guren and Yukimaru. It evokes childhood so much that I ugly cried when @amethystamazon sent it to me. Best of all, the scared child sings with the mother at the end:
“And I hope that you’ll know That nature is so The same rain that draws you near me Falls on rivers and land On forests and sand Makes the beautiful world that you’ll see In the morning
Everything’s fine in the morning The rain’ll be gone in the morning But you’ll still be here in the morning.”
Bonus: Apologies to Guren, Yukimaru, and Gozu, but this song also reminds me of them. (Of course that’s Gozu on the guy’s part.)
Gozu: @standbyyourwoman
Believer
This is the only song where the video is as important to the character as the music. The video shows two muscular boxers fighting. One is young and eager, while the other is grizzled and resigned.  Gozu may be closer in age to the young one, but his character is much closer to the older one, who reluctantly destroys his opponent’s optimism and naivete because they have to continue their battle, no matter what. There is a particularly relevant part at the 2:50 mark that you won’t hear on the radio, where the music stops and the two men have an exchange that sums up Gozu’s character in one heartbreaking gesture and two words.
I’ve already written about why Gozu is amazing: he has a heart of gold despite both his appearance and his background suggesting anything but. His pointy teeth suggest that he’s from Kirigakure, where he would have had to fight his classmates to the death just to graduate from the Academy as a child. Then he was captured by Orochimaru and experimented on so cruelly that it drove him temporarily insane. Then he was left to rot in one of Orochimaru’s prisons until Guren showed up and made all the prisoners fight to the death (again) so the survivors could help on her mission to have Yukimaru control the Three-Tails.
But Gozu doesn’t see any of these things as the defining event of his life. What was the defining event? After going berserk from the experiments, Gozu was left in solitary confinement without food or water. When he was dying of thirst, Guren happened to pass by, and she brought him a drink. It saved his life. Gozu fell in love with Guren then and decided to dedicate his life to her service.
“You made me a, you made me a believer, believer Pain! You break me down and build me up, believer, believer Pain! Oh let the bullets fly, oh let them rain My life, my love, my drive, it came from… Pain! You made me a, you made me a believer, believer.”
Bonus: the fourth verse mentions,
“Last things last By the grace of the fire and the flame You’re the face of the future, the blood in my veins.”
Who’s the “face of the future” and might as well be “the blood in my veins” after Gozu and Guren leave at the end of their arc to start their new life? That’s right, Yukimaru, their adoptive son. I’m gonna cry again.
In Case You Didn’t Know
Speaking of that new life, it brings its own challenges for Gozu as we’ve been roleplaying it. He used to be Guren’s subordinate. Is he still, or is he something more? How does she feel about him now that they’ve lived together with Yukimaru for a while? Gozu is afraid to ask, but I’m not sure how long he can hide the way he feels about her, especially since he’s already given his life for her at least once. They’re parents with a child, but what are they to each other? For Gozu, Guren is the same to him as always.
“In case you didn’t know Baby I’m crazy ‘bout you And I would be lying if I said That I could live this life without you Even though I don’t tell you all the time You had my heart a long, long time ago, In case you didn’t know.”
~~~
Oh, yeah…
A random crow: @randomcrowsummon
It’s one of Itachi’s crows. It doesn’t get a theme song because it’s a flipping crow. If you’re an Itachi, Shisui, Sasuke, or Kisame, or you just want to interact with a crow that may or may not be a genjutsu, have at it.
~~~
Hope you enjoyed and that some of you do this, too!

Taylor Swift. The evolution no one saw coming.
Oh Taylor, look what you made me do…
So unless you are living somewhere where there’s no internet, (also, how are you reading this????), I’m sure you know Taylor Swift released her first single “Look what you made me do” from her upcoming sixth album, Reputation.
When the song dropped (and I am going to be brutally honest with you guys), I just wasn’t impressed. Like, at all. In fact, I sort of hated it. And when I say sort of I mean totally.
I’m all for artists expanding horizons and trying new things, but it didn’t really feel or sound like Taylor. I’ve been a country Taylor fan for a looooooong time and was sort of thrown off by “Shake it Off”, but I really wasn’t ready for pop Taylor to turn into…Lorde-Taylor?
For those of you who know me, you know that I was a huuuuge Taylor Swift fan since the early days. True story, I even went to her house once! (I KNOW, I KNOW!)
BUT…
When the whole Kimye disaster happened, my trust in Taylor Swift was broken forever. After watching Kim Kardashian’s video, Taylor went from being my most beloved celebrity and my fave artist after Michael Jackson to a person I felt like I didn’t know anymore. She lost a fan that day. (If you need all the details on the drama, read this Buzzfeed article.)
So why am I writing this article?
Well, after a year of not listening to her music, Taylor somehow has my attention again.
In fact, after she released the “Look what you made me do” music video, she earned my respect…again. A different respect. But a respect nonetheless.
youtube
“Look what you made me do” is one of those songs that you don’t like the first time you hear it, but it gets catchier and catchier each time you hit replay. Then paired with a BRILLIANT music video, it’ll be stuck in your head for good.
So what happened? Why do I think Taylor is “brilliant”?
OMG so many reasons.
THE MARKETING GENIUS OF THE TAYLOR TRANSFORMATION
First, I think everyone can agree that the Kimye situation was a PR DISASTER. (Unless it was a part of a long term marketing plan for her brand’s evolution that involved getting the biggest celebs in the world to play along. I highly doubt this, but it’s one of my conspiracy theories.) Taylor could have defended herself forever and could have made everyone feel sorry for her. Instead, she went radio silent (which made her seem even more guilty) and then BAM came out with a single that basically said “Yeah, you caught me, I AM a bad person. Deal with it.”
Do you know how much FREEDOM she must feel from releasing this single?
Taylor used to be a goody goody that would get scrutinized for every single little tiny misstep she took, while other celebs with a less-than-perfect reputation would get applauded for basically not committing a crime for the day. Now that she’s admitted that she’s a new Taylor…a bad Taylor…a mean girl Taylor….she has the freedom to release herself from those perfect girl shackles and do whatever the heck she pleases.
Side note – I can TOTALLY relate to this. Because Blogilates is a very family friendly and overall super positive female fitness brand, when I say one slightly tough thing, I seem to really upset people right away. I mean, literally the other day I posted a motivational quote that said this:
It was meant to be inspirational. A little kick in the booty! But I got a ton of comments on Instagram saying how disappointed people were in me…how people were going to stop doing my videos because of how insensitive I was. My follower count was in the negatives that day!
Honestly, if this quote made you mad enough to unfollow me, then I apologize for offending you, but I urge you to take a step back and ask yourself why. There’s a big difference between actually being lazy versus taking a rest day, needing a moment to relax or taking some time off to not work.
Anyway, I digress.
But see what I mean? “Good girls” aren’t allowed to make mistakes. “Bad girls” are.
Taylor can wear skimpier clothes, she can get plastic surgery, she can cuss, she can cut off all her hair, she can even release sex tapes – because guess what, you do not have the power to judge her based off of her old good girl standards. Those ancient standards are dead. The new Taylor has written her own rules – rules of which the public no longer has control over.
She is BORN-AGAIN.
This is the brilliance that I am impressed with. Who Taylor Swift is as a person, I am unsure. (I mean she was nice when I met her, but that’s all I know.) But the marketing behind her image and the execution of her new brand is SO GENIUS that my mind is exploding.
So for my business and advertising people…listen up.
Taylor went from naive country girl to romantic country princess to a squad-goals pop star to a certified bad girl. She’s been in the spotlight for over a decade and STILL has my attention. Many stars fade after a year. How did Taylor withstand the test of time? BECAUSE SHE EVOLVED. Even when people didn’t want her to.
In her latest transformation, Taylor went with the flow. She could not fight against the tide. Though the tide was one of major negativity, she embraced it and embraced it HARD. I really did not expect her to admit to her character flaws in her music video, but when she did, I forgave her. Once I did that, I felt like I was allowing myself to enjoy her music again.
The fact that Taylor is so self-aware (a la the scene at the end of the video where the Taylors from different eras argue with each other – ugh so good) lets me know that she’s smart, she’s creative, she’s funny and that she’s one step ahead of us.
HOW TAYLOR COMMERCIALIZED THE DISS TRACK TREND
Maybe diss tracks aren’t your type of content (not mine either), but this year it’s been HUGE on the ‘Tubes. Hands down, the “hottest” YouTubers now are Logan Paul and Jake Paul.
Logan got to over 11 MILLION subscribers in less than 1 year! To give you some context, I’ve been on YouTube for about 8 years and I am about to hit 4 MILLION – and that’s supposed to be pretty good.
But anyway…
The Pauls are brothers whose entire empires rest upon their oddly successful diss tracks – each video racks up hundreds of millions of views. The numbers are OUTRAGEOUS and pretty much unheard of these days for non-celeb musicians. These diss tracks are rap songs where the brothers make fun of other YouTubers. You could call it comedy or you could call it straight up bullying and harassment. Either way, kids LOVE IT and it’s super viral.
So, was Taylor’s new music video a type of high production super celebrity diss track? Is that why “Look what you made me do” became the highest viewed video of ANY VIDEO in the first 24 hours of it’s release?
You know, I think yes.
Do I think diss tracks are good for society? No.
But the truth is, I think people love a good drama…especially when it’s “real” drama. To be completely honest though – what’s real and what’s not these days? It’s hard for me to tell because I feel like everything is planned. Especially social media.
Entertainment has evolved and it is not at all what it used to be. We went from seeing actors in plays, to seeing actors in movies, to seeing “real people” on reality TV shows, to seeing “real-er real people” in YouTube videos, to seeing the “real-est, rawest, real people” in Snapchat videos. I mean, we think we’re seeing the truth, but is there still an underlying script that we don’t know about? Like are YouTube feuds and IG story dramas the new reality TV drama? Are we all just being played by Kim, Kanye, Taylor and Katy?
I don’t know. But either way, it’s all marketing and PR brilliance because it gets the entire world talking about them over such petty little things.
I mean, I just wrote an entire blog post about Taylor Swift after a year of ignoring her music. She got me. And she got me good.
Oh gosh, this post ended up being wayyyyyyy longer than I wanted it to be. But I have some takeaways for you:
If you run a brand or business who has made a mistake, own up to it. Admit it. I find it much easier to forgive a guilty person who has admitted fault than to believe a semi-guilty person who keeps trying to defend their innocence.
If you’re a person who feels boxed up and restricted by what other people want you to be, set yourself free by not letting their expectations shackle you. Allow yourself growth and change. Those who can accept the new you deserve to be by your side on your journey. Those who don’t can stay left behind.
HAHA who would have thought that this blog post would end up with “Look what you made me do” life lessons?
What did you guys think of the video and the song? What do you think of Taylor Swift? Let me know your HONEST feelings in the comments below! I am DYING to hear them!

She’s still commenting on my youtube videos with her in it, not sure why when she made it clear she didn’t care and I made it clear I didn’t want to be with her if she was dating him.
I don’t know, maybe it’s a guilt thing, like if things are okay between us she won’t have to feel bad for cheating on me but I already forgave her for that, genuinely don’t know what’s going on.
It’s so weird, she removed her best friend off everything, but I’m still added on skype, kik, snap and she’s talking to me on youtube, maybe she really did care at some point and a little of that is just pushing her to do this stuff, maybe she just likes the videos.
Maybe the worst thing about losing her is all the stuff I planned to do with her is just...poof...
Like, I hadn’t felt really close to anyone since my dad died, and him and I had a lot of fun just going out and doing stuff like driving at night down country roads talking about stuff while the cool summer breeze blew in through the windows.
We’d crank the radio a bit and get some kind of classic rock song going as background noise to whatever we wanted to talk about, religion, science, me being a nut.
We’d do it all til’ we found some place to park the car and we’d eat whatever food we got from the fast food place we went to, look up at the stars and just chill for hours.
It finally felt like I’d found someone I was close enough to where I could do something like that again, completely aside from being together in a relationship, I was most excited for that kind of complete openness and being so close to someone you can just go out and make a night of fast food and stargazing to talking about random stuff.
And then she left and it feels like all the stuff I enjoyed in my life had no chance of ever happening again and I’m just kinda here wondering if I’ll ever get the opportunity to do it in my life or if I’ll grow too old to have time to do something like that with anyone.
I wanted to grow old with her; I wonder if she ever felt the same, if she made plans with me about anything and her falling out with me put those ideas on their deathbed, but I’m getting the feeling she didn’t think of me much.
I wish I could know what she was feeling, or trust what she said, that she’d love me like I love her still, I’d take her back, we could still be what we were but it’s dead for her I guess, maybe it always was.
Anyway post is going on too long, maybe I’ll elaborate on my dad more maybe I won’t, one sure thing is I’m waiting on that fucking pizza place to call back, word out.

G.J - Forgave Love
Top Rap Songs
They also enjoy the way in which it's presented. Even should you aren't definitely fond of rap music file, you can find some songs out there that have turn out to be so big everyone has heard of them. They may perhaps be decades old but still identifiable when they may be played on the radio.
There have been quite few female rap stars to come our way. 1 of top rap songs is from a duo named Salt N Pepa. They may be considered to be a a single hit wonder from the 80's. There song referred to as Push It genuinely attracted the attention with the music industry although. For many people, it was the first exposure they had of rap audio. From there they went on to explore several other artists.
Rap artist Ice T has been properly known for his controversial songs. Cop Killa released in 1992 is a single that didn't sit well with many people. Actually, police departments all from the country rallied to get individuals to ban purchasing the album. For numerous even though the simple fact that it was so controversial just fueled the flame to go out and get it.
It seems as if the songs for rap records have taken on a life of their own. They are typically critiqued for the lyrics they contain nevertheless rather than the audio files they offer. You will locate not all rap songs are about having sex, doing drugs, gangs, or killing the police. Some of them are just plain fun. Others are religious in nature as these artists have found which is their calling but they love the sound of rap popular music.
You can find plenty of radio stations dedicated to playing only rap popular music. You'll be able to listen to them in your car or on your computer. With the popularity of iPods nowadays it is possible to also download your favorite rap songs and take them with you. Some radio stations won't play numerous rap songs even though due to the controversial lyrics. You will find generally two versions of such songs even though that you'll be able to access.
The best places to find the top rap songs of the moment are the weekly Billboard and Itunes charts. Billboard uses the airplay measurements of Nielson BDS to determine the most popular rap songs, while websites such as Ontheradio and Doipod keep track of the rap artists downloaded most frequently on iTunes. Retail websites such as Amazon also have music charts listing top selling artists by genre. Currently, these charts are dominated by Drake, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Flo Rida, Kanye West and B.o.B. The following rap hits appear at the top of multiple music charts and currently receive the most radio airplay and generate significant sales of albums and singles.
Love the Way You Lie
Eminem Featuring Rihanna
Currently the number one rap song on the Billboard Rap Charts, "Love the Way You Lie" holds a variety of impressive rankings on other music charts, including the following:
-#1 on AOL Radio
-#2 on Yahoo Video
-#3 on the Billboard Hot 100
-#4 on American Top 40
-#6 on MySpace G.J - Forgave Love Songs
-#6 in iTunes sales
The song is also ranked by Billboard as the most downloaded ringtone at the moment. This is one of few rap or hip hop songs to achieve popularity outside of the genre, likely a result of Rihanna's collaboration with Eminem. Together, the two artists have achieved popularity across multiple genres, a feat not easily accomplished.
