Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight is a story focused very heavily on connection and how the things you do affect everyone around you, be it good or bad.

The person you love most is also your biggest inspiration! Girls with swords! Sacrifice! Betrayal! Time loops! Codependency! Lots of codependency! Confidence as a coping mechanism! (Contains zero fanservice, btw!) One of the coolest transformation sequences I’ve ever seen! Finding your strength to improve once more because the person who inspired you in the first place still believes in you.

Though there are two leads, this show has nine main characters; I understand that this can be a lot, but every last one of them have distinguishable personalities and different things keeping each of them going forward, and therefore every last one of them moves the plot and character development forward in some way. Everyone gets their chance to shine at some point, and the way they interact with each other is always delightful.

They’re all technically rivals, working against each other to prop themselves up and be cast as the leads in Starlight, their class’ play production, but the dynamics between them all are very good. It’s about being Top Star, yes, but it’s also about support.

A guarantee: You will adore at least one pair in this show. There are so many options. They are all so very gay and so very incapable of dealing with these feelings in a healthy manner. If you think a character is processing something in a good way, they're lying to you.

the thing about jet is that he looks mean, but only because he practices his scowl in the mirror. when you spend your days working on raffen cars it helps if you look intimidating. he rode a few years in a pretty brutal motorcycle clan and can definitely defend himself if needed, but he prefers to keep his head down and stay out of the way. he’s dakota’s nephew, a huge dumbass, not a very good mechanic despite having his own garage (that he also lives in), and ends up finding one of the rogue delamains (the scared/anxious one) who now inhabits his bike and is his closest confidante/quite possibly his best friend.
