@majimemegoro shared a post with me, and I decided to respond back via a possibly length as all hell post 👍
(This is the post in question btw) Artwork for your thoughts
Tumblr media
I now present my semi-analysis-or-something of four certain men connected by the mountains, bear, and an attempted murder plot. Where all the best romances start~
°To start off, I always viewed it opposite. In that I could view Sato/Okudera romantically through the lens of Baba/Saejima instead of the other way around. (I could go into deeper detail with this one if wanted).
°Its real intriguing the possibility that the whole mountain side story was inspired by a film of a similar plot. They draw inspiration from and reference a lot of stuff in media- Japanese, western, and global content- and that whole section did not feel like it came out of thin air. Unlike the other stories, there's a lot of details of a different caliber going on here. Really would love to know what their reasoning for this particular one was.
-If the whole idea did come from that movie, removing any connections at all and giving Sato only Okudera to lean on and eventually care for makes this an even bigger point.
°I've assumed Sato took Okudera's last name given how much the characters in this series go on a last name basis with each other. There's some sort of old tradition of taking names, but to just give someone permission to use yours for their safety? Spicy.
°The possible thematic parallel of Nakajima and Sato is another high potential-spicy idea.
°Like Sato being caught up on the original Okudera for possibly the rest of his life, and making profound changes in him as a person, Saejima ends up doing that to Baba. Giving him newfound reason to live as Baba remains incredibly hung up over him to such a degree that Kiryu of all people can tell immediately that something's up. And there's the way he is at the end. (I think I accidentally explained my first point).
°The flower etching on the gun got me wondering when I first observed it. Idk if it's a normal gun etching, or if they intended to have meaning. Regardless, I'm so curious about looking more into it, but I simply cannot find any stable information on it myself either.

Gay or Dumb
[Just so we're clear the title is reference to 'Gay or European']
Tumblr media
Just two gay girls being stupid about each other.
Quick note Umi is a character from my Three Princesses AU. She's a member of the Shirai Ryu. Although this comic doesn't take place in the AU cause I was drawing it last night at 2am and didn't think when I decided to use the MKX Kuai Liang design. Umi and Frost got the same vibes going on in the AU though.
I do love this version of Hanzo I drew so I might reuse that.

- Luka sees the bees coming and warns Marinette. Marinette pushes him, demanding that he get on his bike and go. Luka hesitates because she's basically asking him to leave her, but Marinette asks, "Do you trust me?" which Luka does and bikes away while she runs in the opposite direction.
- Meanwhile, Adrien and Kagami's kiss goes through. They both see the bees and, similar to Luka and Marinette, head off in different directions.
- Both Aqua Ladybug and Aqua Chat Noir re-find Luka and Kagami, then bring them into the water/have them jump in and give them the breathing apparatuses.
- They go to the battle taking place with Miracle Queen. The only difference in the Miracle Queen scene is that Luka and Kagami aren't there and Nino also looked up at Master Fu when he was told to get his miraculous, making his identity as Carapace obvious (that was always weird to me in the episode how Nino didn’t really do that).
- Ladybug still feels like this is all her fault. Luka and Kagami can't offer verbal help, but Chat helps and Luka+Kagami place reassuring hands on each of her shoulders.
- Ladybug devises a strategy. She pulls out the dragon, asking Kagami to help one more time because she has an idea.
- Cut to Miracle Queen. Out of nowhere, they hear, "WIND DRAGON!" and the bees are thrown a massive distance away. Miracle Queen clutches the Miracle Box for protection and we see the snake disappear from its slot. When everyone starts looking around, Miracle Queen notices that Max isn't Pegase anymore.
- Hawk Moth is shocked, then hears a sound coming from inside Fu's Shell-ter. Aqua Horse-Chat pokes his head through with a Cheshire grin. "Don't mind me. I'm just here to pick up my grandfather." Fu grabs Chat's hand and Chat pulls him inside.
- With everyone still in the water (Fu holding his breath), Ladybug gives Fu a hug and explains that they'll need Shell-ter since Ryu Kenshi (the new Ryuko, decked out in a new outfit to protect her identity: "kenshi" is the word for a practicer of kendo but it can also mean "swordsman"/”swordswoman”) can't use Wind Dragon again. However, Fu slips off the turtle bracelet and hands it over to Ladybug, metaphorically symbolizing the future transfer of guardianship.
- Everyone leaps out of the water, Chat carrying Fu. The aqua transformations drop. Luka transforms into Viperion. Ladybug feeds Wayzz with a macaron and has him unify with Tikki.
- They land on the battlefield. The bees charge forward and the butterfly sentimonster gets into the fray (due to no longer having Fu's shield to break into). Turtle Bug (that's apparently the naming theme so why should I bother? :P) smirks at Hawk Moth, then uses a combination of Shell-ter and ladybug to make a large pink shield that seems to have the spinning effect that the yoyo shield does, making it hard to peer inside.
- Hawk Moth shouts to get the guardian, Miracle Queen chiming in with, "YEAH, WHAT HE SAID."
- Fight ensues. It's Rena Rouge, Roi Singe, and the butterfly sentimonster (technically Nino and Max too but--well--you can imagine how useful that is) against Turtle Bug, Chat Noir, Viperion, and Ryu Kenshi. Fu is a distraction of sorts since the mind-controlled heroes want to get the guardian.
- It’s also the most even team Chat Noir will ever be on since he knows both Kagami and Luka’s hero identities, which is a nice bonus for him.
- Similar scenario happens to before (the set-up using Roi Singe), but there's more tension because one single part of the shield can't be opened like in the original. The shield is dropped, the bees charge forward, but Chat gets Roi Singe to throw the power-disruptor at Miracle Queen (who's been comically circling the shield this whole time, trying to figure out what's going on). The bees explode into confetti, Turtle Bug pulls Miracle Queen in, and Chat Cataclysms her object.
- (note that Miracle Queen could also have been participating in the fight provided that she can't summon her bee minions)
- Since she's already used Shell-ter and doesn't need it anymore, Turtle Bug dismisses Wayzz. Same happens as in the episode where Ladybug tries to convince Queen Bee not to be on Hawk Moth's side and Queen Bee, in response, starts throwing on miraculouses. Fu shouts at her not to do that, but she's not listening. The butterfly sentimonster (worn down from the fight but still able to move) tries to attack again, but Ladybug ties it up with her yoyo.
- Hawk Moth is confident with Queen Bee throwing on the miraculouses, but same thing happens where the kwami won't transform Chloe since she doesn't know their names. Fu makes a speech about how you can't get a miraculous you feel entitled to. Hawk Moth comments on how he's still going to win and force Fu to tell him the heroes' identities.
- Ladybug smiles, pointing up at him. "Really? Because Ryu Kenshi looks ready to fight you up there."
- Hawk Moth and Mayura turn around to see Ryu Kenshi (yeah, really should’ve thought about the whole “being on an unprotected roof when the superheroes can jump” thing), who's grinning at them. They pale and Ryu Kenshi uses Lightning Dragon to zap them, knocking them off the rooftop. The butterfly sentimonster reacts and frees itself from Ladybug's yoyo, catching the two and immediately flying off. Ryu Kenshi, angered by the retreat, starts to shout for Wind Dragon before remembering that she's already used it. She and Chat go off to see if they can catch the villains.
- Queen Bee tries to escape with the Miracle Box. Ladybug gets her with her yoyo and Queen Bee falls over, dropping the box. Master Fu walks over and picks it up gently, giving Queen Bee a critical look as Queen Bee rants about how the miraculouses are rightfully hers.
- "I'M Queen Bee, I'M the rightful owner of that box, and I--" Suddenly, the de-transformation light washes over her. She turns around, seeing Viperion holding the bee miraculous with a Did you seriously forget I was here? expression.
- Chloe is enraged, flipping out as she removes all the miraculouses and tosses them to the ground since she's surrounded now. Viperion and Fu are in the process of picking them up (absolutely ignoring her like this is just a typical Monday) while Chloe rants to Ladybug about how she betrayed her.
- Chloe leaves in a huff. Ryu Kenshi and Chat Noir return, disappointed that they couldn't catch Hawk Moth or Mayura. Ladybug uses Lucky Charm to prepare to use Miraculous Ladybug, summoning the key ring that she does in the original. Fu recognizes it and admits that, even though she may have made a mistake, she couldn’t have predicted Hawk Moth following her and he would've seen her identity had she gone to de-transform. He adds that this is also partly on him as well; he took far too long to start training "his protege" (being vague about who that is because the other heroes are here) and he clung to the Miracle Box because of it. Though, he adds solemnly that Hawk Moth has the tablet with the translated grimoire. Ladybug gasps, but Fu assures her that he still has his phone (the thing he used to take pictures of the grimoire pages in "The Collector"), and he can easily translate the pages over again since he's already done it once.
- Ladybug uses Miraculous Ladybug and everyone parts after Viperion and Ryu Kenshi give back the miraculouses. Fu stops Ladybug from leaving and simply states that it's time he pass on the guardianship to her. He hesitantly goes to recite the phrase, but Ladybug stops him and reminds him that he already changed the "dumb guardian rules" in order to teach her, so why can't they do that here? They then smile at each other and Fu hands over the box, promising to send Ladybug the translated grimoire over text.
- Fu still goes off with Marianne, the two promising to go back into hiding together just in case Hawk Moth thinks to go after them. Marinette is a little sad to see them go, but Fu assures her that she can call him if she needs anything. He also gives her the non-Lucky Charm version of the key, assuring her that everything she needs (like the thing he used to hide the Miracle Box in, though Marinette would repurpose/repaint it to fit her room and look stylish) is in the locker that the key fits into.
- Same scene with the ice cream happens, but while Luka still plays his song, Marinette is considering the stuff Fu wrote in the letter in the locker (it's still all philosophical and stuff even though no memory wipe ended up being needed) and Fu had noted that the burden Marinette carries is heavier than ever now and she shouldn't be afraid to rely on others should she need it (you know, like he should’ve).
- Finally, Marinette looks over to Luka and says, "Luka, do you remember what you said to me when you were--" She blushes lightly at the memory of them hugging. "--you know?" He nods, and she pauses before adding, "I do actually have something to tell you."
- The next scene is Marinette taking Luka into her room and revealing the location of the new Miracle Box, signifying that Luka is essentially Marinette's confidant now.
- Cut to Gabriel with the fixed peacock miraculous for tension and the episode ends.

((I said it last time, but this is the Season with the next big change))
Tumblr media
The first four episodes were the same, we were free to research who we wanted. But this season saw the biggest change on my end starting with Sora Vs Pit. Starting with that episode, we were assigned matches based on who we picked and how we placed them on said list. So of the four matches before that, I was heavily involved in two: Twilight Vs Raven looking up as many comic appearances for the two of them...
Tumblr media
And Crash Vs Spyro. Like Lara Vs Nathan Drake, I saw everything they got and enjoyed what I saw. It seems every Naughty Dog matchup is fun for me. But speaking of this match, I was saying that Crash is smarter than he looked. Like Coco was giving him all these warnings when Crash looked like he was already in the know about Cortex. He may give the appearance of someone dumb, but he’s smarter than you expect.
Tumblr media
The first match I was the Head Researcher for was Ryu Vs Jin. I bet you think you know who was my first assignment. Well, you’re wrong. It was actually Jin. In the Vs community I saw people saying Jin was the likely winner over Ryu and I wanted to see if that was true. And for a while, it looked to be the case. But when numbers were compared Ryu came out on top. Now you look at Heihachi Vs Geese and see that Jin could have been portrayed stronger. Well as time goes on we all improve and Jin could have gotten higher numbers. But then again so could Ryu.
Tumblr media
My next match was Carnage Vs Lucy and Carnage was my assignment. This match I considered to be the unofficial sequel to Joker Vs Sweet Tooth. Sadly Carnage lost since I couldn’t find anything to suggest he could counter the Nuclear punches of Lucy. Of course because comics he gotten stuff since then. Could that have changed the battle? Who knows?
Tumblr media
The third one that season was Sonic Vs Mario where I researched Sonic. I saw a lot of people saying Sonic was portrayed as too slow but I did try my best to rep Sonic as best as I can. If only I considered the Chaos Emeralds and the Planet moving, that could have done something. Though the Mario arguments were a tough battle to fight against. And for those wondering if it was including everything, that would be the first one.
Tumblr media
And finally, I did Jiraya Vs Roshi. Basically everyone knew Roshi was gonna win so I did my best to make Jiraya at least impressive looking. Which is hard since he doesn’t have many appearances compared to others, who also do more impressive things after he died. And that’s the last thing for this season I did stuff. Next season sees my first win, and its sadly the most infamous one...

Kamen Rider Drive Movies and Specials
Tumblr media
This is the end of the road.
To finally close the Drive chapter in this journey here we are with the post about the movies. And this time it's extra special because I'll be talking about some of the specials for once, I usually never do those because it's too much of a hustle to go looking for them and I don't have that much time to watch them either, but to download some of the Movie Wars movies I had to download them from TV-Nihon batches and they include the specials on them so I thought, why not? Of course I did that before I had watched Drive and I saw that I didn't like it very much but oh well, they're on my hard-drive already I must as well watch them.
Anyway, there's a lot of stuff to go through so let's get to that right away.
Tumblr media
Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future
This movie... oh this movie... I feel like this movie doesn't work at all after you've finished the TV series. And even if you haven't finished the series I think it doesn't work very well either because they expect us to have some sort of connection to a character that hasn't been around for more than 15 minutes, and whatever connection we have with this character also dies very soon when the revelation that he's actually a Roidmude happen so... Again, Drive doesn't do family drama all that well. Also a lot of recycled things from the show, like another evil Drive? Really? And Shinnousuke apparently dying and the belt being destroyed again? How many times did that happen in the show again? Another thing that watching this movie after the show kinda ruins it is the treat of the Global Freeze because after we see the show it's obvious that the Global Freeze is useless, heck they didn't even care to explain what it is and how it works so seeing that being the treat was just irrelevant to me. Also that ending when they "revived" Krim was such a dumb Deus Ex Machina, I was just rolling my eyes at that point.
Tumblr media
Well, at least Chase had a good bad-CGI scene where he destroyed a big thing that I don't even remember what it was. And Proto-Drive Chase or whatever it is called was kinda cool as well. But the rest? Pretty meh I'd say. Also, this movie had a Ghost cameo?? That really surprised me seeing that he appeared twice in the show?? it felt a bit excessive, but oh well... whatever.
Tumblr media
Drive Saga - Chaser
THIS MOVIE. IT HIT REALLY HARD ON THE FEELS. And I don't if it's because is centered around my favorite character or if it's really that good, but I really loved this movie.
I think they've checked all the right boxes when making a story for Chase and it was very well rounded, if I had to say a point that they lacked I'd say it was in the action, but I feel like that wasn't really needed because this was so focused on working on the characters so, in the end, the only thing that comes as weird from this movies was the uncomfortable comedic close-ups, the weird erotic scenes, and Chase bleeding that much to remove the feather from his chest, I'm not sure if an android would bleed like that, but it doesn't hurt the experience.
But they do hurt your heart, because seeing Chase get close to that kid was really adorable and seeing that he doesn't remember it at the end HURTS and hurts A LOT. I felt sadder for that moment than I felt for Chase's death, heck this movie made me feel more things than in the 48 episodes and 2 movies I've watched at this point. Gosh, it's so good. I also like the villain they chose for this movie, Angel was a very interesting Roidmude, of course, I'd rather if she didn't look so psychopath right at the beginning so it wasn't so clear that she had bad intentions, but for a one-off villain, she was great. It was also very fun seeing a "softer" Chase, props to his actor he was so different but he still felt in-character, you know? It didn't seem fake or anything, it was weird at first of course, but It was really good. I bet his vocal cords also really appreciated the chance of speaking in a normal tone for a change. XD In the end, this was really enjoyable, Chase once again being the best thing of Drive.
Tumblr media
Oh, I almost forgot, another thing that was really fun was seeing Ryu again, that was really great. It also makes sense that the rider who can transform into a bike made a cameo in a show where the theme is vehicles. You know, I didn't really like Ryu during W but everything else that he has appeared he has been so great?? That's so weird. Also apparently now he has a child with Akiko???? What???? You know, for all the crap I give to crossovers and such even I must admit that seeing Ryu and how his relationship with Akiko has been developing is really awesome. I still don't know why anyone would want to marry Akiko and build a family with her, but if he's happy, good for him. XD
Tumblr media
Drive Saga - Mach & Heart
You know, this one was probably the one I was less excited about, and it surprised me, but it also got me very disappointed. This was totally a mixed bag. I wish these were more connected, for Heart's part to work Gou needed to be there and that worked really well, but aside from the villain Gou's part had very little involvement with Heart's part and it felt like a letdown.
Heart's part was quite good, the set-up was great, the story was pretty decent, and I really liked the payoff. As I mentioned in my posts about Drive I didn't really care for the Roidmudes or for the rest of the cast in the Special Crimes Unit, but seeing Heart and Genpachi work together was quite awesome, I had a lot of fun. I'm still kinda meh about that amalgam Roidmude being a thing, it is a good villain I'm just picky about how this guy appeared, and I'm not the biggest fan of Heart's rider design, but Heart's portion has enough things on there that make easy for me to overlook them and consider it a solid especial. I like that he came back as a fluke, and I like that he has Brain and Medic on his head too, I like that Shinnousuke appears because of the thing he had with Heart, and the emotional bits between him and Genpachi worked beautifully.
Tumblr media
The same can't be said about Gou's part because they decided to make a love story, and they also decided to put family in the mix because Drive really knows how to touch in family discussions, and this was just underwhelming as hell. It gave Gou some development, and at least that's good because the show lacked a lot in that department, and it's always great to see Chase again even though it was just some weird supernatural thing, but I really couldn't care less about the other stuff going on. But if you like Gou maybe this will great for you because you'll be able to see the dude becoming happy, so...
Tumblr media
Drive Saga - Brain
This one was surprisingly good, I don't know why but I came into this thinking this would be a serious thing, but I was wrong because this is a special for Brain so of course it would be a comedy. I thought seeing that it was just a comic thing would throw me off of it, especially because I wasn't the biggest fan of Brain in the show, but here it worked quite well. It still has the things I don't like about the comedy in Drive, but for some reason, they didn't bother me as much here. I think what I like the most is that it knows that is something ridiculous, and it owns it, like there's a moment during the fight in part 2 where one of the villains says "but this weapon ain't yours, it's just a recolor" and I cracked the hell up, I loved the joke that Brain has only 600 Giga in his hard-drive making him even weaker than my previous computer, and the fake-out he did on the final villain where his final blow was a headbutt rather than a kick was just marvelous. I got a few spoilers from villains of Ghost and Ex-Aid, but it was worth it. This was fun, Brain's design as a rider was freaking cool as heck, it's a shame but also very funny that the comedic rider got the best form of this entire season, and I like that this serves as either a prequel or a sequel to the Mach & Heart movie. If you want something quick and fun to watch go do it because this one is great.
Tumblr media
Drive Secret Missions
So these secret missions are kinda whatever, most of them aren't that good, but also most of them aren't that offensive, they're pretty mediocre. I think from these 5 only 2 are worth watching. Type ZERO is kinda okay, it doesn't add anything new so it's not that necessary, but we get to see Proto-Drive properly and that's really cool, his design is awesome, but that's pretty much the only interesting thing it has going for. Type TV-KUN is like a prequel for Drives episode in Movie Wars Full Throttle and isn't that good. Type HIGH SPEED is probably the worst of them because it's one of those Hyper Battle DVDs who have no purpose at all and are very boring, this one is even worse I feel because they try to make a full-length episode out of it and there's no need for that. Type LUPIN is another Hyper Battle DVD and while I love Lupin's design this one was pretty underwhelming, I'd say it was completely unnecessary.
Type TOKUJO, though, was pretty good, probably the best out of them and maybe the only one worth watching. Honestly, this story is so good it should've been in the TV show, I mean this gives inside on why each member joined the SCU, it's a fun case (despite the resolution being kinda dub, again), and also establishes that Bannou was inside Brain's tablet so it would've been perfect for it, I'd take this over any filler plot in the entire run of the show. I had a good time with it.
Tumblr media
And that does it for Drive! Wow, this was very long, thanks for sticking with me until this far. If you have any thoughts, don't be shy, share them in the comments, I'd love to read them. Drive is over but this "marathon" isn't, and if everything goes right, the post with Ghost's first episodes plus his crossover movie should be out a few minutes after Super-Hero time finishes on Saturday (or Sunday, depending on where you are in the world). Once again, thank you so much for reading, I'll see you all around. Bye~

questions for authors. || @heamatic || accepting
WRITING 1. What is one thing you would change about your writing?
You know me, I’m perpetually questioning the comprehensiveness of my own writing as I often have no fucking clue on what I’m writing as I could be my own worst critic and am fucking insecure as fuck, but I truly believe I have grown to love my writing, certainly much more than in the past. People would often blatantly criticize that I don’t write enough actions and my way of writing is too dense and too obscure to decipher, but I refuse to dumb down any of my writings. I like to challenge myself and push the proverbial nature of English, both words and syntax and just break everything that’s known in the language when it comes to grammar and structure. It’s so malleable as never-drying clay and even with my run-on sentences and excessive use of semicolons and dashes, I love my writing. Flaws and imperfections and all.
In retrospect, I just like to elaborate on details and go on and on and be verbose as possible. Maybe if I can slightly tone that down, but other than that, nothing could stop me from rambling about both of my muses who are hardened and guarded in their own ways, and uses defense mechanisms and ways to cope on their own to carry on their goodness and heart of gold. If I don’t express everything through my writing and refuse to give Hanzo and Kuai the depth and complexity they need (which NRS certainly never bothered to explore), then why am I writing?
CHARACTERS 5. Do you prefer magical or mundane characters, why?
By mundane, non-magical characters?? I think I used to prefer mundane characters, but now that I’ve began delving into Hanzo and Kuai for more than a year and having fleshed out their abilities and utilizing their pyromancy and cryomancy as something that proverbially define their essentiality and personality - how Hanzo’s emotions spill and burn like wildfire, both paradoxically beautiful and destructive, while Kuai Liang’s contained phlegmatism and calmness is more like bone-chilling cold. Steady, yet equally beautiful and destructive, and ice has tendency to burn hotter than fire itself, as the icicles bring upon despair and hopelessness. It’s so much more fun to make them ‘normal,’ because the Mortal Kombat universe is already rampant with supernatural and magical elements, and I’ve grown to love exploring and delving both sides of the world through different verses and alternate universes.
MULTI MUSE BLOGS 7. What is your biggest pride in your muses?
Hanzo Hasashi: Despite the unending barrage of grief throughout his life; through two Shirai Ryu extinctions and loss of not only his own life, but of his family’s, he has grown to be immensely intimate with his emotions and shortcomings, as it became a catalyst of invigorating and energizing him in pursuing emotional maturity and personal growth, offering the clan immeasurable interest and support as not only being its Grandmaster, but manifesting as different figures that one needs. He’s even able to take on a role of a psychiatrist; not offering immediate solutions, but being more patient and a great listener. Throughout MKX comics and leading up to MK11 storyline, Hanzo Hasashi has grown so much in dichotomy and complexity and it makes the mun so proud as to write as this fiery, impassioned ninja.
Kuai Liang: It always has perplexed and confounded me how Sub-Zero always puts others before himself, even when he has more than his baggage of trials and tribulations. He always lets other people come to him to talk out their problems, but he will never discuss the throes of his own emotional pain. He is more than capable of being empathetic and merciful, but he chooses to exact towards those who he could absolutely devote to with utter trust, dedication and love. Through his calmness and generally solemn and severe phlegmatism that could drive strangers away as uninterest and impassiveness. Kuai Liang isn’t used to expressing in general, and he’s also be able to feel grief and anguish but will almost never elaborate. He refuses to, and a lot of time and coaxing would be needed. While he’s one of the most ferocious and capable warriors of the MK franchise, Kuai Liang is the most kindest and pure and I love him for it.
