I’m pausing social media interaction for the moment. I’m going deep and dark and require the space and clarify of being in my own presence and energy to align myself with right service at this time. . I have always wanted to play, to enjoy the fruits of the discipline... but I haven’t really been as good at putting together all of the little tiny, daily wins that are required to make sustainable progress in my athletic capabilities. 💫 I have been a dancer all my life, and also had a successful athletic career as a young teen as a synchronized swimmer... having attended the Junior Nationals competition at age 15. 💫 Due to a a choice to focus on my social life as a teenager rather than continue my progress as an athlete and a performer — and around the same time receiving some confusing feedback/criticism from a dance teacher who really pushed me a little harder into competition then I was ready for — my fear of proceeding and progressing in my athleticism and my art form was exacerbated. 💫 Fast forward to age 25, when I decided to give it another go… This time in modern dance! I fell in love with Martha Graham, and started to explore opportunities in Philadelphia at the University of the arts to work with an amazing teacher there. I felt I was still young enough to possibly go for my dream of being a professional dancer, even if only part time or in small performances. 💫 After one semester of dance class in the continuing education program, and making a lot of progress, enjoying tapping into my creative process again, this new endeavor came to a screeching halt when I was in a car accident which shattered my right knee cap. 💫 What happened next began a long, strange trip which veered the course of my life onto a completely unexpected and different path than I had been on...
