hi hello!! i was wondering if you had any ezra headcanons (from tckas)? i just finished the book and i LOVED it.

yes yes yes i love ezra

he knows that ellery thinks that he's silly for always believing in sadie but in his mind if he can't believe in his mom then... who can he believe in?

he's a big fan of the great british bake off (he loves the juxtaposition of the intense bakes and the incredibly helpful contestants)

he used to watch reruns in california when he and ellery would wait up for sadie to come home

his grandmother teaches him to cook during his senior year and it makes him feel so powerful

he never has to resort to microwave mac & cheese again

he discovers a love for baking pretty soon after he learns to cook and he makes great pastries

he gets on really well with declan

i think he feels really responsible for ellery because she's always moody and he has to be sunny to make sure that she doesn't turn into the next sadie and declan knows what it's like to protect his sibling from things that they aren't ready to deal with

ellery never really bonds with her half siblings but ezra loves them

and they love him

he's such a doting uncle

he instills a love for rock music into his nephew and his half sister is jokingly annoyed about it

he grows his hair out again after a few months of living in echo ridge because he finally feels happy again

he actually reaches out to katrin after the dust settles and writes her a really long email about how he understands the pressure of wanting to make parents happy and he hopes that she is doing okay and that she eventually learns that she's her own person separate of who her father expected her to be

katrin actually responds and they become something similar to penpals

ezra doesn’t go to college

he works for an indie radio station in burlington

he always thought that he would move back to california but he loves vermont so much

and he gets to be near ellery 

he never talks about it but he has always been shaken by the death of his aunt -- just like ellery he can’t imagine being forced to live a life without his twin

he swears off romance while he tries to get his own radio station but the guy he works with in burlington wears elbow patch cardigans and is adorably terrified of rock music and ezra falls in love right on the spot

ez and mia stay best friends for their entire lives

they live together in burlington after college

Part of this includes the punishment mandate issued several days ago. By Dominants doing their part, this frees up government resources to invest into finding these terrorists so we all may go back to our lives. 

As such, we have another large request to ask of our citizens. Any unclaimed submissives over the age of 18 will be assigned to a Dominant, with whom they will spend three days out of the week. We assure you that all claims and mock claims will be honored, so there will be no breaking of relationships in this mandate. During these three days, the Dominant will be responsible for administering the submissive’s weekly scene and maintenance punishment. 

We understand that this is not an ideal solution, but we have ultimately found no other choice. We must humbly ask our citizens to help the government in this moment of history. hi so i’ve never spoken to you before in my life but i finished tckas today and i have many thoughts and need to throw them at someone

i did not see the rodriguez twist coming. it’s dumb because i realised a few chapters before that if someone in echo ridge was their dad it was presumably gonna be a hispanic guy based on the line from mia earlier but that line of thought got as far as ryan being much too young before stopping and i’m so mad i didn’t think about it-

i also was so sure it was either vance or that the 3 disappearances were all unrelated. my dumb ass never even thought to include peter on my subject list but i included ezra???

that last line though 💀 i think my soul left my body

but i have so many questions?? why did peter want to kill sadie? did they date?? i assume they did and i just forgot that was mentioned but in that case.. sadie has to have known?? like peter was 17ish at the time he probably wasn’t the most subtle?? she can’t just assume that it was unrelated?? was that another level to her guilt about sarah??

hell, was peter even telling the truth about that?or was he trying to torment ellery in his last moments?? what if he really was involved with sarah? i wouldn’t put it past the creep

wow ezra’s line in chapter 1 about ‘knowing how easily you could’ve been the wrong twin’ really hits different now huh

i literally didn't even consider the fact that the other half of their family would be revealed? like i knew that their dad was from echo ridge? and i knew that they had to be half latino like you said but i still had to close my book in shock when ellery saw the picture.

you included ezra??? actually that's kind of on par with me thinking maeve was the killer in oouil (shows how good karen is). actually vance is such a good suspect to have because he's always been around and it's really easy to seem innocent when you're drunk all the time.

that last line holy shit it ended me.

peter wanted to kill sadie because they dated, yes. peter was young but he's proven to been unhinged.

actually you do bring up a good point - was it peter? there's no way of knowing. peter knew that sadie was upset about sarah and it's pretty easy to see that ellery was investigating because she wanted answers about sarah. peter had just been ousted as the jackass that he is - he could have easily wanted some sort of upper hand. and he has it because ellery is freaked. oh gosh i never thought of him being involved with sarah damn.

ezra's line is so chilling my god. ellery was so close to being the twin at the wrong place at the wrong time - just like sarah

The two articles differ very slightly in their account of what happened afterward (one says that the Winnie's mother would look in to annullment, while the other says that Winnie was later spotted walking with Alfred and her little brother). I didn't find a marraige record for a Winnie Horn, but I did find one of a Minnie Horn and Alfred Thirsting. The marriage seems to have ended, as Winnie pops up in various other articles over the years. She and her sisters were apparently a bit famous. There isn't any indication that Winnie or her sisters participated in the 1899 Strike (they very well could have, or could have been sold papers behind the boys back like Mrs. Corcoran and Mrs. Shea), but they were around at the time, and involved in the industry. Winnie married an Antonio Martinez and had 1 child. Winnie was one of 8 children (3 boys, 5 girls).
