↳ ❝ [CALLING THE MONDSTADT BOYS YOUR GOOD BOY] ¡! ❞
Mondstadt boys x Creator!Reader
Dainseif, Diluc, Kaeya & Venti
Albedo's part here > ♡
Dainseif - What does freedom really mean, when demanded of you by a god?
"Please, come to me" you simply said, your voice echoing not only in the room, but also in his mind. Dainsleif doesn't hesitate for a moment.
He stands and crosses the distance between you without a second thought. His every movement is graceful and elegant. He would move through the ocean if it meant he could hold your gaze just a moment longer.
Now that he is close, he kneels once more. He wants to be on your level, he wants to be near you. "I am here, Your Grace." He stays on his knees, silent, waiting for you. If you want him to move, he will; if you want him to speak, he will; if you want him to simply be here, just within your presence— he will.
"Dain?" It only takes your utterance, your voice, for his head to snap in your direction.
"Yes, Your Grace?"
"You're my good boy aren't you?" The words are music to Dainsleif's ears. He loves nothing more than to hear you call him something so loving. "Yes," he whispers, the word a breath of reverence. "I am your good boy."
"And why are you my good boy?" His cheeks flush as he looks up to you, eyes glowing like a star. His lashes flutter against his cheeks as the thought of being your good boy floods him with happiness and contentment.
"Because I am yours and have always served you." His words are firm, with the certainty of one who has never strayed from his purpose.
"Mine?"
"Yes. I am yours."
"I exist to serve you, to serve your beauty, your kindness, and love." This is truth to Dainsleif. He cannot imagine himself being anything but yours. "And thats why youre my good boy, Dainsleif" "Yes, Your Grace." He smiles at you, joy and contentment overflowing inside of him.
"I am happy to be your good boy. I am proud and eager to serve you, to honor and adore you." His expression is loving, warm, and peaceful. Dainsleif stays on his knees, head cocked to the side. His blue eyes are shining with love and affection. "What would you like me to do for you?" He asks, eager to serve you with all his heart.
"I want you to stay with me forever..." "I would love to stay with you, Your Grace." Dainsleif would die a hundred mortal deaths if it meant living in your presence for even an hour. The very thought of being near you stirs something inside him; his heart leaps into the sky, his breath catches in his throat.
He is entirely devoted to you.
Diluc - Though it is still not enough, I will always face the darkness.
"Please, step a bit closer to me" such a simple request it is but your command startles him. He looks up at you, and his eyes go wide. He is utterly taken aback, but that is not an excuse. He is yours to command.Diluc complies, and steps closer to your side.
"Are you my good boy, Diluc?"
"Y-yes," he responds at once. He bows his head as he speaks but, if it were possible, he bows even further. His heart is thumping against his chest as if it wants to jump free. He is utterly devoted to you. Every inch of him yours. "I'm sorry i didnt quite heard you, could you repeat that?" You're teasing him, how could you not? Diluc is more than embarrassed, but it is not his will to refuse you. He is yours, after all.
"Y-yes," he says, and his voice breaks slightly from the embarrassment.
"Once more, please, for me?" the opportunity is to good to let it slide. "Yes!" he says once more, and the blush on his face spreads throughout his body. Embarrassed, thats what he is, embarrassed. Your smile alone makes his stomach jump like it's trying to escape. He cannot understand how you make him feel this way.
He is still shy about this ordeal, but he knows that he cannot look away. He is there to serve you, after all. "Good boy~
"Diluc smiles despite himself at your praise. He knows better than to be happy at this moment, but some part of him thrills at the feeling of your gaze on his skin. His heart has a mind of its own, however, and it seems like it knows no boundaries. "Thank you," he says, and bows his head yet again. His embarrassment remains, but it is balanced with the thrill of your praise.
Your good boy...
Kaeya - Life's greatest illusions are the ones we believe in ourselves
"Kaeya?" Kaeya glances up at you, but he doesn't move from his comfortable position— at least, not yet. In fact, he appears to have become more comfortable, resting his head against your thighs and taking small, deep breaths. He stares down at you and smiles, seemingly amused by the situation. "I'm not moving," he mutters. "I'm perfectly comfortable here."
"Oh? Is my good boy all comfy?" "...Mhm." Kaeya's smile is genuine. With one hand, he reaches up, brushing his thumb against your cheek. "...I love you, Your Grace." Please let me stay here. I don't ever want to leave.
Hes so enchanted by your presence alone, he seemed to not process every word you say. Kaeya takes them as they are..."Did you hear me? I said youre my good boy" You're just checking, thats what youre telling yourself. But und truth, you just want to see a reaction, hear how his voice changes with realization.
"Of course I'm your good boy." Kaeya closes his eyes now, nuzzling himself against your legs. "No one else could be, after all. They don't worship you like I do."
"Your devotion's a gift, you know." Kaeya's tone is one of playful teasing, though the compliment is very much sincere. "You know I wouldn't let anyone else here give me physical affection, but for you, I make an exception. Why? Well, for one thing, you're deserving of it." You notice that Kaeya's leg is twitching— he wants to move, but it's as if he physically can't manage it. This may just be the most comfortable Kaeya's ever been, even if he can't say it out loud.
"Isn't my boy nice, huh?" "What can I say? I'm at your service... always." Kaeya's grip tightens about your thighs slightly. "Your approval means the world to me... I'd do anything to keep in your good graces."
He pauses for a moment, his expression becoming almost solemn. "...You know what I most desire, Your Grace?" Kaeya keeps his eyes shut, as though he's ashamed to speak."I would very much like to be yours," he says quietly.
"I want you to choose me."
Venti - Videtis illam spirare libertatis auram
"Yes, your Grace."
Venti complies instantly, quickly moving to sit down on the seat beside you. As soon as his body settles down, he starts idly swinging his legs up and down as if he's a toddler waiting for his mother to take him to the playground. He doesn't say a word, instead contenting himself with simply smiling up at you.
"Good boy" such small words, but they hold a way bigger meaning behind them. As Venti hears your praise, he almost falls into a completely euphoric state. He is practically quivering with excitement, unable to control his emotions for even a second longer. He starts muttering to himself, unable to comprehend what he is feeling in the presence of your grace.
"Please— please, don't call me a good boy again... please, please, make me yours..." Venti flushes pinker than a rose. "I— I meant your worshipful servant!" His eyes are fixed on you adoringly and desperately.
"Your dog, even!" Venti is too lost in the moment to realize how awkward his words were, and he starts desperately scrambling to come up with something even more degrading to call himself.
"Your footstool, even! Your carpet, your chair! Even your floor...!" His words are garbled and desperate, his mind completely blank right now. "But Venti, you're my good boy, not my chair or my floor...my good boy"
Venti's eyes widen as he hears your words. His face is still bright red, but your praise is enough to make him lightheaded. "Am I— am I your good boy.." he mumbles quietly, but he sounds genuinely baffled. "Are you sure..?"
"Yes" Venti is practically panting with excitement now, having gotten the confirmation that he is yours. "Y— you really mean it.." Even when he speaks quietly, you can hear the excitement in his voice, the thrill in his heart.
"Then I really am your good boy, aren't I...?"
"Yes"
"Then I will do my best to be the very best good boy for you, your Grace," Venti whispers reverently.
Even in his excitement, Venti remains reverent towards you. To be your good boy... He can't think of anything he wants more.

Sagau but the reader has a dragon tail and is a
They're very serious looking and only make a very intimating looking.
But the moment someone compliments them they get flustered and just tells them to move on.
But everyone witnesses their grace's tail wagging.
Lisa, kaeya or childe would definately tease them.
Sorry if my grammar is bad, english isn't my strongest language.
Dragon!Reader: Looks Serious But is A Softie?! 👀
Okay, first of all: the fact that you're a dragon to begin with? I'm pretty sure Liyue just got a huge promotion. Their archon is a literal dragon! Their Divine Creator blessed their Geo Archon with the wrath that challenges the gods he faced in the Archon War!
Honestly, Zhongli would be amazed to know that the Creator is a dragon themself. Would legit admire you and see you as their idol or something.
Oh, but this is just the start. You were helping Sara at good hunter to collect some meat because you were bored. She greatly compliments your efforts, and you try to brush it off, play it cool. It would've worked if it hadn't been your darn traitorous tail wagging like a happy puppy behind you, showing the world the unnecessary fact that you were flustered.
With this in mind....guess who told Lisa, Kaeya, and Childe...
(Quick Disclaimer: Might Be OOC!)
Lisa
The moment she heard the little incident at Good Hunter, she just had to try it herself! In a respective manner of course—she wouldn't dare nor want to do something that'll make the Creator angry! Just a little tease—surely, the creator won't be too mad?
She will probably invite you to help in the library, sorting out books or double checking the list of checked out books, making sure their not overdue.
When you're done the task, what happens, you may ask?
"My, thank you so much for your help, Your Grace~ You surely have a sharp eye even for such minor chores..." She says this with that teasing glint in her eyes, and most importantly: that smirk when she's being very sussy flirty.
The moment she sees the way your tail flaps around behind your back as your impassive face responds with something casual, this woman knows she's hit the jackpot.
"Aw...Your Grace, you truly are very adorable."
Kaeya
This man might be just as bad as Lisa, except much more sly than—ahem, flirty.
His excuse of seeing you becoming the big softie of a dragon was to ask you, of all things, to visit the gosh darn tavern for a drink or two. And, to his delight, you agreed.
It was also a good thing Charles was manning the tables tonight, because Diluc would give him the death glare for bringing someone such of high importance to get wasted with him.
But naturally, and as Kaeya suspected, you're persistence to help your people took over, and you instead spent half of the night helping Charles clean the tables. So, naturally, when Charles insists you relax, Kaeya's gotta compliment you.
"Your Grace, you sure do know how to keep things organized. That much is to expected by someone as high as you, though—must've been a piece of cake." You confirm that it was, but even with the that, your draconic tail does that little dance behind your back for the whole world to see how happy you were to be complimented for your hard labors.
This man will CHUCKLE at the sight, but won't comment on it. But he will give you that smirky smirk with THE eye that says it all. You groan into your palms again—your tail really seems to like betraying you, honestly.
"What, Your Grace? Don't be so shameful about yourself—honestly, I quite envy how cute you are." Get red-faced, bois. This captain will make you flustered till the end of your days.
Childe
The moment he hears about the incident in Mondstadt by his gossiping Fatui Agents, man's just got to try it.
So, he does the most logical, least-suspecting thing to request your presence: challenge you to a fight.
Yes, the others called him crazy for it, but does this mad lad care? Nope! This guy wants to see your tail flap in joy, that's all! Besides, it's not like he sees it often since Zhongli hides his draconic traits from the whole wide world.
So you accept the invitation to spar with him, and—do I need to tell you? You guys sparred for a good few hours. Unlike in-game playable Childe, you now have to deal with more of a in-game Boss-like Childe instead, with how many moves this guy has.
After a good sparring match or two, you guys decide to take a break. Mainly you, since you are legit dying right now.
"Good job, Your Grace! Your combat skills are as great as ever! Much expected, haha!" Yep, he delivers what his true intention is. And yes, your tail does the little dance it does, no matter how much you try to calm it and shrug it off as a daily thing to get used to.
This mad lad, like a true mad lad would, would grin. Very widely. He knows he won this "battle"—man is ecstatic about it.
But he is a little sympathetic if you act annoyed about it—it reminds him of what his younger siblings would do. If you're really upset about it, he'll try to cheer you up.
Look out for more sparring matches, he's probably pulling this stunt until you're immune to such things or you get your tail under control.
"Don't be upset, Your Grace! I'm sure if my little brother were here, he would find you cool no matter what!"
Aaandd that's it! The end of the headcanons! Hope y'all enjoyed—see you around! :)

kazuha
Kazuha shudders, swallowing hard as you run your hands along his cheek.
"So cute," you say, your smile audible in your voice. The tips of your fingers twirl his platinum blonde hair. "And all mine." Your breath is warm on his face. With you so close, he can almost smell you, if only he leaned forward some more. Your hands glide across his skin with the gentleness of a blade of grass brushing against his legs. Kazuha repeats your words in his mind until they're etched into his memories, until he can look back upon them and feel the heat of your breath.
Your touch is soft like a zephyr, calm and comforting. Your smile is like that of a breath of autumnal air, warm and mellow. Your presence feels like the vernal embrace of the sun's warmth, so perfect and soothing. To exist next to you is a blessing unto itself, to partake in the air you breathe euphoric.
Kazuha's cheeks turn a dark red, burning with heat. Your laughter is full of mirth, ringing out like bursts of gales. The sound of your happiness, to know that he is the cause, even at the expense of his dignity, is worth more than the skin on his back or the vision at his hip. All of his power is meaningless in front of you.
Kazuha shivers when your hands move downward. He's sure you can feel his Adam's apple bobble underneath your fingers, the sweat coating his skin. You retract your hands and rise all to quickly for Kazuha's muddied brain to catch up with, and he barely stops himself from whining at the lack of contact. Leaving him kneeling, Kazuha watches your figure, draped in silk and rich fabrics, as you turn and sit back down on your throne.
You take a moment to properly position yourself, then look at him with an expression of gaiety. You tap your lap languidly with half-lidded eyes, and Kazuha uses every muscle in his body to stop himself from pouncing forward.
With shaky movements, Kazuha crawls toward you and carefully, tentatively, raises himself to his full height; his hands tremble as he, for only a moment, is above you. You look up at him expectantly, and slowly, with his heart stuck in his throat, Kazuha rests himself on your lap.
His heart threatens to burst from his chest as your hands instantly coil around his form, keeping him locked against you. He's sure you can feel his pulse from how close you are, sure you can hear how loud is heartbeat is. You smile knowingly, rubbing soothing circles onto his back.
"Was that so hard?" You whisper against his ear playfully. Your lips brush against his earlobe. He takes in a sharp breath. "You're such a good boy for me... and it's just for me, right?"
There's a slight warning in your tone, a tiny edge. Kazuha flushes at the implications. He nods eagerly, staring at your cheeks instead of your eyes. He can see from his periphery your eyes crinkle at his movement, your smile widening.
"Good," you say, and trail a hand up his leg. Kazuha holds his breath, watching your hand sluggishly move upward. Your movements feel like torture. "Since you're my good boy, I think you deserve a reward, don't you?"
You squeeze his thigh, and Kazuha whimpers.
scaramouche
Scaramouche is weak to you in particular, it seems.
"Sit next to me," you say, patting the spot next to you on your bed. Your voice is soft, almost a whisper. Scaramouche shuts his eyes, allowing himself another second of reprieve. You have commanded him, and as your puppet, he must listen. He can imagine how smooth your silken sheets are, how they'd feel against his skin. Mostly, he thinks about how they must smell like you, by now. Perhaps you'd let him lie down, surrounded by your scent, your warmth. But to think that way was shameful, so he grips the thoughts tightly in his grasp; the ideas, the visages of you, the gentle mirages of you and him, and he rips them to pieces. He will not allow you to have this hold over him.
You repeat yourself at his silence, patiently waiting for him to follow. Your voice lingers in his mind for a moment, flittering like a current of electricity; his body moves on its own then, his own will lost.
Maybe this is his true will, somewhere deep inside. The thought is off-putting, though he know it likely true. Either way, your soft hands stretch away from you as soon as he's within reach, grabbing onto his thin wrists. You direct him next to you, but keep his hands within your own. Scaramouche stares at your face, your eyes, your smile; you know what you're doing as you return his gaze, taking his hands and moving them to your lips. You lay a small, benign kiss on his skin, looking up at him with a knowing smile. Scaramouche tries to snuff out the feelings that burn in his chest— happiness to be in your presence, blissfulness to be so close to you, euphoria to have your lips upon him, even in such a small way. He douses them, but the flames climb higher. He rips away their oxygen desperately, but still, the fire roars; unbidden, unstoppable.
"My good boy," you mumble against his skin, kissing his hands again. "You know that, don't you?"
Scaramouche nods his head, even though he wants to rip his hands away and ask you to stop. You look at him like that, as if you truly care— but he knows you don't. You can't. No one has cared before, and you will not be any different.
You drop his hands, setting them carefully back down. Your every touch is soft and calculated, touching him as if you're scared he'll run. He has thought about it before, so you're not entirely wrong. Slowly, you reach for his face, cupping his cheeks in your hands. Scaramouche feels his pulse quicken beneath his skin, his face heat up from your proximity. You run your thumbs over the apples of his cheeks, and Scaramouche is unable to stop himself from leaning into your touch, from eagerly lapping up the scraps you've deigned to give him.
"I think I need to tell you again," you say softly, keeping your eyes locked with his own. "You're my good boy. Only mine. I won't let anyone take you from me." You lean forward, and Scaramouche is almost overwhelmed by your scent. You're everywhere, surrounding him— he wants to grab onto you and never let go, to hide in your comfort. Your lips brush against his cheek, and his breath hitches in his throat. You kiss his face gently, then lean away.
A small part of Scaramouche wants to ask you to do it again. He wants to ask you to run your fingers through his hair, to allow him this one moment of peace where he does not need to concern himself with worldly affairs. But to ask would be selfish; to ask would mean demanding more from you than you've allotted him. He must be grateful for what you've given him so far. The rest of him wants to ask you to stop already, to quit pretending like he matters to you.
You hum, and gently push him into your embrace. Scaramouche shudders and closes his eyes.
Maybe, he can allow himself this small moment with you.
heizou
To Heizou, you are everything.
You are the opposite of sin. You are light, bereft of all evil and darkness. You are purity itself, a paragon of virtue: you are what every being should strive to be. You are beauty itself, ethereal and kind— you are incapable of vice, of committing the same evils as mankind. Heizou will listen when you call for him, when you ask for his presence. You can do no wrong. Anything you touch, you purify. Your mere presence could water any wilted flower, resuscitate any withering life form. To Heizou, you are the earth that holds up the world and the sky that contains it. You are the ground he walks upon, the mountains he climbs; you are infallible, immune to temptation.
As your hands run through his hair, Heizou has to stop himself from begging for more. Your touch is holy and sacred. To feel your fingers, your hands, your warmth— it’s a nauseating pleasure. Heizou feels almost drunk on you. He can only barely resist the urge to grab your hands and force them down his body, until every inch of himself is coated in your light— until he’s entirely yours, both in body and mind, until any being could look upon him and know who has marked him.
He shivers when your hands brush against the base of his neck. Heizou makes a small sound of obedience, looking up at you on your throne through half-lidded eyes. A part of him feels slightly embarrassed that you’re seeing him in such a pathetic state, but the rest of him can feel only pride as he stares at his reflection in your eyes. You’re staring at him, no one else. Your hands are tangled through his hair, intermittently tugging and pulling; you’re doing this to him, not to another. Nobody is worthy of you, not even him— but the rest only worship you in name. None of them strive to be like you as he does, not one of them understands your ideals as he does.
“You’re such a good boy, Heizou.” You run your thumb over his lips, laughing at his imploring gaze. Heizou feels adrenaline rush through his veins at your praise. He’s done good by you! You praised him! His greatest wish has always been to please you, to leave you satisfied with him— to hear your voice say what he has only imagined you saying before leaves Heizou breathless.
“Such a cute boy.” A playful smile tugs at your lips. Heizou’s heartbeat quickens at your words, his face bursting with color. You cup his face in your hands and he leans forward, smiling at your touch. "I want to hear you say it. You're only my good boy."
Heizou's smile widens, his eyes looking up at you with awe. His heart clenches and threatens to burst at the thought of announcing he's yours. He has only dreamed of you claiming him, of entering your fold and becoming yours entirely. He wouldn't mind it if you changed parts of him to better fit your preferences; anything until he's truly worthy of you, anything to deserve your eyes on him, for him to continue to breathe in your presence.
"Only yours," he says, voice weak. "I'm only yours. Only your good boy."
diluc
Diluc shuts his eyes when you call for him.
It's not that he doesn't desire to look at you. No, it's that he can't tear his eyes away from you once he does. You are everything— perfect in every way. You do not desire anything from him, only that he worship you. In return, he receives your love, your guidance. Diluc doesn't know what he's done to deserve your preference, but he would not deny you anything he could provide for you. If you ask for his presence, he will arrive at your beck and call. If you want to touch him, Diluc will lay still until you've had your full. If you desire for his eyes to look upon you, he will open them, however reluctantly.
As Diluc takes in your form, his heart roars with all the strength of a wildfire. Your throne is etched with intricate, glistening jewels; multifaceted and multicolored. The loveliest riches can buy; yet, they still look so lacking in comparison to you— beauteous and heavenly you. You will always stick out in Diluc's mind. He has long etched your appearance into his memories, long unforgettable no matter how many years past. He could spot you, even if he's long since weathered from old age and if he's forgotten who he is. He could never forget you, his god; the one he worships above all else.
"Come here, won't you?" You say coyly. You phrase it like a question, but Diluc knows it's an order. His legs move him towards you before he even has any time to fully register your words, so used to following your orders. Diluc is only this complacent for you. He has thought about telling you before, uttering every thought he has of you, of showcasing just how much you consume his every waking moment. But he's sure you must already know, which is why you tap your lap.
"Rest your head here," you say. "You've been working so hard for me, haven't you? I think you deserve a break."
Diluc's heart stutters in his chest. His body awkwardly kneels before you, and with a small pause of hesitation, Diluc slowly lays his head on your lap.
You hum in contentment. "Good boy," you say, and with no prior warning, untie his hair. You move with no rush, slowly threading your fingers through his bright red hair. Diluc, however, is still reeling from your words, repeating them to himself like a mantra. Good boy? If it were anyone else, he would've found the words distasteful, almost mocking. Perhaps he would've gone so far as to completely cut off whoever would dare to utter such a thing to him. But from you, the words spark a desire. A desire for more, a desire for you to stay with him for a little longer. Diluc does not like to be without you— the comfort you bring like the warmth of a familiar embrace. His eyes flutter close when your hands find a particular sensitive spot, goosebumps lining his flesh. He hides his face in your lap before his brain can catch up with his movements.
Just as Diluc almost scrambles away and apologizes, you laugh. He freezes at the sound, face burning at how angelic your laughter is, then shudders as you resume playing with his hair.
"Good boy," you say again. "Just my good boy."
Diluc gulps loudly, averting his eyes. He leans into your lap again.
kaeya
Kaeya should hate that he can't bring himself to detest you.
You are perfection personified. You are virtuous, kind, and loving. Once, Kaeya hated you. He hated your image, your faux benevolence. You were the cause behind his suffering, the perpetrator; if you held even an inkling of love for him that so many claimed you did, none of what happened to him should've come to pass. Yet, they did, and there were only two logical conclusions: either you did not exist, or you did not care.
Kaeya denied you entry. He refused to allow himself to just be mere entertainment to you. He refused to let you diminish him to nothing more than your plaything. He would not be thrown away, used and discarded. He would not let his years of guilt, regret, and sorrow be reduced to something you could just gawk at. His pain was not for you to see. His grief was not for you to analyze. It was his own, not yours. If you were real, you would have to prove yourself to him; not the other way around.
"Kaeya," you coo. He snaps to attention, shuddering from the softness of your voice. Slowly, like he is truly afraid of upsetting you even in this small way, Kaeya raises his head. Kneeling before you should feel shameful, after everything. He should be ashamed to kneel before the one person responsible for everything he has endured. But Kaeya has long since accepted the way you make him feel, that absolute sense of security. He has long since foregone his own ego, pride and dignity. When it is just the two of you, Kaeya is nothing more than your sick, devoted worshiper.
"Kaeya," you say again, a small chuckle leaving your lips. Kaeya's mind feels dazed, almost, the sound of your voice saying his name leaving him weak. He wants to ask you to say his name again, and again, until he can never forget it. Until it's so embedded into his mind that even when he dies, he'll hear it clearly, ringing out like a loud clap of thunder. He never wants to forget the way you make him feel. "Come here to me, my good boy."
With an almost puppy-like eagerness so unlike him, Kaeya moves toward you. Your words, your praise, your attention; all of it is directed onto him. To be the only one standing in your gaze, the only one in the reflection in your eyes, feels more right than anything else in his life has felt before. To imagine being beside you in such a way leaves Kaeya yearning. All too quickly, Kaeya is kneeling directly at your feet.
You tap your lap. "Sit here."
Kaeya blinks. Then, he smirks. "What's this about?" he asks, but he's hurriedly moving on his feet to do as you ordered, excited at the prospect. For the one moment where he rises above you, Kaeya finds himself feeling vaguely sick. Such a position is unnatural. To be above you, even in this sense— is wrong. He quickly bows his head as he settles himself into position, and leans into you when you snake your arms around his waist and tug him closer to your chest.
"Good boy." You praise him so easily he almost feels silly for getting so happy about it. But still, Kaeya's heart thumps in his chest and melts when you rub the sides of his abdomen. This warmth, this affection; this safety and peace that only comes when he is around you. This is why Kaeya has found himself unable to hate you as easily as he did in the past— he realized as soon as he could comprehend the love from your control— all of his suffering, his pain and agony; all of it was meant to lead back to you. If Kaeya had to live through all of it again for you, he would.
You are heaven given form. To worship you so closely; nothing would be too much of a price.

YALL
Imposter AU
But the true creator can use the spirits of beloved followers to help in battle (or in everyday situations)
Like
Imagine having to fight the Raiden Shogun, but Makoto's spirit shows up to assist
Or running from Kaeya/Diluc, when Crepus pulls you away from an incoming attack
Hell, want to make it really painful?
Zhongli seeing Guizhong after so many years, only to feel utterly crushed that she was helping the one he thought was a fake.
OR
Venti trying to capture you, but he stops short when the spirit of his friend stands in front of you, shielding you from harm
Just.

They are the first to become your vessels.
The first to fight with you.
The first to know of you.
It’s something they brag and hold in high regard. Even if you don’t use them as a vessel anymore, they still hold the title of being first. Something that not even the Archons can deny. They let the others know how much they did for you; how much they care for you and you, them.

The twin you chose will silently brag, confident that they’re the main vessel that, no matter what, they are a vessel you will always see and use when the time is right. It makes them happy, euphoric even. They put you above all else, because you are worth more than anything else. They view you as kind and understanding, for you are the only one to truly provide aid, even if it is limited. They know you’d travel with them to the ends of Teyvat to find their twin.
Located deep within the teapot was a room that only they could enter, a room where they, with the help of a certain alchemist, were able to form your body. Even if it isn’t completely stable, nor usable, to a certain extent. Your body couldn’t walk, but eating and talking was enough to satisfy the twins’ needs. The twin rests their head against your thighs, their hands squeezing at the soft flesh, staring at you with pure adoration. You run your fingers through their hair, and they talked about their journeys and travels, even if you know it all, had seen it all arise—you let them speak.
“Anything. My God, I’d do anything.”
“You’re so good to me.” Your voice comes out as a whisper as you grow tired, your spirit and mind slipping back into the twin’s body, the form made for you falls limp into their arms. They hold on to your fragile form, their lips brushing against that of your body.
They love you, the true God of Teyvat.
══════ ♡ ══════
Amber can’t help but stay close to your side. The mere mention of your name in Mondstadt has her running to where you are. As you fight enemies, you might just catch a glimpse of an arrow brimming with flames, setting off attacks, before you could even pull out your sword. She is devoted; she is utterly and completely yours.
Feeling you within her, your thoughts become hers and her actions becoming yours. She fights with all she has, a sigh of relief leaving her mouth. She finds strength in your words as she finds courage in the wind. She’d do anything to please you, even if that meant fighting Stormterror alone. She’d do it without a second thought. Her hands run over her covered arms, shuddering at the feeling. It isn’t you, but she feels you. Happily allowing you to use her, even in the moments when she experiences death, and wakes up beside a statue as if nothing took place. As you worry or fret over her.
“Please. Forgive me! Let me try again!”
“Alright.” She is desperate, for she knows the wrath of a God. They are cruel, for when the Anemo Archon is upset, the winds blow and trees howl, and renders her unable to ride the winds. Yet you, your anger, is never that great nor frightening, and you indulge her in her delusions.
She is obsessed with you, obsessed with the idea of you.
══════ ♡ ══════
Kaeya is a flirt till the end, but will not hide the feeling of wanting to be wanted. He is honest, but at the same time, he denies such emotions. He easily laughs at the Archons, admitting that he is better than them, far more worthy than them. Far more needed and desired. His sword is tight in his hand, as he defeats his enemies within your name. The drink light in his grip as he drinks to you, staring at you through the traveler’s eyes.
A groan leaves his lips, sinking further into the plush blankets of your bed, a bed that only the traveler sleeps in. A bed in which your scent, your smell transcends that of reality and radiates off the blankets. He’d at the worst get scolded by the twin, but for now, it doesn’t matter. Your smell is intoxicating, and he makes him weak. Feeling his hips rut into the mattress, shoving his nose deeper into the sheets. He loves, love, love, love, loves you. His hands gripped the thick blankets, a muffled groan leaving his lips. His eye patch discarded to the side. Maybe one day, shivers ran down his spine, rubbing himself against the mattress. If he was so lucky, you’d walk in. Walk in on him, his hips sputtered to a stop, a groan leaving his lips, and maybe even join him.
“I’ve been waiting for you.” His voice is sweet as the Traveler returns, clearly tired from the day’s venture. Watching you offer him a smile, before plopping face forward into the bed, you can’t tell, but the twin can. They give him a knowing look, but say nothing.
The bed smells like him.
══════ ♡ ══════
Lisa would consider herself the calmest of the group, and the most to treat you as an average human. Ignoring the glares sent her away when she calls your name and not that of your title. Now don’t mistake her for being the least loyal. She worships you just as much as the others. Wiping out those who whispers out dreadful things about you, sharing stories and tales of you whenever it feels right to. She loves you.
Her fingers drummed against the book, watching you read, trying to gather information of creatures. Creatures abnormal to that of Mondstadt and from across the sea in Inazuma. She pretends as if she isn’t paying attention, simply indulging herself in the important novels, a pleasant smile on her face. Every time you ask of what she’s reading, she simply shrugs, saying it’s boring. Her fingers fiddling with the edges of her skirt, before sliding it upwards. Her expression neutral, she lets nothing slip as she imagines you, from mere pictures that were painted. Imagines it’s you and her in the smutty erotic novels she reads, you and her closer than ever. Trading her fingers with yours, she bites her lips.
“Is the book good?”
You ask again and her gaze flickers to you. Before looking at the pages. She lets out an airy hum and a small chuckle. She closes the book with one hand, staring at you again. “It could be better. Though--” She pauses, pressing her legs together, as she slides her wet hand through her thigh, drying them off slightly and brings them to her lips, as if she was merely thinking.
“It was an enjoyable read.”
══════ ♡ ══════
They are the first to become your vessels.
The first to fight with you.
The first to know of you.
It’s something they brag and hold in high regard. It isn’t something that the archons could take away. They never would attempt, lest it displease you. Though one day, the twins vow, locking the door to the room where your body is hidden.
No one is worthy enough to see that of your true form, not in person.

Some time ago, in Mondstadt:
Tumblr media
Kaeya watches the healer scan his body with their elemental power. Their hands hover over his chest, emitting a soft glow as they check his lungs. The cavalry captain had insisted he'd be alright many times, yet Eula persisted in having him checked out, hence how he ended up in the med bay within the Favonious headquarters.
Whatever happened on Dragonspine, he knew it had to do with the Creator disappearing. After that blinding flash of light, he felt as if he died, only to painfully resurrect moments later. As good as the healers were, they wouldn’t find the answer to the ache in his chest. That much he was certain of.
An involuntary shudder washes over his body, making the healer pause and look up with concern.
“Don’t worry.” He tries to humor the situation, “you can't make me feel worse than before.”
Almost instantly, Eula smacks the side of his shoulder and sends him a stern glare. “You’ve got some nerve joking in a situation like this. I will have vengeance for that.”
Despite her words, Kaeya knew she cared, probably too much, considering what he’d done behind the Knights’ backs.
“Alright, alright.” He lays back against the pillows of the bed and accepts his fate silently.
There was no use arguing and no use talking about the situation, not with the healer present. Any word about what happened, and chaos would ensue.
Mondstadt had been through enough already.
Kaeya and Eula would both keep their silence until they were alone in the med bay.
The healer continues to carefully examine his state with the help of their vision until they conclude nothing was wrong. At least, nothing physical.
In the end, Kaeya got diagnosed with overexertion of his body and mind, with the simple cure of needing bed rest. It's something he despised more than grape juice or people prying into his private affairs, especially with the situation as confusing and dire with the Creator disappearing.
“Well,” Kaeya breaks the silence in the medbay once the healer had left. He lays comfortably against the pillows as he looks up at his companion, “I did tell you I felt fine.”
Saying that had been a stupid jab at Eula’s worry for him. As the words leave his mouth, he instantly regrets them. Kaeya can’t place why he’s feeling so worked up.
“You might have fooled that healer, but you can’t fool me. I suggest you stop lying and be honest with me, or I won’t be so patient in the future.” Eula’s voice snaps back at him, cold and sharp.
He places a hand on his chest. “If there ever is another time where I’ll be hiding the Creator from my friends, you’ll be the first one to know.”
“Do not tell me you actually believe that nonsense!” Eula gestures her hands angrily in the air, “ ‘The Creator?’ How could you be so foolish?”
He frowns. It seems yet another person failed to sense the aura of the Creator.
Kaeya wonders what caused this troubling phenomenon.
He lets out a deep sigh. Even if he wanted to argue back, there was no way Eula would believe him. That, and the fact that his chest felt as if it had been caving in on itself.
Eula brushes a strand of light blue hair out of her face. She seems to have grown calmer, or perhaps simply tired of the same back and forth arguments. ”Kaeya, you cannot hope that Amber or I will be able to keep this quiet from Jean.”
”I was never planning to.”
Eula raises an eyebrow, urging him to continue.
”She already knows. Or so, I assume. There is no reason why Albedo or I would keep silent after what happened.”
The cavalry captain watches Eula’s expression shift. She first seems to thoroughly inspect him and his own expressions, then, she glances away and mulls about his statement.
When she turns her head to ask him for more, the door is slammed open.
In a fury of rage, a familiar person dressed in red and black enters the rooms like a raging inferno. Red hair frames a face that radiates both coldness and burning hate.
Kaeya had somehow anticipated Diluc, of all people, to come and scold him of all the things he’d done. He just hadn’t expected it to be so soon, and in the Favonious’ headquarters as well.
” You .” Diluc’s voice is filled with resentment.
With the element of surprise on Diluc's side, he’s already at Kaeya’s side before Eula could interject. An angry glare is glued tightly onto his face. If Kaeya hadn’t been laying as pathetically on the flimsy bed, he was sure Diluc would’ve grabbed him, trying to shake some sense into his brain as he did.
“How stupid could you be.” Diluc continues, his tone shifting from anger to disbelief. “Trying to help an imposter?” He lets out a chuckle of disbelief, turning away and back at Kaeya as his mind tries to catch up. “I knew the Knights were incapable, but this truly takes the cake of it all.”
Eula steps forward, her arms crossed as she interjects. “Excuse me?”
“Oh please,” Diluc turns his attention towards the woman. “You’re telling me you weren’t there when the imposter ran away?”
“We were busy fighting. Kaeya–” She whips her head towards the cavalry captain as she speaks, “is the one who caused this situation.”
Diluc seems to agree with that statement, crossing his arms and closing his eyes for a tense moment. Still, he argues her own actions. “Busy fighting each other over capturing the imposter?”
“No we were– Eula’s words remain stuck in her mouth.
“You were… what…?” Diluc taunts her. He seemed close to bursting into flames out of anger.
It is Kaeya who finishes the sentence for her. “We were busy fighting the other Albedo, though, you seem to know about that already.”
Despite the situation, Kaeya’s voice holds a teasing tone and he seems comfortable laying in the bed as the two remain equally angry as confused.
“You cannot believe me to trust your or Albedo’s words after you so inadequately helped bring yet another disaster to Mondstadt.” Diluc seems done with Kaeya. He speaks the next words to Eula instead, “Care to explain?”
She lets out a chuckle, “I don’t have to explain anything to you, Ragnvindr.”
And because Diluc no longer is affiliated with the Knights of Favonious, she really doesn’t have to. This puts the redhead in a tough situation that leads to him being even more frustrated. Red eyes watch as Eula leaves the medbay with confidence and silent pride.
Diluc utters a few profanities as he follows Eula.
One last glare gets sent into the cavalry capitain’s direction before the door is slammed shut one final time.
Kaeya sits alone on the bed until he passes out.
Tumblr media
A few days have passed since the incident on Dragonspine. The place has been closed off for the time being, with the sole exception of Albedo who remains on the snowy mountain, although unlikely in solitude.
Kaeya had carefully approached the topic a few times with Jean and Lisa, but both had kept their lips sealed, and thus Kaeya was left to speculate what had happened with the doppelganger and the missing Creator.
What connection could the two have…?
Moreover, Kaeya had no opportunity to inspect the situation. While Jean was as forgiving as kind, she too had her limits, and she’d do anything to keep Mondstadt safe and running for as long as she was Acting Grand Master.
“Thought we had it bad, but…” The patron in Angel’s Share talks loud enough for the full tavern to hear his story, including Kaeya. “The assassination of the geo archon, or Rex Lapis– whatever , is bound to bring ruin to Liyue Harbor.”
Another person laughs heartily, raising a glass in a toast.. “I’ll drink to that!”
“Mondstadt doesn’t have an Archon either, though.” Laughter falters and Kaeya hears a loud smack echo over the general chatter of the tavern.
“Just drink up, asshole.”
Whatever brought the cavalry captain to Angel’s share, it gave him more information than he could hope for.
A happy coincidence, the first stroke of good luck in days.
“Oh my,” Kaeya grabs the half-empty glass of Death After Noon and turns around in his seat. “How unfortunate must I be to hear the news later than you do.”
With him facing the group of gossiping patrons, he’s able to note that most of them are Fatui. Their masks are all discarded, forgotten at the Goth hotel, no doubt, but they continue to wear their uniform in the tavern. It’s likely that they’d been overworked and drank a few too many glasses of wine or beer and had forgotten their loose lips.
“Hey… isn’t that… ”
Before the group can grow suspicious, Kaeya waltzes over to the table surrounded by Fatui, dragging his own chair with him and inserting himself into the group.
Kaeya smiles, “Now now, I’m just an ordinary costumer.” He puts on his best mask despite the increasing pain in his chest. “Though, I know the best gossip before anyone else. Seems like you were ahead of me this time.”
One of the more inebriated Fatui members laughs loudly, his belly shaking as he does. “You hear that! This guy thinks he’s something, huh?”
“Shut up, idiot!”
“Nu-uh. You’ve been ruining our fun ever since we started drinking. If you’re gonna be such an uptight prick, leave .”
“Whatever. It’s your funeral.”
Tension rises amongst the Fatui, and it’s clear that not everyone has forgotten to keep their mouths shut. Kaeya had to tread lightly if he wanted to prevent causing harm to the diplomatic alliance of Snezhnaya and Mondstadt. But luck seemed to be on his side, and the Fatui member that previously tried to silence the group stood up and left.
Probably the best thing they could do, given their superiors.
Kaeya was only half sorry for the punishment these Fatui would get once he’d gather the intel and share it with Jean.
“How unfortunate.” Kaeya smiles as brightly as he can, “Some people just can’t seem to loosen up.”
The group agrees with him, and he’s considered one of them by the time he gives them a free round of drinks. Kaeya no longer has to put in any effort to retrieve the information as it’s handed to him on a silver platter.
“So,” one Fatuus stares at another, “He was just killed?”
“Fell straight out of the sky. Believe me, Alexey swore to the Tsaritsa he saw it with ‘is own eyes.”
A fatuus shoves the other nearly out of his seat, “You’re lying. You can’t just kill an Archon. Don’t be stupid.”
“But if it’s—”
“You think…”
There’s a brief silence after the murmurs, and Kaeya instinctively leans closer. The Fatui look at each other and then hang their heads low. The cheerful atmosphere from before has instantly dissipated.
The Fatui seemed to have realized that their superiors might have been involved, something that doesn't seem too far-fetched in Kaeya's eyes.
The cavalry captain makes up his mind and leaves whatever is left of his Death After Noon on the table, making a half-hearted excuse to leave so he can report back to Jean.
Tumblr media
Before going to the headquarters, Kaeya stops and thinks that the death of the geo Archon might be too far-fetched to be true. However, with the recent descent of the Creator and their defect aura, nothing seemed ordinary anymore. For the small chance the intel to be true, he’d have to try.
So, he shared everything with Jean. If he were to be caught keeping any information from her at this point, he’d be digging his own grave. And for the slim chance of the news being true, he’d bring in extremely valuable information.
Jean crosses her legs. “We know.”
“You know?” Kaeya blinks.
He’s stunned.
The Acting Grand Master simply smiles and tells him not to worry, but that only causes the pain in his chest to rise.
Lisa chimes in. “Say, what were you doing in Angel’s share during work hours?”
Drinking to chase away the feeling of impending doom,
“Gathering intel, as you heard.”
Kaeya leans back into the chair across Jean’s. Certainly doing nothing wasn’t good for Mondstadt either. Why would Jean choose to ignore the death of Liyue’s Archon, especially if she confirmed the news to be true?
The mask of confidence falters and Kaeya’s voice turns to something unrecognizable to himself, “I don’t think this is good.”
“What isn’t?” Jean shares a quick look with Lisa before returning her gaze to Kaeya.
“Doing nothing.” He sighs and puts his hands on the desk, leaning closer. “I know you don’t believe me, really , I don’t blame you.” He hesitates, “But now with the death of Rex Lapis?”
Kaeya puts his weight on one armrest, leaning with his arm over to the side. He thinks about all the stupid ways he can put this, a way to see the Creator again, but the situation continues to grow more and more complex.
He can no longer act alone.
“Jean,” Lisa’s voice interrupts the silence. “Perhaps it would be time to send a diplomat to assess the situation in Liyue.”
Kaeya can’t believe his ears. Was he hearing this correctly?
She continues, “The situation is growing beyond our control and it’d be best to confront this problem before rumors can spiral and cause panic.”
The cavalry captain turns his head from Lisa to Jean. Whatever prompted the librarian to come to his aid, he’d be reaping the benefits.
“Oh my,” he starts slickly, ”That does seem like a good idea. After all, if the Fatui already knows, we should have all the juicy details as well.”
Jean sighs, she rubs her thumb between her eyebrows in a helpless way. After a moment, she looks up again.
Her voice sounds exhausted, ”So, who do you suggest?”
Lisa chuckles, ”Without any cavalry, our captain here might have the most free time on his hands. Especially if he’s been caught drinking in Angel’s share during work hours.”
A small jab in his direction, but Kaeya takes it as a compliment. ”Excellent idea, Lisa.”
While he shares an equally mischievous glance with the librarian, he hears Jean ruffle some papers. ”Okay–”
Kaeya smiles-
” –but only if you take Diluc with you. ”
Kaeya´s expression darkens.
”Diluc, really?” he suppresses the disappointment in his voice.
”He was the one who told me about Liyue’s predicament, and he is more than capable of handling situations like these.”
If Diluc had heard of the incident before Kaeya, it was most likely due to a city lockdown, which might have delayed his business between Dawn Winery and the partners he had in Liyue. This meant Diluc would be going to Liyue regardless of this conversation, and considering Jean's adamant decision, going with Diluc would be better than not going at all.
”...fine.”
Jean seems to relax and sends him a warm smile. ”I’ll be expecting you to act as the Mondstadt’s diplomat, keep that in mind. Report to me if you find anything noteworthy.”
Kaeya stands up from his seat. ”You know I won’t disappoint, Acting Grand Master.”
When the door closes shut behind Kaeya, Lisa moves to sit in the now vacant chair across Jean. She sends her a warm smile, which fails to bring ease to the Acting Grand Master. Jean throws her head into her hands in a desperate attempt to hide her stress.
“Lisa.” The blonde lifts her head, “Did you really think it was wise to send him? Shouldn’t we keep this between the four of us?”
The librarian leans back into the chair, crossing her legs comfortably once she’s settled, and calmly sighing. “If he stays here, he’ll pry until he figures it out.” Lisa turns a finger in the air. “And I do believe Diluc would keep a close eye on him for us.”
“Still…”
“Don’t worry so much,” Lisa places her hand over Jean's. “We’ll figure out what’s going on.”

divine favor
summary: so, they’re your favorite vessel. how do they react? includes yae miko, itto, kazuha, kaeya, chongyun, and noelle, in that order
word count: ~800

yae miko — out and proud
uses her connection to the divine as leverage almost every chance she gets, showing off the extra gleam to her vision eagerly. occasionally teases ei over the fact that she’s the favorite, not the literal archon. she’s maybe a bit surprised herself at that fact at first, but she’s not about to let that show when using it for her wants is so much more interesting.
“Please, of course I know what I’m doing. I wasn’t chosen by the divine for nothing.”
itto — show off
literally the moment you log off after wishing him for the first time he meets up with the gang to celebrate. it doesn’t matter if you only brought him to level 20 or instantly fully leveled him, he goes on about it for hours. any changes to his weapon would be shown off, and if you get his signature then he’s incredibly proud of it. sometimes he pokes fun at kujou sara because of his glider, but shinobu usually keeps it quiet enough nothing bad really happens. it’s not like sara can do much since he’s a favored vessel, but the gang doesn’t have to know that.
“Guys, come here! No, it’s not an onikabuto this time, look! I got a new sword today, isn’t it cool?”
kazuha — doesn’t exactly hide it
kazuha never gloats or tells stories when they aren’t wanted, but… instead of climbing down the mast when returning from the crow’s nest, he’s more commonly seen jumping from the side, letting his glider catch him. despite being an inazuman native, his time with you has made him an expert at gliding, a fact typically seen in the delicate fold of his glider every time his feet touch the deck. he makes sure to take care of it, running his fingers through the soft, feather-like mechanisms on its surface partly to remove any salt built up, but also because he likes the feeling.
“It was the chance of fate that allowed me to become so close to my god. Nothing more, nothing less.”
kaeya — flashy in the front, “what the fuck” in the back
he hadn’t expected to become a vessel so soon in your journey, but adapted quickly. you were early in your journey throughout teyvat, so he honestly expected you to drop him once you got someone more powerful, someone you surely liked more. and then you didn’t. and then he’s suddenly fighting with impossible speed and strength, his vision a sharp, glittering blue, and with every day that passes where he’s still the subject of your favor, the shock sets in a bit more. he doesn’t even go to the angels share the night he’s triple crowned, too dazed to try and interact with people, instead laying in his bed and staring at the ceiling.
“Why would i be their favorite? …Don’t tell me you’ve gone and started questioning the divine now, have you?”
chongyun — disbelieving
literally in shock the entire day after he’s been wished. also doesn’t matter how much you prepared for him, he’s stunned. he can feel his power grow, his claymore something new and so much sharper, a glider he doesn’t quite know how to use yet now at his disposal. once the shock wears off he has to take a few hours to calm himself down and keep from overheating, most likely with the help of xingqiu, xiangling, and the cool breeze by the ocean.
“I-I don’t know what I did… I’ve never even properly exorcised a demon—am I really worthy of this?”
noelle — oh jeez oh god oh wait oh jeez-
similar to kaeya, she was surprised that she was chosen so quickly, but rationalized it just as fast. she was to be a stepping stone, someone to protect you early on, a transient phase while you got your standing in teyvat. yes you leveled her, yes you took her with you to liyue, but that’s just because you hadn’t gotten anybody better, right? you didn’t… she wasn’t really your favorite, right..? poor noelle, it takes you fully ascending her for her to finally acknowledge your favoritism. though she doesn’t know what she’s done to earn this spot, she’s more than proud of it, taking the badge of her vision more seriously than her duties to the knights.
“It doesn’t matter what I’ve done to earn this place, what matters is that I do my very best to keep it.”

Sagau!Headcanon about a creator!player who has favoritism over the Khaenriahns and the dragons (whether they are Vishaps or even the Sovereigns).
Creator!player has favoritism over Khaenriahns, where they always fawn over Kaeya and dote on Albedo. They always accompany them wherever and just listen to them ramble on a topic they are interested in. For Dainsleif, however, whenever they meet (during the Dainsleif quests, idk what to call these), creator!player just walks up to him silently and cups his cheeks gently, caressing them with gentleness and care that just shooks Dainsleif. Probably even sprinkling a little kiss on the cheek for when he needs to leave as a bid to say farewell and to keep safe.
Now, for creator!player who loves the dragons, they're heavily delighted to see the six vishaps in Erinnyes. They always pet them and even ride them as the vishaps just stroll around the place. They might also visit Apep and just listen to them talk for days and night, giving the dendro sovereign some much needed company. As for Neuvillette, creator!player just kinds of dote on him. They just accompany him and entertain his fascination with water tasting as they partake in it. Creator!player may even just hold his hand and even comfort him with a hug and words of reassurance after trials or whenever he is bewildered by human emotions.
"It's alright, Neuvillette, take your time. We'll walk through this, together."

Ever since the traveler breaks the wall that separates their lives from the dark reality about them being trapped in a game, music together with other factors has been a part of everyone’s lives. It’s not uncommon for foreign sounding music to be played everywhere, even in churches. Traveler songs being played together with new ones, old ones getting mixed up and rewritten to fit the new ones. While aware, sometimes you just forget that they are indeed alive and can interact with you.
You held the broom in your hands, pressing it close to your chest imagining a microphone, the ones that you can see at concerts and live bars. You put on your headphones, eyes fixated on the task of cleaning your room before the holiday ends. “When Marimba rhythm starts to play…”
Diluc pretends like he’s not paying attention to the song that you are currently singing. It’s not the same as the songs that he is used to hearing both from the locals and from the Bard god. It has a sensual tone on it and it bears an air of refinery that reminds him of the fallen aristocrats Mondstadts used to have. He doesn’t care about crowns and wealth but being named as an uncrowned king, he can’t help but imagine the two of us dancing in such a song. In, in his arms at the after hours of the tavern to the early hours of dawn. Maybe he’ll steal a kiss or two, that if you let him to.
Kaeya was having a late night drink when he heard the song that you are singing. It reminds him of that time he and Rosaria got so drunk they decided to climb Albedo’s laboratory but ended up watching Eula dance in the frozen waters (she chased them afterwards and chased them at work). Nobles sure love their fancy dances and he was not safe from Crepus’s dancing lessons as well. He can imagine the two of you dancing in the empty, semi-dim ballroom. Just the two of you, with the rich robes on your body and crown on his head. If he can’t run from his fate, he might just go embrace it if it means embracing you as his own.
Venti writes a song while he listens to you sing. He is so used to the songs of praise or song of tales but a song that tells about desire is something that is new to his ear. Serenades to exist in Teyvat but they don’t go as far as to tell the most intimate desires. They only go on the surface and barely scratch the realm of what love is supposed to feel. Tomorrow comes the musical revolution and for sure everyone who hears the song of the night will make something of the same liking. He hopes that before you descend, he will be able to write the best song that describes his whole heart.
Ayato finds himself a little flustered by the song. Inazuma just opened again a long time ago and the only references that he has on such subjects are those written by the locals and tales of his workers. It is safe to say that Inazuma is still in the age of conservatism even though it is now slowly advancing to be able to walk at the same pace as the other nations. He can’t help but stand up and away from his work, thinking about the lyrics of the song over and over. Bards sing about their feelings and poets make poems about the things that entices their feelings, does it mean you want someone to hold you close and bend you on the dancefloor? If so, he wants to be the one to do it.
Alhaitham was taking notes. Dances are not uncommon in Sumeru but it is also not something practiced freely until the traitorous sages fell from their thrones. Dances and arts in general are still in their toddler days and he is glad that they get references from other nations. He notes the song being sensual, a type of song that only sang on weddings or intimate dates. The type of dance that he wants to share with you. To pull you by the hand and cradle your head possessively while he glare at everyone who wants to get close. It’s not like he’s gonna let someone get close to you. Not the traveler, not the sages, and definitely not Kaveh. That or, maybe he’ll let Kaveh join in

Hello! i absolutely love your work <33 can i request sagau scaramouche rates your taste in genshin boys pt 2. with diluc, kaeya and zhongli??
SAGAU SCARAMOUCHE RATES YOUR TASTE IN GENSHIN MEN PT. 2
Tumblr media
❀ synopsis: you introduce your friend/unofficial sibling to your lover, what could possibly go wrong? everything...
❀ notes: AJNDJNEHBFH MY FIRST REQUEST!!! thank you so much for the support and reblogs, I'm also very honored you like my writing! here's the first part
❀ pronouns: none specified
Tumblr media
Diluc Ragnvindr: 2/10
Diluc is this 🤏 close to receiving a 1/10 if he continues to invade you and Scaramouche's sibling bonding time. Obviously, the two don't get along (and will probably never get along) due to Diluc's past and Scara's trust issues, the two argue a lot about you while you're just there vibing with the lamp grass unaware of the commotion.
He's heard of it all, the youngest Cavalry Captain who left the Knights to pursue Monstadt's enemies alone. He'd sometimes use his knowledge of Diluc's past to provoke him, and boy does it provoke him. The two went into a full-blown fistfight at one point, with the occasional use of a vision since their weapons have been thrown aside by the other.
Scaramouche is clingy to the ones who stay by his side, and Diluc is protective of the ones he loves, so you can imagine what it was like when Diluc saw you walking along with Scaramouche (who Diluc knows as the Balladeer, the 6th harbinger of the Fatui) when you told him that you would be introducing a very close friend of yours. It started with Diluc carrying you on his shoulder and running away, with a wild Scaramouche on his tail. And ended with Diluc being treated by Barbara and Scaramouche being treated by Nahida.
You really have to manage your time here, the two won't ever get along and if you spend more time with the other, the one you didn't spend time with will go visit the other and start demanding that they leave you alone. Diluc would wonder how you could ever tolerate and even care for Scaramouche, whatever your reason is he wouldn't be able to understand. Scaramouche would ask when will you break up with Diluc, and would pout if you reply that you wouldn't break up with him.
Tumblr media
Kaeya: 3/10
Just right next to Venti, and he would soon be ranked right next to his brother if Kaeya doesn't learn to shut the fuck up-
Arrogant, lazy, and a teasing prick. How many more traits can Kaeya have to piss people off? Scaramouche already looks down on humans, and seeing Kaeya with you disgusts him as he believes you deserve so much better. their first impressions of each other were bad, you can feel the tension in the air when the two just stood there with fake smiles.
He hates it when Kaeya tags along in your travels, even insisting on helping the both of you with your journeys when he has free time. Scaramouche would make a passive-aggressive comment on how the two of you don't need his help, and that you are both capable of defending each other. if you agreed to Kaeya joining Scaramouche would be appalled, before turning around so no one can see the expression on his face. Why did you agree??
The two are in a contest with how much they're provoking each other. If the other one breaks and lash out, the one who didn't wins. Their words to each other are sharp, and even when they're having a decent conversation with the other it's only when you're around, and even then it has slight undertones and hidden threats. Good lord, I hope you have a lot of patience.
Tumblr media
Zhongli/Rex Lapis/Morax: 4/10
You know that situation where someone's little sister is dating a boy and the big brother tries to be intimidating but the boy she's dating is taller and stronger than the big brother. Yeah that's the situation Scaramouche is in, but you are not a little girl nor is Zhongli just a human boy.
He's very annoyed with the situation, he's supposed to be the reliable one! What is this skyscraper of a man doing here?! Ngl he might be a tad bit insecure with the situation and would be at arm's length around you the entire time Zhongli was around the both of you. After the first few weeks of introducing him to Zhongli Scaramouche would notice just how pathetic this man is for you, and would find it amusing to watch.
Though it would soon turn to annoyance when Zhongli slowly starts dedicating all his time to you and going as far as to do his paperwork right next to you. This pet of yours is slowly turning into a pest, and he wants to get rid of it immediately. Zhongli would notice how Scaramouche is excluding him from your travels and would confront him about it in private. After the confrontation the atmosphere between the two became suffocating.
The only thing holding back Zhongli from throwing an entire mountain at the child was the fact that you and Scaramouche have a bond similar to siblings. The two of you insult each other but it never held any sort of ill-intent, and you both travel together frequently. Zhongli would rather die than be hated by you, and killing/hurting Scaramouche is a one-way ticket to being hated. So for now, he would just try to spend as much time with you, even if it means being next to the purple haired brat.

Be a Gladiolus in a Field of Belladonnas pt4
(Summary): After your sudden disappearance from the face of Tevyat, some people take the time to discuss their next move
Part 1 Last Part Next Part
✧ Masterlist ✧
(Characters): Diluc, Kaeya, Zhongli, Nahida, Venti, abyss prince!Aether, traveler!Lumine, Paimon
(Warnings): Not proof read, characters might be ooc
(A/n): I didn’t think a lot of people would enjoy this little idea, but hey I love writing stories and I hope you guys enjoy the rest that I have planned out
∘◦ ✧ ◦∘ means flashback
─────────── ✧ ───────────
It’s been a few weeks after your detainment and escape things have changed at the Dawn Winery, the once cheery mood you brought was now replaced with one of bitterness
The entire household have refrained from bringing up any mention of you so to not upset anyone, especially the master of the house
He’s taken up to locking himself in his study, completely drowning himself in work. It’s gotten to the point where the servants would urge him to eat a proper dinner instead of the small meals he would request sparingly
It looked like today would be just like that until a servant Moco announced that Diluc had a visitor
“Hello Diluc.” Kaeya said as he waved while leaning on the doorframe
“Agghhhh! Leave, I’m in no mood to deal with you!” Diluc grunted
“Aww don’t be like that, is it so wrong to see how my dear brother is doing?” The blue haired hand said as he sauntered towards his brother’s desk
“If I entertain you for 5 minutes will you leave?”
“Make it 10, then I’ll leave.”
“Fine…”
“So how have you been doing?”
“Good, I suppose. The knights have came to my door multiple times but haven’t but haven’t arrested me yet.” Diluc explains as he leans back on his chair. “I figure I should thank you for that.”
“I’ve been trying to explain that you don’t pose a threat to anyone, but ever since the failed execution and the traveler’s betrayal everyone’s been really tense.” Kaeya leans in towards Diluc. “Apparently the Creator is going crazy just looking for them.”
“By ‘them’ I assume you mean Mentir? If you’re here to get any information on their whereabouts then I can’t help you.” Diluc crossed his arms. “But I would assume you know their location when you were the one who aided in their escape.”
The cocky smirk on Kaeya’s face still held on but a slight panic flashed in his eye
“Whatever do you mean, dear brother?”
“Don’t play dumb with me,” Diluc asserted as he got out of his seat and was eye to eye with his brother. “I know you helped Mentir along with someone else!”
Kaeya’s face fell flat and began to make his way towards the window
“Throwing accusations that severe, are dangerous Diluc,” Kaeya feigned as he threw the curtains, after drenching the study in darkness he walked towards the door. “with how things have been, one wrong comment could cost someone their reputation or worse their life. He continued as he opened the door and looked down the hallway to see if someone was listening in. Seeing no one, he closed the door and locked it from the inside
Kaeya walked back to his previous spot and looked Diluc with a serious expression that is rarely seen
“I remember we always used to try to listen in on dad’s conversations but never heard a sound, I’m pretty sure I could yell at the top of my lungs and no one would hear.” The captain commented
“What are you getting at?”
“I’m just letting you know my appreciation for the soundproofing of this room.”
“That has nothing to do with you abetting the escape of a criminal!”
“Isn’t referring to Mentir as a ‘criminal’ a bit too harsh, I would assume you would call them something a lot nicer considering you opened your home to them.”
Diluc harrowed his eyes at Kaeya, getting ready to summon is claymore if need be
“Think about it, why would you a social recluse, let a stranger into your home who you just met in the forest at night?” Kaeya said as his movements became increasingly more genuine, a complete contrast from his controlled and practiced movements he would do when interrogated people for information. “Unless, their was something about them that felt familiar to you, an aura they radiated that you experienced before…” Kaeya put his hands on the desk and leaned in towards the redhead on the other side. “Like when you were used as a vessel…”
“Are you implying that Mentir is the Creator?!” Diluc spat back, his body language getting more visibly tense
“I’m not implying, I’m downright saying it.”
“If you knew Mentir was the Creator? Why didn’t you tell me about this?”
“Their name is (y/n) and I thought you wouldn’t want any information from a ‘heathenistic Khaenri’ahn spy’ dear brother.”
“Is you dropping this bomb on me the reason why you’re here?”
“I’m here to ask if you know the whereabouts of their Grace.”
“I don’t know, as I said before I would assume you have some idea on their general whereabouts.”
“That was the plan, Lumine was supposed to contact me when she found a safe place for them.”
“I could report you to the knights for spouting such blasphemous claims and conspiring against this ‘faker’ as you so claim.”
“Hehe. I know you won’t do that, want to know why? Because I know you and your sense of justice wouldn’t let you live with you turning me in.” Kaeya explained as he got up and walked towards the door before stopping and turning to Diluc. “And most of all, you don’t want to get rid of the remaining family you have left. Because no matter what we have between us, we’ll always be brothers. Least that’s what I think.”
As Kaeya walked out the door Diluc was left alone in complete darkness and with his thoughts
A truly awful combination
─────────── ✧ ───────────
In the neighboring of Liyue, two archons walk through Tianqiu Valley. The oldest and youngest of the Seven walk side by side admiring the scenery the region has to offer
“Your nation is magnificent, Mora.”
“Thank you, Buer. I’ve formed this nation into what their Grace would’ve liked.”
“What was the Creator like, before they died?”
“They were an amazing person, they had a wisdom and philocaly that I haven’t seen in any other being.”
∘◦ ✧ ◦∘
“Your Grace! Yahoo!” A high pitched voice called out
You turn your head to see Barbatos waving towards you and Morax
“Barbatos! How are you?” You gave the god a bright smile that rivaled the brightest of stars
“Wonderful, thank you very much.”
Morax scoffed at the laidback nature the wind god would often have when addressing you, seeing the behavior as childish at best and sacrilegious at worst. But you gave a little chuckle showing no contempt
“I see you brought your lyre, do you have a song you want to play?” You asked
“Why yes, your Grace! I actually wrote a song just for you.” Barbatos spoke
The deity readied his lyre and became playing his tune with the upmost care and passion. His fingers pluck the strings with grace he rarely shows
Once the ballad ends the smaller god looked at you expectantly
“Barbatos, that was lovely!”
“I don’t know why you entertain such foolishness, your Grace.”
“Don’t be like that Morax. Everything on this planet is beautiful in its own way.” You held your hand up as a crystal fly began to land on a finger. “Even from the most vibrant gardens to the moss that grows on rocks.” The crystal fly fluttered its wings as it flew away.
“Everything has a right to exist how it wants to exist.” You said as you watched the creature flying further out of sight
∘◦ ✧ ◦∘
“The sadness in their eyes is something that will never leave me no matter how long I’ll live.” Zhongli ended
“Ohh…” Nahida said as she looked down. “They seem to be very different from that, person.”
“They truly are but there is another reason why I called for you.”
Zhongli extended his hand and a petal appeared out of thin air. The petal didn’t appear to resemble any of the fauna native to Teyvat, it was light gold color and looked to be it was just plucked from the flower
A bright light blinded Nahida, shielded her eyes from the intense brightness
“You can open your eyes, Buer.” Zhongli spoke
Following his instructions, Nahida opened her eyes and was greeted by the sight of a massive library. The shelves nearly reached the tall ceiling, all containing books of multiple formats, including hardcovers, scrolls, stone tablets, you name it
“This domain once belonged to our Grace, but fell into mine and your hands when they fell.” Zhongli explained as he ushered Nahida to follow him. “In your previous form, you helped collect manuscripts pertaining to the Creator.”
“This collection much be very extensive, it puts the library at the House of Daena to shame. I would love to read at least a percentage from here!”
“Thank you, Buer. Once this issue has been resolved you’ll be free to read anything from here.”
Nahida was a bit too excited to notice Zhongli stopped walking and bumped into him. She took a step back and saw what the two were standing in front of
A door with an unknown symbol on the front of it
“What’s behind this door?” The dendro archon asked
“I don’t know, we’ve tried to open it but to no avail. The door was here when I first came here. I was hoping if there’s anything in the Akademiya that would give us some insight on how to open the door.”
“I’ll see what I can find. I do hope that we can see what this door is hiding.”
─────────── ✧ ───────────
The months in the abyss changed you, the once scared outlander transformed into a resilient fighter, both physically and emotionally.
You mastered sword fighting thanks to the training you had with Lumine. Once getting little nicks every time you and the traveler exchange blows, now someone who can keep up with her
Along with that one could say you radiated the same level of command your doppelganger had, but the thing that separated you from them is your compassion
You treated everyone as your equal, never holding your authority over the heads of everyone else. You showed respect even to the hilichurls and mages, never dreamed of raising a hand to anyone who displeased you (as if anyone would ever try)
“(Y/n)!” A high pitched voice brought you out of your thoughts
You turned around to see Paimon and the twins following close behind
“We’ve been looking for you all over the
“Paimon can you stop calling the Creator by their name, it’s very disrespectful.” Aether reprimanded
“It’s fine, I prefer it if you use my name anyway.” You explained
The floating fairy looked at Aether with a smug grin on her face
“Is there anything you want to talk to me about?” You asked
“Ahem! Well I came to see how you’re adjusting to life here, I can be very hard on those who just came from the surface.”
“I’m doing great actually, I wasn’t expecting to get used to being here this quickly.”
“That’s good to hear, I heard from Lumine that your training is coming along nicely.”
“Well, what can I say? When I have the renowned traveler teaching me.”
“Ohh stop it, you pick up the sword very quickly I ran out of things to teach you.” Lumine said trying to hide the blush creeping up on her face
“Lumine’s right, it’s almost like you wielded a sword before and were really good at it.” Paimon added
“You think so, hopefully I’m quick to learn abyssal magic.”
“I don’t think that would possible?” Aether said
“Why is that?” Lumine asked
“Because abyssal magic is a lot more complicated to control than the 7 elements, it would be easier if you learn said elements first.” The prince explained
“Really…?” You said as you stroked your chin. “Okay, then let’s get to learning the elements.”
“Uh, do you know what that would look like? It would mean that you would have to go and be out of the abyss.” Aether advised
“I can’t stay here forever, and I certainly can’t let that tyrant go punished. And besides…” You clasps your hands behind your back and leaned in towards the blond guy. “I’ll have you and Lumine with me!”
“WHAT?!”

The One Always Left Behind
(feat. Kaeya)
Tumblr media
❥Synopsis: He was one of the first to be chosen as Your vessel. He was happy, being used, being useful, and being showered by Your attention, but he can't help but wait for the other shoe to drop.
❥Content Warnings: SAGAU, cult au, religious themes, abandonment issues, angst
❥Author's Notes: Was taking a break from the event and was reading Kaeya & Diluc angst on ao3 then the next thing I knew I was writing this
Tumblr media
Kaeya remembered being abandoned, being placed with a mission and expectations, as a spy, as the last hope of Khaenri'ah. But he could forget, for a moment about those things when he was welcomed by Mondstadt and the Ragnvindrs with open arms.
But the thought was always in the back of his mind. When the day comes, can he choose between his duty and his adopted family? Can he choose between the father who abandoned him, a ruined nation that he is the hope for, and a family that loved him, a warm city that he had come to love and protect?
But then Crepus died, and all he could feel was—
Relief.
Shame.
Grief.
Guilt.
Kaeya remembered vividly well the day he acquired his Vision, but all the same he wishes to forget it. It was a common saying that to receive a Vision was to be acknowledged by the Gods, but to him, it was just a stark reminder that his momentarily bliss and happiness had come to an end.
Tumblr media
He had chosen to protect Mondstadt, and had finally stepped out of his adopted brother's shadow, one that he was so formerly afraid of doing.
He had replaced Diluc as the Cavalry Captain, became a spymaster—ironic, considering what he is—and all was well for the few years that Diluc was away.
And then he came back, and the all too familiar guilt had also came back. Especially when he saw that Diluc was not the same as back when they were younger.
But then again, couldn't he say the same for himself?
Perhaps that was why he couldn't help but prod and tease Diluc, if only to get a reaction from his once brother, even if it's only irritated growls and annoyance.
Kaeya remembered when he had first seen and met the Traveler. How interesting they were that they didn't hesitate to chase Stormterror away from a city that they're not affiliated with and couldn't help but be both grateful and suspicious.
Tumblr media
Grateful that they saved Mondstadt and being suspicious why did they in the first place. But meeting them himself, he could asses that they really just wanted to help, no ulterior motives. But that doesn't quite reduce his suspiciouns, or his questions.
Where did they came from? What are their motivations? And later he would wonder, how can they wield elemental energy without a vision?
Kaeya remembered the instance he was chosen to be a vessel. He was both afraid and in awe, feeling his body be guided by an unworldly being, feeling this mind-numbingly blissful warmth as he traversed in one of the Four Winds Temple.
Tumblr media
It was only after—when Amber and Lisa had expressed that they had felt the same—that he had found out from the Traveler that it was You.
Kaeya was not much of a believer of the Gods, but You were always the exception. For all that of Khaenri'ah hate the Gods, You were the sole exception. They worshipped and believed You, but only You. Not Celestia or the Archons, just You. And he was not an exception.
He barely remembered the prayers and rituals that Khaenri'ah had in honor of You but he remembered the Mondstadt traditions that Crepus had taught him.
Even to this day he did them, with some traditions he could remember from his homeland. He even blatantly wears Your symbol, showing off his devotion.
But finding out that You made him one of Your first vessel, that You have blessed him with Your warmth, blessed him Your attention, blessed him with strength, he couldn't help but dread for the future.
He enjoys Your attention, enjoys it when You use him with whatever it is that You wanted him to do, enjoys bragging about it with the drunkards at Angel's Share when it came out that the Creator themselves is checking up on Teyvat, enjoys picking on Diluc that he hasn't had his chance yet to be Your vessel, even as he felt both sad and guilty about it.
He was happy, and that scared him, because his happiness always seemed to have a time limit, because the source of his happiness always seemed to leave.
He was scared, afraid, terrified that he will once again be abandoned, be left alone, but it would be significantly worse because it was You.
His father had left him, cruelly and coldly abandoned in a stranger's house, even if came out alright in the end. Crepus had died and it was his fault that he couldn't help sooner. Diluc had left and it was his own fault for betraying his trust and confessing the truth in an ill-timed fashion.
They all had left.
So why wouldn't You?
Tumblr media
❥End Notes: This is my official plea as a Kaeya main to please give him some love
❥Q: Speaking of, who's your current main?

RANDOM BUT READER WHO DANCES🥰🥰🥰
Oh I love this!
I can't say I know too much about dance in general, but there are certainly a handful of characters who want to dance with you!!!
Diluc, Kaeya, Jean, and Eula are all familiar with various forms of formal dance, and they would love to dance with you! They can't imagine anything more beautiful than you dancing, if anything, they're going to drag down the performance!
Barbara would absolutely love to perform for you. It's a little less fancy than you might be used to, she'll think... But she's going to give it her all!!
Venti, Zhongli, and Ei would love to teach you the traditional forms of dance from their nations. They'd see it as an incredible honor for you to know any of the arts their people cultivated.
With differing energies, Xinyan and Yun Jin would love you to oversee their performances and rehearsals. If you want, they'll teach you the choreography too!
Ayaka wants to perform for you too. She's come up with many performances for you in the past, maybe now is the time for her to finally show you...
Nilou is jumping for joy the moment she hears of your love for dance. Perhaps she could not see the Goddess of Flowers dance, but perhaps she can see you. Maybe she'll get to learn from The Divine One themselves. And of course, she practices even harder than normal to make sure any performance you see of hers is a great one!
For his part, Cyno can't say he can dance for you. But he'd like to observe. If for no other reason than to simply be in your presence.

I've seen many a story of the Creator and their followers, how devoted the acolytes are to their master, how the God Of All Things is held in such high reverence...
...but wouldn't that get lonely after a while?
I like to imagine the moments when the followers throughout Teyvat begin to see the Creator not as a god, but as a person. Someone with emotions, likes and dislikes, a real personality.
Childe enjoys your smile. He sees you smile at the birds, at flowers you've picked, at the others when they do something silly... sometimes, if he's feeling bold, he'll ruffle your hair or pinch your sides playfully, and he delights when you jokingly punch his shoulder in retaliation.
Al Haitham and Tighnari listen with rapt attention when you speak on subjects you're passionate about. It could be something you're all intrigued by, or something only you know and understand. Tighnari will occasionally ask questions or give his input, speaking to you like you're a colleague, or perhaps a trusted friend he can debate with. Al Haitham acts like he's reading, but really, he's listening to your conversation with Tighnari. If he feels like it, he might even say something to add a bit of flavor to the debate.
Whether you have the voice of a cooing dove or a squawking crow, Barbara and Venti love it when you sing with them. Even if you only chime in with a line or two, they still love it. Barbara definitely will take your hands and spin you around when she's happy. Venti will play his lyre to help you relax after a long day.
Above all else, Diluc appreciates your company. Even if you aren't saying anything to one another, he enjoys being in your presence. You don't see him as a respected but aloof businessman, or a stoic wall of a man, or someone to be fawned over and treated delicately. No, you see him for who he is; a lonely man who lost his father and brother just a bit too early. You don't expect anything of him, and he appreciates it.
Kaeya is much the same as his brother. You see through his jokes and false arrogance. You don't mind it if he comes to you with a shy frown instead of a confident grin. You're happy to listen to his troubles or to simply sit in silence when he needs it. You soothe him the way no one else has in a very long time.
When it comes to Zhongli, he adores the innocent outlook you seem to have. Even if you've traveled the land of Teyvat a hundred times over, you still look at everything like it's a new wonder you've only just discovered. It makes him proud when you walk through Liyue with wide and excited eyes.
For some reason, Scaramouche seems to trust you. He gets the strangest feeling that you won't abandon him... he knows it's likely not true, that you'll likely get bored and throw him away eventually, but even still... he will cherish the smiles you send his way, he will savor the times you hold his hand to guide him to the next wonderful thing you want him to see. He knows it won't last, so he will enjoy this before it inevitably ends.
To Razor, you're lupical. You're always so kind to him, you often pat his head and tell him how ferocious and loyal he is. You even patch up his clothes sometimes! You make sure he's fed and rested, you look after him... to him, you're more of a pack member than an omnipresent god. Like I said... you're lupical.

Never had Kaeya assumed the Gods would favor him. Not after the promise he made, the bonds he shared with both his fathers—his brother, and how easily his patchworked life tore beneath his feet, his right eye a constant reminder of all his failures.
So when Aether, Amber, and Lisa extended a hand toward his figure, purple light enveloping his being, bubbling with warmth that mended the bitterness of his past, and opened his eyes to the heavens—
How could he not become Your believer?
Soon, he would travel the entirety of Mondstat, escaping his duties whilst discovering treasures, receiving divine gifts: goblets, circlets, feathers—and participating in...rather strange rituals. You made him carry a hefty bag of mora and flowers, gems, remants of slain regisvines, to the zenith of Starsnatch Cliff before imbuing him with unknown strength that coarsed through his veins.
Aether called it an "initiation", to forever be acquainted with divine blessings, to be Yours. He affirmed the sole reason he'd been able to save Dvalin, the entirety of Mondstat, was due to You, granting him the privilege of becoming a vessel.
"...Vessel, huh?" The word stuck to his tongue like a bitter saccharine. Even worse--You seemingly vanished, leaving he and his comrades hollowed by Your absence. After a desperate letter and trek sent back home, the reception back in the City of Wind was nothing less than suffocating.
A small gathering of vision wielders greeted them at the gate, welcoming them home. Yet, the sun never penetrated his body. The bite of sheer cold blossomed in his veins, making him tremble with every step he took—the first of many which he had to be conscious of; and breathing, keeping his heart beating, leaving him winded and dizzy. Your gaze took away his autonomy, rendering him a spectator in his own corpse, but You left him with the most joyous of dreams and slumbers; abandoning him forced everything back into his muscles, and he scrambled to remember what it was like to be alive without you. However, that was hardly the worst part.
His friends who cheered at his safety—
their smiles did not meet their eyes.
Instead, replaced was envy, resentment, and the brewing notion that he was a fraud, tricking the Creator and seducing You into loving him. They swirled, in vile concoctions, behind each of their pupils. Yet they paraded around him like he, himself, was divinity. Did they all wish he never came back? Would they tear each other apart for a chance at Your Grace?
Maybe his death was an opportune moment.
Unfortunately, he lived.
"Welcome back, everyone. I'm glad the Creator brought you back safe and sound." Jean bowed slightly, relief written on her lips.
"Hmm...go on and rest for now. Tommorow, you can tell us what all your travels uncovered." Albedo smiled, nodding at him and Lisa in particular.
Klee bounced on the soles of her heels, waving her hands to the weary travelers. "Yay! Kaeya's back! And Amber and Lisa and Mr. Honorary knight!" she cheered, beaming.
"Ah...why don't we all go back to the cathedral? I can heal you all of any injuries!" the deaconess suggested, a strain of a smile forming on her face.
"...Welcome back," Diluc muttered, most likely dragged along by the Acting Grand Master.
"Hey, on the way there, why don't I sing you all a song? No wine in exchange!" The enigmatic bard hummed, giving them all a wink.
Kaeya heaved a ragged breath, forcing a small laugh out his lips. "Sorry, but I think I'll pass. I'd much rather rest at Angel's Share," he responded, ignoring the pointed glare from a certain redhead. "After all, the Creator never afforded us any sort of wine; I'd certainly die if I had to spend another day without it."
"Huh...?" Barbara said, "b-but, Sir Kaeya—"
She was interrupted with a solemn headshake from the librarian.
"None of us are hurt," Lisa reaffirmed, "let him be...We'll tell you everything."
The Calvary Captain huffed, breaking away from the group and stumbling into the tavern, his countenance morphed into the expression he held all those years ago, when he first received his vision.
Haunted.
Nothing had changed since his leave, though there were far less customers than usual. Did the other citizens feel You vanish too? Or was that a curse reserved only for the puppets You deemed fit for control?
"Charles, the strongest, if you please."
Alcohol had left his throat burning, a reprieve from the sudden, chilling, desolation. After his "ascension", he was no longer the same man. In gazing upon him, You stole away a piece of his soul, a void only able to be filled by You and You only.
It wasn't too long before the bar's door opened again.
"What are you up to, Kaeya?" Diluc stayed near the entrance, not bothering to move toward the stools.
"I'm not in the mood," he hissed, downing his glass too quickly to savour.
Diluc forewent the usual quips he'd aim toward his brother, settling in a silent scrutiny. He was never one to favor the Gods. They stood in one another's solitude, drinking until the "Darknight Hero" woke to dusk.
Then, Kaeya was truly alone. Truly, utterly alone, with not even the eyes of which he'd come to expect. After all, he, a barely devoted follower, could never stay in the Divine's gaze forever.
Even so, the ache in Kaeya's heart screamed that the Gods had forsaken him again; being a vessel was far more merciful than being 'Kaeya'. Because if he wasn't a vessel, he was emptier than he'd ever been.
And when Lisa wrote to him, musing about how his Prototype rancour ended up in the hands of the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, how strong she was—he knew he'd been discarded.
...
If he were more pious, would You deign to look at him once again?
