In the Lancelot-Vulgate (Lancelot-Grail-Cycle), the Lady of the Lake's parting words to Lancelot included the following revelations and advice:

"My dear prince, you are about to leave me. I want you to know that you are not my son, but were born to one of the finest knights and most honorable men in the world and to one of the best and most beautiful ladies to have ever lived. You can't know any more about either father or mother right now, but soon you will know the truth."

"Take care to be as beautiful in your heart as you are in body and in limb, for you have as much beauty as God could bestow on any child and it would be a great wrong if your prowess did not prove its equal."

And once you have been knighted, do not delay a single night in his house, but start your travels through all the lands in search of wonders and adventures, so that you can gain fame and renown."

"Never stop in one place longer than you have to, and take care that you do all you can [to] not be surpassed by anyone in feats of chivalry."

"If the king asks you who you are or what your name is or who I am, just say you don't know, except that I am a lady and that I brought you up. I have likewise forbidden your squires to say anything more than that."

"My dear prince, I leave you with this teaching: the more you succeed in harsh and dangerous adventures, the more confident you will be of succeeding in others."

"And when now and then you find a challenge that, with all your God-given knightly skills, you cannot meet, remember that there is no man born who could do so in your place."

Then she kissed his mouth, his cheeks, and his eyes with tenderness and turned away, so choked with sorrow that she could not utter another words. The boy was deeply moved, and his eyes filled with tears.

I've been angry with the ships since last week, so why don't we put the ships that make the least sense, I'll start:

Finality is Close.

Finding that King Arthur has set about to find some way to fend against a curse that sounded suspiciously like what happened to their old leader, Exxie attempts to barter a plan to find if the item Arthur is looking for could perhaps cure the aforementioned hex. Reaching an agreement, Exxie and Eterna spare the king and his dear friend’s life... only to soon after have to fend off against Infinite. Who had come baring his fangs to keep the golden clad knight from hurting the remains of his family.

Succeeding in driving the half-spirit off, the newly formed group came across a traveler from a foreign land known as Espio accompanied by one of the leading researchers of the crumbling Robotnik Empire, Francesca. Finding that they all had a similiar goal in the end, the group bands together and sets off to find the Lady of the Lake, Nimue. Who shows them a prophecy of a future she fears is not too far off. The positive side is; she does know of a way to reverse the effects of the recently discovered “Phantom Ruby”, however, if they fail to find it soon, she warns that their may be no land safe from the terrible wrath of the late Prince Robotnik.

Tired from their eventful travels, the group come to the conclusion that they must press forward to find the sacred sword “Atlas”, said to be able to cut through the ethereal.

so the murder of sonic the hedgehog is a fun game, but i really don't think it should be classified as a storybook game like satbk and satsr. for two big reasons

one, it doesn't directly use the plot of the genre people say it's referencing: the murder on the orient express. nor does it expand on said plot since it doesn't use it at all. it's just a similar plot genre.

two, the supporting cast isn't the same in tmosth compared to satbk and satsr. king shahryar and eggman, lancelot and shadow, sinbad and knuckles, the lady of the lake and amy: they're all seperate characters. They storybook counterparts may look like sonics friends, but they're still the characters from the original story being told. tmosth doesn't do that. tails is tails, amy is amy, eggman is eggman, etc etc.

sure the joke is funny and all, but i don't consider this game to be a third installment of the storybook series

At that, the Lady took a small ring from her finger and put it on the boy's finger, saying that it had the power to uncover and reveal all magic spells.

dp phandom who followed us sorry this is not dp related BABDBS

So-- have been fixating on Sonic for a bit-- a few aus have popped into mind and i want to talk about one called "Gone with the Wind", a satbk au

This au takes place immediately following the end of satbk

Upon being declared King, Sonic decides that he does not, in fact, want to be king and wants to go home, and asks merlinda if she could send him home, She denies his request because she believes their needs to be a king.

He decides right then and there that if no one would help him get home, then he might as well do it himself, he bolts away leaving everyone (including caliburn) in shock.

he stops by Griffin(tails-- this is infact based on a fic iykyk) blacksmith and picks up a different sword (a very basic one-- Griffin makes sure its fitted well-- well as well as he was able too considering Sonic is in a rush) under the lie that Caliburn said he should have a back up weapon just in case, After he buys the essentials like a stock of food and a cloak(for a disguise) and leaves town

He camps out in the dragon's cave since he had already slayed the dragon and there weren't any remaining enemies there anymore since King Arthur was gone. The cave becomes his home as he figures out how the fuck to get home

Meanwhile, the knights set up a missing poster asap, Griffin sees the poster and is concerned for Sonic's well being.

Back to Sonic-- he starts making trips to town every few weeks to refill on food-- Griffin catches him one night but agrees to help him by sneaking him food and other supplies he needs, he also finishes customizing Sonic's new sword to his liking

Another thing is that Sonic will train by Challeging passing knights(usually those he thinks are newer based on how they carry themselves n haow they act, etc) to a friendly duel under a different name(we haven't thought of his fake name yet) usually most dont really think about it. The purpose of training is that if hes caught, he wont be defenseless

SPEAKING OF BEING CAUGHT

Gawain recalls how sonic was heading to slay a dragon in the past before being interrupted by himself-- only to continue on his journey after beating him

Lancelot offers to go, Caliburn says he should bring him along to which Lance declines because he might not even be there

Anyways Lance makes the trip, Sonic was near the entrance and noticed him entering and hides towards the top of the cave in the shadows, covering his blue quills as much as possible so he doesn't stand out

Wasn't sure where to mention this so im plopping it here but Sonic made alot of renovations to the Cave so he was more comfortable while he tried to find his way home-- this includes things like small acoves of food or blankets and wooden bridges that he could run across

Back to the "plot", Despite having a genuinely good hiding spot, Lance notices him considering hes very observant and they have a confrontation-- starting with a sword fight

Sonic kind of shouts at him during the fight about how he never even wanted this and how he was literally taken out of his world without being given any choice in the matter and now they expected him to stay despite literally going by the title knight of the wind

The fight ends there, Lance hesitantly offering comfort while Sonic breaks down over how he just wants to go home and how he misses his friends

Lance is conflicted, hes unsure if its the right thing to turn in Sonic now. He decides that he wouldn't tell the other knights for now while he cleared his head, and tells Sonic just as much. Want to mention this isn't a guaranteed "I wont turn you in" but its a possibility

Sonic is just grateful that hes not being turned into the knights.

This was literally and idea that popped into our head last night so its not completely fleshed out-- we still want to start plotting out how Sonic finds his way home-- atm we want him to talk to the Lady at the Lake at some point for guidance

We've seen alot of aus where Sonic takes up the role of king or is teetering between being king or leaving, so we thought it would be fun to make an au where he very clearly chooses to not be king

In terms of ships n stuff, atm we have nothing but this au could be implied Lansoni (we thrive for more lance and knight of the wind content compared to lance and king arther/sonic(WHICH IS GOOD CONTENT WE JUST WANNA SEE MORE OF THE PRIOR))

What do you think would happen if Lancelot ended up going with sonic to his world? You know for example:

(1) how would he react to seeing sonic battle Eggman?

(2) would Lancelot become protective of sonic despite the fact that sonic has been battling Eggman since he was a little kid?

(3) how would Lancelot react to meeting Amy and his counterpart from Sonic’s world only For Amy to tackle hug Sonic and try to kiss him?

And my personal favorite question…

(4) what would Lancelot do and say The second he got to meet sonic parents? depending on which version of sonic this would be of course. (doughnut lord and pretzel lady, Bernadette and Jules or queen Elena and Sonic’s siblings Sonja in Manic)

I know I’m asking like four questions here but I am genuinely curious as to how these four scenarios would play out if Lancelot ended up going to sonics world with him.

1. Lancelot, while he may find Sonic's methods without a sword or armor reckless, would ultimately be impressed, given he can fight without a weapon.

2. Yes. Lancelot would instinctively come to Sonic's aid, as it's his duty as a knight, and may even talk him out of fighting, claiming it's too dangerous. But Lancelot would soon come to realize that Sonic can take care of himself and fight by his side.

3. Lancelot would mistake Amy for Nimue and treat her as such. I think he would even excuse her behavior ("She's the Lady of the Lake; she must know what's best"). But I don't think she would act so forward anymore, based on some IDW and Boom moments. I think she's matured and grown to learn Sonic's boundaries.

This might sound boring but I also don't think Lancelot would be explicitly jealous. He might feel it somewhat but ultimately knows that Sonic is "king" (as in people view him highly), so Lancelot would understand that Sonic is loved by all.

Meeting Shadow would be a whole ordeal... I don't think it would go well as Lancelot would view Shadow as an imposter (a faker, if you will) and he would find it disrespectful for someone to impersonate himself, the most trusted knight of King Arthur.

4. I can't picture Lancelot ever meeting Movie Sonic as that universe is too "happy" and SatBK has some dark themes. I also don't read Archie.

Since I'm familiar with Underground, Lancelot would, of course, treat Sonic's siblings with respect. However, he might not agree with Manic's ways, given that thievery isn't exactly noble. I do see him listening to Sonia play the harpsichord though, since it reminds him of his time at the castle, of home.

I do think it would be interesting to see him meet Queen Aleena, just because that would fall in line with how Lancelot views Sonic like royalty, and the whole prince thing would magnify it.
