The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Taylor Jenkins Reid [started 02/04, finished 02/13] I recall an article calling out TJR as one of many authors that are pro-israel and haven’t seen anything that disputes the claim. I don’t have much to contribute to the conversation anyways, so I’ll pass on leaving a review. — After Dark, Haruki Murakami [started 02/06, finished 02/21] What I admire about what Murakami accomplished with After Dark was achieving the right level of simplicity to bring out the tense undertones in the magical realism. I also really enjoyed being invited to float with the story, almost breaking a fourth wall and interacting with the spaces. 4⭐️ in storygraph. — When We Cease to Understand the World, Benjamín Labatut [started 02/24, still in prog] I am only about 50 pages in and I am already ill. Too early to form an opinion, thus I’ll offer a snippet of the book description: “A fictional examination of the lives of real-life scientists and thinkers whose discoveries resulted in moral consequences beyond their imagining. When We Cease to Understand the World is a book about the complicated links between scientific and mathematical discovery, madness, and destruction.” Feels very timely reading this at the same time as watching Three-Body and then Oppenheimer in the next week or so.

High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America, Netflix [started: 02/02, finished 02/07] WOW!! Wowowowowow. Wow. This needs to be a mandatory watch, even though we are at the end of Black History Month. It’s a well curated journey through the slave era to present day, from shores of Africa to all areas of the US. It’s so empowering and inspiring. Don’t wait until June or next year, please educate yourselves and open your heart to this show. — African Folktales Reimagined, Netflix [started 02/02, finished 02/08] I heard about this show through an article posted on Short of the Week last year and immediately put it on my watchlist. What a wonderful choice of directors for this series. Such strong visionaries and visuals. My favorites out of the six stories were Enmity Djinn and MaMlambo. MaMlambo still has a chokehold on me. MAJOR trigger warnings for this series is under the cut. — Three-Body, Viki (also avail on YT) [started 02/19, paused on 02/26] Trigger warnings for this series is also under the cut. With that said, I have a very personal connection with Three-Body Problem, both the novel and the physics problem, so taking this show on has been my entire world. When it comes to tackling my watchlist, shows that have a substantial number of eps/seasons gets split into chunks, so that I can tackle them over a number of months. For this series, I divided the 30-epsiode series into three ten-episode parts that will take me from February to June. I’ll post an official review when I finish over the summer, but for now I will say I very much enjoy having my brain turn into goo after every ep. What an explosive first outing. I will be resuming this show in April for eps 11-20, where I’ll be reunited with my beloved war criminal.

Over the Moon, Netflix [watched on 2/10, DNF] So unfortunate that I started this and could not finish. I hope to get back into it in May, so I can talk about how beautiful it is. Gotta do it for Glen Keane. — Sky Ladder: The Art of Cai Guo-Qiang, Netflix [watched on 2/11] I…. I think I am going to let this quote from the film speak for me: “In the 60’s, when American astronauts landed on the moon, that was really good news, even in China. But I was sad because I thought I would never make it to space myself. But later on, I realized that art could be my space-time tunnel connecting me to the universe. If there was an opportunity, I would like to make a ladder into the clouds. But the purpose of this ladder wouldn’t be for me to go to space, it would be to encourage a back-and-forth, a dialogue.” I MEANN!!!! Yes, I did go into this film already aware of some of his works but I didn’t really know a lot about him. What I admired most was his joy and child-like wonder when he’s interacting with his art. I loved witnessing him act like he’s 7 yrs old again, especially in that air balloon scene. There’s also a moment when he’s become complacent in his projects, settling on the bare minimum to get a job done. When the art of creating is stripped of the art, what is left of Cai is very clear to the viewer: he is frustrated, he feels suffocated, he’s used. Alternately, towards the end of the film, he brings it back with “Yes, a lot of artists do things that are too commercial. It lacks some compulsive and sincere emotion that should exist in all art. Collaborating with [unknown artists] will always remind me of the pleasure I felt and my original purpose for doing art.” (Fascinating to compare his turmoil with the govt whilst working with Netflix.) All in all, this film did a great job telling a story about the magic in enduring passion projects over time. In this case, his Sky Ladder being a fourth attempt at a impossibly large scale dream project. I feel like my thoughts are all over the place with this film, but I’m still finding new things that really speak to me as an artist. — Your Name Engraved Herein, Netflix [watched on 2/18] I thought I had this gifset on my blog but it turns out I may have just DM’d @forcebook about this and didn’t rb, but anyways I saw this and thought hey this has the potential to ruin me lemme put it on my watchlist. And now over a year later, I finally got around to it. Well… it’s exactly what I ordered, it definitely ruined me. I mean, when they come at me with “Maybe more people would understand me in hell. Make it easy for me and help me go to hell,” what else am I supposed to be but ruined. I want a sequel, I need their reset.
There are more to add to the movies category, due to Oscar season, but I’ll save them for a separate post, with all my thoughts on the films/shorts I was able to catch, for Oscar weekend.

Ella Sings Gershwin, Ella Fitzgerald with Ellis Larkins at the piano [first time listening] One hobby I picked up during the pandemic was growing my vinyl collection. I found this vinyl in 2022 with the intention of finding more from this era/genre. Not much movement since then, since vinyl purchases only happens once or twice a year. Suffice to say, I am so happy that the quality is still in tact and it makes me want to get back into vinyls soon. Current top 3: My One and Only (What Am I Gonna Do), But Not For Me, and Soon — Wicked [relistening] One thing you need to understand about me is that Wicked was my first musical hyperfixation. I used to spend summers on the train to the city to catch the raffle drawings and when my name was picked, it would be the best $25 well spent to be seated front row. And when I was not in the city, the CD would be on repeat in the car on my long drives going to and from home and college. My introduction to YT was watching all of the bootleg clips of every casting. All the Eden Espenozas and Stephanie J Blocks and Kerry Ellis’. All the Kendra Kassenbaums, Megan Hiltys, and Annaleigh Ashfords. And yes, all the Aaron Tveits don’t look at me. I’ve seen almost all facets of this show enough times to start frankenstein-ing together my version of Wicked. All this to say that my love for this show remained dormant for over a decade, until the movie trailer for part one came out. And then *SPLASH* I immediately jump in head first into a slime tutorial just like that. Long ago, I watched Kara Lindsay’s broadway vlogs without having seen her Galinda and now I can say I have seen the light, she’s just as immaculate as I imagined she’d be.
Tumblr media
Welcome to Night Vale [recurring/catching up] I typically catch up on this podcast seasonally, since I find that this show is more enjoyable when I binge it. This time around, I have fallen more behind and needed to catch up on 11 episodes. My favorite eps: A Car Crash on Buellton Avenue (Ep 232), Sister Cities: Vermillion Falls (Ep 239), and He is Holding a Knife (Ep 240). I will admit that there was a period of time, maybe four or five years ago, when I dropped the show for reasons I cannot recall now but I am glad that I stuck around.
And now here are some tw to keep in mind:
AFRICAN FOLKTALES trigger warnings: domestic violence/abuse, child abuse, attempt(s) of suicide, drowning, and miscarriage.
THREE-BODY trigger warnings: The plot centers around solving the mystery behind scientists committing suicide on an international scale. Scenes ranging from allusions, thoughts of suicide, to moderate depictions of suicide.

Hulu New Releases: April 2021
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
While the first day of spring technically belongs to March, everyone knows that it kicks into high gear in April. To celebrate the changing of the seasons, Hulu is finally bringing back its signature original series for April 2021.
Season 4 of the multiple Emmy award-winning The Handmaid’s Tale premieres on April 28. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen June and her dystopian world. In fact, it’s been so long that our own world decided to endure its own dystopian pandemic in the meantime. Hopefully this series’ return will mean we can keep our political and social collapses on television where they belong.
Aside from The Handmaid’s Tale, Hulu isn’t brining much else to the table in terms of originals this month. Thankfully, the one other original that Hulu has in store for April sounds completely righteous. Sasquatch, the latest docuseries from the Duplass brothers producing team, will cover exactly what the title promises. This three-part series heads off to the Pacific Northwest for a tale about an elicit pot farm and the possibility that three men were viciously murdered by Big Foot on it. Sign us up!
Library titles for Hulu in April 2021 are also pretty thin. But April 1 does feature the arrival Mad Max (1980) and Die Hard (1988). Then April 28 sees the arrival of…well, Arrival (2016). Those aren’t bad streaming options in case the weather in April decides to not be spring-like.

If you’ve read my fics you may know that one of my running fic plots is canon diverging from an episode leading to an identity reveal.  Since I’m bored and apparently have no sense of self control, I’m taking a few episode requests for me to write reveal fics off of - feel free to send me an ask and I’ll pick either the first few or just a few that strike my fancy to write. (No promises on getting all of them because this is my first time taking requests, lol) Any episode I haven’t already written is fair game!  List of free episodes under the cut

season 8, epsiode 10 - the lesson
okay this episode just makes me cringe especially during the dislocation scenes
season 8, episode 16 - carbon copy
i know this episode doesn’t scare a lot of people but it’s the ending for me. there’s something about them raiding the room only to see a bunch of pictures of themselves on the boards and the music playing in the background is just creepy

JUNE 2020 GOLD STAR MEDIA SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of July 7 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Reminder: May schedule posts are due by the end of June 7 KST. Please do not post schedule posts in the fmdschedule tag.
OVERALL COMPANY
This month, all three companies are coming together for their second annual joint retreat, and this time it’s in a location Bang Sunyoung is a big fan of. Though a frequent guest of the resort in the past, she won’t be attending with the idols and lower-level staff this time with the excuse of having all attendees be of a more equal level in their respective companies to facilitate bonding.
Important dates:
June 19-22: Wellness retreat with BC and Dimensions.
GOLD STAR SOLOIST 1
"Blueming” is doing well as a more chill option for listening on the border between the spring and summer seasons. Promotions are still rather sparse this month, but Gold Star has her booked for a pair of radio show guestings to appease fans who have expressed disappointment that there wasn’t much on her promotion schedule for her new album. Next month, she’ll begin working on her upcoming concert tour, but for now, that’s still in the stages of company planning and arrangement.
Important dates:
June 1: “Blueming” fan chant guide video filming.
June 8: KBS Cool FM Gayo Plaza radio show guesting.
June 11: KBS 2FM Volume Up radio show guesting.
June 25: End of music show promotions.
GOLD STAR SOLOIST 2
Her first schedule of the month is a trip out of the country to New York for this year’s KCon. Gold Star decided to send her despite the rather poor performance of her American debut a few years ago because there’s been talk of having her release another English song, or English version of the song, before the year is out. When she gets back to Korea, she’ll be wrapping up her cross-country tour with a final date in Busan.
Important dates:
June 12: Performance at KCON NY at the Javits Center in New York, NY, USA (also performing: Knight, Dimensions Soloist 2, and 7ROPHY).
June 28: I AM : RE-BORN tour concert at KBS Busan Hall in Busan, South Korea.
GOLD STAR SOLOIST 3
It comes as a surprise to no one that he’s been booked to attend KCon this year. Between his status as one of the more common pushes in the market from Gold Star in general, the approach of his English language album makes this year a very good opportunity for him to potentially earn some new fans. He’ll be performing “Love Die Young” and “Runaway”. Next month, he’ll be in the studio to finish recording his next album, so management encourages him to take any time off he might need this month before they go full force into album preparations.
Important dates:
June 13: Performance at KCON NY at the Javits Center in New York, NY, USA (also performing: BC Soloist 1, Dimensions Soloist 1, and Lucid).
SILHOUETTE
Silhouette’s contract as brand ambassador of sportswear brand Mizuno has been renewed, so it’s time for them to shoot another CF at the beginning of the month. The CF will require a day trip to Jeju to shoot on the beach since they’re advertising swimwear. Later in the month, it will be time to shoot their comeback MV. Management has no qualms reminding them how big they want this comeback to be. It’s a rebirth of Silhouette with a shift in image from sexy to empowering and they’re expected to channel all the energy they can into make a music video worthy of the reception Gold Star desires.
Important dates:
June 5: Mizuno CF filming in Jeju.
June 15: “Sixth Sense” M/V filming day one.
June 16: “Sixth Sense” M/V filming day two.
ARIA
The week before their comeback, Aria will be the guests on Running Man for a two-epsiode special. During the episode, they’ll give short performances of “Luv”, “I’m So Sick” and “Beautiful Days”, and they’ll team up to play a variety of games [2] [3] [4] with the cast. On June 15, Aria as a full group heads to the Dimensions Entertainment building after filming a short package where they visits 7ROPHY to help them with a cover performance of “Mr. Chu” they’ll be doing as a special stage. Once they return to the Gold Star building that day, they’ll be called into a filmed meeting to officially confirm with them that they’ll be appearing on a new MNet competition show called Queendom where they’ll compete against five other female idol acts. During the meeting, they’ll be informed one by one that they’re competing with Lipstick, 7ROPHY, two NPC junior groups, and one NPC senior soloist and their reactions will be filmed. The show will begin airing in late August, but they must begin preparing a brief introduction stage, which they will go to the MNet studio to film on June 26. While they are there, they will be interviewed and asked what they want to show through their performances and will be heavily pushed towards answers that push the story line MNet has planned for them: proving themselves as capable of more than the pure concept they’re most known for.
Important dates:
June 7: Running Man appearance filming (to be aired: June 28 & July 5)
June 15: MCountdown Mr. Chu stage behind the scenes filming with 7ROPHY.
June 15: Release of Beautiful Days & Once Upon A Time album, music show promotions continue through July 15.
June 16: Queendom Opening Performance filming.
ORIGIN
For five days this month, Origin will be packing up and taking a trip out to Jeonju to shoot their summer package. This will be the first time they do the yearly fan content in their own country. Shortly after they return, they’ll have comeback outfit fittings and then shoot the photo book for their upcoming album. Later in the month, they’ll perform their duties at the new ambassadors of message chair brand Bodyfriend by filming a series of group and unit CFs.
Important dates:
June 7-11: Summer Package 2020 filming at AWON Museum & Hotel in Jeonju.
June 12: Comeback MV [2] [3] and stage outfit [2] fittings.
June 26: Comeback photo book/teaser photo shoot.
June 27: Bodyfriend CF filming.
IMPULSE
At the beginning of the month, Impulse will leave the recording studio to enter the dance studio and begin learning the choreography for their new title track “You Calling My Name” and b-side track “Crash & Burn”. Later in the month, they’ll go in for fittings in preparation for MV filming at the beginning of next month before they make their comeback at the end of July.
Important dates:
June 25: Comeback MV and stage outfit fitting.
FUSE
Their Seoul concerts are behind them, so it’s now time to focus fully on preparing for their comeback in August. Since the album is now fully recorded, this month, they’ll be working on the choreography for the title track. Early in the month, they also have a photo shoot for Allure Magazine’s July issue which, along with what they showed at their concerts last month, should confirm to the fans that their next comeback is a darker, more luxurious one than “Umpah Umpah” or “Zimzalabim”.
Important dates:
June 6: Allure Magazine July issue photo shoot.
ELEMENT
"Dumb Litty” didn’t work magic on Element’s public recognition in Korea, but Gold Star never expected it to or chose the concept or song to achieve that. As has become their dependable marketing strategy, most of Element’s promotions outside of music shows are geared toward their existing fandom or earning new international fans. This includes three different Youtube videos they’ll film before the end of promotions as well as a couple of radio show appearances.
Important dates:
June 2: 1TheK Dumb Litty Suit Ver. filming.
June 5: NewsAde Dumb Litty Part Switch filming.
June 7: Element Tries Brazillian Snacks video filming.
June 8: Idol Radio radio show guesting.
June 10: Arirang Radio Super K-Pop radio show guesting.
June 17: End of music show promotions.
FEMME FATALE
Things have finally begun to calm down some for the members of Femme Fatale as they turn their focus entirely to touring (and filming their Femme Fatale Diaries reality series [2] [3]) this month. Until the third, they’ll be in Spain before returning to Seoul. On June 12, they depart for Macau and will return on June 14 before once again flying out to stay in Melbourne from June 24 to June 26 and in Sydney from June 26 to June 28.
Important dates:
June 2: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain.
June 13: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at Cotai Arena in Macau.
June 25: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
June 27: Femme Fatale In Your Area World Tour concert at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.

An Obel for Charon
1.      So much of this episode feels like a direct refutation of the things they changed last season lol “sorry the universal translator sometimes has issues with me pips and clicks” tbh burnham was understanding you fine in that turbolift and that was GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME
2.      1. HIS NAME IS LINUSSSS 2. I HAD A COLD LAST WEEK IT SUUCKED….COME ON. SIX NASAL CANALS is a) hilarious and b) feels like something straight out of the orville and c) is the first time I think weve seen something like this on star trek and I cannot tell you how happy it makes me.
3.      I know I was not a big enough person when this first aired to be able to say nice things about a show I didn’t want to like or I thought I was smarter that, but I REALLY FUCK with the vibe of this show and the aesthetic and im no longer afraid to say it
4.      OH MY GOD AN EPISODE WHERE THE UNIVERSAL TRANSLATOR IS DOWN OH MY GOD IM OBSESSED OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
10.  Ok theyve stopped speaking in different languages soi m back to english. But i love the captain and first officer just kinda chillin in sick bay during a crisis. Doin some medical stuff yeah, but it feels like w eird time for you two to be volunteering to do some community service
11.  The little thing that captain pike does with his hands lmao
12.  I like that rather than having any one character be the one searching to understand what it is to be human, almost all of them are trying to understand. Except for stamets and tilly, who are kinda just happy blabs
13.  I REALLY LIKE the saru is a refugee thing. I really like this episode a lot
14.  WHY ARE ALL THE BEST EPISODES SARU EPISODES
15.  Burnham whispering **WHAT IS HAPPENING** is such a fuckin mood tho
16.  God DAMN doug jones is a lanky boi. Even if they VFXd it thats a fucking unit of lank
17.  IM CRYING STAMETS AND TILLY SINGING GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM IS MAGICAL
18.  I like that based on tilly’s mouth movements you can see that she is lipscyncing specifically that accent. And based on the lips pretty damn well tooo
19.  Shut up im crying at saru’s death this is so beautiful damn you all
20.  In a weird way, i think the BIGGEST flaw of the show was choosing to work in chronological order. Its kind of like if DS9’s first season had been the bajoran occupation
21.  Ah. This was the ‘shit the effects for saru’s ganglia are too expensive and his fear gimmick wasn’t as cool as we thought’ backpedal
22.   I kinda hate the christopher pike is our captain thing. Idk it feels a lil too much like kowtowing to the incels
23.  This FUCKING EPSIODE IS AMAZING

Pls post your 3 pages worth of reasons that Ross is a terrible person - I'm a very petty person & it would fill me w so much joy to read it 💕
I have now finished season 1 and have come to a grand total of 4 pages! I think I will update this as I rewatch the other seasons, but for right now here is season 1
Reasons Why Ross Geller is a Horrible Human Being
Season 1:
Episode 1: The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate
·        I know that he is hurt about Carol leavinghim but he is so fixated on her leaving him for a woman
·        “and try not to let my intensevulnerability become any kind of a factor here” said right before he asksRachel “would it be okay if I asked you out sometime” basically remindingRachel that he is hurting trying to make her feel guilty if she says no
Episode 2: The One with the Sonogram at the End
·        Asks Carol if she’s still a lesbian
·        Carol says she wants to name the babyMinnie if it’s a girl (after her grandmother) and Ross says no because everyonewould think Minnie Mouse
·        Implies that the baby is not Susan’s sinceshe was not part of the baby making process
·        “I don’t think I can be involved in thisparticular family” said as he is leaving the exam room (he does however stopand come back once he hears the sonogram and looks at the baby)
Episode 3: The One with the Thumb
·        N/A
Episode 4: The One with George Stephanopolous
·        Why must Ross always mention the fact thatCarol is a lesbian? “I think I’m just gonna go home and think about my ex-wifeand her lesbian lover”
Episode 5: The One with the East German LaundryDetergent
·        N/A
Episode 6: The One with the Butt
·        N/A
Episode 7: The One with the Blackout
·        Mentions Carol being a lesbian…again (thistime in a mocking tone)
·        Told Palo that he and Rachel were a thingwhen they very much were not a thing
·        Took advantage of the fact that Palodoesn’t know much English and called him a crapweasel
Episode 8: The One Where Nana Dies Twice
·        N/A
Episode 9: The One Where Underdog Gets Away
·        He does mention Carol being a lesbianagain; however, in this context I can’t really be mad at him because if Carolhad left him for man I could understand him not wanting to invite Carol and hernew boyfriend over for Thanksgiving
·        “You guys sure have a lot of books aboutbeing a lesbian”
·        Tells Susan she’s crazy for reading to thebaby who hasn’t been born yet
·        Insists that he get “belly time” to talkto the baby even though he “doesn’t believe in any of this” as in he doesn’tbelieve that the baby can hear him.
·        Must do something just because Susan didit
·        Slaps Susan’s hand when she placed it onCarol’s stomach to feel the baby kick
Episode 10: The One with the Monkey
·        N/A
Episode 11: The One with Mrs. Bing
·        Kisses Chandler’s mom
·        Tells Joey that Chandler doesn’t need toknow
·        Originally tells Chandler it was Palo
·        Doesn’t get why Chandler is upset
Epsiode 12: The One with the Dozen Lasagnas
·        Lied to Carol about a lasagna beingvegetarian because it would upset Susan who is a vegetarian.
·        Doesn’t let Rachel have her time to getover Palo (Rachel says that she is done with guys as in she wants to take abreak from them and Ross tells her that’s not the right way to get over Palo)
Episode 13: The One with the Boobies
·        N/A
Episode 14: The One with the Candy Hearts
·        When he and his date see Carol and Susanat the same restaurant Ross tell his date that “the blonde is my ex-wife andthe woman touching her is her close personal friend.”
·        When his date asks if they [Carol andSusan] are lovers Ross replies with, “Well if you want to put a label on it.”
·        Ignores his date to pay attention to Carol
·        Asks his date if Carol can join them sinceSusan got called into work
·        Spent the majority, if not his entire datetalking to Carol and didn’t even notice his date leave
·        Tells Carol they should get back togetherbecause being with her is easy for him. Even though he knows fully well thatCarol and Susan are very happy together and very much in love
·        Told Carol “not to deny” that they areperfect for each other and that she is carrying HIS baby
Episode 15: The One with the Stoned Guy
·        N/A
Episode 16: The One with the Two Parts: Part 1
·        “We’ve got dads, we’ve got lesbians, thewhole parenting team.” In regards to Susan being at the Lamaze class with himand Carol
·        He can never just say that Susan is Carolpartner. He always says their friends or something
·        The whole thing with the monkey. Heshouldn’t have a monkey as a pet in the first place and he brings Marceleverywhere, but he isn’t properly trained (most likely due to the fact thatRoss should not have a monkey)
·        “I’m gonna play my sperm card one moretime.” Said to Susan when she didn’t want to be the “mommy” at Lamaze classsince Carol wasn’t there
Episode 17: The One with the Two Parts: Part 2
·        N/A
Episode 18: The One with All the Poker
·        Teases Joey for crying. (Joey had criedduring a poker game because he lost)
·        All the guys tell the girls “No” when theyask for the guys to teach them how to play poker
·        When they do end up teaching the girls howto play the keep getting annoyed whenever the girls do something wrong
·        “don’t expect me to be a nice guy” he saysthis to Rachel when talking about playing poker (it’s more his tone that irksme about this one)
Episode 19: The One Where the Monkey Gets Away
·        When Rachel accidently lets Marcel out ofthe apartment and she tells Ross he understandably gets upset (I mean if afriend of mine lost my pet I would be upset so I can’t blame him) but he thensays “You know I guess it’s partially my fault. I shouldn’t of asked you tostart off with a monkey. I should of started you off with a pen or a pencil.” Likethat is completely uncalled for
·        He then gets upset that Rachel calledanimal control. It’s not Rachel’s fault that you have an illegal exotic animalas a pet Ross
·        Talks about how Rachel is always “off inRachel land” and never pays attention to people’s monkeys or people’s feelings.Seriously Ross! He’s making this about him and his obsession with Rachel
·        “You had to be a bitch in high school. Youcouldn’t have been fat.” Said to Rachel when the animal control person, Louisa, captures Marcel. Louisa had homeroom with Monica and Rachel and hated Rachel forignoring her.
·        I will give him this…he did apologize toRachel
·        When Rachel agrees to have a glass of winewith him he dims the lights…really Ross
Episode 20: The One with the Evil Orthodontist
·        Rachel’s ex-fiancé, Barry shows up andtells her he thinks he is still in love with her. They go to lunch and when shecomes back and tells everyone what they did for the afternoon Ross says, “Wasthat before or after you told him to stop calling, stop sending you flowers, and to generally leave you alone.” He was possessive even before they gottogether
·        “What were you thinking?” said to Rachelafter he finds out that Rachel and Barry had sex
Episode 21: The One with the Fake Monica
·        N/A
Episode 22: The One with the Ick Factor
·        Gets jealous that Rachel had a dream aboutChandler. “I can’t believe you two had sex in her dream”
·        When Rachel talks about another dream shehad that involved Chandler and Joey, Ross asks if “anybody else was there” itcomes off really creepy
Episode 23: The One with the Birth
·        Everything has to be a competition when itcomes to Susan. They are timing Carol’s contractions and Susan says they are 55seconds apart and Ross has to interject and say they are 59 seconds apart andthat he has a better watch so his time is correct
·        Ross and Susan argue over getting Carolice chips
·        Ross and Susan argue over helping Carolwith a leg cramp
·        Blames Susan for the fact that they arelocked in a closet
·        Claims that no one has been waiting forthe birth of his son as much as he has (Carol and Susan are just as excited asyou are Ross calm down)
Episode 24: The One Where Rachel Finds Out
·        More jealousy over some guy that Rachel goesout on a date with
I probably forgot some stuff but for the most part season 1 Ross is just an asshole who is obsessed with Rachel and can’t over that fact that his ex-wife is a lesbian.

WARNING: LONG POST!!
Imgur Link -> HERE
For a chart of Episode 5, 8, and 10 rankings feel free to take a look at this google spreadsheet.
Brief Explanations:
Total = onsite + benefits + online votes
Onsite Votes = the number of live votes they received + any benefit
Online Votes = the number of online votes only
% of Online Votes = the percentage of voters who included this trainee in their 2 pick. (for example, if a trainee has the percentage 10% that means 10% of online voters included him in their 2 pick).
Z-Score: the number of standard deviations from the mean that this trainee’s votes were at
Ep. 8 Z-Score: this number is the z-score for Episode 8 rankings. It was included for comparison.
Z Change: this number shows the difference between Ep.8 z-scores and Ep.10 z-scores. Up arrows signify an increase, down arrows signify a decrease.
Online Votes and Percentages
Percentages:
These percentages were calculated by dividing the online votes column by the “total online votes” divided by 2 (because voters could only choose 2 people). Credit to /u/namhyun on /r/broduce101 for doing the first rankings and inspiring me to use their method.
Things to note:
If we only look at online votes and their percentages, the following would have different ranks:
Sewoon would be #16
Seonho would be #17
Guanlin would be #18
Youngmin would be #19
Haknyeon would be #20
Note: Guanlin’s and Seonho’s ranks are consistent with the hypothesis that they are being voted for together.
Points differences-
There is a 2.39 percentage point difference between #1 and #2
There is a 5.29 percentage point difference between #2 and #3
The difference between everyone below #3 is never bigger than 1 percentage point
Thoughts:
The very close percentages means that (as always) ranks are unstable. No one has an evident lead at this point which makes it easier for low ranked trainees to rise (under the right conditions) and for high ranked trainees to fall. The percentages are all smaller than the ones in Episode 8 because the voting pool is smaller, so what’s important isn’t the actual number, but how close all the numbers are to each other.
Z-score
As mentioned before, the z-score is the number of standard deviations from the mean that this trainee’s votes were at.
For example:
a z-score of 1 is 1 standard deviation above the mean
a z-score of -1.8 is 1.8 standard deviations below the mean.
A “good” z-score is anything to the right  (so -0.15 is better than -1.15 and 3.14 is better than 3.00)
Z-scores were calculated using the following formula
Z = (online votes - mean) / standard deviation
Please refer to the following descriptives chart if you’d like to confirm any of the z-scores yourself: (the available votes section refers to the online votes divided by 2 because each voter can pick 2 trainees). The mean and standard deviation are only for online votes.
Tumblr media
An approximate z-score was also calculated for Episode 8 using the same formula. This was done because Episode 8 had eleven-pick whereas Episode 10 had two-pick so in order to compare scores from the different distributions they were converted into standardized z-scores which place the score in a normal distribution. For more information about z-scores check this website.
Things to note:
In the top 20, only 6 trainees showed a positive difference in z-scores and out of all 35 trainees, only 8 showed an increase in Z-score.
6 Positive Changes in Z-Score
Daniel: 1.56 (from 1.62 to 3.18)
Sungwoon: 1.34 (from -0.18 to 1.16)
Jihoon: 0.56 (from 1.99 to 2.55)
Samuel: 0.35 (from 0.58 to 0.93)
Park Woojin: 0.18 (from 0.71 to 0.89)
Bae Jinyoung 0.11 (from 0.90 to 1.01)
In contrast, 27 of the 35 trainees showed a negative difference in their z-scores
Top 5 Negative Changes in Z-Score
Guanlin: 2.32 (from 2.03  to -0.29)
Youngmin: 2.06 (from 1.70  to -0.36)
Jonghyun: 1.94 (from 2.80 to 0.86)
Haknyeon: 1.44 (from 1.08 to -0.37)
Daehwi:  1.26 (from 1.85 to 0.59)
Thoughts:
It is important to keep in mind that the starting point of the trainee is very important- Both Jonghyun and Youngmin had similar z-score differences but Jonghyun only fell 4 ranks because his starting z-score was 2.80 whereas Youngmin fell 12 ranks because his starting z-score was 1.70.
It’s really interesting to see that 77% of all 35 trainees showed a decrease in z-score. This widespread drop allowed the trainees who did raise their z-score to rank higher. This is one of the reasons why the ranks of Sungwoon, Samuel, and Park Woojin made big jumps: their z-score growth was amplified by everyone else’s decreases. In Episode 8, rank #13 had a z-score of 0.89 but in Episode 10, rank #6 had a score of 0.88. This shows how low all the z-scores were in Episode 10 and how a small score in Episode 8 is now considered a high score in Episode 10.
If any of that is confusing let me know and I can clear it up- the point is: the big rank jumps are partly because because everyone else dropped. It’s actually really interesting that everyone dropped and not just those who didn’t have a “pairing”- of course, those without a “pairing” dropped the hardest but it still shows that there is a portion of the voting population that did not vote according to pairings.
Regarding the Jihoon/Jinyoung prediction of being the most powerful “ship” their ranks make it look like that but their z-scores show that there is a good chunk of the population who is not voting for them as a duo. Jihoon went up 0.56 in his z-score but Jinyoung only went up 0.11 and Jihoon’s current z-score is double of what Jinyoung’s is. So why is Jinyoung so high up compared to the last ranking? It’s because everyone dropped so his small increase amplified his rank.
Similarly the Ongniel duo’s z-score shows that they not voted together most of the time because Seongwoo decreased in z-score by 0.90 whereas Daniel increased by 1.56. Seonho and Guanlin’s z-scores are both -0.29 which is more consistent with the prediction that they are being voted for together.
Anomalies
The biggest anomalies are Guanlin and Sungwoon’s ranks. And by anomaly I mean: something that deviates from the standard data- I do not mean in any way that they don’t deserve their ranks or that anything was rigged.
Note: when I talk about rank drops or jumps I am only using data from official eliminations. Here’s a good website for an overall look at jumps and drops.
Sungwoon jumped 23 ranks which seems really big because there were only 35 contestants in this ranking. However we have seen big jumps before:
Youngmin jumped from #27 to #5 from Episode 5 to Episode 8
Yongguk jumped from #34 to #18 from Episode 5 to Episode 8
Sanggyun jumped from #43 to #27 from Episode 5 to Episode 8
Sunghyuk jumped from #51 to #24 from Episode 5 to Episode 8
I won’t list all but you get the point.
The point being, large jumps are not strange in this season. Sungwoon was 25 in episode 8 so he had a good starting point for the jump, but it is not abnormal at all in the context that this season is very unstable.
Guanlin had a 18 rank drop. Likewise, we’ve seen other drops before- most famously Samuel’s 14 rank drop, Hyeongseop’s 12 rank drop and Jisung’s 12 rank drop and now Youngmin’s 12 rank drop. However, the data for Guanlin is not enough for me to form any interpretation of why he may have dropped so much. The most intuitive one, though, is that people may not have liked his high rankings.
Sungwoon’s rank jump is actually not as “suspicious” as people say it is and may have been in part because of:
the overall spread out votes which results in more spread out z-scores which amplifies anyone who’s own z-score rose.
the popularity of his Downpour performance which trended on Naver
the good edit he got during episode 9.
check picks
A brief note about #2: Usually if a trainee performs on an episode where they close the voting (like Sungwoon did in Epsiode 7) any popularity from that will not translate to votes until the next voting period (which in this case is Episode 10 rankings). Similarly any controversies that happened after voting closed will not affect a trainee until the next voting period (and here it was Youngmin who dropped 12 ranks).
Let me explain #3 and #4 more in depth:
After episode 9 aired there were (I think) about 10 hours for people to vote. In those approx. 10 hours, the votes for  #1 jumped from 590,249 (that was shown on tv) to 727,943 (what the current #1 has). Similarly the rest of the ranks also rose by around 100,000 each (for ranks above #20). From the fact that only 1 pairing was close together in votes (Guanlin and Seonho) this shows us that there is a good chunk of the public viewers that vote based on what they see on the episode and not just based on ships or pairings.
Episode 9 showed Sungwoon as a hardworking, deserving trainee who kept getting passed from group to group even after showing he has the skills to be in any of them. This may have prompted people who hadn’t voted yet to vote for him in addition to his fanbase and to people who discovered him after his Downpour performance. Mnet’s showing of the rank numbers at the end probably motivated those casual viewers to vote right away because it made the voting more salient. So he may have already been top 6 on his own, but Episode 9 may have pushed him to top 3.
It’s important to also note that Mnet’s reminder of the ranks also motivated other fanbases to vote. From the way z-scores are so spread out, it seems like a portion of people decided to vote using check picks. Check picks are trainees that are low ranked (and therefore not threatening) that akgae fans will pick alongside their fave. This way their fave gets the votes and any competition is low. It could be that after Sungwoon’s good edit in episode 9, akgae fans chose him as their check pick because he’s well rounded, good looking, hard working, and was not ranked high enough in episode 8 to be a threat.
We’ve seen this happen before with Jisung who may have also been a check pick in people’s top 11 until he rose too high and then dropped. Sunghyuk, Yehyun, Youngmin, and Jonghyun are also examples of how a good edit can really increase your ranks.
Final Thoughts
These are interpretations based off the data from the last 3 rankings. I am not interpreting based on perceived popularity. Any explanations I offer are possible explanations and may not apply when considering other factors. Other things to consider are: the large number of akgae fans, the chunk of the population that are casual viewers, and voters who got complacent.
When I talk about good edits and check picks it is not meant to dismiss the trainee’s hard work or say that they don’t deserve their rankings. I am only exploring some of the reasons behind rank jumps and rank drops. As always, though, feel free to bring up anything that does not appear objective.

Which Star Wars the Clone Wars episodes you should watch
Okay I said I was gonna do this so let’s do this.
Before I start if I’ve crossed off an episode you like, watching an episode you don’t like, whatever, please don’t take this as offense, and unless otherwise stated assume my reasoning for these ratings are pretty resonating fandom opinion or objective facts about the show and not my personal opinion.
Alright, now let’s get into it.
Star Wars the Clone Wars: The Movie
Do Watch: This movie is very important for introducing new characters, as well as new interpretations of old characters. While not the most compelling story ever told in Star Wars, it is important, as the general beginning of this story. So yeah, watch that shit.
Season 1: The Beginning
So Season 1 seems to be the Season that most people will agree is just not as good as the others. The animation style wasn’t fully developed, their stories weren’t quite as interesting, and over all it just wasn’t quite as great as the other seasons. For this reason, it’s gonna have the largest “maybe” category out of any, so feel free to pick and choose which ones you want to watch from there.
Do watch: The only really definitely important ones you should watch are the last four episodes, 19-22, the Ryloth Arc and the Bounty Hunter finale. I say this because for me, this was the are where the show really started to kick off. The Ryloth arc featured really deep and compelling stories about the impact of war, and was the first time the show took a more interesting and emotional route than just a bunch of clones being clones shooting up some droids. We also get to see Ahsoka learn to work as a military leader, Obi Wan free a bunch of prisoners of war, and Mace Windu be badass. The Bounty Hunter finale is also good because it picks up where the movie left off, reopening plots from it and affirming that no, the problems of this war are not solved.
Maybe watch: Everything else but 4, 8, and 12. I could talk a bit more about this, but personally I’d rather get on with it.  None of these are bad episodes, they just don’t contribute much to the overall story. However I will say that episodes 17 and 18 have Jar Jar in them, and I explicitly excluded the Don’t watch episodes because they have Jar Jar in them, but I think that those episodes do an okay job even with our least-favorite Gungan.
Maybe don’t watch: Episodes 4, 8, and 12, too much Jar Jar not enough Star War.
Season 2: The Season you’ll thank me for telling you to not completely skip Season 1
In all seriousness, do watch those episodes I say to watch. I’m not telling you to watch them because they’re my favorite or anything, but rather because they’re important and contribute to the story, and you may not understand later events if you don’t. And strap in for Season 2, because where Season 1 has a lot of filler, this season literally doesn’t have an Episode that I’ve heard you definitely Should Not Watch™, but rather just a lot of Episodes you should and some you don’t have to that are still fucking amazing.
Do Watch: Episodes 1-9, 11-16, and 20-22. This season is really a great tone-shift, because it shifts it’s tone from last season’s staggering amount of filler to actually focusing on the main characters as well as the war. I’m gonna say something though, because Episode 16 is kind of a prequel to the Clone Wars movie, so if you wanna get the full experience of that, I definitely recommend watching that, then the movie, then the rest of the show.
Maybe watch: 10, 17-19. Which completes the season. These four episodes are kinda their own stand alone things that don’t quite contribute as much to the story but are no less just as good as the episodes above. This whole season is pretty great.
Season 3: Chronological Jumps
This season is a good one, but like my title suggests it hops around the story a bit. Nonetheless there’s still some pretty great content in there and we haven’t quite dripped yet.
Do watch: 5-7, 9-20. Pretty good stuff this season, pretty alright. We get more Hutt stuff, and I personally really like Hutt stuff (almost as much as butt stuff.) We really get to see the toll the war is taking on the Jedi here, and I’ve included those episodes in this list.
Maybe watch: 1-4, 8, 21, and 22. These episodes vary from Jedi-less clone stories to R2 and C3PO being kidnapped, but not bad in any respect. Like I said, this season has some story jumps, and episode 8 actually takes place before S1:22, and likewise episode 9 takes place directly after it.
Season 4: Back to some filler
This season... eh. It’s not terrible, it has some of the more favorite arcs out there like the Umbaran arc, The Obi-Wan disguised as a Bounty hunter arc, we pick back up with Savage, etc. It just has a bunch of filler again. It almost seemed like they had trouble finding good stuff to write about. After not seeing him for almost two season, Jar Jar’s back in like four or five of these episodes.
Do Watch: 7-10, 14-22. Like season 1, pretty good at it’s end. This is all the good stuff I mentioned above. If you’re gonna watch anything in this season, I definitely recommend the last 8 episodes. Also Ahsoka and her not-boyfriend Lux have an interesting bit in there.
Maybe watch: 5, 6, and 11-13. These episodes don’t contribute much to the story, ranging from more droid episodes to random political war debacles.
Maybe Don’t Watch: 1-4. The only reason I might watch this is young Admiral Ackbar, but I don’t even do that just spare yourself the Jar Jar torture.
Season 5: Back to that Good Wars in Stars
So this season is probably my personal favorite, mainly because it’s actually got the most amount of that sweet sweet content. And some of the better arcs. Sidenote, as some of you may know, Saw Gererra, the leader of the Jedha Rebellion in Rogue One, actually makes his first appearance in this season as a resistance fighter on his homeworld Onderon. So check that out. Cool stuff. Stuff that ties into Rogue one, yeah. This is the season that was cancelled near it’s end, and for a lot of fans is very melancholic, because it featured the end of Ahsoka’s time as a Jedi. We pick back up with her in Star Wars Rebels, but it’s still a bit depressing.
Do Watch: Epsiodes 1-9, and 14-20. If there’s any number of episodes you absolutely need to watch in the Clone Wars, it’s these 15 episodes. These are what this show is really about, and they tie off a few different arcs in the series. Watch them.
Maybe Watch: 10-13. These are droid episodes, ones that introduce a couple different characters and rely on hijinx instead of action for the most part, but in my humble opinion, they’re not at all bad, I actually enjoy these the most out of the episodes I’ve listed under “Maybe.” While some of the characters can be annoying, the locations and stuff we get to see is still pretty interesting.
Season 6: The Lost Missions
While they never actually aired on television, these unreleased episodes do a pretty solid job of tying off the show into Revenge of the Sith (or, if you watch it like I do, a New Hope.) Lots of foreshadowing takes place, and it’s really good if you wanna marathon it with the movies themselves. I’m just gonna give the whole Season a soft Do Watch, because they are worth it and you’re not gonna regret watching Rush Clovis die to be quite honest.
And that covers it all! Remember, if you feel this list doesn’t quite do the series justice, then feel free to make your own! If this post does well I may make one for Star Wars Rebels, or I’ll do it anyway when and if it ends.
If you like the Show and you want to get others into it, a reblog would be greatly appreciated. Have fun watching, and may the Force be with you!
