See More Seymour’s Week Day Two: Romantic Relationship Day

I had to do it—I had to draw one of my favorite rare pairs sharing a first kiss, Hugo and Ron, for @seemoreseymoursbay Day Two!! I think they’re good for each other because of how loyal and sweet Ron always is. He always acts as Hugo’s voice of reason, and has always stuck by Hugo’s side no matter what.

If Hugo had someone else to be with, I think he’d finally get over Linda, and would probably bother the Belchers a lot less. Of course, he’d still bother them occasionally, because he’s still Hugo, but it would be drastically reduced.

Sure, he had a date with that one woman in Romancing the Beef, but she never appears again and is never mentioned again, so I’m just going to assume things unfortunately didn’t work out between them. Just more opportunity for my rare pair ship to sail!! Please tell me I’m not the only one who loves the idea of these two together.

Also, I know it’s not super clear, but the hand that can be seen is Hugo’s other hand (his right one). His other arm just can’t be seen because of his position. The arm that can be seen is just for show, and bent in a way that his other hand can’t be seen. It seems a bit confusing with how I explained it, but I wanted to at least try to clear that up!!

See More Seymour's Week- Platonic Relationship Day

It's platonic relationship day for See More Seymour's Week (@seemoreseymoursbay) so I'm posting about one of my favorite background platonic relationships on the show- Rudy and Zeke! Alas, I don't have a fic about them to share but I still want to talk about them!

I always think it is interesting when the show shows relationships between kids at Wagstaff that don't involve the Belchers, and especially when it's kids who aren't in the same grade. And Zeke and Rudy are such a fun pair because they have some clear similarities (they are both really friendly and good natured) but also some notable differences (Rudy's pretty sensible, Zeke has a problem with impulse control).

Some canon highlights:

Them acting opposite each other in "Work Hard or Die Trying Girl"- with Zeke throwing wrestling into their number (to Rudy's approval despite getting crushed).

Rudy telling Zeke to shut up- and then immediately apologizing-in "Midday Run".

The flashback to them playing basketball in "Y Tu Ga-Ga Tambien"- honestly this is one of my favorites as it indicates that Zeke just really enjoys hanging out with Rudy- because Zeke is clearly not getting much athletic competition there!

Them being big fish and little fish in "A Fish Called Tina"- "I still think that Zeke might be my soulmate"

Zeke's concern over Rudy's broken arm in "The Hawkening" including feeding him tater tots (pictured)

Some headcanons/fic ideas:

They are both children of divorce and Zeke has experienced a parent getting remarried and having a younger half-sibling. If Rudy goes through the same thing at some point, it's easy to see him turning to Zeke about that.

Generally I see Rudy seeing Zeke (and Gene) as his surrogate big brothers and turning to them for advice about growing up, dating, etc. It's probably not always the best advice, but it's well intentioned.

I think that they play basketball together into adulthood (Rudy eventually becomes somewhat better but neither of them are great at it: they just like hanging out and getting exercise together.)

One day I hope to come up with a fic idea worthy of these two! (Also, hope I get the confidence to try to write for Zeke- he has a distinctive voice and I've never written for him.)

Of course, because it's the "Free Space" day for the last day of @seemoreseymoursbay week, I knew I just had to draw my precious baby child, Alexis. Because I had to. It was inevitable, and very necessary.

I decided to draw them wearing a cape with the Nonbinary flag on it, because yay for Nonbinary Pride!! I will always love them dearly.

For @seemoreseymoursbay Original Character day, here's Meg!

Margaret “Meg” Melody is the teacher for fifth grade at Wagstaff. She’s in her late-thirties and single (though whether or not that’s by choice is a hot topic of debate around the school). Meg has blue eyes, strawberry-blonde hair, and freckles as well as three piercings in each ear. She favors cardigans and soft jeans at work, although at home she’s most comfortable in pyjama pants and tee shirts.

Meg is an ambivert: she likes to go out for coffee or for drinks, but her clubbing days are long over. She’s an avid reader but also devours trashy reality television. The one surefire way to her heart is through her stomach. Meg frequents “Bob’s Burgers” regularly once she finds the place, since it’s within walking distance of the school: she can go get food, power-walk back to the school, and eat her lunch quietly on her phone in the teacher’s lounge. Meg loves routine except when trying new foods, and the Burger of the Day is a way for Meg to expand her horizons without causing any distress.

Meg eventually forms a friendship with Mort and then a romance. Mort is the kind, sweet person that Meg needs in her life. Meg isn't particularly squeamish about Mort's job but she can't handle body horror that includes foreign objects (such as insects). Meg loves all of Mort's silly jokes, whereas Mort loves that Meg will let him infodump.

Meg is very, very much a self-insert, lol. Friends and I have talked more than once about who we would be in the BB universe. I’m not chaotic enough for the bikers or the carnies. As well, I did seriously consider being a teacher in college; only the fear of ruining other people’s children stopped me from pursuing that path. Margaret and Melody are the names that my mother wanted for me except my father’s choice won out. Her outfit up there is based on one that I wear for going out, which is perfectly-acceptable for teaching children once I altered the top to be less revealing. In case anyone cares, the real version is a cream cardigan and a purple shirt but I’d have the shirt in blue if I could.
