Well, I did know Topolino made a parody of Dylan Dog...
I didn't know Dylan Dog made a parody of Duckburg!!!
Topolino #3094 and Dylan Dog Oldboy #4 "Per pagare e per morire" by Tito Faraci and Sergio Gerasi
Here's the official synopsis: "A young lady shows up at No. 7 Craven Road claiming she has been stolen a little coin with magical powers. Victim of a spell, the Investigator of Nightmares agrees to go with her and retrieve the coin from a terrible old man who seems to dominate an entire village…"
Here's the young lady:
And here's the coin and the terrible old man (name Scott McDoug)...
...who dominates the village in Scotland from his fortress on the hill...
...sorrounded by very familiar signs...
This happened two years ago, and I didn't know!!! I need to find this issue. Right now!!!
IT'S A PARODY IN REVERSE!!! 😱

Oggi compie gli anni un faro illuminante del fumetto mondiale. Un Maestro che ha regalato a chi come me ama leggere e disegnare fumetti, momenti indimenticabili.
Voglio fare gli auguri a Claudio Castellini.
Tributandolo a modo mio.

"I'd put a stake through her heart to make sure she doesn't come back." And Dylan Dog is someone who'd abide by that sentiment. This is an Italian comic which knows that no monsters can equate the real-world ones, the oligarchs, the abusers, the "normals", the elites, the "strong" lording their power over the weak, and that often the "monsters" we get told to hate are merely those among the weak and the oppressed that decide to fight back.
We've been seeing it all over in the real world not only with Palestine, but with every working-class, national or queer liberation movement that has ever been demonized. It's a pretty shitty paradigm, wouldn't you agree? It might do qith some changing.
Halloween's done, for what little fun could have been extracted from it when the horror is ever more real. Get organized, get busy. We must fix this world, lest we become monsters ourselves.
