Mini Fanfic #1149: First Ever Pocky Game Attempt (King of Fighters)

3:54 p.m. K and Kula's Apartment..........

Leona: (Looks Down a Small Box of Different Color Coded Sticks Shingo's Holding in his Hand) So these are the Pocky Sticks you've been telling me about, Shingo-Kun?

Shingo: (Happily Nodded) Yep!~ One of Japan's finest snack treats with three different flavors. I....didn't know which one of these in particular you would like, so I picked the box with the most variety.

Leona: I see. (Picks up One of the Sticks Out of Box Before Examining it a Bit Closer) And the challenge states that I eat one end of the stick while you eat on the other simultaneously?

Shingo: (Nodded Some More) Yep-Yep! It's pretty simple really. Whoever's mouth comes off the Pocky or gets to the middle first loses. And if.....(Starts Blushing While Rubbing the Back of his Head Back and Forth) we reach to point of the both of us kissing, it'll be automatic tie.

Leona: (Snickrs a Bit) What's with the flustered face for, darling?~ You do know we've kissed many times before, right?

Shingo: Yeah, but this is the first time we're gonna do the Pocky Challenge, as an official couple! (Starts Twiddling his Fingers a Bit) I wanted it to be a little special....or worth your time at least, you know?

Leona: (Heart Begins to Melt in Genuine Happiness) Your sweetness alone is worth every bit of my time being spent.

Shingo: (Smiles Back) Yours too~ Now let's get started.

Leona: (Nodded To his Commend) Right! Shall we do this on the count of three?

Shingo: Yeah-yeah. (Starts Leaning a Little Closer to his End of the Stick) One......

Leona: Two..........

Shingo/Leona: Thr-

Before either side could even begin the challenge, Kula suddenly jumps up in the middle out of nowhere and takes a single, huge bite of the pocky completely, leaving the couple. In question flabbergasted.

Kula: (Gushes Happily on the Pocky She's Eating as She Slowly Floats Down at Towards her Seat) Mmm it's so delicious, i love it!~

Shingo: (Comically Glares at his Blue Haired Friend) What the heck, Kula!?

Leona: (Gives Kula an Older Sisterly Glare on her Face) What did we say about eating someone else's snacks without asking first?

Kula: (Clasps her Hands Together While Putting on a Apologetic Look on her Face) I'm sorry!~ K was telling me about what pockies looks like that I couldn't help but to taste one for myself.

Leona: (Pinches the Bridge of her Nose While Groaning in Annoyance) Of course K has something to do with nonsense....

?: To be fair.....

The trio turns to see K munching on one of the pockies while holding a box of them in his hand.

K: She did asked me about them beforehand. (Quickly Raises his Hand at Shingo, Abruptly Sopping Him From Yelling Out his Name) And before start blowing up a casket, I only wanted to taste one for myself and so far.....(Continues Munch While Nodding in Approval) Mm. These aren't half bad.

Shingo: (Takes a Very Deep Breath Before Gritting his Teeth, Trying his Hardest Not to Blow an Actual Casket) Well, K', if you REALLY wanted to.know what they tasted like, then why haven't you asked me to buy you a box WHILE I was at the store at the time?

K': Phone was charging.

Leona: (Raises an Eyebrow, Unconvinced) Really? And what was stopping you from texting him while it was charging.

K': (Shrugs) Thought never occurred at the time, I dunno.

Shingo scrunches his hands in anger as he tries to approaches K', only to be stopped by Leona when she place her hand onto his shoulder and shakes her head at him, calming him down instantly as he sits back down in his seat and lets out a sigh of pure defeat.

Shingo: Glad you enjoyed the Pocky, K'. Truly.

K': Thanks, but I rather saved my appetite for our movie night coming up. (Turns to Kula While Lifting The Box Up a Little) Want the rest these, Kula?

Kula: (Let's Out a Gasps Before Turning to Shingo and Leona) Can I really have rest of them?

Shingo: (Smiles Sheepishly at Kula) Sure.

Leona: (Smiles as Well) Knock yourself our, Kula.

Kula: (Let's Out a Happy Squeal Before Hugging the Couple) Thank you, thank you, thank you so much!~

Kula rushes over to K' as he gives her the rest of the pocky sticks for her to eat.

K': If you lovebirds need me, I'll be in the kitchen seeing if Bogard got the pizzas yet. (Makes his Way to Kitchen With a Pocky Munching Kula Following Behind) I'm starving.

Shingo/Leona: 'Kay.

Shingo: ('Sighs Heavily') I love these two, but they can be a real headache sometimes......

Leona: Kula isn't too difficult to deal with at times. (Rolls her Eyes) Which is more than I can say for K' oddly enough......

Shingo: Tell me about it. Sorry that our first ever Pocky Challenge had to end like that. If I've known that would happen sooner, I would've brought two boxes instead of just one.

Leona: (Gives her Boyfriend a Reassuring Smile) That's quite alright, Shingo-Kun, I'm not opposed to trying again next year. Although, I do believe there's an alternative we could both do while making up for lost times. (Pulls Out a a Lipstick From her Pocket)

Shingo: (Eyes Widened a Bit in Genuine Surprise) Wait, timeout. You actually wore makeup before, Leona-san? I never even noticed.

Leona: I usually wear a few on some occasions. (Carefully Puts Lipstick onto her Lips) Even then, I wouldn't say I was ever completely fond of them to begin with.

Shingo: (Starts Blushing a Bit) Oh, well....I-I think you look amazing, with and without 'em on, ypu know?

Leona: (Smiles Softly) Why, thank you~ It means so much to hear you say that. (Smile Turns into a Seductive Smirk) As reward for your undying kindness, allow me to give you the loving and comfort you very much deserve, dar~ling-

Shingo: (Quickly Sticks his Hand Put Before Getting Up From his Seat) Wait! Before we start doing ANYTHING, let me do some stretches first, i-if ypu don't mind of course

Lrona: Not at all. Stretches can be beneficial for one's body in the long run.

Shingo: (Starts Stretching his Arms.....) Right? (.....Then his Back.....) It's super important! (.....Then Squats Down and Stretch Both his Legs Out) Helps you get more flexible resilient for years down the road with no strings attached. (Gets Back Up on his Feet)

Leona: How are you feeling right now?

Shingo: (Place his Hands onto Both his Hips With a Proud Smile on his Face) ('Whew') I feel like I'm falling a bit behind from my stretching routines there, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. Ready whenever you are-

Leona immediately pulls Shingo in a very loving kissing on the lips before pulling away for a second, leaving her boyfriend love struck in complete awe.

Shingo: W-W-Wow......That....might be our best kiss yet.......

Leona: (Taking a Bit if a Breather) Y-Yeah......I-I think so too.....But we are NOT done yet, mister~

Shingo: Yeah? Well....G-Give me your best shot, ma'am! No holding back!~

Leona: Gladly~ (Resumes Back to Making Out with her Boyfriend on the Sofa)

K': Oi, lovebirds! Rock says he'll be here in a few minutes with the pizza. (Walks Back Into the Living Room) I even convinced him to buy you two a new pack of Poc-

K' looks down to see Leona kissing all over a lovestruckend Shingo Yabuki's face before letting out his signature sigh.

K': (This is a very unsurprising turn of events and icky one nonetheless. (Shrugs) Eh. I'll let 'em be for now. It's the least I can do for ruining their little game.)

K walks back to the kitchen, leaving the couple alone in their session without either of them even noticing their friend's presence in the first place.

A week full of training has nearly passed~ During that time one certain vampire surely had no rest at all thanks to that stupid hunter. Just what was he thinking by constantly tossing knives at him and cracking his whip towards him? Hell, that fool was a demon or something? No, even any demon or monster can’t be so persistent and stubborn as this foolish human. Or so Kyo sometimes doubt. Last time, one of Yagami's knives flied so closely to his chest, arms and neck. So, it was a matter of a second to dodge the multiple knives thrown at once.

More important, this redhead started to use small bottles of water time from time during the training session. So, now not only this vampire has to dodge his more or less a familiar pattern of hunter’s attacks, but also make sure that the water won't touch his gloves. Surely, this human becomes quiet lively and enjoying every moment of training with Kyo, doesn’t he? Or so, started to notice this brunette, who just got used to play along with Yagami’s rules.

On other hand, it seems that Chizuru didn't mind what this certain pair of idiots were doing - as long as they are not around her shop, she was fine, or so this sorceress mentioned to them. At least these two are not scaring away the customers by making a dramatic scene or complaining about one or another. Sometimes she could swear that it was like taking care of a younger siblings, who are talented enough to cause problems out of nowhere. But for now, this witch could finally have a moment of peace and relax while they were busy somewhere else.

However, even on such a fine evening this brunette was under the care of this redhead. It seems that no matter that it was a chilly night, this vampire didn’t bothered to put his white jacket. First of all, he can easily warm up when he needs to deal with Yagami. Secondly, he didn’t wanted to ruin it because even if it was pretty expensive present, but also no matter that it might be embarrassing, he liked the design of it. Plus, he doubted that he can expect Iori to be generous twice. So, he decided to keep this jacket safe at least during the training session. Besides, this redhead didn’t bother to put his long coat either and was just fine by being in his long sleeved white shirt and black leather vest.

And thus, in the middle of open field near the forest the sounds of whip cracking, the clashing blade and bursting flame, disturbed the silence of the night. It seems that this vampire was lucky enough to dodge the knife attacks from the sides by carefully manoeuvring. However, now he has to deal with the one sent directly at his neck. Just as he bends backward, the sharp blade flies above him. Now Kyo stands straight and takes a battle stance. He sends a small wave of orange flame towards his opponent.

Yet the redhead hunter blocks this attack by low whip cracking. The sparkles of orange flame dances in the air before it submerges into the air unlike the fire in redhead hunter’s eyes. Nevertheless, this vampire jumps high towards his target and ignites his fist. Now he’ll just make that Yagami will finally snuff his fire.

Even if it was a brief moment, but it felt like the time stopped for this brunette once their eyes met. This nocturnal creature’s guard was off after noticing the way hunter’s gaze fixated on him. Surely, Iori’s eyes were sparkling with a thrill and full of life. However, along that, this vampire could sense such burning impatience despite the calm stance of this redhead.

Now Kyo was snapped back to his senses once Yagami sends an upper slash with his trustworthy weapon. This Kusanagi was paralyzed by stinging and burning pain by the strike of the leather rope all across from his abs to his chest. This brunette harshly fells on his back and lets out a loud groan. Although, while Kyo tried to sit up by shakily pushing himself with elbows, he just gave more fiery and stubborn gaze to his opponent. There is no way that this redhead hunter will win this time, or so, this vampire believed. However, Iori shown no mercy upon this nocturnal creature.

Now he picks three knives from the pouch on his left side of belt. While approaching his target, Yagami raises his hand with the blades and about to toss them at once. However, it was close enough if this brunette didn’t rolled on to his left. As knives sunk into the grass, Kyo kneels and when he brings his gloved hand to his mouth, he removes it by his teeth and tosses aside. It seems that relying on his flame was not enough.

Once the glove touched the ground, he rises his spread palm higher. Now the sharp nails shows up and this vampire dashes at the hunter. However, just the moment before the impact, Iori moves away. Nevertheless, it was nearly close enough for Kyo to slash him with his nails. This brunette masterly lands on his feet like a cat, but without hesitation dashes again at his opponent. He hoped that maybe he could strike this redhead from his other side.

However, Yagami’s reaction was quicker - he sends a spin kick at this brunette. Lastly, Kyo was sent flying-off until he harshly hits the ground. While this brunette manages to sit up, he covers his belly with his arm. This vampire tries to stand up one more time, but he was stopped by the hunter’s voice ‘‘Enough…You’re already barely standing, you stupid vampire.’’.

Unfortunately, the training ended with the same result. However, this Kusanagi could swear that it was that close enough to hit Yagami if it wasn’t for being distracted. While this vampire was getting-off the dust from his black t-shirt and from the front side of jeans, he speaks to the hunter in annoyed tone ‘‘You know, I let you win on purpose, so, you better be glad that I didn’t roasted you for good.’’. Once he looks at this redhead, who finished wrapping his whip and placed on his right side of the belt, this brunette comments ‘‘Anyway, it seems that you looked so excited just for a training. Wonder why…’’.

Iori only cracks a smile and briefly replies ‘‘I’m just wondering what you can do when you fully recover. So, I’ll need wait as much as needed, because you might be the one who can satisfy me.’’. Now Kyo gives a smug look on his face and after he walks close enough this redhead, he vampire wraps his one arm around the hunter’s shoulder and answers in nearly singing voice ‘‘Then dream on~ ‘Cos you’ll be under my foot and being drained until the last drop when it happens. So, you may start to practice your lines when you gonna beg for mercy and prepare all my wanted answers.’’.

However, it seems that the redhead hunter didn’t liked how this Kusanagi become too cocky and so, he puts him back to his place by back-firing in slight mocking tone ‘‘First, stop acting like a cat. Unless, you are somehow a half-breed of nekomata(1) and vampire.’’. Surely, Kyo widens his eyes and tried to back-off once he removed his arm from hunter’s shoulder. However, now this vampire felt how one of this redhead’s arm wraps around his waist. He didn’t wanted to give up so easily to this foolish human and without hiding the surprise in his voice, he tells ‘‘What are you talking about? I ain’t some kind of hybrid. I’m pure-blooded vampire, unfortunately! Not sure why you think that I’m a cat. Like heck, I look or act as a one!’’.

Yagami closes his eyes and sighs - it was really hard to keep his poker-face when this brunette indignantly yet impatiently starred at him with such a big eyes. Does he really have to put such an acting? Could it be that this stupid vampire just being easily provoked by a simple comment? Or so wondered this redhead hunter. However, maybe it was better chance to find out about more about Kyo’s weird behavior when he was sleeping. So, no matter how it might been more amusing to tease this vampire, but Iori’s curiosity was more stronger. And thus, he deeply exhales and asks ‘‘I can understand why you have fangs and claws. However, explain me one thing. Why are you making purring and meowing-like noises during your asleep. Or is it a normal thing for you or your kind?’’.

Surely, this brunette was speechless and after short pause he replied slightly shaky voice ‘‘Don’t you think that you get away by thinking-off random excuses for your weird behaviour. Just because I was unconscious, it doesn’t mean that you can take an advance of me and lie without even blinking. Hell, you think that I’m aware of anything around me while I’m asleep or unconscious?’’.

Now this vampire lowers his head for a second and when he returns his gaze, he continues in concern tone ‘‘However, I can still remember that when we were in storage, you were waaay to stressed and very scared of losing...someone, I g-guess. I could even sense that you were so desperate and just seek for a comfort. Of course, I wanted to snap you out of this and show that ‘everything is fine’, ‘I’m over there and still fine and alive’, you idiot! So, if it wasn’t for being unable to move my body, I…’’, it seems that the further words stuck inside this brunette’s throat and now he lowered his head and averted his gaze from Iori.

Just why this vampire have to behave like this or achieve by these words? Yet one one thing for sure, this nocturnal creature didn’t looked too cunning or smart to deceive this hunter. He was simply too honest and acted on impulse without thinking about any consequences. However, just in case, he needs to know for sure whenever this brunette is deceiving him or not. For some reason he felt that it could assure him. So, now Iori brings Kyo closely to him. There was barely any space left between them.

Now this places his hand under this brunette’s chin and gently tilts his head. So, this vampire only swallows saliva as he widens his eyes and now impatiently waits how this unpredictable man going to act. Yagami only silently fixates his gaze on this brunette and after a short pause comments in calm tone ‘‘You don’t look smart enough to trick me, nor you’re a nekomata, that’s for sure. You’re just a trouble-maker, who keeps me causing constant problems, you stupid vampire…’’. Of course, this Kusanagi frowns and was about to open his mouth to tell not the kindest words to this hunter, however, Iori places the same hand behind Kyo’s head and now presses it against his chest.

This brunette widens his eyes for a moment, but as soon as he hears the heartbeat of this redhead, he nearly closes his eyes, it was simply so relaxing and calming. So, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to rest his head for awhile like this. More important, Kyo realized that this time he was able to control his body, so, now he stretches his arms and wraps his arms around Yagami’s neck. After this vampire lifts his head, he looks at this redhead with strangely sleepy gaze.

Even so, his one hand gently slides up from Iori’s neck towards his hair and starts to brush it. Yagami could feel how was slightly shaking Kyo’s hand yet he just allowed this nocturnal creature act as he wants. Besides, he was curious what this vampire was up to. However, this brunette says in nearly purring tone while keeping a calm look on his face ‘‘You keep doing things like these too. So, I just want you to taste how does that feels like. Don’t you think that you’re get away so easily after what you’ve done to me. Once I’ll fully recover, I’ll make it up for what you’ve done, but with doubling it up.’’.

However, a little fire sparkles in the hunter’s eyes and now he delightfully smiles as he replies ‘‘Then why don’t you try it already? I won’t accept any less than your best. So, don’t disappoint me when that day will come, Kyo.’’. Nevertheless, this vampire counter-attacks in sweeter tone ‘‘I’ll make you realize that you’ve made a huge mistake by teaching me how to defeat you.’’.

After this brunette chuckles, he gazes with shyer look on his face. Now he continues ‘‘But for now, I’ll show you what happens when you try to tame a wild beast.’’. Kyo just swallows saliva and closes his eyes. After he slightly opens his mouth, he presses his lips against Iori’s. Despite that he felt how he could melt in same spot, this brunette’s tongue tries carefully slip inside Yagami’s mouth. Surprisingly, this redhead lets him in and this vampire started to explore every part of Iori’s mouth without missing a single spot.

However, it seems that soon enough this nocturnal creature started to let out quiet whims in between catching his breath. Hell, even if he felt how his knees could give up on him any second, but now also Iori started to gently slide the same hand, which was placed on vampire’s waist, upwards. So, now Kyo more tightly hold into the hunter’s back. Just when he expected something more to happen, this redhead slowly with-draws his head away.

After opening his eyes, he notices how this vampire was still all blushing while catching his breath and dazing. Maybe it was still too much to handle for this nocturnal creature, but Iori had to admit it, it was quiet daring move from this vampire’s side. However, soon enough Kyo was back to his senses despite having his cheeks dyed in that lovely red. While he starred at Yagami, he comments in purring tone ‘‘Just look at yourself…You’re all blushing, was it too much for you to handle?~ I warned you though.’’.

Of course, such a comment of this brunette caught this redhead’s guard off, but once he removes his arms around the vampire, he tells in slightly shy tone ‘‘Anyway, for today you’ve had enough. Go and rest before another day. Because tomorrow, we’re setting on new journey. This time I won’t interface and I’ll just observe you.’’ and turns his head from this brunette.

In the end, Kyo just gives a smug look on his face while observes such a reaction of the hunter and now replies ‘‘What is it with you, Yagami? You don’t need to rush and whatever there is tomorrow can wait. So, why don’t we just sit back and stay for awhile?’’. After looking back at this vampire, Iori sighs and closes his eyes. Without telling a word he sits on his knees and now he prompts Kyo in slight annoyed tone ‘‘So you’re joining or not?…Just hurry up before I changed my mind, you stupid vampire.’’.

Of course, after this demand this Kusanagi joins him and now once he places his arms behind Yagami’s shoulders, he rest his head on this hunter’s chest. Strangely, but Iori didn’t minded to stay like this and somehow was even glad for such a peaceful moment.

Leona: A little, but it didn't take too long for me to work up the courage to the take the lead fortunately. It also helps that the recruits were all cooperative throughout the whole ordeal.

Shingo: That's good. Does it feel like something you wanna do again sometime in the near future?

Leona: I suppose, but only when I'm ordered to do so again. I don't think I have the capabilites become a full fledged leader just yet.

Shingo: That's understandable. Leadership takes a lot of work from what I've heard.

Leona: You've heard right. It takes years of building trust and forming a strong connection with your fellow comrades into becoming one. Both qualities I must learn if I were to ever lead again.

Leona: (Simply Nodded as She Accepts Her Boyfriend's Help) I am, yes. (Looks Up at the Pitched Black Ceiling Above Her and Shingo) Though, I can't say i have the slightest clue as to why that "Soulmates Questionaire" we've participated brought us here....

Shingo: Probably to mess with us. I have seen a few pranks aired on game shows before. But definitely not to this extreme.....

Leona: (Turns to Shingo) ('Sigh') Well, either way, it's best that we stick close together in this, Shingo-Kun. There's no telling what they got in store for us now.

The sound of all the lights getting turned on one by one was loud enough to ring the couple's eardrums in surprise, causing Shingo to get startled and hug onto Leona's shoulder next to him, as they turn around to see the room reveals itself to have blue, aurora filled skies, flower filled field, a vine carrying a portrait from the ceiling, and a road with a few sets of heart shaped wooden tunnels going up ahead, while the sound of organs suddenly starts playing out of nowhere.

Shingo: (Starts Looking Around the Place Along with Leona in Surprised and Confusion) What....the.....heck.......

Leona: Is this what the Questionaire has been leading us down to?

Mechanical Voice: It seems you have reached your destination.

Shingo gets startled once again by the mechanical sounding voice as he and Leona quickly positioned themselves in their battle stance, with the former shaking a little.

Mechanical Voice: Up ahead, they see a bride and groom's joyous commemorative photograph of their undying love and passion for one another.

Shingo: I think it's talking about that picture over there.

Leona: (Squints her Eyes at the Portait Shingo's Pointing her To) Is that right? (Makes her Over to the Portrait Along with Shingo) I wonder it's doing in a place- (Eyes Slowly Starts to Widened at What is In Front of Her and Shingo) Like.......This?

Shingo: Oh.....my god.......

The surprised looks duo's faces are present as they see a portrait of Leona dressed in a black tux like dress, carrying Shingo in his arms, who is dressed in a white wedding dress.

Shingo: WE GOT HATCHED!? HOW!? WHEN!? I-I don't remember doing any sort of proposal!! I DON'T EVEN HAVE A RING ON ME TO GIVE!!!

As Shingo continues to ramble on while walking and pacing back and forth, Leona suddenly starts to notice something was off about the portrait itself as she starts taking a closer look.

Leona: Hm. As I expected. (Turns Back to her Boyfriend) Shingo-Kun, I-

Shingo: This is insane! I mean, I know I dreamed about getting married one day, but now!? I'm not even close to being prepared a wedding!

Shingo: Oh God, and what will everyone in our circle will say?

Rock: That's because it was alllllllll the way over there. (Points Shingo and Leona Towards the Staircase Located in Far, Far, Far Distance From the Altar) It's a miracle we have Kula use her breezey wind to help keep us cooled off before running down here.

Mary: Luckily, before we did all of that, we also managed to catch the crooks who's been operating this entire "Romantic Love Show" as one of their many get-real quick schemes. (Points to the Three Men Tied and Taped Up Together, Whimpering)

Shingo: So.....this whole wedding thing is fake after all?

Leona: As in....really, really fake.

Rock: Yep. It's been a sham this entire time. Kinda easy to tell really.

K': As if either of you would fall for something like that in the first place.

Shingo and Leona immediately starts blushing while looking away from the others.

K': (Eyes Widened in the Realization as He Lowers his Shade Down From his Face) Oh my God, you two actually this was all real, wasn't it?

Shingo: (Immediately Glares at K' Along with Leona) NO!

1:46 a.m. at Yabuki's Apartment's Living Room......

It was a dark, clear night in the streets of South Town where almost everyone are at their homes fast asleep for the rest of the evening.

Whereas our two lovebirds, Shingo Yabuki and Leona Heidern, are sitting down on the sofa together holding onto their mugs of hot coco after waking up from their respective nightmares.

Shingo: (Takes a Sip of his Drink Before His Eyes Begins to Sparkle in Awe) My god...... (Takes Another Sip of Coco with a Bright Smile on his Face) This has to be the best cup of coco I've ever tasted! I don't even think mom could ever top something THIS amazing no matter how hard she try!....D-Don't tell her I say that once we see her again, 'Kay? (Chuckles a Bit Awkwardly)

Leona: (Giggles Softly While Playfully Rolling her Eyes) I won't say anything, I promise. And I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Seriah used to make me mug whenever I stayed up late in this hour, until she taught me how to make on myself. Shingo: I see......(Eyes Suddenly Begins to Widened at the Realization) Wait. You said that you and the Colonel have been doing those special training sessions together that help keep it under check, right? How's that been going along, i-if you don't mind me asking.

Leona: It's been going along smoothly for the most part thankfully. It wasn't without It's challenges mind you, but it still helped me out a lot since then. It made me feel more calm and....more in control than I ever was since then.

Shingo: (Smiles Brightly) That's great! You're making progress and I couldn't any prouder.

Leona: (Snickering a Bit) You sound almost exactly like my father whenever I give him status report.

Shingo: (Starts Snickering as Well) Me? Sounding like the great Colonel Heidern? I don't believe it~

Leona: (Giggles Softly) It's true!~ In private whenever no one was around the area, he would always brag and tell me how proud he is of me and how far I've come to get to where I am now.

Shingo: As he should be! Any parent would be proud of the progress their offsprings would make. (Gently Grabs Hold of his Girlfriend's Habds) And look, I know how scary and stressful this Orochi fiasco gets overtime, but keep doing what you do best in your training. Leona: (Simply Nodded) I remembered, yes. And it still worries me to no end.

Shingo: ('Sighs Heavily') Yeah, I figured you say that....But that was the dream I had tonight. Only this time.....No one was there to save us.....I wasn't strong enough to protect Kyo......or to fulfil Chizuru-Senpai's promise.........(Tears Starts Falling Down From his Eyes).....And I....('Sniff') wasn't able to see my mom and sisters again on that night.......

Leona: (Starts Getting Worried) Shingo.......

Shingo: And..... ('Sniff') I know. I know it's dumb of me to keep thinking about that now that I'm.....still alive and breathing....And I'm pretty sure Kyo has already gotten over it a long time ago, but.....('Sniff') I-I don't know! I....('Sniff') Just.... the thought of the possibilities of us not being so lucky at all kept scaring me nonstop!

Leona: It's....starting to get too much for you, isn't it?

Shingo: ('Sighs Heavily') Pretty much, yeah. (Starts Wiping the Tears Away) ('Sniff') Pretty dumb, am I right?

Leona: (Gently Grabs Hold of Shingo's Hand) No it isn't. Believe me, I know what it's like to have past trauma trying to weigh you down at your very lowest at times. But you can't let it take toll out of you forever.

Shingo: (Takes Another Deep Breath as He Starts Calming Himself Down) Yeah....You're right. I still have my whole life ahead of me to look forward to right now. ('Sigh') I just wish it wasn't too.....complicated, you know?

Leona: It's never gets easier down the line, but never lose hope. (Gives Shingo a Reassuring Smile on her Face) I know you have what it takes to overcome it completely one day. And I'll be more than happy to help out and support you every step of the way.

Shingo: (Sitting on the Middle Side of the Sofa Twiddling his Fingers a Bit) So, you guys are.....a thing now?

Kyo: (Proudly Nodded) Yep.

Chizuru: (Smiles Softly) We've actually been a thing for quite a while now.

Shingo: Oh really? Fir how long?

Kyo: A half a year, give her take.

Shingo: Huh. B-But wait. How did this all started and.....Whatever happened to you and Yuki-san, i-if you don't mind me asking.

Kyo: (Shrugs) We broke up a while after the 15th KOF tournament ended. We wanted a lot different things, so it didn't work out in the end. A few weeks after that trainwreck later, I bumped into Chizuru again, talked and hangout a lot more than we usually did when we were a team until we started catching feelings for one another.

Chizuru: It took us a while to get used to one another, but it wasn't long until we eventually started to let our feelings run it's course thanks to a lot understanding and communication. And it was here and there that we started to truly love each other. (Hugs Kyo's Arm) Just the three of us~

Shingo: Awwwww~ (Raises an Eyebrow in Confusion) Wait. Three of us?

Kyo: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell ya. We're in a three way relationship.

Iori: (Turns to Shingo as He Gives him a Simple Nod) Yabuki. (Turns to His Two Lovers Beside Him) I take it you three are getting started on that Anime Binge Watching Night or whatever?

Iori: (Looks Back at Shingo's Very Surprised Look) I see.

Shingo watches as two of the Three Sacred Treasures playfully bickers at one another over their significant third half. They seem to really fond of him all things considered. And while the fighter in training may not like or trust Yagami himself, it's....kinda nice to see him found two people he could love and cherish for the rest of his days despite everything. But to make sure the fondness between these three doesn't deceive him completely......

Shingo: H-Hey.

Kyo: (Gives his Attention to Shingo Along With Chizuru) Hm?

Chizuru: Yes, Shingo-Kun?

3:45 p.m. at the Bogard's Residence's Living Room.......

Shingo: (Okay, Shingo, this is it. You've reached Boo, that River Raiders minigane gave me just the amount coins I needed and then some, despite how slow and....slightly one-sided that experience was, now it's time for me put my final piece of the plan in motion and steal me a Star! Now granted, as a reminder, you are up against two out of three of your best friends who are stronger and elmentally more talented than you and your girlfriend whom you love and cherish each and everyday of your mundane life. Doesn't change the fact that you still have five or four more turns left in this board and-)

Shingo: And here we are: our new home!

Leona: (Looks Around the Inside of the Apartment as Shingo Politely Let Her Walk in) It looks nice and cozy.

Shingo: (Smiles Brightly as He Closes the Door Behind Him) Thanks. It's not as too familiar as our old home, but I'm still liking it so far.

Leona: Do you ever missed being in Japan?

Shingo: Sometimes. I miss seeing mom, Saisyuu Sensei, and Mrs. Kusanagi-san a lot, but at the same time, I'm.....kinda starting feel more home here in Southtown as of late. Mostly cause I have Rock, K', Kula, Ms. Mary, Chizuru-Senpai, Athena, Hinako, Malin, and....(Smiles Softly at Leona) you here with me.

Leona: (Heart Begins to Melt in Genuine Happiness) We're happy to have you here with us too, Shingo-Kun. (Gives Shingo a Loving Hug)

Shingo: (Heart Starts to Flutter as He Happily Hugs Leona Back For a Couple of Seconds Before Letting Go and Clappibg his Hands Together) Okay! What kind of movie you wanna watch first?

Leona: (Eyes Widened a Bit) You want me to pick first? Are you sure?

Shingo: (Happily Nodded) Yeah, you're my house guest. (Holds his Finger in a Proper Manner) Tsubaki says that I should always treat anyone I welcomed I'm this house with politeness and respect. Especially if it's that guest in particular, is a pretty gir- (Immediately Blushes Once He Realizes What He's Saying) FRIEND! Friend! I-I mean, pretty friend- J-JUST FRIEND! Not to say that you're not pretty or anything, you are very, very pretty- B-B-But that's besides the point!!

Leona: (Starts to Blush as Well Before Bringing her Ponytail in Front of Her Face to Hide In) T-Thanks. You're too kind.....(Finally Let's Go of her Ponytail) B-But if you insist, I was thinking we could watch that Powerpuff Girks Movie together.

Shingo: Oh really? I didn't know you like the series.

Leona: I didn't at first. But Kula convinced me to watch a marathon of it one time and I've became a fan ever since. Also, i advise you to stay clear from the reboot.

Shingo: ('Sigh') A bit too late on that one, Leona-san...Naomi and I watched an episode of it a year or two ago and hated it ever since.

Leona: Which episode did you two watched?

Shingo: The one with the panda.....(Shivers at the Painfully Memory)

Leona: You poor thing.

Shingo: Yeah....But anyways, you want anything to snack before we get this movie night started?

Leona: I'm still full from the restaurant we ate together earlier. But I wouldn't mind having a bottle of water.

Shingo: (Smiles Brightly) Bottle of water it is! (Makes his Way towards the Kitchen) In the meantime, make yourself feel at home and relax.

Leona: (Simply Nodded) Okay.

Leona walks over to the sofa in front of her and sits down. As she waits for Shingo to bring her beverage, she notices two picture frames standing on top of coffee table in front of her. One was a family portrait of him, his sisters and an older woman behind them, whom she assumes that their mother, and the other was a group picture of he taken with Kyo, Saisyuu, Chizuru, and the rest of members of Team Japan. There are many differences between two photos side by side, but the one similarity they both seem to have is that it shows off the fighting protégé's bright, optimistic smile, the same that brightens up everyone's day, even hers. They were so infectionate that it causes Leona to form one of her own, a fond one if you will.

It didn't take too long for the Ikari Warrior in question to decide to let her hair down. She was told to make herself feel at home, so it wouldn't kill her too much to unwind a little every once and a while, despite that being something she needs to work on, given it's a critique her peers gave her.

Shingo: (Walks Back into the Living Room With Two Bottles of Water in his Face) I'm back with the wa- (Eyes Begins to Widened at the Sight of Leona and Her Long Hair) -ter......

Leona: (Smiles Softly) Welcome back. (Notices Shingo is Staring at her) Is...everything okay?

Shingo: ............

Leona: Shingo-Kun?.......Shingo!

Shingo: (Immediately Comes Back to Reality) Oh! Yeah, uh.....Sorry about that. I just....Never expected to see you with your hair down up until now. You look so pretty- GREAT! Great. You look pretty great I mean! Again, not to say you're not pretty or anything, which you are, by the way, very much so- I....(Sighs in Defeat as He Hands Leona her Drink) Here's your water......

Leona: (Receives her Bottle of Water While Looking Away, Blushing) T-Thank you. For the water....and the compliment....(Slowly Turns Back to Shingo) Are you ready to watch our first movie together?

Shingo: (Quickly Nodded) Yeah, totally.

Shingo makes his way to the sofa and sits down next to Leona before turning on the TV with regular sized remote and then turning on the FireStick with the mini remote control next. As he searches through the movie he's looking for, a million thoughts begins to run circles in his head, all of which involves having feelings for a certain military combatant right next to o him.

On one hand he wonders a scenario would be like if him and Leona would ever start dating, how affectionate either of them would become as time passes, which to him, at least, would be nice. They've gotten along so well since they've first met, so having them.be a couple wouldn't be too much of a hassle (hopefully). But all good, wishful thinking must come to a stretching halt Shingo now starts to think about the worst case scenario: where Leona would decline his offer and starts seeing him as a distraction, a nuisance even. Which to him is....kind of understandable. He does have the tendency to annoy people on some occasions, even to his closest peers. So it wouldn't be too surprising if she starts getting sick of him someday, which he really hopes that never comes to tuition, but only time can only tell on that one.

But in the end, the option Shingo ultimately choose is the middle ground: confess his ongoing feelings to her now and embrace any form outcome heading his viewpoint, good or bad. This the new year, a new beginning for everyone, and he refuse to let something as trivia as mushy feelings get in the way of resolution: to become a stronger, more confident person everyone and himself can rely on.

Sp as he finds the words Powerpuff Girls Movie on the screen, he puts the mini remote back down on the table, takes a deep breaths, and mentally gives himself a word of encouragement before-

Leona: Shingo-Kun?

Shingo: (Comes Back to Reality and Turning to Leona) Hm?

Leona: There's......(Starts Rubbing her Arm Nervously) Something I've been meaning to tell you all day....(Turns her Head to Shingo) If you don't mind hearing me out.

Shingo: N-Not at all! (Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) I wanted to tell you something too, but you can go first....

Leona: If you insist. (Takes a Very Deep Breath) Okay. It's been a long time coming, but....I....I-I......(Starts Closing her Eyes While Blurting Out....) I-I think I have a romantic feelings for you! A really, REALLY huge one!!

Shingo: Oh, that's great- (Eyes Finally Starts to Widened) Wait, WHAAAAAAAAT!? B-B-But when!? How!?

Leona: The night of December, when I....kissed you under the Mistletoe (Without Consennnnnt!.....) I didn't want to think much of it at the time, but overtime, I started to look back on our bond and all the times we've spent together. And granted, I'm well aware that romance takes a lot of effort and communication....(Closes her Eyes Again) But I still wanna give it chance! I wanna give YOU a chance because YOU Shingo Yabuki worth so much more than you think you do! ('Sigh') But still, I completely understand if you don't feel that-

'Sniff'

Leona: (Turhs Back to See Shingo's Sparkling,Teary Eyes) Shingo-Kun?

Shingo: Leona....('Sniff') I feel same...('Sniff') (Closes his Eyes as He Blurts Out) I HAVE A REALLY HUGE ROMANTIC FEELINGS ABOUT YOU TOOOOO!~

Leona: Wait. (Eyes Starts to Widened as Her Bkush Turns Bright Red, Equivalent to That of a Tomato) Y-Y-You do!?~ W-When? How!?

Shingo: (Starts Wiping his Eyes) Last year, when we went to the coffee shop together after our workout session. When I....(Blushes Again) said that you're amazing and any guy would be lucky to date you....Also, I may have slipped and called you the two words I never I would ever say put together in a sentence.

Leona: Full Package?

Shingo: Yeah, that. I thought about it a lot since then and it didn't really help that the kiss you gave me under the Mistletoe that night basically ignited my feelings for you even more than I let on. Which I liked a lot by the way! Just wish I'd reacted less embarrassing is all...B-But anyways, yeah. I thought about all of that and you along with it. How....things would turn out if we start dating and whatnot. But I've also figured that there might be a chance that you wouldn't feel the same and that you would....also probably think of me a nuisance after a while-

Leona: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Shock) What? Shingo, why would you think I would ever think that way about you?

Shingo: I dunno! It's just the thought that occurred to me at the time! It's nerve wrecking!!

Leona: ('Sigh') I agree. I can't tell you how many time I've been stressed out over these scenarios. (Gently Grabs Both of Shingo's Hands) But even then, I would never think anything terribly about you. I adore you too much to do something like that.

Shingo: You....really mean that?

Leona: (Simply Nodded) I do. Your sweet, upbeat, and especially goofy attitude always manages to put a smile on my face whenever we had the chance to spend time together. And it's thanks to all of that and more it inspired me to be express myself a lot more than I have been, let loose from all the stress and usual seriousness I've displayed on duty.

Shingo: (Genuine Surprised by Leona's Words) Wow. I....never thought I would make that much impact on you.

Leona: (Giggles Softly) Well, it's the truth, isn't it? You're not the only one who've made an impact in my life thus far, mind you, but I will never take your contribution for granted.

Shingo: (Heart Begins to Melt in Pure Happiness) Thanks, Leona-san. I'll never your contribution for granted either.

Leona: (Eyebrow Raised a Bit in Confusion) What contribution exactly?

Shingo: For taking the time to train with me to be a better fighter. (Starts Twiddling his Fingers Together Bashfully) As well as for spending time with me....and being my friend....

Leona: (Giggles Some More) You're very welcome, Shingo-Kun~ (Suddenly Begins to Frown at the Recent Thought) But.....Can I.....ask you another question?

Shingo: What's up?

Leona: Are you....aware of Orochi? And his influence?

Shingo: (Simply Nodded) Yeah. Sensei and Chizuru-Senpai already filled me on everything. About the Hakkeshu, their history, and.....the Riot of the Blood. (Gently Squeezes Both of Leona's Hands and Gives her Determined Look on his Face) And before you say anything else, let me tell you right here and now that you having that cursed won't ever stop me from loving you!

Leona: I-I know, but.....what if I suddenly start losing control again? What if I end up hurting you in the process?

Shingo: (Smiles Reassuringly) Then I'll just have to do everything I can to calm you back down to your sense. Besides, I almost got killed by Iori once, it won't be that much of a big deal- Why did I say that out loud?

Leona: (Eyes Widened in Horror) You WHAT!? Iori used the Riot of the Blood on you!? How!? When!?

Shingo: ('Sighs in Defeat') A few years ago after the 11th KOF tournament ended....(Eyes Widened a Bit of the Memory) On that bridge.... (Suddenly Felt Leona's Hands Shivers with His Before Going Back to Reassurance Mode) B-But I promise to tell you all about it one of these days. Right now, I want you to know from the bottom of my heart that you are NOT a monster nor are you ever Orochi's slave. You are Leona Heidern, the strongest solider I've ever have the pleasure of meeting, whom I and everyone of your peers love very much and that will never change.

Leona felt tears falling down from her eyes as she let's go of one of Shingo's hands to use her own to wipe them away with a small, hopeful smile creeping up on her face.

Leona: ('Sniff') You really are too kind for this world, Shingo-Kun....

Shingo: (Smiles Softly) You too. You deserve to be happy.

Leona's heart begins to flutter as she stares into Shingo's eyes and the care and sincerity it displays with it. It was comforting to see and hear that her love ones cared deeply about her and her well-beings. Even more so that one of them is the boy she's falling in love with. His words fueled something within her. A determined, strong fuel that could never be put out no matter who or what tries to do otherwise.

She'll figure it all of out some other time. As of right now however, Leona has something else in mind get over it.

Leona: Shingo?

Shingo: Hm?

Leona: Sorry, but....Can I....do something right quick?

Shingo: Uh sure. What is it you wanna do?

Leona: (Gently Places her Hand Onto Shingo's Cheeks) This.

Leona leans her head forward and gives Shingo a soft, loving kiss on the lips, sealing the deal of it's entirety. Much to the boy's very apparent surprise.

Shingo: (Blushes Yet Again) Woah.....

Leona: You....like?

Shingo: Yeah.....I like it a lot. So....I guess that means we're uh....

Leona: A couple now. I don't know about you, but....(Smiles Bashfully at Shingo) I would like that to happen. Though, I'm....still new to the whole....romance thing, so....please try to bear with me.

Shingo: (Smiles Softly) Only if you could do the same for me. But...uhhhh...can we....you know? Kiss again? Just for the hell of it?

Leona: (Giggles Softly) Of course~

The newly founded couple leans closer to one another for a second kiss until.....

'BA DA DADADA DA DAAAAAA!'

Shingo/Leona: (Gets Startled by the Jingle Before Turning Towards the TV to see That the Movie a has Started Playing)

Shingo: Huh. (Chuckles a Bit) I guess the FireStick gotten tired of us waiting for so long, huh?

Leona: (Giggles Softly) Yeah. But I think we've wasted enough time as it is. B-But uhh...one more thing and that's it for tonight, but.....Do you....maybe wanna....cuddle together?

Shingo: (Smiles Brightly) Would i!?~ But before we do that....(Grabs a Folded Blanket from the Arm of the Sofa) We gotta get comfy first. (Uses the Blanket to Cover Both Himself and Leona) Like this.

Leona: Hm. Well, what do you know? (Scoots Over to Shingo and Hugs Him) I feel nice and comfy already~

Shingo: (Happily Hugs Leona Back) Told ya. It's relaxing, you know?

Leona: Agreed.

TV Screen: The City of Townsville

Shingo: Leona

Leona: Hm?

Shingo: I know I've already told you this earlier today, but I really mean it when I say that I love you. And I'm willing to tell you that everyday if you want me to.

Leona: You really don't have to do that. (Smiles Softly as She Snuggles Onto to Shingo's Embrace) But I'll always be happy to hear you tell me that regardless. Because I love you too. Always.

Shingo: (Takes a Deep Breath While Walking on the Sidewalk Next to K') Alright. (Pats on Both Sides of his Pants) I got my phone om my left pocket, my wallet on my right, house key.....(Turns to K') How do I look? Plain? Too causal?

K': You look decent to me.

Shingo: You sure? (Points Back) Cause I can go run back to my apartment and-

K': Kid, relax. You look fine and you and I both know your stamina is not good enough to run back and forth in long distance without tiring yourself out down the line.

Shingo: ('Sighs Heavily') I knoooow. I just want to make good enough impression on the colonial. I mean, you said yourself, right? That he's serious most of the time?

K': Yeah, in the battlefield. He seems like a chill guy to talk to whenever he's off duty.

Shingo: ('Sighs in Relief') Chill and calm. Okay.

K': Then again, I did seen him give that one guy the death glare for making eye contact at him for too long.

Heidern: (Sighs While Slowly Shakes his Head) When will that boy ever learn? (Turns to Shingo) I apologize for my subordinate's rudeness and mistreatment towards you.

Shingo: It's okay, sir. He doesn't mean any real harm by it.

Heidern: Are you certain?

Shingo: (Happily Nodded) Mmhmm! I mean, sure, he can be a real pain in the neck sometimes, but he's still one of the coolest people I've ever had the pleasure of being friends with. He even went out of his way to walk with me here just help me calm my nerves.

Heidern: (Simply Nodded With a Small Smile on his Face) I see. That's good to hear. It's nice to see him putting the effort to open up amd make new friends rather than making potential enemies.

Shingo: Right? I always knew he's a big softie deep down, even when he tries hard not to be for some reason.

Heidern: You always tend to see the best in people, don't you Shingo?

Shingo: Mostly? (Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) I mean, i wouldn't say I see best in literally EVERYONE I meet, but I try to give the select few that I know a benefit of doubt as best I can, you know

Heidern: And that's admirable in it of itself. I can see why Saisyu hold you in high regards.

Shingo: (Eyes Begins to Widened) Wait, you know Master Saisyu!?

Heidern: (Simply Nodded Once More) I do, yes. He would Invite me to his house to have tea with him and his wife, every time I visit Japan. As loud and prideful as he is, his company and wise-cracking jokes never fails to brighten up my day, especially the stressful ones.

Shingo: (Chuckles Lightly) Yeah, that's master for ya. Always finding some way to make anyone laugh. I miss him. And everyone else back in Japan really.

Heidern: Do.you wish to visit them one of these days?

Shingo: Definitely! (Crosses his Arms While Brainstorming) Granted, I would need to save up more of my money for plane tickets as well as plan out a perfect schedule for the visit, but I would love to back there and bring everyone I know with me. Rock, K', Kula, Ms. Mary, Terry if isn't too busy doing whatever, and Leona. I-If that's.....perfectly okay with you of course, sir....

Heidern: It's fine with me. I know she's capable of taking care of herself.

Shingo: (Happily Nodded) Exactly! And I'll do everything I can to male sure she has the best time ever.

Heidern: I'm sure you will. I honestly can't think of anywhere else Leona would rather be that to be with the young man who she gradually falls in love with, the one she vows to protect at all cost.

Shingo: She told you guys about? Y-You know, besides us dating or....whatever.....

Heidern: (Chuckles Lightly) How could she not? You're the one person she talks about the most, even when you two started out as friends. You've always managed to put a smile on her face, even more so than we ever could surprisingly enough.

Shingo: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprise) I......really made that much of an impact on her?

Heidern: (Simply Nodded Yet Again) I believe you do. And I sincerely wish the best for the both of you going forward.

Shingo: (Eyes Starts to Lit Up as He Quickly Gets Up From his Seat and Bows Rapidly at Heidern in Graditude) T-Thank you so much for your approval, sir! I am truly grateful!~

Heidern: (Smiles Sheepishly) Easy now, Shingo. There's no need for that. If anything, I should be thanking you for making my little girl the happiest she has ever been.

Shingo: It's no problem at all! (Finally Stops Bowing) And listen, I may not be as special or as strong as you or any of other subordinates in your army, but that won't stop me from doing my damndest to love and be there for your daughter no matter what!

Shingo gets startled before turning around to see his girlfriend, Leona, standing beside him with her hair down wearing a light blue sundress.

Leona: (Smiles Sheepishly and a Tad Bit Brightly) In the flesh~ I apologize for not getting here sooner. Seirah insisted I find something more "formal" for our lunch date today. (Waves her Hair Back While Blushing and Looking Away a Bit) A-And I picked this dress, so......W-What do you think?~

Heidern: (Smiles Softly) It looks great on you, Leona.

Shingo: (Stares at Leona in Awe) Yeah......Amazing even~

Shingo/Leona: (Immediately Stop What They Were Doing and Turns to Heidern With Bright Red Blushes on Each of their Face) WHAAAAT!?

Leona: (Glares at Heidern) Father! We are NOT that careless!!

Heidern: (Smiles Sheepishly, Trying his Hardest Not to Let Out Yet Another Chuckle or Two) I know you're not, dear. Just wanted to make sure you two are responsible till the day you get married is all.

Shingo: (Panting his Hands is on his Knees, Bent Down) Yeah.....A break......Sounds FANTASTIC right about now.....(Let's Out an Exhausted Sigh While Finally Sitting Himself Down) Jeeeeeez......I don't think I ever been in a sparring match that intense before........

Rock: Yeah, same here.....(Gives Shingo Proud Smirk on his Face) You were keeping me on my toes from beginning to end there, bud.

Preecha: (Fixes Up her Glasses Before Forming her Signature Cheeky Grin Once More) I officially became his #1 Pupil ever since.

Shingo: (Eyes Sparkled, Struck in Awe at What He abd Rock Just Saw) No way! Was that a Hurricane Upper you did just now!?

It was a calm afternoon, the sky was dyed in light red and orange and a singly clouds hidden the setting sun. Nevertheless, the sunbeams has touched the rustling in wind tree leaves and other surroundings were dyed with such a mix of warm colors. As leaves were falling down, one of them has flied across the redhead hunter’s way back to the hut. It can’t be helped that he needed to sort out some business in Hunter Guild and getting more knives just in case. Besides, even today that witch may ask him go for another errand, so, maybe she could also craft a suitable weapon for that stupid vampire or at least enhance it with her magical powers.

However, another problem was - what could fit for Kyo? Swords or spears were out of the question, because this vampire doesn’t look trustful enough to be left alone with any of of these. More important, it would take not only too much of patience and time to teach how to use them. Mostly because it wasn’t the type of weapon, which even this hunter would pick in a battle. Knuckles? Nope, this brunette was still in his human form, so, he may not regained fully his physical strength. Besides, after his last encounter, Yagami wouldn’t entrust him a short range weapons.

In any case, visiting a familiar shop was unavoidable. Besides, maybe this time he could take Kyo with him, because it would be also great chance to test what this vampire is capable of. And so, after entering inside the shop, this redhead was greeted by a certain ebony-haired woman behind the counter, who seem to be busy with packing a few bottles filled with wine color liquid into smaller chest. Once she closes the chest and places it on lower shelf behind the counter, she asks Yagami ‘‘You’re back, hunter. That was quick. But it’s unusual for you going straight to the shop. Aren’t you going to check first how Kusanagi is doing?’’.

Iori just turned gaze for a moment and then he answers in serious tone ‘‘For now he can wait. Besides, it’s better to ask this when he is not around.’’ after giving a demanding look, this hunter continues ‘‘Do you need me to kill any monster or get any materials?’’, now he impatiently waits for the answer of this witch. Surely, Kagura didn’t expected this question yet she sighs and replies ‘‘You are being quiet helpful today. However, what have you planned behind this?’’.

Even so, this redhead clenches his hands into fists and cracks a smile, now he asks in irritated tone ‘‘So, you need anything or not?’’. No matter how it was amusing observing this hunter’s reactions, this sorceress nearly in singing voice replies ‘‘Well, since you being so voluntary, I cannot turn down your offer, can I? So, let’s see…’’, now she covers her mouth with her hand and lowers her gaze, after turning around, she quickly scans the shelves. Good minute has passed and when she turns back, she answers ‘‘It seems that I’m running out of one fine thread. Hmm, hunter, could you get me enough of spiderweb for making six rolls of thread?’’.

Yagami only rolls his eyes and back-fires ‘‘Why can’t you use the one from the corners of your shop? I see no difference, which type of spiderweb you should use. So, are you sure, you don’t need anything else?’’. It seems that this ebony-haired woman was not happy by this reply and she decides to counter-attack in calm manner ‘‘You see, you can get this thread only from one of rarer monsters. I’m pretty sure that you at least heard of Arachne creature. If no, then you should know that these spider-’’, this redhead closes his eyes and grits his teeth, after opening them, he interrupts in irritated tone ‘‘S-so, you want to tell that all I need to do is kill this creature and take the web? Fine…If so, then I’m taking that stupid vampire with me!’’.

Although, this witch asks in innocent tone ‘‘Don’t tell me that a hunter like you cannot take down a medium rank monster alone? Maybe it is a bit difficult task for you…’’, it seems Yagami had enough of this woman’s taunting and now he slams his both hands on the counter. As he frowns, he says in serious tone ‘‘Listen, Kagura. It’s not your business! I’m taking Kyo with me, ‘cos I need to see what he can do in real fight. Then I could get him a proper weapon and teach the basics how to use it. Besides, it would good practise for him as well…’’ while he gives a demanding gaze, he deeply breaths for awhile.

Chizuru patiently listens to him further. Apparently, the more he was keep talking, the more he sounded concerned ‘‘But what could suit for an idiot, who keeps non-stopping mentioning that he can only use fangs and nails, more important, he keeps claiming how he could use flames before he lost his powers…’’. Now this ebony-haired woman calms him down ‘‘First, return with the spiderweb, then leave the rest to me.’’, but Chizuru honestly asks ‘‘However, wouldn’t be easier, if you ask what kind of weapon Kusanagi would like to have?’’.

Surely, this redhead just widen his eyes at such a simple question and now as he turns his head away, he lowers his gaze. Of course, this witch only gives him a questioning look while he answers in lower tone ‘‘Because…’’ as he looks back, Yagami continues ‘‘Hell, like that stubborn idiot would refuse say what he wants! So, I’ll better give him after the hunt. Maybe then he would accept it…’’. After such a confession, Kagura was clueless what say next and now after sighing, replied ‘‘Anyway, I think I know what weapon might fit for him. But since you are here, why don’t you rest for awhile before the journey? So, just let me remove the barrier first or you prefer to get electrocuted each time?’.

The sun was hidden behind the forest and soon the first stars began to shine one after another, waiting for the moon to show up. When, the witch and hunter were near the door of the hut, Chizuru removed the magic barrier and told before leaving ‘‘I’ll return later. Today one important client should show up and take rare potions. So, if decide to leave before I’ll return, good luck and take care.’’ and with that she gracefully takes her leave.

Once this hunter enters inside the hut, he found Kyo lying in bed with a navy-blue color book resting on his face. Is this vampire was dozing out? Whatever it was, Iori addresses him while he was getting closer to this brunette ‘‘Enough of doing nothing, you stupid vampire. Get up.’’, surely, it got attention of this nocturnal creature, who now murmurs something as he removed the book from his face. Kyo just looked at this redhead with not so happy look on his face.

Certainly, that pesky hunter has a lot of nerves to disturb this brunette’s rest, and thus, he honestly shown his dissatisfaction as he speaks up ‘‘What do you want? Can’t you see that I’m busy? So, why don’t you, I don’t know, maybe grab for me some snacks. Besides, I hoped that maybe this book, which Kagura gave me, would help me to learn more about you humans.’’. This redhead hunter only closes his eyes and sighs, after opening eyes, he picks the book from a vampire and once he quickly examines it, he patiently explains ‘‘It’s only one of the volumes about the history of great demon outbreak in our world…Why would you expect to learn how we live from it? That woman could have found a better book.’’.

However, when Kyo sits on edge of the bed and stares at Yagami with innocent gaze, he objects ‘‘But there is mentioned about you vampire hunters as well. So, at least maybe that would help to learn about your kind and why are you acting like this…You know, I don’t get it why you hunters still protecting an ordinary people when even nowadays they still fear you and might treat you as our kind? After all, you don’t own them anything, it’s they who should be thankful for being able to rest peacefully!…However, what about you, Yagami? Are you doing this just for living or you have any other reason?’’.

Despite that this vampire gave such a curious and demanding gaze, even Iori’s poker-face was cracked and he replied in slight nervous tone ‘‘What is it with you, you stupid vampire? What’s with these questions? Besides, now we have to go.’’. However, this vampire did not give up and back-fires ‘‘Where? At least, first, I want to know why did you become a vampire hunter. You don’t look that you become a one just to feel a thrill of taking someone’s life away or having anyone struggling under your foot.’’. Not again…that vampire once again was using his alluring gaze and this redhead hunter was captured by it, so, all he could do is to listen further to this nocturnal creature without looking away ‘‘Do you hold a grudge against one of our kind? Are you seeking for a revenge? Or you have no choice, but to carry on the legacy of your clan and with the same weapon, which was passed to each generation, kill us?’.

While Kyo was patiently waits for the answer, Yagami immediately closed his eyes and turns his head away. Whenever it was a trick of the light or not, but even this brunette could swear that the hunter’s cheeks were slightly red. Nevertheless, after face-palming, this redhead fixes his hair and now once again, he facing this vampire. Now he explains to this brunette in serious tone ‘‘Why you have to do this? Stop using your charms against me, because you won’t win, you stupid vampire…Anyway, I don’t have any special reason. So, it was better than becoming an alchemist as father expected, even if mother was against his idea. But then she tried to push her path of living. Hell, I didn’t shown any interest toward pharmacy or medicine either! At least later on being raised and trained by that stupid hunter was better than that or greeting a pathetic fate as my parents did back in that day. So, eventually after long year training, I become a vampire hunter, because at least then no one could decide for me what to do like I was a rag-doll in someone’s hands…But enough of that! Get up! Because you’re going with me.’’.

Of course, after listening to hunter’s tale, this vampire become even more curious, because he felt that there was something more to it yet Yagami remains quiet about. However, this brunette smirks and second later he gives a smug look as he stands up.
