an: thank you so much for your request! I've never wrote anything for Shino before, so this was a bit challenging, but also very interesting. Hope you enjoy!

Shino is a very calm and collected individual, but that does not mean he never gets jealous. He does, quite often in fact, but it is not always easy to pick up on it.

The things is Shino is somewhat insecure in his relationship. He is aware that he is a bit different from the other people in Konoha and he can't help but sometimes question the way you view him.

Because I imagine him with a s/o who is very cheerful and outgoing, he will easily become jealous when his s/o is in the company of someone like Kiba or Naruto. He would never say it, but he dislikes how easy it is for you to get along, given that it took you years to break Shino's tough exterior.

He may appear confident, but deep inside he is afraid that his s/o may find someone better than him. Someone who is just as outgoing and extroverted as them.

I don't really think he realizes it, but it is very obvious when he is jealous.

If you are in the company of others, his usual silent nature will completely transform and he will provide a snarky or sarcastic comment to almost everything that is said. I don't think that people that know him well, such as his teammates, would take offence to it, but to strangers, he will appear a bit rude.

While not a big fan of PDA, I imagine he would find subtle ways to show that his s/o is his by sitting extra close to them, brushing their hand with his, and maybe even lacing their pinkies together (if he feels someone doesn't get the hints!)

If he is only in the company of his s/o, he is totally the one to give a silent treatment.

He could never be mad at his s/o for long, however. As long as they give him a bit of reassurance and spoil him with attention, he will become very soft, completely forgetting why was he mad in the first place.

He will totally hold grudges towards other people tho, especially Kiba and Naruto (who may or may have not flirted with his s/o as a joke in front of him).

No matter how much he trusts you, however, I don't believe he will ever voice his insecurities out loud. With time his s/o picks up on them and they will know when to reassure them or stop joking around.

Overall, he can become a bit childish when he is jealous, but he is never the one to be very obvious about it.

Shino x Reader x Neji Love Triangle Relationship Headcanons

𓆃 The most passive-aggressive love triangle ever, but surprisingly one of few that Neji might have the upper hand in terms of initiative.

𓆃 Both Neji and Shino are also very easily scorned and quick to conclusions when it comes to anything resembling emotional, so it's a ripe situation for misunderstandings galore!

𓆃 The two, of course, know that they're competing per se for your attention. Shino will be a bit more keen on this than Neji, but not by a significant amount.

𓆃 They're usually both men who have a similar style of intimacy. It usually takes a while for them to warm up to someone, and they prefer small, intimate interactions to build bonds.

𓆃 But they're so self-conscious/ hyper conscious of each other that they seriously just mess it up for themselves!

𓆃 Being the type to hold onto things for an extended period of time, Shino often reads into words that you say, as well as your interactions with Neji.

𓆃 While Shino doesn't like to make a habit of easedropping, curiosity will sometimes get the better of him and he will put himself in situations where he riles himself up about your relationship with Neji.

𓆃 Neji sees things a bit better, but he doesn't have his emotions regulated as well as Shino.

𓆃 And then, of course, they're passive-aggressive to each other and a lot more distractible than they intend, all because they've decided to take the long-route, Emotions Version ™.

𓆃 A lot of this could have been avoided if either of them just had the nerve to ask you out in the beginning. Or express themselves in a way, but no, they're just playing mind games with themselves and you just happen to be caught up in it.

𓆃 You just have to wait it out. The two of them will get comfortable with you at some point. Then maybe you can escape this loop of hell.

He’s not a lightweight but he’s also not a heavy smoker.

He’s for sure a bong person. He’ll smoke out of anything but if he gets to choose he’s going for a bong.

Prefers a sativa. In his opinion indica makes him feel too sleepy.

Once took such a big hit he threw up. He would do it again, no hesitation.

Shikamaru

Probably knows too much about it.

Nobody in the konoha 12 can out smoke shikamaru. None.

Doesn’t fall victim to the munchies much.

He does dose off to sleep, however.

Grows some of the best weed in the Nara family forest. Yoshino has no clue. Shikaku picks buds off secretly and acts like he knows nothing.

Prefers smoking from a metal pipe. It takes little effort to prepare and it’s practical.

Was the first of the konoha 12 to start smoking.

Prefers Indica. Indica guarantees the best naps.😴

Choji

Always has snacks!! Chips? Yup! Chocolate? Yes sir! Fruit snacks? You got it!🍫

Let’s Naruto borrow money for the munchies.

He obviously loves edibles. But he’ll smoke out of whatever. He doesn’t have any strong preferences.

He prefers edibles or dabs as opposed to flower.

Temporarily cures his depression. (Be real y’all, we know he’s depressed)

His go to strain is sativa. It helps him be comfortable enough to share his thoughts so openly 💭

Karui

One of the few that can hang with Shikamaru and Choji in terms of smoking.

Once inhaled a roach. That was when Choji knew he was in LOVE.❤️‍🔥

Blunts are her favorite but she also likes a metal pipe much like Shikamaru.

She’s a fan of Indica. There are too many reasons to count as to why it’s her preferred.

Rarely coughs….. somehow.

Temari

Prefers hookah or bongs.

Helps with her anxiety. (You can’t tell me being responsible for 2/3 of the sand siblings isn’t anxiety inducing)

Shikamaru introduced her to smoking. Unsurprisingly.

She gets cotton mouth really bad much like Karui. Always has a bottle of water. 🚰

She also gets the munchies a lot. Prefers hot Cheetos.🔥

If their pup was having a tantrum about not getting a toy, or something similar

Bargaining:

Naruto - He hates when his children cry, so he simply can't help but bribe them with things to stop.

"Hey. hey, hey, what if instead of the toy, tonight we can play some video games together, how does that sound, huh?"

Yamato - He basically begs them to stop crying, and when that doesn't work, he offers something that he can give them instead.

"How about I give you a piggy back ride while we shop, do you want that?"

Deferring/giving in:

Sasuke - Panic, panic, panic. If you're there, he defers to you. If you're not, he gives in immediately so that the tears stop.

Shikamaru - Crying gives him a headache, and he doesn't like having to deal with it when the reason is so bratty. Giving in is the fastest way to get it to stop.

"I will give you 500 ryo to spend on toys if you stop crying now."

Taking them aside and talking them down:

Chouji - He assumes that they're over-stimulated, so he takes them somewhere quiet and let's them cry it out in a hug. Once they're calm, he explains why they can't have the toy, before bringing the pup back into the shop.

"Shh, there's no need for this, calm down."

Gaara - He's a big 'take the pup for a walk' kind of parent. If they have a tantrum, Gaara will take his child by the hand, and walk outside with them. Once they've calmed down, he discusses why they got upset.

"You're okay, I promise."

Removing them from the situation and going home:

Shino - He doesn't not like public tantrums. At. All. If his child starts having a tantrum in public, he is picking them up and bringing them straight home. He can get a bit frustrated if they don't calm down, but once he's at home, he can deal with it better. He probably puts a TV show on for them and sits with them as they calm down.

"We are going home. Why? Because clearly you cannot control yourself today."

Itachi - He takes his pups home too. They're upset, and when pups are upset, they should go home where they feel safe. He carries them home, and puts them in his nest. Once there, he gets them a snack, and they have a cuddle. Itachi will reprimand if it was super bratty, but mainly he comforts.

"We're at home now, it's okay. I think we need a quiet day inside, yes?"

Ignoring them:

Kiba - Kids cry for many reasons, some good, some bad, and Kiba is an expert at knowing which is which. If it's a stupid tantrum, he'll literally ignore them and keep shopping. He probably has loads of other kids with him too, like he can't just leave. So he lets them wail behind him until they've calmed down.

"Wow, this is a nice shop, I'm having a nice time, everything is good."

Haku - Haku also ignores the tantrum, but he spends the whole time talking to his pup as if nothing is wrong. Once they start calming down and answering him, he offers a hug, and then pretends that nothing happened.

"It's such a lovely day today, which kind of weather is your favourite?"

Discipline:

Neji - Neji is going to put the pup on the naughty step. If there's a space to do it in public, then he will. But if not, he'll probably go home to punish them. After one minute per year of age on the naughty step, Neji asks for an apology, and then gives them a hug. He probably does something quiet and lowkey with his child for the rest of the day.

"Why did you get put on the naughty step? I want you to apologise to me."

Iruka - There is also a punishment from him if the tantrum is very bratty. He takes them for a time out/cool down period. If he's in public, he makes the pup just stand against the wall for a few minutes. If they're at home, he has them sit in a room alone until they calm down. After that, he gives them lots of cuddles and tickles until they're smiling again. He might shout if he's already stressed, but he tries not to.

"I told you no, that means no. Stand here and think about what you did."

This man is your #1 fan. Everything you do he is behind you cheering and hollering the whole way. It doesn't matter if it's something stupid like trying to do a bottle flip, Naruto is gonna hype you up. He just adores you so much and wants you to know that! It's gotten to the point that you have a whole room filled with them (Sai keeps telling you it's okay to get rid of some, but you refuse! They are so pretty!). On special occassions, Sai loves to bring his drawings for you to life, enjoying the look of amazement on your face

Ino Yamanaka - Gift Giving

This girl is gonna treat you RIGHT, believe that! She's is incredibly open with her feelings, especially when it comes to flowers. You will be getting flowers for every occassion, sometimes just randomly. She'll buy you other gifts like jewelry and clothes and books, but her real love language is flowers. Her bouquets aren't just randomly put together either, Ino carefully hand picks each one and take in mind the meaning of each one. The longer you date you will soon learn the different meanings, which makes her so proud. Although she doesn't really expect anything back every time, make sure to get her a lil something for special occassions, she'll appreciate it~

Shikamaru Nara - Quality Time

We know Shikamaru is a lazy bitch, but that's what we love about him! He may seem distant and seemingly uncaring, but if you look closely you can clearly see how he shows affection. Sure he may not wash you with praises or get you expensive things, but he stays by your side. Always. Somehow he always is in the same room as you, even if you are doing two different things. You're always together in some sort. He'll definitely deny it, but you notice he doesn't leave still. It's kind of like a cat, ya know? Shikamaru gets especially clingy when you're in bed together. This man doesn't get up for hours, and you aren't getting up either. You will lay and sleep with him for 3 more hours, no discussion

Choji Akimichi - Acts of Service

Just... just so sweet. My boy is such a sweetie oh my god. Choji is quite nervous in your relationship, both due to low self-esteem and just anxiety in general. Just you surprising him with a hug is enough to fluster him for a solid minute. Since more direct ways get him anxious, Choji prefers to do things for you, and his favorite thing is to cook for you. This man can COOK like no one's business! You guys will go out to eat on the weekends (there is nothing like fresh barbecue), but through the week he is in the kitchen cooking your favorite meals full of love. Seeing your giant smile and hearing your satisifed eating makes his heart soar. Also, you are one of the only people who he'll always share his snacks with, no hesitation (the other is Shikamaru, obviously)

Kiba Inuzuka - Physical Touch

Kiba is a toucher, hands down. He LOVES to just touch you all over. He is always in contact with you no matter what, appropriate or otherwise. Hands on your waist, head on your shoulder, fingers in your hair, sometimes he will just randomly pick you up to get a reaction out of you. Let's be real, Kiba's a dog through and through, and dogs adore attention. Whenever he wants your attention or love, Kiba will poke you and bug you until you give in and cuddle with him. Spooning is his absolute favorite position. Give this man his head pats and belly rubs god dammit, and don't forget Akamaru!. Oh and uh, warning, this man is also perverted. Quite perverted. Your cuddle sessions will devolve into him dry humping you 50% of the time. You gonna get manhandled and groped quite a bit (every touch full of love <3)

Hinata Hyuga - Words of Affirmation

You thought Choji was shy? You haven't seen nothing yet. Hinata was already a sweating mess when you were just friends, the moment you asked her out she literally fainted and collapsed on the floor. Thankfully she is better now (and didn't get brain damage), but it's still nerve-wracking to be in a relationship with you. You're just so... perfect. And Hinata wants you to know that. He always is ready to defend you in public, and whenever you go somewhere alone he gives you one of his bugs so he can know you're safe. Anyone who even tries to harass or injure you is getting shot down immedietely. Losing you or you getting hurt is one of his biggest fears, and he'll never let that happen. You'll never feel unsafe when Shino is around

Rock Lee - All of Them

You can call this a cop out, but let's be real, Lee is the embodiment of EVERY love language. He never stops gushing to you about your beauty and skills, and screams how much he loves you from the rooftops. Anything you ask him to do will be done in record time perfectly. He loves to give you extravagent gifts for your anniversaries and random occasions. Spending time with you is his favorite thing in the world, especially when you train together. And physical touch? He is always happy to hug and kiss you all over. Lee is just full of love for you!! He knows he can be a bit overwhelming at times and will calm down if you tell him. He just is so grateful to have you in his life, and wants you to know that every day for the rest of your life

Neji Hyuga - Words of Affirmation

It may come as a shock to most due to his sharp tongue, but the way Neji shows his love is by words. To most he is aggressive and stand-offish, and ocassionally is to you too. It's just how he is unfortunately. But unlike with others, he is noticabely incredibly soft with you and is much more open. Neji isn't afraid to compliment how you look or give praise when you succeed at something. Even when he gets annoyed he doesn't raise his voice or throw insults at you, he stays respectful. Tenten - Quality Time

Tenten is pretty easy going and prefers a partner who is the same. Of course some spice and excitement is greatly welcomed, but at the end of the day she just wants to sit back and relax with her partner. So spending time together means a lot to her. She loves going on dates where you guys try something new (just no long hikes, please) but if needed will default to the local weapon museum. By the way, everytime one of you has to go on a mission, Tenten will act cool but will secretly pout the whole time until you meet up again

Gaara - Physical Touch

As he's grown, Gaara has turned into a real sweetheart. With you he is incredibly gentle and cares for you deeply. You are his treasure, you deserve the world. He still is dealing with social anxiety, and can be a bit awkward sometimes. But Gaara is always comfortable touching and holding you. His touches are gentle and kind, and sensual when he wants. He likes to give gentle kisses all over you throughout the day, and whenever he leaves for work he gives you a loving kiss before he leaves. Gaara also really values cuddling together. Kankuro - Quality Time

This man is a teeeeeease (in a good way or bad way, your decision). He is constantly joking and making fun of you, reveling in your cute annoyance. He even likes to annoy you physically like blowing on your neck or pinching your butt. Kankuro is quite playful pretty much 95% of the time, but the other 5% he's actually quite sweet. Spending time with you is his favorite thing in the world! Yeah it's fun messing with you, but he likes to just have genuine connections and going on more mature dates. His favorite thing is dancing surprisingly, and he honestly is quite good. Holding you close and swaying makes him content ... Until he sneaks in one of his puppets halfway through, scaring the shit out of you in the process (he slept on the couch but it was worth it)

author's note: exams are finally over and I am back! This one is kind of short and cute, but I really hope you like it! <3 Thank you so much for requesting!

Life as a shinobi was exciting - you travelled across the nations, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures, while constantly learning new skills and techniques. It is fuelled by adrenaline, which makes you addicted to the risks from the first moment your kunai clashes with that of an enemy.

Now, as you tried to reach the book placed in the further corner of your bedside table, life felt like anything BUT exciting. Laying wrapped in bandages across your stomach and ribs, every movement felt like a new stab wound to your body. There were already a few existing on your body, a "gift" from a rogue ninja, who managed to ambush you and Genma on your way back from Suna. Thankfully, you managed to defeat him and his team, but not without making a few mistakes which left you in such a weak state, that your fellow shinobi had to carry you back.

Wounds and pain were part of the job, so despite the unwanted encounter, you considered the mission a success - the scrolls were delivered safe to the Kazekage and the preparations for the new Chunin Exams have already began.

Shino, however, did not share the same opinion.

Your partner of two years was usually a man of silence - he rarely talked, voicing his thoughts only when he considered it absolutely necessary. His behaviour remained unchanged at home - he preferred letting you talk, only offering comments on what you were saying when you either asked or he felt like he could contribute a different point of view. Never have you heard him yell or scold you... till you came home from your latest mission.

"What did I tell you about moving too much?", his tone, usually calm and monotone, was now carrying a note of worry. He hurried towards you, gently pushing you by the shoulders back on the bed, before passing you the book that you have been eyeing for the past five minutes.

A loud huff made its way out of your lips and you crossed your arms, before giving him an annoyed look.

"Shino, for a fifth time today, I am fine", the words that were meant to be comforting, came out as a groan. You tried to sit up again, but his reactions were quicker, and before you could do so, he pressed your torso down to the bed.

"Shinooo!"

"Sakura explicitly said you shouldn't move or get up from this bed for three weeks", his words were stern and you couldn't help but let a small blush cover your cheeks at how serious and dominant he was at this moment, a complete opposite of your silent and soft boyfriend.

He must have noticed the blush on your cheek, as his fingers made their way to your face, as he gently caressed it.

"Stop pouting!", he said, as he laid a small kiss at the corner of your lips, "Only one more week."

You groaned at his words, moving your head, so you faced the window. Every day you could hear the laughs of the children playing on the street and the sweet songs of the birds, that made their home in the tree right in front of your house. From time to time you could ever hear the muted voices of the merchants, who were eagerly trying to sell their "exotic new items" to the passing villagers.

Life outside kept going, while you stayed confined in your room. And it was not fair.

"Sakura doesn't know what she is talking about!", you finally said, adjusting your position and biting back a wince at the sudden pain that you felt in the side of your ribs. Tightening your jaw, you took a deep breath, before lilting yourself into a half-seated position.

This time Shino didn't stop you.

"I'm sure after years of practicing as a medical ninja, her knowledge is better than ours."

With a sigh, he laid the cup of hot tea, that he brought you earlier, and he gently grabbed your chin and turned it toward him. There was an unusual uncertainty in his gaze, almost as if he was unsure if he should say the next words.

"Hey...", he tried to grab your attention, but you stubbornly kept your eyes focused on the blooming branches outside, "Don't be like that! It is for your own good."

Fighting the urge to lean your head more toward the warmth of his hand, you clicked your tongue, finally meeting his eyes. Your lips were still pursed in a pout and a slight crease had formed between your brows.

"But Shino I have been laying on this bed for two weeks. TWO WEEKS!", your arms flew in the air, emphasizing the period of time, "And I know I should rest and all that... But I need to move a little bit too! You don't even let me go to the restroom by myself!"

Shino withdrew his hand away and you immediately regretted the way you worded your thoughts. A flash of hurt and confusion passed through his face, before his expression went blank.

"I am just trying to help..."

Closing your eyes, you nodded your head. You knew he meant well and you were more than grateful for all the care he had given you during the past few weeks. He cleaned, cooked, and did all the shopping for you, leaving you with nothing to do but relax and re-read all the books you had on your bookshelf over and over again.

The first week was fine - most of the time you either slept or dived into the fantasy worlds created by your favourite authors. However, as the second week approached, you started to feel your back and limbs aching from the lack of movement. Every time you tried to get up or even stretch, however, Shino magically appeared by the door, scolding you for not following Sakura's instructions.

"I know, I know! I just...", you let out a sigh, before grabbing his hand in yours and gently squeezing it, "I feel like my pain is getting worse the more I remain unmoving in this room! I need a bit of movement, a bit of fresh air-"

"I can open the window for you."

"That's not what I mean!", you rolled your eyes, before giving him a knowing look, "I know you only want the best for me, but I feel like I am going insane! And while I love being pampered, I want to have the freedom to do some stuff by myself, without you monitoring my every movement!"

Shino remained silent, his mind absorbing what you have said to him. He loved you more than any person in his life and while he only wanted to be of help, he could see how his overbearing care was suffocating you. You have always been quite independent and he has always respected that need of freedom, so your current situation was presenting big challenges for both of you.

"I'm sorry", he finally said, while his hand gave you a reassuring squeeze, a sign he actually meant it. You gave a small smile in return, bringing his fingers to your lips, before giving them a small kiss. Your lips automatically stretched into a grin once you saw him blush at your gesture.

"Don't be! I am thankful for all you do for me. I really am!"

He leaned towards you and pressed his mouth to your forehead, leaving it there for a few seconds before pulling away. He smiled at you, gently brushing some of the sticky hair on your cheeks with his thumb.

"You really need to take a shower."

"What, no offer to help?"

Shino laughed at your words, the melodic sound making your insides warm, before he stood up from the side of your bed and start walking toward the door.

"As tempting as it sounds...", he was already outside and was just about to close the door, when he poked his head once more, a playful spark dancing in his eyes, "I believe you can handle this one yourself."

Shino Platonic Sibling Relationship Headcanons

𓆃 There's almost a weird distance and an unspoken closeness. In a way, Shino is almost like an upperclassman. If he's younger than you, he can almost feel like your own child.

𓆃 The Aburame are very quiet. With everyone. It's part of the clan's nature. That being said, you won't have a rambunctious relationship where you pull pranks on each other or wrestle.

𓆃 Much of your relationship will be at an arm's length which is normal for this family. Not to say that you don't care about each other, but communication is done very practically.

𓆃 It's about active listening. Most of your talking is very matter of fact and straight to the point.

𓆃 Part of this may have to do with the fact that your bugs can give you a decent sense of things that are already happening. You usually pick up news at the same time, so talking about current events in usually null given you've been in the same vicinity for a bit.

𓆃 The older generation typically trains the younger generation, but Aburame children tend to master their insect jutsu (at least control of it) at a young age. They need to to function.

𓆃 And depending on the territorial nature of your given insect species, it's typically a rule of thumb that hives shouldn't interact with each other for long periods of time.

𓆃 Shino may pass along something he's learned or you may pass something along to him, but joint training sessions aren't something that Aburame typically do because it stresses the insects.

𓆃 A younger Shino likely never needed much help when he was younger as he was always very autonomous (as is instilled in most Aburame children).

𓆃 You'll have late night talks sometimes. Always in the kitchen.

𓆃 Whether it's across from the dinner table or across the room while doing separate things, your occasional late-night discussions make up for some of the physical and emotional closeness during the day.

𓆃 You'll get into some deep discussions over tea, and Shino likes bouncing around ethical theoreticals (he doesn't like bringing them up though).

𓆃 If Shino is older, he may take you to joint trainings or out with him and his friends, but he doesn't do this often because Shino himself doesn't do these things often.

𓆃 While Shino is open to giving you guidance when needed, he believes in the values of autonomy that have been instilled in his clan. He won't hand-hold you often or supplement your training or social life, but he'll take you out when you're young.

𓆃 He will always wait until you ask him. And you need to be direct because he's not about to give you any unsolicited advice.

𓆃 These days out will become less frequent as you grow older unless you're really upset.

𓆃 "C'mon," Shino will say, throwing you your jacket whether you're ready to catch it or not. "Let's take a walk." The walk always ends in ice cream or some other sweet treat.

𓆃 Younger sibling Shino will not tell you the important dates. He's a quiet kid and doesn't talk much. Every so often, you'll miss an important event like a graduation or other shinobi event because Shino just won't tell you about them for really no reason at all.

𓆃 You and Shino will also have one (1) annual fight that will last about a week. You never remember what they're about looking back, but at least once a year you'll have a passive-aggressive fight where you fling cheap shots at each other.

𓆃 It might not be a cuddly relationship or necessarily an exciting one, but whether he's an older brother or a little brother, Shino's always got your back.
