hi o/ the blaseball zine jam is over! i did several pieces for different zines over the course of the jam. here's the zines i contributed to:

make it blaseball (blaseball aus of other things) - i did a blaseball crossover with the magnus archives. i noticed like 4 grammatical errors and typos after submitting this but it's fine. that's what i get for working on it in the wee hours of the morning and not proofreading

the big blaseball activity book - i did a discipline era crossword :3 however i completely forgot to save the answer key. sorry

how to say goodbye - goodbye, sim!

MUSHROOM GNOCCHI A CUSTOM GOURMET RECIPE

Mushroom Gnocchi is a simple enough dish, but extremely tasty. Here it's gourmet because your sim is making the gnocchi from scratch rather than using store bought ones. They're served with a creamy mushroom sauce.

It has all three sizes (8 servings, 4 servings and single serving)

In the kitchen with Chef Powell

Chef James Powell grew up in a family of globetrotters and has been exposed to all sorts of food from around the world from a young age. After graduating from Windenberg Culinary School, he worked three years under Chef Dave Chang before founding his own restaurant in Magnolia Promenade, Little Tartosa. He also works with SimTalk monthly as cuisine consultant.

Butternut gnocchi

For 4 sims - Prep: 40 mins - Cook: 1h30 2 butternut squash, halved, deseeded and cut into wedges • 2 garlic cloves • sprig of thyme • 2 tbsp olive oil • freshly grated nutmeg • up to 3-4 tbsp plain flour • 105g parmesan, grated • 100g butter • handful sage leaves • 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped

Heat oven to 220C/fan 200C/gas 7. Tip the squash into a roasting tray. Toss with the garlic, thyme and olive oil, then season. Cover the dish with foil and roast for 40 mins until soft. Leave to cool slightly. When the squash is cool enough to handle, remove the flesh and use a spatula to force it through a fine sieve. Tip into a clean pan, then gently cook for 30-40 mins until reduced to a dense mass that comes away from the sides of the pan. Leave to cool. You will have around 175g once cooked down. Tip purée into a bowl, then season with the nutmeg, salt and pepper. Mix in the egg, flour and 65g of the parmesan. You should have a soft pliable dough so, if it’s too wet, add more flour until it’s the right consistency. Take a third of the dough and, on a floured surface, roll into a long strip about the thickness of your thumb. Cut the strip into little pillows about 3cm long, then press each one gently with the back of a fork. repeat with the remaining dough. Bring a large pan of water to the boil, then drop in the gnocchi in batches. Cook until they float, then give them a minute more before scooping out and putting them in a bowl of iced water. When they’re all cooked, drain well. To serve, heat a grill to high. Melt the butter in a large pan until sizzling, then throw in the chilli and sage – sizzle for a minute before throwing in the gnocchi and tossing through. Tip into a heatproof dish, scatter with parmesan, flash under the grill until browned, then serve immediately.

Winter cake - Spiced walnut cake

For 12 sims - Prep: 30 mins - Cook: 45mins 4 eggs • 150g golden caster sugar • 100ml light olive oil • 1 tbsp honey • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 150g self-raising flour • ½ tsp baking powder • 1 tsp ground cinnamon • 6 green cardamom pods, seeds removed and crushed • 200g walnut flour (blitz walnuts in a food processor to a coarse flour – be aware that blitzing it too fine will turn it into paste) • 100g chopped walnuts • 40g walnut halves • 50g golden caster sugar • 20g pomegranate molasses • 60g icing sugar • 400g tub full-fat cream cheese • 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses • 50g pomegranate seeds

Line two 20cm springform cake tins with baking parchment. Whisk the eggs with the sugar in a bowl for 5 mins or so until thick and aereated. Slowly pour in the olive oil, whisking continuously, then pour in the honey and vanilla, and whisk again to combine. Heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Combine the flour, baking powder, spices and a pinch of salt in another bowl and mix. Lightly sieve this into the wet mixture, fold in, then add the walnut flour, little by little, until combined. Fold through the chopped walnuts and divide between the tins. Bake for 25-30 mins until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. Remove and leave to cool in the tins. To make the candied walnuts, tip the walnuts onto a baking tray and roast in the oven at 200C/180C fan/gas 6 for 4-5 mins until crisp. Meanwhile, combine the sugar, molasses and 20ml water in a saucepan, and set over a medium heat until the mixture turns a deep caramel colour (around 3-4 mins). Turn the heat down low, then add the nuts, stirring constantly until completely coated. Remove from the heat and tip out onto a layer of baking parchment to cool. To make the frosting, beat together the icing sugar and cream cheese until well combined and smooth (the icing will get thinner before it thickens, so continue to whisk for 2 mins), then briefly stir through the molasses to create a ripple effect. Spread half of the frosting on top of one of the cake layers, then sandwich with the other. Top with more icing, the pomegranate seeds and candied walnuts. Serve cut into slices.

Hello! My name is...

roux :)

im 18, any pronouns are fine (they/them are used most often), what you'll mainly see from me are sims 4 cc reblogs and maybe some mlp oc's, random work doodles, and some of the sims I make (maybe some builds/interior once I get better). I've been playing the sims for awhile but recently discovered cc earlier this year. Main things I'd probably post about if I do at all will be sims 4, sims 4 cc, My little Pony, Dnd oc's, and Monster High. If I ever decide to learn how to use blender I'll probably do a cc request thing. I'd need to learn about meshes and sliders and all of that other stuff first though so please be patient if I do decide to do any of that. (I also run on a laptop so 💀)

1. What’s something that you’d drop everything to do? Help a friend. It’s hard to resist a Steinway piano, too. Y’all piano players know what I’m talking about.

2. If you could pick anyone, who would you spend a sleepover with? Probably a fictional character or a historical figure. Lol Steve McGarrett? Naked Sleepover? 😂

3. What’s your favorite mobile game? Chess with Friends and a sort of Tetris game with blocks.

4. Do you have a crush right now? What are they like? I’m with my fiancé and I love him more every day than I thought I could ever love someone. I think I might have a crush on my book characters 😂

5. How do you define your own aesthetic? In business? Mean and unapproachable, because I’m terribly shy. I don’t like being approached. In my off time? Paint covered shorts and rainbow neon tie-dye. If I’m in my house, I don’t give a fuck.

6. What style do you wish you could pull off? The baggy French linen clothing that looks gorgeous on waifish people. Same with white cotton sundresses. I am the opposite of waifish and in a sundress, I just look uncomfortable and sweaty 😂

28. Do you play video games? What’s your favorite? The sims. Omfg THE SIMS. (Sims 4) Especially for the home building and home décor. I download the pottery barn mods and go to fucking town.

29. Do people consider you funny? I hope so. I love laughing with my friends.

30. What features are you attracted to? Guys: Big and Tall and dark hair. Who fucking knows though. Scott Caan is none of those things and he’s fine as hell. Ladies: I prefer tall blondes. For romantic partners, intelligence and sense of humor are far more important. Appearance isn’t worth much when times get tough!

31. Do you prefer more muted colors or bright pastels? I wear dark colors and neutrals. I do love bright colors though.

32. Fairy lights or neon signs? I am actually a huge fan of neon signs. I have always wanted one for my house… Like one of those psychic reading signs with the crystal ball? Totally want one. They’re like a couple hundred bucks though.

33. Do you think your appearance matches your mind? I don’t think so. I have resting Bitch face. Lol. The struggle is real!

34. What skill are you most proud of for having? I can write okay lol

35. Do you have a sweet tooth? Unfortunately yes 😫 Gah. Cinnamon rolls are the ultimate treat.

36. Who inspires you? The authors that never quit. Stephen King for how damn fast he writes…

37. Are you more left brained or right brained? Both. I was an art major, but I am only one semester of science classes away from a bachelors degree in Chemistry. If I go into patent law, I will have to take those classes online from somewhere.

38. What’s your favorite word? According to one of my proof readers, it’s “huffing a sigh.” Lol. I had to switch up that phrase because it really did occur everywhere.

39. What’s your favorite card game? Not a big fan of games. Wish I was! I like chess.

5.) “Why did you join Join simblr?”

I had stumbled upon it funny enough, I had no idea about custom content or the story telling aspect of sims until I stumbled onto @raianara‘s blog (first simblr I found) and seeing her stories and builds blew me away, just knowing the silly little stories in my mind in my vanilla game could actually be brought to life in the sims just opened up a new world to me, and I just had to join simblr and bring all of it to life!

37.) “How did your blog/sims change over time?”

Hmm, this is a tough one haha, well I think my sims and blog change as I change throughout my personal life, I’ve gone from just gameplay to full on story touching subjects that I had not researched or any experience in which proved difficult. Though, Skyler is the one sim I have a very close connection to because a lot of her story reflects on my own life (Except for her battling the mother in Strangerville, I haven’t done anything that cool in my life), I think I like to portray the change in my life with her. My blog has changed in a way where I am happy to post be it a silly gameplay post or story post, and not worry what others will think. I came to a place where I am happy with what I post, and that took a while!

20.) “Favorite Sims game?”

Ohhh another tough one! Well, it’s hard to choose one really... I like aspects from all the games, I would have to say that it’s a tie between Sims 2 and Sims 4. I have aspects of Sims 2, Sims 3 and Sims 4 that I adore, If I could take all those aspects and turn it into the sims 5 then I so would haha, that would be my favorite. But if I had to choose it would be Sims 4.

TOMATO GNOCCHI A CUSTOM HOMESTYLE RECIPE

Gnocchi are a kind of Italian dumpling made with some combination of potato or semolina, usually with egg and wheat flour, though they can be made with other ingredients too such as spinach or cheese. Here they're served in a think tomato sauce, with chopped grilled cherry tomatoes and a little basil on top for garnish.

Day 3

Today I didn’t eat anything this morning because I slept in until 11. I didn’t realize I was that tired because my dog sat on top of me and licked me, but I was too tired to even bother with it. I was consumed with sleep. Every morning, I’m always greeted with cuddles and licks from my dog, so it always makes my mornings pleasant. She’s always excited to see me in the morning even though she sleeps on the same bed with me. I’m pretty sure she thinks I’m dead or something she acts like she hasn’t seen me for months but because of this I rarely wake up on the wrong side of the bed and I’m always consumed with joy.

I made tamagoyaki (a type of Japanese omelet with chopped carrots, onions, and scallions) for brunch and drank coke. I didn’t have to buy anything for that since everything was in the fridge. I watched YouTube for a while. I was watching a Sims 4 build just because it looked very interesting and complex from the thumbnail. The built was on a medieval fantasy village. By the way, I love playing the Sims 4, but haven’t had the chance to play it recently. I played with my dog outside for a while and then consumed myself in assignments after. I’m happy to say that I’m finished with most of my homework for this week I just have a few readings to do for this class but that can wait until tomorrow or something.

In the evening, I became hungry and my sister wanted pasta from Olive Garden, so I told her to buy me some as well and so I sent her $15.29 as repayment. I got the cheese ravioli dish with chicken & gnocchi soup. I especially like their chicken and gnocchi soup, so I always get that whenever I eat at Olive Garden. I didn’t get any beverages with it since I had water at home, which saved me the extra bucks.

1.) Favorite Curse Word? Probably the f word to be honest, I have a potty mouth 2.) Coke or Pepsi? not a huge soda fan, tea all the way 3.) What superpower would you like to have? transporting? is that a thing? 4.) Ultimate Pet peeve? slow drivers in the left lane, move over! 5.) Without EPs, and DLCs, Sims 3 or Sims 4? Probably Sims 4, I don’t remember Sims 3 now D: 6.) When was the last time you screamed at the top of your lungs? (Singing included). Does yelling at the top of your lungs to get the attention of 90 5th graders count? Because if so, like 2 weeks ago. 7.) What is something you’ve done that you wish you could undo? Somedays I wish I could undo getting a job 40 mins away, but I like my school and students so it’s okay! 8.) If you had to change your name, what would your new name be? Something with the letter K maybe? Not sure? 9.) Last lie you told? I told the kindies that there was a secret piece of trash on the floor, winner gets a sticker, I told them I had it picked out and I was waiting to see who picked it up first. I actually don’t pick it out until they are pretty much cleaned up :P 10.) Strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? Ryan and I got to do this crazy 7 course dinner by the executive chefs on our honeymoon for some promotion. There was like bone marrow, roasted grasshoppers, and beef tongue. It was weird and amazing! And you also will eat about anything after trying 7 different wines haha
