Thank you so much for the ask, Mima! <3 Kinda in the mood to gush about a less main character today so have some random stuff about Paa! -Kissai's half-sister, she was the product of their father re-marrying after Kissai's mother died in the war. He fell for & married a Dathomirian Zabrak. Unfortunately (I hc that the reason we don't "see" hybrids in game, for a less stupid reason than "the devs couldn't be bothered so they made it not possible" /lh, is not necessarily because they don't exist but rather because (particularly when the mother is the non-Pureblood of the couple) they're prone to a LOT of complications during pregnancy and/or birth) her birth killed her mom so she was raised by her dad and older half-brother. -She ended up with a few (relatively minor) complications as a pre-teen/early teen which led to her father and Kissai seeking out Vastas (D'leah's father & the current Emperor at the time) on Korriban and asking if the Empress consort might be able to help her. Tangentially this is how Kissai ends up becoming D'leah's Wai Tarar bodyguard, as a sort of "paying the royals back for saving my sister's life and also I Have A Big Crush On The Heiress And Maybe Then She'll Notice Me" XD -Paa gets better pretty quickly with Saa'thri's more experienced healing techniques and the Empress consort ends up forming something of a (mentor/apprentice, to be clear for the weirdos I know are lurking around here smh) soft spot for Paa so she ends up apprenticed to her. And therefore ends up hanging around D'leah a lot and becoming friends with her.

-Poor Paa then ends up being the person stuck in the middle of all the UST between D'leah and her brother and she was The Most Exasperated about it even if she'd outright deny helping Vowrawn play cupid if asked. 😂

-She looks like a Pureblood outwardly but does have some cool Zabrak anatomy. She has the two hearts for example (as she likes to call it, "doesn't matter if I get stabbed in the heart, I have a spare" XD), and her browstalks and jaw spurs are very much "static", they can't flex or move/rattle like a regular Pureblood's can because her Sith jaw spur/browstalk genes and Zabrak horn genes got a little scrambled so she ended up with spurs made entirely of bone instead of "bone supported by cartilage but still fairly mobile". This makes non-verbal communication with the other Purebloods very tricky since she can just about raise the browstalks like regular eyebrows but that's about as much as she can make them "move", and the ones on her jaw can't move at all.

-Eventually she and her family find a way to work around it. When D'leah loses the spurs/browstalk on the left side of her face to a concussion grenade injury, Paa helps Kissai to help D'leah adjust to a "new" non-verbal communication technique as it was a big change for D'leah to suddenly NOT be able to use all her spurs the way she was used to. (and thinking about it this prob solidified their friendship bc hey, Paa got it, she understood why D'leah was frustrated ;-; )

-Learnt everything there is to know about Force healing and a great many other ancient Sith techniques from D'leah's mother. She is fully and entirely capable of tearing someone in two with the Force if she wanted to. She just prefers not to and would rather use her talents to heal. Make no mistake tho if things get desperate she can and will wreck your shit to protect her family.

-Paa and D'leah are/were pretty good friends since they both trained with Saa'thri, often together as it gave them someone to "practise" with and this led to them becoming quite close despite the fact that Paa's a hybrid and that would otherwise be a "no no" to D'leah (yes, D'leah is a hypocrite, this is in character for her do not @ me /hj 😜). Paa is probably one of the few "commoners" who can sass D'leah and get away with it because they're just that good of friends, even before Paa became her sister-in-law.

-I've mostly used Paa in the Zephyrverse AU RPs, but I love her so much that actually I do really want to try and shoehorn her into Subterfugeverse as well, I just...do not know how to yet 😔🤘 so that may or may not happen at all in the future, we'll see. History

Born on Nar Shaddaa as older sister to her sibling Jeva, the two had a rough life from the start. Their parents were both spice dealers, and stiffed a Hutt one too many times. Bounty hunters were sent to retrieve the family; when their parents defended themselves and a firefight broke out, Jessi grabbed her sibling and took off into the alley. When they later went back to their home, their parents and one of the hunters were dead inside.

From that point on, Jessi scrounged for scraps for the both of them while keeping them tucked away in forgotten alleyways. A few years of that passed before they encountered a Sith Pureblood bouncer, K'hedif, who offered them some food. K'hedif would continue to bring them food and changes of clothes for the next few weeks, until finally offering to pay for a hotel room for them when they were no longer timid of him.

When K'hedif left the planet, having finally saved up enough credits for a shuttle, he again gave the siblings an offer: Join him and get off Nar Shaddaa. Jeva was still young at the time, Jessi accepted the offer and they found themselves adopted by the man. He job-hopped a lot, taking the siblings with him whenever he did, until finally settling with an old spacer.

He had that job a while, before his employer was killed by Twin Suns gangsters. Jessi tucked her sibling into a closet on the ship and grabbed a spare blaster, positioning herself at the entrance to protect Jeva until K'hedif came for the two. Another spacer named Jen had stepped in just in time to save K'hedif and the siblings, and hesitantly offered a job. Jessi would later learn that it was only so she and Jeva would have a roof over their heads, and that Jen hadn't originally wanted K'hedif on his ship because he was Sith.

While Jeva was raised by the Sept crew, Jessi was hesitant to put too much trust into them and remained pretty independent despite her young age. It would take nearly three years before she even started calling Jen and Kitty her dads. When they adopted Sith apprentice Liakige onto the crew, Jessi grew fond of them pretty quickly; they were a lot closer to Jessi's age than her sibling, so when Ki became more comfortable with the crew, the two of them developed a close bond.

She'd always wanted to be like Kitty - a healer, a medic, whatever she could do - so took an interest in the Alliance as she got old enough for military. The life of a smuggler just wasn't for her. So, though she loved her family dearly, she started getting in touch with the Alliance with various questions on their military program.

With Ki at her side, Jessi decides to eventually leave the Star Hopper and join the Alliance. Jessi became a cadet training as a combat medic, while Ki began training in the newly formed Paladin Order.

Upon graduating from her training, Jessi was recruited to Inferno Squad as its medic - a new squad tasked with protecting rebuilding efforts on various planets. It was when the squad was on Taris that Jessi was mauled by a territorial nexu; it resulted in the loss of an eye. ...As well as finally earning her a military nickname that would soon become her call sign: "Nexu Bait." She was irritable with the name at first, but grew quite fond of it and would laugh about it over the years.

Inferno Squad uncovered a plot on the Commander's life purely by accident, and when Terrin decided to look at them with a little more scrutiny than she had previously, she realized she was holding the team back with their current jobs. They were tasked to train under Alliance Intelligence for a while, and became a subterfuge squad; their job became to track down traitors and various assassination and ambush plots before they could happen. It was around this time that Jessi was made the second-in-command of the squad, after the previous was removed due to not fitting with the restructuring.

Inferno Squad ended up the sole reason that, many years later, the Alliance wasn't totally wiped out when the Empire struck in an attempt to remove a thorn from its side. Had it not been for the squad, their losses would have been far greater.

Jessi readily followed when the Alliance disappeared into unknown space to avoid being wiped out completely. Though she would eventually leave the squad, she'd remain part of Odessa's security force, accompanying teams out into the wilderness as the Alliance slowly worked on building up a city...

Is Maul’s Crimson-Red Skin Rare?

It’s May 4! It’s Star Wars Appreciation day! and it’s about time we talk more about our favorite sassy Sith. I talked about Maul’s eyes before. See post here.

Now, this idea was stuck on my head for a year now and I just really want to share this so I can get over it.

We all know that our boi Maul is famous for his crimson red skin. 

So far in the series and SW Franchise, I have yet to see a Red Zabrak like Maul. If there is, pleaseeee let me know! Coz even wookiepedia agrees. It is stated that Zabraks are commonly Peach and Yellow.  

Here is the front page of the Zabrak species. Showcasing shades of Brown to Orange.

It does say that there are a few Zabraks with red skin -theory closed -Red is rare- so what? Well...here’s the part where it gets weird.

Iridonia, is a planet located in the Mid-section of the galaxy. Iridonia is the Home Planet of the Zabrak species. Dathomir is a Zabrak colony. Looking at the wiki, there are no red skins present in the original Zabrak race. The trait is only present in Dathomirans. It might be some form of rare mutation? or.. 

Darth Maul might be a hybrid-descendant of-

The original Sith Species. The Sith Purebloods.

A force-sensitive species mainly Dark Side users; known for its crimson-hue skin and glowing yellow eyes (as stated in Wookiepedia). The OG race where present-day Siths derived their Dark Side teachings from. 

This is a really really old species and it’s said that they had a vast empire in the outer rim. Dathomir is a planet located in the outer rim right next to Korriban, the OG Sith Pureblood’s Home Planet. They might’ve colonized Dathomir a long time ago or some Purebloods fled to their neighbour planets before the Old Jedis succesfully purged their race entirely and were exiled to the Unknown regions. They are known for interbreeding and colonizing- examples are the prominent Half-Breed Sith Lords during the Old Republic. So it might be a possibility that some were able to preserve their bloodline in Dathomir?

Maybe that’s why Palpatine decided to throw away his plans of ruling with Mother Talzin, who AKA is a master of Dark Side Magic, choosing (kidnapping) a young Maul instead of allying with her. Maybe upon seeing the boy he sensed the Sith bloodline strongly present in him?

But this is all just fun speculation!!

There are no confirmed facts yet of Sith Purebloods ever colonizing Dathomir. It’s a fun theory though for our Favorite Zabrak. I’m biased of him being a Bitchy Special Snowflake. He does have the attitude for it! 

Maul was the most popular one in a rare breed of zabraks with crimson-red skin, glowing yellow eyes and a natural affinity for the Dark side.

Do you have more Imperial or Republic characters?

18 active toons, 12 are Imperial and 6** (I’m terrible at counting/math shhh XD) are Republic

So Imperial, by virtue of me losing muse for a lot of my original Pub toons from when I first started the game, and murking them at the beginning of last year to start fresh with the current gang in Subterfugeverse. I kept adding family members so the Impside is winning by a mile atm because of that factor, even if most of them are canonically Alliance-aligned and not actually Imperial anymore ;)

Used to be much more balanced tho, oopsie :’D I just prefer the storylines and the companions from the Imp side, ya know?

Which class do you play as the most?

If we go on “amount of characters I have for that class”, it’d be

Sith Warrior - 6, I have Saarai (+a Rai clone for Koth’s romance arc), Vano, Kissai, Ty, and Shakkai

Sith Inquisitor - 5, I have Roan (Aria’s dad), D’leah, Ni’kasi, Paa, and Cheriss (who’s a background character that hasn’t really officially appeared yet, but she takes the place of Imperius in Subterfugeverse and sits on the Laws and Justice Sphere instead of Mortis atm (or maybe after, I might have to jig this a bit given the newer update(s) depending on how I’m gonna go with it in my verse)

but in terms of “class who’s abilities/game mechanics I enjoy playing the most”, I’d definitely have to give that to Jedi Shadow specifically, so Jedi Consular.

I just really like their moveset, it’s a lot of fun :P I need to make more Shadows, honestly, but the tomato family is holding me hostage rn so I’m out of “new character” ideas atm. XD

How many have completed KotFE/KotET?

This one is surprising, but as of right now, actually, only Vano. (I had one or two more, see earlier answer re: me murking a bunch of old characters I didn’t like anymore lol)

Aria’s ready to start the Pubside of Forged Alliances, and Saarai’s about ready to begin KOTFE now, but I haven’t had the time to devote to getting either of them any closer yet!

How many have completed up to Secrets of the Enclave?

Actually nobody yet! Vano’s the closest, she’s done up to the Nathema Conspiracy. I’m a bit meh on the plot points that follow after that so I’ve been dragging my feet as it were ;o;

Who stayed loyal to their class romance? Who didn't?

As of right now, just Ni’kasi with Andronikos!

Some of them (like Aria and Vano) are shipped with each other so they either haven’t done romances at all, or the ones they did do were filler (Vano romanced Quinn for plot reasons while she and Aria were separated for a time, but she broke it off with him after the Quinncident)

I do have plans for a fem!JK to romance Kira though, and she will obviously be staying loyal, but I haven’t actually even created her in-game yet.

Who started a romance with Lana, Theron, or Koth?

Saarai romanced both Lana and Koth - I haven't gotten the clone that far yet as to do his romance arc "canonically" yet but she will haha (*banging pots and pans* I said they’re poly and you can’t make me stop Bioware *ahem* anyway) and Vano did Lana’s arc as well as a “filler” because I just love it, I think it’s cute. I’ll probably do Lana’s romance with Aria as well, again as filler, and also because I just want to see what’s different with a Republic/Jedi character as opposed to an Imperial/Sith character.

I haven’t had anyone romance Theron yet and don’t really plan to, I don’t really have anyone that fits with him  (I love him as a friend and advisor, I just don’t vibe with romancing him, pls do not attack me, thank you)

Who is your oldest (having played the longest)?

Aria! She was the first character I got “serious” about, originally I was going to make her a Jedi Knight, but then when I discovered Knights don’t get saberstaffs, I switched her to Consular and never went back.

Who is your newest?

There’s two at the moment, both non-canon and just means to get screenshots/references of them (and play the class stories again but shhh), but both additions to the Reverse!Zephyrverse Ahaszaai family

Shakkai (Sith Marauder) -- Saarai and Ni’kasi’s younger sister, quintessential “middle child” with a Napolean complex that would make her mama proud, a chaotic disaster lesbian, possible (definite) gremlin who will fight EVERYONE and because of this fact she is D’leah’s blatantly-obvious favourite child. XD

and Paa (Sith Assassin - though honestly...she’s a healer and doesn’t even fight much at all except to get a patient out of the firing line lmao I just wanted to try out the Sin spec cause so far all my other SIs have been Sorcs *shrugs*) -- Paa is technically half Pureblood, half Zabrak but ofc the game doesn’t really have way to make hybrids so my excuse is she has very very tiny horns that are pretty much hidden by all her hair ;) plus a few other things that are not immediately visible but do make her “different” to other 100% Purebloods(her spurs aren’t as mobile/emotive, and she has two hearts like a Zabrak would) :’3

She’s Kissai’s half-sister, so the twins (and Shakkai and Jen’s) aunt, (somehow) one of D’leah’s best friends even though Paa is actually the least murdery Sith in existence and D’leah is the complete opposite of that. Very tired healer lady who wishes her stupid family would stop getting mortally wounded for just one day, PLEASE

Some random facts for my legacy that nobody ever asked for [2/6].

Darth Marr:

- Marr is a chiss-zabrak pureblood hybrid and a gnc trans woman in this legacy.

- Marr was born in the year 3688 bby, thus making them age 45 at the start of chapter 1.

- Marr identified as genderfluid and goes by any pronouns that they are comfortable with (I realise that I leaned into writing Marr as she/they pronouns in my snippets). Also, Marr's real name is Beren. Only Aris knows of their name.

- Marr was raised by a sith pureblood mother who was disowned by their noble family due to the illicit affair their mother had with their chiss father. Marr was brought up in a poor caste and was taught to survive, which came in handy in their Sith trainings.

- Becoming Darth Marr meant that they had to erase records of their name and identity from the database. Everyone, including some of the Dark Councillors, began to speculate and the rumour theories was spread within the Empire's society. Marr just played along with the so-called rumours. That being said, they ascended the seat from their Sith Master at age 21.

- There are only selective people have known of Marr's identity and seen their face. Vitiate, Kritanta and Arisxwere the only ones knows. However, Vowrawn kinda figured out Marr's gender based through Arisxara's sexuality.

- Marr is demisexual, so they haven't been too romantically interested in getting close to anyone until Aris came along in their life. Marr didn't think the marriage arrangement would spark them to develop feelings for Aris and romantically involved with her after the two bonded.

- Marr was never used to the life of luxury in all their life. That changed when they married Aris who lived in a different lifestyle and gotten their own secluded home on Ziost (thanks to Vowrawn).

- Being a survivalist from living in rough patches meant they had to sleep with their lightsaber close and be on their guard. Also, Marr can cook.

- Marr doesn't trust a lot of Sith due to the infighting and corruptions. They found couple of trusted allies who shared their views on equality and to change the Empire as an united front. Kritanta and Vowrawn were their first trusted Sith allies, and they also trusted Aris and Lana Beniko.

It'd be really cool if swtor would put all of the humans, cyborgs, and near-humans into one big creator option, since they all share the same face shape.

You want to be a Chiss? Cool, there's still all the options.

You want to be a Rattataki/Chiss hybrid? Cool, you can pick and choose what parts you want. Give them a Chiss's blue skin and blue hair, but with a Rattataki's pale eyes and tattoos.

You want to be some unholy mixture of everything? Go nuts, man. The sky's the limit.

I understand that they wouldn't be able to do that with the Togruta, Nautolans, Cathar, Twi'lek, and Pureblood Sith since they have different facial structures, and it might get iffy with Zabrak horns/hair, but they totally could with all the other species.

This might be of interest to both SWTOR/Star Wars fanartists and fan art appreciators: it's a Discord server that started life in 2019, hosting both fanartists you surely know by now (Spaceling, Moonlitalien, Luniara, Ahuska, Swevenfox, The Archnerd, Aphroditenx… Sorry to omit a ton of other great people there) and their patrons and admirers, plus folks that are dabbling at this or just giving it a try:

It's a nice place, well moderated. The usual detours aside, the theme is Star Wars/SWTOR art and artists-centric. You can interact with the artists, ask for advice, post your own art and your commission data if any, or use the directory and galleries to find who to commission for art. (I'm just an admirer there that was somehow invited and later allowed to start a little 3D corner 😅)

History

Born on Nar Shaddaa as younger sibling to her sister Jessi, the two had a rough life from the start. Their parents were both spice dealers, and stiffed a Hutt one too many times. Bounty hunters were sent to retrieve the family; when their parents defended themselves and a firefight broke out, Jeva was grabbed by their sister and Jessi took off into the alley. When they later went back to their home, their parents and one of the hunters were dead inside.

From that point on, Jessi scrounged for scraps for the both of them while keeping them tucked away in forgotten alleyways. A few years of that passed before they encountered a Sith Pureblood bouncer, K'hedif, who offered them some food. K'hedif would continue to bring them food and changes of clothes for the next few weeks, until finally offering to pay for a hotel room for them when they were no longer timid of him.

When K'hedif left the planet, having finally saved up enough credits for a shuttle, he again gave the siblings an offer: Join him and get off Nar Shaddaa. Jeva was still young at the time, but their sister accepted the offer and they found themselves adopted by the man. He job-hopped a lot, taking the siblings with him whenever he did, until finally settling with an old spacer.

He had that job a while, before his employer was killed by Twin Suns gangsters. Jeva found themself tucked into a closet on the ship by their sister, and didn't know what was happening until K'hedif finally came looking for them. Another spacer named Jen had stepped in just in time to save K'hedif and the siblings, and hesitantly offered a job. Jeva would later learn that it was only so they and Jessi would have a roof over their heads, and that Jen hadn't originally wanted K'hedif on his ship because he was Sith.

From that point, Jeva was raised by the Sept crew. They considered K'hedif, who got the nickname Kitty, and Jen who he'd started dating, as their parents and loved them and the rest of the crew. When Jen and Kitty adopted an injured Sith apprentice, and later had their own two daughters, Jeva would see them as their own siblings; they developed a very close bond with youngest sister Riza, as well, and the two were never too far from one another once Riza was a little older. They and Riza were taught from young ages how to pilot the Star Hopper.

When their parents started looking into retirement, Star Hopper was passed to Riza and Jeva so they could do with it as they’d always dreamed of. Together, they chose to continue the Voidhound’s legacy as renowned privateers, and became a powerful co-captain pair.

Where Riza was often the one to get them out of sticky situations and was the primary pilot of the pair, Jeva worked with their credits and did most of the talking in social situations. Jeva was the one who urged that they work on getting their own crew so it wouldn't be just the two of them. They have a much smaller crew than their fathers before them, but it does its job. They continued Jen and Kitty's endeavor as Alliance privateers.

When the Alliance disappears to find its new home planet, it’s Riza and Jeva’s crew who continues running them supplies on their new planet as they build a civilization there, and they repeatedly scrub the coordinates from their navicomputer. They’d been close to the Commanders when they were younger, and it was that bond that would leave the crew of the Star Hopper as the only outsiders to know the fate to have befallen the infant Alliance: There one day, and then gone again in less than a generation.

It would also be their crew who would plant the clues that would one day lead the galaxy to discover the Alliance once more…
