Things to do in Toronto

Growing up in Toronto, I still get excited when I see the CN tower. I love seeing it glow different lights - paired with a multicoloured sky *click* my camera goes.

Toronto continues to be one of the most diverse places in the world offering an abundance of foods to try and activities to do drawing in crowds from all over.

I love being a tourist in my own city. Below is a recap of my all time favourite things to do in Toronto that hopefully, you will enjoy too - as an international tourist visiting for the first time, or, like me, as a proud Torontonian simply trying to put you on to some of the BEST of the 6ix.

See the Skyline at the CN Tower

The tour starts off by taking you on a 58-second glass elevator up 1,136 feet (346 metres) to the CN Tower’s LookOut Level to get the best views of the city! There's also the Glass Floor and Outdoor SkyTerrace (it’s pretty windy and high up) so hold onto your horses!! Finish it off by checking out the tower's 360 restaurant. For the daredevils, the EdgeWalk is an attraction where you can walk and lean out onto the edge of the tower. Most surreal experience of my life!

2. Distillery District

Did you know this cobblestone street is pedestrian only? Filled with bars, boutiques, restaurants and more! Calling all art lovers, the distillery hosts many outdoor events filling the streets with sculptures, music and performances. My favourite, of course, is the annual Toronto Christmas Market which takes place in December, making the holidays extra magical!

3. Chiang Mai in Liberty Village

Toronto as I've mentioned, is known for its absurd amount of FOOD! I live here and my list is still long as the city keeps growing in restaurants. How do I keep up you ask? I can't. The foodie that I am can only dream. Anyways, Toronto really does have the most tasty food paired with the most aesthetic venues making it feel like an escape whenever I eat out (all the time). Chiang Mai is my favourite place for Thai food. Their lobster pad thai and shrimp rolls are TO DIE FOR! Anyways, this is my favourite place to go either before or after my weekly detox sauna session at (I was planning on gatekeeping them) but...Lite Mind Body Clinic (which I will discuss in my last and final point).

4. Lite Detox Experience at Lite Mind Body Clinic

For my finale, I have saved probably the best thing to do in Toronto (so if you're still reading, you lucked out!). On a weekly basis, I go to Chiang Mai (obviously), either before or after my infrared sauna session at Lite Mind Body Clinic. What is infrared you might ask? It's BETTER than a traditional sauna because you sweat at a lower temperature making the experience more bearable while still reaping all the same benefits. I like to go weekly because it's such a great way to detox your whole body. It also helps to improve your blood circulation and boosts your immune system which is ideal (given covid cooties)! On a serious note, what I love about this place is obviously the aesthetic - the vibes are everything. It just looks and smells so good all the time. I also appreciate it being private so I don't feel awkward when I come in by myself after a long day and its cleanliness makes me feel weirdly comforted and safe to unwind.
