#little windows #that first cactus is mine!!! he was inside for the longest time but i placed jim outside a couple of years ago and now he blooms every year #these are the most amount of flowers he's ever had they're sooooo pretty #and then on my walk with my coworker we saw geese at the track which we never do so i took pictures it was v picturesque #the mucky pond looking one is just a small creek and there were soooo many tadpoles #n then some really pretty flowers i saw in another walk and that last photo to the left is taken from a walk that leads u to a water tower #and finally a weird lizard my coworker was scared of and did not move except to shift his head a little while i took photos

Ok bear with me, because I'm about to go off on a tangent. Due to my current hyperfixation on all things houseplants, I have recently spent what my partner referred to as a "concerning" amount of money and time tending to/learning about/procuring plants and their related accessories.

Now I'm not saying he's totally wrong in feeling like I might be going off the deep end in my pursuit of dopamine but in my defense, I offer this: YEAH BUT THEY ARE FUN. AND CUTE. AND SHUT UP ITS MY MONEY LEAVE MY PLANT BABIES OUT OF THIS

But seriously, i promised I'd stop buying so much stuff from Amazon, and I did. But then I realized that you can buy all kinds of different plant cuttings and starter plants on Etsy, and I ended up buying a select variety that I really want but don't want to pay $100+ for a plant in a 6 inch pot. Some of these prices for trendy plants are insane! Anyway I'm kind of obsessing over Philodendrons so I got 3 oh-so-trendy starters that were about $20 each:

Is there an explanation on why I was able to draw faster back then compared to now? Was it because I had to draw a lot for uni and then in my spare time I also drew, so it was just out of habit? Is it because I'm more critical of my work now than before where I just drew for the sake of drawing something? So now that I've been out of uni, I want to draw things outside of my comfort zone? I think I just answered my own question LOL I think it's because I don't want to just limit myself to character portraits and I've been working more on experimenting on different styles... Whereas back then I think I drew faster because I didn't really go outside of what I already knew. Not only that, but I would draw for the sake of posting on social media! Not because I enjoyed what I was posting. Now that I distanced myself from posting consistently from social media, I don't have that mentality of wanting to place my self worth as an artist based on how it's received online. I just draw what I think is fun! And tbh I have a healthier relationship with my art ever since. I think that's it... With that being said... I can't wait to get my own space so I can draw without any interruption.
