going off of what dwreader and ghostfoolish have been saying better than i can:

why do people think louis will still be a believable victim and it won't be racist if the show just has armand mess with louis's memories regarding 1x05 and how claudia died, and also be controlling him throughout the entire interview/relationship? like not only does it paint victims of abuse as unreliable and unstable, therefore not be trusted with anything*, but it also, just, shifts most if not all the blame from a white man to a poc? we've asking this the entire time, but they still don't have an answer for that.

*like statistically speaking victims of abuses' memories might be muddled/repressed from the trauma, so even though they know the abuse happened, people will use the fact that they might not be able to describe an entire fight in specific detail, or got some dates mixed up, or did not speak up sooner, to paint them as mentally ill liars, or even abusers themselves. which is why i think giving louis false memories in 1x05 is still victim blaming in a way, because it encourages the trend of victims not being believed.

What I still can't put together is Akutagawa's personal thoughts surrounding his own death.

Taking a look at some moments from the manga, the first time he fights Atsushi in ch 4 and his death scene in ch 87:

And something that also stuck with me: This scene from 55 minutes.

Where he repeatedly "smiles in self mockery" when he believes his death is near, because he thinks going out in ways he deems "beautiful" is too much of a privilege for such a lowly person.

Knowing how he is and what he's been through, he might be waiting eagerly for his time to come. I would say the way he did actually die is not satisfactory to him at all. He would be so conflicted because what is more honorable than self sacrifice?

He longed for a horrible death. More fitting for someone like him. And I think that would not sit right with him...

Unless he realizes, in the split seconds before his consciousness fades, that death is death and that's what he was looking for. No matter how beautiful or damned it is.

#◜✧ . ❪ muse. sethos. ❫#I was baffled when Bamoun & Cyrus said adults couldn't withstand Hermanubis' power so they went and tried it on CHILDREN???#I feel terrible for both Sethos and Cyno bc their guardian figures were ATROCIOUS and yet they were all these 2 ever had.#So even though Cyrus bought Cyno off from a couple to experiment on him and then never told Cyno ANYTHING #about his roots; the experiment; the Temple etc <- which he had every right to know. esp after he became an adult #and even though Bamoun offered Sethos up for the experimentation w/o missing a beat; both Cyno and Sethos continued to love them #Cyno almost gave his precious power & life purpose away to save Cyrus' life from a betrayal that the old man went through willingly #and Sethos lived his whole life /for/ Bamoun's goal; then wept once Bamoun died bc he was the only authentic connection he had #I bet Cyno and Sethos must be/must've been conflicted on how to feel about their respective guardian figure/s bc yeah...#they received a roof over their heads; warm food; nice clothes; excellent education etc thanks to them #but these old men ALSO took advantage of them being orphans & viewed them as means to a goal rather than as people #God Sethos and Cyno have so much in common it's surreal. I can't believe Cyno was released two YEARS ago #and we only found out about Sethos and his connection to Cyno NOW </3 Cyno's POV throughout the story be like 😭

literally how i feel any time i read this line. absolutely NOT

i think he's a great mirror type character for the mc depending on how much you draw on the default ra-on and their characterization, but more specifically their feeling of inferiority to solomon (which i take for my mc loyal). both the mc and bael are stuck filling in for a role for a king that neither feels they're well equipped for or were even born to hold and the fact that bael's so used to taking the fall that he's automatically ready to do it for you too is just. man. orz

Listening to a video game talk in the background of my work and like... were smartphones already so big in 2013? As in, widely adopted to the point of high schoolers bringing them to school? Was that an America/Western Europe thing? I know I have memory issues and 2013 just so happens to be the time that I have trouble remembering but... really? 2013? Was that a thing? Maybe it was and I just can't recall? Uhhh?

I know me not having a smartphone in like 2015 was weird, to the point where I was the 'retro tech' guy back near the end of middle school but... uh. I'm a little confused.
