Anyways, it’s been a hot minute. I was admittedly skeptical when I first heard about Promare, but I went to see it anyways solely because the animation looked cool. (I then proceeded to watch it 4 more times then paid an absurd amount of money to see it in 4DX). I’m really glad I gave it a chance because the entire movie is SO hype and such a huge serotonin rush!

I drew these about 3 years ago (realizing this made me shrivel into dust), but burnout and quarantine depression made me reluctant to compile any of my sketchdumps, much less draw at all. I’m hoping to slowly get back into the swing of things, but in the meantime, I hope you’re all being kind to yourselves and staying safe.

Working as a nurse has its ups and downs, but today is definitely one of the ''down'' days, so to speak. Your job can be rewarding to no end, but it can also be difficult on days like today.

After caring for a sweet, young gentleman for the last five weeks, you suddenly lost him when his heart gave out because it couldn't handle the stress anymore.

Right now, you're sitting in your car before you drive home, and you can't stop bawling your eyes out after the shock when you hear that he has passed away.

Your patient, Justin, was always so sweet, caring, and funny, but most of all, he was strong. The fact that his heart was deteriorating rapidly didn't stop him from living life to the fullest, even when he was in a hospital.

But today, his life sadly ended, and a donor heart was on its way to save him, but they were too late. His heart couldn't take it anymore, and you weren't there to be able to say goodbye to him.

During your shift, you managed to keep it together, though you never stopped thinking about him, and you visited his family in the family room during your break to share your condolences.

It wasn't until you unlocked your car and got in that you finally let go of everything, and now you're seated in the parking lot of the hospital where you work, grieving one of your favorite patients.

You have no clue how long you've been sitting there, but when you've finally calmed down enough, you pick yourself together enough to drive home to see your husband, Andy.

There's always been something about walking through your front door and seeing him that instantly brought you comfort and warmth, today being no exception to this.

''Hi, Princess,'' he says as he envelops you in his arms, and you can't help but burst into tears again, and it feels like this time you won't stop crying for hours on end.

''C'mon, let's sit on the couch together so you can tell me what's going on, okay?'' he says softly, and you nod, your sobbing now having died down to soft sniffles.

When he leads you to the couch, you're still in your scrubs, but neither of you mentions it. Right now, you need your husband, and a change of clothes can wait until later.

''What's going on, Princess?'' he asks when you're sitting sideways in his lap, your face buried in his neck and your eyes closed. You're inhaling his comforting, soothing scent while gathering your thoughts.

''H-He didn't… They were too late,'' you sigh out, followed by another sob, and he pulls you close, his cheek resting on your head as he holds you close, rubbing your back soothingly while you allow yourself to grieve one of your favorite patients.

''I'm so sorry to hear that, Princess,'' he says, thinking back to all the stories you've told him about Justin. You shared all your worries with him, and Andy's heartbroken to see you like this.

The two of you sit like this for a while, Andy whispering sweet words into your hair while you tell him about Justin and grieve his loss for as long as you need to.

''Babe? Could you sing me a lullaby?'' you ask suddenly, and the smile on Andy's face lights up the room and your mood. Every time you're stressed or can't sleep, you ask him to sing you a lullaby, which is when he plays the piano and sings softly to lull you to sleep.

''Of course, Princess,'' he says, and you get up before letting him guide you to the piano, and you sit down next to him.

''Is there a specific song you'd like today?'' he asks when you're all settled in, but you shake your head and let him choose today. Today, he decided ''Listen To Your Heart'' because it's one of your favorites.

As soon as he plays the first chords, you sigh softly and close your eyes, and with Andy's voice in your ear, you slowly calm down and let yourself rest.

Though you're not entirely asleep when he's done, he still picks you up and carries you to the bed, where he lays you down before undressing and taking his place with you.

''I love you so much, Princess, more than you'll ever know,'' he whispers against your shoulder, complimented by a few soft kisses as you melt into his touch.

It doesn't take long for a dreamless sleep to take you, and the following day, you wake up wrapped in your husband's arms. You feel a lot better than yesterday, and you're very thankful.

''Mornin', Princess,'' he says, and you shuffle a little bit to be able to kiss him. The kiss is soft, tender, and loving, and it melts your heart as his hand ghosts over your side and down to your hip.

''Mornin'-'' you shriek as his warm hand wraps around your thigh, and he pulls you onto him so you're straddling him. He's planning on making good use of every last second of your day off, showing you how much he loves you.

• the whole reason why you and whiskey were paired up for this mission as a fake married couple is because everyone can see the ✨ sparks ✨ between you two

• even when you were brand new at Statesman and whiskey was the senior agent who was responsible for training the new class of agents you were in, you two had already developed a soft spot for each other

• he liked how pretty and skilled you were, smart and you seemed to carry out any task effortlessly because you were so good at it he could swear you were born to be an agent

• and you never knew you were into cowboys until you met that one cowboy, he was professional but he was also such a sweet southern gentleman and since the first time he called you sugar, you felt your heart beating faster

• but you and Jack weren't paired up in missions a lot, whereas you were still gaining experience, Champ assigned Whiskey for bigger and more dangerous missions due to his experience

• no wonder he had the title of senior agent after all

• so when the opportunity of you two go on a mission together appeared, you were both excited, he saw in your a beautiful and lovely friend, of course he would like to have something more maybe, but he assumed you wouldn't want to go with an older man like him

• however, you wanted nothing more than that cowboy paying attention to you in another way, so when you heard you two would play a married role, you couldn't hide your excitement

• when you two got to the hotel, you and Jack realized you'd share a room, to which you were both shy at first, but you figured it would be such a cool experience

• he's a gentleman so he will totally offer you the bed while he takes the couch, but you would say no, after all, you don't want your cowboy screwing up his back, besides, the bed is big enough for the two of you

• you also have the conversation about limits and what's off limits; if you are undercover as a couple there's gotta be some level of PDA and Jack wants to know how far he can go without making you uncomfortable

• he will definitely not flirt with women let alone sleep with them while on the mission, he knows your relationship is fake but he won't ever disrespect you that way

• your first kiss happens when you two are by the pool, you are both eying the target and for that, you need to act as natural as possible - for a loving couple, at least - so you sit on his lap and peck his lips

• it takes the cowboy off guard; he wasn't expecting it at all, but when it happens he's suddenly hooked

sometimes we forget how much of a light house is in cuddy’s life that her PERSON!!!

this is exactly what i needed in my inbox for personal reasons so thank you :") but yeah... they're both weird!!! is the thing!!!! and house is so loud about it because that's how he avoids being accused of anything and cuddy tries to undermine her weirdness because that's how she avoids being accused of anything, but both of those mechanisms are a way of not being one's true self to the fullest. because if you are determined not to do what you consider to be the things only other people can do and you believe in this because it was proven to you time and time again that you don't exactly fit in, you might miss out on the simplicity you're unexpectedly able to appreciate and engage in. and if you're constantly trying to meet everyone's expectations, where is the space for you to be you? and house IS a light in cuddy's life in this very unexpected, unusual way because he somehow still preserves while living in a way that's completely against the idea of what life should or is supposed to be. something cuddy struggles with throughout the entire show almost... even the things she wants that fit the perfect life narrative she tries to make herself want them more. i am instantly brought to tears thinking about her wish to have a kid which seemed more real to me than her attempts to find a romantic partner... because i really feel like she wanted to have someone who would at least hear her if not be like her -> that's why wilson is so significant to her. he's wilson! he hears what nobody else can hear... but she also wanted somebody to love without worrying about whether she was doing it right. so the fact that she admits not to feel what she thought she would feel towards rachel makes such compelling character drama... because the most crucial thing that cuddy does wrong is the fact that she thinks not to fit within the realm of supposed and should is to fail. and that brings me back to house because he does not care about the supposeds and the shoulds and he is a great doctor, maybe even because of this very thing more than anything else. and yes that does disrupt cuddy's whole worldview, but it's also hopeful i think. because if not sticking to the rulebook works for someone else, maybe she's not doing anything wrong when she's not married with kids by the time her mother deems appropriate. maybe she's not doing anything wrong it she gets overwhelmed by how much work she has to deal with. this is EXACTLY why house is the one to help out in that cuddy centric episode. because that's what he is to her. he jumps out of the ordinary and makes it work. so it's okay for cuddy to be cuddy. so there's no right way to feel something. and it's pretty fascinating because that same thing is what easily turns into one of house's greatest flaws (the fact that he won't let himself do or god forbid enjoy something ordinary or boring), but to cuddy it's inspirational. (the horror on her face when he admits that he values her over his work comes to mind) and there is something very human about all that which is mainly why theirs is my favourite relationship on the show. humans do that! we see something in someone and find light in it, but to that person to believe that something they've been called crazy for (by others or themselves) or have felt bad about to the point of it becoming an integral part of their very being and simultaneously an inevitable source of some kind of twisted, survival-rooted pride can be viewed in a different way is world-changing and on the edge of world-ending. that's the main conflict between these 2 characters i think. the fact that the very thing that they're inspired by in one another is what terrifies them when they get too close to each other. loving the other one is easy. it's loving themselves enough to be a person with them that's paralysing.

Hm imagine it gets so cold Sebek crawls to Savanaclaw because it's the hottest dorm (in terms of weather too :) ) because its realm isn't affected by the cold or smth

Or The Kindest Birdmaster didn't pay the bills again, and the magic stones heating system was cut off/fire faries went on a strike idk.

Because of the unusual cold Sebby becomes really sloppy, and isn't fulfilling his duties to the fullest so Lilia suggests him to spend time in Savanaclaw until they fix the mess with the central heating. Sebek refuses of course, but changes his opinion soon, telling himself that it's "a good training" bla bla

So there he is. Basking in Savanaclaw sun, rays gently kissing his cheeks as he stretches on a hammock, finally able to relax his muscles, which were sore from constant shivering..........

........Leona quietly sits next to him, picking up the book Sebek has been reading.

"How to Survive in a Den full of Lions", he mumbles the title.

"Huh, look at you, doing all the preparations. What a diligent puppy" Leona smirks.

Even though he knew Sebek had some crocodile beastmen blood, he still called him a puppy because of his tendency to trail after Malleus.

No, rather a guard dog?

He looks at Sebek's sleeping form, his face so peaceful, finally quiet. Sebek's yelling often disturbed Leona's sleep, and he hated that, but now he looked so calm that Leona couldn't help but smile. "See? Sleep is the best solution," he yawns. Now, he wants to take a nap too, and it's better to do it while the loud crocodile is still lost in his dreams..........

Sorry I got carried away. I don't even know what that was.

Both Leona and Sebek enjoy some good meat. Leona would never call Sebek herbivore, oh no. When he first witnessed the extent of Sebek's appetite with his own eyes, he was a quite shocked. "Wtf this is how crocodile beastmen devour food in Sunset Savanna" he said. And Sebek beamed with joy when he heard that!

Sebek asked Leona to teach him how to play chess (because Waka-sama mentioned chess once)

Sebek has two(2) sleeping beauties now lol

Leona has heard a lot about Sebek from Jack! He would often mention Sebek's strength and speed and what a good training buddy he is etc. Leona finds it cute (but won't tell anyone).

But what's more important! Baul came to Briar Valley from Sunset Savanna!! So I absolutely headcanon that he probably knew Leona's ancestors! Maybe Baul was a royal guard at the palace there too?? We don't know why he moved to Briar Valley (I'll write my thoughts on this in a different post), but imagine if Baul would sometimes mention info about his youth (life in Sunset Savanna). So Sebek occasionally surprises Leona with his knowledge of some specific facts of the kingdom's history! Idk I just find this interesting!

Since it's ✨Miles Kane Day✨ I just want to take a second to appreciate his lyrics a little. Because the man is an amazing lyricist - which gets missed so often because of his proximity to Alex and how they're constantly (no pun intended) being compared.

He's a great lyricist in his own right.

And my example will be one of my favorites of his lyrically maybe - Constantly.

Look at em. Look at this. This is brilliant. It's heartbreaking as fuck and I've got some even more heartbreaking theories in my head about it (which I may just share sometime) - but just first and foremost: These are amazing.

The emotions captured in there! And the story! Which you can just feel is a real story that affected him deeply. Down to the small details. Specifics we won't be able to understand but you can just sense that if you had some more insider info everything would fall right into place. You know? He just puts his feelings out in the open. Full honesty. People in his life who figure out the details will see his entire soul in the song. Vulnerability to its fullest. I love these types of songs.

We gotta appreciate this man more. More than we already do.

Bastien: "Well... How about some sword training together?"

Lucas: "What… Sword training…?"

Haures: "I see, Then we can be of some help. Mr. Lucas, if you don't mind, let's train together sometime. Let us repay you for what you did for us today, even if it's just a little."

Lucas: "Erm... Right… I'm very happy to hear that... I would love to train with you, but.... I have a lot of other things I need to do. I can't make time for it until I get those things done. So, for now, I'll just accept your offer. I'll ask you for training when I have more time, is that fine…?"

Haures: "I see… Then I guess it can't be helped."

Bastien: "That's right. And Mr. Lucas always seems to be busy."

In Defense of Public Speaking

Is it just me or do you think public speaking is so much easier than having conversations with people, one to one?

This may be an unpopular opinion because I often hear the reverse. As a college student, I'm always amazed when people who are quite talkative in class struggle when it comes to making a speech in front of everyone.

To me, public speaking gives you the element of control. Unless I am making an impromptu speech, everything I say is calculated, planned, and rehearsed. Every word is thought out in advance and the tone and tempo of the speech is something I can spend days perfecting before my presentation. Perhaps it is the perfectionist in me speaking, but I believe it's beautiful. Public speaking is more predictable than speaking one-on-one, which, to me, has numerous variables that can't be calculated in advance.

But whether I am delivering a rehearsed speech or making an impromptu one, there's a sense of peace in knowing that I have an allotted time to express myself and that I will be able to use it to its fullest. No one is going to interrupt me, at least not usually, and even if interruptions do occur, that's okay. As a speaker, I have control of the room and I can navigate the situation with poise to bring my audience's attention back to me. This is the "default"; etiquette commands people to be respectful, quiet, and to listen carefully during a speech. In normal conversations, it's less of a requirement and in my experience, most people are horrible listeners.

In public speaking, questions and comments won't be asked until the very end. During Q&A time, people are more likely to think twice about what they're going to say. This may be due to exercising careful listening skills or be a result of fearing that they'd misspeak or voice something unintelligent in front of the crowd.

Additionally, there's an appreciation for pauses when making public speeches. Rather than being perceived as awkward silences, they are seen as a public speaking strategy. When I pause during my speech, people won't see it as an opportunity to interrupt and shove their words down my throat. Instead, they'll think, "Oh. A dramatic pause. I wonder what she will say next."

On the other hand, when you converse with someone, you must repeatedly make quick decisions about how you're going to respond to the other. There's a back-and-forth. Now, don't get me wrong, I love dialogue and love listening to others share their thoughts and discussing with them! I would not want to talk to a brick wall.

But with many people, I try to plan carefully before I respond to them. There are a lot of steps involved in the "art of conversation", at least for me. First, I have to actively listen to the other person. Then, I have to interpret the information they're telling me. Sometimes, this means simply remembering what they said. Sometimes, it means analyzing, giving sympathy, getting rid of personal biases, and trying to understand the many nuances of their words and truly seeing them as a person. Lastly, I have to carefully choose the words that I think would be best for the person and the situation. With people I know and trust, the last step is easy. But with most people, they're not. It might take me a second to reply. I might pause as I talk.

Sometimes, this silence is seen as "Oh, she just doesn't have anything to say." But no. I'm simply thinking carefully. And then they move on to a new topic while I'm still over here, thinking about the old one. This is especially an issue with people who aren't patient or have very low attention spans.

I care deeply about how I communicate my ideas, and I like to choose and calculate my words before speaking. I also like to give my whole attention to a person when they are speaking. I won't start thinking about my reply until I know for sure that you are done saying what you wish to me. So please, do give me one second to collect my thoughts to form a reply. For this reason, I like to speak slowly when I am conversing and if you make me feel like I have to rush to get my words out, I will get frustrated and feel as if you are not giving my thoughts the respect and consideration that I am giving yours.

I listen more than I talk when I'm in conversations with people... but public speaking? My speeches tend to be longer than I originally planned. I love it.

Hi hey hello. I impulsively deleted my last post because I thought I'd be gone for good. I really did just need a long break.

I went on a much needed trip after that one post. I was able to continue living my last semester of college to the fullest. I'm more confident in my future than ever before and no one can take that away from me.

Man I'm just so bummed the cast and everybody isn't gonna be there on zoom chilling live :( watching a prerecorded thing with just Kevin and Jenna is really, really not it. It won't have the same heart, if that makes sense.

I get the bummed out feeling and I myself have expressed that before but I don't think it's all that bad? We've already found out that, at the very least, Chris, Becca and Hemo are going to be at the live event and probably loads of others. Watching a recording of it isn't as fun but Kevin and Jenna are gonna hang there, and though I get what you're saying about it not having the same heart I think the event itself is gonna be fun. Obviously it's way better for people in LA actually being able to attend.

But I've been thinking more about it and rewatching the previous two livestreams, and honestly I'm not too bummed they're doing things differently this year. I still think the livestream should be a separate live thing and not a 20 bucks to watch, but I get that all the guests wouldn't have the capacity to essentially do two events. Plus, rewatching the earlier ones made me realize that the Zoom thing was out of necessity and isn't the most practical. I know we've all gotten used to it during the pandemic but with the Zoom calls many people got cut off, what they were saying interrupted, and it overall had the disjointed feeling all of these group calls do. Now that they can have it in person I'm not surprised they're going for it.

But yeah I still think it was made much more exclusive this year, both by that mandatory $20 and by having it only be a recording of the event LA people get to enjoy to its fullest. It's not perfect, but I still appreciate Kevin and Jenna so so much. And this is absolutely not directed against you I'm just reminded of it, but people straight up accusing them of profiting off of this is vile, when all the money is for Alexandria House and if anything they're putting in countless free hours and effort. Are they also promoting their pod this year? Sure. There is that aspect, but I've seen so many people (*cough* twitter *cough* and I'm sure tiktok) be so rude about it.

Anyway, now that there's less than a week to go I guess we've covered all their is about Snixxmas 2022 and all that's left is the event itself. If I'm honest, I'm sorta glad it doesn't make a huge difference to watch it live this year because I cannot stay up until 4am before my Friday workday again lol.

"El Capitan" by Idlewild - it's not about being queer, at least not that I know of, but I kind of feel like it encapsulates some of the queer experience. like, let me do this monumental thing so you'll take me seriously and you'll still treat it like a casual publicity stunt. like I'm only doing it to make a scene. makes sense?

"Voice - English Ver." by Tacitly - queers often have the problem of people in their lives, especially parents/parent figures, not being able to accept that they have discovered new parts of their identities. the lines "whatever you think of me, leave it alone/I don't want to live in the shade of her throne" and "when you look at me, who do you remember?" mmm that's the stuff

"Spread My Wings" by Stray Kids - this is actually a song that starts out with them trying to act older and more sophisticated and grow up faster and then at the end they decide to live their age and take advantage of their youth and abilities to be immature while they can. growing up too quickly isn't a queer-exclusive thing, but I hear about it a lot in queer circles I frequent, so I thought about it for this

"Telephone" by Lady Gaga and Beyoncé - I didn't want to put born this way in there just to be gay (although I do like that song) but now we have a Lady Gaga and also this song is a supporter of platonic love. something something Beyoncé when she says she won't leave her girls no faster

"Marionette" by KIRA - break free of the bonds of society. do what makes you happy, not what the world says will

"Left & Right" by SEVENTEEN - another song about youth. this time it's more about you can't run faster than your legs can carry you. you're doing okay. you're gonna be successful, so enjoy life. queer values in there.

"SLUMP - English Version" by Stray Kids - song about feeling like you're falling behind and everything feels hopeless. life is hard and there are so many things to keep up with. being queer definitely does not make your life am exception to this.

"Zombies on Your Lawn" by Laura Shigihara - neurodivergent people are both more likely to have special interests like PvZ and be queer (me moment, I'm describing me)

"El Mismo Sol" by Alvaro Soler - if you listen to the version with Shakira you'll be mislead into thinking this is a song about sexy, but actually it's about everyone living together in harmony "under the same sun" (well, technically "bajo el mismo sol," since it's in Spanish). sounds like queer ideology to me

"I Am Not Alone" by Sori and Folded Dragons - even if you break me down you can't destroy me. queer values. also the music video and choreography kinda gay tbh,,,,..... definitely looks sapphic to me

"Glorious" by David Archuleta - everyone is different and has a different role to play and when we come together we make something wonderful and beautiful. sort of same vibes as el mismo sol. also appeasing my personal christianity plus David Archuleta gay /srs

"Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield - do things that make you happy. don't let others dictate your happiness. your life is your own story to write. queer agenda once again.

"Singing in the Shower" by Christopher Kale Jones - freedom to have fun and be silly also I just really like this song

"Single 4 Life" by Camron Crowe - what can I say I'm aroace (this song is definitely more of a relationships are too much trouble vibe but that's irrelevant)

"No hay Semilla - Electronilboy Remix" by Quiero Club and Electronikboy - uhh I translated this once and I don't remember exactly what it's about but it's pretty edgy and I think it has like millennial anger vibes so I'll take it for the gays

"Can Be Better" by HIGHLIGHT - things suck but oh well they'll be better tomorrow. once again we are taking the positive outlook

"我怎能留下你" by Ezu - from the HIStory 3 - Trapped soundtrack. that is a show about gay men. also I don't remember what the song is about exactly but I think it was kinda gay too. that might've just been the influence of the gay men on me though

"The Way I Feel" by Keane - "there's something wrong about the way I feel" tell me you're othered by society without telling me you're othered by society

"Ghosting" by Mother Mother - feeling invisible is so. also don't the gays love Mother Mother isn't that a thing

"Hands" by Jewel - my power is my own power. take action into your own hands. I'm not broken. feels queer to me

"Funkytown" by Lipps Inc. - come on don't tell me you can't figure this one out. it's just like. vibes. gotta make a move to a town that's right for me. funkytown

"Hug a Pug" by Webkinz ft. Michelle Junkin and Leonidas Kouvaris - be kind hug a pug and while you're at it have a little dance party. also don't judge a book by its cover that's in there too

"Crystal Ball" by Keane - it seems hopeless but there is hope. "tell me life is beautiful." easy to relate to in a world that seems to hate us

"Mister Cellophane" by John C. Reilly - from the soundtrack of the musical Chicago. about feeling like no one sees you. this one is pretty relatable if you equate it to queerness, but this one especially goes out to the gncs, the genderfluids, and the aroaces. also other identities that people have a hard time even accepting exist so they don't even usually get to the point of purposeful discrimination cuz it just doesn't feel like a real thing to them

"UNBREAKABLE - Remix" by KIRA and Ruby - sticks and stones can break my bones and words can hurt me but you can't break me. I'll always get back up. we need a little of that.

"Blue Moo '62" by The Sparklets - literally could not give you a reason except vibes

"Velociraptor" by Storybots - this one's there representative of the feral dinosaur queers. you know what I mean.
