Can you explain more on who Angel is? I don't know much about Ssum.

Hello Anon!!! I'm not the most knowledgeable on Ssum either 🤔ᴴᴹ but your local Cheritz enthusiast is on the case!! Here's what I know!! ^^

Angel is not actually called Angel but 1004!! The number translates to that name in Korean, which is why we call him Angel. He is a most mysterious fellow who has, to my knowledge, only appeared twice in Harry's route, changing the chatroom's background to a series of ones and zeroes, similar to how Unknown did in the MM prologue

Angel's role in Ssum involved being able to hack somehow into the chatroom and offer the player the option to either view a good future of Harry or a bad one. In Angel's second appearance, I believe he only gave a bad future?

This is all I can gather about Angel in regards to the Ssum. In regards to Cheritz's other games though....

I've gathered that, first of all, Angel's way of speaking seems to resemble Seven's? It might be possible that Angel is Seven, considering:

The aforementioned similarities in speech

Seven's 1st appearance in MM after the prologue is a chatroom at 10:04

Hacking the app

Having a number as a name

And this is only a theory (though a very strong one) but Seven is most likely a Wizard, and Angel possesses the power to show the player the future, something that probably wouldn't be possible for a normal person

Also the fact that we already know that MM and Ssum take place within the same universe/pocket dimension

Idk if Angel is Seven idk. But it seems way too similar to not at least be a reference to Seven

The references to Angel don't stop at MM tho. The number 1004 is seen in Nameless at least once

1004. The main character's address. The rest of the address lines are references to both Cheritz and Crobidoll, which leads me to suspect that the number 8282 might also have significance somewhere else, altho idk where I'd look to find that out

Idk if there are any Angel references in Dandelion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ummmm but that's all I know. Idk if Angel is Seven, it seems quite likely, but if the person in the teaser Cheritz showed is Angel, I don't think the face looks like Seven tbh. Different face shape. Tho I kinda agree with ppl about the use of the character wearing a cloak similar to those worn by Mint Eye followers. That's an interesting addition

There may be other ppl who are a bit more qualified to answer this ask than me idk. When I'm browsing on Tumblr, I only check out the Cheritz tag and Nameless The One Thing You Must Recall tag so I only looked at The Ssum tag today to do a bit more research on this.. I've never even played Harry's route and I was playing June's but recently uninstalled the game again because, even with June, it's still god damn boring and I hate the gameplay of it

I will reblog the posts I used to research this immediately after posting this tho. But. There's this one really good post I saw where I first learned about Angel and I can't find it for the god damn life of me. I believe it's on @natsuneages blog and the title is Cheritz Boys with Red Eyes Have Powers, and @zealousfanprunewolf commented on it about Angel but I can't god damn find it guys aaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

i know a lot of people think the “Angel” 1004 that first appears on day 74 of Harry’s route in The Ssum is Seven just based on their mannerisms but i’ve been wracking my brain trying to make sense of the name 1004 and i just realized 10:04 is the TIME OF THE FIRST CHATROOM THAT SEVEN APPEARS IN ON THE FIRST DAY

i honestly am taking this as confirmation that the angel 1004 is saeyoung in some capacity and i think the reference is really sweet besides 🥹

The Ssum has been making me look forward to something every day ever since I started playing.. the whole concept is so amazing and there's so much to be excited for!

I'm being completely honest when I say this game is so healing. The Infinite Universe is so beautiful, and the community is so supportive and loving ♡

There's a planet where you can be creative and post stories, poems, or whatever you're feeling. There's a planet where you can get troubles off your chest and receive support from others. There's a planet when you can post or participate in any topic you'd like and engage with others! And those aren't even all of them!!

There's still upcoming features that I'm really looking forward to, but I'm totally satisfied as it is right now so it makes me excited to think about the new things to come!

Teo is an angel, and everything is so casual and sweet. It's so refreshing. You set a schedule so you and Teo can talk when it's most convenient for you, which is amazing. It's all just a breath of fresh air. When Teo is away, I browse the planets and admire my cute little space creatures >_<

There's also a personality test that says what kind of relationship is well-suited for you, which is really fun! There's daily, thought-provoking questions which I enjoy the most. It's really nice to see other people's responses, too.

Also, PIU-PIU!!! Cute!!!!!! I will not elaborate further, that is all you need to know. The Ssum is so rewarding and pleasant, I really can't recommend enough for people to play it. I don't want to say too much about Teo other than the fact that he is cute because I want everyone to see for themselves, and also because your special ssum-one will be a little different based on your responses.. hehe....

Last but not least: Teo's voice actor is THE BEST. They did an absolutely amazing job,I cannot get enough of Teo's voice. I replayed his phone calls so many times I got a Trivial Feature (achievements!) for it haha.... Seriously, his voice is so good.

There's 200 days available right now (200!!!) and more days are on the way~ The fact that I have something to look forward to for such a long time to come gives me so much happiness and peace. And I mentioned before how healing it is, so I'm so grateful 💕

Have been addicted on playing The Ssum again now that it's finally released!! 😭😭

I've played since the beta version, and have been hooked since. I have great memories from the beta version with Teo (the character), especially because that time, I was also so stressed out from job-hunting, just like Teo, so I felt like I could relate to him. And the fact that the day I had the interview with the company that I'm working at right now, was the same day Teo also has his was just asdfghjkl 😭😭

Now that the official version has been released, I kinda expected it to be the same, but it actually has more features now. There's an in-game forum where you can actually create a thread on, and other player can comment on it, which is a really nice addition. Also, the fact that there's a 200 days worth of chats is so relieving because the beta version only lasts for 14 days. And I'm glad that they're gonna keep updating the game, so it won't end in just 200 days 🥺

Also, Teo is just AS. SWEET. AS. EVER 😭😭

Usually I like ppl who are a bit more aloof and ppl who are more like the cute type isn't really my type, but I guess I was wronggg 😭😭

The character can be kinda cheesy sometimes lol, but I actually like it. And the fact that he has the same kind of humour (and loves dogs too!) and being such an angel just makes my day better TT

I haven't missed any chat/calls/days yet so far, which actually is kinda rare for me to stick to a game and playing it consistently everday.

I can't wait to see the future chats, but also kinda afraid that I might get too attached to him TT

guardian angel ( ray x reader)

i’ve been playing a lot of the ssum lately and unlocked ‘the canals of sensitivity’ which is basically like. a place to post fanfic LMAOOO so i cleaned up a ray x reader i wrote like two years ago and posted it there. the original version is orphaned on ao3 and kinda sucks but shhh

notes: obsessive behaviour, stalking, unrequited feelings, vague religious themes (because of mint eye’s influence on ray), mentioned selfharm (biting)

summary: The two of you have never met. You aren’t even aware of his existence. But Ray knows you, knows how you laugh when you think no one is watching, knows the videos you find comfort in late at night, and the friends you only talk to through messages on a screen. It pains him how he can’t reach out to you yet. He’ll give the hope that has dimmed from your eyes another chance to grow ablaze.

Soon, he’ll be the angel guiding you to paradise. So keep clinging on to his hand until then, okay? 

You’re wearing something new today.

The sight makes Ray perk up in his seat, his eyes glued to the screen. The video quality from the surveillance camera is so poor that he has to lean towards his screen to make out every detail. It hurts his dry eyes even more, but it’s a price he’s willing to pay. You’re still just as beautiful. You’d look nice no matter what you wear. Would you let him pick out clothes for you once you get here…? The thought makes his face flush. He’ll buy some in advance, just in case.

Thinking about your arrival makes him restless. He’s been busy enough combing through your social media to figure out what items you’d like in your room and what food you might enjoy. Now he has to consider clothing as well… It all has to be perfect, you deserve nothing less. The wishes filling his prayers are often about you these days. That you would be happy with what he did, that you would like his company, that you wouldn’t want to leave…

He’d expected a challenge in picking a single person from the masses. It was an order from his Saviour however and, for her, he’d take on any task. No matter what. He’s already pushing himself to his limits day by day, drowning himself in Elixir on her command, though each drink leaves him sicker than the one before. His body is simply too weak and foul. Regardless, his doubts had turned out to be unfounded. He’d stumbled upon you, after all: the perfect lost lamb to guide to Paradise. Someone who he could save.

There had been some unknown factor that drew him to you. You didn’t stand out in a crowd. In fact, it looked like you were trying to pull yourself away from the gazes of others, shoulders slumped and staring at your phone as you walked. You were indifferent to the world, and it returned those feelings. There, he saw a tiny part of himself. Ray couldn’t tear his eyes away from you. Such a pull had to be fate, and nothing else. (Though there were many others that looked to be in similar spirits to you, you were the only one to hook him in such a way. He doesn’t know why. Ray doesn’t like things he doesn’t understand, but to keep feeling like this… He’ll bear it.) 

The two of you are destined to end up together in Paradise. He had been praying for guidance in his mission, and his wish brought him to you. His resolve only strengthened as he watched you struggle through your daily life, hitting low upon low.

Ray switches the camera. You’re a creature of habit, often stopping by the same places. Right now, you’re at the cafe you frequent. He has your entire routine jotted down; habits, hobbies, dislikes, and quirks that make you unique all compiled in a single document. He’s been fleshing it out over the course of multiple days, researching the things you enjoy. It makes his work easier.

You always take the same table, as long as it’s free. Thankfully, the quality is far better inside. He can finally see your new outfit clearly. Ray takes a screenshot, labeling it with the date and time before saving it to a folder named after you. It’s a good thing he’s been allowed to focus more on the tester at the moment, rather than collecting information on the RFA. He’s tried to get you off his mind, but to no avail.

One time, he had asked one of the Believers who was next on schedule for recruitment work to leave a rose on the seat you usually sat. They hadn’t questioned him or, at the very least, not in front of him. (“It’s essential to the mission I received from our Saviour,” he’d said.) You’d actually taken it with you upon finding it, carefully putting it in your bag after spinning it around in between two fingers. You smiled. He could’ve died happy at that moment.

Is it strange to yearn for someone he has never met, or spoken to? Ray likes to think he knows you through the way you present yourself online, and your body language in real life. Sometimes, he likes to pretend you aren’t texting your friends but, rather, responding to him. He’s been finding himself zoning out more and more often, forming a drawn out fantasy. 

Once everything is perfectly prepared, he’ll contact you and you’d come here, entirely trusting his word that everything would be safe. You’d help out with the project. You’d tell him you liked spending time with him more than the RFA. You’d let him guide you by the hand, let him gently push you in the right direction. You’d trust him and stay close with him, forever, that’s the  most important part. 

(He’s been bordering on treacherous thoughts. Deep down, Ray wants you to depend more on him than the Saviour herself. He would be the one who literally brought you to Paradise, rather than her. Couldn’t you go to him for advice…? He wants to look after you, to keep you satisfied and safe. He wants you to thank him.)

It hadn’t been his intention to scroll through hundreds of messages when he hacked your phone. He’d only done it to download the app when all preparations were complete. With all of that information at his fingertips, he couldn’t resist. With every message he read, you became more perfect in his eyes. It’d be difficult to hide that he’s aware of the most private thoughts you had shared online, but he’d have to make do. He’s gotten his hands on a couple of voice messages you left as well, and he’s been listening to them on loop. Not being allowed to contact you yet was already torturous enough. And that was before he knew how wonderful your voice sounded.

Besides your wardrobe, there’s another irregularity in your routine today. This one doesn’t make him perk up. An unfamiliar fact takes the seat opposite of you. 

He’s gathered bits and pieces on your friends, very basic information. In case you were in contact with someone dangerous, he wanted to alert you about it. But whoever this is, he doesn’t recognise them. A stranger? Ray hates unpredictable factors. He wishes the world were as programmable as the code he’s so efficient in, then, everything would run without issue. He wants you to tell him to go. He wants you to leave. You don’t.

You speak to them. You’re having fun, you’re smiling. His chest tightens up all on its own, and Ray doesn’t recognise the feeling. Shouldn’t he… Have been glad? He wants you to be carefree, to look at the world with bright eyes, but this… He sinks his teeth into his finger, sudden and hard, tasting blood. This plan can’t fail. Not for your sake, or his. If, after observing a specific target for so long, he would fail to capture them… He can’t imagine the Saviour’s wrath, which he’d be deserving of after such a great failure. The idea of you slipping through his fingers makes his breathing stuttery. 

Everything is fine. It is, it has to be. This isn’t an issue at all! They can’t grant you the happy ending, the comfort, that he could. You would realise that. He’d never spoken to you before though, and this hits him harder than ever now. You couldn’t possibly know about the salvation heading your way, the lengths he’s gone to orchestrate it. 

Ray’s fingers twitch on the keyboard as he types, and his report on your behaviour is filled with typos. He doesn’t want you to smile at  him like that, doesn’t want you to start growing enamoured with them. People in the outside world are cruel. You’re like them. Too weak and soft for your own good. You’d surely be trampled by the very person you’re now laughing with. He’s sure of it. He needs to get you out of there, and soon. It’s for your own good.

It takes serious effort to close the tab. To put his aching fingers on his keyboard. He’ll turn this pain into motivation to get you by his side as quickly as possible. Salvation is never painless.

top 5 non-dateable (no route, not a LI) cheritz characters?

Ooooh nice question, let's think :0 what are all the Cheritz characters who don't have routes? 🤔ᴴᴹ

Well, in Dandelion, we've got Heejung and Heejae, then in Nameless, we've got Eri, Soi, Shinbi, Zion, Hobin, Yujin and the school Principal. For Mystic Messenger, you've got Rika and Vanderwood and some useless other characters like Echo Girl. And idk too much about Ssum, but I think the only no datable characters I know are Angel and June's relatives

Technically, both Heejung and Eri have routes since they have the common routes, but idc. But that is why I'm counting the Wizard and Nameless as dateable characters. So on w the ranking!!

1. Eri

I love Eri just so fucking much, she's so cute and relatable and autistic and aroacespec and oh my god. I've never related to anyone more than her and I'd have chosen her name if not for wanting a more masculine name like Link. But oh my god, Eri is such a good name tho..

She's such a good main character as well. I love her story and her journey so much and I love her design and everything and aaaaaa-

2. Heejung

What can I say, I love a good main character. I think it's such a shame tbh, Cheritz is so good at making main characters, it's unfortunate they never made any more proper ones for Mystic or Ssum

I don't remember Dandelion too well but I do still love Heejung so much. She is literally just doing what she can and all this shit just keeps piling on top of her n then she keeps just trucking on. I love it

3. I'm gonna have to say. The Principal

He's so funny and sweet and chill. I think he actually knows way more than he lets on

He does have such huge potential that wasn't explored, I wish we could see more of his relationship w Eri, how he looked after her after her grandpa died and acted as the only responsible and reliable adult in her life while she was alone before the dolls came to life

I like him. He kinda reminds me of Winnie the Pooh

you know before we got to see Mephistopheles Actually Talk with Satan is was presented as really impressive that he was the only brother that got along with/was popular with Demonic nobility and like. early on this was paired with his wealth of apparent connections that seemed to come from everywhere. so it seemed like an indicator of how charming and socially skilled he was (and possibly manipulative but eh thats just another social facet in my eyes) bc demonic nobility was implied to be inherently hostile to the brothers.

honestly the funniest moment in xyx’s route is hands down

hc: the brothers, as avatars of sin, are occupying what was supposed to be temporary posts. Demons, even incredibly powerful ones, cannot channel the main input of a primary sin for forever, and it eventually wears them down. In the olden days, new avatars of sin would be found via ambitious demons killing off avatars that were weakened enough to Be Killed.  Now a days though, the devildom has 6 fallen angels specifically cursed to handle a primary sin by their own creator (and one demon that their head of household spawned from sheer excess). These assholes are just. living with their curses, and worse, aren’t showing any signs of going anywhere. Sure, they bicker, but there’s absolutely no chance of getting them to pick each other off through infighting. Worse, if they’re challenged, they show no sign of being weaker than they were- if anything, these freaks are stronger, only having grown into their power and mastery with time.
