Watching till the end of the moon is just making me appreciate LBFAD so much more, the conflict between those two made so much sense and xiao lan hua struggled with it but stood by DFQC and understood him and loved him. The way YXW is acting is driving me insane, it doesn't make sense in the context of the show, idc about the novel,things should make sense in the context of the drama on it's own,this is supposedly an epic love story but one half is constantly betraying the other

LBFAD is amazing and I don't think I would have started TTEOTM if the first had not stolen my whole heart. But they're completely different on so many levels: one is a fairytale, the other is a high fantasy bloody drama, one is a cheerful love story that has some heavy moments and deep themes at the heart, the other is a tragic romance that starts with blood and will probably end the same way, they are not the same at all, I can't compare the two.

Don't get me wrong, I love both in their own way, but they start from different standpoints and their FLs are deeply different too. We don't quite know much about LSS before she became YXW, while we have the whole life and backstory of XLH unraveled for us, their differences are in character also.

I still think TTEOTM is a love story, but a twisted one, the kind where love isn't enough alone, where there is no right thing to do, where one must lose more than the self to win because there is too much at stake. LSS is ready to give up her everything for the greater good, her identity, her love, her life... noble, sure, but the right thing would be for her to fight for her love and the world all the same, to communicate more (and wasn't that the same mistake MY and SJ made?), to try and find a middle ground and she doesn't. Which is probably due to her upbringing, we can't forget she was the daughter of a sect leader, the values they must have instilled in her since childhood are radicated deep down. We did see XLH grow from her prejudices and I really wish LSS will do the same, but I can't see it happening anytime soon and I worry there won't be the chance for her to, if the spoilers I found around are true.

But you're right about some things making no sense without the novel being involved, as someone who didn't read it either I was very confused when LSS went to XL, why would she do that? I can understand LSS jumping to the worst conclusions about TTJ's actions over and over again because she saw him at his worst and most powerful and she's constantly waiting, terrified, for the other shoe to drop and him going full on the dark side, I get it and don't blame her, yet I can't see why would she root for the Shang royal family when she knows they are scum (in the drama, again, which is the only thing that truly matters, the story must make sense on its own!).

In this respect, Qingyu is way more reasonable, he switched sides to save his men and is watching for proof of having made the right choice (and gets them, time and time again), while LSS is slowly starting to look at what's going on with more objectivity... but too slowly! While the time constraint she has (the 300 days that must be less than 200 by now, more or less) makes her antsy! I don't know if the demons being free en masse will mean the Evil Bone will react to them and activate or what (this is the only explanation I could imagine for it) but she's in a rush and that's never good when in delicate situations (that's what tragedies are made of, that's why I can't see a happy ending here, although I hope I'm wrong and there will be one).

Anyway, I still like the show with all its flaws (I liked way lower-quality stuff over time and I'll never deny it) and will follow it until the end, hoping the mistakes so far will be explained/fixed later on. Otherwise, I'll just do what I did before, fics and fandom support.

I’ve been pondering why writing has gotten so difficult for me over the past few months, and I think I can break it down into several factors at this point

the first (and potentially biggest reason) is definitely burnout. or I guess betrayal. idk what term to use. but TBB season 2 literally stomped out the drive and passion I previously had while writing MLWTBB. not only did I become consumed with new ideas from all the new content, but Plan 99 straight up crushed me to the point where it’s been hard to return to the series in general. I used to rewatch an episode of the show at least once or twice a week. I rewatched the first season at least 7-8 times. the show was my entire life, literally. and now… I can honestly say, I haven’t rewatched most of season 2. outside of the first five episodes, “Retrieval”, and “Pabu”, I haven’t rewatched any other episodes. I’ve rewatched certain scenes for gif purposes, but that’s it. quite sad, really. I’m disappointed in myself 😞

another reason is loss of a proofreader for my stories. not gonna get into it, but there's currently only (1) person in the entire world who I trust to proofread my work, and they basically wanted a break from the position. and that hurt me more than I thought it would. I had someone regularly reading my stories and giving me feedback, which I needed. not because I had a ton of errors (although sometimes that's true LOL), but because I had a regular reader. someone who was frequently commenting and discussing my stories with me. and I sorely need that. as far as I know, I don't have any regular readers. I've discussed elements of my stories with other friends but... it's not the same. it's like infodumping about a TV show to someone who's never seen it. sure, I'm getting the info out, but when the other person has seen the content too, it's a much more satisfying feeling. I very much desire both validation and interaction in regard to my stories. I've gotten a few nice comments on some of my work before, but... nothing regular. I don't have any "fans" or anything like that. and... it genuinely sucks 💔

which leads me into my next point. which is something I used to tell myself, and I need to start telling myself again. at the end of the day, nobody will ever be as big of a fan of my stories as myself. I originally wrote MLWTBB for me and me exclusively. I literally only started sharing it publicly because Skylar asked LOL. it's easily become one of the highest achievements of my life, and it's nowhere near finished yet. I realized I started becoming more self-conscious about how I write since posting the series publicly, and I can see it in how I currently write compared to back then. that needs to stop. I'm never gonna get anything finished with that mentality. so I seriously need to adjust my mentality about it. I need to go back to August 2021 when I first started writing it and tell myself "idc if anyone else in the world sees this, I'm writing this story for me". so while I strongly desire (and in some cases, need) the engagement and validation from others... nobody else's opinion matters more than my own. and I too often forget that...

so how do I fix all this? well, the last point is pretty self-explanatory. the solution for that is simply to just write. doesn't matter if the quality is "good enough", I just need to get these dadgum stories out of my head and into concrete words. I think that'll help with the first point as well. writing out more of my interpretations of the characters I hold so dear should help deter from any negative thoughts about the current state of the canon (and hold me off until season 3 comes LOL). as for the middle point, I don't think there's much I can do about that, at least when it comes to MLWTBB. however, I've been planning on opening writing requests for literally weeks now, and I think now might be the time to actually do it. that way, I can at least get that feeling of validation for my writing that I so desperately desire.

one other point I think I need to address is entirely on my part, and it's in relation to the engagement factor. I fully acknowledge that more often than not, engagement on fiction is a two-way street. several of my friends and followers are writers themselves, and I see all the content they put out. but to be perfectly honest, I'm more of a writer than a reader. I'm extremely picky about all the content I consume, which means I don't often have the capacity to engage with fanfiction, no matter who's written it. heck, Ham's had a story I've been meaning to read for months now, and I just haven't ever been able to bring myself to doing it. it's nothing personal!! whoever the author is has literally nothing to do with whether or not I engage with something!! I just honestly, really and truly, am not much of a reader. I enjoy rereading my own stuff... and that's about it. although, I've been gifted stories before, and OMG I treasure those so much. but I think that's because those stories were written for me, as a gift, and all gifts are precious to me. so I guess I need to accept the fact that I probably won't get much engagement on my work simply because I don't engage with others. and that's ok. I'm not hurting anyone by doing this (although if this is a problem for you, please let me know, I don't wanna unintentionally insult or hurt anyone 🥺). and maybe someday, I'll actually get the bug up my butt to finally read the things I promised to read haha

so! all this to say, an attempt will be made to relight the writing spark within me so I can continue my beloved MLWTBB and potentially write some fun stuff for the people who request something from me. I've actually already written a thing for a friend as a test for my upcoming requests, and I can't wait to share that one 😁

writers block be damned!! I'm going to write and continue to write until my brain stops functioning. deal with it, Palpatine 😤

So I had this great MHA fic idea for either an op y/n / oc / midoriya / whoever you wanna stick the quirk with but I hate writing so whoever likes to write can use this.

So the quirk is basically Aoi Todo’s power rom Jujutsu Kaisen which has so much potential in that show as well but I love my hero fixit fix’s lately.

Anyways for those who don’t know when Aoi Todo claps he can switch places with any person or he can switch the places of any 2 people.

I think a mha character with this quirk could get up to a lot of shenanigans and is of course super op and because of this, the scenario I’m thinking would never happen but idc I do what I want.

Allow me to lay the scene for you, y/n is UA Student on a mission, and they get into sticky situation, aka a fight with Dabi and they are about to die b/c ya know them flames be very toasty. Well they were gonna just switch with Dabi again but then they get this wave of anger about all for one (for whatever reason you may choose) and so they switch with him instead of Dabi ( I know there should be a distance from which they can switch with some one but idc) well Dabi doesn’t notice the change because he’s just trying to burn y/n up so he just hammers out his fiery hot anger on, unbeknownst to him, all for one(AFO (I’m getting sick typing that out)) this somehow kills him (no I will not explain how this happens the writers can deal with it).

Y/n meanwhile is in AFO’s lair wondering where the hell they are be, figures it out and just starts letting loose on the place destroying everything they can. Eventually they awaken some of the nomu and are like shit, that is one fish that I can’t fry so they swap back to where they were before with, let’s say it to together now, an inanimate object bc idc about rules. They end up seeing the end of Dabi burning up AFO, like 🫢 I think I did my job a little to well. Dabi eventually leaves ones he confirms that ‘y/n’ is dead. Y/n now trying to figure wtf to do with body of the worst villain calls up tsukauchi for a favor. Y/n knows that Dabi going to tell the remaining league that he’s them so they make AFOs body a decoy leaving behind some remnants of dna for anyone who decides to check out Dabis story ( also don’t ask about how they left dna idk and idc this is my story I do what I want even it defies all laws of the universe). Y/n’s favor from Tsukauchi comes though and he retrieves the body knowing that y/ns still actually alive and puts out a statement saying that they found the body of y/ns hero name. Y/n of course attempting to cover all their bases calls nedzu and like yeah you’re gonna see on the news soon that I’m dead but Im obviously not I just need certain people to think i am. (nedzu being nedzu agrees and gives them an address for a hideout for them to stay until thinks blow over). With both phone calls (on burner phone, they let tsukauchi and nedzu know about the nomu, that the body is AFOs, and them being the only ones aware of there status of being alive so far. They of course freak out about this but being the pros that they are they ‘keep there calm’)They also try to call Aizawa but it goes straight to voicemail (cause he’s mourning over y/ns lose like the rest of UA) they leave a voicemail thinking that Nedzu would let him know (he doesn’t (for whatever reason you may fill in here) but basically so we are clear y/n is under the assumption that all of there class and Aizawa + other important people know they aren’t actually dead, spoiler they don’t. ). Anyways y/n stays at the hideout for a while which is honestly pretty nice and has snacks and stuff so no complaints. During this time there funeral has been held (unbeknownst to them since they hate watching and has been staying off of socials incase anyone tracks there activities).

At the same time the league have found out that AFO is missing the nomu are running rampant/captured or killed by hero’s and finds the lair/lab destroyed. Luckily y/n manages to wait out about 2 weeks after death before the return to the school which by the way the think that the necessary people have been told of there alive status which they haven’t for whatever reason you may fill in now. Anyways they get into the school w/out any issues because it’s the weekend so no one’s really around and nedzu, but once they walk into the commons where all of class 1-a is In the main room watching the news, playing games, etc everyone freaks out for obvious reasons. Some come to the conclusion that it’s toga, others thinks it’s one of twices clones and some think there just hallucinating y/n again. Those who think it’s a villain attack which y/n can evade since they know how they fight and the class is hesitant on instinct. Eventually y/n pins someone to the ground and is like “back the f up unless you want me to break this one’s arm” (or smthing) Aizawa and nedzu take this opportunity to walk in on this mess (for reasons of your choosing). Aizawa comes to similar conclusions as the rest of the class and erases y/ns quirk to see if it’s toga which ofc it’s not but before Aizawa can do anything else Nedzu takes control of the situation, gets y/n to let go of there ‘hostage’, and doesn’t let anyone attack them as they go to the room (angry bc there friends attack them and they don’t know way) Nedzu wanted y/n to stay and hear his explanation as well but y/n still walked off to which Nedzu let happen bc he understood why they were angry. Nedzu ofc then explains to everyone most everyone that actually happened in the past 2 weeks except for the decoy body being AFO. The class is distraught that they just attacked there own friend and want to go comfort them but feel like the don’t get to do that anymore. Aizawa understands this and doesn’t push them but does go himself (so this is a large part of where I’m bad at writing but I am thinking Ike fluff and comfort and happy the you’re alive and back is the vibe here also I’m thinking that the fact the y/n was thought to be dead by there class mates and aizawa just doesnt come up probay bc aizawa seens it as a sensitive topic and y/n is angry about being attacked and doesn’t want to talk about it)

anyways after talking with aizawa for a while about there latest mission y/n decides to get there anger out by going to the support students class rooms to hang out with hatsume (yes they are friends) and make any adjustments to there suit that they need too. They have a sweet heartfelt reunion and y/n is surprised that she didn’t know that they were alive but didn’t say anything. While there Mei learns that y/n was attacked by there class. She however doesn’t really understand why y/n is mad because Mei knows that y/ns class thought they were dead but doesn’t know that y/n doesn’t know. She urges y/n to forgive her class while intentionally steering around the being dead since Mei also sees it as sensitive topic. Y/n eventually says something like “ I don’t get it though I came back from my mission just like any other mission It wasn’t like i died or something but no they just all attacked me like some sick prank” (so I don’t know if this next scene is in character for Mei so pls call me out on it). this of course makes Mei realizes what’s happen and says something like “you don’t know…. Oh my god…” and then starts to cry. Y/n attempts to comfort her but isn’t very good at it. They also ask what’s he’s talking about but doesn’t get a response so she eventually calls over one of Mei’s classmates who can comfort her and power loader who y/n explains what’s happening too. Power loader also realizing what Mei did calls Aizawa gives him a short but alarming explanation about the situation and tells y/n that it’ll all be explained in a minute and they should go back and help comfort Mei. Shortly after Aizawa is there and sits y/n down and tells them that everyone but Nedzu thought they were dead. For a moment y/n stars at him blank face for a moment then a single tear rolls down there cheek and they wipe it away but then another comes down and they wipe that away too but they keep coming, aizawa gives them a soft look and wraps them in a hug, rubbing there back as y/n sobs uncontrollably. (That’s the best you’re getting out of me) aizawa being all knowing understands just what y/n needs rn and picks them and brings them back to the dorms. Everything (but AFO) is explained everyone’s happy untiiiiilllll Kaminari, Mina, or someone ask, “so who’s body did we use in the funeral and cremate then?” And y/n starts to say who it was but then Tsukauchi and is sleep deprived self over not being able to tell anyone that y/n is alive slams open the door and screams “YOU USED THE BODY OF AFO A YOUR DECOY BODY?!?!?!” Everyone’s shocked no one says anything until y/n chirps up and is like “yeah I thought I told you??”(they did not) tsukauchi then starts trying to say something but nothing comes out for a few minutes (like that one scene from the Big Bang theory with Leonard Sheldon and Amy when Leonard finds out Sheldon returned the super Mario brothers the movie, the scene is linked down below but also keep in mind the that Tsukauchi doesn’t have the same level of animosity to anyone in the room nor does he rip of his shirt and put ice packs on his chest, only the flabergasted is what I’m thinking) everyone else then freaks out and aizawa is just like ‘what’ and has no words. Nedzu who is watching from his many cameras is cackling in his office, I’m not sure why but feel like tsukauchi is crying at this point and someone idc who but some definitely says “ooh plot twist” probably Aoyama.

Genshin’s Impact on Mixshroom.

A/N: My first post in Tumblr.

Idc about anything other than typing this out while the app’s updating so-

I’d be using my username from the game here so don’t think this a Reader x Self Aware Genshin rather, an Author x Self Aware Genshin story.

This is mostly my experience with Genshin from the first day till recent.

And what my characters might be feeling during this experience.

I’m not doing Yandere. I hate that genre.

And shoo-shoo if you’re looking for self-inserts, ‘cause this is not for you.

{1} The beginning of it all

Aether felt himself being re-created. Again.

He could feel the wind brushing him leaving a light tingle on his skin.

He had felt this before but now, it was different.

He felt a little more alive.

He opened his eyes and the sight before him remained the same.

White pillars stood as they were shrouded by the clouds, with the sky dark as ever.

With the moonlight shining down on them, accompanied by the song that has been played once in this device they’re currently residing in.

It was night at theirs, he supposed.

He looked around and noticed his relative beside him, peeking at the edge of the platform they’re standing on.

It was clear that the user had finally entered the app and is waiting for the download to finish.

He looked at his gloved hands and clenched it, readying himself for the upcoming selection of [PLAYER]’s main vessel.

Not just him- His twin sister, Lumine- that stood beside him, is also preparing herself. Fixing her head dress and dusting any possible dirt that might’ve caught onto her during the time the app had not operated.

After months of the installer just sitting there, waiting to be launched the user had finally opened it again.

The first attempt of the user. The download was slow.... very very slow, but that didn’t put out the determination of the user of finally playing this game.

It took a WHOLE day before the launch button had finally became clickable.

The mouse hovered over the yellow button, the user and the beings in-game anxiously waited for any signs of interruption and after a minute or so they finally clicked it.

Both sides smiled with glee as the user screamed and bragged to they’re current chatmate that they’re finally gonna play and main ‘Venti’ or whatevs.

But the moment was short lived when a few minutes later that processing has stopped infinitely and remained that way whenever the user tried to re-launch the app.

The user tried countless times but the launcher still refused to continue the progress it currently has, so the user had to do what the in-game beings were afraid of.

1. Clear the current files and re-download them all again or,

2. Just give up and play Roblox.

It was disappointing to say the least,

The decision they chose was disappointing.

Obviously, for the in-game beings, they’d pick the first option since it’s them, the user has a massive amount of admiration and obsession with the game, the story, the characters, them.

They have a fair amount of lore pictures compiled in a folder, with it almost being reviewed every day.

A LOT of Venti and Diluc pictures to which most were jealous.

But that doesn’t prove much ‘cause clearly they don’t really know much about them other than those countless peculiar images in the device; a blonde haired child that seems to always carry a gun and a lot of this brown haired teen that has a red gauntlet and fire on his forehead. The user deeply treasured these two people, they’ve noticed.

But they didn’t really expect for the user to just flat-out give up the progress they had with the game.

They haven’t started playing yet, yes- But they had been waiting for a WHOLE DAY just for this experience.

So when the user, hopefully and desperately, this time had re-downloaded the app’s file they were ecstatic to the roof.

It became the headlines for the playable’s, apparently.

They went digging very thoroughly in both the device’s storage and deleted an absurd amount of useless files and data, unknowingly having some of the in-game beings encouraging them. (A/N: Cough*Homework*Cough*Module*Cough*)

And thankfully, they had successfully annihilated each and every hidden threat to the game.

So this time both sides are praying to whoever Gods exists in either worlds for this time to work.

Although both of the twins could vaguely hear the sound of pleading from the other side to Barbatos-

They stood there, anxiously waiting for the user to finish the verifying while listening to their whispers of doubt and encouragement.

Their whispers started to get louder that became a cheer that even the other in-game beings weren’t able to contain their excitement and decided to join along the chanting.

Both twins heard a loud SLAP* and guessed the user is probably praying so they did so too.

With their hands clasped together, they along with the in-game characters had repeated the same word over, over again.

“Please work. Please let me in. Please work-”

“Please work, Please let them in, Please work-”

After a few minutes of waiting with the user’s voice getting louder and louder...

[PLAYER] or rather, [Mixshroom], has finally entered the doors behind them.

“YES I’M FINALLY IN!!”

They happily announced to none other than the in-game beings to which they celebrated.

“YES!! THEY CAME HOME!!”

“THEY’RE FINALLY IN!!-”

“IT WORKED!! I KNEW IT-”

“SEE MR. ZHONGLI!! I TOLD YOU!!-”

“WELCOME!! I CAN’T WAIT-!!”

As the in-game beings continued to celebrate in their own ways, they’d finally experience what an open-world game feels like.

If only [Mixshroom] could hear what they’re saying, they’d be over the moon.

*gently lifts my totally coherent and real list of hcs* yes Warning that this gets VERY long bc I put on my Irving playlist halfway through and my brain went into half ramble mode half many thoughts mode. I also just have so many thoughts on Irving

Starting off by once again promoting my 'Irving has a brother and sister' hc

Irving handles character correction/role assignments (and also would be the brawns/strength in the trio, working mostly with the Combat Arena X folks but just overall anything Lionel related). His brother (Sterling) handles punishments (got lazy with sol and just handed that off to Irving) and uses magic (he's the beauty of the trio by default. The charismatic one) and then his sister (Eleanor) handles all the logistics/diagnostics/bug fixes and doesn't properly work with game characters, though has files on all Gmaeworks-owned/associated characters (she's the brain of the trio) [sectioned off from the others so this is easier to read]

Gay and homophobic

No one gets rights but him. He's the only gay person allowed.

Before the "Lionel wants this" incident, Reggie was adamently trying to befriend Irving. It never worked, Irving never cared for him. At fucking all

Irving, watching Bryce train: Haha I hope this doesn't awaken anything in me

It did

I'm sorry, but him getting super excited and then just going "*clears throat* I mean good. Anyways so-" feels so fucking gay to me. You cant convince me otherwise idc how much he likes violence. That was AT LEAST a teeny bit gay. Fruity, even.

Was constantly 5 seconds away from fucking killing someone in the Combat Arena X cast. He may like fighting, but he's very happy Lionel ended up selling the franchise, he can't deal with ANY of those idiots again

Doesn't honestly understand why he's so devoted to keeping Lionel happy and alive. As far as he's aware, nothing happened, and he doesn't think of Lionel as anything more than one of his bosses, so he doesn't get it

Ik the original line from Catarina was about Jeremiah, but the line "An unswerving loyalty to his master. Must be hard-coded." also makes me think of Irving with Lionel. Like,,,everything Irving does is for Lionel in some way. He punishes the characters that destroy Lionel's career, even killing other characters to make it happen. He 'gets rid of' Reggie. He warns him of the stolen artifact. There's gotta be SOMETHING going on

Is. Somehow not aware his other boss (Lou) is the devil. It just. hasn't clicked for him.

Was recreated/revived after The Hex's finale by Lou, though he now adamantly avoids the Six Pint Inn.

On that note, doesn't understand how trauma/mental illness works

"Yeah my uneasiness about going back to the inn is just me being careful, considering what happened last time. Nothing more."

The thought of it makes him spiral a little. Sir please look up what a panic attack is im BEGGING you. Same with mentioning going there. ;)

Also his dead body is still very much so buried behind the inn. So, technically he's just,,,a remade version?? The sequel. Irving part 2 electric boogaloo. Same personality and memories, though. So, nothing changed, he just has trauma now

Overlooked the work done on Inscryption when he wasn't helping Lionel. Was overworked, but never really,,,noticed it was happening. He just noticed he was extra tired and then never acknowledged it again

Was sent to solely overlook the development of Inscryption once Lionel was dead. Wasn't given much time to move on

At this point, all the basic coding had been done, as work on Inscryption (or at least Kaycee helping develop it) had started at some point at the same time as Waste World's development in my hcs. I'll write up a proper timeline for my hcs eventually. But yeah, he was just sent to watch over the characters and make sure they all stayed in line

His cruelty and devotion (to Lionel, obv) were coded into his AI by Lou. It wasn't Lou's first time fucking around with programs after all, and fucking around with something that was purely an ai was much easier than something that was once alive

The devotion was coded in during Lionel's time making games for Gamefuna, so at some point during Combat Arena X or Secrets of Legendaria. The incident with Reggie was purely cruelty based, and was Irving twisting Lionel's words to fit his own goals

This was kicked into high gear shortly after SoL's failure

Constantly struggling with Sado. She's both exactly like him and the exact opposite to him at the same time. They're both sadistic, sentient programs that don't care for the lives they endanger. But while Irving strives to protect Lionel, Sado strives to destroy him, whatever that may entail.

Was unfortunately busy with Inscryption due to Lionel's lack of progress when Sado invaded Waste World, and was in all unable to stop the damage that happened with that game. Found out about it shortly after the damage had already been done, and sought to capture Sado, no matter what.

Obviously, though, she got freed. That mixed with the stolen artifact just stressed him the fuck out, but protecting Lionel had to come before dealing with his own stress, even if that inevitably became his downfall

His devotion was actually coded in by Lou bc Lou kinda realized after making a deal with Carla that he was putting Lionel's life in danger, and. Well. *Looks at my Lou and Barry pre-canon hcs*

Taking a less pre-canon dependent approach, his devotion could honestly just also be that Lionel's one of the very few that are earning Gamefuna money, even if Gamefuna's games suck. So, if Lionel dies, they lose one of their best programmers.

Either way, Irving's devoted to Lionel purely because Lou wants him to be

hello anon my beloved, I am in a bad mood so you will be receiving a passionate, yet lowkey of pissy rant about why villainizing bakugou makes me wanna vomit and its NOT just because I'm a dumbass kinnie :)

tws: child abuse (emotional and physical), near death expierences, bullying, kidnapping, suffocation, lots of trauma in general tbh. if you've seen bnha then basically just keep all the general triggering plot stuff in mind incase i missed any warnings

also, note: I havent caught up on bnha in a minute, I'm at like the start of the war arc but I barely remember shit there tbh so like. probs missing new stuff. also bnha spoiler warnings lol

so, for starters, the homie bakugou has like,, a good handful of issues that come from his childhood that explain why he's an ass. he was always praised and never actually reprimanded for being a twat which led to him having a huge ego that ended up fucking him over majorly. this ego was something that his mother acknowledged him having, but literally didnt try to fix it with anything other than violence. see here:

like, instead of trying to help him, she hits and insults him, which is probably what led to his weird inferiority/superiority complex. being constantly told by others that you're outstanding and one day you'll be a top hero because you're rude and aggressive and then going home and being hit by your mother for those exact same behaviors is bound to fucking confuse a child.

so like, now that we've established that its definetly canon that his mother (parents? I think he said parents at some point but masaru doesn't seem like the type so 🤷) hits him though we don't know how much or how often (though if bakugou was as much of a little shit back then ((which as far as we've seen- he was)) then it was probably often), lets talk about how regardless of all that 1) hitting your kids as "discipline" not only doesn't work but is abusive lol like idc if it's spanking/popping them on the mouth for talking shit, slapping them across the face "on occasion", etc. shits not okay 2) hitting your kids!!!! does not work!!!!!!!! it is literally PROVEN not to work!!!!!!!! hitting a child who has done something wrong doesnt teach them to stop doing something it teaches them to be scared of you, which will cause the child to withdraw, removing part of their support system (assuming said abusive parents would even offer that up) and will most likely lead to them thinking they're a bad person, not that their actions were bad, which are two different things. so, ya know, that would clearly have an effect on a kid. like, as someone with a mother who reminds me all too much of mitsuki: I have acted like a complete shitbag and taken my anger out on people to feel better in the past because of the way my mother treated me. though it was nowhere near what bakugou did, I still know first fucking hand what a mother hitting and insulting her child will do, especially if they have no proper outlet for that (friends, a safe place to vent) which bakugou never fucking had.

theres also the fact that just talking to your kid the way mitsuki does (saying it's his fault he was kidnapped because he's weak, all while hitting him) is not??? okay?????? ive seen people arguing that this was just a joke in poor taste but like her son was KIDNAPPED and even if it was a "joke" there's literally NO WAY that would EVER?? BE FUNNY??????? she just sounds like the kind of parent who at the very least says shit without thinking that would traumatize bakugou (because being told right after being kidnapped it's your fucking fault by your mother is absolutely traumatizing) but it comes across as her being emotionally abusive.

mitsukis character as a whole comes across as a shitty mom who doesn't realize she's a shitty mom and thinks bakugou being an ass isn't at least partially her fault even though she's admitted to realizing he has always had an ego problem and doing nothing to fix it except for hitting and yelling which obviously did nothing but make him just as loud and violent as she is.

this is obviously not the entire reason why he's a dick but he was never properly taught that the shit he was doing wasn't okay and people not stopping it and/or praising him endlessly even tho he was a bully is basically the same as encouraging it, thank you very much.

moving on from that, let's talk about bakugous other traumas and how he naturally responds to them. hint: it's with either full blown panic or a fight response (verbal or physical, though usually physical. also sometimes it's the panic followed by the fight response.)

so far in bnha (keep in mind that I am not caught up, I've only read up to the beginning of the war arc and i barely remember those bits so) bakugou has...

nearly died via sludge villain (he was unable to move and was being suffocated to death- keep this in mind)

lost for the first time ever and against deku of all people (this nearly sent him into a full blown panic attack, likely because of that sexy little inferiority/superiority complex combo. think of this as like. gifted kid burnout lite. he has always been the best of the best and now suddenly he is being beaten by somebody who has always been weaker than him, which immediately makes him start thinking he was never actually that good, he's actually a fucking failure, a goddamn fraud)

won the sports festival by default (bakugou counts this as yet another failure because todoroki didnt try his best. had bakugou lost to todoroki full strength, he would've taken 2nd place with a bit of bitching, but he still wouldve taken it rather than refuse the medal as it would be a reminder that he failed. instead of accepting that like UA shouldve, the staff chained and muzzled him on live television and then had all might, his fucking idol, force the medal into his mouth. remember the sludge villain incident and how he couldnt move and was suffocating to death? yeah.)

been kidnapped because of the way he reacted to winning during the sports festival (he was aggressive and tried to refuse the medal because he felt he didnt deserve it and was then retraumatized by being chained up and muzzled. his "villainous attitude" was a fucking trauma response, do not tell me otherwise)

was then chained up once again by the LOV after being kidnapped,,, do we see the "retraumatize bkg" theme yet?

"ended all might" (he literally blames himself for all mights retirement because had he just not have been weak, all might wouldve had more time, right?)

my point with all of these is that bakugou has been severely traumatized and has then had his trauma responses (aggression, fight) used to further demonize him. not all people with trauma react the fucking same and the way the fandom just refuses to acknowledge anger as a valid form of trauma response is gross as hell.

moving away from that topic, bakugou has literally never had any actual friends, they all just used him and didn't care about him which absolutely will fuck up a kid, especially one who already has all that other shit going on. bakugou deadass never had a support system or people to help him grow as a person, let alone properly work through his fucking emotions so it's not surprising that he would take out his bullshit on the one person who tried to help him especially considering he saw dekus actions as him thinking he was weak. bakugou was raised to not seek help, he thought somebody strong shouldnt ever need it, so for somebody like deku (who bakugou percieved as weak and helpless already) to offer up help? deku must obviously think bakugou is even weaker than him, what other explanation could their possibly be!

speaking of which, there's his heaps of insecurities that he basically hid by being a twat and bullying others for most of his life. kid was so insecure he bullied deku for fucking years cause he thought deku looked down on him, thought he was better than him, etc. and that only got worse bc his idol then decided to take deku in, train him and even give him his quirk. there's probably some shit im missing but still he's got issues and always has had issues. that being said, he's actually improving and working them out now which is what makes him a really good, interesting character. it's also nice to see a character who is a dick without some tragic backstory (like his backstory is sad but its not the classic "my family was fucking slaughtered and i turned into a raging bitch who murders people" type shit) bc that rarely happens and it's like most assholes don't actually have a story like that they're just assholes lol

now lets talk improvement! lil bitch has been getting better since he got into UA and im so happy abt it!! he had a rough start what with deku suddenly having a quirk and all but like he is really improving now and it highkey shows that bakugou just mostly needed people who 1) didn't constantly praise him and actually criticized him instead 2) actually fucking punished him doing stupid shit and 3) some motherfucking friends

Since going to UA he's gotten actually feedback from teachers about his weaknesses and how to get stronger, he's lost against others, hes been told he has a shit attitude and is a dick, told he should be nicer and leave deku alone, etc etc. He hasn't gotten in trouble too much with teachers but others give him shit for what he does and aizawa has punished him too, while still acknowledging that bakugou is an amazing and dedicated student, something which no one else had done up til that point. and uh???? homie actually has friends who like,,, don't use him and also call him out when he's a dick. like specifically kirishima has done this shit and him and bakugous relationship is clearly very healthy and beneficial for the both of them. makes me feel all happy n shit, ya know

bottom line is: while it is absolutely valid to dislike or even hate bakugou because he is a massively flawed person who has been very cruel to others, villainizing him for the way he acts which in large part seems to be from a lack of guidance, a shitty mother and heavy amounts of trauma, is fucking awful. his actions cannot be fucking excused, he needs to apologize and continue to grow, but he is also a fucking teenager, who is just now being told that the way he acts is unacceptable by people who dont fucking abuse him (and I swear to god if any people who think mitsuki isnt abusive interact with this fucking post I will fullstop hardblock you, I do not fucking care) and actually treat him like a normal person instead of some prodigy child or someone who needs to be fixed.

people are free to debate my points or whatever bc I know some of this stuff is up to interpretation but like. dni if you're just here to say you hate bakugou for xyz reason or that he's irredeemable. also especially dni if you compare him to fucking endeavor yall bitches make me gag.

ahaha. this got. super complex and way too long and more of like an introspective study to puffy now instead of harmless fun headcanons so, uh. under read more <3 (also reminder this is all /rp and /dsmp)

* i like to think that she has a hero complex, but its a bit different since she never really sees herself as an ‘important’ part of the story, not the main character but a support one, hence ‘im fine with being the side character’ or how she’s said she doesnt care what happens to her and would gladly sacrifice(?) herself if there werent other people she had to protect. girl u need therapy urself <3

* though very open with how she feels and never afraid to say when someone/something is upsetting her, ‘opening up’ is still a whole mountain climb for her, apparently. like, she’d rant about the egg, get mad at the eggpire, let off some steam by committing arson or exploding stuff, she’ll rarely ever talk about how much the stuff that upset her actually HURT her. does that make sense? LIKE, she’ll lash out, she’ll get mad, she’ll take NO SHIT thrown at her face, but to show the kinda vulnerability of dealing with that? to cry about it talk about those feelings with someone? I think she’d rather eat her own foot lol

* adding onto the thing above, she doesnt necessarily actually realize this about herself. less of actively doing it and rather growing... used to the ‘cycle of violence’ in the smp as they call it. and the fact that rarely have people really asked, that no one’s actually available for that, w her losing her closest friends, bad and ant, sam being busy w the warden stuff... and niki. yeah. there’s foolish, but i doubt she’d ever see venting to someone she considers her son appealing

* also. puffy is just sometimes... really bad at conveying sadness. i think she’s a rare crier. id go as far to say that shes even more emotionally constipated than dream, lol (but maybe not while the guy’s in his prison arc) and that she’d be the type of person to tell you its okay to cry but beat herself up over something if she let a tear slip in a heated moment

* speaking of sadness. she’ll only ever actually Be Sad if she’s alone or with someone she doesnt necessarily care the opinions of. yknow how she mourned for tommy and blamed herself? those dialogue bits? yeah, those are only times shed actually be vulnerable

* puffy’s go to response to the egg and how its fucked up her relationship w her friends is pure fury. but, going off of her line about ‘failing bad and ant’ i like to think that she probably hates herself the most about it. THAT IS A STRONG WORD LOL BUT YEAH. she yells and curses and gets mad, but sometimes i wonder if the words she had spat before were more directed to herself

* THIS GIRL HAS SELF-IDENTITY PROBLEMS. CAN WE GET A HELL YEAH FOR THAT CHAT? outside of having no goddamn clue about where she came from, how she got here and who she even is, scrounging up a role for herself in a server with a war on the background and traumatized kids got her resignedly coerced into thinking that she is only a Parent. Only good enough when she’s actually doing something Useful for people. SO. when she finds that ship? of having a crew and having a curse? OF FINDING OUT SHE MIGHT HAVE/ HAVE HAD A MOM THATS WAITING FOR HER? the sense of control she has on herself is absolutely crushed. shattered, and she’s left to pick up the pieces w no one to talk abt it with <3

* adding onto the above, it’s why the line ‘I’m supposed to be mama puffy. me.’ hurts me so much! so yes! please cry with me :D

* also to add more on the fact that she thinks she’s only worth something when she’s being useful, puffy literally contemplated leaving the server, thinking that it wouldnt matter leaving since no one really needs her anyway, since she’s failed so many people. bad and ant, tommy, dream. shes said how foolish can take care of himself on how tubbo and ranboo have each other, how she and niki have drifted so far away from each that it might as well be a break up.

HOOOOOOOOOO OBOY . anon youve really given me the perfect chance to ramble huh? sorry for the rather incomprehensible brainrot, here’s more lighthearted headcanons about puffy asdhfkd

* she cannot stand still sometimes. she always has to be doing something extra, walking when the prime path is right there? shed rather go through tedious little holes or hop and balance onto fences to get where shes going. she’ll mindlessly fix up the path when there are holes or mismatched wood, and one time went on a long, long LONG journey cleaning up the paths tommy purposely DESTROYED near lmanburg and even added cobblestone sidings which werent there before

* puffys a bit of a sentimental person. writing in her log to clear her thoughts sometimes and cared enough to try and preserve lmanburg with the glass sheet and trying to find possible surviving artifacts of history to respect it, even though she’s never been a part of it. its also why, when doomsday happened and lmanburg got permanently poofed, she began to appreciate the buildings that are still standing and began taking more pics

* she’s not used to being... what do you call it, um, cared for? she’d deflect compliments sometimes, when shes having a particular bad day, like, she’d laugh nervously and change the subject, sometimes she’d outright deny it, most days she’d jokingly say ‘staphhh it’ and add a very genuine thanks. my point being is, do something for puffy that is mildly nice and she’d keep that moment in her heart forever.

* also funny story regarding the above. u know how karl is notorious for stealing her materials? and how puffy was contemplating doing something in retaliation for them? karl says hi for once when she joins the server and she goes ‘alright fine youre safe for saying hi’ LOL THIS WAS PROBABLY A BIT META WISE but something about this implying that the bare minimum or LESS is enough to make puffy forgive someone is very sad and funny at the same time for me. girl really said ‘oh you said hi to me? thats nice all the crimes youve ever done towards me is now forgiven. <3’ (this is a bit of an exaggeration on my part, ofc, i just think its funny LMAO)

* ironically, despite being the ‘captain’, whenever riding a boat with someone, she prefers being on the backseat and letting them drive. ig shes just there for the ride i suppose, her and her uber drivers :3

* she either has a rather unhealthy obsession with baked potatoes or she just doesnt wanna waste eret’s massive potato farm

* idc what cc!puffy says is c!puffy will always and forever be 5′2″ in my HEART. u are the shortest member, u cannot change this <3

* shes really fond of animals/ neutral mobs. she often baby talks to them and they help boost her mood a lot when shes having a bad day :D

* up to this day, the little secret rooms she’s created around the server have all been yet to be discovered, unless the one under bad’s house has been found. she rarely ever really keeps tabs on them, and more often than not they are just collecting dust. she still visits sometimes and cleans them up ofc

* she still genuinely thinks dream can change. cc!puffy’s line about that, ‘i’m his last hope.’ really makes me think about this a lot.

* ive seen people talk abt it a bit but the headcanon that puffy acts as the server mom to fill the ‘void’ of her missing her mom makes me cry at night /hj

* she really likes her rainbow onesie! i headcanon that eret gave her that along w the sunglasses, but she started wearing that less when she found her old captains uniform. shes never really said why, though, and nobody ever really bothered to ask

* god bless this woman but sometimes the server members get on her nerves sometimes so she goes out of her way to traverse along far away from the main community to maybe commit a few crimes. let off some steam. these take a few days but she always returns

dude dekus just so fucking annoying 😭

his character type reminds me somewhat of gon from hxh or tohru from fruits basket (and those are actually two of my favorite characters) because they are all supposed to be fairly innocent/pure hearted/sweet/always say the right thing to ppl but deku just falls short imo because it’s like the writers just decided not to give him any flaws?? like gon and tohru were both pretty naive and not too bright but they were kind to everyone and tried to help in whatever way they could which made them really likable to me!! but deku’s only character flaw is that he doesn’t have a quirk, which is literally solved in like the first or second episode. i guess you could count the fact that he cries easily as a flaw, and although i do find that to be annoying, i think that the creators probably did that to show how emotional he is or how much he cares or something idk. so i don’t think it was meant to be a flaw in the first place.

he also just gets everything he wants really easily. i know ppl are gonna argue w this bc he was bullied and he worked hard to obtain his quirk and he’s struggled to control his quirk etc but idc lol. yeah he was bullied but really the only scene where we saw this was in ep1 when he was in middle school and the kids laughed at him for wanting to apply to UA hero course and when bakugo told him to kill himself and threw his journal away. those scenes didn’t really make me empathize with deku though because they were already framed as mean bully kids picking on a guy who’s obviously in the right. and they were over in like two seconds anyway.

did he work hard to obtain his quirk? yeah i guess, but it all happened offscreen again so why should i care. yeah he showed his bravery when he helped saved bakugo from the sludge villain but then he’s immediately being rewarded by all might offering to pass down ofa to him. and pretty much all his efforts to prepare himself to inherit ofa were shown in a montage offscreen which doesn’t really give any emotional impact or show how hard he worked?

controlling his quirk is also shown to be hard for him because he ends up breaking his bones but we also know that he’s going to be fixed immediately after by recovery girl so there’s not really any risk :/ then when he’s told he might sustain permanent damage, he just switches to using his legs instead (which to me was an obvious solution anyway?) and everything is fine again. his powers also allow him to just beat up any villain he wants as long as he’s fine with breaking some bones so we already know he’s gonna win any fight he starts…

it’s even the same with minor plots like his love life. ochako starts liking him at first sight without any sort of build up, and because of the conventions of the shonen genre, it’s basically guaranteed that they’ll end up together, it’s just a matter of when. other girls just throw themselves at him too.. like toga and hatsume just sort of flirt with him or are naked in front of him or press their boobs against him as soon as they meet him when he’s already shown to be a very awkward guy so it just doesn’t make any sense for why they would do that.. it also just makes him really unrelatable because he doesn’t put any sort of effort in to make these girls like him they just flock to him lmao.

these are just my opinions though; i know some ppl really like him. so feel free to disagree if u want or add on idrc lol. also lemme know if i got anything wrong because it’s been awhile since i’ve watched mha (especially the scenes at the very beginning)

I don’t think I have to change much in the first two seasons, thankfully, since the writers actually sat down to think about what they were writing at the time but g o d did it go to hell afterwards

Season 3 - This Zane focused season is going to be ZANE FOCUSED DAMN IT. We’re focusing on his loss over his Father, having salt rubbed in the wound by having his father’s work turned into an evil army, and being faced with the fact he’s obsolete compared to it all. He keeps trying to stack up numbers to win, recalculate things, and it’s why his line at the ending ACTUALLY has impact. The thing that sets him apart from the nindroids, his ability to love, is what allows him to defeat the Overlord.

Jay, Cole and Nya love triangle is DESTROYED. Pixal, Zane and Cole is the new love triangle and later OT3

Season 4 - The explanation for the other EMs being around is far less stupid. Garmadon establishes that oh yeah all of your parents had elemental powers and even talks about a few of them because holy SHIT. Cole mentions his mom because he should have done that a g e s ago. Is this supposed to be a Kai season doesn’t feel like it. Open the season with better explanations of why the ninja split. Emphasis the fact that Kai blames himself for what happened to Zane, and continues to do so throughout the season. Add that to why he’s so desperate to save Skylor from her dad (not willing to lose someone else). We still lose Garmadon, Kai and Lloyd have a talk at the end of the season. Also ZANE IMMEDIATELY GOES TO GET PIXAL A NEW BODY WTHHH????

Season 5 - Idk this season was pretty good over all I think. A bit better lore established into the cloud kingdom, hints that they don’t actually control fate they just think they do. Explain where the FUCK NIMBUS CAME FROM?? Water can still beat up ghosts but idk feel like there should be some other factors involved, some magic. Kai and Zane figure out they can make water a LOT sooner. Also why doesn’t Kai just set the preeminent’s house armor on fire??? Should have. OH I did forget since this season is supposed to be for NYA GETTING HER WATER ELEMENT how about she actually GO WITH THE NINJA AND DO SOME SHIT SOMETIMES??? I don’t mind her training, specially Ronin helping her but like??? Wtf why not have her ENGAGE, idiots.

Season 6 - I’m the weirdo who actually likes season 6 but that doesn’t mean it’s not without its issues. I don’t mind Jay wondering about where he stands with Nya but his behavior throughout the season has to stay consistent. When he agrees with Nya he needs to let it go he needs to LET IT GO. IT LITERALLY SHOULDN’T BE BROUGHT UP AGAIN UNTIL THE LIGHTHOUSE. He also needs to linger more on his birth father (and besides he should have suspected he’s adopted since season 4 cause he knows neither of his parents had lightning powers). Zane doesn’t ignore Pixal’s warning about Nadakhan but if she’s off somewhere else idk how she gets threatened I’m sure Nadakhan could figure it out. OH and time can still reset and stuff idc but like, Jay and Nya need to talk about it and they need to GO BACK FOR ECHO. EVEN IF THEY DON’T FIND HIM THERE.

Day of the Departed - just wish it was longer tbh, but major changes: Why do the ninja not seem to care that cole is FADING OUT OF EXISTENCE and Lou should be a lot more worried about his son.

Season 7 - I mean, it’s mostly a trash fire, but I think it’d be a lot more enjoyable if they actually had good sibling dynamics going on. Acronix following his brother because he always has, but starts questioning their plans as things go. At first their relationship is much better, which is why they best Kai and Nya, but by the end that flips over. Actually have Kai and Nya having an ISSUE. Kai thinks their parents could have been traitors, Nya seemingly doesn’t care because she’s so wrapped up with her samurai x stuff being stolen. They end up fighting and don’t make up until the boiling sea. ALSO GIVE RAY AND MAYA A BETTER FUCKING EXCUSE FOR BEING GONE THEY COULD HAVE FUCKING SHANKED KRUX WHEN HIS BACK WAS TURNED GET OUT OF HERE HE HAD NO LEVERAGE.

Also Machia isn’t dead okay she’s just in the past she WILL COME BACK

Seasons 8 and 9 I’d say are pretty solid honestly? My minor changes: Garmadon isn’t Garmadon he’s a fucking fake get out of here with that shit THE REAL GARMADON WOULD NEVER. We actually learn where Mr. E came from I don’t even care if it’s just Harumi and UV talking about how they found him in a scrap heap and got him fixed just give me something. Stop treating Dareth like SHIT. Ronin and The Commissioner plan a jail break long before they’re let out in season 9. Teen Wu is a lot less... air headed. Like seriously he seems to have more logic when he’s a child it doesn’t add up. I’m not saying he has to remember everything but wth?? Oh, and Mistaké isn’t dead fuck you.

Season 10 - ............................................ delete it and start over. Literally, hate all of it, get it out of here. Four episodes for villains you built up like FUCK in the last two seasons??? All of them fucking as big as people???????? cowardly, weak, uninspired, I don’t want it I’m just going to have to redo this whole gd season. A) Oni leader is a QUEEN now and she can be up to 30 feet tall no I do not give a FUCK B) Fake ass Garmadon is revealed to be a different oni entirely he was an agent for the queen the whole time but never finished his mission C) She can still paralyze a bunch of people but man Lloyd you’re going to need more than a shiny tornado to fight her off. D) In fact you need to summon your other great grandma so the two of them can get over their divorce spat. E) Where’s the mask of vengeance bring that back into play. F) Mistaké shows back up to help. I suppose plot wise it can?? Mostly run the same but I think they’re going to have to run much farther than the city with how fast she spreads her reach. Also she’s weak for Lloyd because he’s the smol great grandson and he has to use that to his advantage to slow her down. Mistaké makes something that can unparalyze people and they get some of their allies back before the finale thank god. Faith isn’t just in a coma the whole GD time.

Season 11 - Fire half? Good. I need a much better reason why the ninja go to the never realm tho because wow did they just make everyone out of character in that last episode. The ninja have no reason to just ignore Wu and shove him out like that. Wu has no reason to NOT NOTICE LLOYD IS BREAKING INTO HIS ROOM WHEN HE WAS KICKING THE NINJAS ASSES IN THE FIRST EPISODE. Ice half?? ... h Yeah no they should have known Zane was the emperor from the start LMAO. Or at least suspected the possibility. The decades of time passing??? Deleted. Maybe give it a year. Idk why it’s just Lloyd snapping Zane out if why aren’t the other ninja involved like p l e a s e. Also kill Vex with an ice spike, thanks.

Season 12 - Over all I liked what this season had going but there... should have been more. And that ending felt so crunched together like damn... Unagami was a p cool villain at least BUT idk, despite all the focus on the plot so much of it didn’t feel tangible enough. Even if we’re going to focus more on the video game world I want to see more of what these NPCs are up to. Should have tossed in a couple of filler episodes. Also can someone just kill the Mechanic too SMH (and they should have tied Wu up in something sturdier how did he not just break out of that WHATEVER)

Suppose I’ll stop there I haven’t season season 13 yet.

Oh, the timeline itself needs some fucking work too. At least establish Wu and Garmadon’s sudden aging. At least establish how old Zane is (I’d believe he was built 40 years ago but I find it hard to believe he was active for all of it). Establish that yeah the FSM really did basically fuck off like idk 14 years ago and idk why the show acts like it was so long ago it couldn’t have been based on the other facts we know have Wu learn that his dad is a bitch ass motherfucker and he needs to ditch.

anon kiss me rn this is a perfect excuse to ramble about my opinions and boy do i have opinions.... totally up for rebuttles to these or ppl trying to change my opinions on it i am a literary analysis bitch at heart

hate - technoblade, ranboo (there will be a bounty on my head for this one LOL)

dislike - niki, foolish, punz

don't love or hate - dream, phil, sam, puffy

like - sapnap (i WILL go further into detail for this one if someone wants), jack, tubbo, tommy, fundy

love - wilbur, ghostbur, eret, quackity, schlatt

hate is a strong word but it was used for the sake of the scale lol. but i REALLY dislike techno and ranboo's characters for the same reason of the fact that they feel very mary sue.

techno feels mary sue to me cause just like...nothing bad ever happens to him. i think 90% of my issue with his character would be fixed if he had died as his execution. that entire thing felt so stagnated. the day before dream is like "hey i think youre gonna get executed. heres how to not let that happen." and then the stream after that was "hey im getting executed. thats not gonna happen." like...it was just so unsatisfying because there wasn't a single moment i was concerned for techno considering i watched him get totems the day before and watched him hold one during his execution. he's stuck in the prison but from the way cc!techno was acting it feels like techno doesn't even CARE that he's there, and he has a contingency plan with the syndicate anyways. i didn't even feel bad that he got pulled out of retirement considering it was revealed he was collecting weapons of mass destruction the entire time. the only time i have EVER like his character was early pogtopia when everyone was always like "techno refuses to roleplay" AFSDKFSKG

ranboo feels like a mary sue to me because it's literally just one bad thing happening to him after another without any rhyme or reason. oh no his tears burn him and he has memory loss and he's scared he's doing bad things (did the whole "ranboo secretly has the cat disc" every get brought up again?) and he hears voices. his husband and best friend are moral enemies with his roomies but none of them seem to have an issue with that? just like.....his entire character is internal conflict and everyone loves him. not a fan.

dislike character all boil down to the same thing as well in that i feel like i would LOVE these character if they were executed better.

niki's going from wanting to protect tommy in pogtopia to the next thing i remember of her is her blaming tommy for her trauma. and her villain arc being INCREDIBLY serious but then a joke? niki as a character has a lot of potential but it all just isnt executed well imo, which is why i dislike the character.

foolish being a fun idea but the whole "totem god" thing just falls flat with me.

punz had SO much potential to do something really cool character-wise after the disc finale, but i think that boils down to cc!punz not being a big roleplayer/minecraft streamer, so it makes sense but still feels a little bit like a let down.

for the idc category it's honestly just that personally their character doesn't retain my interest. not that i think there's any major flaw with their character, just not something i care about.

dream i legit just...don't have thoughts about. cool character, but nothing stands out, and he feels a little flip-floppy sometimes. couldn't care less that he's being tortured so i feel like that's a sign that something isn't working right with that plotline.

phil and sam i think i would love their characters if they were exclusivly side characters but with the nature of streaming as the medium for the story there has to be a bit more substance to their characters but i genuinely think i would've liked them if it was just "the warden" and "wilbur's father" rather than their own individual characters. cool characters regardless, just not my personal faves.

puffy i might just not watch her enough but its similar to phil and sam where i think having her just be a therapist wouldve worked better than a fleshed out character. if more puffychu development happens tho, both her and niki will probably rise on this list.

the like characters range from "i think these characters have flaws objectively, but overall are very good!" to just....i am nostalgic for the pet wars.

sapnap i don't have a good reason for liking his character LOL it's mainly because i started watching during the height of the pet wars and i loved watching him during that. but i still just think the concept of his character is so cool and if he did more lore and specifically more stuff with dream, i can see him easily becoming a favorite character of mine.

jack, tubbo, and tommy i think are all very well fleshed out and executed characters. they have goals, flaws, relationships, and all three of the CCs are good actors i feel too. jack REALLY wow'd me over with his manifold hotel arc thing. tommy i think works well as a character because objectively he's kind of a prick but i still want him to win, and i think that's a sign of a well written character.

fundy again is similar to sapnap in that i loved him in the pet wars, but also he has the strongest relationships on the server imo. phil and wilbur stand out the most, but also with the OG l'manbergians and how his relationship with all of them are strained for no apparent reason in this awful "i've grown as a person and can't love you any more" kind of way.

i will fight tooth and nail over the fact that these characters are some of the most well-written and acted on the server genuinely. ESPECIALLY eret. i am a c!eret stan before all else.

ghostbur and eret i absolutely adore because of just how quietly tragic they are. a ghost damned to haunt his failures, and a king damned to try and repent. really REALLY well executed characters, and i pray every day that eret gets the kind of views tommy and wilbur's lore streams do because she is an amazing actor. they are both so tragically well written and executed amazingly, both are great examples of "show not tell" too. ghostbur with the amneisa and eret with their museum and abandoned castle. (only critic for eret is that i wish he stayed dethroned and george stayed king, but i think that was CC error not C error because if i remember right geroge said he wanted out of the lore. tho i think he could've stayed king and still not been involved in lore, but i digress)

wilbur and quackity are all incredibly thought out. you can see a start and a middle, and you can see that there's an ending. i feel like the biggest issue i have with tommy and tubbo is that there just doesn't seem to be an ending for their characters. with wilbur and quackity i can see an ending happening for them. they've got flaws, pros, goals, motivations, ideas. just AMAZING execution and it's cool to see how they're both so well written yet they execute their characters differently. wilbur with very casually imbedded lore that you only realize was lore and foreshadowing until it's too late, and quackity with very in-your-face produced lore streams that make you sit for an hour afterwards and wonder what happened.

schlatt is a good character because of cc!schlatt's AMAZING acting and also because he didn't try to make it some grand thing. schlatt was an alcoholic who abused his workers and was power hungry. he had his goal, and that was it, and cc!schlatt executed that perfectly.

Hakuoki Bakumatsu Kazama Mini Drama “Winds blowing on the street at Night”Translation

UPDATE: it is very, very, very likely that I will be bumping the CXM drama from Otomate party 2017 to november. don’t want to rush+feeling a bit lackadaisical cuz there a few sentences that I just don’t get+there are several terms I’m having difficulties phrasing. At about 65% done.

Translation of the Hakuoki Bakumatsu Mini-drama for Kazama from the Hakuoki Bakumatsu Character CD for him.... aka the Warriors of the Shinsengumi game which I still haven’t gotten around to completely beating... I think? meh idc if that is the right name or not.... JP is 薄桜鬼キャラクターCD 幕末花風抄風間千景.

This was translating using two different Chinese translations.... final edits will be done after comparing to the audio though I’m not sure if I’ll bother fixing this post as I intend to make an srt file... Also I think half my posts don’t show up under the hakuoki tag for some reason.... or disappear than reappear.

HIjikata: Oni!?

Kazama: Without even understanding this, trying to break the boundary between humans and oni is truly stupid/it is foolish to attempt breaking the differences in species of humans and oni, which is why you are indeed pitiful/pathetic. [check audio for humans and oni]

Kazma: Is the shogunate, which you're giving you life away to, really worth it/Is the shogunate worth sacrificing your lives for? I don't know what else to call your situation but sad.

Hijikata: You say we aren't aware of [the/our] situation/able/don't know how to judge/examine our situation/read the flow of the times?

Hijikata: Wait.

Kazama: Is there something else?

Hijikata: Is Kodo-san really not with you? [need to check if it's -sensei or -san here]

Kazama: Why would you ask about this?

HIjikata: I asked you a question.

Kazama: You aren't going to recapture Kodo./You're not still thinking about recapturing/getting Kodo back.

Hijikata: You can't/Can't you give a straight answer?

Kazama: I don't have to answer you. Chizuru herself can come and confirm it./ If Chizuru wants to confirm this, she is welcome to.

Kazama: Shinsengumi.... Are they still planning on using Yukimura Kodo? They completely ignored my advice/didn't heed my advice at all, really what a bunch of fools/idiots.

Chizuru is undoubtedly their trump card to force Kodo into continuing his research experiments./Chizuru must be being kept by them to force Kodo into continuing his research./Ultimately Chizuru is leverage against Kodo to have him resume his research.

They don't understand Chizuru's true value/How could they know of Chizuru's true value [check audio for Shinsengumi being mentioned here].

Indeed, I cannot let this go.

When the time comes, Chizuru must be taken (forcibly) to my side/Any opportunity to take Chizuru must be seized without hesitation, even if that means attacking the Shinsengumi/killing members of the Shinsengumi.

When I do go making the subtitle video... I’ll go and check the name of the cd. will probably use a mix of the translation and literal pronunciation of that Japanese... Also, I’m just going to tag these as ‘Hakuoki Bakumatsu’ for categorization purposes for now since I don’t really care for the Warriors of the Shinsengumi game as I only completed Saito’s route.... as I’m not particularly fond of games without story that require grinding like that...

Btw, is the way I translated Kazama condescending enough...? I try to match the tone of words used in the English translations of the games when doing my translation... though I’ll admit that this is really only a concern for things that I have audio for.

In regards to the other Bakumatsu dramas.....I believe that the Saito drama was already translated (Wind Bell), as was Souji’s (Riceballs) and Hijikata’s (Conversation over Tea in the moonlight). At the moment, I don’t know if Heisuke’s mini drama was translated (saved as image posts unfortunately so I won’t be checking it for now as it’s a pain when trying to read words that I don’t understand but i’m pretty sure it wasn’t), so at the moment that just leaves Bakumatsu dramas for Shinpachi/Yamazaki (what i think is that anyway. saved as image) and Harada’s (i think it’s with Kazama?) for this (no timeline atm for these) until I feel like checking those pics... I think? Also I’m not entirely sure that these are all Bakumatsu dramas since there is another set of drama cds that share a similar looking name.... not that I care right to figure that out right now lol....

forgot to mention: there’s one for Chizuru but she’s the only one talking in it... so iuno if i’ll bother with that cuz it’s 9 min long.

How strictly do you follow canon?

I try to keep pretty true to canon when it comes to Tinker Bell’s characterization, though I’m also a big fan of AUs and exploring lots of different plots that might be unlikely for the original character, so I guess I don’t “strictly” follow canon.

Tink is a 5 inch tall fairy who can use pixie dust to make magic happen--including flight! If people don’t believe in her, she’ll die. She’s extremely emotionally volatile, but she’s a very loyal girl so if she likes someone she’ll absolutely sacrifice herself for their sake. (But if she doesn’t, she’ll be the one organizing their death.) Her name is Tinker Bell because she works with metal, repairing pots and pans, but also she just invents a bunch o’ crap like a tiny MacGyver. If there is ever a rule in her way, she will go out of her way to break it like stepping on dead leaves on the sidewalk.

Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).

She’s a basic bitch? IDC how 2D the fanbase thinks she is based on which one of the canon portrayals they’ve seen of her. With all the adaptations I’ve consumed and can combine inspiration from to form a fully fleshed out character, I like my interpretation.

What inspired you to rp your muse?

Well...TBH I started out in this fanbase with an indie blog for Prilla, and then Terence. I first started playing Tink as just one of the possible takers of questions (among the rest of all fairies in the kingdom) on an ask blog for the Disney Fairies, 6 years ago.

I think I might have started writing her there just enough, or got deep enough in my reading/viewing Peter Pan media at some point, to take some interest in having a separate blog just for role-playing her, which I made. The original one I actually deleted after a couple months as far as I remember, but then I ended up remaking and have been on this same account for the past 5 years!

So, for the fact that this is my longest-lasting role-play (and writing in general) experience I’ve had, the strength of my inspiration for this one character and every little detail about her life and every possibility for her in alternate universes and in various situations with random characters...she was really the one who snuck up on me!

She wasn’t my favorite character BEFORE I started writing her, but she grew and grew in my heart until she’s all I think about.

What keeps your inspiration going?

I love Tinker Bell. Even if I become less active when life flares up for periods of time, then I’ll just remember that I love Tinker Bell and I want to come back and write about her. If I loved her any less she’d end up like the rest of my abandoned blogs/characters I’ve once played. But she sticks!

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?

I don’t think I’ve ever really received criticism about my portrayal, and I don’t mean that like “everybody thinks I’m perfect” but just that I’ve never reblogged a meme asking for anonymous crit, and nobody has ever just given me criticism unprompted either, so I don’t know how well I’d receive it!

I can say how I’d probably feel. Honestly, depending on the criticism, I would try to to understand it from an objective point of view and see whether it’s something I want to change/adapt, but if it’s something I disagree with (because we’re talking about portrayal which I take to mean “my personal interpretation of Tinker Bell’s characterization” which is the one thing I’m content with here) I would point out why I feel like my portrayal is justifiable.

If it’s criticism on my actual writing, I’ll definitely be open to learning and developing more--it’s just portrayal of the muse is so personal and subjective anyway that if someone really has a problem with my Tink....I don’t really care? Just find a different one, then. My Tink is going to be my Tink regardless of whether others appreciate my vision of her or not.

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?

Sure! I almost never get character-building asks (even when I reblog memes for them) but I definitely welcome them and would love to have more!

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?

Might as well. We can definitely discuss WHY we each have a different interpretation, but in the end I’m going to have my own headcanons and they can have theirs. If I change my mind, then I have a new perspective, but if not then nothing is lost either!

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?

I’m not gonna take it personally. If they prefer a different interpretation, it’s totally fine to not follow mine and look for another one! I’m just here to have fun with a few people I really like writing with, not to be the “best” or most popular version of my character out there.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?

Roll my eyes and move on. I understand why some people don’t like the character, so it’s not like I’m gonna waste any effort defending her from hate--it’s their prerogative. I’ll just ignore it and love her extra.

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?

Yeah, if there’s anything I’m consistently doing wrong, please feel free to point it out! Some things are just typos and don’t get caught before being posted, but if there’s something you’ve noticed me doing multiple times so it’s obviously an error of my understanding rather than a mistype, I would love to be able to fix it and become a better writer.

Do you think you are easy going as a mun?

More or less! I don’t bug anybody about replies, you can definitely take your time or drop things with me. I’m pretty chill to talk to OOC as well, if I do say so myself. I’m actually probably the one ppl need to be “easy going” with because I never reply to threads or texts soon enough, I’m horrible at keeping conversations going...But that’s what people have to put up with if they like writing with me, the saints <3

i don't really care about what that person said about SanSan tbh because it seems all their issues stem from misunderstanding Sandor's character + dismissing Sansa's agency. What I do care about is how some1 can like show!Theon over the book version?!? All my mutuals say they sympathize with Reek but is it so bad to sympathize with ACOK's Theon? I was reading his last chapter last month and felt like crying at his hopeless and momentary hopefulness at Maester Luwin's suggestion ;(((

I mean I honestly have no issues with people liking the show version over the book if it speaks to them more or if the book version has... let’s say unpleasant traits they don’t like as much, which is their prerogative and as long as they don’t go trash on the contrary opinion whatever, but like... I personally have issues with the fact that people say show theon is BETTER WRITTEN when in comparison to the book.... let’s be real theon has been written period until S3, post S3 he was secondary at best and they hacked his sl into pieces to give it to sansa and he basically was there to play tapestry until S8 when they figured HEY LET’S KILL HIM NONSENSICALLY and sadly it was actually a good way to go considering 4-6, so like... the book version to me is immensely better because it has development. like, I admittedly was in the ‘eh idc’ camp during acok but I was won over within the third adwd pov and then in retrospective acok was just such good writing it was mindblowing, but like the thing is that book theon is not a pleasant person half of the time and that’s fine because that makes sense with the character and the fact that then he has that goddamned arc which I swear to god is still the best thing in asoiaf and I’m gutted they trashed it for that joke that was S5/6 and it goes from ‘yeah he’s an asshole with issues’ to ‘OH MY GOD FINALLY HE’S FREE’ where you’re so invested in him reclaiming himself is just... idk I still think theon’s adwd chapters are some of grrm’s best writing period for asoiaf and in general and I’ll die on that hill same as I’ll die on the hill of theon and jaime being the most innovative characters technically in these books and I’m just overtly sad that the clique above hasn’t apparently experienced it because hey why should we bother actually reading stuff that’s uncomfortable to read and actually makes us question some of our tendencies to wish suffering on people we hate? *shrug*

(no, seriously, the moment I realized reek was theon bc I read all five books in a month and something and I started the month before adwd came out so I wasn’t spoiled and I didn’t know anything I about threw up in my mouth and went like I’M SAD I EVER THOUGHT YOU DESERVED COMEUPPANCE FOR YOUR WINTERFELL STINT and I felt like shit for even thinking that three weeks before like.... honestly the reek chapters for me were so uncomfortable up until the fifth but it was a good kind of eventually and again it’s because grrm is good at what he does but yeah let’s not get into it because the moment I knew got was a dead show was when they fucked up S5 and I hate myself for actually buying for two weeks during S8 that they might wanna fix it lol)
