Do you believe in magic?

When she was young, she knew everything. She knew how to dance and sing and she knew exactly what love was. It was loud and colorful and felt like million sparkling purple butterflies. She spent hours searching for it in spring’s golden sunlight and in the crystal clear air after a rainstorm.

Her girlhood was comforting and magical. Full of fancy words that she used too often and always incorrectly. Full of books of friendships and wonder and fairies, ready to be discovered by small, curious souls.

Like all young things, she explored. The basement and the attic, where she found faded pictures of people she’d never met. The library, where she discovered the stories of people she’d never met. The woods, the stream, the grass. All of it, utterly beautiful.

But, just like all crisp autumn mornings, childhood always slips away from those who need it most. And the winter they are left with us altogether chilly and harsh and different.

If there’s one universal experience about growing up it’s the realization. The realization that she didn’t know anything at all. The realization that the snow flakes that falling on her cheeks were not forever. The people around her, the sounds of their breathing, all of it was not forever. Eventually, it all catches in the wind, and you are left no choice but to watch as it flies away from you and falls on the cold ground below.

But as she looked down on it all, she realized one more thing. The love which she had once understood so clearly, had changed too. It got brighter and louder until it was everywhere. And she suddenly knew how wrong she had been.

And as the daylight crossed her cheeks, she realized just how beautiful life’s not-forever-ness really is. Because, by some unfathomable force, she had made it to spring. And that force could have only been pure magic.

it's based on the story of the British Coal Miner's strike and the rise of queer rights in 1980s Britain. It's very uplifting and shows how much just a few of us can do for a cause.

hi new gifter! totally understandable that folks dropped out, it's been a rough time to be in the fandom trying to find joy while feeling let down.

okay, fav song is Peace, but also Out of the Woods, Ivy, Tis the Damn Season, Daylight, DBATC... I think my favorite Era is 1989 (I am SO looking forward to 1989 TV which can hopefully have some healing of everything she went through) ... but honestly Lover/Folklore/Evermore are just so close behind. (The Lover Wango Tango look is just! my heart.)

I am a HUGE sci-fi /fantasy fan, so love Kate Elliott, VE Schwab, Yoon Ha Lee, Ursula le Guin, C.S. Friedman, Ian Banks. Star Wars is probably my largest fandom (although we are talking about queer/diverse SW, not whatever happened in general fandom ick over the last few years...).

hi!! some of my favourite taylor songs are lover, new year's day, safe & sound, all too well, mine and happiness! outside of taylor some artists I love are bleachers, maisie peters, kelsea ballerini and sabrina carpenter :)

as my blog suggests I'm into lots of different movies and shows haha, some of my most beloved shows are brooklyn 99, gilmore girls, 911 and new girl and for movies my favourites are pride & prejudice, the hunger games series, when harry met sally, the paddington movies and la la land 💖
