[M4F] Star Wars Plots!

Hello! With the upcoming Ahsoka series right around the corner, I've thrown myself back into the Star Wars fandom. This has really sparked a hunger in me for a roleplay set in this universe. Below, I have compiled a list of plots - 'What If' scenarios - as well as a list of the Canon characters I'd like to play and a list of those I want to play against!

WHAT IF: GRIEVOUS WAS A JEDI?

The commander of the CIS's military and one of, if not thee, most dangerous Jedi killers alive, General Grievous has earned the fear and morbid respect which his name and presence invoke. Tall, dangerous and nearly invulnerable due to his armour, he's a tough opponent. What if, though, Grievous becomes a Jedi? His Canonical backstory is almost non-existant, so perhaps he joins the Order at a young age? Maybe the Jedi or the Republic puts him back together, not Dooku? Perhaps he's even captured and freed from serving the Sith, allowing him to side with the Jedi to exact his revenge on them?

WHAT IF: PADMÉ SURVIVED?

Padmé meets a tragic end - but what if she doesn't? This might seem a bit cliché - obviously - but how would her surviving alter the course of galactic history? Does Obi-Wan take her with him to Tatooine, nursing her back to health slowly but surely? Perhaps she's resurrected by Vader, only to be turned into an Inquisitor by Palpatine? Does she become a cyborg in order to survive giving birth?

WHAT IF: THERE WAS A PADAWAN?

Order 66 is one of the most tragic events in the Star Wars Canon. Sure, the Jedi aren't exactly the definition of righteous, but they tried to help the galaxy - most of the time, at least. While the Jedi are powerful warriors, their skills do not save them when their Clones turn on them. How would their fates change with the inclusion of a padawan, though? Does Aayla Secura escape from Felucia with her life? Does Luminara Unduli still end up in the Empire's clutches?

WHAT IF: THE INQUISITORS TURNED ON VADER?

The Inquisitors: fallen Jedi, for the most part, trained in the dark side of the Force by Palpatine and Vader to hunt Jedi; still weak enough to be taken out with ease. What if one or more of these Inquisitors realises the error in their ways and defect, launching a desperate attack on Vader to cripple the Empire?

WHAT IF: FENNEC SHAND MET HER MATCH?

Master assassin Fennec Shand is, by the time of the Mandalorian, past her prime. Though she's still incredibly deadly and dangerous, the people who are hired to come after her are, too, increasingly so as the list of atrocities she commit grows longer. One day, her past catches up to her in the form of a young bounty hunter. Will she strike a deal with him, or die fighting?

WHAT IF: MACE WINDU AND ANAKIN SKYWALKER SUCCEEDED?

What if Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu vanquish Palpatine? Padmé would survive and, considering the circumstances, the Council would overlook the marriage. The Seperatists would probably regroup, but a further few years of war would lead to the Republic emerging from the ashes as the victors. Let us explore the lives of the Jedi in a world where Order 66 never happened.

WHAT IF: EZRA WASN'T TAKEN?

With a magnificent finale, Lothal is freed from Imperial reign, Thrawn and the Seventh Fleet are destroyed and Ezra Bridger disappears - but what if that last one did not happen? What if Ezra could pass on what little knowledge he has to Luke once he, too, joins the Rebellion? Would he and Sabine finally end up together? Would he instead turn towards the only remaining mentor in his life, Hera Syndulla, for more than platonic love? Who knows...

WHAT IF: DOOKU NEVER TURNED?

Following Qui Gon Jinn's demise at the hands of Maul, Dooku falls to the dark side - but what if he doesn't? Maybe he gathers the most powerful Jedi he can and goes after Sidious, ridding the Republic and the Jedi of their greatest enemy - they think. Maul survives in the shadows, planning his return. Who will stop him this time?

so im making this ANYWAY for a friend and it got me thinking, im curious if anyone on this weird little site (/aff /pos) would want this

would anyone be interested in a kinda "guide" to improving your written RP skills? i've had.. a lot of years experience doing various text-based RP, both fandom and OC (mostly fandom, though). i would be including screenshots of my own roleplay messages (some of them with things highlighted for emphasis) for reference on what the hell i'm talking about with some points

over that time i've picked up a LOT of little things that i've found improved my writing skills and style, my ability to be "in character", and adding a little length to messages to make them more interesting, a little more than just a sentence or two describing the bare bones

honestly i'm probably gonna post one anyway, i'm mostly just curious what kind of interest to expect lmao

(also, if anyone sees this, and wants to suggest things to add in OR things to give tips on, feel free to let me know! i definitely have enough stuff to make the post on its own, but as we know, i like long rambly posts, so the more the merrier or... something! /gen)

It's radiance extended past the alpines, down over the ranges and off towards the southern winds. A distant glimmer of light came into view, a current of water farther than any cat could see normally, followed by the audible crash of what sounded like a waterfall. The vision, gone as fast as it arrived vanished from sight as the Sun's final velvet rays touched the tallest crests of the mountain range, and then out of view leaving the sky violent and freckled with stars.

I would kill for an RPG that takes place in the witcher universe... and by RPG I mean full on RPG experience where you can create your own character (not just male option) and customise their appearance and buy your own horse and name your horse and screw the local pretty elven prostitutes etc.

saw a video about 2 player ttrpgs and one of them was like "this one's about a pretend marriage" and i was like oh? and i looked it up on itch (eyes on the prize, fyi) and it's 50% as of right now and i was like OH? and i bought it immediately & ive read most of it and i am a big fan. and i KNOW that i have friends who would have fun playing it (it's a 2 player or 4 player game; the 4 player variant has 2 fake couples) but asking them is going to be so cringe. yeah we're gonna make up people and pretend to be them and then pretend to pretend to get married and the characters when they start their pretending they're gonna be like "oh we don't have any romantic feelings towards each other this is strictly plot" but then (get this) they will start to develop real feelings for each other. and we're gonna act it out together and pretend to be them but don't worry! we have no romantic feelings towards one another. this is strictly plot. when WE (irl) pretend to be in love it's actually platonic, unlike the people who we are pretending to be to each other. so do you have like 2-5 hours you wanna dedicate to that next week

and the worst part is that's 100% what i want. like i have roleplayed romance before with friends it is literally not a big deal because the whole point of roleplay is that the character ISN'T you. but with a fake relationship the crushing weight of dramatic irony hovers behind me

#i do want to play it though it seems fun. i actually think it would be more fun to do the 4 player variant #just bc like. to me fake dating is all about the audience. the way you act alone vs in public #it's about the drama. the show. having other people to bounce of off in rp i think benefits that #eh. im overthinking it i'll get over myself & bring it up. i at least wanna talk about it to people even if we don't intend to play it #i also kinda think you could use the game as more of a writing prompt than a roleplaying game if you wanted? #like. ideally you're still have 2 or 4 people who have a character they mainly control #and you'd like. co-write a story by hashing out responses to each card (which is the main game mechanic) & writing it down #but you would lose some of the imo more like... silly (affectionate) parts of the game? #because some of it is really about the improvisational aspect of both ttrpgs and the fake dating trope #but i still think it would be really fun. and i have done a lot of text-based roleplay before #so i am biased towards it just in general. #i also think you could probs play with 3 players with slight bending of the rules and in and out of game acceptance of polya relationships #esp because the setting is like. vaguely period piece fantasy nobility. you go to fancy parties and shit #i feel like those people had very complicated love lives i think a throuple would be fine #also We Are Playing Pretend #good idea generator #unrelated but did wtf when did they update the post editor the tags are so ugly LOL

I hope you mind me dropping in to deliver this because I already did. See, I'm real interested in the things you're doing, but as it stands watching them go on from afar isn't really as invigorating as I thought it would be, in fact, it's honestly getting kinda stale! There's only so many times you can do "Starry gets sadder, more anxious, and more hopeless" without it becoming old. 'Course, I don't just watch people's torment, I pull the strings to make it happen, and I really want to get involved in what you've got going on here. In fact, I think I will get involved. It's inevitable and all that. Don't worry, that was just a reference, I'm still very much a neutral party. Besides, I'm pretty sure Pokey counts me as one of his enemies at this point, considering all the harm I've done.

However, I've come here to make a compromise. With all my literal infinite power, me getting involved could actually benefit you a lot. I could swing "luck" in your favour, 'cause god knows luck isn't even a real thing anymore, provide you with cool new little creatures to experiment on and research, and get you in touch with a few playthings of mine that would be very interested in your cause. Though, obviously, if you don't agree to this, me getting involved might end up a bit... messier, if ya know what I mean.

I mean, what's stopping me from undoing the threads that weave together this world's existences, tarnishing it and leave a massive gap for god knows what to seep through? At this point, the threads I've spun run very deep, and severing them in some petty means of revenge for you being a little rude to me could definitely disrupt all the hard work you're doing, at least for a little while. It's crazy what you can do with just a few strings of words and phrases, huh?
