listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN

I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.

I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.

My Honest Opinion:

I was really anticipating this series and may I say that it didn't disappoint even in the slightest. The plot is rather cliched but the execution is really good. I watched this series when I caught cold and it felt like a fever dream.

Phumjai and Chen hands down have an amazing chemistry and totally are off the charts. Daou and Offroad sure gave it their all and I am waiting to see more series of them.

Despite the first couple getting most of the spotlight, I must admit that it was the second couple which shined bright like a star despite not being the focus. I loved the fact that Tag didn't let Phojai string him along just because he loves him. All in all, this series is definitely worth watching.

Maya is an NPC created by my DM so there’s still gaps in her story that we’ve yet to uncover so bear with me

Maya had an accident while she was undercover, a deadly explosion. She was on the verge of death when an entity called the Heretic spoke to her in her mind. Maya knew she had to do everything to come back to Gadrielle, so she accepted the Heretic’s help, hence her warlock magical capabilities and little biddings in return. She’s not allowed to tell Dina much about the Heretic other than Maya believes that the Heretic is neutral and means no harm. That’s all we know so far!

Muay thai style, I can see Maya being an aggressive bouk with her punches, while Dina is a careful tae or mat with her kicks and a calculated khao with her piercing knee strikes!

in-character roleplaying pains:

playing in tactician as a cleric of kelemvor

you know, with the doctrine that famously is not keen on necromancy and the undead

being nice to astarion and not staking him immediately despite that being what a follower of kelemvor might do, because of tadpole teamwork reasons and sympathising with him being a victim of circumstance (a true vampire would be killed on sight)

this may be a touch contrived but keeping the vampire alive in my playthrough will lead to a richer game experience so i'm sticking to it

find the necromancy of thay - obviously my cleric would intend to destroy it as a certified necromancy hater

tries to do this, wyll and lae'zel are pleased with me, astarion is fuming with me as you may expect

immediately attacked by two shadows; we are level 3, and this is tactician. we are slaughtered within three turns

have to load back to do the slightly out of character choice of stashing the book instead of destroying it because otherwise progressing with the game will be a nightmare

okay astarion i guess you can have your book later

but my cleric is at least going to try and treat the tome with holy water or invoke kelemvor for help first, OKAY
