Love Thy Monster (snippet)
They always said he had no life. It was the type of a place where a man without a wife and children appeared suspicious, so he was probably lucky that he was a policeman and gained trust over the years of his hard work. He could move to a big city where nobody would bat an eye, but even with all its frustrations, he loved this place. Quirky little cottages and shops, market with fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers, that lovely lady who always knew everything and sold him her homemade dinners, and always left one for him on the side when he did not show up, knowing he was too busy with work and will come back home starving. That gentleman who always knew how to fix his crap car, the young woman who scared her kids with the policeman who would get them if they did not stop misbehaving, but they just stuck their tongues out at him, even the drunk who was known to everyone not so much for always being drunk but for calling everyone Kings and Queens, especially when asking for change.
Mademoiselle, any pennies?
And then there was him.
David.
Perhaps he was the reason the people finally accepted Michael, because David came in standing out from the place like a black peacock in a desert, and he apparently did not give a single fuck and somehow everyone fell for it which Michael still could not comprehend how.
Nobody looked twice at Michael anymore or cared to talk about his ‘mysterious’ life.
The mystery being that he was simply single in his fifties which was weird enough for this place. He was not sure why David was getting away with it.
About a year ago someone bought the gorgeous old mansion surrounded by the forest, that was left to rot for years. Within a year it was brought to its former glory, with the amount of money Michael could not even imagine to have. The legends were writing themselves during that time, and everyone decided that royalty was going to move in. Lords and Ladies who will bring the village back to its former glory, which Michael was still not sure what that was because he dug deep enough to know that the village had always been the same. The only things he found were the shiver inducing religious stories he hoped would help him understand what was going on with the recent murders. He hoped that religious insanity was not what people wanted to bring back.
And then instead David moved in to the mansion. Arrived at night in a beautiful car and nobody ever joined him.
Michael looked at him leaning towards the old lady who was currently touching his cheeks telling him he was too thin. She adored the guy and Michael saw him a few times helping carry her bags and chatting like they knew each other for a long time.
Michael did not know how old the man was. Standing there now, in a black fluffy jumper, dark skinny jeans and trainers, hair short on the sides and longer on top, curling a little, obviously ruffled by the lady, he looked in his thirties if not younger. But Michael saw him dressed in the most fashionable suit, probably costing as much as Michael’s yearly wage, hair smoothed back, face serious as he was speaking on the phone, and he looked handsome but definitely closer to his forties.
He could not ask around because everyone would know within minutes that he did. Especially him.

Who wants buck angst?
Imagine if buck discovers that after the lightening strike he is infertile
And yes I just thought of something angsty so I had to Google and fact check my scenario to see if it’s actually possible and i found an article about a man who fathered a son after being told he would be infertile due to being struck by lightening and in the article it even mentions a fertility specialist who says that there has been low evidence of lightening strike victims being able to have children afterwards

Other people: Jason is the worst of the seven. He barely does anything for the whole series. We don’t even know anything about him. What is there to like or find interesting?

would it be sacrilege of me to say that i am kinda hashtag Underwhelmed by the percy jackson show
#first off. the directing is just not that good.#like you could have taken the unique story and made interesting choices that make the story feel more exciting but so far it’s just so basi#basic shot composition basic camera movement fairly basic lighting#also like i can understand changes from the book. going from a first person novel to a show is difficult and you have to make changes.#but also some of them are just like nonsensical. why would you change the claiming from a moment of victory for percy to whatever that was#<- well okay not really victory. more confusion and fear and desperation with a tad bit of victory#(also the claiming symbol looked bad and i’m salty about that)#i liked that annabeth had it figured out though that was fun. the introduction to her character kinda slayed#oh my god also the decision for that scene where luke is telling percy abt him annabeth and thalia to Not have any broll type shots overtop#-of the explaination actually Showing what luke was saying was lame#i get that they don’t have the actor for thalia chosen yet but you could have easily done it to where you only showed young luke+annabeth-#-and just thalia’s like sillohuette or hand reaching out or whatever#also again about the claiming scene they just took away all of the hints toward future twists. the hellhound summoned by someone in camp-#-and the hints toward the Big prophecy :(#anyway overall it’s awesome and it’s so fun to see pjo on screen. it’s just a bit lacking imo ☹️#oh and the reduction of gabe into an almost comedic character rather than as an absolutely foul person that percy and sally have had to-#-suffer just does not work for me. it’s such an important detail thematically and also gives so much more context and meaning to percy and-#-sally’s lives and relationship. i think it’s so important but they changed it to something more palletable :(#ash rambles#ash.txt

Instead of drawing some Metadede art or Taransusie art for Valentine’s Day I’m considering drawing some art for my Kirby crack ship instead, just because I think the concept of this particular ship is hilarious. It makes zero sense on the surface, but in a weird way I think that it could actually kind of work if certain things were addressed.
I won’t reveal what the ship is right now, but if I have time to draw something for it for Valentine’s Day then I’ll reveal it on Valentine’s Day. I don’t think that anyone will be able to guess what the ship is, but I’ll give you all a hint: both characters debuted in the same game. Not saying which game in the series, but they first appeared in the same game.

Looks like Jensen can’t Casbait his way out of this one lads
#Guarantee you the only people passionate about saving winch are people who still think DestieI is going to “happen”#Like they just need to let JA cook for a bit and then he’ll give them a 15x18 follow up.. lads 🫣#But now with his show having been taken off of life support… he’s not giving them ANYTHING to play with??? He’s not even trying?#I’m so serious because if he actually had CastieI the gay angel in the bank for his fic….. or he’s just genuinely so out of touch like.#If he actually had Cas plans he would be leaning on that SO much wouldn’t he? Given that his whole approach to saving his show#is to have the fans make noise on twt?#These are the people that had a fake dusty yell wedding trend for 48 hours.#And as we know all heIIers need are the lightest of implications to convince them something DestieI is happening. So.#Either he genuinely doesn’t recognise the asset in front of him or he has nothing to even tease them with. Both are extremely funny options#OR he knows and refuses to engage with or appeal to them on purpose. The funniest possible answer#My posts#Sorry to analyse this like I’m an election news presenter or something this whole car wreck is just so entertaining to me lol#I mean…. hes not even rerunning the winch trailer with the Cas 4x01 barn entrance clip in it. He’s not even trying#Ghsfshsgsfsgs whether I’m exaggerating the heIIer influence or not. It’s so funny to see him not even HINT at going there to save his life#I’d go see what the heIIers themselves are saying in the tags about all this but ah my radiation suit is at the cleaners unfortunately :/

My The Owl House OC!
Name
Mycelia Fray. Her close loved ones may call her Celie.
Species
Biped demon.
Gender
Female.
Sexuality
Asexual.
Age
Eighteen.
Appearance
Mycelia is tall and slender with long proportions. She has creamy white skin with brown veins. Her most notable feature is that rather than hair, her head forms a bell-shaped mushroom cap with a slightly flared brim and brown adnexed gills that reflexively releases fine, light pink powder when her adrenaline is high. She has turquoise eyes and pointed ears. Her spell circles are purple. A light blue circular cabochon gemstone is embedded at the base of her neck, nestled between her collarbones, that projects blue text and images she wills to appear, glowing in the process. She uses it to communicate, being deaf and never having learned to speak. It’s a common nonverbal communication aid designed by the Healing Coven, though it technically uses illusion magic. She also wears purple-rimmed enchanted glasses that show subtitles and visual effects for speech and sounds.
She wears purple, blue and turquoise clothing with spiral motifs. Her wardrobe is stylish, sophisticated and on the formal side - taking care of her appearance has always been enjoyable and satisfying for her and ties into her preoccupation with image. She likes boots and warm and layered clothing, losing heat easily. She wears a gold spiral bracelet on her left arm and gold hoop earrings. Her fingernails are painted turquoise.
Palisman
Her palisman Quibyl is a spotted hyena (an intelligent species with large groups and complex social bonds, misunderstood and unfairly demonized) with dark brown eyes and her interlock on her chest. Her black staff has visible wood grain waves and swirls. She spent years a stray palisman, forsaken for a failed spell that resulted in a notch in her right ear and crack down the middle of her forehead. The Frays found her and took her in when Mycelia was a little girl. Quibyl was attracted to the young demon’s conviction to be a master of her craft and use her wisdom to prevent and provide solutions for suffering in her early teens, moving from a family pet to Mycelia’s own palisman. She performs the duties of an Earth hearing dog for her and is rarely in her dormant form in everyday life. They’re protective of each other and like physical touch.
Backstory
Mycelia had a pretty idyllic childhood in Bonesborough. Her father Brume is an Oracle Coven official, his position high income and quite prestigious. Mycelia always looked up to him and strived to follow in his footsteps. Her mother Onyx is a professor of archeology and the curator of the Bonseborough Natural History Museum, and in the Plant Coven. Both her doting parents encouraged her to make the most of her education and raw magical talent, but their expectations never made Mycelia not feel good enough. How could they, when she always met them? She entered the Oracle Track at Hexside and soon proved to be very adroit, her ability and charm winning her teachers’ praise and her peers’ admiration. Her sigil ceremony due within the year, she was a model future Coven System servant… until four months ago.
A coworker of her father’s tried to frame him for their crime of smuggling scrying balls to rebels so they could better watch out for the law. But Mycelia, doing work experience in the Oracle Coven, found the stolen crystal balls instead and was caught. She served three traumatic months in the Conformatorium. While the guards and inmates paid little attention to her individually, but the atmosphere of dehumanization, degradation and fear took a heavy toll on her mental health. Ironically her time in jail radicalized her - it gave her an understanding of and connection to the Boiling Isles’s subversive element, and glimpsing Luz Noceda’s her rampage through the building showed her the power and majesty of wild magic. Meanwhile Mycelia’s family and friends were livid when she was sentenced, and alongside her teachers, who knew she couldn’t possibly be treacherous, fought the Emperor’s Coven tooth and nail to investigate her case further. With the leverage of her mother’s position, their requests were granted.
Mycelia may have been found innocent, released and cleared of all charges, but her life cannot just return to normal, and she certainly can’t. She has begun practicing healing and beastkeeping magic and is a Multi-Track student, regretful that she has such a small amount of time left at Hexside even with it extended to cover her missed lessons. Reevaluating her political stance is pushing her down a path to overall self-improvement. Her parents believed in Emperor Belos and still believe wild magic is dangerous, and don’t inwardly approve of their daughter wanting to call off the event her whole life so far has led up to and abandoning the secure future they’ve worked hard to provide her with to be a fugitive, outcast wild witch. Oracle magic was a key thing she and her dad bonded over and Brume feels Mycelia’s new disciplines intrude on that. They haven’t voiced this because they’re overwhelmingly glad she’s back and in good enough shape to handle three study tracks in itself, but their relationships with her are straining as they struggle to adapt to her shift in personality. They can’t fully accept the old Mycelia is gone. Yet she is.
After Hunter told her the truth about the Day of Unity, she begged her parents to hide at Hexside with her, but they refused, dismissing her warning as paranoid hearsay. Narrowly surviving the draining spell harshly awakened them to Belos truly not having their best interests at heart. Then the Collector turned them into puppets. He did the same to Mycelia a couple of weeks later when she snuck out to try to find them. The next thing any of them knew was that Luz the human, Eda the Owl Lady and King the Titan had purged the Boiling Isles of Belos and the Collector was no longer a problem, and apparently not actually a bad person. The Isles are still unstable and the future uncertain. But the family are safe and have time to unpack their issues as they move forward together.
Personality
Mycelia is an irrepressible extrovert. She prides herself on her social skills, claiming to “know everything worth knowing about everyone worth knowing” in her year group at Hexside. In fact, she specializes in seeing the future of interpersonal relationships. Her deafness has made her exceptionally good at reading body language. She cares extremely deeply about the people in her life and their side of their relationships with her and gets very invested in other people’s personal lives and relationships quickly, occasionally being invasive. She once used her magic to spy on a friend when she was concerned about them keeping a secret that she feared was dangerous. It ended the friendship, the most hostile of the few times that’s happened and a great source of shame. Focusing on and projecting onto other people and fictional characters and their relationships is an escape from acknowledging or dealing with her messy emotional problems.
This investment in people does have an altruistic side however. She’s attentive, nurturing, protective and indeed almost motherly to her friends, behaviour which can be overbearing but is at worst unconsciously selfish and never malicious. As a rule Mycelia likes taking care of people, even if she goes about it the wrong way. This is why she entered the Oracle Track in the first place, to watch out for others’ wellbeing. Somewhere down the line that pure urge to help got swept up in her more self-absorbed career focus and she’s realizing this and actively rectifying it. Her life goal is to be a psychiatrist. She values loyalty. She hates and disapproves of leaving people behind or giving up on them, so puts hard work into fixing things she does that hurt people and maintaining relationships. By the same token, it’s challenging to accept that what’s best for someone she loves, what they need, could have nothing do with being in her life.
She has both a crafty and academic intelligence, and a good head for plans. Intersecting with the social skills, she’s typically good at making people believe she knows what she’s doing - often half the battle, she finds. Befitting an oracle, she’s cautious and considerate, uncomfortable with surprises and unknowns. Her skill at and initiative in keeping to schedules and planning activities, from social events to school assignments, contributes to her popularity. Now the plan that takes priority is how she is going to live post-coven system and apocalypse. Part of her still wanted to believe that the entire government wasn’t corrupt and that it should be reformed rather than utterly destroyed; however, the Hexside rebellion against Adrian Graye and the Emperor’s Coven and the revelation of the Day of Unity’s true purpose solidified her willingness to fight for civil liberty. Her faith in authority figures in general and the ideals of order and conformity they represent has been shaken to its core. More and more flaws in the coven system are obvious now that she knows to look for them. She’s kind of ashamed she didn’t rebel on her own before.
Mycelia’s personality is largely founded on the belief that if she can control how she is viewed, she can control her life. She’s deathly afraid of rejection and humiliation due to all the value she places on reputation and perception, leading her to keep secrets despite her need for honesty from her friends. Lately, what with the huge external and internal upheaval of her time in prison, control has become even more important to her. She’s just lost all of it for the first time ever. That can’t happen again. In the Comformatorium she developed a dependency on having visions of the near to immediate future - usually social interactions. The habit started simply to protect and reassure herself in the unfamiliar environment full of frightening guards and inmates, but now she can’t get through a day without a vision if not multiple and can lock herself in her room to obsess over seeing and memorizing visions for hours straight. Such intense oracle magic turns her eyes luminous purple. Hiding this from her parents is another major strain on their trust, with them increasingly suspicious of her uncharacteristic irresponsibility, chronic lateness and excuses.
Already keenly alert and observant, necessary qualities to stay safe in and keep up with a world of inaudible sounds, she’s become hypervigilant and jumpy. She gets stressed more easily and severely. It seems nearly impossible to truly relax unless her friends are present or the situation is something she’s at least partially predicted. Her quirk of dispensing powder hadn’t occurred in years by the time she was arrested and she’d felt she’d outgrown it; these days her shoulders are dusted with pink specks, up to dense banks, more often than not. Her inability to conceal her anxiety embarrasses her to no end. Her parents and friends sympathize with this, but are glad they know when she needs support. Another nervous tic of hers is high, tense laughter. Right now animals are easier to relax around than people, witch social norms and cues meaningless to them. They ground her in the present and pull her out of her head.
She likes practical activities that stimulate her hands and mind and give a tangible sense of accomplishment. For example, she knits as a fun and therapeutic hobby. It allows her to make her own clothes, blankets, cosies, etc., including a witch’s wool cloak, some of which she gives to her friends. Quibyl loves the wool blanket in her bed. She’s also recently acquired an understandable interest in locksmithing and locksport (picking locks recreationally and ethically), of both magical and mundane security mechanisms. Her current project in this is a ‘ghost key’ that uses oracle magic in its purple crystalline bow and shaft to predict the correct bit for the nearest lock and projects it out of solidified light.
