Meant To Stay The Worst
Pt. 1
Alastor x Reader
(friendship, slowbuild romance)
Pt. 2 ->
Note: This is gonna be a series. Reader and Alastor will be friends and fall in love and marry and meet each other again in hell and rule there as overlords...
Sounds nice and simple. And although all that is true, there will be a lot of emotional drama still. First, because of Alastor's trust issues, but also because they don't have a 'lovey-dovey' nice relationship. There will be fluff, and they'll love each other, yes. But the concept of their relationship is basically supporting each other in making each other worse. Like, they're in hell for a reason and want to stay there... They do morally corrupt things and even when they don't agree with each other they support each other.
I don't think this is dark enough to be considered a dark fic at all, it's more canon typically dark. But just to say this isn't meant to portray a healthy relationship or morals.
Warnings: Fem!Reader, use of Y/N (kill me for it) , Alastor AND reader are on the ace spectrum but don't know , alcohol use, idk tell me if there's smth else
---
There was cake and tea, lovely flowers and lovely dresses. If you'd have been alone this may have been relaxing. But every time you tried to let your mind drift off to something nice - like a scenario of a book you read, the obnoxious voice of your cousin snapped you back to reality.
"Then he told me our offspring would be genetically superior!" She giggled.
"How romantic." You sighed in boredom and tried focusing on something else. Being forced to drink tea with your lovely cousin who tormented you ever since childhood, just so she could please her own sadistic desires was something you had to do as a representing lady of your house.
God being a woman in the 1930s was exhausting.
Your cousin Maria rolled her eyes at you. "Does it make you happy to be so negative all the time? You know you're gonna die alone if you don't fix this attitude of yours, right? You act like you're better than me, but at least men like me." She gave you a smug grin.
"Yeah, congratulations. I'm actually not really interested in the constant humiliation of being treated like a lesser human being, nor the year-long physical abuse I'd have to endure until I'd finally finish slowly poisoning my husband's tea."
Maria narrowed her eyes at your audacity to speak your opinion. Then she cleared her throat and smirked at you again - this was the look she always had as a child when she was about to torture you. "Speaking of which... I actually have someone you may be interested in meeting this time."
You just stared at her blankly without a response. You were forced to go on dates with different men all the time.
You were 21 and still not married, which was just a scandal for your family. But, you always managed to successfully scare these men away on your dates. Because you're a woman, your opinion of whether or not they'd be a good spouse obviously didn't matter, so you had to think of creative ways to make them not want to choose you.
After noticing your lack of response to her statement, Maria simply continued, "See there is this radio broadcast I've been listening to and this broadcaster... he just had such a hot voice! And he talked about some stuff... I don't know what, I didn't really listen, but he seemed proper, so I asked my dad to use his power to arrange a date for me! But, when I researched him further... I think he's a little poor actually, he wore this fake brand... also he doesn't really look like how I expected him to look, so... since you're all for this equality stuff I thought it'd be perfect. My dad is mad at me since he already paid for the date, so you're perfect!" She finished, giving you a fake smile.
"Hmm... this actually sounds like your problem, not mine." You gave her a fake smile back.
The girl just gave you an angry look and finished drinking her tea in silence.
Oh, you were so sure she was going to try to find a way to punish you for this.
And right you were. Your dad informed you the same day that you were going to go on that date. And you should definitely look out to not fuck this one up again.
Your father even acted like he cared about you for a second, explaining how this is what you must do in this world. Even if it's not perfect. You just went to your room in silence, trying not to cry in front of him.
This world was cruel. Your brother followed society's expectations and was fine. Your cousin followed society's expectations and was fine. You didn't and were unhappy. So was this truly the answer?
The next day you made yourself ready - skipping breakfast.
You'd just scare off this man like the others. Maybe you'd have to marry someone mediocre one day. Or maybe you were gonna run away someday. You weren't sure yet.
Arriving at the restaurant you recognized the cheesy interior suiting the style of your cousin and her father immediately.
The polite waiter recognized your face and showed you your table.
This supposed date of yours already sat there. When he saw you walking towards him, he immediately stood up and politely extended his hand to you. You took it and he planted a short kiss on your knuckles. The waiter handed you the menus and excused himself.
The man had a polite and big smile on his face and pulled your seat back, waiting for you to sit down until he sat down himself giving you a small bow. "My name is Alastor! It's a pleasure to be meeting you my dear, quite a pleasure."
He was definitely polite. But you did see what your cousin meant by saying he was probably not from a rich family. His moves seemed too much like he memorized them from a book only a short while ago, and not from real experience. His clothes seemed expensive for someone from a lower class but not higher. He also looked more dark-skinned than people in your family would probably find great.
"My name is Y/N. It's a pleasure to be meeting you, too." You tried giving him an honest smile back. He was probably gonna turn out to be an asshole, too, like all the guys, but for now, he hasn't done anything wrong.
The two of you exchanged light small talk before ordering your meals. You were surprised to see him ordering a heavy meal with a lot of meat and strongly seasoned. You of course didn't care what he was gonna eat and ordered your favorite meal, too, whatever his opinion may be, but you were used to everyone ordering the same boring and light stuff to seem healthy and well-mannered.
The conversation seemed superficial and boring but not too bad. He had at least not shown any extremely radical opinions or behavior yet.
His smile remained on his face throughout the whole conversation and after a while, he cleared his throat and explained kindly to you: "Look, you seem like a really beautiful and lovely woman, any man would be lucky to have you. This is why I have to be honest with you and tell you: I'm actually not interested in any romantic relationship or anything similar. But I am flattered by the letter you sent me and I do enjoy your company..." his smile didn't falter as he tried to politely let you down. It did though, when he saw your unusual reaction to his rejection.
Your always neutral-looking face until now, was slowly forming a smile and your eyes lit up. You were offended he actually thought your cousin's (probably vile) letter was written by you, but all in all you were glad, because this man didn't actually expect to sleep with you or even continue meeting.
You let out a relieved laugh. After seeing his confused face you quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I just- my father forces me to go on these dates when I'm not actually looking for a relationship. I was already prepared to try to make up some story to scare you off, too, like I always do. But it seems like I may actually be able to enjoy a dinner for once without pretensions or expectations."
Though scaring men away can be entertaining in itself, too.
Your truly relieved smile, while picking up your food made Alastor smile again, too.
"Well if that's the case, I am happy we're on the same page, then. Though I am surprised about this... letter of yours then." He smiled gently, though his eyebrows scrunched a little in irritation when he said the word letter.
You then explained the existence of your cousin with a roll of your eyes and an embarrassed smile.
From that point on your conversation was much lighter and actually enjoyable. You both shared your annoyance at everyone's expectation to have to marry to have a life worth living. You then shared your struggle specifically as a woman. Marrying a man basically meant selling yourself to another man after you belonged to your father. It's like being an object.
Surprisingly, he actually agreed and talked about feminism and how much he appreciated women, especially his mother who solely cared for him since he was little.
He then explained how he definitely didn't want to meet the person who wrote that letter and expected an awful evening, but his mother encouraged him to at least try to meet a girl for once. This then ended in you talking shit about your cousin and him laughing about it.
It's the first time you talked to someone who actually shared your opinion. Of course, you knew those people existed, there was a wave of feminist women nowadays, calling themselves 'flappers' and even some men supported it. But you were never able to meet any of them, the only people you met were the same old, sheltered relatives of yours or their acquaintances.
You did have a thirst for knowledge though, which was the reason you knew about all of this in the first place, even when you were supposed to only associate yourself with a certain circle of people.
But you loved to read books you weren't supposed to and you loved to express yourself through art, when you weren't supposed to.
You tried learning basic self-defense too, but it wasn't easy through words alone and nobody wanted to teach you, because it was 'unlady-like'.
Alastor listened to you talking with a smile and nodded. He then explained how he hung around Jazz bars pretty often and got to know many beautiful feminist women there. You listened attentively. You heard about these places and wanted to go there for some time... Alastor noticed your interest and invited you to show you around one of these bars sometime.
You agreed with a genuine happy smile. This meeting was so unexpectedly nice. And you probably even made an actual friend for once.
"I do have to ask... you said you scare men away usually?" He asked and you nodded with a grin.
"So, how do you do that exactly?" He asked with a smirk while eating his steak.
"I usually just pretend to be a witch, a cannibal or a serial killer. Always works." You shrugged. Convincing men of these things over one date was actually easier than you'd think. And it did make sure they would never want to contact you again.
"Oh? But you're not, right?" He asked, his smile not wavering.
"Hmmm..." You obviously assumed his question to be a joke or rhetorical and answered, "No, I'm sadly not that interesting." You grinned and he gave you a weird grin back.
After the date, he walked you back to your house like a proper gentleman and kissed the back of your hand again when saying goodbye. He was a proper gentleman, not condescending or expectant of anything. This was definitely nice.
When you arrived back home you seemed surprisingly happier than your father or your brother expected you to be. They asked you how it went and you just said it went well and returned to your room.
...
One week later you met Alastor again in front of a local Jazz Bar. He politely offered to intertwine his arm with yours before entering the place.
Inside you were immediately greeted with...
"Alastor!!!" A small blonde girl hugged him with huge enthusiasm. He awkwardly patted her back.
"Aww!! Who is this sweet doll you brought with you?" The girl grinned at you.
"This is Y/N. A new friend of mine." Alastor introduced you to the short, chubby girl. You gave her a shy wave with your hand.
She immediately took your hand and dragged you into the club. "Well, Alastor's friends are my friends! You're pretty! Can you do the Charleston?" You blinked at her in confusion, looking around you, trying to find Alastor. You weren't used to people touching you or dragging you around this much... was this gonna go bad?
"Mimzy! How about you leave this lovely, little fellow to me, hm? She's still quite new to the scene." Alastor grinned at the girl and took your hand to guide you to him again. You sighed in relief. This girl seemed nice, but you didn't know her.
"Hmmm..." The girl glanced between you and Alastor with a thoughtful expression. "Alright! Does the new girl at least want some alc?" She grinned.
You politely told her the drink you wanted and Alastor just said 'the usual' with a dismissive wave of his hand and a smile. Mimzy nodded and left the two of you.
Alastor now led you to a private boot. You felt awkward. You were usually not too shy, but this situation was so unfamiliar.
"Hey..." You felt a hand on top of yours. "Relax." Alastor smiled at you. You nodded with a sigh.
Later Mimzy came back with a glass of your drink and a bottle of whiskey for her and Alastor. They ended up sharing the bottle with you after.
Mimzy smoked a cigar and encouraged you to try it, too - you did and though it was nice, you had to cough a lot.
Mimzy just giggled, calling you cute. Later she and Alastor showed you how to dance the Charleston. At first, you were embarrassed to try it, but after a couple of drinks, you were convinced.
After dancing for a while you sat back in the corner of the booth, Alastor smiling at you and pouring you another drink. "I'm grateful, but I think this is gonna be the last one." You tried not to slur your words too much and smiled at him, still out of breath and blushing from the dancing and the alcohol.
He nodded. "I'll walk you back home, of course." You smiled at him in gratitude.
This was probably one of the most enjoyable night you've had in a while. Though it probably was just a regular one for Alastor and his friend. You wondered if she was his girlfriend, she was pretty and he said he wasn't interested in romancing you.
Later when Alastor walked you home he gave you a small kiss on the cheek, despite this not being labeled as an actual date.
Alastor grinned at your face flushing in embarrassment and he asked you if you'd want to repeat the night. You enthusiastically agreed.

Another tag day, another snippet of NFL Buck. Back to Eddie's perspective! This time, we are delving into this au's version of his and Shannon's background and relationship. WOOO! (Every previous NFL Buck post can be found here) Enjoy!
Buck gave Eddie a very befuddled look, "Um, if this is your way of breaking up with me, I think you skipped a few major steps here." Eddie rolled his eyes, "Make sure the equipment manager gives you an extra thick helmet Buckley. All those previous head injuries are catching up to you." His boyfriend gave a half hearted glare, but didn't make a comment, allowing Eddie to explain. "They're for Shannon." "Ohhhh." Evan finally caught on and Eddie can't help but roll his eyes again. "I keep forgetting your un-repressed ass is still married to a woman." The jerk had the audacity to crack jokes and give Eddie a cocky grin. "And that makes you my mistress." Eddie fired back. "Meh." His boyfriend shrugged uncaring. Which is fair because he's the mistress who beat the odds and convinced the husband to leave his wife. Though did it count if the wife left first? Eddie shook his head, pushing aside that thought, knowing it would lead down an emotionally twisted path he didn't want to get into at the moment. Picking up the divorce papers, Eddie returned them to the manilla envelope labeled with only Shannon's name. "Look, with the move to Houston I am obligated to inform Christopher's mother of his whereabouts. I did the same when we moved to Austin, though back then I was hoping that by telling her we were out from under my parents roof, she would return." Buck grimaced, "Considering you showed up for our not-a-date, date, that didn't happen." Eddie nods, unable to meet the younger man's saddened gaze. The hurt and anger towards his soon to be ex-wife, was all twisted up with a healthy dose of guilt and the love he would always have for her. It felt unfair to Evan to still love her. His feelings towards Shannon used to be less complicated. Before Eddie bent under his parents expectations, she was one of his closets friends. Much like Buck, she was easy to talk to, made him laugh, and didn't pressured him to be anything more than himself. Eddie never did express his disinterest in girls to her or how his eyes tended to linger a little too long on some the guys on the football team (he has a type, repressed or not). The subject of girls and dating didn't come up, until his dad made an off hand comment about his son not bringing any dates home to meet. Eddie panicked. And when Eddie panicked, he came up with some awful ideas. Kissing Shannon after his baseball game because he knew she had feelings for him beyond friendship, was one his worst. Back then, Eddie hoped that treating Shannon as more than friend would lead to feelings of actual attraction and romantic love. It didn't. Further expectations, additional pressure lead to more panic and stupid decisions. Then one day during his senior year, Eddie found himself with a positive pregnancy test in hand and Shannon begging him for a solution. He was down on one knee with a ring his mother shoved into his hands two days later (Eventually Eddie would learn the silver band with a small lone diamond was a promise ring from Adriana's cheating ex.) Shannon said yes, Eddie's Uncle Paco ordained their wedding at the local rec center, and Christopher Edmundo Diaz was born May 8th, 2008, just after Shannon took her last final (her water broke as she handed in her math test). When Eddie held his son, he instantly knew, his entire heart belonged to this tiny little boy, but right on the heels of that love came the cold dredges of panic. On May 9th, 2008 Eddie acted upon yet another awful idea and signed up for the Army. Neither he nor Shannon made it to their high school graduation. Instead the first tear in their relationship was being formed with angry shouts, heartbroken sobs, and a hastily packed duffle tossed into an old truck.
I will admit, I am not the biggest Shannon fan, but I am not a Shannon basher either. Her and Eddie both made mistakes, and that will be shown in this au, as Shannon was a big part of Eddie's journey and the mother of his child. Hope you all enjoyed!

Tumblr media
Two letters sat in your mailbox, both stamped with the same sticker. You tried not to pass out when you read the return address, your heart dropping while standing in your driveway. You had gotten the mail when coming home from a quick grocery run, and the two letters from TopGun were staring menacingly back at you. You didn't open them, instead choosing to ignore that the letter could only mean one thing. You bit your lip, remembering that your period was still painfully late, and the thought jarred you. Jake still didn’t know you were 3 weeks late and you were still too scared to tell him about it. His car wasn’t in the driveway, and you clenched the letters in your hand tightly before getting back in your car.
You unloaded the groceries by yourself, not daring to ask Jake where he was through a text. Lately, he had been pretty inconsistent about telling you where he was. Maybe it was just your mind, but it was beginning to put you in a painful mindset of insecurity. You finished putting the new tin of butter in the fridge when your phone rang from the pocket of your leggings. You huffed and pulled it out, seeing Jake’s name flash across the screen. You slid the button across, trying not to put an annoyed tone on your voice.
“Hello?” You asked impatiently, realizing you did not succeed in not having a bite in your tone. Jake was quiet for a moment, probably taking notice of your tone. “Hey honey, did we get any letters today?”
You grinded your teeth, trying to think quickly of a response. Why would he be asking if he didn't know that TopGun was calling them? You shifted your weight from one foot to the other, but remained silent. He asked you if you were still on the line after a beat and you sighed heavily. “TopGun wants us back,” you told him, feeling like a weight had been lifted off your chest.
“Holy shit, it’s true!” He exclaimed, and you heard some rustling in the background. It sounded like he was at a bar, but you pegged that up to you just being paranoid.
“Jake–”
“Listen, hon, I gotta go. I’ll talk to you when I get home.”
The call cut off then, leaving you with a can of tomato sauce in your hand dumbstruck. He had just fucking hung up on you. The audacity. You were seething in anger as you shelved the rest of your groceries in the pantry, ignoring the incoming texts from Fanboy. He was freaking out about getting a letter from TopGun as well, and you breathed a sigh of relief knowing he would be there at least. You were only three weeks late, and you still didn’t even know if you were pregnant. You were banking on the fact you weren’t, because you and Jake had always used protection. As well as the fact you weren’t having regular pregnancy symptoms. You decided to just call Fanboy, and he instantly dove into why you guys could be called back. The possibilities were endless with him.
As he was talking, you opened your own letter. It had given you all the information about your dorm arrangement and you grinned at the fact you had got your previous bungalow from your original days at TopGun. You nodded along with Fanboy’s theories and ramblings, debating whether you should text Phoenix. “Have you talked to Jake about this?” He asked inquistively, the sound of him munching on pretzel sticks filling the silence as you thought about what to say.
“Sort of?” You began, choosing to be honest. “He called me and asked about us getting letters, but then hung up on me. He’s been super weird about where he’s been with me recently, it’s starting to scare me.” You hated the vulnerability in your voice, feeling the need to get out of your suddenly cramped kitchen. You trudged into your shared bedroom, shutting the door behind you. Fanboy was trying his best to give you advice, but it was clear even he was struggling with what to tell you. Jake had never acted like this towards you before.
“It’s not like we’re even married,” you grumbled with a salty tone after he finished talking. You put him on speakerphone, popping the wine cork. You poured yourself quite the hefty glass and waited on Fanboy to comment on how long you were pouring for. When it didn’t come, you listened to him try to justify Jake waiting a year to even bring up dates for your wedding after the engagement. Your lips pressed into a thin line as you stared at the band on your dainty finger, debating if you should take it off and leave it on your nightstand for him to see whenever he got home. Not like you knew what time that could be.
“Today’s the third night he’s been gone for more than three hours and has not told me where he’s been. He barely even talks to me on the phone.” Verbalizing your thoughts made you even more angry, and you gulped down your wine as fastly as you could. Before you knew it, a second glass was being poured, then a third.
You had fallen asleep in your wine-drunk state, the glass fallen over on the duvet. Little bits of white wine sploshed around at the bottom, and the bottle rested on the nightstand. You had taken your ring off before going to bed, because of how angry Jake not showing before you fell asleep had made you. The time was one in the morning when he walked into your shared home, the eerie quietness of the house putting him on edge instantly. Were you ok? Jake knew he had been doing a bad job communicating with you, but he needed his space right now. Or, at least, that’s what he was telling himself to justify his shitty behavior.
He opened the door to your shared bedroom, his eyes locking on to the wine glass. He furrowed his eyebrows, and his eyes darted around the room, observing. The bottle of wine rested on your nightstand, basically empty. It was a new bottle, too. He shifted over to your nightstand, holding the bottle up. His thoughts were confirmed when he realized you hadn’t bothered with the price tag, meaning it was new. You drank an entire bottle of wine by yourself? He reached for the glass, taking it off the bed and placing it beside the bottle. When he went to place it down and it hit something, he was even more confused.
His heart sank as he looked at the O-shaped object in the dark. There was your engagement ring, sitting beside the bottle of wine by itself. Not on your finger. Had he really pissed you off this much?. He reached for your phone next, which was in your hands. He carefully removed it, trying his hardest to not wake you up, and the bright screen made him groan softly. His eyes adjusted to the light, grinning at your lock screen. A selfie of you and him after a hike you had suggested. Fanboy had sent you three text messages thirty minutes ago. He bit his lip, only able to read the top one unless you unlocked your phone for him. It read, “I’m sorry. Every couple has their struggles, sleep tight. Hope the wine doesn’t give you that bad of a hangover.”
You both were due to return to TopGun tomorrow, and yet you won’t tell him why you’re mad. He was of course, thinking in a confused state of mind, not realizing he hadn't given you any time to explain our frustrations. So it was about me, he thought. He locked your phone and plugged it in your charger, and quickly stripped himself of his clothes.
He turned his brightness down as he climbed into bed beside your sleeping frame, and he settled on his usual side. It was especially odd for him to be awake when you were asleep. He had been with Rooster the past three nights, trying to figure out how the hell he was going to pull off the best wedding of his life. He had been putting it off due to your inconsistent jobs, but had decided the time was now. Then, the letter came in Rooster’s mail, and then yours. He hadn’t told you about him and Rooster because he wanted his effort to be more of a surprise to you. He wanted to woo you like he used to do all the time back when you were dating. He sighed, texting Rooster back that he had gotten home safe, and realized how shitty of a fiancé he had been the past week.
Jake couldn’t sleep, his inner voice rotting his brain. What if you chose to break off the engagement? He had to stop thinking, so he made his way into the kitchen and made himself a snack. When that didn’t help distract him, he packed his duffel bag for both of your departures tomorrow, and laid out your favorite clothes to make your packing easier. He had eventually fallen asleep in one of the living room chairs around 3:30, your favorite book open in his lap.
The bed was cold when you woke up, and you instantly thought of Jake not coming home. You grabbed your ring and selfishly slid back onto the finger, feeling disconnected without it. You pulled the duvet back and slid on your slippers, and padded down the stairs. As you made your way, your eyes caught sight of your handsome fiancé completely slouched over in your favorite reading chair. Not to mention your favorite book, To Kill A Mockingbird, lies in his lap. You smiled at the sight, making your way over to him carefully. As you made your way into the living room, you saw his Navy duffel all packed up, and your heart stopped. It resumed to beat when you looked over and saw your own lying beside it, your favorite clothes folded neatly in a pile beside it. You crossed your arms over your chest and gently shook Jake’s shoulder to awaken him. He slowly opened his eyes and rubbed the sleep out of them, his eyes falling on you. You stood about a foot away, wearing his Naval Academy T-shirt and a pair of plaid pajama shorts that were hidden because of the shirt. A closed smile grew on his lips and you cocked your head to the side.
 “Hi, handsome.”
“Mornin', honeybee.”
You blushed at his use of the nickname, and gave him a quick chaste kiss on the cheek. When you pulled back he grabbed your wrist, holding you close to him.
“I’m sorry about me closing out on you, just been really caught up. I wanna marry you, baby, and I was talking to Rooster about good venues and dates. I didn’t tell you because it was supposed to be a surprise, which was poor planning on my part.”
You reassured him it was okay a plethora of times, due to his inability of believing you. You gave him a kiss on the lips to seal your promise, which was quickly deepened by him. You tsked and pulled away from him, “You have morning breath, J.” He rolled his eyes and made his way upstairs to brush his teeth, pouting like a child as he stomped up the stairs.
  You both made your way to the TopGun base together in his truck, and you sighed contently at the scenery. Your house was only forty five minutes away from this naval base, because it meant so much to both of you. As well as the fact you’d both fallen in love with the area itself. Jake had profusely apologized for his askew actions the whole car ride, and you had finally shut him up by cranking the radio up over his voice. He took no offense, chucking at your antics. You took the time to look at his features in the outdoor light for the first time in a while. A white t-shirt gripped his muscled body, and his naval academy windbreaker was thrown casually over it. He wore one of his favorite pair of gym shorts, and his running shoes on his feet. His hand was stuck out the window, casually drumming along to the beat of the song blasting loudly. He was biting his lip in thought and not a blonde hair was out of line. Why were you so enthralled by him now?
TopGun had not changed one bit when you arrived, and Jake had been a chivalrous gentleman by carrying your duffel to the bungalow. The gesture was enough to bring you to tears, weirdly. He gave you a long kiss goodbye, which was broken up by Phoenix sliding her window open from the upstairs level. “Get a room!” She shouted jokingly as she stuck her head out the window, her bun slickly in place. Jake gave you one last kiss before slipping away from you and walking down to his shared bungalow with Rooster. Phoenix ran down the stairs quickly after, embracing you in a bone crushing hug. “I missed you, honey!” She gave you a platonic cheek kiss, before bounding off to show you her room. She had brought suprisingly a lot of decorations, and she was extremely proud to show it off. Yeah, maybe you did miss TopGun.
Pete Mitchell stood in front of the lectern, blabbering about how the F-18 manual was not going to help the pilots at all. You were distracted, watching as Jake gave Rooster a reassuring nod from beside him. Rooster was completely tensed up, practically staring daggers at Pete. His call sign was Maverick, and he had quickly hurried a crew onto the jets. When he called your sign and not Jake’s into the first group, you didn’t miss the way he threw glares at Pete. He knew you guys always flew together, and even the Navy wasn’t stupid to break your extremely talented duo up. You shrugged and walked by him, smiling when you heard Jake let out an almost undetectable whistle.
Maverick’s training exercise was gruesome, and you were feeling especially sick as your jet hit the ground. You were notorious for always being the last one to throw up in g-force exercises, but at this moment you felt like your liver was going to come up. You stumbled out of your jet, which was parked next to Phoenix’s and fell to your hands and knees, Your vomit spewed everywhere on the tarmac, and Phoenix quickly rushed to your side. She put your hair in a makeshift ponytail, her worried eyes flashing up to meet Rooster’s. You were nauseated, dizzy, and running a fever. “You’re ok,” she cooed comfortingly as Rooster ran to grab Jake. Maverick had landed his jet but was yet to notice your condition.
“I’m gonna pass out,” you told Phoenix before your head hit the tarmac abruptly, before she had time to catch you. Your fainting cancelled out the splitting pain that erupted from your head hitting the ground.
You woke up an hour later, hooked up to an IV. You woke up with a startled gasp, Jake’s eyes instantly meeting yours. He had his head in his hands, his foot tapping impatiently as a nurse checked the results of her test. He squeezed your hand and rose to stand over your hospital bed. “Can we have a moment?” He asked the nurse, and she nodded her head quickly before slipping out of the room. You didn’t miss the surprised expression on her face as she thumbed through the results. “Hey honeybee,” Jake greeted you with a soft tone, reaching to brush a hair out of your face. You melted into his touch and he slid his hand down to grasp your face before pulling a chair out. “Fuck, you scared me, baby,” he said. You looked up to meet his eyes for the first time, and it was a moment full of firsts. His flight suit was disheveled, which was never a thing for Jake. He prided himself on having the most pristine flight suit in the squadron, even around just you. His blonde hair was ruffled and hairs were sticking out in every direction, which was an inconceivable conception. Most shocking of all, his eyes were filled with dewy tears threatening to spill out.
“Baby, they think your pregnant,” he announced and a tear rolled down his face. Your heart thudded in your chest and you stopped breathing. Jake squeezed your hand, bringing you back to the moment at hand. “I’m crying fucking happy tears, just so you know,” he said through a throaty chuckle as he wiped tears from under his eyes. His long lashes were wet as he leaned in to place a kiss on your chapped lips. You were speechless and you went down to instinctively rub your belly. “I want you to go on this mission,” you told him as you pushed yourself up using your elbows. His eyebrows knitted together, going to protest. You held your hand up to stop him.
“This mission means the world to you, J. The squadron needs you. Rooster can’t do this without you. Besides,” you sent him a loopy grin, “I know I married the best aviator, I don’t need to worry about anything.” Jake’s cocky demeanor instantly took hold of his face at your ego boost, and he raised an eyebrow. “Oh is that now, sweetheart?” You nodded your head and sat in comfortable silence with him.
The nurse came back in a couple moments later and confirmed that you were actually pregnant. Jake grinned at the floor as you thanked the nurse for all of her help and signed your discharge forms. You were told to simply rest tonight, and the Navy was sending you back to the bungalow. After tonight, an escort would take you home to your house where you would spend the rest of your time until the mission was over. Penny’s house was only twenty minutes from yours, and you knew you could call her if problems arose. She had her own daughter, so you knew she would be happy to help with any issue. You two had hit it off when you and Jake originally graduated from TopGun, but had lost contact when you were stationed. But now, you had all the time in the world to hang out with her.
The rest of the squadron came to see you tucked into your bungalow bed. Phoenix was on her self proclaimed guard duty, claiming you needed to be in the maximum amount of comfort possible. You rested your head on Jake’s shoulder, as he had slid into your bed before the group stopped by. Fanboy brought you a bouquet of flowers, and placed a kiss on your cheek before wishing you the best possible pregnancy. Jake stared at him after the kiss, and you quickly elbowed him for his antics. Coyote and Payback showed up at the same time, Coyote with a chocolate heart box and Payback with a stuffed small teddy bear. Rooster brought you a card with an olive garden gift card inside, knowing how hard pregnancy cravings could hit. Of course, Phoenix had spoiled you with chocolates and flowers, knowing how shitty you felt. Bob, the sweetest human that society has, brought you two boxes of chocolates and a heating pad. “My sister suggested it,” he said nervously as he put it down in front of you. You instantly broke into tears at the gesture, and Hangman aggressively sprung towards you when he saw the interaction.
“Why the fuck did you make my fiancé cry?” His protective streak rose up from his chest, and Bob instantly paled at his angry face. His blue eyes were narrowed and he sized Bob up. Jake had always been protective over you, but it was like it had intensified when he knew you were pregnant.
“Jake, I’m crying because he got me a heating pad,” you told him as you feebly held it up for him to see.
“Oh.” Jake said, instantly backing down from his size up. “Sorry Bob!”
Bob nodded and quickly moved to get himself a large glass of water, frightened from Hangman’s tone. Deep down everyone admired how much he cared about you, and they were glad that you had someone who was like that. He was the perfect man for you.
“Thank you for everything, ‘Tash,” you said as the night settled down and the aviators all talked amongst themselves, and Jake had fallen asleep on your shoulder. The soft in and outs of his breathing was enough to comfort you and get you to relax, because the fact that you were carrying a child was enough to put you into a tizzy. She smiled and gave you a soft hug before retreating to her own bed upstairs. Jake stirred, before waking himself up. “Let me hold you,” he whispered lovingly as he shifted you into his arms. “I love you,” he said before crashing back into a content sleep.

can you do riri x reader where they go to mall and riri buys/ gifts the reader a promise ring
I love you baby
Riri Williams x poc FEM reader
Tumblr media
Gif created by me @azailslink
Summary: "you got me a promise ring" she nods as she gently grabs your hand but all you can do is laugh "I'm sorry but that's some white people shit you couldn't have just you know promised me what you were going to promise me?'
Christmas. Riri loves this time of the year while you're not upset by it just not too fond of the constant shopping for people you don't really like to get gifts they might not like. "Babe you do know your mother is getting twenty dollars for Christmas?" You laugh at the random question "why is that?" She hums "well your mother is picky and she's not about to curse me out because I got her a carpet or something" you laugh and kiss her hand "I think we need to up it to forty dollars remember when she walked in on us?" Riri immediately closes her eyes "I don't want to relive that right now" you laugh "then she had the audacity to go 'Riri is the top!?' not only did we scar her we confused her....you give her twenty I buy her some bath and body works." She nods "okay I can deal with that."
She catches herself staring at you when you turn and stare back "I know I'm finer than wine but you ain't got to stare at something that's already yours" she immediately bursts into laughter "okay miss finer than wine how you getting your nails done?" You shrug and smile at her "does it really matter? As long as they look good around your neck I think they're fine." She looks you up and down and kisses your hand she glances at your third finger but quickly back up at you "I'll pay for your nails imma continue to do some shopping you smile and nod giving her a quick peck on her lips.
When you leave her side she takes a quick stride to the ring store and looks at the rings "I could buy her a ring pop and she'd love me forever... She's going to hate this." She talks to the woman behind the counter and she just smiles and explains that she already has a ring here waiting and the woman goes to look for it "Riri Williams right?" She glances over looking at the woman how the fuck she knows my name? "That's the name you gave me over the phone miss" oh she nods and her smile quickly returns to her face "yeah" she hands her a box and she smiles at it as she opens it. She could upgrade it when she decides to marry you but this was only one of the first rings she'd be gifting you. She decides to get you some Chinese food before walking to the nail shop inside the mall she overhears your all too recognizable voice "she's amazing I'm glad you asked she's a bit of a control freak but Mrs. Lin I think I love her." The woman filing your nail screeches "no way love her!?" You smile and nod "I couldn't ask for anyone better" you feel a kiss on your cheek causing you to jump "Riri you make her jump! You gone pay if I mess up!?" Mrs. Lin causes Riri to laugh "Mrs. Lin I'm paying anyways you know she boujee she doesn't pay for half of the things when she's with me I'm using all my work money." You laugh at the bold-faced lie she just said you're paying for most of everything while she's paying for your nails.
"Oh is that food?" she nods and Mrs. Lin looks over "so you buy no one else food?" Riri laughs and shrugs "I may have got you a little something Mrs. Lin" she digs through the bag and gives her a tiny to-go box "don't tell Mr. Li he'll ban us again for feeding you after midnight" Mrs. Lin does not find your joke funny however your girlfriend finds it hilarious as she covers her face and laughs "she called you a fucking gremlin!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you two finally get back to the comfort of your apartment you're on the floor wrapping gifts for your siblings and family. "Babe bring some tape!" Riri comes behind you and back hugs you it immediately brings a smile to your face but instead of placing tape in your hand she places a black box "baby that's not tape..." Shuri sighs "open the damn box" you do as told and smile at the ring "it's cute who's it for?" Riri has never wanted to kick you down the stairs more in her life than right now. "It's for you...dumbass it's a promise ring like I promise to be with you for at least another year" you laugh "girl you ain't going nowhere but I'll take it... Riri how much was this?" She snatches the box and grabs the ring putting it on your finger and kissing it "don't worry about that." You stare her down "you bet not have paid more than 100 for this ring" she nods slowly "like said uhm... Right here's that tape" She tosses you the tape and runs out of the room leaving you just laugh at her "I'm serious Riri Williams!" Riri yells from a distance "I love you baby!"
pairing: Niko/Kenny of Beta Squad
summary: For Niko's wedding day, he asked Kenny to be his bestman. How would Kenny have the audacity to deny the offer? He would do it in a heartbeat. But somehow, for reasons Kenny hoped would fade as they grew, he hoped that he would do it without a heavy heart. He had hoped that the love he felt for Niko would fade. Maybe not.
[angst, unrequited love, hurt/no comfort]
Tumblr media
"Kenny, Kenny, Ken!" Niko shouted at Kenny.
They had just finished filming for a Beta Squad video, and everyone had already left the set except for Niko and Kenny and some of the remaining staff. They had planned to go out for lunch together. Just to catch up on what's going on with their lives. Niko was busy with his girlfriend. It was the only topic they talked about whenever they're together or with the boys.
So it wasn't a surprise when they went for that lunch at Nando's, that Niko told Kenny that he already proposed to Sophia, and obviously she said yes. But what was actually surprising was when Niko told Kenny that he wanted Kenny to be not just a groomsman, but the best man. Kenny thought that Niko would ask George, or any other person that's not Kenny. Niko has plenty of friends after all.
"What?" Kenny had told Niko, with mouth filled with coke.
"I want you to be my best man. I'm going to tell the boys to be my groomsmen on Tuesday when we go out for dinner. Back me up on this?" Niko had never sounded so serious before.
A little bit of unwelcomed feelings erupted inside Kenny. As rude, and as mean as it sounds, Kenny hoped that Niko would not go into the stage of marriage. But that's just his selfishness talking, he truly wanted himself to be happy for his brother, Niko helped him alot, and Kenny really just wanted him to be happy. And unfortunately, Niko was happiest when he's with Sophia.
How long has it been since Kenny realised that what he felt for Niko wasn't a casual brotherly love? Kenny hoped, he really hoped, that that foolish feelings would fade as they both grew up into the men they are. But it was sad to say, love is a very complicated feeling and it is a very hard thing to control. Kenny had always found "love" in terms of romantics, a curse. It only brought misfortune. It only punched Kenny in the gut, always left him awake at night and unable to sleep. Every second of his life, like a fog in his mind, like a shadow that never leaves him alone, the same smile kept appearing in his head, the same laugh and voice kept ringing in his ear.
Kenny, at some point, might've reached the point of insanity because of it. But the man who made him crazy, was also the man who helped him heal. If that wasn't a curse, then what is? Kenny had been cursed by the greatest curse of all. And Kenny hoped it would stop, but he wouldn't be lying when he said he loved every single second of that internal suffering.
"Me? Best man?" Kenny said. It was a great privilege to be chosen as a groomsman, it showed that they are very important to the groom. Best man was more than that. Kenny would've expected Niko to choose his brother as the best man. That would've made more sense.
"Kenny, why are you so surprised? Didn't we talk about this back when we were kids? You know I'll never go back on my words. We promised each other that we'll be each other's biggest supporters. When we get married, we'll be there giving cringey, silly speeches, and we'll be each other's best man. Nothing changed since then; you'll always be my most important friend, Ken."
Kenny felt a lump form in his throat. Indeed they did. They promised each other that whatever happens in the future, they'll always be by each other's side. Through thick and thin, and through all the ups and downs in life, they'll go through it together. That was what they promised, and when they made that promise, Kenny brought up marriage for reasons Kenny couldn't remember why. Maybe Kenny was already knees deep in love with Niko at the time.
When Kenny brought up marriage, Niko continued it because Niko's aunt had just gotten married a week before that, so Niko somehow knew everything about weddings. It was his first wedding where he could actually remember and understand what was going on. Kenny had only went to two weddings at that stage of time, and it was when he was still a toddler, and as a child that couldn't understand what was going on. So Niko explained everything to Kenny about it. Bridesmaids and groomsmen, and finally to the topic of the best man.
Niko had said about how a best man is the groom's most trusted person, where if anything goes wrong with the event, or the marriage, or just with the groom's life, and the groom wasn't able to say anything to his family or wife, he would be able to tell his best man. The most important person in the groom's life (with an exception of parents and obviously, wife). That is the best man. And like children, they gave a pinky promise to each other, how they would be each other's best man when they get married. Because at the time, and until then, even until now, they are and always will be each other's most important person.
Just by the thought of it, Kenny almost teared up. They had grown up so much, from those little kids that are just horrible at academics and school, boys that dropped out of university without two shits about their future, and ended up being lectured by their parents. How they would get out of the house to see each other despite being grounded, and when they came home, they'd be hit by their moms. Now, Niko's getting married, having a family.
Time flies very fast, but Kenny's love for Niko stays the same. Never moving, and not slow, not fast either. Unwavering like a statue.
"I just thought you'd choose your brother, or George."
"I thought about that as well, but my mind always comes back to you. You know me better than anyone, I know you better than anyone. We even promised each other, there's a lot of reasons to choose you. So, do you....?"
"Of course I'll be your best man, Niko. I'm so happy for you man. Congratulations. "
Niko smiled, and just hummed and continued eating.
"So when's the wedding?"
"Next year, probably around July, the actual date..don't know yet but it's either 23 or 24."
"Alright."
___________
The actual date was 24 July, and the whole venue was very beautiful. The groomsmen and Kenny wore grey suits, the bridesmaid also grey but a bit more sparkly. Sharky said it was silver. Kenny couldn't care less. Which was very irresponsible, and very mean of him, considering the fact that he's the best man.
Kenny and the whole team had a very tough time trying to make everything perfect, especially when there are so many people in the team. Sophia had 8 bridesmaids, and groomsmen the same amount. And all of them have a very dominant clash of personalities, just like Niko and Sophia. They both have very different tastes, Niko liked it when it's simpler, he loved the greens and wished that there would be a lot of plants. Sophia wanted a lot of lights and candles, with a few flowers, but mostly modern. It was hard to take both into consideration. But everything went well in the end, except for Chunkz who ended up with a small spark of hatred towards one of Sophia's bridesmaids.
They were all in their separate rooms now, a few minutes left until people started coming in. Niko's parents and family members, also Sophia's were all greeting the guests. Some of the groomsmen and bridesmaids were also welcoming the guests and double checking everything.
The only ones in the room with Niko are Kenny, George, and Sharky.
Kenny was adjusting Niko's bow, a habit the two always shared whenever they had to wear formal clothing -it was usually a tie, now Niko's wearing an actual tuxedo for his marriage- when Niko started speaking.
"I'm scared, you know?"
Kenny looked up, George was at the back making sure Niko's outfit was neat. Sharky was there taking pictures, also helping from time to time. For moral support.
"Don't be scared. It's your big day! You should be happy."
Kenny meant every word. Between the two of them, at least one had to be happy, at least one of them had to be brave. Kenny's not the one to do all that. All the time Kenny spent preparing everything, calling up people, discussing with the wedding planners, every single second was like a stab to the side of his stomach. It's not an instant death, but it really fucking hurt.
But Kenny could never bring himself to dislike Sophia, because Niko was never his to begin with. Kenny never said anything to Niko, he kept his feelings locked away. Kenny only had himself to blame. Plus, Sophia also became a very good friend of Kenny, she was sweet and kind, he can see why Niko fell for her. She was a very strong woman, stern and powerful, just like Niko. Kenny knew Niko liked powerful people just like him, he liked it when people stood up for themselves and when they're confident in their own body.
That was one of the reasons why Kenny considered boxing in the first place, if Niko could see how strong he was, how powerful he was, maybe, Niko would fall for him too. High hopes result in the highest of disappointments they say.
"You brought a napkin, right Ken? Cause I think I'm going to cry."
Kenny laughed, even while he was hurting inside, Niko would always bring a smile to his face. Like it had always been.
"I brought two, cause I think I'm going to cry too."
The four men in the room started laughing. When Niko looked neat and tidy. Kenny took a step back, so did George. Sharky was already far so he didn't need to.
Niko looked at himself in the mirror.
"Okay. We have to leave now, don't wrinkle up your fit and-" Niko's hands were on their way to touch his bowtie. "Do not touch that as well." Kenny said as he slapped Niko's hand playfully.
"You're happy for me, right Ken?" Niko didn't know why he asked that. But he felt like he needed to say it, needed to confirm that Kenny was completely happy for him. Niko already knew the answer, but he wanted to hear it. Niko felt like he also needed some sort of confirmation from Kenny, Niko's excited to have a life with Sophia, but he wanted Kenny to be happy too. Happy for him. Because everything that Niko did in his life, before he even met Sophia, Niko's first priority is to make sure Kenny's not disappointed in him, that Kenny is also happy for him.
Kenny is half his soul, before he realised that there was more to his soul than just half. There was plenty of room, and Sophia filled the empty spaces.
Kenny couldn't answer with a yes or no. Because he knew his honest feelings, he knew the answer, and he didn't want to say it.
"Stop asking stupid questions, Niko. I know you're nervous, but you'll be fine. "
Of course Kenny would mock him. It wasn't an answer Niko wanted, but it was an answer from Kenny. And Kenny ended it with his laugh that always brightens up Niko's mood.
"Okay. You guys go now. See you guys. " Niko said with a full grin.
The three men left the room and went to where the others were.
On their way to the aisle, to stand besides the groom. Kenny's head was just replaying the speech he needed to make in front of the guests, and in front of the married couple.
"My brother Niko,"
"My brother Niko,"
"My brother Niko."
Kenny had to make sure he wouldn't let any unwanted, and honest words slip out of his tongue. When he practised the night before the wedding. Like the pathetic, sad sack man that he was, he tried saying, "My lover, Niko." It sounded so beautiful, he kept saying it the whole night.
It sounded magical, so perfect, but so wrong.
When Kenny saw Niko looking at Sophia, who was so beautiful by the way, walking down the aisle. Kenny had lost all hope for his own happiness, and only hoped for Niko's.
Because like night and day, you can't experience both at the same time, and maybe in this lifetime. They were both too impossible to happen.
Perhaps the world destined Niko to be gifted all the happiness in the world, and Kenny was the one who held their suffering. But seeing Niko happy was enough for Kenny, even though it wasn't his own. Life is so unfair sometimes, but Kenny was used to it anyway.
He didn't mind.
Kenny's a very good liar.
"-my brother from another mother, Niko.."
── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Don't forget me, I beg,
I'll remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love,
but sometimes it hurts instead."
end.
G Witch episode 17 thoughts
The one where everything goes wrong (but I like angst so we're cool gwitch, I luv u)
It's late, I'm braindead and emotionally everywhere with this episode but that's just an average Suletta Sunday. Let's go!
Tumblr media
We saw this coming a mile away but it's still tough to watch Mio fall right into Prospera's machinations, even if she's aware. She just loves Suletta so much and wants her free, striking a deal with this metaphorical devil to do it. But faustian bargains never come without a heavy price.
Already posted some of my thoughts about this on twitter but there's more room to ramble here so you all will suffer for it. It's so clever and painful for these two to be having two separate convos happening at the same time; a common theme with them like we see in ep10. Mio seems resigned but still checks if Suletta will voluntarily cede Aerial without a duel. Suletta, believing she's being tested after their previous conversation, states firmly she won't. Her desire for Mio''s approval is so blatant, with the added subtext of 'Yes, there are precious things I can't give up.' Aerial is one of them, and I think we'll see Mio is the other. Her little shy looks at Mio are so cute ;-;
Tumblr media
Shaddiq is being... Shaddiq. I am wondering what his end goal for gundams will be considering as far as we know, Aerial is the only one that doesn't take a pilot's life. Is he so convinced they're the future for Earthian liberation? It's a quick but interesting bit of intrigue.
Tumblr media
LMAO GET WRECKED 5LAN. This was hilarious and a long time coming. I was getting really sick of his predatory antics. Looks like he well and truly burned any lingering fondness. Interesting he lets slip he's not the same Elan though. I wonder if she caught that? Guel coming in clutch for the save was a neat callback to ep1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Too bad for Guel, Suletta is completely down bad for short sassy girlbosses. This convo was quite endearing though since Guel accepts her rejection without a fuss. He even seems to support her feelings for Miorine and vice versa, as we see later. I suspect it's this exchange which prompts Miorine to bargain with him; her support of Jeturk/hand in marriage in exchange for his company backing. It was a tough decision for her to make, returning to a man she despised over love, but the Guel here is very different from ep1 Guel.
Tumblr media
GOD, If this doesn't sum up her motivations in a nutshell. She wants Suletta free and happy. Away from her manipulative mother, from gundams, from Benerit; everything Mio does is for Suletta, including trading her own freedom in return and marrying a man she doesn't love. There's something to be said for her martyrdom blinding her to the truth that Suletta loves her just as fiercely. I imagine Mio thinks she's doing what's best for Suletta, that she can move forward without her. Of course, we know the truth. I'm weak for them ;-;(There's also a deep irony when you realize she's effectively doing the same thing as Delling)
Tumblr media
I was wondering if Guel would have ptsd after earth, and the answer is OH YEAH. He was a mess. War does a number on you, even if logically you know this is just a duel. I felt bad for him, but I'm glad the show depicted this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THIS. WAS. SO. RUDE. You can't just reveal Suletta was daydreaming about their future wedding while the godforsaken BIRTHDAY SONG plays. I had to watch that multiple times because of the sheer audacity. And Mio's shaking hands as Suletta basically proposes?? It was too much but hurt so good.
Tumblr media
This was interesting though. Before Mio cuts Aerial's power, Eri apologizes. Did she know and was complicit? We read in Cradle Planet Eri wants Suletta to be free of Prospera's revenge, so did she allow this plan because it would give Suletta freedom? I like to think so, tragic as it is.
Tumblr media
I knew that visor had something to do with GUND. Something tells me this will be the catalyst to getting Miorine an eye implant. (The ED told me)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Utena parallels aside, this moment was telegraphed from the first conversation between them this episode. I've seen many malign Mio over this, completely ignoring she's making what she *thinks* is the best decision for Suletta.
Is it hypocritical? Unfair? Sure. But it's hardly nonsensical or sudden. She's overly harsh because she believes it'll free Suletta from her entirely. Suletta won't fight for her if she thinks Mio never cared. We the audience know she's being played - Mio knows it too - but she still thinks this is the only way to sever Suletta from her mother. She was faced with a terrible choice and is deciding to be selfless. My heart aches for them both.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was masterclass in heartbreak, gotta admit. She was twisting that knife. I understand the anger somewhat, but look at the bigger picture here. We can still see Suletta return cool-san, maybe on one knee?
I can't wait until next week when... whaz tha? you say it's TWO WEEKS?! 🫠🫠🫠
Simeon dad content with BoF!MC (obey me au/ 💜 anon's au)
Barbatos October poll post (monster kink) pt. 2 - aftercare version
Poly DiaLuci asking gn!MC out
MC returning the favor and giving roses back (the others) (I'm not sure if you meant "the others" grouping/everyone but the brothers or others in general, but because it'll probably take me a long time for this one, I'll start with the others grouping)
Finding out MC used to be aggressive in high school but has since mellowed out (the dateables)
MC who doesn't talk unless necessary headcanons (the brothers)
Luke telling MC he wants to marry them when he's older fluff (This should go without saying but 100% platonic with no room for romantic interpretations)
MC character study
I am going to try to pick one of the shorter ones and get started on it tonight (I always have so much trouble picking something to start). I already have ideas written down for the Simeon x Barbatos x MC angst, though.
And remember, if you don't see your request but you sent one in, you will have to resend it because this is everything so far. Additionally, if you notice something wrong in the interpretations of these asks, you're welcome to correct that. I'll edit/update this post periodically until requests close.
Requests close at the end of Sunday, November 5th PST. It may take a while to get through all of them since I will probably only post once or twice a week throughout November - it just depends on what I can get through.
Could I request reader who is platonic soulmates with Legend? Either headcannons or a story whichever you prefer.
~ 🍀
Of course you can! I'm doing headcannons because I'm having a hectic week. But if you decide you want a story too, feel free to let me know
Legend dosen’t care that you're platonic soulmates, you're still soulmates and anyone who disrespects that is gonna catch his hands
He loves you so much, you're his matching half.
He fully supports any romantic relationship you get into
You're his family, and you might as well be his sibling for how much he loves you
There isn't much he wouldn't do to keep you safe and happy
If anyone assumes you're a romantic soulmate set, he will correct them. If they have a problem with it he's starting a fight
He tells the chain about you, and is surprised that they are so accepting
I feel like even if you live in a progressive time there are always going to be assholes who are homophobic or assume all soulmates are romantic
But he always reminds you why that dosen’t matter
You are his plus one to everything.
You all probably live together
He does teach you to fight but says you're welcome to ask him for help too
He likes to mess with you though, lots of noogies and playful banter
He has your favorite meal and git drink memorized
Gifts you things he finds on adventures
Does give the shovel talk to anyone you date : Don't hurt them or I swear to Hylia I'll feed you to the hogs
Legend likes when you sing, it lets him know that you're happy.
Of anyone tries to ask you to stop singing or Hylia forbid tries to shame you for it? Rage. He's amazed at their audacity and will put them in place
Look Legend dosen’t actually want to fight all the time, he just- it's become the safer response
If you take time to help him realize that he's home and safe he'll appreciate it forever
I can see both of you pranking Zelda, citing that she needs to have more fun
If he ever gets married to someone you are either is best man/woman OR walking him down the aisle.
You guys have sleep over nights even though you probably live together. You'll make a pillow fort in the living room and talk all night
He's not the most openly affectionate but if you like physical affection he'll try to get better about it
If your family is awful he's helping you cut them out
If your family is awesome he's getting himself adopted as fast as he can
If you like spicy food he's trying to find your limit (he'll stop if asked)
Calls you all sorts of Nicknames from 'that bitch' to 'light of my life'
You two are the trouble makers of town, and on April fools you go all out.
If either of you have kids the other one is involved in their lives.
You're his emergency contact.
He'll help you dye your hair
Legend swears up and down he's never had pink hair and everyone imagined it (you know he's a liar but go with it)
If you ever meet the chain and he isn’t visible you're trying to fight then becuase they're obviously liars. (They think this is hilarious)
Legendary would come out after you started to try to fight then and just be like : (Y/n) wtf?
Overall, he's your best friend and biggest supporter
About T'pril and her attitude, thinking about things from her POV made me feel for her just a tiny bit. Like not MUCH at all but think about it:
She raised T'pring who is an outstanding person, but it doesn't seem like they have much in common. T'pring struggles to spend time with her mother and, sure, that's because time with T'pril seems to be a lot like swallowing vinegar -- and she knows that, knows her daughter's mind and understands why her company is not preferred. It was played for laughs, but it was actually kind of sad.
And T'pring's career? Something tells me she got some grief from T'pril about wanting to work with social outcasts.
So T'pring is distant and has a high stress job that's potentially dangerous, and T'pril's husband is a checked-out yes man.
And then her daughter is betrothed to someone from the S'chn T'gai family, who are famous and infamous on Vulcan and, well, everywhere. Sure the connection to Sarek is good for her husband's career etc., but the S'chn T'gais are very much THAT family in Vulcan society. There's political intrigue, assassination plots, the danger posed by murderous Vulcan separatists, constant contact with aliens, illegitimate and/or missing children who are never spoken about, every chance one might run into T'pau at a family gathering -- and let's not forget that her daughter's prospective father-in-law married a human, and T'pring's betrothed is a half-human in Starfleet doing Surak knows what, who is currently being shunned by his father.
I mean, whew. That's a lot for one woman from a moderately high status(?) Vulcan family to process.
And then there's Amanda, a human who joined the S'chn T'gais and has seemingly thrived there and in her life on Vulcan which, according to T'pril and Vulcans like her, mere humans should not be able to do. So Amanda is formidable and Sarek's family history is ... a considerable challenge. Given all that, you would think she would be on best behavior, but T'pril doesn't try to blunt her xenophobia one bit. Why?
I think her antagonism is based in fear and the fact that she's intimidated by the whole situation, and by Amanda, who has never behaved the way T'pril expected a human to behave. Amanda was not overly emotional and failed to react emotionally to constant criticism and insults, and what's more she had the audacity to treat T'pril kindly, gently thanking her at the conclusion of the ceremony -- which T'pril had to endure in a human environment, in enemy territory.
After watching those scenes again I'm sure that this is how Amanda dealt with T'pril from the start of their relationship: with an excess of grace, and patience, like T'pril was someone else's misbehaving child who didn't know any better. Which is fair and accurate, but also infuriating to T'pril, because how could she, and by extension her daughter, ever measure up? And after that first misstep, during some first meeting between the families where she made her disdain for Spock and Amanda clear, what could she do but double down in an effort to save face? Because how could they fit in with the S'chn T'gais, a family of intergalactic players who were sure to look down on them for being provincial, ordinary racists? In T'pril's mind they couldn't, they won't, they're doomed!
Michael Sheen is portraying Aneurin 'Nye' Bevan - the man who spearheaded the creation of the National Health Service (NHS) - in the National Theatre's latest play, aptly named Nye.
Written by Tim Price, the production, according to the National Theatre, takes the audience on a "surreal and spectacular journey through the life and legacy of the man who transformed Britain's welfare state".
But, as the Welshman tells ITV News, the timeliness of the show's release has taken on extra importance given the modern-day pressures felt by the NHS and, what he feels, is the need for radical change.
Sheen said: "I think the NHS has to be reimagined I suppose in many ways.
"The kind of audacity of Bevan's vision and the drive and the determination to bring those fundamental beliefs about: you shouldn't be denied basic healthcare because of your lack of means."
He added: "We really don't want it to go back to the way it was.
"We talk about people having surgery without anaesthetic because they couldn't afford it, I mean just awful, awful stories and we cannot let things go back to that."
Audiences can enjoy performances of the play at the National Theatre, in London, up until Saturday May 11, before it moves to the Wales Millennium Centre, in Cardiff, for several weeks.
And, in a quirk organisers hope will entice greater viewing interest, the production is also available to watch in selected cinemas.
Dame Helen Mirren starred in the 2009 production of Phedre, which was then the first play to be broadcast in cinemas across the UK.
She explained to ITV News the importance of bringing such shows to the big screen, enabling future generations to watch what she hailed as "incredible performances".
"Having spent a lot of my career in theatre, having seen incredible performances you know witnessed them on stage, acted with the person or sitting in the audience and thinking future generations will never know how brilliant this performance was, was always very heartbreaking for me.
"Of course, theatre and film are two completely different disciplines and it's a strange marrying of the two, but at least to save great performances, great plays, great productions for future generations is one very important element."
Asked about the play's importance in highlighting work done by the NHS, Sheen recounted how an early performance demonstrated a real-life example of the healthcare provided by staff.
He said: "Funnily enough on one of the earlier performances someone, unfortunately, got taken quite ill in the theatre and it was towards the end of the play and we had to bring the lights up and everything and stop the play.
"And someone said 'Is there a doctor in the house?' and there was about fifty of them!
"So, yes, it's well attended anyway. And I meet people outside of the stage door you know saying 'I've been working in the NHS for thirty years or more' and they're so moved by the production and they just want to say 'thank you for doing it'.
"But I mean it's just an opportunity to say 'thank you' to them for their service."
Accidentally Dating (9)
Summary: A series of accidental dates and meetings between Kagome and Satoru over the years.
Pairing: KagomexGojo
Series Master list
Satoru huffs as he walks behind Suguru. This mission honestly should have been given to the second years.
It's so boring. A waste of time in his opinion for him and Suguru to be assigned to this. They are the strongest! Shouldn't they be doing cooler missions? Something worth some effort? So, what if he and Suguru are only first years? They're stronger than the second years and the third years combined.
Even InuYasha is stronger than the second years.
"Stop pouting," Suguru says, "The faster you take this seriously, the faster we get this done." Suguru huffs as he stuffs his hands in his pockets.
"Tch. Whatever." He rolls his eyes and then comes to a stop. Wait a damn minute. That feels like Kagome. She never said she was gonna be back today. Did she come back and not tell him?
The audacity. She knows he needs to know when she comes back home from the past. He doesn't care what hour it is. He doesn't care if he's on a mission or not; he wants to be the first person to know when she is back.
And she didn't even send him a text message.
The. Audacity.
"What's wrong?" Suguru walks over to him and then looks over at the girls running track. "Seriously?" He sighs. "We aren't here to pick up girls. We have a mission to do."
"GOME-CHAN!" Satoru calls, smirking when she nearly falls over. Kagome glares and jogs over to him.
He blinks. Have her legs always been that long? And what kind of outfit is that? She may as well be wearing underwear. And why is her hair up in a high ponytail? She's showing everyone how elegant her nape is. Where is the decency? Doesn't she realize she's surrounded by a bunch of horny teenagers? She can't be walking around like that.
Satoru bites his tongue. He outta tell Dad and Mom about this.
"Satoru? What are you doing here?" She crosses her arms. Her high ponytail and bangs are a combo he didn't know he needed, though she should only wear that around him.
Wait. He gives himself a mental shake. Now is not the time.
"Investigating. You didn't call me." He pokes out his bottom lip and wobbles it just for show. She should be more considerate of his feelings. "Or text me."
"It was so early when I got in." Kagome shrugs.
"So?" What does she mean by it was so early? He doesn't care how early or late it is. He wants to know when she is back. "I don't care what time it is. You could have called me. I would have stopped by."
"Um, hi?" Suguru says, giving Satoru a look that says they will talk later.
"Hi! I'm Higurashi Kagome. Satoru and I go way back." Kagome smiles at Suguru.
"Gojo," Satoru huffs. Is she still introducing herself as Higurashi? Even Mom jokingly calls herself Gojo here and there. Sota still calls himself Higurashi only to carry on the legacy.
"She knows who you are." Suguru shakes his head. "Geto Suguru."
"No, her name is Gojo Kagome. Last I checked, we never got divorced."
"We never got married either."
"I'm not the one holding up the ceremony."
"You never even asked."
"Ask? I said —"
"Stop!" Suguru interrupts, pressing a hand to his temple. "I missed some milestones. Wife? How do you have a wife when you are only 15?"
"I'm not his wife," Kagome says, shaking her head.
"You said you were."
"We were like 11."
"So, you admit it."
"Toru," she warns.
"Where's the rest of your outfit?" He motions with his hand. How long has she been running around in that getup? Is that why she didn't want to tell him she was back? She must have known she'd be wearing this today. Satoru frowns. Is it another guy?
Nah. Kagome wouldn't see another guy. She has him.
She glances down and frowns. "This is the gym uniform."
Uniform? That is not a uniform. His outfit? Yes. Her outfit? Absolutely not.
"Where's the principal? I need to talk to em."
Suguru grips his shoulder. "We have things to do, Satoru."
"Ehhh, nothing is more important than Kagome, and that is not a uniform. Look at those boys ogling her," Satoru rants, and then pauses. He presses his face close to Suguru. "And where are your eyes looking?" His temple throbs. Has Suguru been checking Kagome out this whole time? He glares. Suguru isn't fooling him. Kagome is his type.
Suguru better not be getting ideas. He saw that smile Suguru flashed at Kagome.
"I'm the only one focused on the mission!" Suguru huffs and pushes against Satoru's chest. "Did you forget why we came here?"
"Tch." Satoru directs his attention back to Kagome.
"Kagome!" some girls yell, running over to her. Satoru inhales. Why are they coming over here? Can't they see that he and Kagome are having a conversation?
"Whoa!" a girl with short black hair exclaims. "Are you new here?" She leans forward and Satoru grimaces. Why is she so close to him? "I'm Eri," she chirps. "I can show you around if you want."
"Uh Eri," another girl says. "I think these are Kagome's friends?"
Kagome sighs. "This is Satoru and Suguru. This is Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi."
"Oohh, so these are your friends, then Kagome?" Eri asks, trying to wrap her arms around Satoru, but he sidesteps her and twists his lips back.
"I'm her husband," Satoru deadpans, throwing an arm around Kagome's shoulders. "Can't you show us around? We'd hate to get lost here."
Suguru smacks his face and groans.
Eri pouts while the other two girls scratch their faces.
"Fine," Kagome sighs. "Girls, I'll catch up with you before the next period." Kagome waves goodbye to the girls and leads them inside the school. "So, why are you here?"
"Mission. You felt anything weird around here?" Satoru tips his sunglasses down and looks around the perimeter. There are some curses here, but they seem to be hiding. Maybe because he and Suguru are here, but most likely because Kagome is here.
"Wait... does she know?" Suguru asks.
"Of course she knows. Kagome is my wife." Satoru shakes his head. What is with Suguru? He doesn't normally need so much hand-holding. "But she isn't a sorcerer, and I don't want her to be."
"I'd rather not attend Jujutsu High," Kagome quips. "I've got enough on my plate without having to worry about missions on top of studying."
Satoru nods. Plus, she's still collecting shards in the past. Not that Suguru knows that. No one outside of the family knows that.
"I have so many questions, but I will wait until after we are done. Has anyone gone missing around here? Someone not showing up to classes that normally does?" Suguru crosses his arms and stares at Kagome, waiting for an answer.
Kagome blinks.
Satoru sighs. Kagome wouldn't know that. Hell, she fits the description of a student that doesn't show up half the time.
"Never mind that," Satoru cuts in. "Feel anything off?"
Kagome taps a finger to her lips. "Now that you mention it, Hojo-kun was being weird."
Hojo... kun?
"But I don't think that has anything to do with why you two are here. There are some curses that like to hang out in the music room, but they're mostly flyheads and don't do too much. They just watch." She shrugs. "If there is anything else going on, then it's probably not the school itself."
Suguru sighs.
Satoru rolls his eyes. Why is she coming this way? He tightens his hold on Kagome and makes a point of looking away from Eri.
"Kagome!" Eri yells. "Sorry for bothering you. Would you be able to help Hojo-kun out? He's back by the field."
"Uhh..."
"Thanks so much!" Eri reaches for Kagome's hand and pulls her into a hug. "He's by the field, right next to the equipment. I can show Satoru around." Eri beams, and Satoru swallows the disgust down. He doesn't need anyone to show him around. It's a school, not a maze.
"Well okay," Kagome says. "Satoru, be nice."
"I'm always nice."
Suguru snorts. Satoru flips him off. He is a nice guy. He hasn't told Eri off yet. And he had that dog house built for InuYasha. He's very nice.
"Eri, was it?" Suguru asks, after Kagome heads back out of the school. "Do you know of anyone that's missed a lot of classes lately? The principal asked us to investigate."
"The principal did?" Eri hums. "Kagome misses a lot of classes because of her diseases." Eri glances at Satoru and then looks away. "But other than that... well, there is one other person who hasn't been around much. He had an outburst in class the last time he showed up, and it was freaky. The room started shaking, but there was no record of an earthquake that day."
"Oh? What's his name?" Suguru smiles.
Eri glances at Satoru again, who angles his body away from her. Why is she looking at him? What a creep.
"So, you're Kagome and Sota's brother?" Eri asks, ignoring Suguru.
"Kagome is my wife, and Sota is my brother-in-law." Satoru rolls his tongue over the top of his teeth. He's getting antsy. First, she asks if he and Suguru are Kagome's friends and now she's asking if he is their brother. So, she knows of him but is downplaying his and Kagome's relationship.
He didn't come here for this.
Eri laughs. "That's so cute, but Kagome doesn't need an overprotective brother. Trust me. I have one and it's caused quite the strain in our relationship."
Satoru's eyes twitch. Is she hard of hearing? "Suguru, come on. We're wasting time." He turns right as Eri tries to latch on to him.
"That was weird," she mutters. "Well, anyway, I can show where his locker is. Kato-san's locker. There's a rumor going around that he's cursed, but I think that's silly. It was just a weird coincidence. I wish people weren't so mean," Eri sighs. "Everyone deserves a chance." She bats her eyelashes and Satoru wants to hurl.
How could Kagome just up and abandon him like that to help some guy out? Kagome is far too nice.
"Thank you, Eri," Suguru says, shooting him a look. "We're just worried about him, is all."
Eri leads them to the locker and stands there. Satoru sucks in a breath and tries not to sigh. Can she just go? How are they going to break into the locker if she's standing there? Satoru glances at Suguru, who nods.
Yeah, they're gonna have to come back tonight. This isn't working.
"Oh!" Suguru exclaims. "We're nearly late, Satoru. We need to get going."
Satoru snaps his fingers. "Right! Let me say goodbye to Kagome and then we should be good to go." He runs out of the building, leaving Suguru and Eri behind.
He can't take it anymore.
Why is that woman so clingy?
Kami, she is worse than the women in the other clans. For whatever reason, they or maybe their fathers seem to think that with enough money, his marriage with Kagome won't go through. Father should shut it down completely.
It's annoying. He doesn't want anyone else, and he will not change his mind.
"Kagome!" he yells, skidding to a stop next to her. Kagome coughs at the dust he kicked up in his haste to make it over to her.
"I'm right here. Why are you yelling?" she grumbles.
"I'm coming back tonight. We can't get any answers with that girl around."
"You mean Eri?" Kagome blows out a breath. "She just has a crush on you."
He gags. "Do you want me to walk you home?"
"If you aren't doing your mission now, shouldn't you be at school then?"
"Got it. I'll meet you at the gates when you get out." He leans forward and kisses her forehead. Kagome flushes and slaps her hands to the spot he just kissed.
"Seriously?" she shrieks.
His heart beats faster. There's a pink hue to her cheeks. Is she blushing? Satoru grabs his jacket, right over his heart. What is this feeling?
"Satoru?"
"I'm fine," he says quickly. "I'll uh... see you later today." He backs away and trips over Suguru.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Suguru groans, pushing him off. "You've been out of it since we got here."
"I'm fine!" Satoru points to himself. "Just fine."
"You don't seem fine," Kagome comments.
"No, he doesn't. Perhaps he's the one that's been cursed."
"Shove it," Satoru says. "I'm fine. Kagome's fine. Everybody is fine."
Kagome frowns and looks past him. "Eri doesn't look fine."
What?
Satoru looks over his shoulder. Ugh. That chick is persistent. He waves at Kagome. "See you later!" He dashes away with Suguru hot on his heels. The faster he gets away from that Eri, the better. Kami, help him if she waits at the gates with Kagome.
"Satoru," Suguru calls, huffing. "Seriously, who was that?"
Satoru smirks. "My wife."
And Suguru better not forget it.
***
A/N: Had a dream that Satoru came back but he didn't come back the same. Like Shoko had to give him an order because he was so out of it. Kind of like how Meliodas gets in seven deadly sins whenever he comes back from the dead. I think it's a sign that Satoru needs to come back in How To Tame lol.
And I have a question...why am I being drafted to fight Sukuna? Gege hasn't run out of characters lol. I wouldn't even try to fight Sukuna, I'd rather have a cook off against Uruame and take their spot instead. I know my strengths and fighting is not one of them lol.
"Will InuYasha have a friendship with Suguru?" - I think so and it'll be nice to see a different dynamic between them. If anything Suguru's calmness may remind InuYasha of Miroku.
"What do the others think of InuYasha?" - At first they thought he was a cosplayer, but Ito had to hose him down one time and realized that he was in fact not a cosplayer. To anyone else, InuYasha is similar to Panda. But those closest made a binding vow and know that he's a demon.
"Will InuYasha call them mom and dad?" - He'll call Mama H mom, but Papa G is still old man.
"Is Ryu in the story?" - He might make an appearance.
"Was someone trying to get rid of Syouma?" - Nah, it was a mistake on their end. Curses are getting stronger and Jujutsu society isn't keeping up. We'll see this come up later.
"Is InuYasha from the Kamo clan?" - I didn't even think about that...but now I can see the Kamo clan and the Zenin clan having beef with the Gojo clan for taking away prized clan members.
Side note, I had to go back and make Satoru and Suguru first years here because I started on the next chapter and the timing wouldn't have worked otherwise. Hope you're ready for stalker Eri lmao.
Hope you are having an awesome week. Take care of yourself. Get out and get some sun if you can. Take your vitamins and drink your water. Next update will be One night. It might come out on Saturday, just depends on how busy I get.
World where we don't collide
Short story about MC's therapy after 5 years since Hannah was found
words: 1600
warnings: probably none, maybe a bit mean MC
A shaky breath left my mouth as I opened the door that led to a place I hated with all my heart. But I still went there. Warmth enveloped my body, which was numb from being outside for so long. It was the end of November, and the weather this year was extremely hostile. I walked down the long corridor to see the secretary, who, as usual, was piled high with papers she was tiredly trying to sort through.
I coughed softly, gaining her attention. At first, clearly frightened, she looked up, and when she recognized me, her lips slightly stretched into a small smile.
– Hello, MC. I haven't seen you here in so long that I started to miss that beautiful face. – she said with obvious amusement, which made me lighten up a bit as well
– Yes, it's been a while since my last visit. I replied, playing with the sleeve of my black coat. – Is she free yet?
The woman nodded and went back to her papers. I sighed softly and headed towards the office that had been haunting me for months.
I knocked to make sure it was empty except for the doctor, and when I heard a soft 'come in', I went inside. The white walls matched the gold accessories nicely. Everything about it was exactly as I remembered, and I hadn't been there for the past two months. My gaze moved over every square millimeter of the room, consistently avoiding the silhouette of the therapist, who was sitting in one of the armchairs as usual.
– MC. Nice to see you. – she greeted, and I nodded to her, in the meantime taking off and hanging my coat on the hanger. – Please, take a sit.
I took the seat across from her, crossing my legs. I wanted to start a conversation, but I didn't know how.
– You stopped therapy. – she said, to which I nodded bitterly. – May I know what was the reason for that?I sighed, biting my lip nervously.
– I knew where our conversations were headed, and I didn't want to talk about it. I didn't want to talk about him. – I replied without looking into her eyes. I didn't like making eye contact with anyone. The eyes were windows to people's souls, which I always found very distracting.
– Then why did you come back?
– I got a letter. I do not know what to do with it. – I said as she gave me a questioning look. I finally looked up at her and handed her the paper I had in my hand. As she read it, I stared at her face, which so painfully reminded me of Lilly's face. She was a woman with short blonde hair and sea blue eyes. They could be soothing and calm like the sound of waves, or stormy and menacing like a storm in the middle of a deep ocean. She finally looked at me, and I saw just a hint of that anger in her eyes.
– Hannah and Thomas getting married? – she asked the obvious question, because the card I gave her was an invitation I got two days ago. - How do you feel with it?
I snorted a little mockingly, but my reaction didn't put her off at all.
– I don't feel much. It's none of my business anymore. – I looked at the vase of flowers on the table between us
– I can tell when you're lying, you know? Why did you come to me if you don't want to tell me the truth and let me help you? – she asked me a sharp question that made my jaw clench
– I think I feel angry. – I said, playing with my fingers – No. Anger is empty. Two days ago, when I first read that stupid invitation, I wanted to rip her into little pieces. Fury seized me, my whole body burned. I still wonder how could they? Next week is the fifth anniversary of finding Hannah, the fifth anniversary of Richy's death, and the fifth anniversary of his death.. – I blurted out, breathing shallowly, my nails digging into the palm of my hand – Jake's death. And suddenly they're going to throw a huge wedding party, enjoying themselves and having fun like nothing ever happened? And they have the audacity to invite me there after all they've done to me?
– Next week is the fifth anniversary of the mine events. Don't torture your thoughts. Pour them out, don't fight them. – she said in a quiet and calm voice, completely ignoring my outburst of anger at Hannah
I closed my eyes heavily, letting out a breath full of frustration, fatigue and reluctance. We've been rolling this topic over and over again for eight months. I was tired of analyzing and wondering if I could have done something to change the course of events. If I had gone to meet the Man Without The Face, would everything have turned out completely differently?
– I feel the same as two, three or four years ago. I feel betrayed by Richy, yet his death still affects me. I would like to talk to him, find out and understand him. God, I wish he'd shot himself in the head instead of setting himself on fire and blowing up the entire mine. – I said taking a deep breath
– You're furious because you lost Jake because of Richy. You blame him. It's normal.
– You shouldn't be so understanding. I think I need someone to blame so I don't blame myself for the death of .. – his name still hurt – for Jake's death. The problem is that...
– The body was never found.
I nodded, swallowing. For eight months of therapy, I'd been trying to put a wall between my thoughts about the black-haired hacker. I accepted that he died. It was driving me crazy to wonder if he had managed to escape the mine after all, only to be caught by the FBI. Literally. I knew he was dead. He never contacted me again, leaving me with the bittersweet taste of his last three words.
– You never told me about him. You mentioned him only at our first meeting, when you were nothing more than a wreck of a human. – she said, and I understood her unspoken request to tell about him
Uncontrollably, my mind began to flood with memories of our conversations that I had so strongly resisted. I remembered the sweet smiles he used to send me, how we analyzed things together and how good team we were. I remember him confessing that I was fascinating to him. He could text me things that made my heart beat faster and my breath quicken. He cared for me and defended me when the group attacked me with their vote. At some point, he was my everything.
– I can see that he must have been someone special, that you flew away like that. – she said, a small smirk playing at the corners of her lips
I bit my lip to hold back my smile.
– And he was. He really was. Of the whole group, he was the only one worth trusting.
– Why do you think so? You told me about Jessy. You told me about all of them and the friendship you made.
I bit the inside of my cheek, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
– I haven't spoken to any of them in almost five years. Hannah at Richy's funeral gave me enough reasons to disassociate myself from them.
– The group had no influence on what the traumatized Hannah accused you of. – she cut into my sentence
– But no one interrupted her. Nobody took my side or Jake's side. – I answered a little harsher than I had planned. – She made me mud, blaming me for Richy's and Jake's death. From taking Jake away from her. And then no one dared say a word to her. Dan and Thomas were happy as if nothing had happened. They didn't give a shit what happened to Jake! They didn't care at all but that fucking Hannah had been found, completely forgetting who had helped find her! Jake had dropped everything for her, and his death hadn't affected them at all.
– How did Lilly react? It was her brother, after all.
– She apologized to me for Hannah after everything. She put it down to her trauma, but you know what? I didn't give a shit at all then. Lilly was the only one who tried to keep in touch with me.
– But you cut them off after returning from Duskwood. How did you do that? How did you manage to cut yourself off from an important part of your life back then?
I bit my lip as I thought about my answer. My eyes became slightly misted from not blinking for a long time.
– I started to imagine a world where we don't collide. A world where Hannah hadn't sent those stupid few numbers to her stupid boyfriend who thought it was someone else's number. A world where I wouldn't reply to them at all. And most of all, I imagined life in a world where I wouldn't fall in love with this wanted hacker. – I gasped as I felt my pulse quicken
The therapist looked at me with satisfaction in her eyes, because I finally opened up to her. I got carried away by my emotions.
– What are you going to do with this invitation?
I swallowed hard, feeling my nails almost pierce the center of my palm. It was supposed to help me, but it only unleashed a storm inside my mind.
– I'll burn them.
The therapist smiled slightly, knowing full well that it wasn't true.
Darlin' pt. 1
"Let me help ya there darlin."
You knew Jackson all but two seconds before this moment. Well, that's not entirely true. You've been holding the neighborhood's book club for over two years now. It's been a hit and sometimes your neighbors will bring their friends for some meetings. A couple months ago, one of your friends from New York moved down to the South with her roommates. Shauna let you know that she was in your neighborhood now; she had actually moved across the street from you! She came to one of your club meetings about a month after they moved with one of her roommates in tow.
"Jackson." She had said. Told you that they were just here to get in a little social event to kick off the new change. He didn't say much, if at all, but by the looks of him, you could tell that the South was his true home. New York didn't take that out of him. From the blond buzzcut down to the thick brown belt and pretty leather cowboy boots, you knew it wasn't just a fashion choice. It was in his blood. You had a thing for Southern boys, especially when they're 6'4 with a face sculpted by Michealangelo himself. You weren't the only one slightly thirsting over him. The other women in the book club would constantly whisper to you about how they would "love to go home to him every night" and how they "can't imagine that he doesn't already have a girlfriend." Especially the single moms in the club, even the married ones. The filthy words they would exchange with you about Jackson made you squeal with laughter sometimes.
After the initial meeting, Shauna stopped coming - books weren't her thing - but Jackson remained. He never spoke up. Everyone would share their thoughts on the reading so far but him. All he did was listen, especially to you. He was always locked in to every syllable when you spoke up about a particular event that was intriguing to the group. He loved your explanations and opinions; he thought you were such a smart woman. However, he was always the first to leave after book club was over. Except tonight. For some reason, he stayed behind until everyone else left. You watched as he started to pick up trash and leftover snack plates from the living room.
"Um what're you doin?" you asked, arms crossed as he crossed from the living room to the kitchen with trash and plates.
"Well I can't let you just clean up by yourself." he responded without looking at you. You were slightly shocked, not only because that's the most you've heard him speak, but because of his audacity as well. You decided to entertain his generosity, seeing it as a chance to get to know the mysterious man. You started to wash the dishes he put in the sink. He came beside you and started drying them as you placed them in the dish rack. You turned to look at him again, not realizing how close you two were. He looked back at you with something in his eyes that you couldn't quite place. A little flustered, you put your focus back on the dirty dishes.
Then you had a wonderful thought. You decided to play with him a little.
"Jackson?"
"Yes ma'am?" You felt a tingle in a certain part of you.
"This is your last club meetin', sweetheart." He stopped. Then he continued drying.
"Yes ma'am." Huh.
"That's it? You ain't puttin' up a fight?"
"Well, you're the boss. Who am I to not follow my boss's orders?" Hm. That turned you on a little.
"I see. Well, you never bring a copy of the book we read and you don't participate in discussion time, so I thought you weren't interested." This wasn't true at all. You honestly didn't care whether anyone participated or not. The participation of others didn’t warrant the fun you had in book club. If you had to hold book club with just yourself, you would. Without a care in the world.
"Trust me, I'm interested darlin."
"How so?" You handed him the last dish.
"I ain't here for the books." He stopped and looked at you, putting the now dry dish away. " I'm interested in the way your lips move when you speak. Every time a word falls through those lips o' yours, I damn near lose my whole mind. Your voice is like the sound of birds chirping on a Saturday mornin' on the countryside. Like the first slice of a warm pumpkin pie on the first day of fall. I don't come for the books, I come for you." You stared at him, shook to your core. He suddenly becme aware of his outburst and took a step back.
"Sorry for bein' so forward there. But it's the truth. I understand if you want me to stop comin'." You never wanted him to stop coming. You want him coming all the time. Preferably in your-
"Let me head on outta here."
"I'll walk you out." Well look at that. He wanted you as much as you wanted him, maybe even more. It seems that you no longer needed to hide your feelings toward him.
You two reached the front door and he stepped out to the porch before you spoke again, causing him to turn around.
"Jackson."
"Yes ma'am?" That tingle again. It's starting to turn into a throb. You leaned against the doorframe.
"I suggest you bring a copy of the book we're reading next club meetin', darlin." He smiled. Oh god he smiled. His pretty pearls almost had you weak at the knees. You needed to send him home now before you invited him back inside for the night.
"So, I'm not kicked out?"
"Of course not! I don't care if you're participating or not, as long as you're enjoyin' yourself." You grabbed his jaw gently, bringing him oh-so-close to your lips. His smooth skin contrasted the slight stubble scratching the palm of your hand. "Besides, we wouldn't want you missin' out on these pretty lips o' mine." You paused looking into his eyes again. This time it was very apparent what was there. Lust.
"'Night, Jack, baby," you whispered against his lips before letting him go. You turned back into the house before closing the door behind you. You immediately ran to your room to take care of the throbbing between your legs.
And he was definitely jacking off in his room once he got home.
Poly! DBK x GN! Reader x Princess Iron Fan
Tumblr media
*WE NEED MORE GIFS OF THEM*
- OKAY BUT LITERALLY, YOU'RE EITHER THE SWEETHEART OR YOU'RE AS TOUGH AND REFINED AS THEM or your both and you only show kindness towards your family.
- They don't initiate PDA with each other a lot, as seen in the show, but that's just their relationship with each other. DBK is probably a bit more reserved in terms of PDA but, like, he'd probably just casually carry you around or he just gives you headwaters.
- Iron Fan, however, enjoys making you flustered with affection and will literally steal kisses and is sure to leave a lip stick mark.
- You can decide on how you meet them but Red Son definetly has to adjust to having a third parent so CUE AWKWARD PARENT-CHILD BONDING.
- You do sometimes disagree with their methods in raising him but they do also look after his best interest and you know they care for him but you still take it upon yourself to praise Red Son and cheer him on for his hard work and clever creations.
- No but Monkey King is so convinced that toy were forced into marrying them because, like, no way would they ever go for someone like you so he tries to rescue you and you're assuring him that you're not being held hostage.
- When DBK, Iron Fan, and Red Son come to retrieve you, THEY ARE SO READY TO THROW HANDS. LIKE, HOW DARE THAT SIMIAN HAVE THE AUDACITY ABDUCT YOU. Wukong is ready to defend you but then as he gets ready to fight them all, you calm down DBK and Iron Fan and tell them you just want to go home and they both just give in but glare at Wukong and Wukong is dumbfounded.
- They do their best to make you feel as included in the relationship as possible and never try to leave you out of things. Your opinion matters to them as much as their opinions matter to each other.
- NO BUT THE WAY YOU'RE SO SPOILED. They like dressing you up in regal robes and garbs that are similar to their own and compliment you on how absolutely eye catching you are.
- Them absolutely getting angry when people tell you that you're not as strong as them. What you lack on strength, you make up for with your compassion and kindness. You are the heart of the family and it is because of that kindness they don't absolutely demolish that person.
- No but rubbing DBK's head when cuddling, idk man, but you can't convince me he isn't into it. He rests his head on your lap and you just absent-mindedly rub his head and he is taken aback by the sensation but he just sighs.
- Brushing your wife's hair, too. Like, Iron Fan would be very smug but happy to let you do so. You admire how beautiful it is and she'll admit, it is rather...nice.
- You are very well gaurded, as well. After all, DBK and Iron Fan have many enemies so its only that they'd want you protected. Red Son upgrades a few Bull Clones with extra protective/defensive/ and tracking features to make sure you are monitored at all times and are safe and protected. DBK is never truly at ease, though, and the only way he can relax is if you're within his sight. Iron Fan is the one to calm his doubts but she also worries about your herself.
- AAAAH, CAN YOU IMAGINE THE WEDDING BETWEEN YOU THREE!?
- Like, its small and romantic nonetheless and they make it focus on you and officially joining the relationship as a spouse.
- Both of them stand eagerly on the altar and their hearts burst with pride and love as you walk down, an equally happy smile on your face as you stare at your two lovers.
- Unrelated but Red Son planned the wedding because he didn't want his parents or you to stress so I just like the idea of him screaming at some poor clone about the FLORAL ARRANGMENTS AND HOW THEY'RE ALL WRONG.
