avdol being characterized as the Serious OneTM seems to just come out of conflating that with competence in a situation. the other crusaders are Somewhat fresh to all these assassins but Avdol has had these guys on his radar for fuck knows how long.
the others are like "AN ENEMY USER" and Avdol's like "oh yeah that's Macaroni Mark whose stand suggests the 4.5th card of the Tarot, The Certified Public Accountant :/ his stand's a mid range that looks like a big blue conch shell wearing a pointy gnome hat, with the ability to cut people's brake lines! if i remember right he's wrecked 23 cars and killed 47 people. he's a pretty scary guy."

Hello!!
I was wondering if you could write some head canons or a one shot about a non-binary reader x Kakyoin who always dances to the music on the radio? Its one of my favorite things to do when I’m playing 70’s-80’s music and I go unnecessarily hard lmao, if possible could you add the other crusaders but platonically?? Like maybe they are all in the car driving and then a song the reader likes comes on the radio and then they just start hitting the boogie in the passenger seat? I apologize if its kinda weirdly specific lol
Ah!! Hi there!
This is the first request I’ve gotten so I was super pumped to write this! And please don’t apologise! The more detail the better, gives me a better idea of what to write 🥰
This is my first time writing for a non-binary reader so I hope I did ok! Any and all feedback is majorly appreciated.
And since I couldn’t decide between head canons and a one shot, you get both lol
(I was also listening to a favourite 80s song of mine while writing this, so I hope it’s ok that it makes a little cameo in the one shot 😅)
I had a lot of fun writing this, so I hope you enjoy!

Head Canons :
Kakyoin absolutely LOVES when your favourite tunes come on, almost as much as you do.
Because it means he gets to see you boogie to your heart’s content.
You might think it’s because he finds it funny, but it’s far from it.
Every time you dance to the radio he’s just mesmerised, he loves the energy you give into every move.
Since Kakyoin was quite reserved as a child, he never had moments where he could just jam out with someone.
So when you gesture for him to join you, he knows he’d be a fool not to.
The other crusaders see the goofy smile on his face every time the two of you dance together.
So they subtly (not so subtly) ensure that you guys just so happen to be partnered up when you stay in hotels.
They come to regret this when your dancing sessions carry late into the night.
Every now and then Jotaro will get sick of it so you’ll hear a muffled “Shut up!” from the next room.
You and Kakyoin giggle quietly as you turn down the radio.
They don’t mind too much though, the nature of this journey is bleak at times so the liveliness you and Kakyoin bring is a welcome breath of fresh air.
Polnareff and Joseph even join you two for a chance to boogie occasionally.
One Shot :
Mr Joestar’s snoring is the only sound that fills the air as you drive along the deserted road. You get an earful of it since you’re sitting in the middle of him and Polnareff, with the latter driving.
You wanted to sit next to Kakyoin but this seating arrangement was the only way all 6 of you would be able to fit in the car. He sat directly behind you, between Jotaro and Avdol.
You’ve been driving for hours with no breaks, there’s not much to do in the car so you start to grow restless.
[YOU] - “Ughhh, I’m so bored!!”
You groan as you plonk your head on the dashboard.
[POLNAREFF] - “Hey hey watch it!”
Polnareff yanks you back into an upright position.
[POLNAREFF] - “You’re gonna give yourself a concussion.”
[YOU] - “Maybe that would be a blessing in disguise. It’d be more interesting than this.”
You rotate in your seat, leaning on your knees to look into the back seat. Jotaro is leaning back with his hat over his face and Avdol is just looking out the window. You look at Kakyoin and he has his eyes closed, he must be sleeping as well. He looks so peaceful, and although you wanna let him rest… you also really wanna talk to him.
[YOU] - “C’mon…”
You wave your hands in front of you like you're trying to cast some kinda voodoo spell.
[YOU] - “Wake up.”
And to no one’s surprise your incantation fails. You sigh.
[AVDOL] - “Why don’t you try the radio?”
You turn your attention towards the fortune teller.
[AVDOL] - “Maybe we can get a signal out here.”
You immediately perk up at the idea and nod. Turning back around you start fiddling with controls. There’s only static but you don't stop trying. You’re about to throw in the towel but then you hear the radio crackle to life.
♪ ♪ ♫ ♪
Your face lights up when you recognise the melody.
[YOU] - “No fucking way!”
[JOTARO] - “Good grief could you be any louder?”
You turn your head and Jotaro is now sitting up, you shoot him an apologetic smile.
[KAKYOIN] - “Can you blame them? This one is one of their favourites.”
♪ Shake it up is all that we know ♪
You immediately spin back around onto your knees and meet Kakyoin’s gaze.
[YOU] - “Hey you’re awake!”
[KAKYOIN] - “I’ve actually been awake for a while.”
♪ Using the bodies up as we go ♪
You start moving your shoulders to the rhythm.
[JOTARO] - “Good grief here we go again.”
♪ I’m waking up to fantasy ♪
Kakyoin laughs when you start using an imaginary microphone to mouth the lyrics. You hold a hand out to him, still getting your groove on.
[YOU] - “C’mon I know you wanna join me.”
♪ Broken ice still melts in the sun ♪
How can he refuse when you’re looking at him like that? Kakyoin grabs your hand and proceeds to go HAM with you. It’s like y’all are at your own personal concert. Your fingers are intertwined as you both seemingly escape into the music.
[JOTARO] - “Great, now there’s two of them.”
Avdol chuckles at the display in front of them.
[AVDOL] - “This is good, a little spirit is never a bad thing-”
[YOU] - “YOU’RE OUT OF TOUCH.”
You hold the ‘microphone’ to Kakyoin.
[KAKYOIN] - “I’M OUT OF TIME.”
[YOU + KAKYOIN] - “BUT I’M OUT OF MY HEAD WHEN YOU’RE NOT AROUND!”
Jotaro just shakes his head while Avdol’s laughter fills the space in between you and Kakyoin’s singing (screaming)
It goes on like this for a while, the radio cycles through the songs, and you and Kakyoin give an oscar worthy performance to every single one of them. Polnareff turns up the radio so you can really give it your all, Avdol joins in for some of the songs, and you even manage to get a tiny smirk from Jotaro.
It’s cut short when the radio stops while you’re in the middle of a song.
[YOU] - “Hey driver, what happened to the music?”
You hear a bit of fidgeting before he answers.
[POLNAREFF] - “Looks like we lost the signal.”
The disappointment is evident on your faces.
[KAKYOIN] - “You’re kidding.”
[POLNAREFF] - “Nope, unfortunately I’m not.”
You groan and plop your head on the headrest.
[YOU] - “Man…”
Kakyoin feels bad seeing you so downcast. His eyes fall on your hand that he still has in his grasp, thinking of how to improve your mood. And then an idea hits him.
[KAKYOIN] - “Hey Polnareff, you and Mr Joestar got this car second hand yeah?”
Polnareff looks at him through the rearview mirror.
[POLNAREFF] - “Yeah that’s right.”
He squeezes your hand gently to get your attention. You look up at him.
[KAKYOIN] - “Why don’t you check the glove compartment? Maybe the owner left some discs in there.”
Your eyes widen and you shoot up (almost hitting your head on the roof). His heart melts at the sight of your radiant smile.
[YOU] - “Kakyoin you beautiful genius!”
You grab the sides of his face and give him a peck on the lips. Jotaro and Avdol stifle their laughter as Kakyoin proceeds to malfunction when you turn around to search the compartment.
Opening it up there’s a small pile of discs there, you immediately pick them up and examine them.
[YOU] - “Score!”
You hold up one of the discs to show to Kakyoin.
[YOU] - “They have Wham! in here!”
[JOSEPH] - “What did you just say?”
Looking to the side you see that the old man’s awake, he looks a little startled.
[POLNAREFF] - “You’re finally awake Mr Joestar! I'm surprised you didn’t wake up sooner, we had the music pretty loud.”
Kakyoin leans forward in his seat.
[KAKYOIN] - “Are you ok Mr Joestar?”
You hold up the disc to him.
[YOU] - “Don’t tell me you’ve never heard of Wham! before.”
[JOSEPH] - “You can’t be serious.”
[AVDOL] - “I’m pretty sure they are Mr Joestar, Wham! is very popular.”
[JOTARO] - “Good grief old man, is your age catching up with you?”
The haunted look doesn’t leave Mr Joestar’s face as you look over the other discs with Kakyoin.
[KAKYOIN] - “What was that one you were showing me the other day… oh yeah! Do they have AC/DC?”
[YOU] - “Mhm! Oooo, they even have Santana.”
Your eyes light up when they land on a particular CD.
[YOU] - “Oh. My. God! Let’s put on Cars!“
[JOSEPH] - “HERMIT PURPLE!”
The discs are suddenly snatched out of your hands with purple vines and flung out the open window. You gawk at Mr Joestar as your only form of entertainment disappears into the dust. Kakyoin does his best to console you for the remainder of the drive.

a little one-shot of kakyoin and the reader :)
i miss him sm </3
also pls ignore how terribly written this is, i’m not the best writer, i just wanted to make something sweet
warnings: none! just some wholesome kak and reader :’)
you sat in the back of the car, turning music on, with your headphones in. as you put the 2nd earbud in it began to drown out polnareff yelling at iggy for farting on him again, jotaro, joseph, and avdol having conversation about dio, and kakyoins pencil dragging across his sketchbook right next to you. you turned your head towards the window looking at the desert that passed by.
a little bit later while driving in the car, kakyoin looked over to you, still looking out the window. he tapped you on the shoulder lightly. You turned your head over to him while taking one of your earbuds out.
“yes?” you said to him.
“what’re you listening to?” he said with a slight smile on his face.
“oh im listening to *insert music of ur choice here lol*, do you wanna listen to?” you said as you held out one of the earbuds.
“sure” he said while taking the earbud and placing it in his ear.
you watched him to see what he thought about the music. you saw his head moving up and down a little bit and smiled to yourself. he looked over to you to see you watching him. he began to write something on his sketchbook and handed it over to you.
“this song is really cool, i like it a lot”
you looked back up to him as he smiled. you smiled back as you gave him his sketchbook back.

Valentine’s Event: Happy Valentine’s Day!
Prompt: Kakyoin + Tattoos
Ao3 Link
Author’s Note: Hey guys! Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ve enjoyed my little fic collection over this past week, it was so much fun to write! I’d like to thank @magthemage for beta reading all these stories! Go read her stuff, she’s awesome!
This story in particular is an everyone lives! au, where you are a former Stardust Crusader, and you, Kakyoin, and Jotaro are all college students who enroll in an American University and share an apartment. Also, while the reader is gender-neutral, I did say they were smaller than the rest of the crusaders... sorry if you’re a beefcake! There’s also the tiniest bit of suggestiveness, but no actual nsfw. Everyone in this fic is aged up to be over 21, and please drink responsibly! Enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Kakyoin!” You exclaimed, wrapping your arm around your sober friend’s shoulder, “C’mon, it’ll be so cool!”
“Yeah, we can all get ‘em in the same spot too! It’ll be so rad! C’mon, even Jotaro is down!” Polnareff slurred from the other side of the table, motioning to Jotaro who only gave a solemn thumbs up.
“We are not getting matching tattoos,” Kakyoin deadpanned, getting tired of all his companion’s drunk antics. It’s funny- after defeating Dio, he thought all his troubles were over. But, because the injuries he got in Egypt rendered him unable to drink, he was forever doomed to be the designated driver.
Unluckily for him, this was a rowdy group to handle.
“Kakyoin,” Mr.Joestar placed a hand on his shoulder, brushing you off of him, “We’ll even let you pick. It’s not as cool if we don’t all get one.”
“You’re all wasted,” he chuckled, looking at how all of his friends swayed, red in the face, letting the conversation wander aimlessly after way too many shots. After you all defeated Dio, you made it a tradition to meet up and celebrate the bastard’s death by getting as plastered as possible. While you still saw the others fairly regularly, seeing as you, Jotaro, and Kakyoin became roommates after high school, it was nice to have the others fly in to see everyone again.
Kakyoin watched as Jotaro and Avdol sat in silence, the former’s signature cap pulled over his eyes. They were subdued drunks, getting all quiet when under the influence. Kakyoin noticed how Avdol would turn a tad introspective after a few shots, abruptly bringing up thought-provoking questions like “Do Stands Dream?” or “Where do the clouds go after they roll by?” Jotaro, on the other hand, tended to mellow out. His short fuse stretched out a bit when he was drunk, and for once, he could take a joke.
Polnareff and Joseph, on the other hand, embodied pure chaos. Joseph would always try to instigate things: karaoke, bar fights, getting matching tattoos, and Polnareff would sing his praises and go along with all of his crazy schemes. Somehow, the Frenchman would get even louder, barking for the bartender to bring him more shots so he could out-drink everyone in the building.
Then, there was you. While you could certainly hold your booze better than others of your stature, you were no match for the hulking giants that were your fellow crusaders. So, while you kept pace with them while you were drinking, you would get shit-faced before they were feeling the slightest bit buzzed. While you were usually pretty fun and adventurous, the alcohol in your system turned that up to eleven, making you down for anything and everything.
“Wouldn’t it be so cool to get something together?” You grinned to Kakyoin, eyes wide with excitement, “To show how close we are after everything that happened, Jotaro?”
“You’re talking to Kakyoin, (Y/n),” he sighed, calling the bartender over for the bill. You had all had more than enough for the night.
“Then why are you wearing that funny hat, hm?” You said, flicking Kakyoin’s pronounced bang with a giggle. You were trashed. Kakyoin thought about your impending wrath tomorrow, and having to deal with a hangover for the ages.
“What would we get for a tattoo? Dio’s name?” Polnareff asked the group, sitting back in the booth seat. Jotaro, with surprisingly little bite in his voice, grumbled and shook his head.
“I’m not getting that asshole’s name anywhere on my body.”
“Y’know that picture we took? When we first got to Egypt?” Joseph spoke up, “We could all get that across our backs!”
“That’s way too complex!” Polnareff protested with a smile. You got everyone’s attention when you slapped your hands down on the table with a thundering ‘boom.’
“Guys,” you beamed, pure excitement in your voice, “Iggy. Tramp. Stamps.”
The table fell silent as everybody stared at you blankly. For a moment, Kakyoin thought everyone would laugh at your silly idea. That was the tackiest tattoo anyone has ever thought up!
Polnareff, with a look as serious as death, gave a resounding “Hell yeah!”
After that, all hell broke loose, as even the more subdued members of the group went along with the idea. It was agreed that Iggy, who Polnareff took in after everything went down, would get a collar with his own face on it in solidarity. Despite the risqué location, everyone seemed pumped to get matching tramp stamps of the world’s grumpiest Boston Terrier. Even Jotaro was nodding along as the more vocal members rambled on and on.
“Okay, it’s time to go,” Kakyoin shouted over the group, causing the uproar to die down for a moment, “I’m driving, let’s get in the car.”
“Oh my gosh, he’s doing it,” you cheered, wrapping Kakyoin in a tight, powerful hug, “Kakyoin’s gonna drive us to the tattoo parlor!”
The others broke out in celebration, high-fiving each other as they readied themselves to get all inked-up. The bartender gave Kakyoin a sorry look as he herded everyone into his car, having to walk you there the whole way as you stumbled through the parking lot.
It seemed that everyone felt dizzy as they stood up from their seats, and while Polnareff and Joseph were still a little talkative, the car’s atmosphere was a lot more relaxed than the bar’s. Kakyoin had done this drive a few times before, having to calm down his former travel companions after a hearty night of drinking, so he had it down to a science. Putting a CD labeled “Joseph had a Crazy Idea -Mix” into the player, Kakyoin drove around the block a few times, waiting patiently for the conversation to die down.
Soon enough, the car fell silent as everyone stooped into a drunken haze, bodies limp in their seats as they nearly dozed off to sleep. However, you were buckled into the passenger’s seat, lightly snoring as you drifted into dreamland. Just as expected.
As Kakyoin slowly dropped off the various men at their hotels, who had forgotten about their planned misadventure in their intoxicated stupor, he found himself smiling at your sleeping form as you wormed around in your seat. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t have feelings for you- he knew he did all the way back when you two were teenagers, when you saved him from certain death at Dio’s hand- and seeing you like this always warmed his heart. You were a battle-hardened badass like the rest of them, having seen Dio’s horrors at an age that was simply too young for comfort; but here you were, sleeping peacefully with the giddiest look on your face imaginable.
Sometimes, being your roommate was hard. He knew you were so close, that he could just walk over to your room and confess his ever-growing feelings for you whenever he wanted, that one day he could share a bed with this sleeping angel right next to him. It was on days like this that he realized why he liked you so much: you were kind, cute, and a lot more fun then he was.
Pulling up to your apartment, Jotaro slowly made his way out of the backseat, not even giving Kakyoin a passing glance as he went into the apartment. Leaving Kakyoin to deal with your passed out form, the red-head sighed, unbuckling your seatbelt as he pulled your from the car. He carried you up a flight of stairs, careful not to let you stir, using Hierophant to open the apartment’s door.
Jotaro looked dead, passed out face-down on the couch. Kakyoin rolled his eyes as Hierophant pulled a blanket over his friend- he’d be a pleasure to deal with in the morning.
“Jotaro,” you giggled out, taking Kakyoin by surprise as you lightly flicked his bang around, “Are we at the tattoo parlor yet?”
Kakyoin quickly tried to shush you, rushing into your room so as to not wake your more aggressive roommate, “No, (Y/n), I’m Kakyoin.”
“Jotaro,” you repeated, much to Kakyoin’s sober displeasure, “Do you think Kakyoin is gonna get the tattoo?”
“I don’t think so, you should try and get some rest,” he whispered to you, setting you down on your bed. He helped you take off your shoes, and despite being in full dress, you make yourself cozy under the covers.
“That’s too bad,” you sighed dramatically, looking up at him through blurry vision, “I was hoping I could see his ass while he got his tattoo. You know how much I like his butt!”
Taken back by your comment, Kakyoin couldn’t stop the hearty laugh that slipped through his lips. He knew he shouldn’t press this topic further, but he was so amused he couldn’t help himself.
“You like Kakyoin’s ass, huh?”
“Duh!” you laughed along with the man, despite not knowing what ‘Jotaro’ found so funny, “Have you seen him in that one pair of skinny jeans he owns? Hot Damn!”
Kakyoin started laughing even harder, wishing he could record this conversation and show it to you later. You’d probably kill him, but this was a nice treat after a long night of dealing with a hollering group of drunken idiots. However, he couldn’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy at your words- did you really find him attractive? It felt really nice to be thought of that way, especially by you.
“I think that ass is made of pure boyfriend material, if you ask me,” you snorted, taking Kakyoin completely by surprise, “Jojo, I know you tell me to just man-up and ask him out, but I don’t wanna scare him away. If he doesn’t like me anymore, he won’t take me to get tattoos!”
Kakyoin froze, trying to process everything he just heard. While cheesy, he never wanted to forget that ‘boyfriend material’ line, or the way your voice softened while you spoke about him. He was in awe of the fact that you had feelings for him- feelings so strong that they had to be confided in Jotaro- and how you feared that he wouldn’t be interested. The red-head was puzzled by your doubts. How could someone as wonderful as you ever not be enough? How could you ever think he didn’t return your feelings? Sometimes, he felt like his feelings were obvious- but, here he was, standing before you as you wearily blinked up at him, eyelids becoming heavy.
“Shhhhh, don’t tell him!” You yawned, weakly dragging your finger over his lips, “Wake me when we get to the tattoo parlor...”
Kakyoin watched your head clunk down onto the pillow, and you were out like a light. After tucking you in, he left the room feeling a little guilty; that was obviously a secret you didn’t want him to hear. However, at the same time, he was over the moon. The person he had admired for years was suddenly in his grasp, finally attainable after years and years of silent pining.
Before he went to bed, Kakyoin made a point to pull his skinny jeans from his closet, laying them out on top of his dresser. He’d be needing them for tomorrow- he wanted his ass to look good while he asked you out, is all.

The sun was pounding down mercilessly, and Kakyoin watched tensely from the backseat of the car as Joseph and Polnareff tried to fix the decrepit engine which had given out on them about half an hour earlier. From the sound of it, Kakyoin didn't really think that they would be going anywhere else in this car.
What was more worrying, however, was his companion sitting in the seat next to him. Jotaro slumped against the door, head tilted toward his chest, hat pulled down low. His shallow breathing hitched every time he shifted, telling just how much pain he was in. Jotaro may have won the fight against Wheel of Fortune but he'd taken twice the amount of hits as the rest of them, and had suffered burns on top of that.
Kakyoin's attention was returned to Joseph as the older man sighed and reluctantly lowered the hood. "It's no use. There's only so much tinkering I can do. This car is shot."
"So we're stranded out here?" Anne screeched.
"Of course not!" Joseph grinned at her. "You have legs, don't you?"
Kakyoin pressed his lips together, glancing toward Jotaro again, who didn't even seem to register what was happening. Normally this would only be an annoying set-back, but he wasn't sure Jotaro could even walk to the nearest civilization.
"Come on, boys!" Joseph called.
Jotaro startled and blinked, looking confused for a second before he clumsily reached for the door handle and opened it.
Kakyoin was already out of the car by the time his friend stumbled to his feet.
"Jotaro, are you okay?" Joseph asked him.
"Yeah," came the terse reply.
"Let's go then."
Joseph took the lead and Jotaro followed, but only managed a few steps before he swayed. Kakyoin hurriedly ducked in and grabbed his elbow, accidently gripping a burned patch of skin. Jotaro grunted, face paling slightly.
"Mr. Joestar!" Kakyoin called. "I don't think Jotaro's going to make it walking that far right now."
Jotaro grunted and tried to pull away from him. "I said I'm fine."
But another swaying step, proved differently and this time it was Joseph who caught and steadied him.
"No, I think Kakyoin is right," the older man said worriedly. "You got hit harder than I thought."
Jotaro was breathing heavily as he still attempted to push himself upright. "We don't…have time for this!" he panted.
Kakyoin felt his chest tighten as he saw something akin to panic in Jotaro's eyes. Not for his own sake, but for fear of his mother's condition.
"Well, what do we do then? We still need a car," Polnareff said.
"Not to mention some better medical supplies," Kakyoin stated blandly. They hadn't even had burn cream. He stepped forward. "I'll stay here with Jotaro. The rest of you go to the nearest town and see if you can find a car."
Jotaro shot him a look before turning back to his grandfather. "Jiji, come on…I'm—"
"No, Jotaro," Kakyoin cut in firmly. "They'll be quicker walking alone. We'd have to slow down for you anyway. It will probably be about the same length of time for them to get there and drive back. You know you're not going to get far in that condition."
Jotaro glowered at him for a long moment, but Kakyoin stood his ground firmly, lifting his chin, and finally Jotaro glanced away, pulling his hat down as his body shook from the obvious strain he was feeling just keeping himself upright.
"I do agree that it will be better this way, but are you sure you'll be okay here alone?" Joseph asked worriedly.
Kakyoin didn't like the idea of splitting up either, but considering they had just defeated a Stand user they might get at least a little reprieve. "Hierophant will be able to tell if someone is coming."
Joseph nodded, if not a little reluctantly. "Okay. Stay off the road, and keep safe."
Kakyoin nodded and took a firmer hold on Jotaro, leading him back to the car, propping him against the side as Joseph, Polnareff and Anne started off down the road. Jotaro grunted, raising a shaky hand to pull his hat down further over his eyes. Kakyoin squinted in the sun, feeling it beating down on him and knowing that it had to be even worse for Jotaro who had lost his coat—and with the burns…
Kakyoin looked around, but there was no shade anywhere nearby this time of day. The rocky cliff face to their right wouldn't offer a shadow until hours later. He was going to have to do something though, because Jotaro had lost a lot of blood, some of it still seeping from the bad patch job they'd done with little more than band-aids Polnareff had had in his bag, and he was looking worse and worse by the second, face pale, sweat dripping off his skin.
Then he swayed, knees shaking and Kakyoin caught him quickly around the waist, trying to steady the taller boy. Jotaro let out a sharp gasp, stiffening.
"Sorry," Kakyoin said, wincing as he realized he must have grabbed one of the burns. "Come on, you should sit down."
Jotaro grunted, but didn't protest when Kakyoin dragged him around the car and settled him down. This was the only place that there was any sort of shade, just a couple feet of it, but it was better than nothing.
There really was something deadly about the desert sun though. It wasn't like the muggy heat of summers back in Japan; it was merciless, pounding into your head.
Jotaro landed heavily, legs sprawled out in front of him, still bared to the sun. Kakyoin winced as he saw a patch above Jotaro's knee where his trousers had been burned through, revealing a pink patch of skin. There were more on his arms and neck, and a couple that had gone through his shirt. Jotaro leaned his head back against the side of the car, eyes closed.
"Hey," Kakyoin said suddenly, really starting to get worried by Jotaro's unresponsiveness. "How about some water?"
Jotaro grunted, giving a small nod. Kakyoin hurriedly rummaged through their supplies and found a couple canteens. He took one and handed it to Jotaro but the other teen's hands were shaking too much to open the cap. Kakyoin swiftly retrieved it and untwisted the cap, then held it for Jotaro to drink from.
"M'fine," Jotaro muttered, reaching up to grab the bottle, only to spill it down his chin.
Kakyoin sighed and took it back, helping Jotaro drink. He took several large gulps before he settled back, closing his eyes, shifting uncomfortably on the rocky ground. His skin was starting to tint red and not just from the injuries and the burns.
Kakyoin worried at his lip, he really needed to get Jotaro out of the sun before he burned up.
Suddenly, he had an idea. He took his uniform coat off and tucked the tail into the car's door before stretching it across Jotaro and anchoring it to a large rock that sat a couple feet away, making a sort of tiny sunshade. Jotaro glanced up at it briefly, and seemed to relax a little now that the sun wasn't beating onto him directly.
"Thanks," he murmured. "But you…"
"I'm fine," Kakyoin assured him. He still had his long-sleeved shirt to protect him, and there was enough shade to cover him a little bit at least. "I only have a couple shallow injuries. Two of those gasoline bullets went right through you, and I know the burns must be bad, especially in this heat."
Jotaro grunted non-committedly, slumping further against the car, tucking his long legs up fully into the shade, bracing his feet against the rock.
Kakyoin sat in silence for a couple more minutes, noticing Jotaro's clenching fists, before he said. "They'll be quick. You know we all have the same goals, Jotaro."
Jotaro refused to look at him, but his hands seemed to loosen just slightly. Kakyoin set his jaw, knowing how he would feel if it was his mother in danger. That was part of the reason why he came along to begin with.
Tumblr media
Jotaro shifted as if seeking a more comfortable position and his back slid against the side of the car, causing him to hiss in pain. Kakyoin glanced over and saw a smear of blood, more drops falling into the sand before.
"Jotaro, you're still bleeding!"
Jotaro glanced down, blinking at the drops of blood. "Said I'm fine."
"Not if we don't stop that bleeding," Kakyoin put his foot down in exasperation and reached into the car again, pulling out a scrap that had been left over from earlier bandaging. He pushed Jotaro forward and pressed hard against the still-bleeding hole through Jotaro's shoulder.
"Dammit, Kakyoin," he growled, the first real reaction Kakyoin had gotten out of him.
"Sorry, but I have to put pressure on this. I'm not going to let you bleed out."
Jotaro gritted his teeth, and Kakyoin caught a flash of something in his eyes before he looked away. Was it…fear? Kakyoin wasn't entirely sure what he'd seen, but it was definitely not something he would expect from Jotaro Kujo.
Jotaro shifted again and Kakyoin checked the wound before pressing harder. Jotaro bowed slightly, another choked off sound escaping his throat. Kakyoin felt him trembling too, more sweat beading on his skin, dripping down to join the drops of blood.
The amount of blood that had soaked into the back of Jotaro's undershirt was not something that gave Kakyoin a good feeling. The other boy really needed stitches for these wounds.
He was able to get the bleeding down to a trickle again, and grabbed more of the scraps and the last of the gauze.
"I'm going to try to plug this," he said. "It will hurt, but it will stop the bleeding."
Jotaro grunted non-committedly and Kakyoin removed the wad of bloody cloth, pulled Jotaro's shirt away from his shoulder and shoved the gauze into the wound.
Jotaro stiffened, a sharp gasp escaping him as his hands clenched in his lap. Kakyoin hurriedly pressed the cloth back over the wound and began tying it off tight against Jotaro's shoulder, hoping that would keep him from bleeding too much more.
He was just finishing up when Jotaro started to sag, and then slumped completely to the side.
Kakyoin's eyes widened and he reached out and grabbed him, hurriedly propping him back up. "Jotaro! Hey!" he shook him. "Hey, this is no time to fall asleep! You hear me? You need to stay awake!"
Jotaro's eyes slit open with a moan, blinking. "Too loud," he grunted.
"Sorry, but you need to stay awake. You're going into shock from blood loss and that's not a good thing," Kakyoin said, trying to keep from panicking. "Just don't pass out on me!"
Jotaro let out a long breath and slumped back against the car, looking like he was fighting to keep his head up, squinting. "'S really hot," he murmured, more sweat dripping down his face as his body shook.
Kakyoin pressed his lips together and reached for the canteen again, offering it to Jotaro to take a few more swallows before he pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and wet it. He reached out to press it against Jotaro's face.
Jotaro jerked back. "What're ya' doin'?" he slurred.
"Keeping you cool," Kakyoin said firmly. "You might want to take off your hat."
Jotaro ducked away again, turning his head away. "No way."
Kakyoin sighed, but worked around it, dabbing the sweat and blood from Jotaro's face and neck before refreshing the cloth again, settling it against the back of his neck.
Jotaro sighed and started to slump again. Kakyoin nudged him. "Come on, don't sleep."
"Trying," Jotaro murmured and he sounded so tired and worn down that Kakyoin felt something twist in his stomach. He hadn't once seen Jotaro lose his cool though he knew that he had nightmares and would bury his head under the pillows at night, sometimes shaking with pent-up emotion. The fact he was slipping now when he knew someone was watching told Kakyoin just how badly he was hurt.
"Talk to me," Jotaro suddenly said, startling Kakyoin.
The red-head resumed his ministrations, feeling suddenly at a loss for words. "About what?"
"Anything," Jotaro said. "Just…keep me awake. You've always got a lot to talk about."
"Well, okay," Kakyoin said and thought about it, looking around for inspiration. "You know, I read this really interesting article once about the desert ecosystem…"
Enough time passed to give them more shade, and though Kakyoin could tell that Jotaro was still only barely hanging on, he was hanging on and that's what mattered. He talked about whatever came into his head and Jotaro listened, nodding or sometimes giving a small sound of acknowledgement. Sometimes even a mumbled question or comment. It was kind of nice actually. Kakyoin had never had anyone to talk to like this besides his parents and though they were always patient and showed interest in what he was interested in, there was something different about talking to a friend who genuinely seemed to enjoy listening to what he had to say. He would never have suspected that Jotaro was so interested in nature and biology and such, but he didn't think that his friend's attention was faked either. It wasn't like he really had the capacity at the moment.
Still, Jotaro was hurting, sure enough, and Kakyoin felt a huge relief when he heard the sound of an engine and saw a jeep pull up next to their car.
He stood up from under their tiny lean-to as Joseph and Polnareff jumped out of the car.
"Kakyoin!" Joseph called, hurrying over.
"Mr. Joestar," Kakyoin sighed in relief.
"How is he?" the old man asked.
"I was able to keep him conscious, but I had to stop the bleeding in his shoulder again. He really needs more attention," Kakyoin said worriedly.
Joseph nodded and knelt to see to his grandson as Kakyoin pulled his coat down, folding it over his arm.
"Jiji," Jotaro murmured as Joseph put a kindly palm to his cheek. The fact Jotaro didn't even pull away was telling.
"We're back, Jojo. Kakyoin, help me get him to the car. It's only a half-hour's drive back to the town."
Kakyoin and Joseph pulled Jotaro to his feet and mostly carried him to the car. They got him into the back and Kakyoin folded his coat around Jotaro's shoulders. It was small but would do a little bit of good at least.
Polnareff and Joseph grabbed the rest of their stuff from the other car and then they were on their way.
Kakyoin glanced over at Jotaro who was slumped against the door, but his eyes were open, meeting the other boy's gaze.
"Thanks," he said quietly.
Kakyoin nodded, a small smile on his lips. "No problem." He paused then said. "But you still can't sleep until we get you proper medical attention."
Jotaro huffed something like a frustrated laugh.
"I know what will keep you up!" Polnareff announced. "Singing!" And he launched into some raucous French song.
"Good grief," Jotaro groaned, ducking down as Kakyoin stuck his fingers in his ears. "You should have left me to bleed out."
They all laughed as Polnareff got offended but they were safe for now, and that was all that mattered.

Can I request Jotaro x fem reader who has an angel like stan who’s feathers can harden like steel or silver? (Basically like Hawks quirk from bnha)
[ I had a ton of fun with this one! c: ]
It was supposed to be a simple car ride.  A long one, at that, but there wasn’t anything wrong with that in your eyes.  After the chaos of India, the stand users, the...Polnareff and the toilet situation...and Avdol, which you now had to hide from the Frenchman he’d been willing to sacrifice himself for, the sheer absurdity of everything and so fast-paced that if you so much as blinked you’d open your eyes to find yourself in yet another trap, yet another battle, yet another hurried attempt to move on in hopes of avoiding enemy contact, constantly out of breath without a moment to yourself, a nice, tranquil, lengthy drive sounded perfect.  There was always the threat of Dio’s minions, but to your knowledge you’d dealt with a fair enough amount of them in India to say that you’d be surprised if the god wasn’t keeping his security closer to his lair.  You had the advantage of a van regardless.  If someone tried to run after you, all that was necessary was a lean into the gas and you’d be gone in an instant, out of harm’s way.  So as the time passed on with you sandwiched between Jotaro and his grandfather, you relaxed for the first time in what felt like a lifetime, gently leaning your head on your boyfriend’s shoulder as he let you sink into him.  He wasn’t much of the embracing type, nor the talkative one, but the occasional serene expressions the two of you would share every now and then, the way his head would sometimes hover over yours, a quiet reassurance of his presence, was more than enough for you.
When the red car began to tail you, you didn’t pay it much attention.  Probably just another traveler.  And especially after Polnareff’s unprecedented swerving around the sedan, a rather annoyed traveler, who, you supposed, had every right to be.  But after Anne rejoined the party, squished in beside you and Mr. Joestar, and a passing glance at the back window to see the mountainous terrain disappear into the vague smoothness of the road, only to notice the very same car, you shifted into cautiousness.  Jotaro sensed it, gaze following yours, eyeing you with a small grunt of acknowledgement before the car suddenly honked at you.  It passed, only to slow you down, either meaning one of two things: a pissed-off driver clinging to vengeance like a moth to a light, or an enemy stand user.  The instant Jotaro asked if anyone had seen the driver’s face, your stand materialized at your side.  Bathed in a golden-white light, practically glowing, feathered wings sprouting from its back, it was an angelic sight.  Every time Jotaro saw it, he was captivated.  But as your stand leaned out the window and hardened its feathers, he was reminded of the situation at hand, and fell quiet as you launched steely projectiles at the car, careful to gather them just behind the driver’s window so that should the car’s operator crank it down you’d have a good view of his face.  Of course, this was all thrown off-balance when you found your own vehicle swerving into a truck.  Instantly you retracted your lost feathers and prepared for a fight only to leave without one.  The rest of the ride went in relative silence, whether from shock or insecurities or lack of conversation material or all of the above, but whatever tranquil quiet you and Jotaro had shared earlier was replaced with an air of tension.  Neither of you let your guard down as you pulled into a small roadside teahouse.
You were still nonetheless fascinated with the idea of sugarcane juice, and Jotaro, noticing your longing glances, ordered one for you.  “Thanks,” you smiled as he passed the drink to you, beginning to sip it.  It tasted like liquid sugar - it was delicious.  Jotaro took note of the pleased grin on your face, and you took note of his mark, offering the glass to him.  “It’s really sweet, but good.  Try some.”
With a shrug, Jotaro began to down it, only to pause midway through his first taste and practically gag.  How could you stand that?  It felt like trying to swallow melted sugar cubes, somehow sweeter than any sugar he’d ever tasted, anything he could’ve ever imagined.  He coughed and crinkled his face with disgust before sliding it back to you.  “All yours,” he grumbled.
“Let me guess.  You take your coffee black, and never use milk or honey in your tea, hm?” you giggled, drinking down the last of it as Jotaro snorted before looking away.  You quickly followed him: the red car was in the parking lot.  Setting your glass down, you moved to head up with the rest of the group, who had evidently noticed the presence of the familiar vehicle, faces shifting with suspicion after the bartender admitted he hadn’t seen the person leaving it.  There was only one option left, then, but the entirety of the group looked ready to punch the truth out of every possible patron, tooth and nail.  “Let me handle this,” you instructed, “we don’t need to waste energy trying to find him before we fight him.  Come on, get a drink and act normal.”
The others sensed your plan and followed suit, Jotaro ordering a black chai tea that didn’t deserve its title as he requested no milk or sweetener in it, leaving just the subtle spices, almost as if to prove a point, eliciting a small laugh from you as you ordered a refill of your juice and settled down at a table with him, beginning to head to work.  The range of your stand was considerably larger than Jotaro’s, albeit not as great as Kakyoin’s, but wide enough to encompass all of the tables and bars stationed around you.  You could feel Jotaro’s eyes carefully watching over you as you set to work.  With your hardened feathers, you sent one to each table, fashioning makeshift quills sharp enough to dig into the wood of the simply-fashioned furniture and carefully but quickly carving the phrase Car? into it.  When nobody showed any signs of response, save for shock at the word suddenly appearing on everyone’s table seemingly out of thin air, you pushed the boundaries a bit more.  Angling your feathers’ sharp points in the direction of the customers, you fired a slow burst of consecutive arrows, denting the tables closer and closer to the patrons every time, slowly but surely, a warning sign at its finest.  Again you were faced with nothing but shocked faces.  Nobody seemed to have noticed it was you sending the calls, or at least, if they did, and indeed saw your hardened feathers approaching, refused to show it.  You set your jaw as you reached the table’s edge, scraping out Show yourself, coward, followed by a forceful jolt as a single feather cemented its way harshly between each patrons’ legs, at the least scaring them and providing a brief trapping just long enough for the others of your team to scan the area only to come up empty before the noise of an engine starting distracted all of you.
The red car was once again on the move.  “Crap,” you muttered, abandoning your drink as you followed Jotaro back to the van and hopped in, bracing yourselves for a rocky, speedy chase, instantly ignited and kicking off the automobile like it had been shoved with the force of a thousand men, jolting forwards and gaining momentum in mere seconds.  You grit your teeth.  If you’d just managed to catch him quicker at the drive-in, or kept your feathers beside the red car’s window, you would’ve been able to make out his face.
Jotaro saw the subtle change in your face and gave you a nudge; his way of reassurance.  “Like hell that asshole’s getting away.”  As the van sped up and swerved around the curves of the road, hitting stray rocks and throwing about its contents, you were slammed into Jotaro time and time again only to extend a wing around Jotaro and the other around yourself, creating a protective, soft barrier between the two of you.  It wasn’t that you disliked his close presence, but you would understandably prefer it if that presence wasn’t caused by a bumpy ride after a stand user as fast as the van could go.  Once more you shot your arrows out at the car, landing almost soundlessly against the red paint behind the driver’s window against the previous indentations you’d left.
A dead end.  And then, somehow, the car was behind you, ramming into the van and lurching everyone forwards, your wings the only things preventing you from flying face-first into the back of Kakyoin’s chair, Mr. Joestar using his size and strong arms to hold himself and Anne back.  And then suddenly you were falling.  Thankfully, Hierophant Green’s quick action and Jotaro’s devilishly pointed action saved you, dragging the culprit down, tightening the wench as you emerged safely on the other side, only for your stand and Star Platinum to emerge at the same time, Jotaro delivering heavy blows to the now airborne vehicle and you piercing through its windows with feathers flying from your wings, sending the red car crashing into the ravine and exploding at the bottom.  And yet just when you thought you were done, the car burrowed up from the ground right beneath your means of transportation.  The stand had been the car all along.
Before you so much as had a chance to stop him, Jotaro was attacking the stand, only for it to shoot at him and puncture straight through his arms in fractions of a second, you barely capable of holding back a gasp as he attempted to steady himself, you quickly catching him and helping him stand, taking off your jacket and tearing it in half to wrap each of his arms within them in a primitive bandage, monitoring him but not interrupting him.  You trusted him.  But it hurt to see him in pain like that, to know that the stand was already capable of such damage when just barely provoked.  You were able to sense the car preparing for its next attack just in time and enveloped Jotaro - and the approaching Kakyoin and Polnareff - in your wings, pulling them tightly to you and hardening your feathers so densely that it took a good portion of your strength to keep them covering the men’s bodies as the next attacks were launched, only to fire and rebound off your protective barrier, just a few managing to hit weak spots and causing cuts, thankfully not deep, to drag along your arms as you braced yourself for more.
“[Y/n], the boulders.  Attack from there,” Jotaro breathed against you, and reluctantly you retracted your wall, darting for the safety of the rocks instead, rushing behind them, giving you just enough time to almost absent-mindedly wrap one wing protectively around Jotaro, holding him close, while the other fired steel-sharp, thorny feathers at the attacker.  They pierced the windows and dug into its sides, but failed to completely penetrate the center of the stand, because the car, albeit slowed by your firing, continued to close in on you.  You let your boyfriend go as everyone scrambled up the mountainside and as the vehicle followed, preparing to attack only to realize what had caused your injuries - gasoline.  More shots were fired before you could stop them, hitting Jotaro squarely once more, you barely catching him in your arms before darting out in front, hardening your wings spread as far as you could stretch them, only for your injuries - and subsequently those of everyone your wings touched - to spark into agonizing flame as electricity raged in your veins.  Despite your agony you managed to throw a glance over your shoulder only to see a fear you never knew you had.
Jotaro was enveloped in flames, collapsing to the ground.  The rest of the world faded away, there was nothing but you and the ever-fading faint calls of the others to stay back, but you wouldn’t stay back, you couldn’t stay back, because all you saw and heard and felt was Jotaro, burning, right in front of you, as a scream ripped through your throat as you fumbled for anything, anything, to douse the fire in, only for Jotaro’s voice to snap you out of it.  Your heart was in your chest - the sound had come from behind you, but the flames still raged in front of you...were you just imagining things, trying to avoid the terrifying thought that you’d never see the one you loved most again?  But as you turned, a gasp escaped you as Jotaro struggled out of the ground, you rushing to his side and helping him up.  “Jotaro!”
“I’m okay, [y/n],” he reassured, voice low as he readied himself for the next round of offense, an arm, the less injured one but bleeding nonetheless, draping itself around your shoulder and giving your arm a gentle squeeze, “but it’s time to make this bastard pay.”

Crusader of Life (Kakyoin x Reader) Chapter 17
It was time. Dio. The man who took Joseph’s grandfather’s body and plotted a world takeover. You would defeat him, no matter what, and you promised yourself that. And with your friends by your side, you knew you could do it.
“Kakyoin, do something about your girlfriend.”
“We’ve just lost some of our teammates and friends, and you expect her to just stop crying?”
“We’re getting close to Dio’s room, and he’s bound to be in there. Her loud crying will alert him. She at least needs to quiet down!”
“Well, that much is true...”
Although you still couldn’t compose yourself, you all agreed that you had to keep moving. But now, as the dark, eerie feeling in your heart grew stronger from his presence alone, you needed to calm down. That was the problem; you couldn’t. With Polnareff’s oh so sympathetic instructions to Kakyoin, you found an arm around your shoulder, pulling you towards the body it was attached to.
“I know it’s hard,” Kakyoin sighed. “I’m sorry it’s hard for you to bottle up your emotions.”
You clutched his body tightly, as you tried (and failed horribly) to stop crying, feeling your throat tighten and your breathing become sharp and sudden. “I-I-I feel like I should’ve b-b-been there,” you chocked out. “I-I-I-I could’ve s-saved... th-them...”
“That may be true,” Kakyoin ran his fingers through your hair, “but none of this could’ve been predicted. Maybe, if you weren’t with us, one of us was killed. You would feel just as guilty.”
“Kakyoin, she’s getting louder!” Polnareff complained. “Just cover her mouth with one of Hierophant’s tentacles or whatever! We’re getting too close to risk anything!”
“Maybe if you would show her some sympathy and try to calm her down instead of trying to shut her up with force,” Kakyoin snapped, “she would be quiet quicker.”
“J-j-just leave m-me beh-h-hind,” you sniffled. “I’m becoming a h-hinderance, anyw-way.”
“And give Dio the chance to take your life while we’re not looking?” Kakyoin objected. “We at least need to be in groups of two, and that’s just for normal enemies. But with Dio, we need to all stick together.”
You nodded, feeling your breathing get a little more steady.
“Hay, look at me,” Kakyoin cupped your chin. “I know we promised to not put the blame on ourselves if one of us died, but know that I’ll try my hardest to prevent that promise from being relevant.”
You stuffed your face into Kakyoin’s uniform and let out all the final cries before wiping the tears away and putting on a tough face. “I’m ready,” you said, eyes stained from the tears and throat still tight.
“Are we almost there, Nukesaku?” Jotaro asked.
“We’re getting there, just be patient!” Nukesaku growled.
After some more walking, you had entered a room that was like a fridge. Even if it were a warm place, the feeling deep inside your soul, the begging of your heart to run away, it confirmed that Dio was in this room.
“Lord Dio,” Nukesaku’s arms trembled as he started to open the lid to his master’s coffin, “please don’t think that I’ve betrayed you. In fact, the only reason I led them all the way here was because you can take care of them easily!”
He had fully opened the lid, and revealed...
“Wh-what?” Nukesaku exclaimed from inside the coffin. “But... I was just opening it! How am I inside?”
The five of you were taken aback, as well. After all, none of you had taken your eyes off of him. That’s when you felt something. A murderous intent. A feeling that, if you didn’t get out of that room right now, you would die. It was the exact same feeling as before, but so strong it overtook every other feeling you had. Strangely, though, it was also relieving, like you had done something that put you in danger, and your loving father was hugging you tightly, comforting you, telling you everything was gonna be okay now, but you knew you were gonna get it when you got home. Apparently, everyone else also felt that, because Joseph shouted, “Everyone, run!”
All of you immediately jumped out of the hole that Star Platinum had punched through just moments ago, Joseph having to grab Polnareff with Hermit Purple.
“What was that?” you shuddered while everyone was still free-falling. “It felt like something was watching me, waiting for the moment to strike, like a predator watching its prey.”
All of you grabbed onto the sides of the mansion, and slowly let yourselves down onto an etch in the building wide enough to sit down on.
“Right, you’ve never felt Dio’s influence before,” Kakyoin said, “although no amount of knowing what it felt like prepared me for the second time.”
“Neither did it for me,” Polnareff agreed. “But I’m done running! I’ll face Dio head on next time!”
“We need to think of a plan first,” Joseph said. “And, I hate to say it, but that might involve running away. We’re going to be helpless until dawn, after all.”
“No!” Polnareff objected. “I told you, I’m done running away! I’ll fight him, even if I have to go off on my own!”
“Don’t you remember where that got you last time?” you argued. “Do you ever learn?”
“Shut up!” Polnareff shouted. “I’ve made up my mind!” And with that, he ran off.
“That man is stubborn,” you grumbled.
“Wait,” Jotaro said. “Maybe we could use that to our advantage. If some of us stay behind, while the others flee, then Dio will be in the perfect place for a pincer attack.”
“That’s a good idea, Jotaro!” Joseph complimented. “I’d expect nothing less from my grandson, though.”
After setting up your teams, you, Joseph, and Kakyoin all made an escape in a truck, while Jotaro went to find Polnareff and tell him the plan. It was decided you should be with the getaway group, because that was the one that Dio would be chasing after, and you would need to use Ace of Pentacles to mend any wounds.
“I can feel him,” Joseph said. “I can feel Dio’s presence gaining on us.”
“Is that some sort of Joestar gift?” you asked, almost jokingly. “Being able to sense a vampire a mile away?”
“Not exactly,” Joseph answered. “It’s more along the lines of, ‘I can sense another Joestar a mile away’. After all, Dio has my grandfather’s body. And with that body, he can probably sense me, but he doesn’t know whether it’s Jotaro or me. Hopefully, he assumes we’re both in the truck.”
“You don’t look very comfortable, (Y/N),” Kakyoin said. “Is it cramped in the middle?”
“I’m fine, I promise,” you reassured him. “After all, were going against Dio. The last thing we need to worry about is my comfort.”
“I feel Dio’s presence closing in on us!” Joseph exclaimed. “He’s in the car behind ours!”
“Hierophant Green!” Kakyoin shouted, summoning his Stand.
“Ace of Pentacles!” you called out your Stand, as well, just in case he got hurt.
“There’s a guy in the car with Dio,” Kakyoin described to the two of you. “That one is driving the car. He’s pretty banged up.”
“I hate it when people use others like it’s no big deal,” you growled. “Make sure Dio gets the worst, Kakyoin!”
“You got it! Emerald Splash!”
You heard glass breaking, then a door flying off.
“What? He brushed it off like it was nothing! I’ll try a more concentrated splash.”
This time, you looked in the back window, and saw the roof of the car break through.
“He still deflected it!” Kakyoin shuddered. “How did he...? Wait, when did he summon his Stand?!”
You saw Hierophant go flying back into multiple street signs, and heard Kakyoin make grunts in pain.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!” you cried. Using Ace, you welded together the wounds all over him.
“Thank you,” Kakyoin breathed hard, touching the now mended spots where he had been hurt, and yelped when he touched them.
“It’ll take a while for your nerves to be used to it,” you told him. “Don’t touch the healed spots.”
“Right,” he grunted.
“Ah, good, the car stopped,” Joseph sighed, still flooring it.
“Mr. Joestar,” Kakyoin gasped, “something’s coming straight at us!”
Sure enough, a man covered in blood was sent hurdling though the back window, making Joseph spin out of control and crash.
Frantically, Kakyoin helped you out of the burning truck. “Are you alright?” he asked.
“I’m fine,” you said. “Don’t waste any time checking up on me. We have to get out of here!”
Kakyoin grabbed your waist and used Hierophant to hoist the two of you up to the top of a building right before Dio saw you.
“I think I have an idea,” he muttered. “I know how to figure out the secret of The World! (Y/N), you’ll have to stay with Mr. Joestar.”
You nodded, and Joseph hoisted you up on his back and used Hermit Purple to leap from building to building. Eventually, Dio started chasing after you, but something stopped him.
“Emeralds?” you wondered out loud. You watched as Dio leaped back, but then more emeralds shot from behind him. Of course! This was Kakyoin’s trick to uncovering The World’s secret!
Joseph landed on the roof of a building and set you down, allowing both of you to look at what was really going on. There, you saw a barrier that Hierophant had set up all over the area.
“Now, to see the real identity of The World!” Kakyoin shouted. “Take this, Dio! Twenty-meter radius Emerald Splash!”
The emeralds started to close in on Dio, but he didn’t look the slightest bit worried. “The World!” he yelled. Then, as the emeralds collided, Kakyoin was sent flying back with a huge hole in his abdomen.
“Kakyoin!” you shrieked. “No!” You rushed over to the side of the roof when you were held back by purple thorns.
“Let me go!” you screamed. “I know my limits, Mr. Joestar! I’m not gonna kill myself!”
“I can’t let you just rush off impulsively, (Y/N)!” Joseph cried. However, while he was busy holding your original copy back, you made a new copy of yourself that jumped off of the edge of the building.
“She’ll never make it to him,” Dio cackled. “Nobody can make that jump!”
You knew that. You knew that jumping off was suicide. But you knew what you were doing, and it wasn’t anything suicidal. Ace of Pentacles made a copy of you above, and that copy pushed off of you. Then, that copy did the same thing. Soon enough, multiple copies of yourself were jumping off of each other like a crashing screen on Windows XP, and one of those copies grabbed onto the ledge of the building that Kakyoin had landed on. You climbed up from that ledge, and saw a puddle of red-tinted water near a water tower, and Kakyoin’s motionless body sitting there, eyes barely open.
“Kakyoin!” Your eyes were already welling up. You lifted him from the tower and set him down in a dry spot. “Don’t move,” you ordered, but your wavering voice made it sound more like a plead. “If I mess anything up, you’ll be in constant pain.”
You checked all of his organs, and sighed with relief. None of his organs were completely missing, only damaged. Wiping the tears away from your face, you got to work.
Okay, vital organs first. Lungs, stomach, anything else that he would need. But lungs absolutely first. He’s gonna need to breathe. Ace of Pentacles patched up the missing spots in his lungs, and Kakyoin started breathing heavily.
“T-time...” he croaked out.
“What?”
“The World’s secret... is time...”
And his eyes closed. Frantically, you put your ear to his chest. He couldn’t be dead, he couldn’t be!
The thump in his heart proved you right. You let your tears flow free now, just happy he was still alive. But that wasn’t going to distract you from the task at hand.
Alright, lungs have been mended, now the rest of the organs. Carefully, Ace duplicated the cells, and fixed them up. Next was the bones. It would be hard to move if his ribcage was gone. That was a little easier than the organs, since it was a little more straightforward. But even easier was the muscles and blood vessels, and then, the skin. Soon enough, all of Kakyoin’s body had been restored to its normal state. Despite knowing he wouldn’t wake up for a while, you hugged him tightly. “I won’t let you go,” you whispered. “I won’t let you die. Not after Avdol and Iggy didn’t even get a chance.”
For a while, you held him in your arms, stroking his wet hair, getting some of the water from the puddle and washing off the blood on his arms and legs. You didn’t stop holding him until a helicopter hovered over you. A ladder was slowly let down, along with a woman who was hanging onto that ladder. Upon closer inspection, you noticed she had a SPW hat on. Thank goodness, a Speedwagon worker!
“He looks alright,” the worker shouted to be heard over the copter. “You healed him very well.”
“Thank you,” you shouted back. “Will he be alright?”
“He will be just fine, thanks to you,” the woman smiled. You handed Kakyoin to her, and she carefully held him in her arms. “It’s a long way down,” she told you. “You want a ride?”
“Yes, ma’am,” you replied. You grabbed on to the lowest rung, and the helicopter slowly lowered the ladder even more until you could safely jump to the ground.
“Now, go help the others!” the Speedwagon woman said. “Be the light at the end of the tunnel!”
“I will!” You rushed off, in search of your friends. You had to tell them Dio’s secret, as well.
You started to run all throughout Cairo, in hopes of finding Dio and the others, but so far, nothing. You wondered if they were alright, or if you could get there in time. What if it was too late? No, you couldn’t think about that now, not while you still had to look for the ones you were so worried about.
Then, a silhouette came into view. Joseph’s silhouette. He seemed to look okay, to your relief. “Mr. Joestar!” you cried out. “Hey! I healed Kak-“
“Don’t come any closer, (Y/N)!” Joseph interrupted. “You too, Jotaro! Both of you, stay back!”
You looked a bit further down, and saw your classmate looking just as surprised as you were.
“Jotaro, Mr. Joestar!” you shouted. “The secret of The World’s ability is time! The World has the ability to stop ti-“
“The World!” Dio shouted. Soon after, he seemed to have teleported again, right next to Joseph, who had a knife puncturing his neck, and was lying on the floor.
“Mr. Joestar!” you screamed. Before you could run towards him, though, Dio teleported behind you, and grabbed your throat. No, not teleported. He stopped time and walked. Still, he had you in his grasp, with a knife in his hand. As much as you tried to struggle, nothing broke you free. You thought he would spare you for a little bit, and would most likely use you more as bait to get Jotaro closer, but you soon realized you were only right about one of those things, as he stabbed the knife through your chest and sliced it open, barely missing the heart. The whole thing made you scream in agony, with tears pouring down the sides of your cheeks. You were in so much pain you almost didn’t realize the mask he put over your face, and him reaching his fingers into the open wound. Wait. Joseph had told you stories of the stone mask, and how putting blood on it activated its powers, and destroyed the victim’s humanity, both morally and physically, making them a creature of the night. Dio wasn’t... Dio couldn’t... would he really... make you a vampire? The very thought of being the same as Dio made your heart thump so hard you could feel it.
“Such an innocent girl,” Dio smirked. “She wouldn’t be able to survive a week with vampirism. I don’t think she’d feed on blood even if her stomach was eating itself. What do you think, Jotaro?” He spat out that name like it was nasty food. “I just might have to use the mask on her, though, if you won’t get close enough for me to attack.”
That was enough to send Jotaro running towards Dio, fists clenched, Star Platinum summoned. Once again, Dio stopped time, and left you crumpled on the ground while Jotaro went flying back.
“You did the right thing, Jotaro,” Dio sneered. “I would have had the mask clamp around her face, but you saved her just in time.”
The wound on your chest made you much weaker, to the point where you couldn’t even get yourself off the ground. Still, you started crawling to Joseph’s side, summoning Ace of Pentacles. Although your vision was blurred, you could clearly see Dio’s blonde hair whip around, and his body get closer to yours until he picked you up by your neck, cutting off your air.
“Trying to heal him, are you?” Dio snickered. He violently threw you on the ground, and stepped on your head, putting lots of pressure on it. Despite your screeching protests, the pressure kept getting worse and worse, until you heard a cracking sound. Oh, but he wasn’t done, yet. Dio had The World pick you up, and fling you to the other side of the street with ease. You tumbled across the ground until you skidded to a halt. As Dio approached your beaten up body again, you prepared for the worst. However, before he could land another hit on you, Star Platinum sent a devastating punch through The World, making him fly back.
“Get out of here,” Jotaro ordered.
“But, but Mr. Joestar-“ your voice was as loud as you could make it, and even you could barely hear it. Still Jotaro seemed to understand what you were trying to say.
“The old man’ll be fine, just go!” he shouted.
Gradually, you shuffled along the ground, away from the chaos of the battle between Star Platinum and The World. You didn’t get far, though, before all of the pain Dio inflicted on you was catching up. You knew you had to heal yourself, even if it was just a little bit. Sighing, you rolled over, and summoned Ace of Pentacles again. But you had so little energy that you couldn’t even duplicate one cell. On top of that, your ears wouldn’t pick anything up anymore, and your eyes weren’t really seeing anything other than black. Was... was this it? Were you going to die here, alone on the ground? It seemed more than likely.
“Mr. Joestar,” you said aloud, “I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to you in time. Jotaro, I’m sorry I didn’t get out of the way in time. Avdol and Iggy, I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me. Polnareff, I’m sorry I lashed out at you on more than one occasion. And Kakyoin... Kakyoin, I’m sorry you didn’t get to say thank you to me for saving your life. Please don’t hold it against yourself.”
With what little vision you had left, you could see Ace of Pentacles flickering away from sight. “I’m sorry,” you whispered. “Ace, I’m sorry I couldn’t keep you alive longer.”
You took in the brilliant night sky one last time as your final view, then closed your eyes. For some reason, your last breaths felt... peaceful. Like you had fulfilled your purpose, and you told your now grown up child to pull the plug on the life support.
“Please fell my parents I loved them,” you said, knowing nobody could hear you.
“Goodbye.”

And yet another Sadao one-shot
AU where Kakyoin survives Dio punching him in the stomach by creating some kind of armor around his stomach with Hierophant Green, but doesn’t get away unscathed.
Noriaki opened his eyes, groaning at the throbbing ache in his skull. At least I’m not dead… he thought as he weakly pat his stomach area. It seemed… caved in, which couldn’t possibly be good, and it hurted like a bitch, but he still seemed to be in one piece.
“Hey, you okay?” A rough voice asked him. Kakyoin turned toward the source, now realizing he was in the back of a moving car, his vision unfocused. And the voice was… familiar, somehow…
“J… Jotaro?”
“How do you… not important. Just hang on, okay kid? I’m driving you to the hospital.” Noriaki groaned in answer, and immediately passed out.
-
When Noriaki opened his eyes again, he was in a hospital room, with bandages around his forehead and midsection, and his arm was connected to an I.V. drip. The pain in his body had also faded away to a dull throb. He turned his head, surprised to see a short man with long hair asleep in a chair next to his bed. “Uh… sir?”
“NO I WASN’T SLEEPING IN PRACTICE- Oh.” The man’s grey eyes went from wide in panic to focused on him. “You’re awake. How are you feeling?”
“... not well.” He admitted, averting his eyes. “Are you the one who got me down from the water tower?”
“Yeah, and also drove you to the hospital. Don’t worry, I’m sure my wife won’t mind me using her family connections to help you.” The man said. Noriaki nodded, briefly wondering how such a small man got him down from a water tower, but decided that he had seen weirder stuff during the last few weeks and thus, would not ask.
“Thank you, sir.” He said, nodding slightly
“No problem. I’m Kujo Sadao, by the way. No need for that ‘sir’ stuff.” Noriaki blinked.
“You’re… are you related to Jotaro?” The short man- Sadao- frowned.
“Yeah… and I’ve been meaning to ask: how do you know my son?” He asked, and Noriaki flinched at the sudden and very sheer coldness. How was he supposed to explain that?
“Uh… we’re… friends from school…?” He tried. Sadao raised an unconvinced eyebrow.
“Nice try: Jotaro doesn’t like anyone at his school.” Noriaki groaned.
“How would you know? From what I understood, you’re not really here often.” He spat out. Sadao looked taken aback for a moment, before his expression hardened.
“I still know who my son is.” The short man said in a shaky tone. “And I know that his classmates are loud, mean, and confusing. So, if you’re really a friend of my son, then you’re sure as hell not in his class, let alone his school. And even if you were, please do explain to me how a japanese student who lives in Tokyo ended up unconscious in a destroyed water tower in Cairo with a concussion and internal damage focused on his stomach area, because really. I want to know.”
Noriaki looked at Sadao for a minute, remembered Jotaro at the beginning of their journey, asking whether or not they should call his father, and took a deep breath. “Where do I start…”
-
“... and that’s the whole story.” Sadao blinked slowly, trying to process what the redhead in front of him just said. He then took a deep breath, decided that all of his anger was gonna directed onto his father-in-law, and got up.
“Thank you, um…”
“Kakyoin Noriaki.”
“Kakyoin-san, for this… enlightening conversation.” It was the best way to put ‘I had no idea any of this happened’ into words he could find without cursing anyone. “Do you wish me to tell the doctors to call your parents?”
“... Can we wait until I’m more recovered?”
“Of course. Have a good rest.” He then left, grabbing his trenchcoat and hat off the chair he was sitting on, put them on, took his sunglasses out of his pocket, and started making his way to the reception as he put those on.
“Excuse me?” Sadao told the receptionist, who raised his head. “But can I talk to Joseph Joestar?”
The receptionist blinked. “Excuse me sir, but who…?”
“Right. Sadao Kujo, I’m his son-in-law. And I need to talk to him.” He explained, and after a short pause, the receptionist nodded. Thank god this was a Foundation hospital.
“Room 304, and your son’s room is right next to it.” Sadao thanked her, and started making his way to the room, feeling the (already impressive) anger he felt at the situation go from simmering to boiling.
He knocked on the door, and did not wait for anyone to tell him to come in before opening. Joseph was in the middle of a conversation with Jotaro and another man with white hair that Sadao did not know. The old man immediately cringed, and Jotaro tilted his head in confusion. “Sadao?”
“Hello, Jotaro.” He greeted, his anger momentarily dying. “I’m glad to see you’re okay.”
“What… what are you doing here?”
“The last step of my tour was Egypt, and I’ve been told by your redheaded friend you were there too, so…” Jotaro’s eyes widened.
“Noriaki’s still alive!?” The white-haired man asked, surprise written all over his pale face. Sadao nodded, not bothering to hide his confusion.
“Yes, um… I don’t know who you are.”
“Oh! I am Jean-Pierre Polnareff, mister Sadao.” He presented himself. “Say, are you related to Jotaro? You kinda look like him...”
“Sure hope so, I’m his father.” Polnareff was frozen into place, visibly having so difficulty linking the concept of this very short man nearing fifty to the hulking teenager.
“I…”
“You’re not there to check on me, are you?” Jotaro asked. Sadao shook his head in answer. “You’re there to yell at Jiji and want me to leave because you don’t like yelling when I’m here?” A nod this time. The teen got up. “Can you tell me where Noriaki is?”
“Room 418, he’s currently resting.” Sadao told his son, who nodded and got up. The anger came back and almost doubled when he saw the sling Jotaro’s left arm was in as the teen got up, Polnareff following shortly after. “Wanna call your mother later?” Jotaro nodded, and left.
Sadao turned toward Joseph, taking his sunglasses off and putting the older man fully under his glare’s pressure. The old man frowned. “What? I didn’t think you’d have to know about that-”

Crusader of Life: Chapter 17
“Kakyoin, do something about your girlfriend.”
“We’ve just lost some of our teammates and friends, and you expect her to just stop crying?”
“We’re getting close to Dio’s room, and he’s bound to be in there. Her loud crying will alert him. She at least needs to quiet down!”
“Well, that much is true…”
“I-I-I-I could’ve s-saved… th-them…”
“That may be true,” Kakyoin ran his fingers through your hair, “but none of this could’ve been predicted.
He had fully opened the lid, and revealed…
“Wh-what?” Nukesaku exclaimed from inside the coffin. “But… I was just opening it!
“How did he…?
“T-time…” he croaked out.
“What?”
“The World’s secret… is time…”
And his eyes closed.
