Compton Boole Personality Theory (Psychonauts 2)

HERE IT IS. COMPTON BOOLE PERSONALITY THEORY IS HERE AT LAST. I would like to begin with the fact that this theory uses evidence that is proposed from a different theory I have written: the Psychonauts 2 music theory. I will link this at the bottom of the post.

Compton Boole Personality theory. Allow me to propose a theory regarding beloved Psychonaut character Compton Boole. Throughout the events of Psychonauts 2, we weren't exposed to much of Compton Boole's personality, as he was ridden with anxiety and was unable to act how he naturally would. We got hints of his true personality through his actions and memories of him in collective memory reels. But have we been exposed to a hidden part of his personality obscured and dismissed by his surface level kindness? What might Compton have been like in the past, or if he could act without trying to protect himself the way he has? To begin, after completing videogame Psychonauts 2, we have access to speak to all the characters in the game post completion. When speaking to him post game, Compton jokes about eating goats. How funny. This is clearly a form of dark humour. This sort of manner of speaking would not resurge itself suddenly for no reason. This fact proves that Compton has a history of telling and communicating with dark humour. Additionally, when speaking to Compton for the first time in the game's story, and quitting his conversation after asking for help with the mole, Compton gives a sarcastic remark, saying "tsk, if you say so" (I actually forgot exactly what he says but it's ALONG THE LINES). Secondly, according to Psychonauts 2 Music Theory (Sad Mission), the genres of music in levels and inside minds correspond to the character's previous exposure or history with the genre of music. Through the level Compton's Cookoff, it is understandable and believable how Compton may have been exposed to old game show music through his upbringing, leading him to manifest similar music to cover the theme of Ram it Down. However, the interest lies during the end of Compton's Cookoff. During the boss of the level, the level plays music that can confidently be categorized in the genre of Metal. Music in a level can correspond to a character's history, prior exposure, or sentimentality. Music would not resurge due to prior exposure from exposure alone, because the goats themselves have no connection to metal as a genre to begin with, so you can discount that as reason for the music. The connection of history is used only when a setting highlights the setting's past, without any purposeful inclination to the genre. Because the boss fight is not a peer into Compton's past, we can discount that as a reason for the genre. I believe the music on the boss fight is metal because of sentimentality. I believe I can confidently conclude this shows that Compton Does, or more likely Used to listen to metal. Lastly, Compton's favourite colour is purple, and purple is an edgy colour. This is no debate. I conclude this because, in his isolation (or past), Compton Boole sat down and LEARNED how to make his teleport all pretty. nobody else has done this!! ONLY COMPTON, presumably during all the time he spent in ompton jail, and made it purple. Additionally, the walls of his cell are bright purple-pink (magenta), a colour I believe only an enjoyer of the colour purple would not go insane looking at. He is a purple man I sense it. On the same note, he has purposely trained himself to ornate his teleportation ability with a crt-esque / glitch effect.

Tagging in after this was published for a small addition to the EVIDENCE of this. I keep replaying the game and I keep my full trust in this theory. This is super small and weak, but just the plethora of early images of Compton with smug expressions. Love you man stay strong #girlsforever

According to my three (now four) pieces of evidence, his use of dark humour and sarcasm, Compton's history of being a listener of metal, and a like for purple, the edgiest colour, and his edgy teleport effect, I can conclude that Compton Boole is edgy. Compton Boole is not as single faceted as his simple, kind, and caring facade leads you to believe. That he infact has a side to some of his true tastes hidden beyond the surface level. Compton Boole (BOO)

Idk if any of my followers read my posts or if my posts just get interactions from reshares, but if you are a Compton Boole fan, you should read Compton Boole personality theory!! I made it FUNNY I promise. It's in the same vein as the Truman Zanotto callout. The premise of this post is that we don't really get to see Omp's true personality during the game due to his anxiety, but you can interpret what it was like based on old interactions, memory reels, and his dialogue as evidence, and I promise I come to an INTERESTING conclusion. I would highly appreciate if you let me know what you thought of it because I think about it a LOT and I've only ever had two friends read it!
