Since Scott Lynch still hasn't released the fourth book in the gentleman bastard series I've been successfully reading Red Seas Under Red Skies for four years. That way by the time I've finished The Republic Of Thieves the book will *hopefully* be released. The math is mathing.

The Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch! I will NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT THIS SERIES. You want fantasy? Found family? A badass gang of thieves caught up in political and magical intrigue?? PIRATES?! I love these books so much I love Locke I love Jean I love Sabetha I’m obsessed with The Falconer I neED THE FOURTH BOOK LYNCH-

But seriously the world building in these books is incredible, the first book can be a bit disorientating because of the constant switching between present-day and flashbacks, but I adore Lynch’s ability to give you all the information but still leave bits that are just BEGGING for more lore. Who were the Eldren? What’s Elderglass? What the fuck was that thing in the fog that knew Locke’s real name?? What’s the backstory of Father Chains? (FC spin-off nOW PLEASE)

As of this point the series is still ongoing so maybe they’ll get answered eventually but it’s fun to speculate. Absolutely the trilogy of all time 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
