Im so excited when I see the official logo and poster of The Fantastic 4 on Valentines Day. All the 60s vides, the cast reveal, and also H.E.R.B.I.E!!

Just in time when I release Doctor Doom previously, this will complete the Baxter Building in your Sims 4 world!

All of the suit is based on Marvel Future Fight model. The texture, the mesh, and now im working on 5 swatches for all 4 of them so it will give them more alternative looks. Stay tuned!!

Ok, I took the Doppelganger Console down to fix some issues I missed, but now it's back, exorcised and improved!

I feel like a ginormous asshole for not catching my fubars before posting, and then it taking so long to fix, so as an apology, I've made you four customs video games!

So, I made these really elaborate movies for the games before I realized that they would be too long for the games themselves, but at that point there was no way I wasn't going to use them. My favorites of the new reads were probably Nettle and Bone, The Hollow Places, Nimona, and In Other Lands. Yes, that's two T. Kingfisher books in my top four. This was my first time reading her books, but I will definitely be seeking out more; she's fantastic. Weirdly, I don't think I read a single nonfiction book this year, which is something I'd like to change next year.

Hi! I hope you are having a fantastic day! I am just going to go ahead and apologize for the plethora of questions you are about to read, but, I can’t help it! Your story has me HOOKED! Like, I’m sure you’ve seen the notifs. Ok, enough rambling, here it goes…

First, how long does it take you to set up a scene

Second, how are you so good at writing?!

Third, what made you want to write about Eve?

Fourth, was there any research involved?

Fifth, is that your personal reshade/gshade?

Sixth, what do you use to edit your photos?

HEYYYY SO I was away from my computer for awhile. Then I opened up my iPad and saw I had so MANY notifications. It had me like

I’m really glad you enjoy the story! There’s a lot of juicy (and perhaps even DRAMATIC) content coming up as we progress onward!! But I’m gonna break down these questions. Sorry to my followers in advance for the length. 😔

First, how long does it take you to set up a scene? It really, really depends. There are some lots I have made from scratch that have taken roughly two days to complete. These lots include Sal’s apartment, the bowling alley Sal and Eve went to. Then there’s some lots that were shells and had to be decorated. These lots include Eve’s home which is made by @ceeproductions And other lots? They’re either downloaded ( @beansbuilds is my FAVORITE creator when it comes to builds with @alexisarielgaming being right behind her ) or they're 'borrowed' from friends like @trucktoast who made the Reverb nightclub for his own gameplay, but because I didn’t want to make my own nightclub, and all the ones I found were too high-scale looking he let me download the lot.

Now, with the lot and decorations out of the way, I only need to know how I’m going to be using this lot for the scene. And because I don’t make my own poses, I need to think of ways I’m going to make the scene easy and work with the poses I have downloaded and also still get what I want across. If I don’t have a couples pack, this requires mixing-and-matching different poses which can take a few minutes. But with that said, a one person scene doesn’t take long at all. Just a few minutes. A two person scene? Let’s say ten minutes or maybe a little more depending on if I’m vibing with the angles. Then there’s the above mix-and-matching poses I have to do when it comes to two sims. Then, scenes with four or more sims takes forever. A scene like the nightclub sequence literally took hours and more than one day (I had to give myself a break). I had it set up as a FUNCTIONAL nightclub, so I wouldn’t just be relying on deco sims. And there were times where the townies would sit where Sosha or Ke’Sherri was sitting and I was like, “PLEASE!” Could I have posed all these townies? Yes. But, I wasn't going to spend that much time getting things perfect. Then the Marcus & Eve argument sequence had to be done separately from the scene where Sal was waiting outside the cinema. So it didn’t take long, but I still had to make sure that I could get these scenes to ‘line up’ the way I wanted.  But the best thing to do is to keep sims in the same household for scenes they’re in together. And also, sometimes to just see them generally do things on their own (like walk, box, or shower) is better than posing them.

Second, how are you so good at writing?! I DON’T KNOW. I’m honestly a super harsh critic of myself! I question the script and overthink my dialogue like nobody’s business. I also closely tie my writing with music, like I’m always listening to something or thinking of ways that a song can reflect my characters or story.

Third, what made you want to write about Eve? Well, Eve is my baby. 😭 But on the real, I wanted to write a romance. I don’t really let myself write romance. I’m really into crime & comedy with romance being more of a side thing. When I was younger I had a, ‘I’m not like other girls phase I don’t fall for CHEAP ROMANTIC PLOTS’ but as I’ve gotten older I’m like you know what? Romance is nice. Nothings wrong with it. I want to write something sweet and character driven. When it comes to Eve’s characterization I just love the boujee black girl aesthetic? I eat it up visually. But waaayy more importantly than that, I wanted to tell a story about female loneliness because I don’t feel like there’s enough media that portrays that. Sure, we have depictions of women’s rage or women embracing their sexuality, but where are stories of women who are in lonely solitude? Who struggle with not just boyfriends, but keeping adult friendships? I always felt like white male characters were allowed to be written in this matter, but women (E S P E C I A L L Y black women) aren’t. We also aren't really allowed to be shown as shy introverts, either. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

Fourth, was there any research involved? For the boxing segment YES. I watched videos for beginners and took literal notes. Fifth, is that your personal reshade/gshade? So, I use reshade and the preset I use is called s-drama. But to be honest, I don’t even think I installed it right. Like, I have the textures and everything, but I really tampered with the other options to get a different effect than what’s shown in the preview images. Sixth, what do you use to edit your photos? Take my screenshots with reshade. THEN I take it to photopea (a good, FREE alternative to photoshop. Highly recommend it.) and enhance the color with a psd, although I have the psd’s strength cranked down to 34% sometimes higher depending on the scene. I blur things in the background and boom! It’s ready! (Then I put all the caps, both raw and edited on a hard drive cause yeah. I can’t have them taking up space.) ANYWAY THANK YOUUUU. 🥰🥰Everyday I see Marcus in my game (or if I’m dressing him up) I’m like you’re too cute to be doing this. I’m wasting a good looking sim on this bullshit. 😭😭

I hope you keep enjoying the story! There’s still a lot to cover. Will Eve enter a relationship with Sal?! Will Marcus redeem himself?! ( cause trust me, he’ll be reappearing eventually ❄️☃️ ) Will she EVER let go of her grandparent’s home!? Only time will tell!!

As a prequel, it does give greater insight into some characters and a bit of context about the overall conflict raging on around you, but this gets muddy and hard to follow. This is a good decision that makes the campaign feel fresher and often more challenging.Īgain, the story fails to do much at all. Goals are less repetitive and are built more around exploration – often without providing an objective marker. While only four chapters long, Nightfall offers plenty of content, with some of the most expansive levels in the game and opening up all abilities to you from the start. Acting as a prequel narrative, in this short expansion you play as one of two shadow-adept soldiers seeking to stop your empress from being trapped by the enemy – the light-wielding ‘Kaiho’. Entering a huge new level to realise that, ‘oh, I have to break a light barrier, then reach the next area… again’ is disappointing.įortunately, the objectives issue is directly resolved in Nightfall. This does, however, dent the overall enjoyment a little. You’ll be breaking many light barriers and infiltrating many pagodas before the night is over, but again, this would only be a major issue if the game played poorly. While the levels are cleverly designed and a blast to play through, objectives are rote and repetitive. I did have one let down throughout: the objectives. Use the story for context, don’t take it too seriously and just revel in the shadow-hopping stab-fest. But it’s one of those rare instances where the gameplay is so fun that it really doesn’t matter. Tacky dating sim bad, in places totally atonal to the feudal Japan setting. In fact, this game is built for completionists, encouraging multiple run-throughs of each level to be the best possible shadow ninja you can be.Ĭounter to this, the story is completely forgettable – although it does have a good ending – and the dialogue is actively bad.

That is unless you’re going for a full ghost playthrough or something like that. You’ve got plenty of options to make it through each level though, so while having fewer abilities might make it tougher, the game isn’t particularly difficult as is. I hadn’t unlocked more than half of the abilities by the time I’d finished the campaign. Which is handy, because finding scrolls can be tricky, requiring extensive exploration. There are many more abilities – which you unlock by finding scrolls – but even with just these two you can feel like a fully fledged stealth assassin. As you get familiar with movement and where you can and cannot teleport to, you settle into a satisfying rhythm that never lets up. As a shadow spirit, your abilities only refill while you’re sheltered under dark, and will drain rapidly in the light. You can also paint shadows on any unlit surface, for even more options to aid both traversal and murder. It’s a fantastic stalking tool and one that lets you explore the densely designed levels with cunning. This is basically the blink ability from Dishonored, and it works exceptionally well here. You’re a shadow adept spirit, which means you can use any shadow to your stealthy advantage by leaping to it with a click of the right mouse button. Set over 13 chapters taking place over one dark night, the gameplay of Aragami is fluid and fun from the outset. Turns out, Aragami: Shadow Edition is one of the most enjoyable action-adventure stealth experiences available. In 2018, the much-anticipated expansion Nightfall has finally been released, which has given me the perfect chance to find out exactly what I’d missed the first time around. Back in 2016, Barcelona-based developer Lince Works released Aragami, a third person stealth game where you take on the form of a vengeful shadow spirit, summoned to seek revenge on the army of light.

Call of the Sea is a first-person puzzle adventure game set in the 1930s. When you're not sailing through a European-inspired sinking city, you're on foot, climbing over things, platforming on roofs, taking in the views, and trying to avoid the danger in the waters beneath. Sea of Solitude is only a four-hour experience, but it's a journey that unravels slowly, not in a plodding way, but with purpose. In this sense, the game is not only reminiscent of a Team Ico game, but evocative like they are as well. While some are here to aid her in her quest of rectifying self-discovery, the latter are there not only to stop her, but to sink her deeper. Norah’s husband, Harry, goes to try and find a cure for her illness. On an island 74 Miles East of Tahiti, there lies ancient ruins.

Nesta felt like she could close her eyes and never wake up again. Ezra and Cal were playing in the back seats of the car, screaming about fantastic animals and people with bat wings, fighting an evil king over some weird pan, but she wasn't paying that much attention.

It had only been two weeks since she had returned to work after Andra's birth, and although she no longer had any kind of physical pain that she could justify with her pregnancy, every now and then she felt as if her whole body was being crushed under a press, repeatedly, until not a single intact bone remained under her skin. And today had not been a light day.

Her boss had sent her so many manuscripts from authors who had explicitly asked for her, and she hadn't managed to finish a single one, when in normal circumstances - where she could sleep for more than four hours straight - she would have read at least two and started editing one.

But being a full-time mother of five young children and working in a publishing house was too much even for her sometimes.

She sighed with relief when she turned right and saw the house in that familiar light yellow. She couldn't wait to leave her two sons with the neighbour for a few hours and enjoy the evening with her husband and her little girl. She couldn't wait to lie down on the couch and sleep for a few minutes while she fed Andra and let Cassian take care of dinner.

The other two girls were at Gwyn's house, who, with all the recommendations and prodding Nesta had given her, had kicked her out of her house yelling not to come back until eleven the next morning. The new mother had stood motionless for a few seconds, blinking at the door they'd just slammed in her face, and then giggled when she'd heard Azriel ask his daughters and hers what they wanted to do first - whether to put on nail polish or play "assassins".

That game wasn't exactly the mothers' favourite, but whenever the three brothers got together on the weekends, all the families ended up picking up one of the fake guns that fired rubber bullets and it was war. Countless times one of the fathers or uncles had hit one of the children in the eye before Lucien hit Dara and Elain decided that if they wanted to continue playing that game, they would all have to wear goggles.

Now, at her front door, she waited for her sons to reach the one at Drakon's house, and as soon as the man waved at her and her children blew flying kisses as they entered the older couple's home, she flopped against the door, closing her eyes.

She sighed again, bringing a hand to her face.

Nesta was so tired that she was seriously considering breastfeeding Andra and then going straight to bed. Cassian would be more than capable of picking up Ezra and Cal later and putting the youngest to sleep. He didn't need her that night.

She slipped the keys into the lock and taking a deep breath entered the house, finding it strangely quiet. She immediately thought that her husband must have taken Andra out for some air because there was absolutely no way that the two of them were here and not singing or dancing together or playing with one of the billions of toys she was given by friends and family. She slipped off her shoes and jacket, setting her computer and bag down on the cabinet in the doorway and smiled.

Cassian had been so patient lately. Much more than usual.

The labour had been long and painful, the delivery excruciating, and Nesta had never been more scared than when the doctors had pulled Andra out and the baby hadn't cried. But they were all fine now. Both she and their last child were alive and breathing and Nesta couldn't have asked for more.

She walked into the living room dragging her feet on the floor, wanting only to lie down and sleep until she had to breastfeed. She groaned thinking she couldn't even take off her bra or she'd stain another shirt with milk, but stopped as soon as she could see over the couch back, in front of one of the scenes Nesta would never tire of.

Cassian's massive muscular body, sprawled out on the cushions taking up every inch of free space on the couch, was dressed in black sweatpants and a simple white shirt that left her husband's tattoos and thick arms on full view, just as big and wide as the little pink and purple bundle curled up on his chest.

A smile broke out on Nesta's lips as she brought a hand to her throat.

Andra's legs were folded under her and one of Cassian's hands against her tiny bottom held her in place while the other was resting gracefully on her back. Back that rose and fell slowly, in time with the rhythm of her father's breathing.

Cassian's hands covered the girl's body almost entirely and Nesta couldn't help but think how relaxed and protected Andra must be feeling, her face so calm and her features drooping as her eyelids flickered. She knew very well what it felt like to lie on the man's chest while he rubbed your back to put you to sleep. Nesta had had the best dreams on that chest.

They looked so at peace.

She shifted her gaze to Cassian's face and felt a completely different emotion take over, but no less important, no less intense. She walked over to them, crouching down beside the couch and getting down on her knees right in front of them.

His dark lashes grazed the skin on his cheekbones and for the millionth time she felt jealous of how thick and dusky they were. Elegant and beautiful. She laid her head on the armrest, careful not to touch his shoulder, and reached out a hand towards Cassian, moving his hair away from his face and brushing the crinkled skin between his eyebrows. His forehead relaxed and he let out a sigh in his sleep, pushing his head against that touch involuntarily.

Nesta smiled again, admiring the beauty in those features, the line of his nose, the contour of his eyes, that pronounced jawline, until her gaze ended on the full red lips of the man who was sleeping so blissfully that he hadn't even realized someone had entered the house.

Nesta's hand moved lower, cupping his cheek, and she moved her thumb to graze his lower lip. She wanted to kiss him. She wanted to feel him close. She wanted to taste him.

His lips twitched, as if acknowledging her touch, but he did not wake. She held her breath, feeling the heat pool in her lower stomach, and withdrew her hand slowly. She couldn't think about those things now.

She was tired and Cassian was exhausted, she could tell by how deeply he was sleeping, and he wasn't going to let their first time since Andra's birth be on a night when neither of them would fully appreciate it.

After what had happened with Celia, after she had been pregnant so soon after Nora, they didn't fancy having another child in the immediate future, and Andra's birth had put a fear into her that she had never felt before with her previous children. That was why Cassian had limited himself to using his hands and mouth, why Nesta had done the same.

She shifted her gaze to Andra and her smile doubled. She reached out her hand towards her, but didn't even have time to brush her face when Cassian sprang to his seat, taking the girl with him and bumping into Nesta's arm. He was on his feet in a second as he clutched Andra, who had burst into tears from her sudden awakening, to his chest. The little girl's piercing scream made them both flinch, but they knew she had only been startled by the sudden movement.

When Cassian lowered his gaze to her, who sat with a furrowed brow and her arm still outstretched in the air, he let go of a breath, closing his eyes and moving his hands to settle Andra against him, "God, Nesta," he sighed, laying a hand on Andra's head and beginning to cradle her, then gave an amused dry chuckle, "you scared me."

Nesta pulled herself up in turn, smiling, "Sorry, not my intention."

"Maybe next time don't stand so close to my face," he laughed, his eyes full of sleep but still glowing. Andra screamed again, squirming in his arms, Cassian grimaced. "I thought you were a robber or something."

Nesta shook her head as she moved closer to the two and he took a step in turn, leaning in when they were close enough. He smiled at her, "Hello, sweetheart," he closed his eyes lowering himself more and leaving a light kiss on her lips. Andra moved so much that Nesta felt the little one's head slam against her chest and they broke away chuckling. "I think she's hungry," then he looked to the wall, squinting to read the time on the big clock there. He opened his eyes wide, "We slept for four hours," then looked at her, mouthing a what the fuck.

Nesta snickered, wrapping her hands around her little girl's delicate, slender torso and feeling a sudden surge of affection when finally Andra's clear, huge eyes - full of tears - looked up at her and the crying suddenly stopped. Nesta pushed her nose against the little one's, "Why hello, beautiful creature."

Andra cooed, bringing her small hands to Nesta's cheeks and slapping her gently. She brought her against her side and looked at Cassian, ready to ask him when and how much she'd eaten last time, but the look on his face stopped the words in her throat.

He was smiling weakly at her, the weariness now much clearer in the features around his eyes, his mouth, but he was smiling as if he had never seen anything more beautiful in the world, "This is my favourite time of the day." he whispered softly, bringing a hand to his daughter's head and leaning down to kiss her forehead.

Nesta didn't know if she could still blame the hormones for the strong emotion that hit her, but she knew she didn't want to cry and said the first thing that came to her mind, "Just because I take my bra off and you can see my boobs."

Cassian threw his head back and burst out laughing, startling the little one in her arms, but Nesta smiled at her, giving her kisses on the cheeks as she relaxed again.

"You're right," he breathed and one corner of his mouth curled, "and it's because I don't see them enough."

Nesta snorted through her nose, "What are you talking about?"

"It's true, I don't see them enough. I miss them." he pouted, pushing her back to the couch and heading for the door. He looked over her shoulder, "Shall I fetch your nursing pillow?"

"Yes, thank you." nodded Nesta sitting down with her legs crossed, "And you see them at least twice a day!" she shouted so he could hear her.

"Exactly! Not enough." he shouted back, eliciting a laugh from her.

He adjusted Andra so that she was lying on her lap and began to unbutton her blouse just as Cassian walked back into the living room. He smiled mischievously at her as she lifted Andra up and he adjusted the pillow around her hips.

He sat down next to her and stretched his legs out, putting his feet up on the coffee table as Nesta unhooked the cup of her bra and set aside the breast pad. Andra's head slammed so hard against her breast that Nesta grunted in pain and hissed as the baby began to pull almost fiercely.

"God Cass," she murmured, adjusting Andra's position better so she wouldn't choke, "You starved her." she turned to him with a worried look and furrowed brows.

Cassian looked just as concerned, "She didn't wake up and I didn't think she was hungry." he scratched his head as he turned on the television and turned the volume down to minimum so as not to disturb Andra. She was never going to fall asleep after all those hours of napping, but they could always try and by now it had become a habit to watch TV without volume.

"It's okay," she said, grunting at him when Andra clamped her gums around his nipple, "It's just that she's never been this... aggressive."

He shrugged, "Maybe she's teething?"

Nesta blinked, "When you ask these questions I wonder if you're really the father of four other children or if you've just been pretending to be here for the last ten years," she murmured, "She's three months old, honey, she can't be teething."

Cassian looked at her smiling, put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her towards him, "Sorry, Miss baby teeth expert." then he looked at Andra and his gaze softened. He sighed and his chest vibrated against Nesta as he chuckled softly.

"What?"

"It's just that she's so beautiful," he whispered.

Nesta couldn't help herself, "Are you talking about my boob?"

Another hearty laugh, then Cassian turned to her again, looking into her eyes and placing a hand on her face, stroking her cheek with his thumb, "You're beautiful too."

"Thank you, you look pretty good too," she murmured to him, shifting her gaze to his lips. Lips that opened in a brilliant smile and closed on hers seconds later.

When they both had to pull away for air, Nesta was panting and Cassian looked more than satisfied to see that her cheeks were flushed. He left a quick kiss on her forehead and then the hand that was on her face slid down and perhaps Cassian didn't realise it, but he brushed her still covered breast with his fingertips and a jolt of excitement went through her entire body.

He placed his hand on hers, which was caressing little Andra's back in circular motions, and stayed there for the rest of the evening, until Nesta's belly began to grumble and he had to get up to cook dinner.

They put Andra to sleep immediately after eating and settled back on the couch, cuddling until sleep claimed them both as Nesta took the place that had been her daughter's until a few hours ago on his chest.

Fantastic idea. Let's give it a shot! I would love to see if a creator could and would be able to create a maxis-match classic Ballet Workout Set. Including two simple Tutu's one classic short the other one long. A classic leotard, wrap top, wrap skirt, ankle leg warmers as well as a pair of thigh high ones. All in classic ballet colors black, white and pink. ;) Nothing fancy! If the creator wants some examples what I mean I could provide pics. But that would be so dope! ❤️

#SSSWish I'm half Filipino, but I hardly see any Filipino content in the Sims Community. I would love to own a Maxis Match Barong or Maria Clara dress for formal events in the game. I think it would be a great way to add more representation in the game, especially when I know there are a handful of PilAms and Pinoy players. #SSSWishlist hello! I would love if cc creators can consider making more patterns for Kimono/Yukata (traditional Japanese clothing). I find the in-game versions kinda bland, and there are not many floral Kimonos even though its commonly seen in Japanese festivals. Would appreciate if there's Japanese hairstyle cc with big flowerly accessory to pair with the Kimono too! Same for the male Yukatas, just not floral print maybe. My wish is to have more swatches for the snowboard and skis. If there could be more LED designs, interesting designs and the swatches for kids for T-E boards. It would be great.

The other wish would be to have more Kimono designs in Maxis Match and/or recolors with more patterns. There are so many patterns that I have seen while looking at real life kimonos and there are so many patterns, styles and colors that are missing in the game.

This seems like a fun idea! What I have been wanting for ages (like since TS2 era ages) is a hair style that completely covers one eye, like Violet at the start of The Incredibles. Most of the peekaboo bangs hairs I've seen are a little *too* stylish and I mostly just want one where someone is clearly trying to cover up half their face with it.

#SSSWish - I would love to see a someone put together clothing that accurately reflects the Starfleet uniforms seen on the television shows, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (collar version), "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (colored shoulders) or the later movie uniforms (grey shoulders w/ colored undershirt). It can be unlocked by creating an override and unchecking the frame restrictions in S4S, but then the body changes to a female frame. #SSSWishlist i know i already saw some people here ask for more yukata/kimono swatches here and i would like the say i really do think we need them (not just for the adults but the younger ages too, id like for the toddlers kimono not to have the hifu? vest as well but that sounds more complicated).

My Super Secret Wish is a mod, or even a tweak of an existing mod, that stops toddlers from shying away from hugs they ask for during the “Check Toddler” interaction. It is *so* irritating to see a toddler respond to a❓with a ❤️ and open arms then step back, often with a 💔, and push the adult away. I’ve tried to stop it with MCCC but no luck.

One of my favorite parts of the game is creating a restaurant or a vet clinic, but the employees are impossible to keep satisfied and they all eventually quit. It would be nice if there was a way to keep them permanently satisfied, or at least make it easier. There is a mod for this but it is extremely outdated and doesn't work anymore. If anyone could update it or make a new one that would be great! 😁

I was hoping someone could create an edit of the Snowy Escape female shirt with the turtle neck underneath and open/unbuttoned shirt, here is a link. If they could make it so that the turtle neck and shirt can be different colours, like having the turtle neck have an option under accessories to change colours that overrides the original turtleneck’s colour would be amazing! Maybe they could throw in more colours and designs, like 90’s or plaid, that would be perfect

Hi ! There is quite a few things I’d like, but I narrowed it down to three “small” things:

- An accessory top with a high neckline and no sleeves - just to hide cleavage - maybe with some lace at the edge ? and several grey and pastel colors please.

- Some accessory prints for shirts, like those tukete has, maybe some aimed at kids and toddlers too ?

- Makeup for kids. Some people let their kids wear makeup in real life, but adult cc makeup don’t look right on kids, so if anyone is interested in trying… I’d like eye-shadow and lipstick, with some discreet options (but you can go all out too of course).

I really want a pair of a-bit-over-the-ankle boots that are slightly open around the leg with a relatively thick, medium length heel. Hello! i’m not sure if its just my game bugging but the male child tiny living hair is broken and i don’t know where to start on fixing it. i tried to find a fix online but found nothing. in my game the hairline for that hair is so bad and its unfortunate cause it used to be my fav child hair. if someone that mods or makes cc could fix it or make a default replacement, i would forever be grateful.

What I would really like is just something cute for boys! Toddler or child is fine, but little boys get so little love in the community – it can be a hairstyle, an outfit, some bedding recolors with trucks and animals and such, even just a set of a few ‘boys getting into trouble’ poses. Hello! This #SSSWish is such a fun idea~ Personally, I'd love if someone updated the Plantsims mods that have broken over the numerous updates. Like, G1G2's Revamped Plantsims, Triplis' Plantsim Interactions, and Simonch8's No Cooldown & Trait mods. I've always loved Plantsims since Sims 2 & 3 days, but my knowledge of modding (and especially updating mods) is near nonexistent, so I can't do this myself. #ssswish This is such a lovely idea! There are so many fun wishes! What I’d like to have (and I think would also be useful for other Simmers) is a wedding themed recolor of the “large pile of presents.” I usually put one of those piles in my wedding venue so that the bride and groom can “open presents” together. But the colors that are on the original are not what you usually see on presents at weddings. (I usually opt for the one that is mostly purple, since purple and lavender are my favorite colors.) What I’d like to have are recolors in white, white/gold, and white/silver. Maybe some white/pastels (especially lavender, pink and blue. The white/pastel recolors would also be nice for having a party that you call a “baby shower” especially if yellow and light green were also available. That kind of party isn’t in the game, but it should be!)

I don’t see the #SSSwish I submitted on your public list (I forgot to use the hashtag before) so I’m submitting it again. I would love to see a mod, or tweak of an existing mod, that stops toddlers from pulling away from a hug after they asked for one in response to a Check Toddler. The toddler will hold up its arms with a ❤️ in the speech bubble then step back and refuse the hug, and the relationship takes a hit. I tried MCCC’s tuner to stop it but it didn’t work.

With snowy escape there’s more build items that can be used, I’ve noticed there tends to be a lot of Japanese inspired cc even before that pack, but not a lot of things from other parts of Asia, especially ancient cultures or cultural items like instruments (decor), clothing, furniture (lohan beds), etc. I’ve gone looking but most of what I’ve found is locked behind chinese-only forums and is usually alpha…I just think it would be cool to see some mm stuff from other places esp as fandoms get more globalized

This is an absolutely fantastic idea! I haven't been able to look around lately but I noticed that most rings/hand accessories aren't compatible with SkinDetail eyelashes. My wish is exactly hand accessories, specifically wedding rings, which don't conflict with SkinDetail eyelashes. It may be helpful to know that plumbobteasociety managed it in their RRS pack. I have another #SSSWish (if you don't mind). I don't know if it already exists but a mod which adds more family relationship options to CAS or the Sim menu. Like grandparents, cousins, step- and half-siblings, step-parents, etc. It would be easier instead of having to create additional Sims just to create diverse relationships.

I would love to see some more truly alien clothing options for the aliens, the males especially. I sometimes like to dress mine up in complete different outfits for their alien and disguise forms. When I want to give there alien form a totally authentic feel, but a different outfit in every category, I have so much trouble dressing up the males. So some new alien options would be wonderful.

SOME THINGS TO NOTE (please read i promise it’s important):

This has been fully playtested and works well. Weeds grow a lot but it’s more annoying than anything.

This is a residential lot, not a dorm. To convert it into a dorm, place it in a uni sub-hood, enter the lot, and enter the cheat changelotzoning dorm. Save and exit and you’re ready to move your teens in! Not sure what happens when you do that in a regular neighborhood but uh don’t try it.

Personally I think this would make a fantastic machinima location so if you use it let a girl know 😏.

Bills are kinda expensive. Like, over 600 simoleons on the lowest level using cyjon’s lot debugger expensive. Dorm billing is notoriously wacky tho - you might not even get bills! One time I did, one time I didn’t. So idk.

I have the pretty water mod, which means there is a 1x1 square of pool hidden under a bush. If you don’t have the mod, edit the lot before converting it to remove the pool. Either way, sims don’t try to use the pool so it’s all good.

I placed the mailbox in the center of the lot for ✨aesthetics✨ so the taxi arrival cinematic is a bit wonky. Not sure about the cinematic for sending an already-played teen sim to college but probably. (it works fine :) )

This is fully CC free! But you should use the clean installer anyway. Also, this was made with the Ultimate Collection - not sure exactly which EP/SP content was used (other that uni obv).

This lot is YUGE. It ran just fine for me but I have very little CC these days and a decent PC so YMMV. I decided against adding a third floor with more rooms since a lot of dormies might F up performance.

If any problems arise while playing, please tell me! It’s possible something may have slipped through the cracks. Other than that... enjoy!

I also made posters for them using @sushigal007's mesh.

So, I made these really elaborate movies for the games before I realized that they would be too long for the games themselves, but at that point there was no way I wasn't going to use them. Fuck that noise. So I've created a television station that builds games enthusiasm: The Gaming Intelligence Agency.

Features I Would Like to See in Paralives, Part 1

No game has ever been more highly anticipated than the Sims when it comes to Life Simulation—until now. Other Life Sims, including Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, have garnered great popularity, but have nevertheless occupied their own niche. Paralives represents the first true competitor to the Sims, featuring both a robust build and buy system and a compelling character creator. Several of the features I am hoping for have already been confirmed by the developer, Alex Masse, which leaves me even more excited. In listing these items on my wish list, I also hope to elaborate on what I would like to see with each feature.

1) Advanced Pronoun & Gender Choices

Alex Masse has not only confirmed advanced naming choices (such as middle names, nicknames, and the choice to switch the surname with the first name) but also the implementation of a pronoun menu. I hope to see not only he, she and they as options in how a character is addressed, but also other terms (such as bigender, agender, and gender fluid) when choosing the actual gender of the Parafolk. From there, it would be cool to have a body slider which was feminine on one end and masculine on the other. Moreover, having an optional box where you could choose sex would also intrigue me, but, again, it would be up to the player whether they wanted to do so or not. For those who did use this option, “Intersex” could be a choice.

2) A Sexual Orientation & Attraction Menu

While it’s easy enough in the Sims to choose your Sim’s orientation through their actions, many Sims will begin their own autonomous relationships while you’re not looking. If you load up another household, there’s also nothing to stop you from flirting with a Sim who’s clearly supposed to be gay, despite your own character’s gender. An examinayion of the Landgraab household led to the discovery of extra relationships for Nancy and Geoffry. If I was to go into the Brent and Brant household, it would be immersion breaking to find they had cheated on their partners with women.

This menu would include the option to be straight, gay or lesbian, bisexual, pan sexual, and so on. If a Parafolk tried to flirt with another Parafolk who wasn’t attracted to them, they would be politely declined. To the same end, it would add to the game if you could choose whether your Parafolk was polyamorous or not, and whether or not they would be happy in an open relationship. For those who were content to be in an open relationship, seeing their partner with another person would not register as cheating for them, particularly if there was an in game option to “enter into open relationship.” Options such as these could be provided after a couple had started dating, and again after they had entered into marriage.

3) More Familial Options

Blended families are becoming more common in our day to day lives. Relationships such as “step parent or sibling,” “adopted parent or sibling,” or the ability to have three to four parents based on each remarrying, would be appreciated. Moreover, there should be more options than boyfriend/girlfriend or husband and wife. Parafolk could have the option to enter into a common law marriage, in which each would be considered a “common law partner” to their significant other. More advanced family options would prevent adopted siblings from having romantic relationships with each other when they grew older; moreover, step grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles, could be recognized too. Finally, an “in-law” relationship would be a nice touch.

4) A Colour Wheel for Skin, Hair and Eyes

The developers of Paralives have already showcased a colour wheel for hair, which included the roots and tips. However, the skin tones have not yet been revealed. It’s hoped that this same colour wheel will be extended to the hair and eyes—not only for the sake of being inclusive, but to open up creativity as well. It would be amazing to create, not only accurate representations of the people around us, but more fantastical characters, such as someone with blue or green skin. Just the inclusion of a colour wheel would open up dozens of possibilities, as well as remove any misgivings with skin tone swatches.

5) Small Details

There are a number of small choices the Sims left out in terms of skin details and facial features. The ability to give your Parafolk heterochromia (having each eye be a different colour) or skin details such as acne, moles you could place yourself, rashes, and so on, would add diversity to the characters. A paint tool could even be an option for those who wanted to draw on scars, varying skin conditions, or add contours.

6) Ethnic Clothes, Hairstyles & Inclusive Clothing Choices

While there’s hope that there will be a wealth of hairstyles and clothes available from launch, there need to be extensive choices for everyone. If, for example, there are 20 feminine hairstyles and 20 masculine hairstyles under the “straight” or “wavy” categories, there also need to be the same amount of hairstyles available for kinky hair and curly hair. To this end, there could be around 80 hairstyles. While more hairs should expected to be added through updates, rather than all at once, within those that are presented to begin there needs to be an even offering for all.

Moreover, clothes should be added that reflect people beyond the western world. East Indian or African dresses should be included; there should be niqabs and ceremonial hats available. Kimonos are a popular choice for formal events in Japan. Clothes, while being labeled as masculine or feminine, should also be available for all genders and body types. Finally, a colour wheel should be available for clothes, so that you can edit them as you see fit.

GamePro’s SNES Criterion Collection

Back in 2011, the now-defunct GamePro published a piece including Criterion Collection-style covers for a handful of SNES titles, along with descriptions of the hypothetical bonus materials that would come with such deluxe rereleases. Though the cover images are still floating around online, a bunch of the descriptions are probably lost, including those for games like Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong Country, U.N. Squadron, Desert Strike, and Chrono Trigger.

Build/Buy Objects + The World!

This one is gonna be a little more in-depth than the CAS stuff because I have some issues with these sections, and it’s gonna get looooong and seeing as there’s a lot of images taking up space already this is all going to be under a cut to save space on dashes 😊

First off, the world!

Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we? The first image is a house in Willow Creek that came with base game... which is identical to one of the houses in Strangerville. Seriously, even the layout inside is the same. They literally just plopped the original on the lot, replaced the windows, doors, and fences, moved some furniture slightly, and called it a day. I am not happy at all about this. I get this is just a game pack but honestly, with the sparse way the Sims team decorate houses that come with packs, it wouldn’t have taken any more than 15 minutes to build a new house for that lot in Strangerville.

The next two images are of world decorations that I’m really quite annoyed aren’t available in the build catalogue. At the very least they should be in the debug menu, but they’re not. The new plants, the old cars, the RVs and campers and all of the decorations on them (lights, hanging plants, etc). They did the same thing with a lot of stuff in Get Famous and I just don’t understand why; they’ve made the objects, it’s not like they have to do any more work other than setting them as buyable!

Moving on to a completely missed opportunuity in the big door in the side of the canyon near the secret lab. That 100% should have been the entrance to a hidden lot. Another missed opportunity is that you can’t live in or even edit the lot inside the crater. I would have loved to have been able to build there or even renovate the Secret Lab but sadly even with cheats it’s not possible. Next to that is an oppotunity that they took hold of an ran with and I’m SO HAPPY about it! The plane crash is a completely decorative item UP you can place it over stairs and add a door to it to make it an entrance to a bunker and it looks so damn cool!!

The doors and windows are FANTASTIC! The only complaints I have about the windows is that there aren’t enough versions of them. I like FULL window sets, different versions for all wall heights and tile widths.

The floors and walls are ok BUT once again we have a recycled floor with the linoleum one on the left of the screenshot! Not only that but it has one swatch. Just one. That is literally just a dirtier version of the one from City Living. I know why they do this, because “What about the people who don’t have City Living?” but if they’re going to do that they should at least add some new swatches for those of us that already have the other floor from City Living. I also wish we’d gotten a floor to match the corrugated tin wall, then we could make flat corrugated roofs!

The next image is some of my favourite objects out of the bunch! A UFO light, a bath tub planter (not functional, wish it was but it’s still cool), the cute little decorative armadillo and whatever that little alien thing is lol, LAVA LAMPS! A fully functional AND PORTABLE laptop!!! A very cool new post-apocalyptic-ish shower/tub combo and a cool little military-style camp bed!

Then we have what are complete misses for me. The bookcase is just another in a line of bookcases we’ve gotten recently that are far too big for the shortest wall height and there is no shorter version. Listen, Sims Team, if you’re gonna do that, give us three different sizes for all the wall heights! The other two misses are these two “desks”, which are actually listed in the desk category but are absolutely NOT desks. They’re purely decorative. They serve no purpose at all. You can’t even place stuff on them. WHY!?

And lastly we come to something that REALLY annoyed me and I’m still not over it. See that pretty wrought iron fence in the front? Yeh, I was super excited when I saw it in build mode... and then I placed it. Take a closer look at the screenshot... IT’S 2D! It has literally NO depth! And for some reason the gate does?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FLUFF!? I am SO disappointed in that fence tbh, I discovered it the first day of early access and I’m still bitter about it! Also, there are four new fences (or three fences and one... boarder?) but only ONE of them (the one at the back) comes with a stair railing! I assume it’s because the others are supposed to be like outdoor fences but come on, we need more stair railings anyway!

I just... overall I’m not very happy with build/buy stuff. There are some really good things but they’re few and far between and considering there really isn’t that much stuff to begin with, it’s quite disappointing. That being said, I absolute LOVE the world, Strangerville is definitely my new favourite world, and that combined with the gameplay aspect and the CAS stuff, just about makes up for the disappointment of the rest for me.

This actually reminds me of where I live, Lake Arrowhead in Southern California when it's dry. Except I don't see a lake.

Yeah, it’ll work pretty much for any desert-y place in North America. Like, anywhere from the Okanagan Desert in Canada, to the less mountainous parts of Montana down to New Mexico and west to the more interior parts of California, Oregon, and Washington in the US, and then down into interior northern Mexico. Mostly my inspiration for the look of the place is the Great Basin (so Alienbirthqueen is right on!) and Chihuahuan Deserts, though. Not so much the Mojave or the Sonoran because those are generally flatter (and lower in elevation and therefore much hotter/drier) and the vegetation is different. Like, there’re no saguaro cacti, which is the signature plant of the Sonoran, of course. But the Lake Arrowhead area (or the Lake Tahoe area) can work, too, given that I’m adding pines to break up lot-view textures. :) In that, it resembles my home turf in SW Colorado, as well.  

Except yeah, no water. The place may or may not have some on-lot water, though, which wouldn’t be big enough to be a lake. I’ll imagine it/them to be springs magically stocked with fish. But I haven’t decided on that yet. I mean, I DO like to build my fishing spots, but I’m trying to go for some authenticity here, trees notwithstanding. ;)

Anyway, basically any higher desert area that’s not a “sandy” place will do, at least with the season set-up I’m giving the place. (Which of course can be changed to make it whatever anyone wants.) It has spring and autumn...mostly because I like to use season-enabled trees/shrubs so that there’s a visual change with the seasons. I get kinda visually bored, if you will, otherwise. :)

Well, if we’re being all green and environmentally-conscious, rubbish is bad, right? :) But no, just frowning at the uber-green trees, I’m afraid.

Oh, this neighborhood makes me want to create this type of climate setting too! Somehow it feels like a place from a good old 90's road movie. Love the new texture for the pines. Looks way better!

Well, that would certainly be different for you! All your neighborhoods and pics are so green and European and pretty. Which isn’t a bad thing, of course, but I’d be very interested to see what you’d do with a more desert/wasteland sort of environment....

Cool cool cool! It looks so much like your photo!

That’s what I was shooting for. But I tell you what, it was hard! I couldn’t figure out how TS2 decided which terrain images from the terrain default to paint where. It just seemed kind of random, and in some of my attempts, when put into TS2, the terrain was only using 2 (of the four) images in the terrain default, which looked really weird. So in the end, I put in an existing terrain, and then redid the road structure and resculpted most of the hills and such. Then, I still had to edit the terrain default to rearrange the images to suit this particular terrain to get it to look how I wanted. So it was more complicated than I’d envisioned. I could’ve probably put more time into figuring out what was going on with all that, but I just wanted to get ‘er done so I could start building.

Yeah, for this kind of desert -- the American kind, as in all of North and South America  -- there’s gotta be scrub. Pretty much the only American desert that doesn’t have scrub is the Atacama in S. America, since it’s like the driest place in the Americas. :) But even it has some scrub in places. I mean, this ain’t the Sahara or Arabian deserts! 

The lack of scrub really, REALLY bothers me in Strangetown, since that’s obviously supposed to be inspired by Roswell, NM. I am still going to play that neighborhood one of these days, but it has to undergo major terrain/deco renovation before I’ll be able to look at it without screaming bloody murder. :)

HAH!. Yeah, I’ve never watched that show (though it’s on our list to watch), but I know that it’s set in New Mexico, though I don’t know if it’s actually filmed there, so...yeah. :)

I often have a hard time keeping the classical composers apart (I'm embarrassed to admit), but Smetana's Ma Vlast always makes me cry -- it was played at my Czech grandfather's funeral... It's heartwarming to read that you like the Czech composers a lot. I'm Dutch but because of my děda I have a fondness for Czech things as well. Also, sort of related, I have played Händel's Harp Concerto at one point (when I was still taking harp lessons).

Yes, Ma Vlast is one of the best pieces of music ever written. IMO, at least. :) I’m not a person who’s into patriotism/nationalism, but I do tend to love music that has a concrete feeling for place, both physically and emotionally, and Ma Vlast has both. It’s why I love stuff that incorporates folk music from a particular country or area, because of that sense of place and time, and the Eastern European composers tend to do that really, really well, which is why I find myself drawn to them. Aaron Copland did that well, too, for American themes. Appalachian Spring (with its incorporation the Shaker “Simple Gifts” song) and the Billy the Kid and Rodeo ballet music and whatnot. Great stuff. I think that this is why I was ultimately drawn to film/TV scores, both in terms of performance and my own compositions. Film scores are designed to have a sense of place and character and sometimes history about them. So I guess it’s not surprising that that’s where I ended up spending more time, professionally speaking.

That said, for all that I am a classical musician, I’m not a walking compendium of knowledge about all of classical music. Certainly not now that I’ve been away from school/academia for *cough* like 30 years now! I have forgotten much of what I did once know, but frankly my knowledge was always pretty specialized. I know much about the body of work of specific composers in whom I have an interest, but much of the rest...I don’t care to know about it, frankly. All the baroque stuff? Meh. I mean, there’s bits of it that I like -- Handel wrote lots of good stuff, for instance -- but much of it just sounds all the same to me, and I’m just not interested enough to know more. Like, while I appreciate his technique and innovations and all that, I just don’t much like Bach’s music, for instance, and I took/take a lot of ribbing for that, but...I like what I like, and the rest of it I’m content to ignore. Which is pretty much my attitude in general, when it comes to music. *laugh*

The Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis is an outstanding piece of music. Real hair on the back of your neck stuff. If you like 20th C English choral - my recommendation would be Holst's The Evening Watch. I heard (and sung) it first at college. I was breathless after the first listen.

You know, Holst has a lot of good stuff that no one seems to know about. :) If the average person knows any Holst at all, their knowledge tends to begin and end with Mars and Jupiter from The Planets. Which is a shame. I need to listen to more of his stuff, myself, now that you mention it.

Paolo Soleri's Arcology: The City in the Image of Man is a techo-hippie dream of deep mid-century modern futurism.

Soleri taught architecture at ASU, but his real classroom was Arcosanti: "an experimental town and molten bronze bell casting community" a few hours from Phoenix, which was supposed to have 5,000 residents by now, demonstrating "lean" city living in high-density complexes that combined super-efficient usage of space with stylized, naturalistic exteriors that made each building part of the landscape.

Soleri was a crank, a visionary, a mystic and a doomsayer. His arcologies -- "architecture" plus "ecology" -- were meant to head off the coming population bomb, which, combined with urban sprawl, would destroy the planet. Soleri conceived of a city as dense as Tokyo or New York, but with a pastoral sensibility that kept each of his titanic towers in synch with nature.

If this sounds familiar, it's because Soleri's ideas were far more successful with futurists than they were with the actual future. Arcologies appeared as staples of science fiction cover-art, and their descendants can be contemporary sf, including the great, interplanetary hollow asteroid craft plying the spacelanes in Kim Stanley Robinson's brilliant 2312. I think there was an arcology in ever single issue of OMNI. Judge Dredd's Mega City One was dense with towering arcologies. The victory condition in Sim City 2000? Your highrises turn into arcologies.

I visited Arcosanti last week. As arcologies go, it's pretty modest -- only about 150 people living there at any one time. I missed the tour, too (bad timing), so I only got to see the edges -- and the gift-shop.

That's where I found Arcology: The City in the Image of Man: the 1969 classic origin node of the arcology meme. It's a huge, stark, black and white book filled with dense (and often rambling -- think Doctor Bronner's Soap meets Epcot Center) Solerian philosophy, crowded around the edges of the most magnificent drawings you've ever seen.

Soleri's arcologies are all in cutaway form, like a full-page Fantastic Four clubhouse diagram by Jack Kirby, ferociously detailed and aching with unfulfilled desire. Soleri wants these things to exist, and he uses his pen to show us how fucking cool it would be to live in the cities of his mind. Every one of these diagrams should be a poster.

You can get the book for $40 in the Arcosanti gift shop (you can get some bells while you're there!) -- it's worth the visit, and you should probably take the tour. The $67.50 retail edition costs a little more, but is still cheaper than a trip to Arcosanti from pretty much anywhere (though again, go to Arcosanti if you get the chance).

My computer is not doing great... it’s either the unbelievably hot summer weather, or just the fact that it’s quite old, but so much has been going wrong with this laptop. It won’t charge properly when I connect the adapter, there are a ton of unexplained delays when I try to run just about ANY program, and worst of all, it won’t recognize any USB connection at all. That includes the external drive that I usually run all my Sims games from. So I will have to take this computer to get fixed very soon. Meanwhile, now that I can’t actually play anymore, I can spend some of my leftover time on updating this blog for once.

Mainly what I’ve been doing in-game (before the laptop went on strike) is working on a save file that I can start all my TS4 games from, so I don’t have to place all the custom lots that I use over again from scratch every time I start a new one. I tend not to be satisfied with EA worlds until every building has been replaced with something nicer... because whether it be TS4 or TS3, EA has a chronic problem with making rooms way too large and sparsely furnished, and therefore their own builds don’t make very good backdrops.

I’ve been able to do the most in Oasis Springs. I’m constantly dithering over what and how much to change in most places, but Oasis Springs has such a distinct atmosphere of its own that I feel there’s relatively less ambiguity in terms of what looks better in each area. Bedrock Strait has been entirely filled with builds by @pictureamoebae, because she built those lots to feel very organically part of the world there, almost as if they had grown out of the desert landscape (I imagine Shady Grove Motel, in particular, germinating from a discarded condom).

The above are some screenshots of the Commercial District once I’ve placed all my favorite buildings to occupy those specific spots. I lived in Phoenix, AZ for a total of four years, growing up, and it’s spooky how true-to-life the area feels to the atmosphere of  Arizona strip malls, in ways both good and bad. When I lived in AZ, our family also frequently ate at an old A-frame building that was repurposed as an “ethnic” restaurant. In our case, “ethnic” meant watered-down Thai, and the aroma and flavor of “Killer Shrimp” (plump shrimp bobbing in a coconut-milk broth fragrant with lemongrass and tinged red with chilis and other spices, a concoction somewhere between tom yum and a red curry) is indelibly seared into my memory as part-and-parcel with the desert heat.

From left to right as shown on the Oasis Springs map, the builds I’ve used are: 1) the Cinema and Arcade and 2) the Hollywood Diner by @redhotchilisimblr​, 3) Skate, Rattle & Roll by @pictureamoebae​, and 4) House of Mango by @jenba. I’m a bit sad that the Rattlesnake Juice Bar (the only EA build that I consider to be worth keeping without edits) had to go in order to make way for Jenba’s build, but it had to be done. In my own game, it’s stayed an Indian restaurant: because I thought Jenba already did a fantastic job with the interior decor, and I didn’t want to mess with it too much, but also because there already existed a few Chinese / Asian-Fusion restaurants in my game, and I didn’t want too much overlap in that respect.

The other world I’ve made over the most extensively has been Brindleton Bay, where I even built a lot entirely from scratch (the first such lot I’ve ever built in TS4!), but I’ll go into more detail about that another time.
