It is objectively at least a little funny to me when people draw Crocodile super muscular 'cause like, sure, his torso may be as wide as a brick wall, but y'all seen his arms and legs?
They're skinny as shit, this man has never lifted a thing in his entire life, he probably doesn't even know how to run. Like Oda can draw people with muscular limbs, this shit's intentional

Mc getting their nipples pierced because they aren't crazy enough to put anything metal or spiky near their dick like mori and amir.
All the while akello is standing there just shuttering from even thinking about getting shit on his dick
Mori, no nipple rings but had a tattoo gun on his dick for 90 minutes, Amir, with like... idk 12+ piercings including nipples and dick, and mc with fresh pierced nipples in deep convo about pain tolerance and sexy piercings
FRANKLY Akello is the stable braincell of the group because he's like No I Will Not Put A Needle Somewhere EXTRA Sensitive for Aesthetic Thank You VERY Much >:[
Funfact! In some of Akello's earliest concepting, Atlas played with some more facial piercings for him
We ended up toning it down a little to just his ears because we thought it suited a more practical, refined vibe for his mature and sensible kind of tastes but honestly I wouldn't put it past younger akello to have had multiple face piercings at one point he maybe simply stopped using.

i have a very silly question, i’ve always wondered this, and i hope you don’t mind me asking you because you’re one of my absolute favourites in the fandom. but as a writer, do you have clear images of what the characters look like when you’re writing them? like when i’m reading a fic, draco and harry are just white and brown blobs in my head lol. i can only picture a vague collection of features, but when you’re writing and have to be descriptive, does that come from an actual image you have in your head (or i guess, vice versa?) like, especially when you write the same characters over and over, does that establish a firmer picture of them in your brain? this is literally so stupid but i’m extensively curious about it for no reason (no pressure to answer tho xx)
Totally not a silly question, Anon - i actually think this is really interesting and i always love hearing people's thoughts on this! i suspect every writer is very different when it comes to this but i can tell you that I have absolutely no mental picture of them at all in my head when i'm writing.
i wouldn't say i'm not a visual person (portrait photography is a hobby of mine, plus i studied film for years and love costuming, design etc) and when i write i certainly have a very strong visual sense in terms of what i'm trying to convey. but i have no pictures in my head at all! it's more like a memory of something that happened years ago, or a film i once saw. sort of filtered and unclear. very hard to explain! but when i'm writing descriptively i'm trying to create the feel of the thing rather than give an accurate visual description. and then people can just imagine it however they want, as long as they get the Vibes:tm:
one thing is for sure and fucking certain, i do not picture the film actors at all.
thanks for such a lovely and interesting ask, Anon. I had a lot of fun thinking about this.

it is interesting how different stories about showbiz try to depict a character as having star power like a common method in audio-visual mediums is music and lighting to try to make a fictional actor's performance in a fictional movie look transcendent (like in Babylon 2022 which I watched the other day) while mediums that don't have the benefit of audio or the moving picture like most comics will have something like a bunch of sparkly screentones all over the place or glitter in their eyes that kinda thing (like too many manga about the entertainment industry to name) but i still have a soft spot for Penguin Revolution's method of just hallucinating wings on everyone
